I had a crash at 45 mph into a large tree $9000+ damage to the front end of my car and the airbag never went off. Onstar was called and helped me.

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the contact noticed that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to a local dealer nor an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was relating the failure to an unknown recall. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 14,000.

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy. The contact started the ignition and the fuel gauge displayed an inaccurate reading even though fuel had been dispensed into the fuel tank. While driving, the fuel gauge reading fluctuated which caused difficulty in determining the actual fuel tank level. In addition, the air bag warning indicator illuminated continuously whenever the vehicle was operative. There were also electrical issues which contributed to the radio not to function and the instrument panel cluster lights would not illuminate. The fuel sensor was replaced previously by the dealer and the failure recurred three years later. The vehicle had not been repaired for the most recent fuel gauge malfunction. There were no repairs performed in relation to the other failures. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 23,000.updated 4/2/12 the consumer stated the fuel level sensor failed twice. Also, ai =r bag warning light was fixed bymoving the srs wiring under the driver's sat. The radio and dash lights were replaced as well, due to inferior parts. Updatd 04/16/12

As i was driving down i-75 at 10:30pm my headlights just randomly went off!i was driving approximately 70 mph and i was in an area that had no lights alongside the road. I slammed on my brakes to attempt to move to the side of the road. After i slowed enough to move over, my headlights went back on. I was so shook up, i'm not sure if my rear lights went off as well. This type of incident happened again this past weekend and i had to pull to the side of the road and actually shut off the engine and re-start my car twice before my lights went back on.today, on my way to work, in the dark, just before i was pulling into our parking lot, they went off again. I also have noticed that when i press on the automatic window buttons, my lights dim and then brighten. Another issue is the dash light for the gas cap turns on and off randomly while driving the car. In addition, my air bag light has been on for several months, does not go off and yet, it not included in the recall of the dangerous airbags going off randomly and causing accidents and injuries. All of the above issues have occurred while the vehicle was in motion.i'm not sure if these are related or not. All of the issues are very serious safety issues and need to be addressed.

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy.while driving 65 mph the airbag activation light turned off without warning.the dealer stated that they were unable to duplicate the failure.also, theyfound a box of kleenex under the front passenger side of the vehicle.the contact statedthe vehicle had the same problem approximately three other times.the airbag sensor light will not reactivate.the dealer stated that the airbag occupant sensor system was working properly.the dealer advised the contact that she was too small to activate the airbag occupant sensor.the current mileage on the vehicle was 26,000 as of 05-02-07.

The contact stated that shortly after having the vehicle serviced under nhtsa campaign number: 13v248000 (electrical system, visibility), a fire erupted from the driver's side door panel area. The fire department was called to extinguish the fire and a report was filed. The vehicle was not inspected or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. I parked my car and went into a store and when i came out i could smell a burning smell. My car would not unlock from the drivers door and when i got into my car i seen that my electrical panel on the drivers side blew up.

2006 gmc envoy; replaced timing chain, failure of fuel pump, oil pump, electrical system driver's side door, washer fluid pump, tailgate latch failure and rear wash fluid line failure. Replaced or fixed all issues except, tailgate latch, rear washer fluid line, oil pump issue and suv will not hold oil pressure.

The ac blower resister overheated and melted. This is the second time in 3 years this has happen. The fan control usually goes out on all speeds followed by a strong smell of electrical wire burning.a online forum at trailvoy. Com has numerous threads of people complaining about this sane issue on their vehicle. One thread has 71 pages and is still growing(http://forums.trailvoy.com/showthread.php?t=32751).this is a fire hazard!

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy. The contact stated that while driving approximatley 40 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnose that the ignition switch was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 104,000 and the current mileage was 108,656.

I have had this issue 3 times -8/2012, 2/2013, 3/2014 - so i am on the 4th ignition switch in this car, mileage now approx 108,000. The 4x4, stabilitrak, abs and emergency brake lights come on then it beeps repeatedly. Sometimes concurrently, sometimes not the air blower stops working as well. This 3rd time, after the lights had been coming off/on for a few days, turning the blower on would trigger the lights to come on. For each of the 3 times, the gmc dealer has recommended replacement of the ignition switch (2x at my cost) on the most recent repair a voltage spike was acknowledged but the option to track this by installing inline fuses was not even offered until i had taken my issue to a higher authority. I declined as i don't care to put more money in a car that even one of the dealerships employees recommended i just sell and buy new. My concern is whether this car is a hazard to me and others? the service manager said when this occurs the ignition is essentially off and the car could stop but another person told me that no, it's another leg of the ignition and its okay. I don't know who to believe. ....updated 08/12/14updated 11/12/2014updated 8/28/2017

The fuel gauge does not read correctly. This has caused the vehicle to run out of gas several times now in the middle of traffic due to the gauge telling me i had more fuel than i actually had.

Electrical system has issues.the truck (with a new battery) need to be jumped.occasionally it will turn without a jump, the radio and other electrical items reset.the stabilitrac light comes on.

My 2006 gmc envoy xl gas gauge reads empty after filling, then slowly moves up after driving but will continue to lose pressure until it reads empty and the light is on. Sometimes it will just remain on the e an the light will be on when i have gas in my vehicle.

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy. When the contact turned off the vehicle and removed the key from the ignition switch, the passenger side rearview mirror would go up and down, the front driver's seat moved back independently, and all the instrument panel indicators remained illuminated. In addition, the contact had to use the dimmer switch to turn down the instrument panel lighting. The contact called becker buick gmc at (509) 455-3550 (located at 636 e sprague ave, spokane, wa 99202) and was informed that the vin was not included in a recall. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to nhtsa. The approximate failure mileage was 104,000.

Fuel gage stopped working. Fuel gage needle stayed on e after filling up. Stalled in left lane of interstate 80 in denville, new jersey with my two daughters. Their ages at time of incident were eight and eleven. Almost rear-ended by tractor trailers. All three of wouldhave been killed if the truck driver had not been alert and swerved to avoid us as i slowed and navigated to right shoulder.

Tried to turn on the air conditioning and discovered the fan did not work. After quite a bit of research and an expensive diagnosis, was informed the blower motor resistor was burned out. This appears to be a common, frequent, and expensive problem if done by the dealership. There are several potential hazards to families and children which include; the possibility of fire caused by the heated & melted wire, loss of air conditioning in the heat of the day which may cause heat stroke or worse, and loss of heat during the winter months making it impossible to drive safely without the windows icing over and inhibiting vision. A recall in order to repair the problems with the blower motor resistor is necessary. Mechanic states that both chevrolet and gmc model vehicles from 2004 to 2007 are being repaired with this exact problem. He has repaired 5 vehicles this month in the state of alabama. Mechanic also states that mileage is not the issue as he has seen low mileage gmc and chevrolets come in for repairs with this exact same problem. Please respond to this very expensive safety/ health issue as a vehicle recall.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Was driving and my car shut down.had no control of brakes, steering .lucky i was going straight .this is the second 3rd time this has happened.

This is the second time my blower motor and blower motor resistor has blown out in two months. Me and my two children had to drive from alabama to virginia on our family vacation in 110 degree weather without any air. Suv smelled liked melted wires. When i took it in again to have it diagnosed. Mechanic said these keep having the same problems. This is horrible. Another repair out of state will cost me $550, gmc needs to recall these [xxx] trucks!!!information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

When turning the key on the vehicle sometimes does not start and has twice from when i got it in feb 2012 all the internal electronics have shut down while driving

To start off, when you go in drive and start to move the truck lost power to the motor but still stayed running. Seemed like the truck didn't know if it wanted to be in 4x4 or 2 wheel. I tookmy foot off gas and min later it was fine. Keeps happening . Thedriver seat back support felt like it started to over heat the motor on it, now not working at all. And sometimes as i use my brakes and come to a stop easy it feels like i lost brakes as if abs keeps going nuts.

Gmc's campaign number is 12180 for this issue but when i called they said i would have to pay for the diagnosis and repair myself. Drivers side power window and door lock switch started rapidly clicking and smoking causing door lock control not to work and windows unable to roll down trapping passengers in vehicle.switch started working again the next day but is now not working or partially working again. Fuse did not blow.if this switch is used by accident it will make the other window switches not work for an extended period of time and then they randomly start working again.i have searched this issue on the internet and found model year 2006 gmc envoy and trailblazer have many reports of this issue since they were first sold in 2006 and 2007.

Driving at normal highway speed, the fuel gauge would register full, then would register empty, the low fuel warning light would illuminate, and the fuel gauge would not work again.the check engine light would come on and when i took the car to a mechanic, i was informed that i had a bad fuel sensor.this is a common problem and urge the safety administration to force gm to issue a recall. The safety factor, is running out of fuel with no warning on a street or highway and no safe way to pull off the roadway out of harms way.

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy.the contact smelled a burning odor coming from the vehicle and parked it overnight.the following morning, the air conditioning system would not operate.the dealer stated that there was a heating resistor that melted some of the wires in the ignition system.the wiring harness was replaced and the dealer advised the contact not to activate the air conditioning system on low power; only medium and high due to the power needed by the blower when running on low.after the repairs were made to the wiring harness, the fuel gauge became inoperable on the instrument panel.the failure mileage was 26,000 and current mileage was 27,000.

