I was driving a gmc sierra 2500 (2015) truck on a road (speed limit 65 mph) and was stopped to make a left-hand turn into a state part.a driver hit me in the rear at a high speed.the powder from the airbag compartments filled the truck cap but the air bags did not deploy.

Side airbags deployed while pulling off the shoulder of the road. Gmc informed me the vehicle was traveling at a slow speed and airbags deployed because foot was on brake and accelerator at same time.

While driving straight/upslope on a dirt road the side air bags deployed in my 2015 sierra 2500 hd pickup truck.there was no impact and absolutely no damage to the exterior or undercarriage of the vehicle.vehicle would not restart for several minutes after the air bag deployment (if on a busy street i would have been unable to get out of roadway)

At various intervals, all four door lock actuators have failed. First rear door failures occurred in july 2020. Front door lock actuators began failing spring of 2021. Rear lock actuators were repaired at a contested (i was charged for 3 hours labor when truck was on site for two) cost of $801.86.

The display of the intellink system acts erratic and eventually freezes up.it happens in all modes ( map, radio, phone, ā€¦.).the only way to reset is shut the truck off.gmc knows of the problem but their only solution is replace the radio and or replace the touch panel.this can be a safety issue but i take my eyes off the road to try and get the display to work.

I have had the vehicle for almost 5 years and have never had an issue running the rear defroster or remote starting the vehicle.in jan of 2020, the vehicle was recalled for rear window defroster thermal event (n192265660).i had the recall completed on 6/18/20 (see attached work order).on 02/11/21 i was running the rear defroster and heard a crackling sound.i turned off the defroster and everything appeared normal.on 02/13/21 i remote started the vehicle to let it warm up (vehicle was stationary).upon entry of the into the vehicle i smelled what appeared to be burning wires.a few moments later the glass on the rear window shattered (see pictures).i looked down and noticed that the rear defroster was running as expected following a remote start.i immediately turned the rear defroster off.my concern is that for years i ran this defroster with no issue.i did my due diligence to complete the recall in a timely manner to prevent any thermal event from occurring.it appears that either the recall was not completed correctly, or the recall fix created a new thermal event.the burning wires and shattering glass were a few of the indicators in the original recall.i plan to contact gm for a way ahead.

On 5/12/19 the check battery charging system light came on, so i left out side facing street in case i had to jump to take to dealer on monday.i went in the house and 1/2 hour later heard and explosion and went out and the truck engine compartment was on fire.

Water steadily dripping through the sun visor bar that mounts to interior of roof on the drivers side when raining/snowing today. Does not matter if your driving or sitting still. Electrical wires run through this bar posing a fire hazard. Gm refuses to fix even though truck is under warranty. I have video evidence.

I was driving at approximately 40 mph on a busy city street, i was going to be getting on the freeway where my speed would be in excess of 70mph.suddenly without any warning, my 2015 gmc sierra 2500 hd duramax died.i had no power at all which means no steering, brakes, etc.i was able to get the vehicle off the road with brute force.after the vehicle was towed to the dealership they inspected it and said that the fuel injector pump failed which put metal throughout the whole fuel injection system (>$7000 repair).while doing some additional research on the internet i find out that this is a common problem for the 2011-2016 gm duramax trucks, because gm chose to use a bosch fuel injector pump which is not suitable for use with us low sulphur diesel fuel.

Lost power at 60 mph on 5 lane freeway on 6% grade with no warning when turbo charger variable vane got stuck. Had to navigate through 2 lanes of trucks to get into the emergency parking lane. Computer limited me to 15 mph. Computer designed to do this. No accident happened due to some very courteous truck drivers. It seemed like a safety issue to me, but don't know if it is important enough for your to investigate.

Duramax diesel engine fuel injection pump broke with no notice while driving causing a total loss of power. Failure repair under warranty required replacement of pump, injectors, lines, filters and flush of fuel tank.

The contact owns a 2015 gmc sierra 2500. The contact stated that the headlights were extremely dim and prevented the contact from viewing the road while driving at night. The contact was concerned that a crash could occur. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was serviced for a manufacturer update related to the headlights; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. ...updated 12/28/16 the consumer stated the lights are ok. However, they could be a lot brighter, because it is still hard to see at night. Updated 01/03/17.

