My wife was driving home from the doctor and a full size chevy came across on her side and hit her head on neither air bag deployed on the envoy both vehicles was totaled what should we do thanks.
I hit a guard rail at 67 mph...spike with gmc and she notify me that my threshold (speed and impact) were not enough to set airbags off..really. .67 mph..i was on a highway sweated to miss semi ..kicked it and it flew me in a circle and hit gaurdrail. .impact hit hard that they had to pry bumper off rail and car..frame went through radiator but no airbags deploeyed??? trying to find lawyer no one will take xase????
A guy hit me on the drivers side then it pushed me into a driveway of a business which had a brick wall which i hit &bounced off it .popped both tires on the drivers side. Then i hit a telephone pole straight on &smashed in my front on my car..i moved the telephone pole in the concrete about 2 in..i was the second owner. The other owner was the dealership &thy had it just for there car to run from 1 dealership to the other..i had to go to the hospital &i am still having treatment on my neck back &shoulder..not 1 of the air bags went off..it was towed away &then was totaled. ..i have hired an attorney.
The vehicle struck a pothole wile driving straight on a city street. The road was dry. The side impact airbags deployed on both the driver and passenger side with only the driver in the car.this has been reported to gm.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. The contact stated that while traveling 25 mph,the front driver and passenger side air bags erroneously deployed. The manufacturer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 160,000.
Investigating the air bag safety risk for my gmc 2007 envoy, i discovered that people were reporting that they had crashes but the airbags didn't deploy. So we don't know how safe they are since they don't even go off. The ntsa needs to investigate the tests and complaints.
Sunday september 6, 2009 my wife who is 8 months pregnant was involved in an auto accident as well as our 4 year old son in our 2007 gmc envoy.she did not see a vehicle as she was crossing a highway and was hit on the drivers side of the vehicle just behind the drivers door.the vehicle that collided with her was traveling over 60 miles per hour as my wife was traveling only about 5 miles per hour as she just started through a stop sign.the car did 2 complete 360 degree turns and then flipped over on its side.the air bags never deployed during the impact and the engine was still running when the vehicle came to a stop on its side.
The check tire pressure light is always on.it doesn't matter if we have put air in using a gauge or if a mechanic has done it.when the vehicle is first turned on every single time the indicator light is lit and the message reads on the information screen.this is very aggravating and i am afraid that if the tire pressure really does need to be checked we won't do it because that light is always on.
The drivers door window switch got warm then stopped working, all other windows work with there switches.i am a body tech so i pull the switch out and found the it got so hot it melted.to my surprise it did not trip a breaker or blew a fuse.
Window power module caught fire, shut down engine, stranding us. Recall replaced the module but gmc will not address the fact that the high current draw never blew a fuse first to prevent the fire and not shut down the engine. Car started up and we started driving when smoke came out of door and engine stopped. Calls and e-mails to gmc have not been answered other than the basic recall to replace the module then later added sealer on 2nd recall. No electrical fixes. Electrical issue killed my remote engine starter but they refuse to reprogram or replace as it was an after market remote starter that came with the car..their electrical problem killed it, then they should be responsible and replace it.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. While the vehicle was parked and unoccupied, the contact observed clouds of smoke in the vehicle. The contact noticed that the switch on the driver's side door had melted. The fire department was not called. There were no visible flames. There were no injuries. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v599000 (visibility). The local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. The contact stated that while reversing out of his residential garage, the driver side window malfunctioned. As a result, he was unable to close the window. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the driver side master control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign id number: 12v406000 (electrical system). The failure mileage was 113,008 and the current mileage was 121,000. Updated 10/3/12
To whom this may concern, on march 20th 2014 i was driving on a busy street when my 2007 gm envoy stopped running, my gas tank was nearly full and my battery nearly new was reading 14 volts on the dash gauge, i was able to run off the street, nothing damaged, no warning lights showed up, it restarted back up with no problem, i was just getting on a busy highway i-70, the reason i am notifying you is if this happened minutes later i would of gotten run over by a other traffic, i drive this busy stretch of i-70 between st charles, missouri and wentzville, missouri, 40 miles a day during rush hour. Yes i will spend more time in the slow lane from now on. Thanks due to recent safety complaints of ignitions with other vehicles i was better prepared of what to do if this sort of thing happened being an owner of a gmc product.
February of 2014, gas gauge started to go haywire. After approximately 100 miles, needle of gas gauge goes to empty and low gas indicator light comes on.november of 2013, passenger air bag indicator light stays on. Does not matter if seat is empty or occupied.july 2011, right/front window regulator cable broke-replacement cost me $340.00. At this time shop found that front differential case leaking. This was replaced at no charge.have not owned a gm product in over 15 years, now i know why. Come on gm stand behind your products, no matter what year they were manufactured.you claim that your vehicles are on the road for years and years, really...kind of hard to drive and trust a vehicle that does not function properly.
My driver side power window / door regulator assembly cable frayed and the window would not move up or down until repaired. This happened to the driver side door window in august 2014. Now in march 2015, being 7 months later the same issue has happened to the front passenger side door window / door regulator assembly. I use this vehicle for less than 5000 miles a year, i feel this issue needs to be looked in to for the defect of faulty cabling / poor quality. This will be the second time that i will pay out of pocket for the same issue within a year.
I got into the truck to leave work shifted into reversed half way thru the turn the wheel locked up and truck shut off.i put in park and restarted no problem the next day same thing at a red light wheel lock needs to be restarted.it sounds like the same issues on the recall but my truck is not on the list.
Both headlights abruptly stopped working. Low-beam headlamps and daytime running lights did not function. While researching possible causes and solutions, i discovered a gm safety recall (no. 14291) which precisely described the problem. Upon presenting the vehicle for repairs, the servicing dealer indicated the recall did not cover my vehicle. Given no other viable options, i approved the repair, the cost of which was $278. I contend that my vehicle should have been covered under said recall and am asking nhtsa to review this matter.
Contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. The contact stated that smoke emitted from the driver's door panel while driving at various speeds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The failure was located at the door module. The manufacturer advised that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 12v406000 (electrical system ,visibility). The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 42,000 and the current mileage was 44,000.
The fuel gage stays on empty with the low fuel indicator light illuminated once you fill the vehicle to full and then the check engine light comes on, after several hours the fuel gage will move to the full mark and the check engine light may or may not go out. Leaving you unsure with the amount of fuel you have in vehicle. This occurs even after shutting the vehicle off and on.
My window switch controls and power door lock controls caught fire.
Low beam headlights fail intermittently while vehicle is in operation. Vin not eligible for recall under current headlight probegauges have failed starting with fuel gauge.
Last saturday my power window master switch melted in the middle of the night. I woke up sunday morning with a smoky smell in my car. I took it to gmc to do a diagnostics test on it and they determined it was in fact the master power window switch. They told me that the component melted in the middle of the night.
On saturday 4/2/16 our area eastpointe (detroit) mi a snow storm was in the area. As i entered my vehicle snow fell on the drivers side window door module. I bushed off the snow and proceed to drive my vehicle. After about 5 minutes while on i-94 at 70 mph all four power windows started to go up and down. After two or three times of this action all four windows stayed in the down position. At that time i noticed sparks and smoke coming from the switch positions on the module. I pulled over to side of the expressway and since this module is just a snap in, i removed itand disconnected the cables. Since the passenger side window was conveniently down andmodule was still smoking and emitting sparksi tossed it out the window into the snow.after about five minutes i retrieved the module and drove the secondary roads back home. Part number on the module label is 25811557.i did receive a recall on this vehicle (12180) and it was taken to the dealer for repair on 04/11/13. The work order indicates the recall was completed, but no indication of what was repaired or replaced. After contacting gm customer service and explaining what happen (case number 8-1915535761). I received a call from the dealer (ed rinke). The gentleman explained that the drivers door module on my vehiclewas already repaired and that recall 12180 did not apply to my vehicle. Since there are a total of five recalls for this module on the 2007 envoy's i would hope that this module would be covered.