2006 gmc envoy 360 driving at night, the headlights cuts off.the power door locks, power windows switches and headlights function intermittently or may stop working, the air suspension won't raise to its normal level.*mwthe vehicle had to be jump started, because it would not start. The consumer attached recall letter 14v404000.however, the parts were not available.

I was driving about 65mph down i-35 in austin, texas and suddenly my car dropped to about 40mpg and the "stabilitrak off" message appeared. A definite safety hazard because someone could have, and almost did, rear-end me.i had to get off the freeway and turn my car off for about 10 minutes.restarted and made it home ok.today, august 28, the same thing happened again..it happens without any warning.there should be a safety recall on this.i'm surprised that there has not been a major incident when this happens.

In addition, the front driver's side power window operated on its own intermittently. There were no flames present, although both the power door lock and window control switch housing melted.the vehicle was maneuvered to the side of the road and towed to an authorized dealer. While driving down the highway and or while coming to a stop the engine just shuts itself off without warning. Everything in the inside stays on, but you have to put the vehicle in park and re crank.this is an extreme safety hazard and needs to be looked into.

The tailgate will occasionally not open.the actuator has already been replaced.the electrical system seems to also "act"up when this happens.the remote takes several times to open the doors.we have replaced the battery several times, the dome light does not come on anymore, the stereo turns off immediately when you turn the engine off, instead of staying on until you open one of the doors.

Driving when three lights showed up on instrument panel stabilitrak, check engine and reduced engine power light came on the envoy completely turned it self off. I waited a few minutes then started the car. It started the check engine light was the only light on. I got home and restarted car all lights disappeared. Next day driving the same thing happen. Three more times on the way to mechanic the envoy turned itself off. Find out the programmable control module pcm was defective. This car was purchased as a certified used vehicle 07/08. I then find out the part is readily available and not a special order. They refurbish this part with a one year warranty. I can not believe that gmc would engineer a car to entirely shut down when driving this could have been very dangerous had i been on the freeway going 65 mph, also that this should not happen as it is not a wear and tear issue. The codes that showed up were apparently not covered by gmc. With this part being readily available i must not be the only one who has had this happen. This was a costly repair, and i feel that someone should look to see if this has happen to others, before someone gets hurt or killed.

Wind shield wipers would go on .now they won't go off. Engine light wont go off feels like the car is going to stall out.mechanic said it will get worse and will start stalling out.i see a lot of complaints on these cars about the same thing i have going on.my gas gauge wont work. I brought my car for the recall for the drivers door last year and now my keys won't unlock the doors. Only the remote will open it. When i called about the doors and windows not working they said my vin wasn't under recall i called you and you got it fixed for me.ithink they need to check the electrical problems on the envoys. I have the same complaints so something is wrong with these vehicle.

The low beam headlamp does not work, there is no power going to fuse box to get to the fuse no power from source! i have saw were others have had fuse box issues!headlamp assembly ok, lamp ok ,fuse okno low beam headlamp because no power source!there are many complaints on line about lighting and fuse box!thanks [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy. While driving approximately 60 mph, the front driver side window rolled down intermittently and the power switch shorted out. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 140,000.

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy. The contact stated that the motor in the driver's door shorted out and the window regulator and motor were burnt. As a result, the vehicle almost caught fire. Smoke appeared from the door panel, which the contact managed to put out. Coyle chevrolet buick gmc (1801 broadway st, clarksville, in 47129, (812) 218-1100) diagnosed that the vehicle needed a new power window switch, fuse, and harness. The repairs were completed by an independent mechanic. When the contact discovered that the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 13v248000 (electrical system, visibility), the manufacturer was called and advised that the vehicle be taken to the dealer for reimbursement. The dealer did not reimburse the contact and presented the repair paperwork to the manufacturer. The contact was informed that reimbursement was not an option since the vehicle was repaired outside of the dealer and manufacturer. The contact stated that he did not know of the recall because he was not sent a letter. The failure mileage was 148,000.

Low beam headlights have stopped working.

One evening i was driving on the main highway and my inside lights came on. I pulled to the side of the road to check the switch but it was on auto. I turned it off but the lights stayed on. They were still on when i got home and parked turned off the ignition the lights were still on. The next morning my car couldn't start because it had ran my battery down. Another incident was my headlights went off one night while i was drive on the highway. I am also having problems with my gas gauge. My gas light comes on like i am out of gas. The last time i fill my car up with gas it hesitated. It didn't want to start. The light stays on when my car is full of gas. I smell gas. I sat at the gas station for an our because my car didn't want to start. The sound of my radio goes in and out. My lights continue to go on and off when driving or when not driving. One morning i got up to go to work, went to start my car and the headlights were on but the switch was off. I couldn't get the lights to go off when i got to work. They stayed on at least for 4 hrs. Sometime the lights doesn't come on when i put them on. I really have some weird things go on with my vehicle. I did get the module changed and they did some re-wiring in the door. One year before the module, i got them to check my car for a short and i was told from them that my wires were over heated. I paid about $900 to fix it. I strongly think it is a detect some wheres or something that would cause my wires to over heat.

Had problems with the heater's blower motor not blowing or sometimes blowing but not on every speed. Looked up issue on youtube and found many videos of the same issue and the videos showed them having to replace the heater's blower motor resister. As the resister was being replaced, we noticed the resister was melted onto the plug it plugs into and the thick red wire was also melted. Resister got replaced and the blower speeds all worked again. Shortly after installation of the new resister, the number 5 speed failed but all others continued. Three months later, the resister failed. Exchanged and replaced the resister again and worked on all speeds but 5 again. Had a smell to it while in use, we got use to it and thought nothing of it anymore. Worked for over 2 years until 1/12/2019 when as the envoy was in my yard warming up in below freezing temperatures, the vehicle caught fire without and warning and burned under the glove box catching the contents in the glove box on fire and making the vehicle burst into flames and even had an explosion inside the vehicle. Black smoke was pouring out on the area of the passenger side windshield wiper area. There was a hole in the windshield above the wiper.

While driving gmc envoy wipers move by themselves. Then stop after a min. Or so! as we pull out of the driveway water sprays and windshield wipers move constantly by themselves. All of these factors create horrible visability!

Safety issue:while driving homelast night both low beam headlights went off. Pulled over and stopped the vehicle as it was dark. Turned head light switch on and off, but could not get lights to work. Bright lights worked and so did driving lights, therefore i drove on home.i checked the gmc web site and found no callbacks. However under problems with envoy vehicles from general motors there are reports that this same electrical problem is being considered for a callback.

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy. While driving approximately 45-50 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed. A local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.

Hi ! as many other gmc envoy costumerstock at the earlier 50-100 thousand milles with engine problem caused by misfire cylinder . I do a have a problem with my suv engine the classic misfire #6 cylinder thatit cost a $2000 or plus to get repair , short worlds loosing the engine . If you guys check about this issue is extremely big and horrible thousand people a cross the country dealing with this issue .i did noticed this issue just driving , i got to stop sign and the engine starts shaking and the check engine come on , after i took to a mechanic shop for diagnostic and put about $200 dollars on spark plugs and coil and noting changed i was tell by the mechanic that it was a lower compression on the 6 cylinder so bad valve .

Car started on fire after turning it on seemed to come from dashboard, spread to front seats it was parked at the time, fire department stated it was from vents ,heating motor

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy. While making a sharp turn, the steering wheel made an abnormal noise and became difficult to turn. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact associated the failure with nhtsa campaign number: 05v455000 (steering). The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the soft copper high pressure hoses; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic and the high pressure hoses were replaced again. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.

The fuel gauge is not working whatsoever.it is always on empty and i cannot put any gas in the vehicle

Check engine light accompanied by engine cut-off when cold weather since november 2009.twice gmc dealership couldn't duplicate issue and no idea for check engine light.new development of fuel gauge failure each time of gas fill-up accompanied by fluctuating fuel level indicator.clicking noise coming from gas pedal for 3 years with increasing frequency.electrical system including gauges, speedometer, power steering noise, cruise control seem to be having issues.dealership claims no recalls, but electrical issues appear to be common according to edmunds.com forums for gmc envoys.

I have a 2006 gmc envoy denali that caught fire this morning, it was an electrical fire, caused in the hvac blower circuit, the circuit fuse did not blow, the cabin filled with smoke, and an open flame was created.i managed to put the fire out, however someone else in this situation might not have even been able to pull off a busy highway, let alone extinguish the fire as it was under the dash behind the glovebox.the symptoms before the fire were as follows:1)a faint burning electrics smell (electrical smoke is very distinctive)2)blower quit running(within 30 seconds of smell)3)cabin filled with smoke (within 1 minute of smell) to the point i could not see out the windshield4)open flame was present under dash (within 2 minutes of smell)the vehicle was in motion, 50mph, heating system was running, outside temperature 5* fahrenheit.this appears to be a common failure point as there are multiple repair kits available with new wiring connectors to replace damaged ones when replacing speed resistorthere were no previous issues with the hvacblower motor system

Both daytime running lights and headlights and high beams cut off while driving. Was pulled over for defective equipment. Wires in passenger headlight melted, didnt check drivers side. There are recalls on the 06 envoy headlights, but i was informed that it doesnt apply to my vin. Even though i am can no longer drive at night due to vehicle defect

Fuel gauge bounces aroundeven when full with gas. When filled, the gauge needle gets buried at empty with light and sound dinging. Then the check engine light comes on.

