I know the auto companies are in financial trouble but that still does not excuse making an unsafe auto. I am afraid enough not to drive my car. I feel i put my family and myself in danger taking thsi car on the road. I hope you will help correct this problem. I feel my only next option is to contact a lawyer over my legal rights.

The door comes unlatched from the pontiac montana mini vans w/o power slider also.subsequently my van door passanger side came open slamming off halfon the road and then remained attached to the top but the track wheel snapped off, making it inpossible to put on with out tools and the muscles to even lift it.

2004 buick regal stops while driving. Key was stuck in ignition and repaired at local dealer in macon. Vehicle now shuts off while driving at speed at 45 mph or more.

Speedometer fluxuate sporadically, wrong speed showing.took to dealer, diagnosis as component failure. Gmc acknowledge problem, but refuse to recall. Dealer will replace odometer if less than 80,000 miles.

Headlights continually burn out. Replace every month!just replaced on 2 days ago and already out again! speedometer does not work.

My car was running one day when i was in a store and i came out and got in and it was dinging and lights were flashing radio didn't work fan was not as strong as usual. And once in awhile i won't even have lights unless i hold in the brights switch. But that was just the start it got more frequent that this would happen then, it wouln't start i would try for hours to get it to start i would have to disconnect the battery and wait and then even after doing this it might not start. And then just driving down the road it will ding and flash raid shuts off says "locked" what whatis this now. So i will stop shut off wont start, finally starts then none of the gauges work or radio or even the a/c.i have lost two jobs because of my car not starting and being late for work or not being able to make it cause it wont start. Now i have taken it to about ten dealer ships , well every place tells me same thing there is nothing wrong with your car. May 30,2007 was the worst time with my car, it was raining really hard, my car started to act up like usual my a/c wouldn't work it was really humid and about 85 degrees and i got to a town and shut off the car and disconnected the battery as usual also and nothing happen and this went on for 2 hours and still nothing happened the worst part about this is i had my 6 month old daughter with me, my fiance is out of town we are an hour from home and my friend has a flat tire and my parents on vacation i had no ride or any body to call and i couldn't call a tow service because i only had $10.00 to my name i had to bundle my daughter up in her blanket and start walking home, i walked for about 20mins before any one stopped to pick us up.i am so sick and tired of this happening and would like this problem to be resolved buti don't think it should have to be at my expense when it obviously is not just happening to me! please please help me !! ijust don't know what to do!!! akl

I notice smoke coming from the steering column, inside my car, quite often- at least 2 times a week. My brakes wear out faster than they should. I have to replace the driverside hub assembly kit every 3-6 months because it starts clicking then wears out the brakes if i don't get it done- at the cheapest 100 every time. Car has not been in a wreck and i do not know why it does this.

I was driving home from work entering the freeway on ramp.the ramp is controlled by a signal and i was waiting my turn when the engine failed. I was coasting downhill into another car when i hit the brakes and there were no brakes. I bumped the car in front of medamaging the front grill and hood of my car.submitted the car to the dealer for evaluation of an electrical problem. The dealer has been unable to duplicate.

Purchased a 2003 envoy xl on 27 dec 02 - since that time it has been to the garage two times - no clamp on one end of the power steering line (luckily it blew off while still in our drive way - god help us if it had let loose at high speed on a crowded highway)second time was for a bad cam sensor. And we haven't made the first payment yet. First cass number from gmc is s1-68773551 - second case number i don't have yet as i just reported it this morning. Needless to say that my wife and i have no trust in this car now - what else will go wrong next.

My 2004 avalanche started making knocking sounds when turning corners - took it to the dealer and $700 later and a new steering yoke the knock was squelched (not gone) and the speedometer coincidentally started moving like a second-hand on a watch (jerky) - took it to the dealer and they want $525 for a new cluster that they say is not common - looking on the web, i found this to be a very common problem with avalanches and the waiting list can be in the hundreds before me - if this is so common, why isn't there a recall and why does the dealer deny the number of occurrences?

I have had nothing but problems since i purchased this used 2001 saturn in 2001.i have put 2 catalytic converters, steering rack, stabilizer bar, front struts, had a head gasket major problem.i have owned two other new saturn's with no problems...i am roughly disappointed in this car.also my dash lights dimmed when security light flashed on and when that happened also my temp gauge and gas gauge would go from right to left and then back quickly.i had to have a modular replaced.again, i am sooooo disappointed with this car.within the first year of owning this i had two inline fuel filters as the car just stopped while driving...speed went down and down and nothing.has anyone else had so many problems

Purchased 2005 trailblazer 3/8/05 @ bacon chevrolet in palestine,tx. Problems: while driving headlight & interior dashboard lights flicker & shut off, engine loses power & surges lunging forward, battery gauge drops & pegs out, check engine light comes on, ding alarm, radio, electric locks, etc, w/ no key in ignition go off & on, no power cant start vehicle. Svc mgr/tech comments: cant duplicate complaint, no codes showing, gm bulletin stating "normal" & working as designed, can not replace or work on anymore due to tech/gm motors stating "normal", or until problem can be duplicated or until they have a way to fix. Repairs:(total of 9 times in shop) 2 headlamp switches, 1 battery, 3 times wiring harness gone through, numerous pcm updates/reprograms, fuel pressure check, ipc reprogram, data recorder installed, replaced bcm body control module, workorders have been altered & work stated done that has not been done. I have all my workorders. Conclusion: took to bbb of tyler,tx.cs#chv0592738, had arbitration hearing. Bbb's decision was that their opinion was that the lights going off while driving was not a safety issue. Thought the bbb was suppose to be a consumer advocate! i found this website while doing a college research paper. How many other consumers have same problem, but do not know about this website. Will anything be done before someone is killed or is that what it will take!

Reported earlier gas odometer broke when fueling vehicle on 2 seperate occassions, first time fixed, then again while fueling gas, it broke.failed to mention my problems with the speedodometer.it was fluctuating all the way up, then all the way down irratically before it dropped down to the middle.

Gmc yukon xl, faulty instrument cluster. We have a yukon xl and our instrument cluster has been defective for years.speedometer, tachometer and the digital air conditioner controls are all not working for years. We have a risk of running over the speed limit and all the other inconveniences of the the other gauges that work on and off. Please check on line and you will see that there is a whole industry to fix the instrument clusters. That is proof enough.

Speedometer stopped working.

Fly wheel and speedometer.

I took my son to school and after i drop him off,my speedometer stopped working! it was saying i was going 120 miles an hour! i call the dealership them told oh they go out all of the time?

Speedometerquit working , indicator needle goes up and down, even when car is parked.

The speedometer needle on my 2003 gmc sierra truck is stuck at 140 mph. I was stopped by a police officer for an unrelated incident and was issued a citation for having a broken speedometer. I need to get it fixed, but gmc dealer is not cooperating.

Envoy 360 speedometers 2004 reads im going 150 mph all the time.

Speed sensor went bad at 45,000 miles on a 2005 impala.repaired the problem and found it caused the instrument control panel to be in-operable and need to replace that.wipers also park in upright position.no defect codes found.

We have a 2003 chevy trailblazer ltz. The instrument cluster is going all crazy. The speedometer is not working. I see this has been an issue on a lot of the vehicles. We ahve two children and hate driving a vehicle that we don't know how fast we are going. It would only happen once a month at first and now it is every time we drive it. We took it to the dealship and were told that we would have to purchase a new one.

In august last year i purchased a 2007 chevrolet suburban. At 2000 miles the car is 1st totally draining the battery ( i was in camping in the middle of the forest- they found me after 3 hrs- sheriff dept). Since then every month same and the dealer can not find the problem. They changed 3 batteries. Today 2/21/2007 is the 7th time. I pay $825/mth + rent a car every month-- they do not pay for rent a car because they start blame each other. Gmc is blaming the dealer and the dealer gmc. I'm in the middle and i don't have a car. I need your helpthank you.

I bought a 2002 chevrolet malibu on august 10, 2004.the mileage was 45,281.since that time i have had 2 problems with my vehicle.1.gm dex-cool/intake manifold gasket.2.anti-theft light comes on.after car has been stopped, the car will not restart again.with regard to item number 1 above, i understand there is a class action lawsuit pending.with regard to item number 2 above, these are the circumstances concerning my problems associated with the anti theft system.from august to october 2006 i had to tow my vehicle to the chevrolet dealership to address the problem of my car not starting.it was towed 4 times, the first 3 times and all the dealership said was that the battery needed to be charged.on the last time, october 13, 2006 the dealership said their ?educated guess? was the need to change the starter switch and ignition lock cylinder for which they charged me for a starter switch - $96.15, an ignition lock cylinder - $154.79, recode the lock cylinder - $15.00, and $46.00 to correct the pass lock sensor data, plus a $10.00 environmental disposal fee.my son looked on the internet to see if anyone else has had similar problems with their same model car.it appears quite a few owners have had similar problems.the anti-theft problem fix was to allow the car to sit for 10 minutes, and then try to start the vehicle again, and it worked, sometimes after 2-3 attempts.the dealership had also said to try the same fix procedure, it might work.it appears that general motors knows about this two problem, and is only addressing the gm dex cool intake manifold gasket. General motors should recall to fix both problems at no charge to the owner.it's only a matter of time before either of these two items becomes a safety issue and causes a loss of life or limb.the current mileage is 55,340.