The headlights are completely inadequate. If you are taking a turn at night, the lights continue to stay straight with the direction of the vehicle instead of following the vehicle so that you end up taking a turn blindly and cannot see the curb or edge of the road. It is a totally unsafe situation. We have found that you may have a bit more visibility if you run with the fog lights on, but very little improvement. Please find a solution, additional headlight, as this truck is very scary to drive at night.

The low beam projector headlights are inadequate, especially in rural areas. There is a distinctive cutoff of light, call it a line when on low beam, and beyond that line their is no illumination whatsoever as you would be used to with other lighting designs. You can not see any signs, possible animals, or anything else as you are used to seeing in the light that typically extends beyond other low beam systems. I understand that gm has a tsb for the condition but it is not advertised and from what i can determine on the net does not work regardless and is only a band aid fix. These lights are a safety hazard. I believe this issue may have contributed to an accident i had. ..updated 01/04/17

Drivers side, in-mirror (with extendable, manual, trailer mirror) turn signal too bright or should be shielded from drivers eyes. Blindingly bright for making left-hand turns. Problem worsens as ambient light is reduced.

Headlights aren't wide enough making it very dangerous to make a left or right turn and very dangerous in mountainous areas gmc finally put brighter bulbs in and hasn't fixed the problem. This has been ongoing since may 2014 and gm doesn't care.

I have the tow mirrors and they have led lights in the mirrors for blinkers and they are extremely bright!when you use your turn signal at night they are so bright that they make it so you can not see on coming traffic very well from the sides of the pickup while at a intersection or when you are trying to change lanes.in my opinion this is extremely dangerous.the blinker leds should not shine directly into the drivers eyes.

The headlights on the gmc 2500 hd are not bright enough.the lights are not able light roads without street lights, makes it very dangerous.fuel filter has been replaced twice and my truck only has 12,000 miles on it.when i asked with the life of a fuel filter should be i was told by the gmc dealership at least 15,000 miles.it is possible there is a malfunction within the senor for the fuel filter.

The headlights on 2015 sierra 2500hd denali are safety hazards they do not illuminate far enough ahead of you at night to see road hazards in front of you at normal driving speeds, they are especially lacking on rural roads, where animals might be on the roadway. They barely illuminate (very dim and unreadable), the license plate on a vehicle in front of you traveling at regular night time distances, giving you very little reaction time to react in case of hazards.we have a new vehicle less than 3000 miles and find this vehicle very dangerous to drive at night or in poor lighting. The dealer told us there was nothing they could do, considering trying to find some type of after market lighting to add to the vehicle to aid in night time driving.

Head lights are so poor when driving in rural areas and poorly lit areas that the lateral lighting is so poor that you are left to guessing where and what you are turning into, extremely dangerous to all, dealer where purchased new stats there is no fix, accident waiting to happen.

Right rear turn signal bottom socket heats up and causes an open to the top turn signal socket so the top turn signal quits working and causes the system to hyper flash.and indicate inoperative right rear turn signal in message center.only repair is to replace wiring harness and sockets.system works fine in cold temperatures as the socket does not heat up enough.happens with vehicle stationary and in motion.contacted gm about it and got nowhere.

The headlights on the truck are a serious hazard.while driving at night you can only see about 20ft out in front of the vehicle.it's even worse when is raining.

The headlights offer very poor performance at night

The headlights are not bright enough to light the roadway sufficiently at night while driving, especially on dark rural roads and during hazardous weather situations such as rain or fog. The dim light does not allow the driver to effectively see road hazards, pedestrians, bicyclists, animals or other obstacles that may appear and thus is a safety hazard.

The headlights are unbelievably inefficient. They light a narrow path about 30 yards in front of the truck. Driving at night is scary especially in the rain.

I live in the mountains of tehachapi, cannot see a thing when driving the mountain roads. Maybe 40-50 feet in front of the truck nothing to the side. Making a turn is like almost driving without lights.

The headlights are not sufficent. Night driving is terrible, can not see road. I have spoken to gm several times. They came out with an up date, saying new bulbs and repower control module, but they are still horrible. Gm had these lights for two years on the new body style for the sierra line, and now have switched to led hid's. So the people who own 2014 and 2015 trucks are stuck.

The contact owns a 2015 gmc sierra 2500. While driving at night, the headlights became very dim. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and repaired. The entire headlight assembly was replaced; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was approximately 27,890.