Wife's 2006 gmc envoy heater lights, and high blower quit working, took to corner service station to find out what was wrong and fuse block on heater motor was melted.talked to mike and he said when he opened service book,it told of this problem to check it first, needs wiring harness and fuse block replaced. If it melted together it sounds like a fire hazard,if it is first place to look in repair manual, sounds like its a defective parts problem.

When i turn on my right turn signal my high beams come on. This is a not only a safety issue but also causes road rage issues

I have had 2 problems with this vehicle. The first one was at 28000 miles, about 3 weeks after i bought the vehicle. The resistor for the heat/ac fan caught fire while i was driving at about 5 mph in heavy traffic. The fire went out on it's own by the time i had room to pull over (about 15-20 seconds). I was unable to get the part replaced right away so i hadto drive around in cold and icy conditions without even being able to run the defroster. The second problem was that at about 32000 miles my gas gauge broke. I had just filled the tank and was driving at about 65 on the highway. The gas gauge needle dropped to empty and stayed there. I made sure that i was not leaking gasoline and continued on my way. It worked intermittently for a while but is now completely broken. When i fill up my tank the engine light comes on for the first 25-100 miles and the gauge reads empty with the fuel light on. I am uncomfortable with using the 4wd or towing very much because even though i keep track of miles driven these things eat up more fuel. I don't want to run out of gas in the middle of the road. I have not gotten it fixed because of the repair cost.

2006 gmc envoy.consumer writes in regards to driver door module recall notice.the local dealer informed the consumer, the recall was listed. However, the consumer received a recall notice.

Stabilitrac and/or abs system engages when not necessary such as driving on dry, straight pavement at highway speeds. Causes vehicle to decelerate suddenly and almost lose control when brakes activate and motor retards. Electrical system also fluxuates (altimeter bounces from low to hi) causing a loss of power with associated loss of steering, lights, braking controls, at any speed. Problem has been increasing (frequency & severity) from july, 2009 to present (jan, 2010). Dealer shop did stabilitrac tsb firmware upgrade (and charged me) w/o correcting problem, also retested and "could not find anything wrong":battery is new but problem persists. 55,000 miles, mostly highway/improved roads. This occurs every time, literally, the vehicle is moved: 30-40 miles/day. 1/6/10 engine developed "low growl" noise and rpm dropped from ~800rpm to ~600rpm at parked idle w/o any apparent cause. Now idle at start is normal, but within 1-2 minutes drops and remains low with growl noise.

I have 2006 gmc envoy, whole door panel went out before recall, so we paid $2000 and had fixed, when recall came out, they reimbursed us. But because recall wasn't out yet i am thinking they put old part in, this was around 2008.you cannot drive a car safely with nothing working on driver door, i have kids in back i need window lock, can't open my door or window if emergency happened.very frustrating. I got a letter in august 2015 stating that recall #12180 driver door switch short circuit recall had not been done on my car yet.and approximately a week later it went out, i had been getting these cards but because i had it done in 2008 i assumed it was fine, but now doing exact same thing, so the gmc recall card says take to garber gmc in green cove springs, fl and will fix for free, first time i took it up there they said part not listed on computer so can't do it cause gmc won'tpay them back, then got service mgr involved and he said bring it up and he will charge me $90 to diagnose it, i said i don't have that kind of money.he waived it to see if it was the recall part, when i called to check on it the service man that handled it said it was that part but the recall had closed, my car had too many miles on it, etc.. What does that matter?i know it is the same part, it is doing the same thing.then i get from service manager we will do for $500.00, when first time cost us $2000, my husband said no, we have card here saying this is recall and you will fix for no charge, now they are saying it isn't that part, i have had several stories, but if it was recalled they need to fix it.whether or not it was done before the recall came out.they probably put old part in then, because recall had not been put out yet.please help me get my car fixed, very frustrating, dangerous as well.thank you.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

While servicing my vehicle at an authorized gm dealership, i was notified of the recent recall regarding headlamps which get hot and can fail. It has been nearly 8 months since that recall was issued, and yet there remains no identifiable remedy or solution as to how they will resolve the issue and repair / replace the defective components.. Entitled to safe vehicles, i am unsure as to how or why gm would believe that 8 months to not even have announced a solution is an absurdity. At this point, the period of time in which the manufacturer has had to develop and implement a solution is simply unacceptable as a consumer. I am under the belief that their solution to the problem is simple, they are going let the vehicles age a few more years and hope by that time, additional vehicles requiring repair will no longer be on the road and the issue will magically go away.as owners of this vehicle, i am entitled to the remedy as promised under recall gm 14291, and i do not think that it is acceptable for manufacturers to sit on open recalls for vehicles currently on our roadways which have been already been identified as having a safety defect in need of defect replacement or repair.

Starting in december 2007 every time i fill my gas tank the sensor light comes on and stays on, after a few miles the check engine light comes on.the gas gauge reads empty, then it will read something else.so i have to always reset my mileage so that i know how far i have went.this gmc is only 2 years old.it drives me nuts with this problem.it will finally reset to where the light goes off and the check engine light will go off.for a couple of days then i have to fill it again. I almost dread going to put gas in.

On 12/23/13, while parked the vehicle died. When restarting, it was a little slow but did end up starting. On 12/24/13, i had the battery tested and it showed that the cca's just needed a good charge so i let the vehicle run for 45 minutes. A few hours later, the vehicle would not even turn over. On 12/25/13, removed the battery and reinstalled it. The vehicle started fine and ran well for a few days. On 1/1/14, vehicle stalled while driving. Ended up restarting but i had to give it gas to do so. On 1/2/14, i started the car to warm it up and it started fine. I let it run for 20-30 minutes before attempting to drive it. When i got in the vehicle, it said that the brake system was not working and the stabilitrack light was flashing on and off intermittently. I had to get a cab to work & have it towed to the shop. I'm hoping to hear back tomorrow in regards to what is going on. Also, had to get a rental vehicle in the meantime for transportation.

Noticed a no traction in my cluster one month before the accident. When i turned the suv off the light would go away. I had a code check on it and had codes for my abs. Sensors where checked and tested. No fault in the sensors. The day of the accident as i was passing the person and switching lanes there was a red light ahead i applied my breaks and the no traction came on as i hit a small patch of ice. Traction did not kick on or abs leading me out to m-24 from a neighborhood road getting hit on the driver side fender by a chevy tracker. After much research and talking with ase tech's. A defective steering positioning sensor was defective and know in the 360 models to go bad. After the replacement no problem miles at 100097.

Difficulty steering when making aleft or fight tight turn.

Purchased a pre-owned 2006 gmc envoy from an authorized gmc dealer in columbus, oh, on 12/31/2014. Shortly after purchasing the vehicle, there were constant problems with the stabilitrak feature. The stabilitrak light would randomly come on, and then the abs would engage causing the vehicle to brake for no reason, while traveling on the highway. This also happens at lower speeds when traveling on residential streets. We've taken the vehicle in for service several times, spent lots of money, and no one can find a problem. Due to the stabilitrak constantly malfunctioning, it is extremely dangerous to drive this vehicle. Gm should be held responsible and issue a recall to fix this problem asap before someone gets killed in an accident as a result of this defect!

Was driving and my car shut down.had no control of brakes, steering .lucky i was going straight .this is the second 3rd time this has happened.

At the stop light vehicle stop running engine light stabilitrak light and loss power light came on.got home twisted the fuel cap a couple of times cranked it up and it went of. This is the second time it has happened.

Stability control light constantly come on for repair, second repair on fuel system, diagnostic shows problem in steering and right wheel.

The window master control on the driver side was getting hot

For more than a month my truck has cut off completely as i begin to break when i i am coming to a stop or when i am making a turn into a parking lot or at a corner. Sometimes it happens several times in a row during one trip. It always happens when i am in motion but once i turn on the hazard lights, put the car in park, turn off the ignition and restart it, it cranks right back up. I was told, based on my description that it could be a manufacturers defect in the turndown solenoid switch or sensor associated with the automatictransmission.this is a safety issue but i need my vehicle. This problem always occurs when i am on a city street. It has never happened on a highway/interstate when i am in perpetual motion.this is the only vehicle i have and i can't afford to leave it for more than a day at a shop, nor do i think i should shoulder all the responsibility for paying for repairs if it is a defect inherent in the vehicle. Please advise me as soon as possible if there is any recourse i can take against the manufacturer so i can have these needed repairs done immediately.i have already had the gear shift cable replaced about two months ago thinking that this was the problem. That was a $250 job with parts and labor.

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30 mph, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnosis. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 120,000.

The vehicle shows that the fuel tank is on empty shortly after being filled up. Also the engine will die at randoms times driving down the road. Also the head lamps fail at random times.

