My truck has recently (4/1/19) had the "service air bag" msg appear in the dic along with the airbag warning light illuminated.comes on and continues to stay on each and every time i start the truck until shutting it off . Has continued to do this consistently every single day after 4/1/19. Causing me to be even more concerned than before since my kids commute in this truck 7 days a week!i've made contact with the dealership from which i puchased the truck but can't get an appt until 4/10/19 .i also have had them tell me a time or 2b4 that they don't have parts to fix and they currently aren't responsible for repair /replacement at this time .. So im sure i'll get the same routine speech and be sent on my way to roll the dice on whether my airbags will be suitable to do their job and worst case cause serious injury or death to me and or my family. . doesn't seem fair to us owners who spend several thousands of dollars to this manufacturer /dealerships (gm).

The windshield wipers will come on and not turn off. I have had it at the mechanic for this at least 5 times. It happens whenever it rains or the windsield or some part gets wet, like a car wash. There are cracks on the dashboard connected to the airbag. I'm concerned this may be a safety hazard that could send shrapnel if airbags deploy like the recent takata recall. One of the electrically powered, folding external mirror assemblies became inoperable on my 2007 gmc sierra 1500 pickup truck which led to the entire mirror assembly becoming loose.the result was that the mirror assembly will slightly move back and forth while driving, causing the driver to erroneously sense movement of his vehicle or erroneous movement of an adjacent vehicle.this false sensing of vehicle movement is very distracting, causing a driver to lose focus on theroad and to lose focus on the operation of his vehicle.the condition is distracting enough that it may, in some drivers, induce vertigo which could lead to catastrophic results.## vin failed ##

There seems to be a relay problem in the fuse box under the hood. The first problem happened about 3 months ago. The truck was parked. It had no power. It would not turn over and had no instrument panel. Checked fuse bank and swapped relays around for the start relay. After swapping around a couple of times, it cranked. It ran ok for three months.next problem occurred with my wife driving. With no warning it lost power and died. It would not turn over. After trial and error, i swapped around relays for the crank & run relay. It started. Note, i did not replace any relays. I just swapped the out with other relays. When swapping relays, the other functions worked as well.this second time was very dangerous as my wife was driving down the road and it just died. I have no idea what to do about it with it working fine for the moment.

Just unbelievable that a i paid so much for this truck to have recalls and so many issues. I hope you guys take responsibility just like i did to paid the truck.

Truck randomly doesnt start.no crank no start became more frequent and has now died at hwy speeds 3-4 times. Resulting in no power steering,no abs, airbags become deactivated in a stall situation to my knowledge. Making it very hard to control the truck in order to get itoff thehwy/roadway. Stabilitrak light, tire pressure light, traction control light all stay on and the most recent light is now the abs light.now it's to a the point of hardly starting at all. The key has recently became very hard to turn as well. Originally the door locks would cycle multiple times , and interior lights dash lights would all cycle at fast rate all at once. When this first happened i was always able to eventually get the truck to start a short time after.engine power reduced is another specific warning that appears now that it's now dying while driving down the hwy.each incident when the truck has stalled it's been when driving at least 60 mph.or more. Numerous owners of gm vehicles are and have been having the same issues for far too long with little being done for alot of these owners.

In moderate traffic, i was traveling south on germantown pkwy. At a traffic signal, the light changed to red and i stopped the vehicle. After a few moments at a dead stop , i noticed the speedometer jumping from 0 to 10 and then higher.with no indication whatsoever from instrumentation, the engine stalled. There were no indicator signals at all. I was able to restart the engine after placing the shift lever in park and turning the key. I then contacted on star, and reported the incident and asked for a diagnostic. They reported "an ignition problem" and said i should schedule an appt with a dealer.