The contact owns a 2015 gmc sierra 2500. While driving various speeds, the projector headlights failed to adequately illuminate the road. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the tcm and bulbs were changed per tsb number: pit5374 (exterior lighting). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

While driving at night on rural highways, towing my fifth wheel trailer, in az, ca and or with no other light sources nearby the headlights were dimmer than those i am used to making wild animals and people along the road difficult to see. The instances when i noticed this were all in september 2015 .this morning my dealer, robideaux motors in coeur d'alene,id, checked out the problem and told me that the lights appeared the same as other similar models and they could not duplicate the issue (repair order #193940).i was not surprised as i have seen numerous similar reports on internet blogs and i even understand gm is being sued over the same issue (2013 and 2014 models) in a case in california.

The headlights do not provide adequate lighting of the road which makes it very difficult to drive safely at night . I have tried to work through gmc they changed the bulbs to a different vendor but didn't help. Gmc now in the 2016 are using hid bulbs they also used a different lighting system in the 2014 . The local gmc dealer agrees that the lighting could lead to possible accident . The lumen of the bulbs are down around 1200 which is half of the normal lumens to provide adequate stopping or visual of the road. Please help us owners as this vehicle is very dangerous to drive after dark. *dt

The headlights are so dim the truck is dangerous to drive at night. I drove in a snow storm last night and i couldn't see ahead of me. I was driving on a highway at 45mph.

The headlights are to dim and unsafe on dark mountain roads since new.

The projector headlights that are installed in this vehicle from the factory do not provide adequate visibility at night.i am unable to see more that 15 feet in front of this vehicle from a safety perspective.i have returned the vehicle to the dealer multiple times for repair.they changed the bulbs but stated they are working within design specifications and said that gm had used a new type of lighting system in 2015 but realized it is was not adequate and redesigned in later model year.if gm realizes they have a problem why will they not repair vehicles that they sold prior to realizing their mistake?in the rain at night there is virtually zero visibility.gm needs to fix this problem as it is a major safety issue.

Drove off the road because there was virtually no visibility in a dark subdivision.gmc initially denied there was a problem with the poor headlights --i stopped driving the vehicle at night since the $60,000.00 denali truck was unsafe to drive in the dark!!gmc eventually said they had a "bulletin" on the problem and they replaced the bulb and recalibrated the lights.about a 15-20% improvement--i still will not drive the truck at night as it is still unsafe.

Vehicle low beam head lights have very poor coverage and brightness.when driving at night they barely light the road in front of the vehicle.coverage side to side is very weak.additionally when it is raining out, it is like driving with no headlights on at all.i have contacted the dealer and they have indicated this is common complaint on 2014 sierra 1500s and all 2015 sierras since the last redesign.

My vehicle's engine stopped running while i was driving on a very busy road. I lost power steering, power brakes, everything. Other motorists were swerving to avoid me. I had the truck towed to a gm dealer, and they diagnosed the problem as the fuel injector pump. I researched this online, and found that this is a common issue! this should be a major safety concern since it's causing vehicles to simply stop running at any given speed on any given highway!

Duramax diesel engine fuel injection pump broke with no notice while driving causing a total loss of power. Failure repair under warranty required replacement of pump, injectors, lines, filters and flush of fuel tank.

The cp4 fuel pump imploded and sent metal shards through my vehicles entire fuel system

Driving down the interstate and my change fuel filter light came , and within 20 minutes truck went into limp mode. Pulled over and changed fuel filter but didn't fix the issue. Truck is currently at dealership waiting to find out diagnosis

2015 gmc sierra 2500 duramax driving east with the flow of traffic on 80 reaching the summit towards tahoe.we suddenly experience at "change fuel filter" warning which only lasted approximately 20 seconds before the message then read "derating".upon this second notification we immediately lost power to the engine which resulted in reduced braking capability and steering at literally the top of the mountain.we were traveling in snowy conditions with many semi trucks around us.we tried to safely drift to the shoulder to the safest possible place.the sudden lack of power left my family, including 3 children, in a very dangerous position.we ended up being stranded with tow trucks being very scarce and challenging to find.the nearest rental car took 2 hours to get to, and we had to shuffle kids all over.one child was crying and scared to death at all the cars zooming by and our inability to move.it appears that the cp4 fuel pump may have failed leaving us almost instantaneously in an unsafe situation.