Headlamps turn off win driving it has done this in the city and on the highway i have to pull over and turn the key off and win i restart it its fine. This occurred suddenly and intermittently still not determined why. I did find a recall on these vehicles but my vin is not listedthis is not safe and gm should pay fore it not me thank you. 2007 gmc envoy
Filled gas tank and fuel gauge still reads empty.
Got a recall notice october, 2012, about a safety defect in the drivers door switch module. In january 2013, on the way home from florida, in a driving rain storm , the windows quit working. Of course the windows were down. Parked, spent the night after putting plastic on all the windows. Resumed my trip in the morning. All was fine until i got into ohio where the temp. Was 14 degrees. Called randy wise gmc dealership and made an appointment for january 8, 2013 to have this fixed. Took my recall paper with me. They would not honor the recall because it wasn't an "active recall". Paid them $477.92 to fix the problem. Called gmc customer assistance center where i was promised a reimbursement form. Never came. Called them back on 1/29/ 2013 when i learned no such paper would be mailed to me until april.finally received my pay back papers on 4/22/2013. Immediately took the papers to randy wise gmc, milan,mi and was promised my money would be forth coming! today's date is 5/9/2013 and still no money. Called gmc customer service again and was told they would look into this matter. It has been over four months now! is this the norm for recalls? can anyone there help me? don't know what else to do except hire a lawyer...
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. While the vehicle was parked and unoccupied the contact noticed that his driver's side window was shattered and the door was melted. The contact climbed through the passenger side and also noticed that the inside of the drivers door was melted and charred. The vehicle was nottaken to a dealer for inspection or diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the incident. The vehicle was remedied for recall nhtsa campaign number: 13v248000 (electrical system , visibility) in may 2013. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000. Rk
Faulty ignition switch caused vehicle engine to stall making all operation to fail car loss of control very dangerous while stalling on highways faulty code given is p1682 short circuit in ignition throttle and gas pedal also probable cause of faulty ecm,pcm also window module caught on fire while at a drive thru on a raining day gmc did not honor a recall for faulty window module nor the faulty ignition i have repaired the ignition and throttle body but problem still occurs and the car is deemed unsafe for my family
Inaccurate fuel gauge caused the 2007 gmc envoy to unexpectedly run out of gasoline and stall as the vehicle was turning at an intersection. The engine shut off and the power steering failed to operate as other vehicles were approaching the intersection. I was not able to get the vehicle completely off of the road before it stopped. This could have caused a serious crash. Gm needs to be held accountable for correcting this serious safety related defect. Why has there been a recall covering certain vehicles under nhtsa campaign number 14v223000 but not in the case of this 2007 gmc envoy when the end result of the defect can also cause this vehicle to run out of fuel and increase the risk of a crash?
2007 gmc envoy.consumer writes in regards to safety recall notice update problems.the consumer stated she received a recall notice in the mail. However, when she called gm, she was informed the notice was for an upcoming recall. As of december 20, 2012, there was no more information on the matter. A month later, the consumer called gm again, and she was then asked to explain the problem. The consumer stated she was having problems with the door locks, she was assigned a case number. Later in the evening, she received a call from gm, who stated the parts should be available in march.
The vehicle's fuel gauge went to full while driving down the road.it started moving all over the place and now goes to empty upon fill up at the gas station.the more you drive the more fuel it reads.the gauge floats all over the place and vehicle has now ran out of gas twice while driving down the road.gm was contacted and explained it is a known issue and at first offered no help.upon talking to several 'managers' they agreed to cover 50% because they know there is a problem.the cost is still over $250 for the repair.why does the owner have to cover the cost of a known problem part?why is gm not responsible for this?
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. The contact stated that the headlights randomly shorted out more than twice. The contact replaced the #46 fuse for the relay due to the failure but was uncertain if the low beams would fail again. The manufacturer excluded the vehicle from a recall. The recall details were unknown. The failure mileage was 120,000.
Headlights continue to go out while driving city streets and highway.windows hesitate to go up and make a grinding noise. At times smells like smoke and then dissipates.
The daytime running lights (drl) and the low beam headlights do not light even when the dashboard light switch is placed in the 'headlight' on position. Troubleshooting revealed that this failure was caused by the body control module (bcm) located beneath the rear seat. A digital logic signal from this module, based on sensor inputs from the ambient light sensor, parking brake and windshield wipers, is provided to the under-hood electronic relay that activates the headlights. There are three possible signal outputs from the bcm...a logic low (lights off),a logic high (low beams full on) or a pulse width modulated signal to create the dimmer drl low beam intensity. If the bcm fails, the low beam headlights will not turn on. There is no affirmative input to the electronic relay from the light switch, not routed through the bcm, to activate the low beam headlamps. This is a major safety issue. When the bcm fails at night, the driver has no low beam headlamps. The only lights available are the fog lamps or the high beam lamps, but only after setting the dashboard light switch to the headlamp position. Headlamps are a necessity, not a optional feature. Their operation should not rely on an electronic sub-system whose failure mode prevents the low beam headlights from working. This system was designed the 'easy' way without regards to vehicle safety...namely that when the dashboard light switch is in the on position, the headlights are enabled by a signal directly from that switch. Without an affirmative enabling signal from the manual dashboard light switch, the system and vehicle operator is at the mercy of the bcm, which could fail at night or on the weekend (when a repair shop is unavailable) rendering the vehicle dangerous or un-driveable.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. The contact stated that while driving various speeds, the tire pressure and air bag warning indicator illuminated continuously. The engine was leaking oil and all four tire pressure sensors failed. The failure recurred numerous times and the vehicle was taken to the dealer multiple times for repair. There were several repairs made to the vehicle including the replacement of the transmission slip yoke however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the defects. The approximate failure mileage was unavailable.
On 7/5/2014, our house was destroyed by fire.investigator determined the fire started in the garage where our 2007 gmc envoy was parked (10:00pm). On 8/8, we were watching morning news over coffee, and it was announced that gm was recalling 2006 and 2007 chevy trailblazers and gomc envoys, and owners where advised not to park their vehicles near any structure as the vehicle may catch fire.we notified our insurance company of the recall, provided them with the recall itself, which arrived at our home on 9/6.our complaint is that general motors took far too long to announce this recall, and in so doing cost us our home, our garage, our car, my woodworking shop and all the tools contained therein, and our storage shed, or in other words, everything we owned.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start.additionally, there was a burning odor in the vehicle. The contact was able to jump start the vehicle and take to it the dealer for diagnosis. The mechanic stated that the door module was melted and would have to be replaced. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 12v406000(electrical system , visibility) but was advised by the manufacturer that the vin was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 116,000.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. While driving approximately 65 mph, there was a sudden loss of power and a warning indicator illuminated for limp mode. The vehicle drastically reduced speed to less than 35 mph. The contact had to slowly drive in the emergency lane. The vehicle was turned off and back on, but the limp mode failure continued. The contact was unable to drive over 35 mph. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who kept the vehicle for longer than two weeks. The dealer cleared multiple codes, but was unable to provide a solution. In addition, months later, the engine locked and failed to function. The vehicle was unable to be driven. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The vin and failure mileage were not available.