Takata recall: per dealership, 8/12/16 unable to make appointment to fix the recall number #49152. They have no idea when the parts will be in. Says it could tke up to one year!!!! we were in an accident with this vehicle.the truck was sandwiched between two cars, the airbag did not deploy at 35 mph., he was injured.after vehicle came back from bodyshop with $7000.00 worth of damage fixed, airbag light came on and has stayed on.we use this truck for our contracting business, so is it safe like gm recall letter states?i called gm back on july 1st, 2016, asked if there was a takata recall on this truck, i was told no.i told them the airbag light was on so why not recall based on other 2007 trucks?part 573 safety recall report given to the nhtsa by gm clearly shows that all 2007 gmc sierras were to be recalled in area b, which is where i live.. Brake lights stay on. Due to brake lights staying on cruise control is disabled. Vehicle brake opertation is doing the opposite, when in motion stay on and when slowing down or stopped brake lights turn off. Called gmc and informed there is a recall for the same year but for the chevy malibu. Took vehicle in for repair to repair and paid to have the body control module replaced on 02/15/2016, almost 7 months later the issue has returned. Attempted to have dealership that replaced part look at but told there is only a 12,000 mile or 12 month warranty and vehicle has reached over the 12,000 so no longer under warranty. We were also informed the was only a "temporary fix, and the bcm doesn't fix the breaks." dealership claims the second part that needed to be replaced,which we declined, would have permanently fix the issue. Part had already been purchased at $10 and was going to be charged by dealership $150 for them to provide and install. Called gmc customer service for assistance to correct this safety issue. Gmc called to inform us that as a courtesy and the approval by the managers at dealership, will be able to give a $2000 voucher towards a new vehicle or used. Called days later as voucher did not come through via email and informed unfortunately voucher as the vehicle must be under 100,000 mile for trade in. Per gmc customer service at this time unable to resolve correcting the safety issue with body module control and it would be the expense of customer to replace again after its been replaced a little over 7 months ago. Very frustrated as driver of the vehicle is 8 months pregnant and due to break lights not working may get into an accident. I have a 2007 sierra,which has been givingme problems since itwas pur chased. It has stop in the middle ofthetraffic when i was driving. It has done this4 times since i purchased the vehicle. I have taking the vehicleto the dealer, but, theynever find anything wrong. On saturday the car stop , in the middle of traffic, and this time it did not move at all. The truck would not move, and i was trying to make a right, but i was stuck. I was worriedthat someone could crushfrom theback, because they could not pass,there was a man that came and push my truck to get out of the street .and now i am concerned for the safety of my daughter and me. This vehicle has giving me many problems, but the dealer never seems to find anything wrong with the vehicle. I had some items installed by them. One was a dvd player, it cost 2,300. And they said that it was my fault so they did not fix it. And that was 3 moths after the installation of the dvd by them. And the battery die on the truck 4 months after it was purchased. Electrical - instrument panel.the instrument panel is impossible to read at most times during daylight.gmc does light up the odometer/dic and gear indicator but speedometer, rpm, fuel, oil, oil, water all are not readable at most times.

I purchased a brand new 2007 gmc sierra 1500 pickup from lone star pontiac buick gmc in mckinney, texas on 11/18/06.only after being pulled over for speeding did i realize the speedometer was not calibrated correctly after the dealership had installed an after-market lift kit and large tires and wheels on this truck.i discovered by calling another gm dealer that because the speedometer is not calibrated correctly it causes the anti-lock brake system to not function properly.the dealership willfully and without regard to the safety of its customers sold vehicles like mine that had brake systems that did not work properly.the general manager confirmed that they have sold many trucks like this so it is reasonable to assume there are many trucks on the road now which may have faulty anti-lock braking systems.i am concerned for everyone else that purchased one of these trucks and aren't aware their brakes don't work right.the general manager told me that the speedometers can not be calibrated correctly.

70,000 miles low oil light comes on,just had my oil changed 1000 mile before. Took in to gm dealer they told me oil pan gasket was bad. Repaired. 1000 miles later low oil light came on, took back to dealership. No issue found. Truck just burning oil!the truck keeps using 2 to 3 quarts of oil dealer will not do anything. Call gm they advise to go to dealership and do oil consumption test. Did this taking it back to dealership every 500 miles to have oil checked. Used 2-1/2 quarts of oil between oil changes. Told dealer this was not normal to fix my truck. Dealer advised gm would not fix my truck because this is normal usage. It is now using about 3 quarts between oil changes. Gm told me to go back to dealer to have another oil consumption test done.we see they hide problems well, as was the last recall.how about getting them to address or fix this issue. They are still advertising the afm engine , and raising the normal oil usage from a quart to 2 quarts.as anyone can see with the latest recalls they will hide or not acknowledge the problem. They are worried about their bottom line. Not the customer.see how many changes and service bulletins have been issued due to this oil consumption issue.my gm case # 71-1118075589. They tend to close these case numbersquick. And then they assign you another case number each time you call customer serviceto hide the fact they have problems.when dealer does oil consumption i find they do not show anything back to gm or attach a record to your vin #. Last couple of time i spoke to gm customer service, they had no record of me ever having an oil consumption problem. And my last case number did not show up in their system.all you have to do to see the problem is "google " gm 5.3 oil consumption problem. You will find more than a few complaints.