While driving on dry pavement, driver moved knob onvehicle to switch from awd to 2wd.vehicle went into an immediate spin which could not be corrected.(or maybe it was because of what happened next).vehicle careened over two lanes ("presumably" would not stop - driver does not recall trying to hit the brakes repeatedly or at all as the "next problem" was in front of driver and driver was focusing on survival)..driver quickly smashed through metal safety barrier and crashed through trees over a 30 ft embankment into a reservoir.driver able to open roof while "steering" with left hand and opening roof with right hand as driver knew water was fast approaching.driver smashed through trees, truck was demolished but driver was able to make it out of car alive as car took on water through opened roof.vin number reports brake issues.driver not aware of "brake recall" or any issues and did not report brake issue as an issue on scene as incident happened so fast and driver was attempting to stay alive and was ever focused on the next 'obstacle" as it was in the way per description herein.airbags deployed as expected and driver exited water-filled vehicle via opened roof unharmed.gmc sent investigators out but no report has been issued to driver.chubb lead investigator accompanied the gmc investigator and reported "no vehicle malfunction".after this incident, and reading others' problems, driver is now not convinced of that report..no mention of brake recall seems to have been reported by anyone but by putting vin number into this database.

Since day one with my 2015 gmc 2500 the transmission has acted very weird when driving. Every appointment i have made for service at the dealer i have complained about the shuddering and inconsistent upshifting and downshifting and of course the dealer tells me that they cannot find anything.now it is to a point where transmission is shifting but the truck has no power some of the time. I feel like it comes and goes weekly. I also own a 2015 gmc 3500 that i bought at the same time but that truck resembles none of these symptoms.

Transmission control module failure;the truck at 45 mph developed a complete loss of all gauges(tach, speed, fuel, temp) and then 10-15 seconds later two loud noises followed by the vehicle coming to a rapid deceleration.this resulted in the wheels locking up and sliding sidewise.the truck rolled up on to its left two wheels and then slammed down.if this occurred at 75mph on the highway, the truck would have rolled.the truck has been at a gmc dealership since then.gmc has no date of if or when this truck can be repaired.the "tcm" is defective.it was on a city street, 45 mph zone going straight down a gentle grade.

Gmc,i am emailing you in regards to safety features of our 2015 gmc sierra denali not working properly. The rear seat belts do not lock and they do not retract without assistance. We asked the dealership locally if it is recall related issue and they said we would have to pay to have them fixed. This is an issue with a safety feature and it should be replaced/fixed at your expense.we have family friends who were involved in a collision on i70 with a bear, in a gmc or chevy and their little boy almost died because his seat belt faulted to lock and keep him safe. Since knowing that was a huge issue, it is important to us to pursue getting this fixed.it has been like this since we bought this truck in 2016.we look forward to hearing back from you regarding this matter. Passenger seat belt does not allow freedom of movement after breaks are applied with constriction of passenger . Only way that owner or passenger can release the seat belt lock mechanism is to unlock the seat belt while vehicle is in motion causing safety hazard for the passenger. Owner took vehicle to dealership and given estimate of $950+ to fix this issue.

Rear passenger seat belt is stuck and will not let out slack or tighten. Constant. No accidents. It worked properly when we bought the vehicle. We were unaware of any changes or occurrences that caused it

The contact owns a 2015 gmc sierra 2500. While the vehicle was being reversed with a trailer attached, the brake pedal was depressed, but failed to operate. The contact stated that the trailer crashed into the awning of the residence. There were no injuries. Upon inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed evidence of brake fluid leaking from the brake booster, which allowed brake fluid to enter the cabin of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to performance chevrolet (located at 3222 beverly pike, elkins, wv 26241, tel: (304) 591-1077) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the brake booster was leaking and was 1,000 miles out of warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted or notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 37,023.

I was driving in my city and the brakes were fine prior. I was coming up to a stop sign and all of the sudden my brake pedal was going to the floor. I could not stop within reason. Luckily no one was in the crosswalk or i would have hit them. I used the e-brake and my exhaust brake to help so me slow down. I was doing about 35mph. I took the truck home immediately as safe as i could. I called the gm dealership by me and took it to them. They are only a few miles away and i took back roads to avoid trouble. I was informed by the gm dealership that there was an internal failure of the brake booster and master cylinder. $654.00 dollars to repair my 2500 denali truck. I called gm service already and they informed me my truck was not under the recall. This issue obviously exists to more vehicles than what they specify and you could lose brakes at any moment. Gm needs to rectify their truck brake situation. Someone will end up getting killed.