I had been driving for about ten minutes when the security light on my instrument panel came on.this is the light indicating the passlock system had initiated.my steering wheel locked up so that i could not turn it at all, and the car began decelerating quickly on its own.
I rolled my driver's window down this morning and tried to roll it back up and it acted like it didn't want to go back up. It started to go up and then it stopped after a few seconds and i tried hitting the button again and nothing happened. Then i hit the button again and it started to go up but very slowly then it stopped again. I did this for a bit until the window went all the way up. This has happened a couple other times also. Today was the 1st time that it really did not want to go back up. The vehicle was stopped in a parking lot at that time.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. The contact was driving approximately 55 mph when the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact stated that the failure was the fourth occurrence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer after each failure and the dealer first diagnosed that the computer system was defective and would need to be replaced. The second time, the dealer replaced the ignition coil and the third recurrence of the failure, the accelerator pedal was replaced. Each of the remedies administered failed to repair the problem. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer who was not able to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was contacted who filed a report and stated that they would contact him at a later date. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 79,000 and the current mileage was 82,000.
Recently had the door lock windows switch issues repaired and now have intermittent door lock issues can't lock or unlock doors.
I rolled my window down part way and it would not roll up.the window switch on the driver side which includes the door lock for that door did not work.my key fob would not work also.i have been having off and on problems with the window not working properly but it never did this.i had to drive 10 mile to my local auto mechanic and it all of a sudden worked.i took my vehicle back to my mechanic today 2/11/13 and he said i have a defective switch and that there is a recall on this vehicle for this problem.i contacted lunghammer gmc and they said my vehicle is not part of the recall.i would like to know what my options are because the dealership said i have to pay $105.00 for them to look at it and maybe we can get gm to do something.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. The contact stated that the low beams failed to illuminate. The contact was not included in nhtsa campaign numbers: 13v248000 (electrical system and visibility), 12v406000 (electrical system and visibility) and15v519000 (exterior lighting). The dealer also replaced the window regulator due to the windows failing to go up and down randomly. The vehicle was to be taken back to the dealer for further diagnostic testing. The failure mileage was not available.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. The contact stated that the low beam lights failed to illuminate randomly. The vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v519000 (exterior lighting). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided no repair solution. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic who was unable to replicate the failure. The vin and failure mileage were not available.
My husband and i purchased a 2007 gmc envoy slt since about a week after we got it the rear wiper comes on by itself, the only way to turn it off is to turn it on all the way and turn it off. While driving especially at night the headlights just go off which is very scary especially on dark roads. Service stabilatrak comes on while driving, tire pressure monitor comes on when there is nothing wrong with my tires.
The check stabilitrak light keeps coming on causing the check engine light to come on causing envoy to loose power. While driving.second issue is the drivers door started acting up didn't want to go up and now will not do anything causing the entire system to not lock and work the mirrors or anything electrical from the door panel.
I was driving and started smelling like something was burning in the car so i attempted to let the window down and could not. No windows will go down and i pulled over to check underneath hood to see if anything was burning and didnt see anything. I was afraid to drive the truck any further so i tried to lock the doors and was unable to lock any of the doors. The entire windowpanal is non functioning. I called the repair shop to find out that there was a recall on this part but i was never made aware ofand when i go online to check it says recall list closed which i never heard of. I want this problem fixed and gmc needs to fix this problem i am afraid to drive because of risk of fire.
I tried to unlock my car doors with the key fob.all other doors unlocked except driver's side door. I manually unlocked it and noticed an odor that smelled "hot". I proceeded to turn on my car and try to roll the window down which suddenly would not work. The entire panel on the drivers side door would not function.i drove about .3 miles and my drivers side window started to go down and then it stopped it did this again and then the entire window went down and i heard a tiny "poof' and smoke started barreling out of the entire door panel. I immediately threw my car into park, turned it off, opened the door, jumped out and turned on the hazard lights.called the fire department and by the time they arrived the smoke had gone away they tried to start it and it turned over very quickly, too quickly that the fireman made a comment about it. It would not start.then he tried again and it would do nothing. Had it towed.
My exterior head lights do not work correctly. At dusk, they do not come on. Went online, nhsta shows a recall # 14291. Went to my local dealer, who ran a report stating my vehicle not on recall! i have the exact problem that your company described. Of course, the dealer offered to diagnose the concern for $120.00
There have been 3 recalls on this vehicle.the module was "fixed" butwas not replaced during the first recall.i have not received any further recalls from gm for this problem.each time i check the vin on the computer or with the dealer, it comes up "no further recalls on this vehicle". The "fix" only lasted about 11 months!! (and that was less than 9000 miles, since i do not drive much).
Electrical fire inside left front door, window switch and trim panel caught on fire, all doors locked up.updated 09/08/11
While driving a neighborhood street in maine, i first noticed my front, driver's side power window going up and down on its own.then, white smoke started pouring from the power window controls.i pulled into a nearby driveway to pull the fuse, but it must have blown on its own because the window controls stopped working.i drove it straight to the dealership where the power window motor replacement was more than $500.ouch!i'm just glad the entire car didn't burst into flames.
I have had my envoy slt now for 2 years and since i've driven it, the check tire pressure is always on for my right rear tire always reads 0, my mirrors have a mind of there own, the heated seats don't always work and now my left directional doesn't work! got a letter stating there was a recall on the driverside door but no parts available! unhappy gmc envoy driver not sure its such a safe suv.
I attached a letter below.
Driver's door master power window switch module was working intermittently and now is inoperable causing me to become locked out of my vehicle. There was a similar recall to the same year envoys in 2014, but when i checked the vin mine was not included in the recall, but am having the same issue
Smoke from driver door control. Vehicle parked. Windows, door locks now inoperative.
Headlights failed causing lights to go out while driving. Only the bright lights will work. Some kind of electrical malfunction. From my research, there have been many others.
Power window & lock stop working intermittently.
When vehicle is stationary, or in motion, the fuel gauge gives inaccurate gas reading.fuel gauge modulates from empty to full continuously.empty light comes on when gas is in car when driving. Check engine light comes on when empty light comes on. It is impossible to drive this car with a peace of mind given this problem. Please note that this exact problem with 2007 envoy is all over the internet.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. When starting the vehicle, all the lights illuminated on the instrument panel and the heat and air conditioner failed. The failure mileage was 88,750.updated 4/27/15updated 9/18/2017
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. While driving various speeds, the service stabilitrak warning indicator periodically illuminated. Also, the stabilitrak active indicator periodically illuminated, which caused the vehicle to stall. When the contact released and re-applied the accelerator pedal, the stabilitrak deactivated and the vehicle functioned normally. Occasionally, when the brake pedal was depressed, the brake pedal vibrated violently and the vehicle hesitated to stop. When the vehicle was stationary and the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle accelerated forward. Furthermore, the driver's seat was unable to move forward. When attempting to adjust the seat manually or with the power position adjuster, the seat failed to adjust until after a period of time. The vehicle was taken to bowser buick gmc (1001 clairton blvd, pleasant hills, pa 15236, (412) 346-7929) where the contact was informed that the driver's door module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was 90,000.

Gmc has known that they have intermittent stabilitrak system since oct 1-2008. Don't know if it actually shuts off abs brakes or just sets indicator lights off. Comes on more frequently in cold months. Tsb #08-05-25-005why should consumer pay for either defective steering yoke yaw sensor, reprogramming or new $400 ebcm or $250 dealer service charge each time it comes up. In winter, another article said it was bad connectors. That would be a mfg defect as well. Always comes up in sharp slow speed turns. Already paid for two front hubs as they said it was the speed sensor, problem was not resolved. Braking or known stabiltrak problem over several years should warrant a recall not tsb where the cost is absorbed by the vehicle owner.,
Takara recall, on top of the complaints available to pick from my power steering system has just now started leaking consistently, i take it into the shop and they cannot find anything. They just want to replace the entire system. I have to refill every 2 weeks at least.
