Problem was noticed the moring after the jimmy was refueled.upon inspection the rear seam of the fuel tank was rusted to the point of leaking fuel all over my garage, causing a strong gas smell.the cause appears to be that the two metal ( tank and frame) parts are to close allowing dirt and road residue to set in an impossible to clean area causing rust.with the gas dripping this could be a fire hazzard with the license plate wireing running close to the gas.

In the midst of braking on damp or wet (but without standing water) or muddy road surface, and without any warning, the brakes will cut out for a moment.it feels like you've hit an ice patch.one time i wound up stopping in the intersection rather than before it (with no resulting accident).i have had my mechanic check on two separate occasions.he cannot find anything that would cause this and we haven't had the right road conditions to attempt to duplicate this scary situation. Prior to completing this form, i saw the recall (nhtsa campaign id 99v193000) which seems to describe the problem i have been having so i called the gmc number given by nhtsa.gmc apparently does not consider nhtsa campaign id no. 99v193000 a real recall yet, and the service representative i talked to (at length) recommended i wait until the recall went into effect --if it goes into effect -- because otherwise my monetary output could be quite high and most likely, mostly unreimbursable (even if my car falls under the recall) since at this stage they don't know what they are looking for.can i get more information about this potential recall -- if there's a good chance that this recall will correct the problem then i guess i will just wait, but it does not, i'd like to know because i want to get the car fixed as soon as possible.thanks.(by the way, the mileage of the jimmy is an estimate -- i don't have the car with me right now.)
At any time, with no warning, the brake pedal will become hard as a rock, and will not depress, therefore providing no braking to the vehicle. This is the 3rd time this has happened, and each time the truck was taken back to the dealer for repairs. One recall repair was done to the truck abs system, but the same thing happened last night as i approched a toll booth at 55mph, with no brakes. I reserched your site, and found this seems to be a common problem with this vehicle, and not only this years production, causing accidents, and injuries. How many people are expendable before gm feels it is worth fixing?

Vehicle always exhibited extremely long stopping distances on any surface whenever abs engaged.abs unit failed after an instance of hard braking.whenever abs unit would engage, when it was still working, it felt like the truck would just keep going and going and never stop - a very, very scary feeling.it would cost over $1,200 to replace and gm dealer service person had told me that almost every unit had failed at one time or another; gm even reduced price for the replacement due to high demand.there is definitely something wrong with this picture - i paid extra for abs brakes when i bought the truck and they have been nothing but trouble.

I don't understand why my vehicle has the same problems but the vin was not included in the campaign?