While driving down the highway and or while coming to a stop the engine just shuts itself off without warning. Everything in the inside stays on, but you have to put the vehicle in park and re crank.this is an extreme safety hazard and needs to be looked into.

While driving my vehicle without any notice whatsoever it will just shut off right in the middle of traffic. This has happen on several occasions. After a few hours of sitting it will start up immediately. They have not been able to diagnose the problem. We have had the fuel canister, ignition switch and evap sensor all replaced it is doing the same thing. By the way i've had the engine replaced, the transmission replaced the leveling boots replaced and still making payments. There was a recall on the fuel sending unit and they told me because of the mileage they couldn't replace it, but they had evidence at 79000 miles that it was bad because i had it diagnose for that same problem. From the time i purchased this truck it has been nothing more than a nightmare. I pray somebody could get me some assistance on this truck.

Radiator and transmission went while driving on a highway. My mechanic told me the part that failed never fails and he was shocked that it did.

Envoy gmc 2006 power steering becomes difficult at low speeds. Must use two hands to turn wheel. Power steering fluid not the problem.engine light inadvertently comes

Submission from constituent re recalls-2006 gmc envoy.the consumer stated, her husband was driving, when suddenly the vehicle stalled. He was able to coast safely to a stop. However, the vehicle would not re-start, and the vehicle had to be towed. According to the invoice, the ignition cylinder was replaced.also, on numerous occasions, the air bag light illuminated, and remained on for days. The consumer referenced recall # 06v417000. I had just purchased my envoy a few days prior and was on my way to get gas. The fuel was low but the fuel light was not on. When i stopped at a red light, my envoy died. This happened at every stoplight until i put gas in it. This has happened multiple times since then. It happens anytime my vehicle is between 1/4 tank & empty. The fuel light is not on when this occurs. It almost seems as if there is not as much gas in it as the fuel gauge reads. It has only stopped one time while i was actually moving (as i was coming down a ramp to get on the interstate). It did not start back up immediately when i attempted to restart it that time, but took several tries before it started. It will literally die every time i stop until i put gas in it. There have also been a few times where i have slowed for a red light, then the light turned green so i went to accelerate and the vehicle either sputtered and felt like it was not getting gas, or died completely. Luckily, most times i can put it in neutral & get it to start right back up without having to pull over. However, i feel that his is a serious safety issue for myself & the other motorists traveling behind me as i travel very busy roads on my way to and from work. I have learned to keep the fuel above 1/4 tank but the way this thing burns gas, it does get low from time to time before i get to the gas station. I don't know if it's a fuel system issue or if the gas gauge is incorrect but this needs to be recalled because it is definitely a hazard for myself and others.additionally, everytime i start my vehicle since it has gotten cold, it idles very high - like a loud high pitched whirring noise. It then goes very low and almost sputters. It does this several times before leveling off and sounding 'normal'. Again, i don't know if this is a gas or engine issue but i feel like it is not getting gas.

While driving vehicle, started to rough idle and almost caused a vehicle accident because i was unable to stop the car while driving, engine shutdown while driving and lost all power and braking & steering ability, restated vehicle and got burning gas smell from vehicle exhaust pipe and check engine light on with code p0014, got vehicle serviced and had new sensor installed but now getting pinging sound from engine under load and while driving at speed and minor vibration while at idle. I feel this is a serious issue with this vehicle where almost feel unsafe driving vehicle due to running risk of engine shutdown while at speed and unable to steer or brake when engine stalls due to this condition with code p0014 in cars computer. Would really like to be contacted about this issue, gm should have a recall to inspect these systems and provide free repairs of any faulty sensors and provide a full service check on this vehicles. I felt real unsafe to drive this vehicle due to worrying about causing engine damage or having a accident because of this high end failure of this componet

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy. The contact stated that when coming to a stop, the vehicle would shake violently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the cylinder head valve seats were wearing out prematurely and as a result, the cylinder and the valve seats needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 98,000 and the current mileage was 138,000.

Driving on the highway the vehicle suddenly read empty on the fuel gauge, then the panel said low oil pressure shut off engine. I ran out of gas on a busy highway passing lane almost causing a bad accident with my 5 year old in the back seat as i could not tell my fuel level. The fuel gauge would work sporadically over the next few days and the low oil pressure would go away and come back. When i had this checked out it was thought to be the oil sending unit so it was changed along with the fuel sending unit. The fuel sensor was resolved at a cost of $300 but the low oil pressure came back on even though oil was well maintained. Suddenly on 3/1/2012 the engine ran load when started up. I had towed to the shop where (gm where they determined the engine was no good. I had it towed to another shop that determined the engine was no good as well. I had to pay to replace the engine almost $5000. I then looked online for this issue and found a website trailvoy.com (represent chevy trailblazer and gmc envoy). Here i found 1000's of post of people having the same issues looking to file law suits and wondering why we can have no recall on this dangerous vehicle. There ore 1000's of people having low oil pressure, dead engines with low mileage vehicles, run out of gas on busy roads such as myself and much much more. The gm issues we've experienced and are experiencing has been here long before the current issues of gm vehicles. How can we get someone willing to have this vehicle and issues on the recall list and get reimbursed for the 1000's of dollars spent to repair this very defective vehicle. If a petition will do it please shine some light on this. I had received post on the forum from numerous people willing to join a class action suit and many were consulting attorneys on how to move forward with this. This is a major issue that we desperately need the nhtsa to look into.

Was driving and my car shut down.had no control of brakes, steering .lucky i was going straight .this is the second 3rd time this has happened.

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy. When starting the vehicle, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 104,000.

While traveling on the interstate this morning, the speed on my 2006 gmc envoy dropped suddenly and i had to pull to the side the road where the car completely stopped.i notified onstar, who performed a diagnostic test and indicated there was an issue with the fuel delivery system.the car would start up again, but only momentarily and the engine would die again.i had it towed to my home and am contemplating what to do at this point in terms of repair.there was another issue just over 2 months ago when the fuel gauge was not working and it ran out of gas.no indicator light ever came on.there was at least 15 gallons of gas in the vehicle today, as i had just filled it up a few days ago and had not traveled far.i have filled it up every weekend since the indicator light incident.about 2 years ago, i had to replace other parts related to the fuel..possibly called a fuel regulator??which was mounted to the gas tank.this occurred at 37,000 miles. I was denied an inspection sticker because of an issue with emissions and had to replace that part as well.

Dt*: the contact stated that the vehicle does not accelerate smoothly and makes a loud noise during the first 3 minutes of driving.the accelerator pedal must be depressed all the way to the floor for the vehicle to move, and then normal acceleration begins after driving 3 minutes.the vehicle was taken to the dealer on 05/02/06 who could not duplicate the problem. The dealer representative inspected the vehicle on 07/20/06 and determined that the clutch fan that cools the engine created the noise but could not determine the cause for the acceleration problem.the manufacturer was alerted on numerous occasions who finally identified that it is normal for the vehicle's acceleration to perform in the documented manner.updated 08/15/06. 8jb

While driving on the expressway at about 11pm, going 70 miles per hour, my headlight just went out.i turned the control switch on and off to see if they would come back on but they didn't.i pulled onto the side of the road and check to see if my other lights were working (blinkers, flood lights, brights) and they were.my headlights however weren't.i tried turning the truck on and off to see if they would come back on but they didn't.after sitting there with the car off for about 10 minutes, i started it back up and they came on.i had to turn around and go back home in fear that i couldn't finish my trip because i didn't know if my lights would go out again.since this first incident, my light go out on a daily basis and at random.they have gone outwhile my truck has been in park as well as while i've been driving.i have taken it into the shop and after them having my truck for 9 hours, they told me they worked the whole time while they had it (go figure).i took my truck back in this morning because it was happening again and i was able to show to them that my switch was registering my headlights as being on when they weren't.i have contacted gmc to file a complaint and was told at this time there wasn't much they can do and that i just need to get it repaired.hard to do when no one will acknowledge the problem.i am beyond frustrated because i am limited when i can drive my vehicle due to this major issue that can happen at anytime without any warnings.

I was driving to church on a major highway, it was raining and dark suddenly, my low beam lights went out. I stoppedand turn the high beam on and when i turn the high beam off after 2 or 3 minutes the low beam came back on. The next day the same thing happened again on my way from work, driving down a city street and they just went off. I pull over and turn the high beam on and off for several minutes and they came back on. Really afraid now to drive at night. I used this vehicle for traveling on vacations, never had any problem with the lights until now.

Both headlights stop working simultaneously.replaced relay which fixed problem.both headlights again stopped working september 2014.brights work but not low beam.very dangerous situation.

One evening while driving my vehicle on the highway, my headlights cut off. At first i didn't realize it until everything just appeared darker than usual. I had to switch to my high beams to finish the travel to my destination. This has happened continuously since then. Lights will come on at the start of the vehicle but shut down in no specific amount of time. I have taken it to three mechanics including a gm dealer and the vehicle lights stayed on during diagnosis. As of last night the lights did not come on at all. I will be returning to the dealership in the a.m in hopes that i may find a diagnosis and the solution. I can no longer drive my vehicle at night because i have already been pulled over by the police for this issue.

Low beam headlights have stopped working.