I got into the truck to leave work shifted into reversed half way thru the turn the wheel locked up and truck shut off.i put in park and restarted no problem the next day same thing at a red light wheel lock needs to be restarted.it sounds like the same issues on the recall but my truck is not on the list.

The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine failed due to the timing belt, which needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
The engine died without warning.no power steering.lights, flashers, radio, air conditioning, clock and other electrical parts continued to work.just no engine power.this was on a houston freeway (i-45s) at 5:30 pm.able to coast to left emergency lane.had car towed by aaa.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. After refueling the vehicle the contact noticed that the fuel gauge was providing an erroneous reading of empty . The fuel and check engine warning lights were also illuminated on the instrument panel.the vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostics or repairs. The contact stated that later, the tire pressure warning light also illuminated although the tire pressure was accurate to specifications. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 28,000.
I was stopped at a traffic light , i was listening to my radio . The light changed i put my foot on the gas pedal and truck didn't move.. It was then i realized the it stalled. I put in neutral and startedit back up. And continued to work. After this initial time it was happening two to three a day , atleast three times a week for months.. I took it back to dealer 15 times . I have a paper trail for this. They told me they could not find anything wrong with it. I have had my vehicle for going three years and have only put 11,000 miles becauseii am afraid to drive it any long distance . I don't want to break down and be stuck alone. I have already put a complaint into gm about this and they have done nothing . It is total bull. All i want is my car fix so i can enjoy it. I am paying for a car that just sits 80% if the time. Look st on star if you don't believe me. Please help me get my car fix right.
Without any warning/indication [nothing light up on dashboard]; the car started jerking & slowing down. It sounded like rocks was rolling around under the hound of the car. I pressed the onstar button [which the car has been monitored by for the entire time of ownership, and all reports have always been engine/drivetrain/transmission good] and the was told there was and engine misfire. All maintenance has been kept up to date; and again the car monitored by onstar and never have i received a bad report. I don't understandhow/why something like this could happen w/o any warning! i tried working with the local dealership; gmc financing office ~ and nothing!! this car is paid for & i cant afford the repair cost associated with it. This has to be some sort of defect!!!!!!!!!!
My 2007 gmc envoy has been experiencing ongoing issues with the air conditioning system. The air conditioner itself functions well when it's working, but a few minutes after turning it on the blower stops working.i've also noticed that after the controls are turned off and the unit stays off for a couple of hours it will begin to work again if turned on again.it seems other users are having some of the same issues.i would really like information on filing a recall request.
Headlights continue to go out while driving city streets and highway.windows hesitate to go up and make a grinding noise. At times smells like smoke and then dissipates.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. While driving approximately 10 mph, the head lamps failed to illuminate. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the head lamp switch needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure continued. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v75500 (exterior lighting). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 94,324.

Headlights have intermittently shut off while vehicle is traveling
My headlights went out the other night, i had to drive 30 miles with my highbeams on. Both headlights and daytime running lights are out. Same issue as recall #15v599000 , but i am being told there are no outstanding recalls on my vehicle?seems to me it should be covered, definite safety issue
Both of my low beam head lights went out at the same time.i looked this up and found out that there was a recall on this on august 14, 2015 and i was not notified about this recall.i was pulling my vehicle into my garage when i noticed the lights were out.i checked both bulbs and fuses and they were all okay.the high beams, fog lights and turn signals work, just not the low beams on either side.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. While driving at unknown speeds, the headlights stopped working without warning. Only the high beams worked properly. The contact inspected the vehicle and determined that the headlight module relay needed to be replaced. The failure recurred several times. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 208,103.
Regular headlights go off and need to use brights to drive at night
Headlamps turn off win driving it has done this in the city and on the highway i have to pull over and turn the key off and win i restart it its fine. This occurred suddenly and intermittently still not determined why. I did find a recall on these vehicles but my vin is not listedthis is not safe and gm should pay fore it not me thank you. 2007 gmc envoy

Exterior lights will not come on.i work nights so it's imperative my lights are in good working condition. Driving 65 down a highway in the middle of the night and your lights shut off is a scary situation.i noticed a recall for this is under development. I'm not sure what that means and would appreciate clarification.
Low beam lights failing intermittently.lights shut off twice @ 9:30 pmon 5/16/2015 driving on divided highway at 65 mph.the lights started operating normally after pulling off on the shoulder both times.researched the web and found this is a problem with probably the headlamp driver modules or relay.drove the suv to the gmc dealer today and they said they had no record of a recall for this unit and any work done on the problem would be billed to me.i left the dealer and called gmc and had them pull up this unit on their system and got the same run around.they finally told me that some 2007 gmc envoys are being recalled for this condition but not mine.this is a scary condition and due to an extreme safety concern i purchased the relay at an auto parts store today for $38.31 and installed it myself. This problem is probably more wide spread than gmc has reported.
Headlights failed causing lights to go out while driving. Only the bright lights will work. Some kind of electrical malfunction. From my research, there have been many others.
No low beams or running headlamps
Three times when i turn the car on and put it in gear, the headlights would come on, then after about a week or two they go out, so i purchase new head lights that wasn't the problem.so i put the original ones back on two days later they work, three times it happen now they are out again. They always go out after being park for some length of time.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. While driving 35 mph, the headlamps became inoperable without warning. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v519000 (exterior lighting). The failure mileage was 106,000.
I'm having a problem with my headlights going off while i'm driving down the road. It seems to happen while the lights are in automatic mode and when i try to switch them on manually after it happens it takes a few minutes for them to respond. This has happened on numerous occasions. And others that i know with the same model vehicles are having the same problem.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. While operating the vehicle, the low beam headlights suddenly shut off. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed nor repaired. Headlights have shutdown and only brigh lights functiongm has a recall on the 2007 gmzc envoy for this specific problem but when i enter the vin i provided it does not direct me to this specific recalli think my vin should be covered since i read that approximately 318,000 envoys are under recalli appreciate your consideration into my request.
We have a 2007 gmc envoy, intermittently our headlamps and daytime running lamps would cut off and on, sometimes while we have been driving in the city and on the highway and sometimes right when we put the vehicle in drive before we move. About a week ago they cut off and have not ever cut back on. We found on the nhtsa website that there had been a recall for the headlamps and daytime running lamps on 2006 - 2007 gmc envoys, the recall is for the headlamp module. We contacted our local dealer about getting the recall repaired but were told our "vin" was not included in the recall. We also contacted gm directly and spent over an hour on the phone with their customer support as well as a supervisor only to be told over and over there was nothing they could do to help. We took our vehicle to the dealer for repair since it is illegal to drive at night without headlights, after they diagnosed the issue with our 2007 gmc envoy they reported that the problem with our 2007 gmc envoy is the exact same issue as the ones that are covered in the recall, the headlamp module is bad! we once again called gm, gave them the diagnoses but once again they said there is nothing they can do! needless to say we are beyond frustrated.

Takata recall-i was driving home on a busy city street at 6:30 pm it was dark both headlightsmalfunction at same time.when i arrive home the doom lights inside the car would not go off, about 45 minutes later they went off. I was afraid for my safety and others as i was driving home in dark.