I would like to report the problem im having is with my wife's 2000 chevy malibu, and from what i have been reading this will cause a number of deaths and crashes if not already but no one has figured it out yet.the car will not start at the most important timemaybe when she may one day may be trying get away from a rapist or a murder.and no i am not the only one there are over thousands of people like someone child or wife that is right at this moment stuck on the side of the road,or maybe the car turn off on i-95 while they were doing 70 on the interstate with a 18 wheeler moving at the same speed that could not stop because of the problems with the anti-theft system and ignition switch.to the point the car will cut off when you are driving it down the road without no warning, and if you make it safe to where you are going the car will not start if you try to.you have to wait 10 min. To try to start it. There many people out there having this problem chevy is not help out any.it will not give a trouble code, so they skip around with uneeded repairs.something needs to be done this is a big problem.and who is to say how many people that many have been hurt or killed because of this that may not known about this.it is a death trap and needs to have a look into. Thanks

Intake valve. Seal leaked , lost anti freeze almost over heated engine.

I have had issues with my 2001 chevrolet impala regarding the passlock sensor, which is part of the ignition switch.there's a service bulletin out on the part.i've contacted gm and they out right told me that they weren't going to do anything about my problem because my car has too many miles on it.i had the part replaced within the first 6 months of purchasing the car brand new.i had it replaced again on 11-10-05, which took a year and a half to diagnose the problem.now i am having the problem again.i contacted chevrolet today and they refused to even help...wouldn't even open a complaint for me.they're saying that no one else is having this problem, but i've researched forums and it appears that several people are having this problem.i don't feel that i should have to pay to have this repair done again since it was done 11 months ago.i'm irritated and i would like a response from someone as to what will be done.

The door comes unlatched from the pontiac montana mini vans w/o power slider also.subsequently my van door passanger side came open slamming off halfon the road and then remained attached to the top but the track wheel snapped off, making it inpossible to put on with out tools and the muscles to even lift it.

I own a 1998 grand am.due to a recall notice, i had my car shipped to detroit for service, since i am i n the service, guarding an embassy out of the states.my mother, wanda griffin, 19347 revere, took my car on monday, may 23, 2005 to ray laethem pontiac, inc., 17677 mack in detroit, michigan for service per instructions on the recall notice.the car ran beautifully for two days, but on thursday, may 26, the car would not start.she was told by ray laethem she would be responsible for towing the car, and if the part is defective she would have to bear the cost.i feel this is very unfair because if the part is defective, she would not have been put in this disposition.i am writing for clarity of your policy and to see if she could be reimbursed for cost of towing, since we live a considerable distance from the company.

The ignition key continues to get lock or stuck in the ignition.this represents a secondary safety issue in that car has key in the ignition at all times.battery could drain leaving passengers and drivers stranded in unsafe or unable to react to unsafe situations (criminal pursuers, assailants, etc).because your car has been drain due to an ignition defect that locks your key in the ignition.

Tie rod end- drivers side.lso have problem with left brake light- replaced bulb and keeps going outignition switch locked up now engine and coil pack blown-- engine oil pressure light never came on to alert of impending problem.

I accelerated onto the freeway to catch up with on coming traffic on my 2007 gmc yukon. When i hit top speed in the 3rd lane not even a quarter of a mile at 65-70mph, the accelerator got stuck making my vehicle travel at 80-90mph on its own. I stepped on the brake but my vehicle was still accelerating. I then put the car into neutral and took the next closest exit. I was blocking the exit with on coming traffic behind me and luckily a few good samaritans help me push my vehicle to safety. I used onstar to get my car towed to the dealership, thus being a sunday, all service departments were closed. Monday morning 8/20/07 i notified the dealer about the accident and it wasn't until 8/21/07 tuesday i received my vehicle back. I was told that there was a recall on the computer and am very upset that i was not notified by mail or by phone call by gmc. I am very shaken up and traumatized about the whole ordeal and very thankful that the worst didn't happen.

Vehicle was running hot.took it to midas, midaswho said it was a intake manifold problem with the plastic cap and neededto replace itfor total of 700.00. Midas said they have had a lot of customers with same problem due to antifreeze strength the dealership was required to put into vehicle. Also having problems with vehicle stalling, and when fillingvehicle up with gas, which seemsto run out or maybe leak out fast.

Wiring harness in steering column replaced shortly after purchasing car new in 1999.this past summer parking lights would not turn off.replace relay.fall parking lights would not turn off and when turning steering wheel all lights would turn on and off. Replaced wiring harness again.1 month later woke to find lights on again replaced relay.2/4/06 woke to find parking lights on again.removed relay.walked back inside, looked out to see headlights on.had to unhook battery.don't know what else to do.........mechanics at a loss.incident date below is a guess.

My husband and i bought a 2005 pontiac grand am in december 2005. Since that time, the main fuse has blown twice, leaving us stranded. The first time it happened was 37 days after we bought it and it was repaired under warranty. The service technician said it was a problem with the ignition lock.it has been exactly 48 days since we got it back and the same thing has happened again. We are now fighting with the dealership to have it towed again (it has to be towed as it won't turn over at all) and repaired. We are getting the run around from everyone we talk to.

Iwas driving to work at approx. 35 mph.i own a saturn 2000 ls with a 3.0 v6with 56,413 mi. My ses light & battery lght came on while i was driving - almost at the same time my car died.my car would not start.all my gages were normal prior to the car dying. I had to have the car towed.it was towed to pep boys they told me that the timing slipped and that the serpentine belt was melted.they told me take it to a saturn dealership in order to fix it.they also informed me that this was the 3rd saturn ls2 in the shop this week with the same problem.the car was towed to saturn of orchard park.saturn had the car from 06/28/05 until i picked it up on 7/06/05.the tech told me that he found that the water pump had leaked onto the timing belt - the timing belt slipped causing the car to jump timing - this caused the sepentine belt to snap and it melted into the pulleys. I told him that there was no indication to me that anything was wrong with the water pump.there was no leaking of fluid on the driveway of my home.the engine temp.gauge was normal.i just had the oil changed and the transmission checked. In the end the tech replaced the water pump (this is the second water pump for this vehicle - the first one was replaced when the car had 19,958 milesin 2001).all pulley grooves were ground out.the tensioner pulley and belts were replaced.engine still would not start.all the intake and some exhaust valves were damaged.both head cylinder banks were replaced the cam and timing were set.the car was road tested.$ 4,313.05 later - i have my car back. I could have been in a serious rear end collision.saturn is well aware of the problems with this engine. There is no guarantee that the same thing will not happen again.i have contacted saturn customer service - they offer no assistance. I believe that there is a serious design flaw with this engine. I would like to see this investigated.

Purchased the car in february'03.bad vibration when driving at speeds over 45 mph, tires rotated and balanced 4+ times, both front wheel bearing/hub kits replaced in less than 6 months after purchase, still occurs and have just grown accustomed to the shaking.engine coolant leaks: replaced pump and "o" ring.power steering pump and return hose replaced.driver side window does not roll back up(believe dealership replaced prio to purchase).driver side mirror motor has never worked properly, dealer(in rochester) put on receipt of last repair that they replaced motor, but didn't actually have part, but was on order.never received a phone call back when or if part came in(dealership is over 300 miles from my home, purchased car on the internet).

Car was purchased in november of 2004 used from saturn of fayetteville nc. In february of 2006 while entering highway my car suddenly shut down. I had vehicle towed to find that the timing chain was the problem. I had a used engine put in my vehicle which only lasted me just over a year and cost me over 1,800.00. In october of 2008 iwent outside to start my vehicle to find it would not start, thinking that the battery was bad i replaced it, it was not the problem thinking it might be the spark plugs they were replaced as well. Frustrated i had the vehicle towed to the place that replaced the first engine and again to my surprise guess what bad timing chain. I have had this vehicle for only 4 years still owing on this vehicle i am very frustrated. I have called saturn and i was informed that my vehicle was not under recall. I have been online to discover that i am not the only one with this horrible problem.

I have had a problem with the ac and the service engine light has been on every since i got it also. I have fixed everything i can think to fix to get the service engine light off and it still is on. I have been back and forth with the dealership that i got the car from then they started giving me the run around b/c they just didn't want to fix it any more. Then i tried to get it fixed were i live and one place could not fix it b/c they said that i had a life time warranty on it so i had to take it to a gm dealer ship. The original company said that i didn't have a warranty on it at one point. So i took it to the other dealership and they fixed it one day , i can and got it a week later and keep in mind i was out of a car and i had to wait for them to pay for a day or two for the rental then when i went pick it up, it still was not working and then i took it back twice and they said that it was the condenser. So i took my vehicle and took it to just a regular dealership b/c the amt to fix it was 1100 dollars there. He put dye in it and everything and three wks to six wks later i am back were i started b/c it is not the condenser. I just want a to get the ac fix to were it will work and keep working. This is a every summer thing and it is to hot in the summer people die. It is 107 degrees out and i already am paying double for a vehicle why should i have to take another car payment. I don't like to recycle cars every three yrs. I want to pay it off and be done with it. I want to save and invest not pay dealer ships the rest of my life. Please help me to get a resolution.

I have a 2003 chevrolet impala which has 46,904 miles on it and it required the following at a cost of $1,150.00 to fix. I brought it to the dealer for a no heat problem, upon inspecting the vehicle it was found to need new lower intake manifold gaskets, new water pump, flushing and new dexcool antifreeze because of contamination.