Attempted to start vehicle. Failed to start. When turning the ignition, acted as if there was a dead battery. Attempted to start again, burning smell and smoke from the engine cover. Towed to dealership for diagnosis. Service advises that main bearing was thrown, seizing the engine and smoke was from the starter burning up. Engine has 87,000 miles. Also burns approximately 1 quart oil every 1,000 miles. Vehicle purchased october 2015. Dealer advises replace with new engine. Replacement in progress. Date of loss 23 january 2016. Oil level was full.

Uses oil..lots of it. And with it using oil seems sluggish..no passing speed. Burns 1 quart every 2000 miles. Lots of owners are experiencing the same issues with oil consumption and exceleration

I had a 2007 gmc sierra. Throughout the life of this vehicle i've ask why the 5.3l motor burns a quart of oil or more during oil changes. Constantly ask multiple dealers to inspect and they continued to state that's just this engine and would never mark paperwork to check. Always stated it will burn a little oil in between oil changes. I continued to believe this as other owners of this vehicle type told me same information. On or around feb 7, 2014 engine dropped cylinders and lost most power to vehicle while on interstate. I'm concerned as it lost power and dramatically slowed but also that i've had a faulty product since buying and no recall was issued. I maintenanced this vehicle properly. After telling me the cost to replace the 2 cylinders or engine i had a decision to make. This engine should be recalled as it has major problems. Unfortunately gm didn't recall the engine and fix it properly within my warranty timeframe. I even bought extended warranty. Now i've had to buy new truck which i wouldn't have bought if engine was still running in 2007 gmc truck. These "eco" engines need to be reviewed.

I own a 2007 gmc sierra 1500 crew cab. I have some issues when i start my truck in the mornings, i get a tapping noise as if there are lifters stuck or not getting sufficient oil. I have always used the recommended ac oil filters that i purchase from the local dealership parts center so i know that the filter is not the problem. I am a mechanic so i know what an engine is supposed to sound like. The noise will continue until the engine warms up which is approximately 10-15 minutes and is very annoying. I am currently deployed to kandahar, afghanistan in support of operation enduring freedom and schedule to return to the us in late march 2012. I spoke to my wife today and she said that every time she start the vehicle for the first time the noise is there. I would appreciate if you could answer my question concerning this issue. I like the truck but the engine noise has to go. Like i said before i have been a mechanic for over 30 years on construction equipment and automotive equipment for the us army. Please do not try to give me a short answer to try to get rid of me, i know better. The crankcase is full of oil to the correct level on the dipstick and i use the recommended 5w30 oil. Gm warranty # [xxx] i have had oil consumption test done and they ordered parts and told me to bring it in. When bringing it in to "philips buick gmc" fruitland park florida, i was told that i would be able to get a comparable vehichle in exchange while mine is worked on. I get their and they try to give me a compact suv. I am 6'2", 200lbs. And drive a 2007 4 door sierra 1500 that i use for my commercial business every day for work. They were aware of this. I shut my business down to half of what it was in order to be able to afford loosing my truck for a couple days to waranty repairs. I was told i would get a full sized truckor suv. I still have to haul product for my business just to keep it 50% running for those couple days. I also have 4, 200+lbs guys to haul around for work as well, and a special needs daughter who needs the aditional space of a full sized vehichle.i paid over $40,000 for my truck. Its not my fault that i have a warranty issue and it has to be worked on. So my business, family, and self shouldnt be the one who is inconvienanced for a gm warranty issue. Gm needs to do what it takes to make this right. I spoke to gm and they told me to go rent one myself and pay myself. They said they would only give me $35 dollars a day for reimbursement. The brake lights turn off if you press the brake and then slightly depress the pedal, although the brakes are still applied the brake lights are not on.i first noticed it while backing out of a driveway at night, and i did not think it was a safety concern until i saw my wife stop from 45 mph and the brake lights flashed and then turned off until she came to a complete stop.i took the truck to the dealership they thought there was a problem with the truck, and replaced the brake light switch.the problem did not go away.the same defect is on every truck on the car lot. The dealership wrote on my invoice that the owner presumes that when the brake pedal is pressed the brake lights should be on. Duh!!