It was dark- almost 9:00, i turned my car on, everything stared fine, lights came on automatically as normal. Then i started driving came to a red light and they just went out, both of them at the same time. I was confused, i thought maybe somehow the switch got bumped so i was frantically turning the knob trying to get the lights to come back on. I couldn't understand what happened. None of the settings worked, not automatically, manual. I pushed the fog light button and those came on fine so i kept those on and turned around and went home. My husband and i then tried to find the source like a bad fuse but all other lights are workig, blinkers, highbeams, breaklights, reverse lights, interier lights, fog lights. We have not been able to get them back on.
When driving at night with lights on low beams, the headlights will go out and only the high beams work.this happens when the vehicle is in motion, on both rural and city highways.this has been going on for 6 plus months.most recently, last night.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds at night, the headlights would fail to illuminate. The failure recurred three times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the relay failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure.

Highly dangerous situation! as i was driving at night on the highway, my headlights suddenly went out. Thankfully, i was in an area that had some overhead lighting or i would have been in a life-threatening situation. The only way i could see was to turn on the high beams. Now i cannot drive the car at night any longer unless i use the high beams at all times. When i called to find out if this issue, which as a safety one should be a manufacturer recall, i found that, while the car make/model/year in general was under a recall, my vin was not. How can this be? i request that the recall for this serious issue be added for all 2007 gmc envoys. Our lives are at risk!thank you.

The light relay switch is bad.at night the lights go out and will only work if i turn on the bright lights after a while they come back on.i have received a special recall notice from gm but they said that my vin number is not included even though the year make and model is they will only fix if i pay for it not sure why all vin numbers are not included in recall if i'm having this problem the another vin number is and they pay for fixing it at 100% regardless of the mileage. I had called and asked about the problem when it first started going out they said it was cost over $200.00 for the part. At that time i wasn't driving at night very little. But now i am and i need it fixed but they will not fix it under the special recall unless i pay for it. So i'm having to drive with my brights on when it goes out and i do not know when it will go out.

I took my vehicle in for an oil change and the shop noticed that my brake lights did not work. I left the shop and decided to investigate the problem myself. After replacing all of the bulbs and discovering that the problem was elsewhere. I took the car to a dealership and they found that the problem existed under the dash, they determined that every time i hit brakes, the wires were being stripped and caused a short. Fuel gauge reading is erratic and provides false information.as of 6/1/2011, the gauge bounces back and forth while driving between fuel low and full.being told entire sending unit requires replacement and parts/labor cost is $750.
Fuel gauge registers empty even after filling tank.
Went to fill my gas tank on my 2007 gmc envoy and topped it off. Went i went into the car the fuel gauge was going up and down and then went to empty and the low fuel message and service engine light came on. I took it in and was told 871.00 to repair which i didn't have. When i took it in for my inspection this year, my mechanic told me he has replaced so many of these already. I received a letter today by gmc that they will pay for half if i take it to a gmc dealer. I don't think this is fair. They can put parts in that will fail then make us come to their dealerships to pay upwards of 100.00 an hour to repair.
2007 gmc envoy fuel gauge not registering correct amount. Swings erratically from full to empty regardless of amount of fuel in tank. This is apparently a common issue with these vehicles based on internet message boards with fuel sensor failure most commonly cited problem. There is a risk of running out of fuel without warning and creating a hazardous driving situation. Have seen on msn that nhtsa is investigating so am adding my complaint to the pile and asking that gm be required to recall these vehicles to correct this defect. I have not paid for sensor replacement at this time.
Faulty gas gauge on my 2007 gmc envoy.does not show right amount of gas in tank. I have ran out of gas 3 times in the past 2 months. I've tried to keep track of gas by mileage, but that gets tricky.
Fuel gauge is erratic. This appears to be a very common problem. Dealer said the fuel level sensor is defective. I have 58,000 miles on my 07 envoy denali. Safety is a concern now that i do not know how much gas i really have.
Fuel sending unit is defective after 40,000 miles.tank readings inaccurate.i live in an urban area where it is not safe to be out of fuel and broken down on side of road.dealer admits this problem is common for gm envoy/rainer/trailblazer - numerous online forums list this as a defect - yet gm does nothing to rectify the problem. Item is out of warranty and gm won't cover it.
Stopped for fuel and turned off the motor.filled tank until the pump automatically shut off.replaced filler cap and tightened to spec.when i turned on the key, the gauges went through normal diagnostics.when i started the envoy, the fuel gauge immediately went to empy, the low fuel light turned on, and a warning chime rang.while driving, the gauge would fluctuate, but never gave an accurate reading.eventually, the check engine light also lit after about twenty miles.the next day, the fuel gauge appeared to work normally.however, since the first incident, this has happened with each subsequent fill-up.
After purchasing a supposed "certified pre owned" gmc 2007 envoy, the gas gauge has gone bad which is causing the check engine light to remain on less than 1 yr after purchase. This problem is causing an automatic failure in ny dmv vehicle yearly inspection. After taking this to a private mechanic and plugging in the obd,he informed me that this has become a major issue. The fuel sending unit has to be replaced. The cost of replacement is outrageous for a vehicle i have owned for less than 1 yr.this has caused me to run out of fuel several times due to not knowing how much fuel is left in the tank.once was on a major interstate in ny. Please help myself as well as the many other people i have read about on the internet who are forced to make these costly repairs due to gm negligence just to be able to have the vehicle legally on the road. This is a safety issue that could kill someone on a major highway if they were unable to get to a shoulder or off the highway quickly and safely.
I have a full tank of gas, but gauge shows empty, and never goes above 1/8 of a tank. "low fuel" warning light on constantly.
The fuel light (gas gauge) reads empty and the indicator light stays on constantly. The dealer says this is a common problem, but it not under recall by gmc, so the fix would be nearly $350.00. Gm is aware this is a common problem on the 2007 envoy.
Gmc envoy fuel gauge goes to empty at approximately a half-full tank. It happens every time it falls to a half tank. I have to reset the odometer, so i know when i am truly getting near empty. This started around the beginning of august. I've called gm & they want me to pay $100 to diagnose the problem when googling the problem there are many envoys & trailblazer posts with the same issue. I have an appointment for diagnosis.
I filled my gas tank up, but when i start my vehicle it reads empty with the low fuel light on. The check engine light has also illuminated as well.
-fuel gauge was acting funny, would go from full to empty and not read the correct fuel level.- dealer stated that the gauge had gone bad and it was replaced underextended warranty, cost was covered less deductible.
Erratic fuel gauge behavior 2007 gmc envoy.gauge works correctly from 1/2 tank to full tank only - immediately drops to empty after going below 1/2 tank.shows correct level when first being started up - then immediately sinks to empty upon driving.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. After filling the fuel tank, the contact noticed fifteen minutes later that the fuel gauge was still on empty. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership where the contact was informed that the fuel sending unit needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired at the time of the complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000. The current mileage was approximately 46,000.
Fuel sending unit failure. Vehicle has only 42,000 miles on it. Many forums list this as a problem, so it is obviously a common defect, yet gm will not address the problem.
Fuel gauge is inaccurate often reads empty when full. When fuel gauge gives false reading engine warning light comes on. Engine performance becomes erratic.
2007 gmc envoy gas gauge quit working so i don't know when or how much gas i have in the car.then other day i ran out of gas luckily i was close to home.
The vehicle shows a service engine light. The gas gauge fluxuates from no fuel to full tank randomly. During a single visit the vehicle shows a low fuel light and then the gauge goes up to full and back. This has been happening for 2 months. The service center can not reproduce the problem because the tank is full at dealership. They want to do unrelated service to justify their time. I have paid for the extended warranty.