Gmc 3500 crew cab dually with the 6.6 duramax diesel and allison automatic can to perform its designed job with out over heating.truck is rated for 23,500 gcwr and a 16000 towing capacity.however it struggles to pull 7000 pounds and engine temperature got over 230, and transmission temperature over 210.the cooling fan struggles to control the heat and runs constantly, the noise is unbearable.if one were to attempt to pull my rv up a mountain grade in the summer i would be left stranded on the road or in traffic.

August 2008 - fan clutch failure, $800 dealership charge to fixoctober 2008 - blower motor failure, no heat or air on speeds 1, 2 & 4, only on settings 3 & 5, not sure if it is blower motor or switch.

Defective intake manifold gasket on 1999 chevrolet venture minivan with 3.4 liter v-6 engine.intake manifold gasket leaked coolant into engine "gumming up" and caused engine to seize.stranded my wife and 3 kids.impact of seizing engine simulated a rear-end collision as described by my wife who was driving at the time.

Intake valve. Seal leaked , lost anti freeze almost over heated engine.

Doors rattle and shift while driving down the road. The windows also rattle, particularly on the drivers side, front and back. Also, the air/heat blower is stuck on #4. It won't blow on any other settings

I purchased a 2004 envoy with 18,000 miles in the summer of 2006.beginning in january 2007, my 3 year old son let me know that he was cold while riding in the back seat and begged that i turn off the air.turns out that the vent in the back of the car was blowing ice cold air on my son.the temperature outside was approximately 10 degrees.i called and scheduled a time to take my car into the dealership, as it was still under warranty.i found out that the vehicle had a "bulletin" stating that gmc was familiar that there was heat failure in the back of the cars, but the company was choosing not to do a full recall.instead, they were waiting for customers to discover the problem and bring it in for repair.they had to install a special pump, however, this still did not fix the problem.instead, it just modified the temperature of the air from approximately 20 degrees to maybe 50 degrees.not a lot of comfort in a minnesota winter.i was informed that bottom line, it was a design flaw with the vehicle, and that i could just try to force the air from the front of the car to the back seat.what is the point of having vents in the back of the car, and having a separate heating element specifically for the back of the car?i purchased this car because i thought that with the vents in the back, it would help heat the car faster in the winter, helping to keep my son warm.i do not believe that heat should be a luxury, and am disappointed that gmc would not do more to correct the problem.i want it to be known to the general public that this is a problem in the envoy and trailblazer, especially for families with small children who do not have a voice to let their parents know the icy air blowing on them.

Car was getting hot then cooling back down, while getting hot heater would not work.took to mechanic, had thermostat and water pump replaced.car ran fine for a couple of days, then same problem.took back to mechanic. He said its possible the thermostat purchased was defective. Installed new thermostat from the dealership. Got in car did not get hot and cool back down it got to normal operating temperature and heater worked. Three days later, car started getting hot, cooling back down and bubbling the water out of the overflow reservoir.there are no leaks anywhere,no blown gasket, or cracks. This problem is becoming a big pain.i think it is a defect caused by manufacturer and if the problem cant be fixed, i know ill never own another gm {great mistake} vehicle again.

The check engine light came on and my engine locked up and radiator fluid was coming out of the head gaskets on the engine with no prior warning. This is the second time within 4 years that this has happened with this car.

Tie rod end- drivers side.lso have problem with left brake light- replaced bulb and keeps going outignition switch locked up now engine and coil pack blown-- engine oil pressure light never came on to alert of impending problem.

December 2002 - manifold gasket failed, allowing dexcool coolant to mix with the oil system. Gasket replaced. November 2004. Replacement gasket failed. Coolant in oil system again. Modified gasket kit installed. Jan 2, 2005. Cam shaft breaks. Bearings/bushing seized due to oil system contamination.on jan 2, 2005, the van stalled in intersection. Car restarted. Car then stalled on the expressway on the way homeand would not restart. The stall occurred on a bend coming out of a tunnel.approaching cars had little warning that our vanwas on the side of the highway.police helped push the van off the side of the road onto the grass.the van cannot be cost effectively repaired. It needs a new engine.

I was driving on california highway 101 south when on an incline, my motor on my saturn 2000 l suddenly stopped working.i had it hauled to my saturn dealer, and was told several days later that the timing chain broke and the entire motor needed to be replaced.

The door comes unlatched from the pontiac montana mini vans w/o power slider also.subsequently my van door passanger side came open slamming off halfon the road and then remained attached to the top but the track wheel snapped off, making it inpossible to put on with out tools and the muscles to even lift it.

Following are problems i have had with this vehicle since owning it.all of which i feel has caused me great inconvenience, and recently too much money.i have sent letters to gmc just today to see if they are going to do anything about the inconvenience and cost.october 21, 2002 at 4035 miles the idler arm was replaced, (under warranty) at doan chevy. Somewhere around january 2003, a sensor for the heater shield was replaced under warranty at doan chevy.march 4, 2004 at 26,345 miles the idler arm was again replaced under warranty at doan chevy.march 29, 2004 the drivers?? door needed to be aligned it never closed properly, as did the passenger visor needed to be aligned because it never would snap shut, replaced under warranty at doan chevy. After being stranded 3 different times on major highways during rush hour traffic, because the car would just quit while driving it, on july 8, 2005 the fuel pump modulator was replaced at a repair shop owned by a previous hallman chevrolet mechanic in rochester, ny - sam lovetro automotive 44 richomd street, rochester, ny14607.phone number 585-262-4585.not under warranty, as the warranty is only for 36,000 miles.this cost me $671.98.friday, july 1st to find the problem, took it back into the shop tuesday july 5th picked it back up on friday july 8th, 2005. Tuesday, august 2nd 2005 the service engine light has come on again!i refuse to pay another penny for this vehicle to be repaired; there have been far too many problems with this "new" vehicle with less than 49,000 miles on it.i have also emailed doan chevy withmy complaintsl.i really would hope that gm would stand by their products and respect their customers.so far i am not seeing this.i can not afford any more money to be spent on this; i just put $1000.00 into this truck in the last 6 weeks. It has had a complete tune up on june 23, 2005 this cost me $236.30.

Check engine service light repeatedly was occurring; it was fixed by replacing sensors. Third time check engine service appears again this time the factory"heads"in the motor had to be replaced.it always seems to be some ongoing type of default or defect with this vehicle.

Tie rod end- drivers side.lso have problem with left brake light- replaced bulb and keeps going outignition switch locked up now engine and coil pack blown-- engine oil pressure light never came on to alert of impending problem.

I have had my tahoe in the the dealer several times.where to begin.we have had middle seat latches catch and need to be replaced, the front dash and radio bubbled up and peeled...that was replaced.a component in the steering column was replaced when the car would just up and die everytime you turned left.that was replaced.the back window latch broke while on vacation.it too was replaced.all the seat/seatbelt recalls were repaired.then on 5/18/03 our power steering went out without any warning.they replaced it on 5/19/03 at the dealer.we took it back in on 5/30 with the complaint of it still not "feeling" right.it was hard to turn to the left.they found no problem.then on 7/13/03 while driving with a car full of boys, then the car died and started on fire.the 2 men, both whom have backgrounds as mechanics that help me said that it the universal joint on the power steering box was rubbing against the positive battery cable.once it rubbed thru the insulation the car caught fire. They had to disconnect the battery before they were able to tow the car because everytime the wheel moved a little it began sparking again.also, they had to end up towing it from the front because the steering column wouldn't lock up when the ignition was off, so, they couldn't tow it from the back.

On december 2, 2005 i was traveling to work using my typical route highway 74 also known as the ortega highway when coming to a sharp and narrow curve my brake pedal did not work and my steering was locked.i was not able to control the direction of my vehicle as a result the vehicle merged to on coming traffic and tumbled four times .

To whom it may concern:i have a 2001 pontiac grand am that has problems starting.every time i try to start my car the security light comes on and i have to sit their for ten minutes while it resets itself.i wouldn't have mind if it was only once, but it's not.it continually does it.i'm not the only one having this problem.many people who i have spoken to with a pontiac grand am are having the same problem.could you please look into it.thank you very much for your time.very truly yours, karen.

Speed sensor went bad at 45,000 miles on a 2005 impala.repaired the problem and found it caused the instrument control panel to be in-operable and need to replace that.wipers also park in upright position.no defect codes found.

I was driving on california highway 101 south when on an incline, my motor on my saturn 2000 l suddenly stopped working.i had it hauled to my saturn dealer, and was told several days later that the timing chain broke and the entire motor needed to be replaced.

Faulty fuel gauge sensor, as well as a faulty instrument panel. The fuel gauge indicates there is no fuel when i have just filled up my 2006 gmc envoy. Started with filling up my suv and after i got gas, the gauge dropped to empty with the bell chiming low fuel. The check engine light stays on constantly even after having the car serviced. It goes off intermittently. Definitely dangerous as you do not know when you will run out of gas, especially with traveling with young children.

Front wheel bearings wore out in less than 50,000 miles.i of other owners withthis is problem of sonoma's and s-10',

I have owned a 2000 buick lesabre for 2 1/2 years.i have now had (3) door window motors fail during this time period.the cost for repair is over $400 each!

Second incident with faulty abs module. The dealer charged over $2000 to fix in 2005 and i am having the same problem. The dealer states the part is no longer under warranty gm is putting defective parts in cars continuously and overcharging customers to have this problem fixed.