2007 sierra with 5.3 liter has experienced two plastic fuel line leaks in under 37000 miles. Leaks spray fuel onto exhaust pipe area. This truck has never been off road,used to tow, etc.

On april 13 2014 my truck was leaking fuel too bad to continue driving. I have been smelling gas for about a year and could never find where the leak was coming from. Then on april 13th while i was driving home i smelled gas and had to pull over, frightened that the truck might catch fire and explode. It seems there is a leak around the fuel tank. I notified gm and they said that they would only pay for a portion of the repair. Another problem that started about the same time i started smelling gas was that the key started getting stuck in the start positioin continually turning over the starter. I then have to struggle forcefully to get the key to turn to the off position, fearful of causing more damage to my vehicle or possibly catching fire. I don't understand how these trucks don't have a recall on them!!

Vehicle has intermittent problems with the fuel delivery system, causing stalling, very low rough idle, unable to accelerate. This happens in traffic, at stop lights etc.the make and model of my truck is included in a safety recall bulletin #14515b january 2015, however my particular truck is not on the recall list. I have contacted gm and they are unwilling to replace the fuel pump flow control module that is causing this safety hazard.my belief is that gm recalled certain vehicles and excluded some that should be in the safety recall scope.

Latch/lock on center console/jump seat failure.the plastic latch for the lid on the center console, which is also a jump seat when upright, has failed.the result is thelid can become open if the seat is tilted up to use as a jump seat, or if downward pressure is applied to the rear of the lid, or if you hit a bump or if you are in a crash.the contents of the compartment can be released and pose an imminent danger to the occupants of the vehicle in the result of a crash or otherwise become a distraction to the driver.the plastic latch is not available as a replacement part from gmc.the entire console must be purchased for $450 to replace latch and it has the same defective latch.

70,000 miles low oil light comes on,just had my oil changed 1000 mile before. Took in to gm dealer they told me oil pan gasket was bad. Repaired. 1000 miles later low oil light came on, took back to dealership. No issue found. Truck just burning oil!the truck keeps using 2 to 3 quarts of oil dealer will not do anything. Call gm they advise to go to dealership and do oil consumption test. Did this taking it back to dealership every 500 miles to have oil checked. Used 2-1/2 quarts of oil between oil changes. Told dealer this was not normal to fix my truck. Dealer advised gm would not fix my truck because this is normal usage. It is now using about 3 quarts between oil changes. Gm told me to go back to dealer to have another oil consumption test done.we see they hide problems well, as was the last recall.how about getting them to address or fix this issue. They are still advertising the afm engine , and raising the normal oil usage from a quart to 2 quarts.as anyone can see with the latest recalls they will hide or not acknowledge the problem. They are worried about their bottom line. Not the customer.see how many changes and service bulletins have been issued due to this oil consumption issue.my gm case # 71-1118075589. They tend to close these case numbersquick. And then they assign you another case number each time you call customer serviceto hide the fact they have problems.when dealer does oil consumption i find they do not show anything back to gm or attach a record to your vin #. Last couple of time i spoke to gm customer service, they had no record of me ever having an oil consumption problem. And my last case number did not show up in their system.all you have to do to see the problem is "google " gm 5.3 oil consumption problem. You will find more than a few complaints.