Driving on freeway at night and both headlights went out at the same time while traveling at 55mph. Was told my 2006 envoy had a history of electrical problems.

The car was on a recall back in 2016.letter told me to wait because the part was being made and when it became available i would be notified to take it to a gmc dealer to have it installed free of charge.the headlights would and dash lights would dim, get bright or go off completely just prior to the part becoming available.i took it in on jan 12, 2017 to have the recalled part replaced.on dec16, 2017 i had it back to the dealer for the same problem. They said they would have to do a diagnostic ($90.00).i called gmc in jan 2018 and talked with a service represenative and he refused to help me in any way.told me my car is 12 years old (71,807 miles on it currently) and i was on my own. Even me explaining to him that the headlights are doing the same problem before the hdm module was replaced on the recall.that went in one ear and out the other.he basically told me to have a good rest of the day.i continue to have the problem and do not drive the car at night, so i am stranded in doing evening gatherings or festivities with family or friends. It wouldn't be unusual for the part they replaced to become faulty since they just had it made for the recall. Though he really didn't seem to care about my issue at all.the vehicle is in motion and headlights are on when the problem happens.

Headlights go out. Has happened several times while driving and 1 time would not come on when vehicle was started at night. If we had not had fog lights, we could have a bad accident or at very least been stranded on the side of the road.

My low beam headlights will not stay on and sometimes cannot be turned on. Problem has existed intermittently for several months. Now it is a constant problem. Totally unsafe, especially since my car is silver and blends into the road. Dealer says my vin is not included in current recall for this problem. I need it fixed.

Headlights are not operating correctly.while navigating and in motion, low-beam headlamps fail to illuminate.this issue self-corrects without any intervention.the period for self-correction seems to be random.high-beams headlamps, marker lamps, turn signsals or fog lamps are not affected.this happens at all speeds regardless of highway or street navigation.

The vehicle shows that the fuel tank is on empty shortly after being filled up. Also the engine will die at randoms times driving down the road. Also the head lamps fail at random times.

While driving my headlights have begun to cut off for about 5 to 10 minutes, then come back on.if not for my fog lights i would not be able to see.

Purchased a 2006 gmc envoy. The high beam headlights project a beam of light straight up from each light into the drivers and passengers field of view. It is not noticeable during dry conditions, but when there is mist, snow or fog it is very visible and distracting. You can see this effect by parking next to a building or parking in your garage. It lights up the ceiling in the garage very nice. I thought headlight were to project out, not up. In dry conditions, the trees are lit up by the bright lights. My dealer contacted gm and was told to check another truck, which did the same thing. Gm then said there was not a problem. This is my 3rd new gmc truck, and none of the others did this. I have never driven a vehicle that has done this.

Fuel system:after filling up my 2006 gmc envoy with fuel my vehicle would not start.it took 2 attempts of turning the ignition in order for my vehicle to start.the fuel meter still continued to read empty.any time, i would stop and restart the vehicle, i had the same issue.i called onstar to provide me with a goodwrench diagnosis on the vehicle and they stated the diagnosis was the fuel system.onstar stated the vehicle needed to be serviced within 7 days.i noticed there was an investigation for this same issue that was opened on january 7, 2010.

Inaccurate and/or erratic fuel level indication, due to faulty fuel level sending unit, can result in vehicle running out of fuel with no warning to the driver ultimately resulting anunsafe driving condition with possible danger to the driver, passengerand surrounding vehicles and pedestrians.

Fuel gauge on 2006 envoy reads empty all the time after functionally fluctuating for some time.this is a dangerous situation driving long distances as it is impossible to guess accurately the amount of fuel in the car.repair is expensive and this is apparently a common defect in these vehicles.

I've owned this car since it was brand new in feb 06.my fuel gauge hasn't worked in 3 years.it constantly reads empty with the light on.i have to refuel every 300 miles to ensure i don't run out of gas.i was quoted $500 to fix it and i don't have that kind of money.therefore, it continues to be faulty.

After fueling up my 2006 gmc envoy the gas gauge reads empty.this failure has been occuring since january of 2011.

Fuel level sensor quit working

Fuel sensor stopped working shortly after purchase.must set trip odometer to determine amount of gas remaining.have been stranded because of faulty fuel gauge.

At about 40,000 miles the fuel level sensor began to act erratically.at first, it would read empty occasionally and, on it's own, return to normal operation.after a few months, it began to read empty immediately after filling the fuel tank until about a eighth of a tank had been used.eventually, it failed altogether and always reads empty.this condition confuses the engine computer causing the check engine light to light frequently.

The fuel gauge would go from empty to full, then back down to half a tank. It did that for a month or so even after we would fill it up. Now it just stays on empty with the fuel light and engine light on. I had the diagnostics ran on it and it was the fuel sensing unit. Now more recently it will just die and stall out while driving. Its done that twice now in the past 2 weeks, once with my 2 year old daughter in the car with my wife, luckily they were close to a safe area to coast into. I know that the tank had gas in it, we reset the trip everytime we fill up and that's all we do so we can have an accurate reading, we usually go around 360 miles before we fill up again. The first stall we have only gone around 230 miles. So gas was in the tank. We have not done anything to replace it yet for financial reasons, but as it keeps stalling we may need to do something soon, its an expensive repair. I've had it estimated at $750.

Fuel gage in our 2006 gmc envoy first became erratic then failed.took vehicle to local reputable repair facility.they informed me that the sending unit on the fuel pump is known to fail in this vehicle.had to replace fuel pump (i was told fuel pump and sending unit were one piece).the fuel gage began towork again once fuel pump/sending unit were replaced.the total repair was expensive (parts and labor).

We have a 2006 gmc envoy that has been experiencing fuel gauge issues.this has caused us to run out of fuel and now not be able to rely on the amount of fuel remaining.this shows both on the analog gauge and the mile remaining section of the suvs dash display system.after filling the fuel tank the gauge goes to empty then jumps to full then drops down to empty and then the check engine light goes on.this issue is constant now and creates a distrust in the status of the vehicle..i have read many complaints online and no response to fix this persistent issue by gmc.

Failure of the fuel sending unit on my 2006 gmc envoy and others gmc envoys and chevy trailblazers.a flood of information is available regarding this problem on the internet.most can not understand the lack of a recall to fix this situation.situation: erratic or empty gas gauge reading even when the tank is full.a full tank reads empty right out of the gas station. The gauge moves up and down with no reliability.the reading is fluctuating the entire time spent driving when not reading empty.the problem occurred within a month of the warranty expiring.

Fuel gauge has not worked for approximately 18-24 months; must use trip meter to determine number of miles traveled forcalculation of next fill-up.low fuel indicator light is always on.engine indicator light appears upon each refill and eventually goes off after a number of miles are traveled.current odometer reading:75,314

Well documented elsewhere--fuel gauge failure in gmc envoy, vehicle out of warranty.

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy. The contact stated that the fuel gauge was defective. When she filled the fuel tank, the gauge would indicate that the tank was empty and the gas light would illuminate. The failure occurred everytime she filled the fuel tank. The vehicle had not been inspected or repaired. The manufacturer had not been notified. The current mileage was 76,721. The failure mileage was approximately 76,600.

The fuel gauge does not read correctly. This has caused the vehicle to run out of gas several times now in the middle of traffic due to the gauge telling me i had more fuel than i actually had.

My 2006 gmc envoy's gas gauge has been fluctuating from empty to full on fill ups for over 2 months and now it is stuck on empty even when tank is filled. My mechanic said it would cost $800 to replace the fuel sending unit and fuel pump. Many other owners have similar issues.

1) wife and child stranded on highway between in summer heat. Stranded again north of dallas.2) fuel sensor failure3) will have to replace fuel sensor ($500+) fix.from research is a huge problem with 2005 -2006gm/gmc envoy and blaze. Over 590 complains at the following site alonesee http://www.topix.com/forum/autos/chevrolet-trailblazer/. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

The vehicle started to mark empty fuel tank and sometimes full tank, until the check engine light came on, after that the fuel gage marks empty, i took the vehicle to the dealership on october 2009 and their response was that the truck was out of warranty and if i need the repair i would have to pay. I contact gm on their 1-800 number but their automated response denied any claims. A few months ago i received a letter from gm acknowledging the problem and willing to share half of the cost for the repair. Why should i pay for their failure and bad quality? the parts should have been tested at least a million cycles, but apparently not, and my vehicle failed at the 78th time of fill-up the tank, what a shame....

2006 gmc envoy fuel gauge not working correctly.

I have a 2006 gmc envoy.two months ago after filling up my gas tank the gauge indicated no fuel, and then it would fluctuate, from full to empty.now it is a daily occurrence.the gas tank is full and reads empty, the engine light comes on,then it reads i have half a tank, then no gas and back up to full.i know other owners have problems and hope there will be a recall soon on this.i also have a problem with my outside temperature gauge in my rear view mirror,i do not get an accurate reading. When it's 70 degrees out, it reads -34 degrees. I havea problem with my blower, the highest level does not work.