I was involved in an accident on july 16, 2007.i had my car towed .i was told it would take 1-11/2 weeks to repair.i later called to check on my 2002 cadillac seville.i was told they could not repair my car because the headlight was on a national backorder.they said there were no headlights available.my insurance covered a rental car for 30 days.i was then told i would be responsible for a car.it was suggested that i call cadillac customer service.i did so.i spoke with patricia paquette and was given a serv. Req. # of 71-562847807.she said she would check on my problem and return my call in 24 to 72 hrs.she called back and said she was referring my call to the next level and nkemdilim nwankwo would handle it..she said i should get a call in 24 ro 72 hours.this person never called.i called back and left a message on voice mail at ext. 11310.idid not receive a call. I was put in contact with ms. Garcia.ext 11442.she said she would check and call back..she did not call.i called again several times and did not get a call back. I asked to speak to her supv..the serv. Rep. Said i could not speak to any supv.r, but that she would ask her supv. To contact ms. Garcia's supv. And ask them to call me.i have not yet spoken to a supv.i got a message on my answering machine at home ( after asking everyone to call my cell #) that said the person was calling for ms. Garcia and t the part may be available at the end of november.during this time, i have been given several possible dates.i thought car companies wereto provide safety equipment for their cars. I have been without my car for over 4 months.i can not get satisfactory information or service from cadillac.i am sure there must be some recourse.i cannot safely operative my car without this part. . my attorney suggested i contact the national transportation safety board.you were the choice from them to file a vehicle complaint.

Speedometer stopped working.

On 03/21/2007 i was coming from work and smelled gasoline, on having my vehicle checked by a local mechanic, it was discovered that the fuel rail and the fuel line had become disengaged.as i had the fuel rail changed under a recall order back in 11/2007, i contacted the dealer that had completed the work back then.i was advised that if it was their fault the repairs would be made at no charge.if not i would be charged $75 per hr.it was agreed that the dealer would pick up the vehicle on 03/22/2007.as of 03/25/3007 my vehicle had still not been picked up.i am unable to drive said vehicle because of "gasoline" squirting out from the disconnection andpouring out on the highway and on the vehicle.

I reported this to the buick dealer once beforeand they said there was no recall. The cruise control hangs and accellerates. It is all you can do to get it stopped.i quit using it for a long time and tried it again recently and almost rear ended another car.the dealer said they would not even know where to start looking for the problem.

I bought a new 1999 chevrolet suburban 1500lt in january 2000. Within the first year, the brakes had to be replaced. I have endured this annual replacement of brakes ever since. Six replacements have occurred and now we are looking at the 7th. The vehicle only has 75,000 miles. It is serviced at bredaman chevrolet in park ridge, il each time. Each time they tell me nothing is wrong with the braking system although they have replaced it twice for free.

Fly wheel and speedometer.

June 2006 the fuel pump stopped working when i was driving on the freeway, i was towed to the garage we normally use for maintenance.they replaced the fuel pump we did not pursue this under the original warranty on the vehicle - big mistake!in january 2009 the fuel gauge stopped working and again we stopped on the freeway and had to be towed.this time it was the fuel gauge. The fuel pump cannot be replaced under warranty as this was just for one year.we were advised to use the trip mileage to fill fuel tank.we have had two failures both at approximately 30mths.

Thanks to a friend who had informed me about this website i have learned some new and interesting things about my car. I have also decide to share with you an accident with you that now i am not so sure was an accident but yet a possible malfunction of my car. In dec. Of 2007 i was in apassenger side impact. My abs braking system never came on. Was told that the reason might of been because it was snow and ice not rain. When i tried to slow my car the back tires slide shifting my car side ways into other lane. My car was then fixed by tom gill chevrolet and sent back to me. One week later i had a friend ride with me and came to find out that my seat belt had been broken. It was taken back and fixed.

Pontiac v6 - 2008 - power steering problems.power steering actually quit completely a couple times.other times, the steering wheel with try toturn back and forth by itself either when driving or in park.purchased brand new. Has run well until september 2010.no reports or complaints have been found on vehicle.no recalls when i called dealership.

Vehicle when placed in four wheel drive, does not engage front wheels and in fact does remain in only two-wheel drive.thiscreates a dangerous situation because on snowy roads particularly in rural areas, for example, the vehicle can become unsafe to drive.

I have a 1999 chevy silverado k1500 extended cab.i bought it in the summer of 2002.by january of 2003, i began having trouble with the abs kicking in when is was slowing down to a stop.the roads were not wet or slippery and i almost went into traffic several times (i have also almost hit a parked car pulling in a parking space, and almost went over a steep embankment since then).i paid over $300 in february 2003 to have them fixed and that lasted until february of 2004.when i almost went over the steep embankment at my local grocery store when i was pulling into aparking space, i decided to pull the fuse.the only problem with this is that you don't have cruise any longer.i finally decided i had to get it fixed because we wanted the cruise feature so i got it fixed in december of 2004.by that time, the chevrolet dealers are finding out there is a problem and they just need to clean out the sensor which now costs about $75 (the dealership i bought the truck from wouldn't even admit there was a problem).the big problem is that i do not know when they will give me problems again and i am still a little afraid to drive my truck.i have 2 young children and i would hate to be in an accident and hurt them because of something that chevy knows about and refuses to deal with. I have been checking online, and i have noticed a lot of people are having the same problem.this is a serious problem that needs to be addressed before someone loses their life over it.

I have a 2005 chevorlet cobalt with approximately 76,000 miles. While driving the message display on the instrument panel flashes " power steering" and the car becomes very difficult to control. The steering is extremely tight. If i cycle power the problem resets but recurs almost immediately. This problem continues to happen every time the car is driven.

My name is crystal marie torres, and i purchased a 2007 chevy cobalt and it's barely going to be 2 years in december that i've purchased it! the power steering is already going out and the light appears. I don't believe if i'm paying for practically a new vehicle it shouldn't be doing this so soon. I've always done my best to take care of my vehicle, so why is the power steering failing!!! i got on the internet to investigate this situation with other cobalt customers, they too are having the same issue.... Something needs to be done, otherwise there will be lawsuits going into action for false advertisement on such a great car! not fair to the public who has been nothing but loyal customers!!! help resolve this issue soon!!! here is the sight where others are posting their issues with the same conflict on their cobalts!http://www.topix.com.

Under normal, non-towing driving, the 2007 tahoe (with 27,000 miles) would not go forward when placed into drive.as a result, my family is presently unable to use the vehicle and it was towed to a dealership for repairs.this occurred after the transmission was completely replaced at about 12,000 miles for the same problem.

Vin: 2gcec19mmow1189772 ext. Cab chevy 1998. Brake fluid line to therear wheel failed. 14 pin size holes due to alt and corrosion. Brake pedal was always "spongy". Brakes failed two weeks ago.

The emergency brakes on my truck have only been actually used 4-5 times.they do not hold and i'm told will not pass my annual safety inspection. I have been told by several mechanics (and confidentially by a service rep at a dealer) that the design of the gmc and chevrolet emergency brake system is poorly designed and whether engaged or not , the brakeshoes are continously in contact w/the drums, causing them to wear out very quickly - becoming completely useless and very expensive to repare and replace - not to mention very dangerous.

I took my son to school and after i drop him off,my speedometer stopped working! it was saying i was going 120 miles an hour! i call the dealership them told oh they go out all of the time?

The seat belt on the back right side sometimes doesn't retract. Also, i was at a stop light and my driver side window opened on itsown. Now the window won't close. The biggest complaint i have is that i had to purchase a fuel composition sensor which cost me $600.00. The truck wouldn't pass inspection with out it because the mil light was on, even though it passed emissions. The dealership was going to charge me 400.00 to install the sensor. We figured out how to install it on my own save some money.

The 2006 chevroletimpala had a technical bulletin on a power steering hose i was never notifed off.the hose exploded, and the car could not move.it was towed to the 1st dealership.they said it was fixed, but it would not steer out of the bay.they flushed the power steering unit, and with days it would not steer properly.i took it to another dealership, which after two visits, determined it needed a new power steering pump.thenthe acceleratorstuck to the floor while turning.the car was taken to the dealership and a new accelrator was installed.the vehicle was returned to me again and athe steering went out, this time, i nearly hit a telephone pole while turning.the dealership took the car in and replaced the rack and pinion.the car again did not steer properly, and i nearly hit a phone pole on the way home.at one point the second dealership put over 200 miles on the vehicle.gm said the carwas.in operating order . T had less than 17,000 miles on it, and demanded i pick up the vehi or be charged storage fees.i have nearly wrecked the car due to mechanical defectson three seperate occasions.

Front bearing hubs failure. Front suspension failure, front break system failure.

Fuel gauge malfunctions, does not show an accurate reading, never know how much fuel is in tank.popping noise comes from fuel tank upon shutting off the vehicle.

Ebcm failure - abs pump runs continuously and will run down the battery.2nd time ebcm has failed on this vehicle.called 800 number for chevy - they would not help me.dealer wants $1100 to fix.

I was sold a used car in florida with deployed airbags. I need help in getting this problem corrected. The shop that fixed the car as well as the used car dealer say that they don't have to do anything and i beg to differ as they represented the car as being fixed 100%.

Rear tail light fills with water and fogs up causing lights to not be seen good...