Cloth seats accumulate pollen and dust creating a potentially dangerous problem for people with breathing conditions - this problem is acknowledged by gm via a tsb numbered subject: excessive lint accumulation on cloth seats (replace seat covers) #07-08-50-018 - (08/28/2007) and then again with document id# 2023269. I know this typically does not qualify as a safety concern but the situation is relatively extreme to the point where after a while that using a vacuum cleaner is no longer effective for individuals with breathing problems.

This is the e-mail i sent to gm regarding the problem with the back seat and how i feel this is a safety issue. They did not respond to my e-mail so by the 8th day i called and they said they closed the case based on what the dealer said, "condition does not represent a safety hazard." i strongly disagreed and pursued it further getting the same answer. Here is the e-mail:i have a 2007 sierra gmc with a back seat that has movement (play) in it due to what gm calls a "rattle clip" breaking. I questioned the dealership when taking the vehicle in for a different repair and was told that it was just a rattle clip. I have called gm regarding the safety issue and was given an authorization for a covered diagnostic on the truck. Again, the dealership said, "found 2 seat back rattle clips broken. Condition does not represent a safety hazard." i declined the repair based on the fact there is no known cause for the failure of these clips except for the simple fact they are cheap plastic. I do not feel replacing a plastic clip with another plastic clip will fix the problem. It will only be a matter of time before they fail and the seat has play in it. I question if they would even hold in the event of an automobile accident. When strapping in a child's car seat there is to be no movement in it in case of an accident for obvious safety reasons. I do not see how a back seat that has a 1 1/2 inch or more of play in it is not considered a safety issue. I have a video i would like to e-mail you so you can determine this for yourself. I am requesting they address this safety issue so my family and any other passengers can be safe while riding in my gmc.i would like to point out although they named this part a "rattle clip" it serve more of a purpose than to just stop a rattle nose. It secures the back of the seat to the frame of the truck so there is no movement.

While driving the vehicle at a rate of20 mph and started stopping and notice the brakes where going out.i had then lost brake pressure altogether.used the parking brake to get stopped after putting the vehicle into neutral.i had the truck towed to my local independent mechanic and he checked the vehicle and found all the brake lines to be rusted out, and had lost all brake fluid.upon finding this he found the majority of the undercarriage to have severe rust damage an several parts also.

I guess ford and dodge owners crawl under their trucks in the winter and do this as there was no investigation on them. By the way i live in tn where winters aren't that bad. And one other thing what marketing buzz saw decided it would be better not to have a split brake fluid reservoir so at least i would have 1/2 of my system, had no brakes front or rear because of this.

Took vehicle in for repair to repair and paid to have the body control module replaced on 02/15/2016, almost 7 months later the issue has returned. Attempted to have dealership that replaced part look at but told there is only a 12,000 mile or 12 month warranty and vehicle has reached over the 12,000 so no longer under warranty. We were also informed the was only a "temporary fix, and the bcm doesn't fix the breaks." dealership claims the second part that needed to be replaced,which we declined, would have permanently fix the issue. Part had already been purchased at $10 and was going to be charged by dealership $150 for them to provide and install. Called gmc customer service for assistance to correct this safety issue. Gmc called to inform us that as a courtesy and the approval by the managers at dealership, will be able to give a $2000 voucher towards a new vehicle or used. Called days later as voucher did not come through via email and informed unfortunately voucher as the vehicle must be under 100,000 mile for trade in. While driving vehicle, complete brake failure occurred. No traffic on road was able to coast to stop without accident. Quick inspection showed severe brake fluid leak. After towing, repair shop found ruptured hydraulic brake line due to corrosion, and multiple other similar weakened spots. All hard lines replaced. Manufacturer declined warranty assistance. Of note, vehicle purchased new, with no heavy duty use, nor high mileage. Original parts in my possession for verification.