I have a 2007 gmc envoy and the fuel sending unit is malfunctioning. Yesterday i had to walk to a gas station because i ran out of gas even though the gas gauge still read a quarter tank. I am not the only one having this problem after doing a search on the internet.
I was so happy to read online that the national highway traffic safety administration is finally checking into the problem with the fuel gauges on 2007 gmc envoys.i started to have a problem just before my envoy was 3 years old and about to go out of warranty.the first time that i had a problem it stalled when i stopped at a light after exiting i-95.the next day it stalled when i was coming off of i-95.i took it to the dealer and they said that the throttle mechanism needed to be cleaned.had the service done and it still was stalling.took it back to the dealer and they kept it for 3 days and said that because they could not find a code there was nothing they could do and it would be too costly for them to investigate further.the car continues to stall out just when my gas tank is getting low (1/4 of a tank or less).it seems to be okay when it is running at a high speed but when i slow down on an exit or come to a stop it stalls.sometimes the engine will rev and then catch and sometimes it will stall out.sometimes it just quietly quits --- nothing shows up on the dash - no lights or gauges show anything.i have noticed that my miles remaining is usually much lower after it stalls than before. I have filed a complaint with gm and i was made to feel like i was a fool.they insisted that there was nothing wrong and that they had no complaints.the dealer also treated me the same way.i have considered getting rid of the car but i basically like it and work around the problem by not letting the gas tank go below 1/4.i hope that your organization will be able to do something to help.it really is a very dangerous situation and could certainly result in a rear end collision.plus i paid a lot of money and have a right to expect that when there is something wrong with a gmc product gmc would know how to fix it..
Fule gage shows empty. Same also occured on my 2006 envoy. Gm will not repair either envoy unless i pay approx $600. I would like to see a recall and the parts used to last. Safty is also a concern as check light goes on and off and you have to estimate fule used. I see on line that this is a problem for gm. Has gm improved this fuel sender?
Fuel gauge reads empty but tank full.fuel tank says there is gas but ran out of gas...tank empty.
The gas gauge on my 2007 envoy has been acting very erratic lately.each time i fill my gas tank, the gauge remains at empty for maybe a day or so.eventually it goes from empty to full and back to empty several more times.sooner or later it will remain in the full position and seems to act normally.i have also noticed my service engine light coming on for a day or two and finally goes out.that seems to happen after i fill my gas tank.nobody at the dealership seems to be aware of any problems with the fuel gauge in the envoy.but after reading a few of the complaints to this website, i realize there is a problem that general motors does not want to address.
Fuel gage has been going off and on all year.now is sits on empty a lot.the bell goes off to remind me it is empty often, when that is not the case.i have to use my odometer to know when to get gas.very frustrated with gmc on this.said sensor would cost in excess of $500 to repair.that is absolutely ridiculous. Then i get this letter indicating that gmc is aware of the problem with the fuel gage in envoys; and they still want me to pay $250 for half of their problem.sounds a little one sided to me.most companies offer to correct their mistakes at their own expense, and certainly not at the expense of the customer. Seems to me that good business practices would be the way to go.surely to goodnessthe president of gmc would have the common sense to know that too many unsatisfied customers could potentially result in a significant drop of sales. .
Fuel gage fails intermittently, can not tell how much fuel you have left.i try not to let it go much below half full for fear of running out of gas and stalling in trafic.
The fuel gauge would have different readings while driving. Gm replaced the fuel level gauge at a cost of $400.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. The contact stated that gasoline fuel fumes were emitted from inside of the vehicle. The failure was recurring. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, who was unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 117,000.
In early august 2011, the fuel gauge began reading erratically for no apparent reason. In early september 2011, the problem caused me to run out of gas while driving. Fortunately, it did not pose a danger, but it could lead to being rear-ended--potentially a very dangerous situation! so far, we haven't fixed the problem but will closely monitor the trip odometer for now.
Cpsc#i1290600a. 2007 gmc envoy. Consumer stated the fuel gauge has been sporadically working. *lnthe consumer stated after she filled the tank, it would go empty, then back to full. On one occasion, as she was driving on the freeway, the vehicle started to slow down. The gas gauge read full, but apparently, the vehicle was out of gas.
I have a 2007 gmc envoy and the gas gauge does not work. Initally, when i would fill up the tank it would work for at least a 100 miles; over time it has gotten to the point that the gauge never works and is always on empty. I have to monitor my mileage meter to know when i need to get gas.
Fuel tank light comes on and off constantly, gauge bounces back and forth. Occurs daily, several times per day. Changed gas cap, did not matter. Hazard and very difficult to judge amount of fuel.should be a recall!2007 gmc envoy with 28,000 miles.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. The contact stated that the fuel gauge continued to increase and decrease displaying an inaccurate reading. When gasoline was added to its capacity the fuel gauge displayed that it was empty. The dealer stated the fuel sending unit on the vehicle failed and needed to be replaced. The contact feels that was a safety defect by the manufacturer because the vehicle has so few miles. The failure mileage was 29,000 and the current mileage was 31,000.
Vehicles fuel gauge will constantly read anywhere from e to full, especially after fill up.never know exactly what amount of fuel is in vehicle.have to keep trip meter cleared at each fill up to make an accurate guess at how many miles i have left in the tank.sometimes the check engine light will also come on at same time as the gauge fluctuates constantly.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy.the contact stated that the fuel gauge would read inaccurately, causing the fuel sensor to activate.the dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure and made an attempt to cover a portion of the repair costs.the vehicle was not repaired.the failure mileage was 55,000 and the current mileage was 57,000.
Fuel gauge reads incorrectly and shows incorrect amount of fuel intermittently.very distracting and unsafe when you are not sure how much fuel you actually have.this has been a problem for some time, and the dealer has indicated it can't make a repair because general motors doesn't consider this a safety issue.this problem began in october, 2010 and continues because of the cost to make repairs.the dealer indicates a parts cost of $500 plus labor.
Hello, did gmc will do something with the fuel sensor? i have gmc envoy 2007, and fuel sensor stopped working properly. I contacted the dealer and the representative sad that fuel sensor replacements work will cost you $600.it is not fare. I found that a lot of people have the same problem, and gmc did not responded to that problem at all. One investigation already opens for this fuel sensor problem recently for trailblazer.i was driving on i-95 and my car started to send message 'fuel level is low' and fuel gage show 'empty tank', but i have a full tank of gas! i made an emergency stop on i-95, which creates a back up traffic and not safety driving conditions for other drivers. Right now i driving with that problem and let me tell you, it is 'nightmare'.'fuel level low' signal disturbing operation of the car, you have to press controls button on steering wheel and always check 'how many miles you drove already', but if mileage counter will be working or you forget to 'reset', you can stop immediately on highway and create badly accident.
Nearly 2 months ago i noticed the gas gauge in my vehicle going haywire. I will fill the tank, and within a mile or 2, the gauge will drop to e, and the light will come on, bell will sound, etc. It may or may not adjust while driving. This happens constantly, the gauge is showing 1/2 full, then empty, then 1/4 full.at any given time, i have no way of knowing how much fuel is in my tank. I am deathly afraid that i will run out while driving with my children on the interstate. I have researched the problem a little on the internet, and found many, many others with this problem. I firmly believe this should be a recall issue.
The fuel indicator gauges from full to empty within seconds even though the tank has been filled completely. The gage remains on empty with the 'low fuel' indicator warning light on for the length of the trip.