My 2000 montana van would not start at 18000 miles after towing twice to the dealer found connector to fuel pump bad.then at 20000 miles wire harness to fuel pump.then at 25000 miles fuel pump went out.now at 55000 mile the van suddenly stalled driving at 65 miles an hour making steering and braking difficult.dealership found fuel pump out.the last time the bill was 870.00 total.gm has said that they will pay 50% of the repairs minus towing.i feel that this is a defect that has been apparent since the beginning and that they should pay for the entire cost of the repair and tow.this is also a safety problem because my wife nearly lost control of the van when the pump went out.

May 30,2007 was the worst time with my car, it was raining really hard, my car started to act up like usual my a/c wouldn't work it was really humid and about 85 degrees and i got to a town and shut off the car and disconnected the battery as usual also and nothing happen and this went on for 2 hours and still nothing happened the worst part about this is i had my 6 month old daughter with me, my fiance is out of town we are an hour from home and my friend has a flat tire and my parents on vacation i had no ride or any body to call and i couldn't call a tow service because i only had $10.00 to my name i had to bundle my daughter up in her blanket and start walking home, i walked for about 20mins before any one stopped to pick us up.i am so sick and tired of this happening and would like this problem to be resolved buti don't think it should have to be at my expense when it obviously is not just happening to me! please please help me !! ijust don't know what to do!!! akl

2003 chevy silverado - poor steering- i have replaced the gearing box w/front end alignment due to having 4 estimates and advised that the gear box was defected. 6 months later - i have been advised by several certified mechanicsthat the gear box that was put in is also defected. Poor steering control, truck pulls all over the road which could result in a crash. If the steering boxes for this year/make vehicles are defected, why not compensate the owners for all the expenses. It is obvious that these parts for this year vehicle is in fact defected. How many complaints/accidents/injuries does it take before these issues are acknowledged? i have spent over $1,500.00 just in the braking and steering repairs and yet faced again with more cost or either get rid of my truck that i had for 1 year.

My 1999 chevy mailbu has had many problems. I will start with the 2 fuel injecters replaced 2 months after purchasing. The car begin to run rough then would have problems starting. Then there was the altanator, the thermostat, the head and intake gaskets and the numurous electical problems. The electrical problems still cannot be solved after numrous tripsto the repair shop. Most of the problems have been corrected on more than one occasion. As a consumer i hope you will help us malibu owners who are in destress.

Speedometer fluxuate sporadically, wrong speed showing.took to dealer, diagnosis as component failure. Gmc acknowledge problem, but refuse to recall. Dealer will replace odometer if less than 80,000 miles.

2006 malibu maxx lt. Power steering failure while hard acceleration. Had the problem since the first day it was purchased. Dealership cant duplicated the problem. We almost had 2 accidents because of this issue. Power steering message appears on the car system information.. The car always pulls hard to the right if the acceleration has to be done fast. The vehicle has currently 75,000 miles.

Wiring harness to heater is melting at plug to fan motor controls.replaced a year ago and its burnt the wiring harness again at same plug.

Started car, engaged auto trans and accelerated. Car moved approx 10 feet and stalled. Repeated several times.car was towed to dealer. The repair was to re-install the parts removed on 3/16/06 as part of the electronic column lock system recall issued by chevrolet.

Hazard lighting system, blinkers, cruise control all worked "great"up until i received a recall notice to bring my vehicle in for replacement part.i did as instructed and the part replaced, ever since then they shorted out when using my blinkers or cruise.when my blinker was going and just stopped..i have to push the hazard button in and out and they start working again. I several times took car back and dealership could not get it to malfunction, until finally they told me time had expired for fixing, even though i have history of repeatedly bringing in vehicle.there was nothing wrong with my perfect car until, i took car to dealership.

2006 chevrolet impala transmission failure at 62,700 miles.

Front drivers seat heated up all the time, dealer unhooked the drivers and passerger seat heaters connection, then theback doors wouldn'tunlock or back windows won't let down, now the back drivers window falls down automatic without pressingbutton .

Chey cavalier has abs light on for as long as i have owned the car and it has been in a accident.also it has fail many times i called the company for answers but no one has help.

2004 buick regal stops while driving. Key was stuck in ignition and repaired at local dealer in macon. Vehicle now shuts off while driving at speed at 45 mph or more.

I am having the same problem with my 2006 trailblazer ls ext as listed in your 11/08/04 recall with the 2002-04 chevrolet trailblazers concerning my brake lights that didn't light up on the left side when the brake pedal is activated.the turn signal works and when the head lights are on the bulb lights up.is there a recall on this problem?

Headlights continually burn out. Replace every month!just replaced on 2 days ago and already out again! speedometer does not work.

Fuel gauge is not working properly. I have a full tank of gas and it reads empty.

I have a 2001 chevrolet blazer that recently had to be repaired. I feel that a recall item should cover cost of the repair. The chevrolet customer representative that i spoke to said that it is not covered by the recall. In a nutshell, the symptoms that the car had are exactly the same as those mentioned in nhtsa campaign id number : 01v364000. Both rear, outside stoplights stopped working. The center stop and the turn signals worked fine. I had the car repaired at a cost of $470.29. On the invoice the item replaced is a multifunction switch?

The speedometer needle on my 2003 gmc sierra truck is stuck at 140 mph. I was stopped by a police officer for an unrelated incident and was issued a citation for having a broken speedometer. I need to get it fixed, but gmc dealer is not cooperating.

I was driving down a 4 lanes highway heading home at 2:30p.m. As i proceeded to slow down for a red light, all the lighs in the vehicle flashed and then everything went out, including my power steering and brakes. Luckly no cars were to my right and i was able to turn the stiff wheel some and jump a crib. I then had to use my parking brake to stop the vehicle.

Please refer to recall#03v327000 or gm recall number 03043. My 2000 oldsmobile alero is affected with the problem. But i have not received a recall notice. When i contacted gm they refuse to perform the required repair. I continue to have the problem of turn signal and hazard lamp intermittent not working. This implies the gm has not done a exhaustive work of identifying all affected cars.

This documents an ongoing scenario regarding the cruise control switch, p/n spo 022608614.on 1/25/01 had the switch replaced [woodard chev, fairfield, ca] because the switch was inoperative .the same switch was inoperative after a vehicle service on 5/17/02 [pearson auto, sunnyvale, ca].i have not replaced the switch for a 3rd time, because i feel this switch will fail after another engine service activity.i do not want to continue to pay for faulty designed parts, or pay for service inadequacies which lend to other component failures.this switch appears to be faulty in that the part has a short service life, or there is a flaw in the service process which ultimately renders the switch inoperative.would like this remedied.thank you!

Window switches and motors have failed 4 times therefore needing replacement.

We have taken our daughters cobalt to the dealer 3 times because the power steering keeps going out. It is placing our daughter is serious danger. We have spent close to $1000.00 on this issue. It went out in december and we took it back to the dealer and they said nothing was wrong with it. It went out again today.

I bought my chevy blazer in may of 2001.we had a recall for theexterior lighting: brake lights: switch.we brought it back to thedealer we bought it from and they did replace it.we are having theproblems with the same part once again (no brake lights).we called thedealer and they're telling us this part is not covered.if there'sstill a problem with it, which i understand we're not the only onesreporting this, why wouldn't this be covered?my husband has owned hisgm truck for over 10 years and has never had to replace this part.whywould a newer vehicle have to replace it twice within a 4 year period?please advise.

Since date of purchase i have had problems w/the tail lamp bracket housing assembly.this problem was corrected, i thought when i brought back the vehicle on date of purchase, such was not the case, the tail lamp bracket housing continued to burn out.i stressed to the repair facility at saturn that there is a problem.finally i received a recall letter in 2005 for this defect (tail light housing bracket). I have already had the vesicle for 2 years prior to the recall, in 2005, it still burns out 3 bulbs at a time usually a week or month after repair. It is now 2006 and i still have the same problem.the vehicle was repaired at no cost to me only because i have addressed the problem with the manager of the dealership (repair department), but they have only noted the repair twice; so every time the assembly unit goes out they try and charge me for the repair!...now the car is nearly paid off and i still have this problem.obviously this is a defectthat can't be repaired. My repair localeis saturn of massepequa, ny.

Com-plaint about gmc product...please note i have made numerous complaints to oldsmobile customer service about a problem which i had and still is having with my oldsmobile achieva.i have been stonewalled, and my complaints with this pdoruct after a device was installed in my steering column by a olds dealer after i received a recall notice over 2 years ago.i wanted them togive me stipnd of approx $850.00 which is fair and i would taake it to an independent mechanic forhis diagnosos and repir.. So far they in other words told me to go to hell!!!

I have a 2003 avalanche and out of the blue one daythe tachometer started shooting up to 6000rpms, and thenthe speedometer started ticking instead of moving smoothly, and now it stays at 0 once i am driving for 5 - 10 minutes.(1)not sure what lead to it.. It just started happening out of the blue(2) i can not tell how fast i am going(3) nothing has been done i have spoken with 3 people in my office andlooked at forums and many people are having this issue and nothing is being done by gm i will never purchase another chevy if this isnt resolved and i am only 25.

Speedometerquit working , indicator needle goes up and down, even when car is parked.