I went to a local recycle business to drop off some cans. Upon entering the building at about 10 mph, this guy motion me to stop and walked in front of the truck. I hit the brakes and the peddle almost went to the floor, but did stop. Just missing the guy that walked in front of me. Realizing that a brake line broke and that the dealership wasn't far away, i drove really slow to get there. I left it over the weekend. Monday they found that the brake line that runs from front to rear rusted and burst. $ 463. Later i took the truck home. Aftercrawling under the truck when i got home, i noticed more brake and fuel lines with allot of rust. I applied some paint that's supposed to slow down corrosion. I'm glad i wasn't on the highway with my grand kids in the truck. Or worse, the fuel lines could break. I believe there should be a recall on the brake and fuel lines. How much would it have cost for the manufacturer to have installed stainless steel lines when the truck was built? i'm sure it wouldn't have been much. I have bought the truck used i have emailed gmc that i was having issue upon doing so they had sent me a phone number to call which i tried and it said it would not let me from my area i emailed them again and they did not reply. My master cylinder went out on my gmc sierra 1500 wt extended cab and i found upon replacing the master that they used a 2006 master cylinder on what they call a 2007 vehicle .. Lost the brakes completely no wreck. What they did do was send me a letter in the mail stating my bumper to bumper warranty was due to expire how convenient for them. I tried hard because i want to know did they use 06 on my 07 truck to obtain replacement parts it is important. Now a few months later i am noticing that underneath the drivers side that one of the brake lines is starting to leak i still only have 48000 miles on this vehicle no way no how should the lines have rotted out this early or corroded gmcs answer is it is out of warranty. Being on disability i will have to come up with close to 300 dollars to replace all the lines before they blow out and cause me to have a major accident which gmc does not seem to care that they have installed defective parts that prematurely fail.

I was pulled over by my local police department for defective brake lamps 3 times. I have gone to my local chevy dealerships and they replace the switches 4 times. I then got pulled over again so i brought it to lemay buick and gmc in kenosha wi. They replaced the brake lamp switch 2 times. When you push on the peddle and let up just a hair the brake light go inop. This is a major concern for me because i could get rear ended at anytime with no brake lights. I hooked up a light on my dash to let me know when they are or are not working at highway speeds the lights do not work 95% of the time going 70mph and slowing down to 55mph the lights don't even blink. I tried calling gmc and theysaid there is not a problem with the lights on these vehicles.

The brake lights turn off if you press the brake and then slightly depress the pedal, although the brakes are still applied the brake lights are not on.i first noticed it while backing out of a driveway at night, and i did not think it was a safety concern until i saw my wife stop from 45 mph and the brake lights flashed and then turned off until she came to a complete stop.i took the truck to the dealership they thought there was a problem with the truck, and replaced the brake light switch.the problem did not go away.the same defect is on every truck on the car lot. The dealership wrote on my invoice that the owner presumes that when the brake pedal is pressed the brake lights should be on. Duh!!

Front brake rotors are warping.

My 2007 gmc sierra has faulty abs sensors which activate at low speed stops and greatly extends the stopping distance of the vehicle.searching the internet usenet list it seems that a good portion of gm fullsize pickups and suvs have faulty abs brake sensors which activate during low speed braking. 1999 - 2007 vehicles seem to be the most affected and include sierra, yukon, suburban, and silverado trucks.gm has known about the issue for many years and has issued a service bulletin on the issue but failed to issue recall, this leaves the owner stuck with the problem to deal with on their own.

2007 gmc sierra crew (new body style)while stopped at a stop sign i nearly had a vehicle rear end me. I had my brakes depressed and noticed my brake lights were not light up. I then pressed a little harder on the pedal and then my lights came on.this new brake light where if you step as hard as you want on the brake and then let off a micro inch and it goes off.so i got home and did some searching and found that this type of problem is occurring quite a lotwith this truck my thought on this is that any time the t brake pedal is even depressed just a little bit the lights should go on.i did also find itstrange that the brake lights do not work with the ignition off. I purchased a brand new 2007 gmc sierra 1500 pickup from lone star pontiac buick gmc in mckinney, texas on 11/18/06.only after being pulled over for speeding did i realize the speedometer was not calibrated correctly after the dealership had installed an after-market lift kit and large tires and wheels on this truck.i discovered by calling another gm dealer that because the speedometer is not calibrated correctly it causes the anti-lock brake system to not function properly.the dealership willfully and without regard to the safety of its customers sold vehicles like mine that had brake systems that did not work properly.the general manager confirmed that they have sold many trucks like this so it is reasonable to assume there are many trucks on the road now which may have faulty anti-lock braking systems.i am concerned for everyone else that purchased one of these trucks and aren't aware their brakes don't work right.the general manager told me that the speedometers can not be calibrated correctly.

