We have a 1999 gmc with a cracked engine block and cracked crankshaft.****dimsii ivoq entry posted after 12-12-02 cut over to artemis****761432

Vehicle may experience engine backfire due to damage to the engine air intake system.*mr if this occurred, it would result in engine compartment fire.*ph.the consumer stated the air filter and air cleaner was replaced. The consumer was instructed to take the vehicle to a gmc dealer to verify that the air cleaner and air filter had been replaced, the consumer received a recall from gmc who stated reimbursement would be issued once all the necessary paper was received.one month later, the consumer was informed the claim was for general maintenance and general motors did not pay for that and the claim was for a warranty item and the warranty had expired, therefore the claim was denied.

Manufacture malfunction assembled wrong and rubbed through aluminiun hose in less that 1 1/2 years.

The auragen is a new type of a/c generator built by aura systems, inc. (www.aurasystems.com). I am a former employee and it has not been safety tested for fatigue life.a failure could kill innocent bystanders on the road.i suggest you ask for fatigue analysis or fatigue test data before you allow them to be installed in vehicles.

Consumer complains of the repeated repairs made to correct the malfunctioning air conditioner, both front and rear.*jg

There are no indicator lights to alert the consumer if any of the door's are not properly closed.*jg

Automatic trans is slipping when coasting and then accelerating.engine races and then the transmission slams into low gear and upshifts immediately.has occurred 4 times in 10 months, cannot duplicate on demands.

This vehicle has already had one transmission replaced at 5800 miles and the brakes have been a problem for as long as we have leasing the vehicle.i have been told that there is nothing wrong with them.they squeak and sometimes go to the floor.i am preparing to get a break-job this week at my own expense.the transmission is acting up again (new trans) and i have an appointment to take it to the dealer again.this vehicle has been nothing but problems since we have owned it.complaints the first week of ownership to the deal for paint scratching with hand washing it.maybe no top coat was applied at the factory???i am getting nowhere with the dealship which is martin buick/gmc in fenton where i take it for service, but it is not the dealer we purchased it from (i don't recall), but i think the dealer was in pontiac, mich.

Consumer stated the positioning of the driver's seat adjustment panel at the front of the seat can lead to a serious accident if the driver tries to adjust the seat while the vehicle is in motion, one can not adjust the seat without bending down and looking away fromt he road.*jg

The drivers side seat latch under the seat is made of plastic, it will break in half and fall off. When the brakes are applied you will be slung into the steering wheel and then slide backwards and slung into the windshield again, even at 5 mph.

I was traveling on my job. I was in atlanta ga. And it was raining. Traffic slowed down and i lightly applied my brakes and they locked down causing the yukon to slide. I almost hit the vehicle in front of me. This has happened 5 times and it was raining everytime. The recall said it was only for up north. I travel north all the time on my job. But i live in alabama. So i think the recall should cover my 99 gmc yukon also.

I noticed that the abs pump under the drivers seat was running all the time.i'm confident that the abs was not working.my wife didn't notice the sound because it wasn't really loud.i unplugged the abs under the truck and drove it to a repair shop.i was told this is a common problem.when the garage picked up the part at the gmc dealership, they were told this is a common problem and they couldn't keep enough control modules in stock.this is a dealer part #88935872 "abs control module with a cost of $682.50.total cost of the repair was $839.77.(the dealer would have charged more).my first concern is that many drivers would not have noticed the problem and secondly i can't imagine that an abs control system would fail in just over 2 years and at only 44,000 miles.because this is obviously such a common problem i feel that general motors should be required to upgrade the system and/or offer an extended warranty on the abs.the dealer said many people just disconnect the abs rather than pay the high cost of repair.

Was driving through construction area at 40mph when another vehicle in front turned left & came to a stop. Slowed down & steering wheel started to shimmy & shake.abs brakes failed to stop right away. Had applied a light, but steady pressure on brakes. Brakes suddenly grabbed; this causedcargo to slam into the extended cab & caused extensive damage. Had taken vehicle to dealership prior to problem with brakes.gmc engineers came out/checked, and repairedbrakes. Had indicated no more problems. Now going through arbitration concerning problem and repairs.

The brake pedal went down to the floor several times, resulting in brake fading.yh

Consumer complains of the repeated repairs made to correct the grinding noise heard in the brakes.the booster assembly was replaced.the problem still exists.*jg

I have gone to the dealership several time with the truck shaking, and them agreeing it wasshaking with no solution offered.it appears to be worsening.the steering has been poor at best.the wheel when turning feels like there is play.having owned a 95 a 96 and now a 99 i feel that there is some thing wrong with the 99.what course of action do i have?