I have a 2001 astro awd that was taken to meineke brake care center where the brake system was analyzed.the front driver (abs) wheel sensor needed replaced. Note prior to having this done the (abs) light came on therefore i knew that something was wrong because at a very slow stop the brake would release itself and would allow the vehicle to continue to move. After meineke analyzed the problem i had the brake sensor replaced, and the (abs) light went off and the brakes seemed to be working normal again. However just one week ago i was driving and came to a very slow stop, mind you the light (abs) is off and the vehicle would not stop and the brakes released all the way causing me to run into a fence. However, luckily no on was hurt or property damaged caused but without warning this could have been much more serious traveling behind another vehicle or large truck. The brakes has once again been analyzed for problems and the sensor that was replaced shows no issues. Can this possibly be a manufacturing issue that no one has reported? please advise with any information regarding this matter, it would be much appreciated.

Driver's side front window regulator replaced 5/21/07also on 12/23/05 -driver'sside rear windowregulator replaced . On 9/23/05 driver's side front window regulator replaced. All repairs has totalled $ 1, 814.47in less than 2 years.

I purchased 2002 malibu new nov 2001. Turn signals quit working once in 2002.reoccurred 3-4 times in 2003.2004 occurred 6-8 times.2005 occurred at least once a month until oct-dec when signals malfunction weekly. Jan 2006, signals malfunction 1-3 time a day sometimes.vehicle has approx 32,000 miles.cycling the hazard switch usually once or twice cures the problem.called dealer nov 2005, but no recall on 2002 malibu for this problem.

A 2005 pontiac g6- the electric power steering system failing sporadically. Contacted gm (phone) refused to accept repair/replace the unit, citing time/mileage.

Thanks

Check engine service light repeatedly was occurring; it was fixed by replacing sensors. Third time check engine service appears again this time the factory"heads"in the motor had to be replaced.it always seems to be some ongoing type of default or defect with this vehicle.

Front drivers seat heated up all the time, dealer unhooked the drivers and passerger seat heaters connection, then theback doors wouldn'tunlock or back windows won't let down, now the back drivers window falls down automatic without pressingbutton .

Vehicle made a loud pop noise.steering shaft was replaced at 35,000 miles due to a defective steering shaft.vehicle is now at 70,000 miles and needs to be replaced again.i contacted chevy and was issued a case number.they advised me a chevy dealer diagnostic was required.chevy dealership confirmed steering shaft again needed to be replaced, however head office denied my request.a steering shaft almost never needs to be replaced in a vehicle, since the time of my replacement at 35,000 miles alterations have been made to their replacements.this would indicate a manufacturer defect.

While driving my 2000 gmc jimmy my girlfriend was involved in an accident. She came around a corner and had to come to a quick stop, when she hit the brakes the pedal went right to the floor and she hit the vehicle in front of her. After the incident i took my vehicle to my mechanic, and he found the stem that comes off the master cylinder had broken off. He contacted the nhtsa and the agent agreed with him that this part should not have broke off. My vehicle was damaged severely and if this part did not break and the parts worked correctly this could have been avoided.

I have a 2004 (bought new) chevy van. We stopped on day and the back wheel was smoking. We called the dealer and took it in to be checked and they told us that the back brakes have never been attached.we were running only on front brakes.we just came back from a trip and to think we could have been killed.i was furious that such a thing could happen.they did attach the back brakes and i feel that since we were running on only front brakes, that the front brakes should be replaced by them.

Purchased new 2000 pontiac sunfire in 2000. In 2001 had to have the steering shaft replaced at warranty. Have complained over the next 3 years that steering still makes clicking noise when turning. Today took back to the dealer again and was told the steering shaft again has to be replaced. I'm a 63 year old woman and do not race or abuse my car.now i was also told the hub assembly needs to be replaced at the same time...costs approx 900.00. Why would these continue to break?

I was driving on the freeway at 70 mph in february 2004 at 10:pm.lost all power when the head manifold cracked injecting coolant into the engine.called for a wrecker and he took the 1998 delta 88 to the olds dealer in rochester michigan.the cost for the wrecker was 200.00 and the charge for repair was $2,500.00.the engine warning light is still on because of the coolant that was injected in the engine and converter.they said the only fix would be to replace the converter.another big expense.

2007 saturn ion has a power steering problem which cause the steering to lock and hard to steer it can not be repaired by putting in power steering fluid, it doesn't work the electrical light appears on the dash.this occurs after only 33,000 miles, and the only way to correct it is to put a new motor module and switch with a repair cost of $997.00. After surfing the internet, we are one of many who are experiences this problem.i ask if a death has to occur in order for this to become a recall vehicle. Incidentally, my 17 year old daughter was under the wheel when this happen to our car.please do not let a death happen to have a recall.i will continue writing my congressman, senator and who ever will listen.during my first complaint to the gm company, i had spoken to someone in canada a sales specialist who inform me that its nothing we can do about it and he had no knowledge of even aware of the vehicle make or model. If anyone get hurt because of this defect, we will take every legal matter necessary. Also, after having the repairs taken care of we had to take it back to have it replaced again after driving it for a week.another ne power steering module and motor had to be put back on again. Look at your complaints concerning this problem.

Envoy 360 speedometers 2004 reads im going 150 mph all the time.

2003 olds alero.at 35k miles, both front wheel bearings failed.upon taking it to the dealership for work, we were told that the front rotors and brakes also needed replacing.the bearings were replaced under warranty, but we were billed $400+ for brakes and rotors.i filed a complaint with the bbb and olds (after multiple calls) reimbursed us for half of the brake work.i was later told be a mechanic at the dealership that wheel bearing, rotor and pad failures were an ongoing problem with the alero and grand am.apparently gm did not feel it was worth standing behind.now we have added 15k miles since the repair, and the new factory replacement rotors are already warped and causing uneven braking and steering shimmy.stay away from this vehicle.

I purchased a 1999 chevrolet s10 blazer in march 2002. Since then, i have replaced a front end, a rear end and a transmission. Now i have to replace the rear end again.i have 143000 miles on this vehicle and i am not happy with it all. I would like something done by gm in regards to my plight. I have had gm cars most of my life and never had one as bad as this. I am ready to go to a foreign vehicle. This is undoubtedly the worst vehicle i have ever owned.

2000 oldsmobile intrigue gls heated leather seat ondriver's side got extremely hot and actually burnt the stitching in the leather seat, and burnt the surrounding leather, almost causing a skin burn.

The door comes unlatched from the pontiac montana mini vans w/o power slider also.subsequently my van door passanger side came open slamming off halfon the road and then remained attached to the top but the track wheel snapped off, making it inpossible to put on with out tools and the muscles to even lift it.

Reported earlier gas odometer broke when fueling vehicle on 2 seperate occassions, first time fixed, then again while fueling gas, it broke.failed to mention my problems with the speedodometer.it was fluctuating all the way up, then all the way down irratically before it dropped down to the middle.

Intake valve. Seal leaked , lost anti freeze almost over heated engine.

I was driving home and lost power to the steering wheel and i was unable to turn the steering wheel left or right.very stiff and pulled off to the side of the road.i called roadside assistance to come get me, after waiting 20 minutes, i turned it back on and the wheel was free to move again.this occured a second time last week when i started my car in the morning.i turned it off and on several times and finally it worked.the car is very unsafe and i was afraid to drive it as it may happen again going a faster speed.currently the car is now at the shop looking at the power steering mechanism that is bad. It is a recall and already replaced and is bad again.this is a serious problem where the car can stop working at anytime which gives you no control over the vehicle.

This information pertains to a chevy ck 3500 crew cab 4x4 dully purchased new in 2000.at 1,923 miles the original factory front brake pads were worn out and replaced under warranty.at 3,108 miles the rotor assembly was replaced.again, at 7,709 miles the front disc pads had to be replaced.at 11,596 miles front disc pads, rear shoes and linings.at 20,317 miles front pads again along with replacement of h1320 booster assembly.at 24,977 miles front pads and h0780 brake valve replaced. At 35,000 miles one more set of front disc brake pads before the warranty ran out and the general cut me loose. Since the warranty expired, it has continued to be a front brake job between every 6,000-10,000 miles.

Rotors are warping every 10,000 miles or less, truck vibrates when braking, rotors were repaired or replaced 4 times .i am worried about an underlying problem that could cause an accident.

2000 chevrolet malibu, 20,000 miles - dealership informed me that they had to replace the front brake rotors again. This is the third set of rotors. It is not covered under warranty (i bought extended warranty) and there are no recalls. This is a problem specific to malibu's of this time period. 3 sets of brake rotors in 20,000 miles? unheard of and absolutely qualifies for a "lemon part". This should be paid for by gm, but instead it is a profit stream for them. Can you help?

In september of 2007 i had noticed popping and clunking noise when turning right or left. Was informed that it was my steering shaft. That all was need was a lube job. Just recent in against of 2008 same problem same fix. This recurring problem has me worried for my safety that something is not right.

Subject power window motor/regulator failure due to cold weather conditions. No warranty recall assistance from gmc/chevy, basic warranty coverage, afterwards you are on your own. Expensive recurring problem in cold weather conditions. You live with the fact that in cold weather the windows must stay up. If some one happens to be with you and you don't let them know quick enough or they forget the chances are good that you will be in for an expensive repair. Your wife take the truck like today, your 16 year old decides to crack the window a little and boom i am not a happy camper this sunday. Power window cable, motor, regulator bracket unit one piece replacement is a poor light weight cable design. I have a 2001 gmc sierra z71 4x4 extended cab,a friend has the same truck plus recently purchased a new one maxed out with every thing, another friend has a 2005 k1500 hd we all have experienced the same problems. The 2005 came into my shop for lube service recently one cold new york morning to have the drivers side window regulator unit fail and return to the dealer to warranty the item and when the truck was moved out to be picked up in the parking lot, the technician closed the driver's side door just to have the passenger side window fall down into the door with the same problem. I purchased the 2001 with 39,000 miles from a gm dealer approximately. 3 years ago and have experienced window problems in cold weather constantly as others i know with the same type of trucks. This problem needs to be addressed and corrected promptly. I personally would not by another brand truck and chevy/gmc truck have been my grandfathers choice as well as my own.