Truck randomly doesnt start.no crank no start became more frequent and has now died at hwy speeds 3-4 times. Resulting in no power steering,no abs, airbags become deactivated in a stall situation to my knowledge. Making it very hard to control the truck in order to get itoff thehwy/roadway. Stabilitrak light, tire pressure light, traction control light all stay on and the most recent light is now the abs light.now it's to a the point of hardly starting at all. The key has recently became very hard to turn as well. Originally the door locks would cycle multiple times , and interior lights dash lights would all cycle at fast rate all at once. When this first happened i was always able to eventually get the truck to start a short time after.engine power reduced is another specific warning that appears now that it's now dying while driving down the hwy.each incident when the truck has stalled it's been when driving at least 60 mph.or more. Numerous owners of gm vehicles are and have been having the same issues for far too long with little being done for alot of these owners.

I bought a new heavy duty 2006 1/2 ton pickup truck. It presently has fifty thousand six hundred miles on it. I just went to have the tires rotated and was told the idler arm on the steering rod was worn out. When i asked further questions the tire guy said this was real common in gm products. I went to my local dealer and was told it is ok for now but will have to be replaced in the next year or so. I am 60 years old and have owned new and used vehicles all my life and have never had a problem like this. If this idler arm on the steering should fail there would be no way to control the truck. I think someone should look into this problem. This vehicle has never been off road and has been maintained perfectly. Gm must be putting substandard idler arms on their steering tie rods for heavy duty pickup trucks. I have had many vehicles with over one hundred thousand miles and have never had a problem like this.

I have a 2007 gmc sierraand this is the second time i have had an issue with the exact same part, the steering position/ angle sensor. I have been trying for more than 2 months to get a dealership to order me the part to have it repaired but only to be told the part has been discontinued my general motors. There are numerous vehicle still on the road that have this issue and gm discontinued this part.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc sierra 1500.while driving 45 mph, the steering column failed while turning left or right.the contact has to manually return the steering wheel to the center.the dealer stated on two separate occasions that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced.on another occasion, the dealer stated that the drive belt needed to be replaced and other services needed to be performed.originally, the dealer could not duplicate the failure.a technician from detroit inspected the vehicle to see if he could identify the failure, but was unsuccessful.the vehicle was taken to the dealer on five different occasions, but they were unable to duplicate the failure.in mid-january of 2008, the dealer replaced the steering pump and stated that they would not keep replacing the parts until they locate the cause of the failure.the failure mileage was 10,616 and current mileage was 19,000.

There is a loud clunking from the front end when driving at any speed,the cluncking can be felt in the steering wheel as well as the floorboard, it feels as if the steering wheel is coming disconected from the rackon pinion. This problem was addressed at a local dealership in hudson fl.on 12/16/06 and in less than 15,000 miles in has returned. In speeking with g.m cust serv 12/18/07 they found doc's stating this is a noted problem. I still have no resolution.jks

2007 gmc sierra truck frame rusted out before the body and will not pass nys safety inspection.

The dash board of my vehicle has cracks in it. More and more cracks are beginning to develop over the airbag. I am worried about the airbag deploying with sharp plastic pieces pointing at it. I think this is a hazard to all drivers. Every gm truck/tahoe from 2007-2013 (that i have seen) have these ugly and dangerous cracks in them.

Multiple cracks on the dash board. The edges of the plastic are very sharp and could be hazardous in the event of a collision. The first crack appeared on the passenger side on the just above the air bag. It is now cracking on the drivers side. I have had chunks of plastic fall off while driving and the fall through the instrument panel and steering column to the floor.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc sierra 1500.while driving 15 mph, the brakes failed twice.the vehicle has been to the dealer approximately 15 times since it was purchased in august of 2007.the dealer turned the rotors and changed the brakes and the seat belt assembly.the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure.the fuel gauge failed and the bed of the vehicle separated from the frame.the engine lifters failed to function properly as well.the failure mileage was 12,000 and current mileage was 12,100.