I purchased a 2006 envoy in august, 2009, with 36,000 miles on it.on tuesday, october 26, 2010, while driving to work, i noticed thefuel gauge started to read 1/4 tank full.when i left home 45 mins. Earlier, it read 3/4 tank full (i work approx. 7 miles from home).by the time i got to work, the gauge read "e" and the fuel light came on.when i fill the tank, then the light goes out.gauge fluctuation began around 1/2 tank full. I read many, many complaints about the 2006 envoy fuel level sensor, and me and hundreds of other consumers believe there should be a recall immediately from gmc!!!!my thing is why wait until some unfortunate event happens, as someone being stuck on a road or worse, a life being loss!!

After filling vehicle with gas, the gas gauge goes to e and the light and buzzer come on.

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy.she experienced failures with the abs system.the fuel gage registered empty when the gas tank was full and also the seats and windows electrical switch. While driving at night on august 11,2009 all lights failed.she will take the vehicle to the dealer.the failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 41,590.

Fuel gauge drops to empty even if tank is full.will also fluctuate at any time so accurate level is unknown.danger of running out of gas with no warning while driving!!!!

Fuel gauge stopped working properly.

Incorrect fuel level reading may result in the vehicle running out of fuel without warning to the driver

Fuel sensor/gauge reads empty even though fuel tank is full.needle continues to fluctuates while driving providing an inaccurate read of duel state.

Fuel system:the fuel gage has been going to empty after a fill up.after about 50 miles it would appear to work until more gas added.now it is in total failure with an obd light intermittently.obd light useless as no way to immediately determine if the gauge is the only problem.have been using the trip odometer to approximate fuel remaining for more than 10k miles.fear is that the associated fuel pump will fail as is all one part.

Air bag warning light on.fuel gauge sensor malfunction.

It seems that my vehicles fuel sending unit is defective after only 40,000 miles and through further investigation i found there are many other owners of this line of vehicles that are experiencing this identical problem. I have been told that it will cost over 800.00 to repair this with no guarantee that it won't happen again. I think this problem should be recalled as most owners of this vehicle are quite upset that they have to pay out of pocket for this defective part to be replaced.

The gas gauge on my 2006 envoy starting acting crazy going from empty to full and mostly staying on empty all the time.this has been a command problem with this model and other gm vehicles and should be recalled.i haven't been left on the side of the road or rearended yet from running out of gas, but it's certainly a concern.

2006 gmc envoy fuel gauge started to work erratically - would go to empty after car was filled up. Eventually stopped working altogether and the check engine light would cycle on and off. My wife drives this truck to work and could have a serious problem if she ran out of gas on the freeway. Luckily, the first time it ran out of gas was in a residential neighborhood. Took it into the shop and was told that they couldn't just replace the problem part (which is the fuel sensor) and need to replace the entire fuel pump at a cost of nearly $1100.00updated ivoq 08/24/10

After filling up my gas tank the gas sensor light comes on and shows that i have no gas at all.then the check engine light comes on and the gas level indicator moves back and forth giving inaccurate and random readings while driving the vehicle.i can't actually tell how much gas is in the tank.i wind up having to fill the tank everyday to know that there's a full tank.

Gas hand failure.

2006 envoy. Sending unit failure. Gas gauge fluctuates between full and empty. Immediately following a fill up, the gas light comes on and the gauge is on "e".

The gas gauge has failed. It reads empty all the time. It is a very expensive repair, and the places willing to repair it are few and far between. The dealership is extremely expensive in this area. I understand many, if not most envoys have this problem, and it can be dangerous, especially here in fairbanks, alaska, where the temperature is easily -40 and sometimes colder. That is not a situation where running out of gas or a fuel situation occurring is something that a person is going to easily navigate during at least eight months out of the year.

The fuel tank level sensor is defective and could result in a subject vehicle running out of fuel becoming stranded, stall, and being rear ended by another vehicle.

Gmc envoy 2006 fuel gauge bad reading, my car ran out gas when the fuel gauge show full.

The gas gauge is not working properly on my 2006 gmc envoy. It reads 1/4 tank when i fill up.then it will go up after driving it for an hour.

2006 gmc envoy fuel gauge stopped working around 40k miles. Always shows to be empty with low fuel light always on.have not fixed yet.i always reset trip meter in order to refill tank every 275 - 300 miles.waiting on recall.

2006 gmc envoy: fuel tank sensor shows fuel then doesn't, bounces back & forth. I drive in the mountains and am now very paranoid that my car will run out of gas and leave me stranded on a mountain highway....very dangerous.mechanic says error code is po463. I am so afraid to drive my car alone now... So i stop gong down & then back up the hill just in case i can put in more gasoline.my car also has a drivers' side master control window that burned.... Could have started a fire. When my mechanic took it apart, he showed me the burned areas,... Smells bad.

My fuel gauge fluctuates while i'm driving and especially right after i fill up the tank. The gauge sometimes reads full when the tank is close to empty. At times it will read empty when it's full.

2006 gmac envoy.upon filling gas tank to full the check engine light comes on and the fuel gauge shows empty.gauge will fluxuate between empty and full for 10-20 miles.then it will show full and the check engine light goes off.for the next couple of days it will swing back and forth between full and empty.then it seems to work, although i'm not sure, it just does not swing quickly.i think this is a severe hazard...what if i was going 70 mph on the highway when and it shows 1/2 tank, but runs out of gas.steering would be impaired and an accident could result.

My gas light comes on and stays on.even if i fill my car the gas stays on empty and the light is on, it used to go back up and then drop but now it doesnt move.the engine light is on too.

2006 gmc envoy. Fill up the gas tank to full and the gas gauge reads as empty! you drive the truck for a few miles then the gauge will read normal. Then fill up again and reads empty. I have seen alot of people online with this same exact problem.. Seems like every 2006 has this problem.

Fuel gauge level does not work on 2006 gmc envoy.

Gas gauge failed to work correctly.it would read empty after just filling up, sometimes it would appear to work and show there was more or less gas than there actually was.ran out of gas a few times, due to failure of the gas gauge.finally had to have it replaced (some sort of sensor), cost a few hundred dollars to replace.

My '06 envoy slt fuel gauge stopping working approx a month ago.when i fill up the tank the gauge still indicates empty.

2006 gmc envoy ran out of gas on a busy road going to work while the gas gauge read that there was gas in the vehicle.

Inaccurate fuel gauge reading resulted in vehicle stall (disabled) while driving. Fuel gauge shows more fuel available than is actually in the fuel tank. Gauge reading may jump up and down during driving.

Fuel sensor out.this is the 2nd gmc i have owned that this has happened with. The first was a 2005 gmc envoy slt.

2006 gmc envoy. Fuel sensor is not working. While gauge usually stays at e even after filling the tank, occasionally it will fluctuate between empty and full.i have run out of gas several times because of this. Running out of gas on the highway or busy streets is dangerous.

My gas gauge started off fluctuating between full and empty back in october 2010.now it's just stuck on empty all the time, and as soon as i turn the car on, the low fuel bell dings, the panel tells me i have low fuel (even if its full), and the check engine light comes on.

Gas gauge reading was sporadic and finally went to empty with the out of fuel warning light and out of fuel warning buzzer on.

The contacts owns a 2006 gmc envoy.the contact stated that the fuel gage indicated inaccurate levels on the instrument panel.the dealer and manufacturer were contacted but the vehicle was not repaired.the failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage is 71,223. Updated 08/01/11*ljupdated 08/11/11

Fuel level gauge will read full or partially full when fuel tank is actually empty.or when fuel tank is full, the fuel gauge will still read empty and low fuel indicator light is on.vehicle actually ran out of fuel when the fuel gauge read 1/4 tank.vehicle stopped just out of a busy intersection, could have resulted in major accident.

I've owned my 2006 envoy for about a year when the gas gage kept saying that it was empty even though it was full.i had it fixed but it is upsetting i had to come up with the money to fix this problem myself.i find it interesting there are so many other complaints about this issue and there is nothing being done about it.

I have a 2006 gmc envoy with 51,000 miles on it. The fuel gauge would fluctuate between empty and full and now is stuck on empty. It has left my wife on the side of the road a few times because she had no idea how much fuel she had. One time in the middle of the night on a business trip. I don't want my wife stuck in the middle of nowhere because gm is to cheap to fix a very widespread problem on this issue. There are numerous tsb's on this issue on the internet concerning this issue with gm vehicles. They know the problem but when you contact them they say it isn't covered and will cost around $800 to fix. I s shouldn't have to pay for a fix to a very well known problem on a vehicle not that old. This is very much a safety issue when the car shuts down and you loose power steering in the middle of traffic, not to mention stuck in the middle of nowhere. Sooner or later it will cause a wreck if it hasn't already.

Hello,i want to file a complaint about my 2006 gmc envoy. I've recently been having issues with my fuel gauge, when i fill up my gauge says i'm empty and then slowly creeps back up to full, however, it then fluctuates between full and empty and never gives an accurate reading. I feel this can cause a huge issue for people if they don't know their gauge isn't accurate.