I own a 2004 chevy malibu when starting vehicle the service engine light engages and the console indicator chimes reading power steering.this occurs every time i start the car now.i have replaced the steering column 2 times since taking ownership of vehicle in february 2008.both steering columns were genuine gm parts installed by a certified technician.work performed in 5/08 and 10/08 totaling some $3000.00. Paid another dealer $51.56 to adjust and calibrate sensor. It was ok for the summer.late fall 2009 began coming on intermediately again. Now it comes on each time you start the car and yesterday i actually lost power steering while driving the car.i had lost the power assist steering a total of 4 times now.this is very dangerous.someone could get hurt here.

2006 chevrolet impala transmission failure at 62,700 miles.

The brakes on my gmc pick up are junki disconnected the abs fuse to stop the no pedal feeling the truck was out of warrentee and i can't afford to fix it and still pay on the truck.

A block from my driveway i realized my brakes were gone. I had just enough fluid remaining to drive a few blocks to a mechanic. After checking the leak i was advised that all brake lines needed replacing due to rust. I was very lucky that this did not happen in differebt circumstances.

About 2 1/2 years ago i had to replace both front wheel bearing hubs. On 12/29/04 i had to have the right bearing hub replaced for the second time. I do not recall the mileage the first time. I had about 129,000 on this time.

Transmission clunking in 2-3 up shift or 3-2 downshift, mush louder when towing my trailer it sounds like its going to exployedbrakes: brake pedal is on the floor very very weak cannot stop truck on a quick brake 2003 chevy silverado 4x4 xcab.

Erratic fuel gauge problem started at 110,000 miles on 2006 gmc envoy sle awd and was noted on a dealership visit. Unfortunately now has 150,000 miles when the . Vehicle has run out of fuel on freeway with wife and children, and almost caused several accidents. It has required numerous aaa calls for fuel over the past years and has created a many hours of inconvenience and lost of work.me and my wife have been stranded on the roadside over 15 times due to faulty fuel readings. Problem has been too costly to repair so we have to now rely on resetting the trip odometer. This isa safety concern that should be more than a safety bulletin for only vehicles up to 120,000 miles. This is a farce to the gmc and chevy owner community. Is the nhtsa waiting for people to die before making this a total recall to pay for repairs for all owners of these products?this is a failed design that must be corrected for public safety sake.please work with the manufacturers to address this issue fairly, equitable, and honestly. Thank you. And may god have mercy on those with the power to make the right choice to do the right thing for the consumers of these products.thank you again.

The steering system grinds when turning, can fill every litte bump in steering wheel, had the tires and steering replaced. Fixed promblem only momentarily. When there are cold temperatures the promblem is worse. Lights have always flickered. Have had many quality repairs on car. Car as died twice while driving.

This 2000 buick century was purchased in 2000. Andfrom the start it began to have serious issues with the engine, and transmission.causing the engine to be completely rebuilt at on 10,000 miles. The transmission went out at 5.000 miles and needed to be replaced.since that time the car has had a total of 6 transmissions. One being replaced at the dealer just after they had installed the 3 transmission. The car never left the lot and needed repair.

The cables that hold my 1997 chevy tailgate up continues to break because of poor construction material. I was standing on the tailgate when both cables gave way because of corrision, the sudden drop of the tailgate made me fall on the ground.this will be the fourthset of cables that i have had to purchase for this truck.

Regarding cpi failure: check "o" ring behind fuel pressure regulator(rough idle, loss of power, reduced gas mileage; fuel in manifold; when testing fuel pressure it drops almost instantly when fuel pump shuts off) pretty easy to mistake for a cpi failure.

We have owned 2000 blazer since 0/6/2001 2nd owner bought with less than 19000 miles on it. Multi-function switch replaced because of recall acts up when bulbs are weak. We are on the third set of upper ball joints none paid for by warranty. Left hub assembly failure which resulted in abs malfunction fixed by extended warranty. Driver door hinge assembly rusted would not close without force fixed but not covered by any warranty. Suspect driver side is starting to fail again because of the loud squeaking. Most important! passenger side door has developed same problem and will not shut correctly. On may 01,2006 after picking up my 12 year old nephew we were to starting to down the street when passenger door flew open!!!! i am afraid to let anyone sit in front until this is fixed! the hinges and pins appear to be getting wet and rusting . Also all rotors have had to be replaced on this vehicle . This blazer has only 88,000 miles on it. I have decided to include all problems but am most concerned about doors, if we had been going faster i am afraid my nephew would have fallen out of vehicle!!!

I have a 07 chevy cobalt and i was driving on the express way when my power steering light can on and as i was turning the wheel it locked up. I was very afraid do to the fact that my child was in the car. I pulled over on the shoulder and turned the car off. I didn't know what to do but i couldn't stay on the eway. When i started it back up the wheel loosened up but sure enough a couple miles down the road it did the samething. I am sending this complaint because i think thatis very dangerous especially when you are trying to turn a corner or even switch lanes. In doing research about the part i located a site "topix chevy cobalt steering failure" were there is over five hundred post about the same thing. But yet recall on this car. When will they recall it when someone is seriously hurt or even killed!!!!

Two years ago my 2002 chevrolet cavalier(then two years old) had the barrel that the key goes into on the steering column break. Now, two years later it has happened again.

This 2000 saturn ls1 was purchased new 1/12/00.on 3/20/01 and 23655 miles, the car was taken to the dealer due to clutch pedal low to the floor and it was difficult to shift gears. They replaced the concentric slave cylinder. On 5/28/02 and 46235 miles, the car was taken to the dealer due to ses light on and running rough in r, 1rst, and 2nd gear.they replaced the concentric slave cylinder. On 11/29/04 and 79906 miles, the car had to be towed to the dealer due to the clutch pedal not holding pressure and the gears could not be shifted.they replaced the concentric slave cylinder. The same part is failing every 20 to 30 thousand miles with no explanation from the saturn service reps.

The abs have failed again.they were recalled in 2005 - 06 and the "fix" of cleaning them was obviously not the correct way of handling the problem.there has been no incidents as of now but there will be.

I have 52,000 mile on my vehicle and have to replace the brake system for the third time.not including the price of this thrid replacement the brakes and tire package is costing $40 per mile.the brake system is unreliable and the manufacturer repairman states the casue is the weather conditions of new york. If the weather is the reason for poor brake performance then the manufacturer should modify the system or not sell the vehicle in new york.

- the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet impala ls.on 03/30/07 while driving 55 mph on a clear, dry day the front passenger's side tire blew out.they were able to pull to side of the road, and raised the vehicle to change the tire.they were able to put the spare tire on the vehicle, and were in the process of putting on the lugs nuts when the vehicle dropped from the jack, and snapped the jack on both ends.when the vehicle fell, the tire well hit the driver on the head and shoulder causing injury.the spare tire came off and knocked the driver forward.the front passenger's side rotor fell onto the pavement.she had to call 911 for police assistance.the state trooper raised the vehicle with his jack and was able to change the tire for the contact.the trooper looked at the jack, and believed it to be defective.the contact has the trooper's information available if the nhtsa investigators need to contact him.the contact filed a complaint with gm, and she was given case# 71-506141092.the current mileage was 52,507 miles.

Pontiac v6 - 2008 - power steering problems.power steering actually quit completely a couple times.other times, the steering wheel with try toturn back and forth by itself either when driving or in park.purchased brand new. Front and rear brake rotors rusting on 2000 chevy silerado 4x4. Dealer replace rear only last year. I wanted all 4 replaced then. Just had a close call with stopping distance. Inspected brakes and found rear rotor rusted completely and front inside of rotors rust.

The check engine light came on and my engine locked up and radiator fluid was coming out of the head gaskets on the engine with no prior warning. This is the second time within 4 years that this has happened with this car.

On sept 10 2005 i took my car to have a tune up done on it and the mechanic told my husband that the rear end of my vehicle was about to go. I had just purchased the vehicle about 7 months prior to this happening and i have been told that this should not have happened on a 2000 chev blazer, with that low of mileage.i had notified the dealership where i purchased the car and they in turn wanted to put me into another vehicle but that is not what i wanted i had wanted them to fix my car the one that they had sold to me. I want to know if there is anything that can be done to get my car to run right, so that i may use it and not pay for one to sit in my drive way. And i wanted to find out if this happened to any other 2000 chev blazers? sincerely yours susan burgos.

Headlight lamp socket does not work . When i purchased car august 2005 had to bring the car back the next day. They fix but september 2006 headlight stop working again.i'm paying 344.00 monthly payment dealership wont take car back.