Faulty fuel gauge.will go to full then back to empty and stay at empty just after filling tank. Sometimes will go back over to full. Problem also causing obd to turn on check engine light. I have run out of fuel and have had vehicle come to stop in traffic. No warning of low fuel because of bad sensor. As per gm tech i spoke to, every gmc suv has the same problem.
The fuel guage does not work properly. The tank can be full of gas, but the gauge will show that the tank is empty.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. The contact stated that the fuel gauge failed to display an accurate fuel level reading after dispensing fuel into the fuel tank. The failure progressed over a period of time and eventually the fuel gauge became inoperable. The dealer and manufacturer were notified and stated that the failure was related to the fuel tank senor. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000. ..updated 10/19/11updated 10/24/11
Gasoline gauge is not displaying accurate amount of gasoline.
The fuel gauge frequently stops working or gives incorrect readings while driving.initially this only occurred when the fuel tank was above 3/4 full but has since started happening regardless of fuel level in the tank.the gauge no longer provides accurate fuel level readings at any level.due to the fact that my vehicle is no longer covered by the manufacturers warranty i have not pursued a repair.the repair is very expensive based on the many complaints i've found on the internet regarding this problem.
Car showed half tank of gas but cut off and wouldn't start. After being told it may be gas i put gas in car and it started. I filled my gas tank up 2 days later then cranked up and the car still showed empty with gas light on.
Fuel gauge started not working properly. Initially it would show half full when filling up, then the gauge stopped working completely causing me to be stranded on the interstate. The cost involved to fix it at the dealership was too high so i have chosen to calculate my mileage when i fill up.
About one month ago, after i filled the gas tank in my 2007 gmc envoy, the gas meter would shift from f to e as i was driving and the light would come on. I would pull over to the side of the road, turn it off and back on. At that time, the meter would raise back up to the f but as i am driving again, it would drop back down and the empty indicator light would come on again. It has been doing this for a month now and i was even stuck on the side of the road once, njdot came to give me gas, thinking that was the problem, and the car still would not start. Had to get it towed to a gas station, where it then started and i was able to make it home. The car also hesitates (drags) when i'm trying to give it gas, as if it's going to cut off. I was told it was a clogged fuel line and will have it checked but this can cost me $600-800 that seems to be a problem with these trucks. I have read many stories from others who have the same vehicle.
Gmc seems to have a problem with their fuel system, i contacted them when my gas guage started acting erractily, was told to take it to dealer and pay 100.00 for diagnosis, i said the problem is all over the internet, she said she wasnt aware. There are too many people having this problem for them to be saying they dont know it. My husband has cancer and he cannot take a chance driving this vehicle because of this problem, the only time you know it has gas in it is when you fill it up! please help us get this resolved, i have a gmc jimmy parked in the driveway that has the exact same problem!
I have a 2007 gmc envoy slt with 49,000 miles, still owe $6000 and fuel gauge reads constant empty. I have been told that to change a fuel level sensor, that the gas tank would have to be dropped and sensor replaced @ $91.00 per hour plus parts.i feel this to be a safety issue because i travel to alot of unknown locations including high crime areas of baltimore city to complete real estate appraisals. I have actually witness drug deals take place less than 100 feet from my vehicle. If i run out of gas in one of these undesirable locationsdeath is not out of the question, at a minimum there would certainly be robbery and assault. What i don't understand is why after several 100 reports of this same issue why gmc will not help with the expense of repairing this issue or recall the vehicle for this very common expensive issue.please help!
The fuel gage does not register the correct amount of fuel
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. The contact noticed that the fuel gauge displayed an inaccurate reading and she was unable to determine how much gasoline was in the vehicle. The failure began three weeks ago. The dealer was notified and informed the contact that there were no related recalls. The manufacturer was contacted and agreed to pay for the parts but not the labor. The vehicle was not repaired. The current mileages were 42,000. The failure mileages were 41,600.
General motors issued a special coverage adjustment-fuel level sensor contact wear notice # 10054e to cover 100% of replacing a malfunctioning fuel gauge.my fuel gauge malfunctioned as outlined in the notice and i had my fuel gauge repaired at my own expense.when i learned of the special coverage, i completed the general motors product field acton customer reimbursement request form and sent the required copies of receipts that showed all required information to hendrick gmc via fax on 9/13 and hand delivered the same information on 10/4.i have never received my refund for the repair i paid for out of pocket. I have called and e-mailed the general manager of hendrick gmc; i have called and tried to speak to him.i called the 800 number provided in the notification to file a complaint. I have left messages for a team leader at the customer assistance center and he has not returned my calls nor are they sending me the promised refund.i believe that this special coverage adjustment is just a way for gmc to not to have to issue a recall, and they are picking and choosing who they are refunding. Gmc should not be allowed to use such a dishonest ploy to avoid paying to repair a defect.
Gas gauge no longer accurately senses fuel level.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. The contact stated that the fuel gauge did not read properly. The fuel gauge would display readings of half full or empty even when the fuel tank was full. When the fuel tank was empty, the fuel gauge would display a reading of half full or full. The contact made an appointment to have the vehicle inspected. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 50,000.
I have a 2007 gmc envoy that the gas gauge shows that there is more gas than actually is. I have ran out of gas a couple of times.
My 2007 gmc envoy gas gauge started reading inaccurately one day as i was filling the gas tank...it went up as it was filling to about 3/4 of a tank and then went straight down to e and the tank was completely full. It "bounced around over the next 2-3 weeks and finally quit working all together. The low fuel indicator is always on as it registers e all the time now. I have ran out of gas a few times. I am a nurse who is on call and cannot be left stranded. My husband had a brain injury and i am now the sole provider in the home and i cannot afford the part and labor....i am very disappointed...needs to be recalled!!!!!!!
When i start my car every morning the fuel gauge starts out correctly and then when i start to travel the gauge drops to empty.after i travel approximately 15 min the gauge will start to climb to about the approx correct fuel amount then it drops down again. I can usually get a good reading after i fill the tank but when i turn the engine off it starts all over again.this has been going on for two weeks now. The consequences are that i am not sure what my fuel level is unless i completely fill the tank. I haven't done any corrective measures yet.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy.the contact stated that the fuel gage was providing inaccurate fuel level readings.the manufacturer was contacted but provided no assistance.the dealer was not notified of the failure and the vehicle was neither diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was 37,000 and the current mileage was 48,000. Updated 09/20/2011 *ln
Around 65,000 miles the fuel gauge consistently fluctuated while driving and now no longer works. This resulted in me being stranded in a mall parking lot with no idea why my car was not working. I got into my car and tried to start it with no success. The dealer saidmy fuel sensor would need to be replaced and since it was out of warranty i would be responsible for all charges. I have not fixed the gauge yet so i have to refill my tank every 250 miles so i don't stall while driving. I do a lot of highway driving due to my long commute and it is quite stressful to not know how much gas i have!
The fuel gauge in 2007 gmc envoy doesn't read properly....even with a full tank the gauge says empty. Im 8 mths pregnant and this is a safety issue. I depend on having a gas gauge that works and if as many people are having the same issue, gmc needs to step up to the plate and fix this........
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy.the fuel gauges on the instrument control panel inaccurately displays the amount of fuel present in the fuel tank.the vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection.the technician stated this was a common failure for her model type.he then added that the failure was not covered under warranty, so she was ineligible for a free remedy. Thecurrent and failure mileages were 39,200.updated 3/8/10 the consumer also stated that the rear hatch was inoperative and when it rained the windows would get stuck. Updated 05/13/10.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. While driving at 55 mph, the contact noticed that the fuel gauge no longer functioned. She had to fuel the vehicle every 250 miles because of the failure. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership where the contact was informed that because the vehicle was no longer under warranty, she would be responsible for all repair costs. The vehicle had not been repaired at the time of the complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000. The current mileage was approximately 60,000.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. The contact stated thefuel gauge sensor failed. The gauge would display the fuel at low levels whenever she would refuel the vehicle. The dealer advised the vehicle would be repaired but at the contact's expense. The manufacturer was not contacted and the vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 45,143.