Driving to work at 5 am about 3/4 of mile from home, auto slowed, headlights deemed slightly, rpm's fell. Barely able to coast auto to side of road. Call for roadside assistance. While talking to agent i open door and smelled gasoline. Agent informed me to call fire department to ensure auto safe to move. Fire department arrived and said fuel was still dripping from auto, but they did spread something on fuel and waited until rollback removed auto. Auto was taken to gm dealer for repairs. When notified of repair completion i went to dealership. They told me i must have ran over something that pulled fuel line off, and that it was a 1 in a million event. I did not run over anything so i did not believe this statement. I research and found other have had same problem. I am worried because on the repair ticket it states customer states gas leaking as soon as the keyturned was on, checked and found quick connect line pulled apart in front of fuel tank. Reconnected line all checks good at this time. I did not state fuel was leaking as soon as key was turned on. I was driving and almost unable to get auto to roadside. Very dangerous and if the only repair was to reconnect a line that had fallen off, it seems very likely to happen again.

I have a 2006 gmc envoy, in july 2010 my vehicle low fuel light came on shortly after i filled my tank, the low fuel light was glowing and the bell was sounding as if i was on empty in august the problem continued to occur off and on, in september the problem seem to get worse.now in october i am not sure how much gas in actually in my gas tank, the light constantly glows and the bells constantly sounds as if i am on e.i have two young children as well as foster children i do not want to put them in danger but i feel this is a very serious problem that gmc needs to address before an accident occurs due to the vehicle stalling.

The gas gauge on my suv stopped working.i went to the gas station with 1/4 tank to fill up.once i was done and started my suv the gas gauge showed empty and it continues to read empty even after other fill ups.

Check engine light on... Fuel gauge says empty... Bell indicates no fuel.this comes on right after i fuel up.

Low fuel warning light does not come on. - this is the third time that i nearly ran out of fuel without any warning.the engine stalled; however, i was able to restarted it and there was just enough fuel for me to limp into a gas station.

In early 2010 my 2006 gmc envoy began having issues with the fuel gauge immediately after a fill up.the gauge reads empty, the check engine light comes on then the gauge will rise and fall for the next 50 to 100 miles.

The gas gauge on my 2006 gmc envoy always registers at "e."i have talked to gmc and there is no help with this situation though there have been hundreds of complaints on the same thing.when i called customer service they were rude to me and didn't give me a customer complaint number.i am having to gage my gas by keeping track of the mileage through the trip-ometer.thank you for any assistance you can give me on this issue.

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy.the contact was stopped at a red light when the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact stated the vehicle stalled due to the lack of fuel in the vehicle however, he was unaware of the lack of fuel in the vehicle. The fuel level gauge was providing inaccurate fuel level readings and the contact was made aware of the failure through a diagnosis by the on-star system.the contact called the dealer and the dealer advised that there were no recalls regarding the fuel gauge failure.the failure mileage was 91,450.

Gmc envoy 2006 fuel gauge reads incorrect fuel level beginning on 8 june 2010 (the vehicle had less fuel than the fuel gauge stated it had).problem persists through the remainder of the month and into july.beginning on 15 aug 2010, fuel gauge would constantly change readings from e to f and vice versa for a few days immediately after each fill-up.

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy. The contact stated that the gas gauge in her vehicle has malfunctioned by her filling her tank and the gauge not moving up once she starts the vehicle. The vehicle was inspected by a independent and they advised her that the fuel sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 83,000.

1) fuel gauge reads empty- has been like this for about 6 months. Began as an intermittent problem, but now is always on empty.2) power steering:makes a whirring sound when i turn the steering wheel - beaman gmc service in nashville has the detailed records, but i brought it in before for this, and it was repaired temporarily, but the sound has been back again for several months.

We request that nhtsa open an investigation into the performance/reliability of the fuel level sensor on the 2006 gmc envoy. Recently, we filled up the gas tank, started the car and the gauge went to full, we started to drive away, then the gauge dropped to empty. Now, the gauge continually fluctuates somewhere between empty and 1/4 to 1/2 full so we never know. The repair is extremely costly and our research shows there are numerous complaints about this problem and the failures seem to conveniently occur after the warranty has expired. Without a proper functioning gauge, we have to continually estimate the gas level and run the risk of serious accident/injury if our vehicle should stall and/or run out of gas.

I own a 2006 gmc envoy that was purchased in march of 2008.the vehicle worked perfectly until june of 2008, when the fuel gauge began behaving erratically.anything less than 3/4 full tank was registering as "empty".at this time, february 2009, the gauge constantly reads "empty", even after filling up.i have seen numerous consumer complaints on automotive forums and the gmc website, however, no recall has been issued for the fuel float that causes the problem.i personally cannot afford $300 for parts and labor to fix this problem, and have been reduced to carrying paper and pencil to try and monitor my fuel consumption and mpg so i do not run out of gas in the middle of nowhere with two small children.

2006 envoy only has 50,000 miles and the flywheel is going bad which may lead to future problems with the transmissionthere is also a fuel gauge problem where i fill up the car completely and it still reads empty.to replace this would be $800 dollars!!!i have found other websites where other people who own this car are having the same problems.there needs to be a recall!!!!!!!this is ridiculous.thank you for listening.

I have a 2006 gmc envoy and just started having a problem with the fuel gauge. When i fill the gas tank, the gas needle drops to empty, the fuel low indicator comes on and it stays on until i turn the car off, then turn it back on or it moves up some, but the light continues to remain on. I contacted gm customer service to notify them of the problem and i have a an open complaint with them.i have also contacted a local gmc dealer and they saidthat there is no recalls on this truck for a gas gauge problem. I was also told by gmcustomer service that they have no record of any of these types of complaints and will have to research it. The information that i have found is that this problem is very common with envoy's, gm has been notified of this problem but they refuse to acknowledge it and have not given owners any resolution. This is a potentially dangerous problem, an annoying issue and a costly repair for owners and there should be some type of compensation on replacing these known problems.

I own a 2006 gmc envoy. The gas gauge is reading empty even when it is full. I have researched this and found many people are having the same issue. I feel that this is a safety hazard because if i run out of gas while driving it could result in a rear end collision. Not to mention that this car is new and shouldn't have these type of issues.

Fuel gauge is faulty as it provides inaccurate and random fuel level readings while driving.

After seeing that there is a probe into the gm vehicle fuel gauge problem, i'd like to share my concern as well. We purchased a 2006 gmc envoy that had 45,000 on it in from a dealer in ohio back in march 2009. Approximately september 2009, the fuel gauge was starting to act up, going from full to empty and empty to full at different times throughout the day. Some days it was fine and other days it was acting crazy. We took our vehicle into a dealership here in lansing and was told it was more than likely a fuel sensor problem and would be about $800-$900 to replace. Well, i couldn't afford to get it repaired at the time but my serviceman from crippen gmc said that they have had quite a few problems like mine. I knew there was a problem that was more than just mine as i have 2 relatives (brother-in-law and cousin) who also own the gmc envoy yet both are different years and they have the very same problem. My brother-in-law paid to have his replaced and has since sold that vehicle and bought a newer model and it had the same issue, but the dealership noticed it before he picked it up and replaced the fuel sensor prior to him picking it up. My cousin and i however are currently using our mileage read to determine roughly how much fuel we actually have. When i asked mark, my serviceman at crippen if there was a recall on this he informed me that there was not. This has to be more widespread than reported as what are the odds of 3 relatives with the same vehicle type, but all are different model years having the same issue and if you count my brother-in-laws newer purchase, that would bringthe total vehicles to four (4) just in our family. There definately has to be a product issue within the fuel sensoring unit

2006 gmc envoy - fuel gauge shows empty regardless of how much fuel is in the tank.since i have no idea how much fuel is remaining, i have run out of gas several times, including a couple on the interstate.the problem started around october of 2008, but costs almost $700 to fix, started at 37500 miles so it was just out of warranty, and there are hundreds of postings online about this problem stating it's a defect with the fuel pump.

On my 2006 gmc envoy my gas tank was reading between 1/4 and a 1/2 tank of gas, so i stopped to fill up.once i started the car back up the low fuel light was on along with the fuel gauge being on empty. After driving a few miles the engine light came on and stayed on. Once i was able to stop and turn the car off i did and the lights both stayed on. I began driving again on the highway and all of a sudden the gas tank started to rise up to 1/2 a tank to full. Then once off the highway it went back down to empty and then started going back up and down for the rest of the drive. I've never had an issue with this vehicle before, so when this happened i was very surprised.

Problem with my gas gauge in just turned 40,000 mi. Add fuel light comes on even after fill up. Also gauge goes back and forth during operation of the car. When the gauge hits empty a bell goes off and the low fuel light goes on. Eventually the check engine light will also go on indicating there is an issue. Very concerned about breaking down and consider it a personal safety issue. Local gmc dealer has no clue there was a problem with gas gauges. Tried to ignore the problem but just got worse decided to get it fixed $900.

I'm an owner of a 2006 gmc envoy slt.unfortunately, the fuel gauge no longer functions.at first, the gauge would swing between full, empty and half full.now, it just lives at 'empty'.resetting the trip display after refilling at 220 miles is getting old and inconvenient.i don't like not knowing exactly how much gas i have - especially when i'm driving in areas where there isn't a gas station on every corner.because this seems to be a recurring problem, it should be covered by gmc.