01 pontiac grand pirx gt(4door)bought the carin may 01 (50miles)brand new in kernersville nc @vestal pontiac.the steering kept poping like a ankle would do if you turned it and made it pop.i constantly had them check the car andi have documents to prove it.i lost control of the car on june26,02 (32 miles on the car)the day after last complaint.ilost control on the interstate at 60pmh going into a left turn.i did (4)360's and hit the inside cement wall almost head on in the midle of hwy.no air bags came out.most the demage was facial , and engine cradle related(repaired).no steering components were demaged.the only steering compent was fixed was broke in half causeing the steering wheel to do a complete 360 turn.i had no control of the car when i wrecked.this componentwas not connected to my front wheels or steering.the steering sector that broke is a male /female compent that is suppose to collapse if hit by human.this section came away and broke the tooth off of the male cuaseing no connection from steering wheel to front end in the dash board /inner cab firewall area.the male should have drove down into the female piece when hit in front end(notcome out as if hit in the reaer and i jerked up on the steering wheel).i have picture of the defected part in the car as well the part.i sold the car this past aug04.i lostfinacially, and my insurance is killing me.gm had the car under investigation.nevergot a answer that made sence from them.nationwide did 10 grand repairs on the car and was never right.please help me or warn/find others .

Terrible knocking in turning steering wheel--repaired under warranty--statesshaft, intermediate replace-mileage was 35k now at 55k same problem only louder and wheel seems loose--called dealer--needs to replace shaft again for a cost of $300--i drive my grandchildren to schooland take long trips--dealer said car is safe-i am about to make along trip and cannot get the car serviced until my return in a week--this is worrisome when i feel i could lose control of the car if something should break-why would a second drive shaft be faulty as was the first. I have read other complaints about this and my dealer says it is happening to a lot of 2004 suburbans and they expect a recall.

The problem is that my 2004 chevrolet trail blazer spits up fuel back out of the fuel tank after filling up the tank. I am not trying to top off. Everytime i fill up, fuel spits back out from the tank after i remove the fuel pump. I have taken my car to the dealer twice now, they are on their third attempt to fix the problem.it happened several times before i took my car in to the dealer. I thought maybe it was the gas station i was using. So i tried several different pumps in different cities and the same thing happened. That's when i decided to take the car in for service.

2010 chevy traverse lt gas gauge is all over the place, was on the empty mark with about 1/8 tank gas left but gauge read full or my gauge to not read correctly; after filling, the gauge would not movethe opposite would occur also; the gauge would show the tank with more gas than what i actually had. Hey replaced the float and still not working in fact it's worse.

Please refer to recall#03v327000 or gm recall number 03043. My 2000 oldsmobile alero is affected with the problem. But i have not received a recall notice. When i contacted gm they refuse to perform the required repair. I continue to have the problem of turn signal and hazard lamp intermittent not working. This implies the gm has not done a exhaustive work of identifying all affected cars.

Headlight lamp socket does not work . When i purchased car august 2005 had to bring the car back the next day. They fix but september 2006 headlight stop working again.i'm paying 344.00 monthly payment dealership wont take car back.

Rear tail light fills with water and fogs up causing lights to not be seen good...

Fuel gauge is not working properly. I have a full tank of gas and it reads empty.

Regarding cpi failure: check "o" ring behind fuel pressure regulator(rough idle, loss of power, reduced gas mileage; fuel in manifold; when testing fuel pressure it drops almost instantly when fuel pump shuts off) pretty easy to mistake for a cpi failure.

Reported earlier gas odometer broke when fueling vehicle on 2 seperate occassions, first time fixed, then again while fueling gas, it broke.failed to mention my problems with the speedodometer.it was fluctuating all the way up, then all the way down irratically before it dropped down to the middle.

Fuel gauge malfunctions, does not show an accurate reading, never know how much fuel is in tank.popping noise comes from fuel tank upon shutting off the vehicle.

The door comes unlatched from the pontiac montana mini vans w/o power slider also.subsequently my van door passanger side came open slamming off halfon the road and then remained attached to the top but the track wheel snapped off, making it inpossible to put on with out tools and the muscles to even lift it.

Fly wheel and speedometer.

Transmission clunking in 2-3 up shift or 3-2 downshift, mush louder when towing my trailer it sounds like its going to exployedbrakes: brake pedal is on the floor very very weak cannot stop truck on a quick brake 2003 chevy silverado 4x4 xcab.

2006 chevrolet impala transmission failure at 62,700 miles.

Vehicle when placed in four wheel drive, does not engage front wheels and in fact does remain in only two-wheel drive.thiscreates a dangerous situation because on snowy roads particularly in rural areas, for example, the vehicle can become unsafe to drive.

A block from my driveway i realized my brakes were gone. I had just enough fluid remaining to drive a few blocks to a mechanic. After checking the leak i was advised that all brake lines needed replacing due to rust. I was very lucky that this did not happen in differebt circumstances.

Transmission clunking in 2-3 up shift or 3-2 downshift, mush louder when towing my trailer it sounds like its going to exployedbrakes: brake pedal is on the floor very very weak cannot stop truck on a quick brake 2003 chevy silverado 4x4 xcab.

Front bearing hubs failure. Front suspension failure, front break system failure.

Chey cavalier has abs light on for as long as i have owned the car and it has been in a accident.also it has fail many times i called the company for answers but no one has help.

Brake failure

Ebcm failure - abs pump runs continuously and will run down the battery.2nd time ebcm has failed on this vehicle.called 800 number for chevy - they would not help me.dealer wants $1100 to fix.

The abs have failed again.they were recalled in 2005 - 06 and the "fix" of cleaning them was obviously not the correct way of handling the problem.there has been no incidents as of now but there will be.

Second incident with faulty abs module. The dealer charged over $2000 to fix in 2005 and i am having the same problem. The dealer states the part is no longer under warranty gm is putting defective parts in cars continuously and overcharging customers to have this problem fixed.

Rotors are warping every 10,000 miles or less, truck vibrates when braking, rotors were repaired or replaced 4 times .i am worried about an underlying problem that could cause an accident.

Front and rear brake rotors rusting on 2000 chevy silerado 4x4. Dealer replace rear only last year. I wanted all 4 replaced then. Just had a close call with stopping distance. Inspected brakes and found rear rotor rusted completely and front inside of rotors rust.

In september of 2007 i had noticed popping and clunking noise when turning right or left. Was informed that it was my steering shaft. That all was need was a lube job. Just recent in against of 2008 same problem same fix. This recurring problem has me worried for my safety that something is not right.

Vehicle made a loud pop noise.steering shaft was replaced at 35,000 miles due to a defective steering shaft.vehicle is now at 70,000 miles and needs to be replaced again.i contacted chevy and was issued a case number.they advised me a chevy dealer diagnostic was required.chevy dealership confirmed steering shaft again needed to be replaced, however head office denied my request.a steering shaft almost never needs to be replaced in a vehicle, since the time of my replacement at 35,000 miles alterations have been made to their replacements.this would indicate a manufacturer defect.

The steering system grinds when turning, can fill every litte bump in steering wheel, had the tires and steering replaced. Fixed promblem only momentarily. When there are cold temperatures the promblem is worse. Lights have always flickered. Have had many quality repairs on car. Car as died twice while driving.

We have taken our daughters cobalt to the dealer 3 times because the power steering keeps going out. It is placing our daughter is serious danger. We have spent close to $1000.00 on this issue. It went out in december and we took it back to the dealer and they said nothing was wrong with it. It went out again today.

Two years ago my 2002 chevrolet cavalier(then two years old) had the barrel that the key goes into on the steering column break. Now, two years later it has happened again.

Started car, engaged auto trans and accelerated. Car moved approx 10 feet and stalled. Repeated several times.car was towed to dealer. The repair was to re-install the parts removed on 3/16/06 as part of the electronic column lock system recall issued by chevrolet.

A 2005 pontiac g6- the electric power steering system failing sporadically. Contacted gm (phone) refused to accept repair/replace the unit, citing time/mileage.

The cables that hold my 1997 chevy tailgate up continues to break because of poor construction material. I was standing on the tailgate when both cables gave way because of corrision, the sudden drop of the tailgate made me fall on the ground.this will be the fourthset of cables that i have had to purchase for this truck.

Front bearing hubs failure. Front suspension failure, front break system failure.

About 2 1/2 years ago i had to replace both front wheel bearing hubs. On 12/29/04 i had to have the right bearing hub replaced for the second time. I do not recall the mileage the first time. I had about 129,000 on this time.

Front wheel bearings wore out in less than 50,000 miles.i of other owners withthis is problem of sonoma's and s-10',

Wiring harness to heater is melting at plug to fan motor controls.replaced a year ago and its burnt the wiring harness again at same plug.

I reported this to the buick dealer once beforeand they said there was no recall. The cruise control hangs and accellerates. It is all you can do to get it stopped.i quit using it for a long time and tried it again recently and almost rear ended another car.the dealer said they would not even know where to start looking for the problem.

August 2008 - fan clutch failure, $800 dealership charge to fixoctober 2008 - blower motor failure, no heat or air on speeds 1, 2 & 4, only on settings 3 & 5, not sure if it is blower motor or switch.

Window switches and motors have failed 4 times therefore needing replacement.

I have owned a 2000 buick lesabre for 2 1/2 years.i have now had (3) door window motors fail during this time period.the cost for repair is over $400 each!

Driver's side front window regulator replaced 5/21/07also on 12/23/05 -driver'sside rear windowregulator replaced . On 9/23/05 driver's side front window regulator replaced. All repairs has totalled $ 1, 814.47in less than 2 years.

The door comes unlatched from the pontiac montana mini vans w/o power slider also.subsequently my van door passanger side came open slamming off halfon the road and then remained attached to the top but the track wheel snapped off, making it inpossible to put on with out tools and the muscles to even lift it.
