As he was driving home, the dash lights and warning lights illuminated on the dashboard, and kept flashing, after the engine was turned off.the lights stopped flashing, after he put the key back in the ignition and turned the vehicle on.on a separate occasion, the air condition stopped working, the gauges went to zero and the dash lights continued to flash.

The consumer stated there are five ambulances in operation, all of which are general motors diesel chassis with module box patient compartments. In january 2010, government emissions regulations required engine manufacturers to incorporate a def diesel exhaust fluid system to reduce emissions from diesel engines. The system required the use of a urea based fluid that was added to an additional tank on the vehicle and the fluid was introduced into the exhaust system which caused a chemical reaction and reduced emissions.there were several issues that could have occurred with the system, including, but not limited to running out of fluid, poor fluid quality, and faulty fluid quality sensors. If the vehicle vehicle's computer detected an issue with the def system the vehicle may exhibit reduced engine power, reduced speed, or reduced torque. Recently, one of the vehicle's lost speed, due to a faulty nox sensor in the emissions system that led to the vehicle speed being reduced to 55 mph.

Abs unit went out last month; continued to run after motor was shut off; after checking around, unable to locate part because all on used vehicles are already gone on this year model.have also found out that several other people that i know have had the same problem with the same year model abs unit.only unit that can be found is a new unit through gm at the dealer not at an auto parts store at all.they cannot keep them in stock.suggest that there is a defect in this unit. Have mine still disconnected till i can find one that is not $700.00+ dollars, but have checked the web around the us and am still unable to locate any for a 1999 chev.