I was at a stop light and when i pressed on the gas the vehicle stalled. I had to have a tow truck come and give me gas to get me started. This is ridiculous. Now i have a check engine light on because of the stalling cause gunk to get in certain engine parts. I am extremely upset and do not think it is fair that the driver has to pay for 50%. Gmc should pay for 100%. Period.
Engine light won:t go off & gas tank gauge does not work./
At fill up gas gauge goes to full and stays there for around 20 miles, then drops to empty and stays there.this is an ongoing problem for several weeks now.apparently this is a known issue, with the vehicle.
I have purchased an 07 gmc envoy 9/2011. I have encountered multiple issues with the fuel gauge after i would fill up my tank, within minutes after leaving the gas station, fuel gauge would float from full to half of tank to empty.i did reach out to gmc and customer service advised they will only cover 50% of the repair, why not 100% of repair cost.. This should be taken care of my the gmc.ugh but what i don't understand how is that some consumers are able to get gmc to cover the complete repair.
Check engine light appeared after filling gas tank and fuel gauge was inoperative.subsequent low fuel warning.code indicates fuel sensor issue.
We bought this vehicle 2 months ago and it is a 2007 envoy.after doing research this vehicle has a history of the gas gauge going out of it.the dealership and gmc should be fixing this not the consumer.it is despicable that they do not consider this a safety recall.i should not have to pay half after only owning the car for 2 months.the dealership and gmc knew that this is an issue and refuses to pay for it.someone needs to do something about this!!!
Nearly 2 weeks ago i noticed the gas gauge acting up. I'd fill the tank, and within a mile or 2, the gauge will drop to e, and the light will come on, bell will sound. This happens constantly, the gauge is showing 1/2 full, then empty, then 1/4 full. At any given time, i have no way of knowing how much fuel is in my tank. I am afraid that i will run out of fuel while driving my kids to school or on the interstate. I have researched the problem a on the internet and have found a lot of people with the same problem. I firmly believe there should be a recall for this severe problem before someone really gets hurt.
I have a 2007 gmc envoy.the fuel gauge reads normal after a fill up and then soon drops to empty.it does not give an accurate reading of fuel in the tank and the low fuel light is usually on.the check engine light is also on.it seems that this is the most common complaint among envoy owners with nhtsa (note there are 5 other name plates under which this vehicle was sold).i have called gmc and they claim no knowledge of the problem.they offered to help me contact a dealer, but were unable to reach one. I called the selling dealer on my own.the service adviser seemed to know what i was talking about but was non-committal.the defect started after the warranty period expired due to time, but not mileage.finally i have always considered this an annoyance but i recently changed my opinion on that.my wife, who drives my kids around, pointed out that if she runs too long without topping off or if unknown to her, her fuel mileage declines she very well could run out of gas and be hit by a vehicle behind her.there would be no warning to her or to the vehicles behind her ie no brake lights to warn that she is stopping.of course there would also be a loss of steering and brakes.in my mind this is a serious safety concern and it should be investigated.if gm is unwilling to fix the problem and nhtsa rules that they should not have to, at a minimum they should be required to notify owners of theneed to fix the issue and the safety reasons why.
My fuel gage suddenly stopped working on my 2007 gmc envoy. It read that i had 1/4 tank left, so headed to the gas station on a city street. I turned the envoy off, for about a 15 minute stop, and when i turned it back on, the gage said it was empty. I filled the tank, and it still said it was empty, and the light is on. About 25 miles later, the gage popped up to 1/4 tank , but quickly dropped back down to read as empty again. The light stays on now. All other gauges on the dashboard work properly. The check engine light also came on, and is still on. I made sure my gas cap was on properly, and it was.i just purchased this vehicle on 12-30-15, so i do not know if there were any previous issues .my 2007 envoy had 61,061 miles on it when this occurred, on 3-4-16.
Filled gas tank and fuel gauge still reads empty.
My window switch controls and power door lock controls caught fire.
The hidden weldment holding the rear liftgate strut broke causing the strut to become dislodged and allowing the gate to violently fall on my back, shoulders and head. While painful for me this could have catastrophic impact on a child. I took the vehicle to a gm dealer who said they couldn't repair this and suggest i talk to a body shop.
Recently had the door lock windows switch issues repaired and now have intermittent door lock issues can't lock or unlock doors.
Power window & lock stop working intermittently.
2007 gmc envoy brakes continue to stay on after brake pedal is released.the vehicle continues to slow to a halt and or tires lock in place on their own. This happened on two separate occasions. Once while in the driveway and other on a crowded street.
I got into the truck to leave work shifted into reversed half way thru the turn the wheel locked up and truck shut off.i put in park and restarted no problem the next day same thing at a red light wheel lock needs to be restarted.it sounds like the same issues on the recall but my truck is not on the list.
Iwas driving my car and the wheel locked and my light service stabilitycame on.
The contact owns a 2007 gmc envoy. While in park, the vehicle independently reversed and crashed into a tree. The air bags failed to deploy. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
Passenger seat belt will not come undone.

Iwas driving my car and the wheel locked and my light service stabilitycame on.
Just bought my used envoy 7months ago and started pouring out power steering fluid. Got an estimate for 4 power steering lines and oil coller for a total of $1497 + tax. I've never had a vehicle that i had to add power steer fluid to. Seems like a dangerous situation.
I had been driving for about ten minutes when the security light on my instrument panel came on.this is the light indicating the passlock system had initiated.my steering wheel locked up so that i could not turn it at all, and the car began decelerating quickly on its own.
I got into the truck to leave work shifted into reversed half way thru the turn the wheel locked up and truck shut off.i put in park and restarted no problem the next day same thing at a red light wheel lock needs to be restarted.it sounds like the same issues on the recall but my truck is not on the list.

Takara recall, on top of the complaints available to pick from my power steering system has just now started leaking consistently, i take it into the shop and they cannot find anything. They just want to replace the entire system. I have to refill every 2 weeks at least.

Weather is in the single digits and i parked my 2007 envoy denali in my drive.i don't have a garage so it sits out in the extreme heat add cold.i thought i heard a noise outside and when i looked out my rear window was completely shattered.nothing hit it, nobody was down our isolated lane, it just decided to fail.i looked online and there are other owners mentioning similar problems with envoys and trailblazers over theyears.i have had multiple vehicles over my 54 years and i have never heard of a rear window exploding on it's own.to cut to the chase my vehicle was 9 months out of warranty, but i did get some money from the gm rep and the dealership.they told me the cost of the replacement was $850 and i was asked to chip in $200.i think this is different than tires or brakes wearing out with time and i thought they should completely cover the window failure.i am concerned that in another few years i could have the same problem because my car sits out in the elements.it was a mess but i couldn't help but think of the inconvenience and problems i could have had if it failed while traveling or on vacation.the security of the vehicle was compromised with the rear window completely gone and no alarm when the break occurred.fortunately i was home and could keep out the elements before i could get it repaired.i feel my dealer did what they could, but i think in this case gm should have done more.

My driver side power window / door regulator assembly cable frayed and the window would not move up or down until repaired. This happened to the driver side door window in august 2014. Now in march 2015, being 7 months later the same issue has happened to the front passenger side door window / door regulator assembly.