Power steering intermittently goes out on low speed, low engine rpm, right hand turns.i have had vehicle to dealer to have issue fixed on may 16, 2017.they indicated they could not duplicate problem.model year 2014 have been recalled for this issue, but not 2015 model year trucks

The power steering goes out when turning. This is happening more and more frequently. 2014 gmc trucks have a recall (#14743) addressing this power steering assist issue. Gmc said that i need to get it fixed at my cost.

Having tire issues with my new 2015 gmc 2500 4wd pick up the bridgestone tires that are installed as factory equipment size 265x70x17 load range 'e' they have a tendency to wonder and at times and not following a curve. The alignment was out and realigned by gmc at 7000 miles. The problem didn't go away. I called a bridgstone dealerand he said the tire size was incorrect they need to be 245x75x17 load range 'e' firestone tires.gm is refussing to put on the correct size. I checked with michelin and they recommend 245x75x17 load range 'e' tires. The new 2016 gm 2500 vehicals have 245x75x17 load range 'e'.

While slowing down making a left or right turn it will not turn. It's as if the power steering malfunctions for a second. It caused me to "overshoot" a parking space in the city and have to back up and try again. This has happened several times. I have an appointment with gmc to have it checked out. This is very dangerous.

The contact owns a 2015 gmc sierra 2500. The contact stated that while driving at high speeds, the vehicle vibrated violently without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer but the failure was unable to be duplicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 30.

The undercoating on the frame is coming off. The frame is already rusting. How long will it be before the frame rusts through ? i talked to another person with the same truck and he is having the same problem.

This truck has had problems with water getting into it during heavy rain since bought new. It seems to occur at the front door area near the windshield. When the truck is outside in the rain, there will be water soaking all the floor boards. This has led to stinking issues and mold/mildew. They have refused to fix it because it hasn't been recalled. It has been getting worse and the last very heavy downpour we had, the floorboards and windshield were frozen. This is a $60,000 plus truck. This is ridiculous that we have to keep it covered or in a carport for fear of water seeping into it. The vehicle is parked in heavy rain when this happens.

The air conditioner quit 350 miles over the warranty period.

The contact owns a 2015 gmc sierra 2500. When the contact auto started the vehicle, smoke appeared from the rear window and a burning odor was noticed. The contact powered off the engine. The vehicle was restarted; however, five seconds later, the rear window shattered without warning or an impact occurring. The contact stated that the metal that heated up the window caused the failure. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided case number: 9/5625662049. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000.

The contact owns a 2015 gmc sierra 2500. The contact stated that the windshield wipers failed to function. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the wiper fuse failed and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the fuse was replaced, but it failed multiple times. The vehicle was not repaired and was not taken to a dealer. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 138,000. The vin was not available.

The headlights are very poor.it is easy to over drive them.dark roads or rain or snow it is dangerous to drive.

The contact owns a 2015 gmc sierra 2500. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 10 mph, the defroster system failed to defrost the windshield. In addition, the windshield wipers caused ice build up. The failure recurred on multiple occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired.the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,600.

The tire sensor alerted outside of altoona pa on corridor 99.we called service, they changed the tire that miraculously had not blown apart. There was a hand size bubble on the inside and the tire was separated at the rim all around it.we called good year and got a claim # and setup to have tire replaced in florida. Remaining tires all had separated above the rim and could have blown.these tires were rotated and checked every 5000 miles. Good year has the tires and says they will investigate.we are concerned that this could happen to others that aren't aware of the "fluke" as the gy manager called it. We have pix of affected tires but are unsure of how to upload them.

I bought a new 2015 gmc double cab 2500 hd z71 4x4 pick up truck in may 2015 it has factory equipped lt 265x70x17 bridgestone duravis 7 ply tires. I took it on a unloaded 9000 mile road trip after about 7000 miles i noticed the truck was not handlinglike it should it wanted to go straight thru curves it wondered and pulled left or right. I took it to the gmc dealer in spokane washington the found that the alignment tow-in and right side caster was off. This is not my first gm truck the last one i drove 93000 miles and never needed an alignment. While driving to bend oregon the problem reoccurred. I took it to the chevrolet gm dealer in bend alignment check was ok they said it may be tire pressure related i am using the recommended cold tire pressure of 65 psi front and 70 psi rear unloaded not pulling anything. Upon returning to prescott arizona i took it to tims gmc dealer and the alignment was ok.
