Takata recall.this recall is taking an excessively long time.i have contacted gmc product support at 8004628782 to submit a tier 1 escalation on july 27th.as of august 25th, they still fail to expedite the parts to complete a safety recall.since my wife is pregnant she cannot sit in the front seat.once our second child arrives in mid september we will not be able to ride in this vehicle together.i am unclear how to resolve this issue.
Takata recall for passenger side air bag inflator issued july 2015. I have contacted dealership and gmc repeatedly since receiving this recall and as of today they have no idea when parts will be available. Their suggestion was to not let anyone ride in the front passenger seat. I want something else to drive until issue resolved.

Takata airbag recall:i had sent complaint #10821862 but no response.i received a letter about the recall in july 2015.recall has been in effect since may 2015.i called the gmc dealer here in january 2016 and was told no parts available.i called the dealer again today (nov 2016) and was told the same thing. No part available.and was told to call back between 2-3 months.complaint:too long for a recall.safety issue.

The contact owns a 2008 gmc sierra 3500. While the contact was driving in reverse approximately 2 mph, the backup indicators would not operate. The failure occurred sporadic. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on five different times for the identical failure. The technician informed that there was not a remedy and advised that the receiver hitch be removed from the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the malfunction. In addition, previously there were other electrical issues with four of the automatic door locks and instrument panel; and the electrical main brain was replaced pertaining to those failures. The failure mileage was 38,000.
While driving in a one lane construction zone with no place to pull over, the vehicle lost power and would not go over 10 mph, requiringit to be towed to the nearest dealership. This durmax diesel engine had only 84,000 miles and had excellent service maintance. Cost to repair is 3860.00.
The water in fuel sensor on my 2008 gmc 3500 hd with a 6.6l duramax diesel. I had to take it in to the dealer they told me that i had water in my fuel. The had to flush my fuel system and replace the water in fuel sensorthey charged me $840 for this repair. But the weird thing is the light never came on.and upon my research i came across this forum that claims this sensor never works. The failure recurred six times. On a separate occasion the vehicle stalled and failed to restart. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the fuel filter which had be replaced seven different times before. The remedy failed to repair the problem. While turning the rear axles stays in a lock position and doesn't allow the rear tires to turn separate speeds this can cause the vehicle to go into a skid without notice and they set front and rear tire pressures different and the door stickers confirm that this is like driving a 4 wheel drive with small tires on the front and big tires on the back. Not only does this cause driveline failures but also could become unsafe and cause a loss of control. I have spun out more than once while turning at low speeds and once was on the way home from the dealer after the service manager told me it was fixed he "drove it himself" it has ruined the tires and now they are rebuilding the rear axle with only 25000 miles on it.
2008 gmc sierra slt undercarriage is rusting away along with any components routed along undercarriage such as brake lines, fuel lines, ect. Vehicle has been kept ina garage its entire life. This condition is extremely unsafe and needs looked at by gmc and chevy.

The dashboard is cracked in multiple locations including around the passenger side airbag.the material appears brittle and could potentially shatter in an accident.