While driving the vehicle at a rate of20 mph and started stopping and notice the brakes where going out.i had then lost brake pressure altogether.used the parking brake to get stopped after putting the vehicle into neutral.i had the truck towed to my local independent mechanic and he checked the vehicle and found all the brake lines to be rusted out, and had lost all brake fluid.upon finding this he found the majority of the undercarriage to have severe rust damage an several parts also.

Takata recallcracked dashboard. At passenger airbag and also drivers side. Materially defective and potentially dangerous dashboard. Dealer fails to replace under warranty. Going on my 3rd dashboard out of pocket. Will not buy another gm product. Neither will my friends or family.

One of the electrically powered, folding external mirror assemblies became inoperable on my 2007 gmc sierra 1500 pickup truck which led to the entire mirror assembly becoming loose.the result was that the mirror assembly will slightly move back and forth while driving, causing the driver to erroneously sense movement of his vehicle or erroneous movement of an adjacent vehicle.this false sensing of vehicle movement is very distracting, causing a driver to lose focus on theroad and to lose focus on the operation of his vehicle.the condition is distracting enough that it may, in some drivers, induce vertigo which could lead to catastrophic results.## vin failed ##

The dash on the 2007 gmc sierra has cracked.this could have an affect on the air bag when deployed.the air bag could be cut by the pieces of plastic.this also should not happen especially when it cost around 1000 dollars just to replace.this has happened over time due to poor manufacturing plastic product.

I have a 2007 gmc sierra extended cab z71. The truck is approximately 2 years old with 20000 miles. The truck has been driven in the northeast for its entire life. The frame on the truck from the front to the rear as well as many of the components underneath the truck have become extremely rusted. I have spoken with many dealers and they say this problem is caused by the road salt and snow/ice that comes with the northeast winter. Nothing has been done to correct this problem, but i am afraid that this rust will lead to corrosion(rot) and something major could happen to the vehicle and or myself. Since this truck is only 2 years old and has this issue, it is only going to get worse with age.

The contact was able to pull the vehicle over to the side of the road. Upon inspection, the rear of the vehicle discovered that the rear passenger side leaf spring fractured and was hanging on top of the axle. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was slowly driven to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the rear passenger and driver side leaf springs were fractured. The leaf springs and brackets were replaced on the vehicle. Driving down road, heard / felt loud bang.stopped vehicle, no damage or parts of road way.several days later while fluid filming undercoating underside of vehicle noticed broken middle rear drivers side leaf spring stick out of leaf spring pack.

At 50000 miles had to replace both front hubs bearing where destroyed.at 6500 m iles brake lines ruptured while driving.

I was driving and started to hear a knocking sound. Message center said low oil, so i added more oil over the weekend until i could get it into the shop. Monday morning on my way to work i heard something shoot through something under the hood and the truck went dead. There was a pool of oil under the truck and metal shavings were found in my oil pan.

Difficult to see speedometer and gauges on sunny days. When lights are on there isn't a problem.

The windshield wipers will come on and not turn off. I have had it at the mechanic for this at least 5 times. It happens whenever it rains or the windsield or some part gets wet, like a car wash. Driver's side rear view mirror doesn't have auto dim. N a trip and noticed passenger side mirror doesn't auto dim 04/18/07 and from then on had issue with mirror not auto dimming.took to dealership 06/29/07 they said due to the vehicle build it is not equipped.so again driving at night on 07/04/07 had a problem with glare and distraction from vehiclelights behind me, shining in passenger side mirror.i have a dispute to make and i believe it is safety related. I have a 2007 gmc sierra crew cab with power folding turn signal indicator rear view mirrors. On the drivers side the glass auto dims, on the passenger side it does not. However it is to my belief gm has built these trucks this way to save money. I on the other hand feel that if they are going to have one side auto dim why shouldn't they have both sides auto dim, due to the fact drivers still get blindsided and distracted when there are bright lights shining on the passenger side mirror. I had a 2004 gmc sierra with both drivers side and passenger side mirrors that did auto dim. Many of the 2007 gmc sierra trucks are built this way and i feel that it is not safe to the driver, not only is it an annoyance, not only with a person such as myself has a sensitivity to bright lights and glare at night. I propose that gm be contacted about this issue and a recall be performed on these passenger side rearview mirror glass. Thank you .