We own a 2006 gmc enovy.about two months ago, the fuel gauge started bouncing back and forth between empty and full.it didn't matter how much fuel was actually in the vehicle.the fuel gauge has become useless.

My 2006 gmc envoy fuel level gauge has started reading empty after filling with fuel.i have been using my odometer to keep track of miles since last fill up.it has been giving sporadic readings and can not be trusted.this could cause a dangerous situation if i was to run out of gas in traffic or on some lonely road in the country at night.gm is aware of this situation but is only offering to pay 50% at their exhorbinate service rates.

Fuel gauge unreliablehad to replace.

I recently smelled gas fumes in and around the vehicle and i do an a visually inspection of the fuel system of my vehicle. I found a leak of fuel coming from the fuel tank; just from the fuel tank neck. I am really worry about it because most part of the time i am traveling with my son. Recently i do a research and found nhtsa action number pe07014 about a recall from gmc about the 2002-2004 gmc envoy and chevy trailblazer about the same problem just happen to me.

Fuel gauge problem - gmc envoy.

Filled fuel tank until pump clicked off.as soon as i started vehicle, fuel gauge dropped to below e and light, buzzer sounded alerting me low fuel.check engine light came on.preparing to leave on vacation so i drove to local mechanic who advised me of the problems with several gm suvs. He thought as long as i set my trip (so as not to run out of gas), i would be fine on trip.one year later, i still haven't gotten it fixed(hoped i could wait gm out), the problem is a bit worse in that the gauge jumps around and fuel empty buzzer goes on and off all the time .. Very annoying.gm says not a safety issue so no recall ???? why does it have to be a safety issue.check out the internet ,, there are hundreds of complaints, and we all know that there would be thousands if everyone would report the problems.why not track how many replacement parts have been sold rather than complaints.that should tell you something.i guess why recall as long as they can make money.

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy. The contact stated that when she fueled the vehicle, the fuel gauge still registered an empty tank and the fuel light was still on. She drove two miles and the vehicle registered full and then it would move back down to empty. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the fuel sensor was replaced. The fuel system functioned correctly for two years and failed again. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been notified. The vin was unavailable. The current mileage was approximately 80,000. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.

Fuel gauge is out on my vehicle.

A couple months ago my gas gauge started to act up.it was not registering the amount of gas in my fuel tank.i have already been stranded due to no gas and i just don't want it to happen at a critical time and cause and accident!i have a 2006 gmc envoy.this issue needs to be addressed and handled.

After filling up the gas tank in my 2006 gm envoy, my fuel guage showed empty.the gas guage would bounce but now stuck on empty.

When i filled up gas tank, the gas gauge was reading completely empty, the low fuel alarm was sounding and my engine light was on. The vehicle actually stalled in traffic because of this. Once i used approx 2 gallons of gas, the gauge would repeatedly go up and down. If it was stuck at empty, the vehicle was difficult to start. I researched this problem on the web and found that this is a very common problem and dangerous one. I feel there should be a recall on this

Fuel gauge malfunction.

I own a 2006 gmc envoy. I have experienced intermittent fuel gage failure. The dealership wants $600 + to fix the problem. After doing some investigation on the internet i learned that this is a common problem and gm may have a "silent recall" of this part. I believe this is a safety problem due to the possibility of running out of gas and becoming stranded in rural iowa during inclementweather. I believe that gm should recall the part.

Gas tank sensor failed october 2010 on 2006 gmc envoy slt.shows tank empty regardless of amount of gas put in tank which results in the'check engine' light coming on 99% of the time. Cost to repair is approximately $600. Mileage on car was about 60,000 miles.

My wife and i were on a trip driving on the interstate in our 2006 gmc envoy, the gas gauge read between 1/4 tank and "e" and i planned to get off at the next exit (aprox 12 miles) to refuel.while in heavy traffic and passing in the left lane, our envoy just died!with no power anything (brakes, steering, ect.) i desperately made my way to the right shoulder to try and figure out what had happened.we had run out of fuel even though the gauge read plenty to make the next exit.stranded for hours awaiting a tow, out trip was ruined.since then the fuel gauge on our envoy has not worked properly, it will read "e" for days just after we fill up then jump all over the dial never giving us the same reading each time we start the car.we have been told by the local gmc dealer this will cost us $600 to fix or live with an unreliable fuel gauge, of course what the don't tell you is this is a huge problem with gmc envoys that you will only hear about when searching the internet.

Hi, i have a problem with the gas meter on my gmc envoy 2006. It has 38,000 miles. The gas gauge shows that the gas tank is empty even though i fill it up. When i start the engine the gauge goes shows that the tank is full, after a few minutes of driving it goes all the way down to empty and i get the signal that the tank is empty. My concern is about if there is any recall on that because it only has 38,000 miles. I was also checking online and found a lot of complaints for the same problem. I believe gm should be responsible for this matter because it is a sign of a defected part. This problem started happening on january 30, 2016; my main concern is getting stuck in traffic and possibly get in an accident due to the gas gauge is misreading.thank you for taking the time to read my complaint.

I own a 2006 envoy. I have had several incidents of my vehicle shutting down while driving. Each time the road service indicated that my vehicle was out of fuel even though the fuel gauge read i had more than a sufficient amount. Even after they put fuel in my vehicle it wouldn't start without a boost. This happened twice when i was on the freeway which is very dangerous. Due to my financial situation i haven't been able to get this problem fixed.

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy. The contact stated that the fuel gauge would provide inaccurate fuel level readings and would display that the fuel tank was full when in actuality, it was empty. The contact had the vehicle repaired in 2009 for the same failure. The vin was unavailable. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 79,000.

Last year my 2006 gmc envoy lost power and the engine light came on while i was driving.i had to quickly move out of the way of traffic to avoid a car accident.gmc also took my money for repairs that should have been covered under the warranty.recently,04/17/12, i filled my gas tank up and the fuel gauge went to empty after filling. Every time i fill the tank, it goes to empty and then after driving a bit the gauge starts re-registering, 52,000 miles on the vehicle now. Now i believe these two incidents are related and gmc is not being cooperative: to fix at no cost a repair that involves hundreds of thousands of their vehicles.what if i did get into an accident with my family last year?gmc needs to step up to recall a know defect to the fuel system failures.

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy.the contact stated that the fuel gauge malfunctioned and the contact was unable to determine the exact amount of fuel in the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing and the dealer stated that the fuel gauge sensor needed to be replaced.the vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 61,000.

Fuel gauge reads empty even when tank is full. First noticed issue several months ago, after filling the tank. The gauge would begin reading correctly after driving for a while. Ran out of fuel in feb. Due to inaccurate reading. Currently gauge has been reading empty for4 weeks, even after several trips to the gas station.

I have a 2006 gmac envoy - 49,000 miles - one month ago the gas gauge started moving on it's own, i would fill up and will show full as i am driving it will go all the way to empty and then slowly move to full and then back to 1/2 tank and the empty which makes the light and bell come on. When i turn off the car and restart it will then go back to full or stay on empty. This is a safety hazard i never know if i am running low on gas and will be standard in the middle of the road or is it about to stall out which could cause a wreck.

After filling gas tank the gauge suddenly dropped to empty and check engine light would come on. Gauge goes up and down eraticaly. Contacted gmc to which they would not help me. Search on line said there was a silent recall other owners said gm took care of problem up to 70,000 miles gm told me it was not a gm web site so they cannot do anything ..search internet and hundreds are having same problem...this is unsafe so i am filing a complaint as other have done before me......this is hazardous if you run out of gas everything shuts down and can cause and accident...there need to be a recall....

I was driving down a hill at approximately 45 miles per hour, when suddenly my envoy just shut off. The vehicle did not accelerate when i pressed on the gas, so i pulled into the first side road to avoid being stuck on a main roadway and when i turned, i had a difficult time turning because the vehicle was off, actually i turned into the wrong side of the road ( thank god there was no incoming traffic). I let my envoy glide as far as it would go until i felt it was some what safe. Parked the envoy, then tried to turn it back on, the engine would turn over, but wouldnot turn on. I had the towing co. Stop at autozone to look into the lit check engine light and they came up with code p0463, failed fuel sending unit. This was a very scary situation for i could of gotten into a fatal accident!!!

The fuel gauge stated that i had 300 miles till empty.while going down the road, it went all the way down to empty.i stopped and turned it off and waited a few minutes and turned it back on.it took about 5 minutes but the mileage and gas hand went back up to where it was supposed to be.this morning i filled the tank up and now the computer is reading low fuel and the gas hand is below the red line.also the check engine light is on.

I'm a reservist in the military and it requires me to drive a distance to my base once a month. While driving to my duty location, i realized that my 2006 envoy rwd was driving funny like it was about to stall. At the time, my fuel gauge read 1/2 tank. Thankfully i was approaching an exit and was able to get off and go to a gas station. I didn't know what the problem was especially since i thought i had gas. The gas station also had an auto shop. The mechanic couldn't even find anything wrongwith my vehicle. He asked me if i was sure there was gas in it. I told him yes bc it read half a tank. We put about 5 gallons in the tank and the engine started right up. When i checked the fuel gauge again, it read it was empty. So i filled up the tank, got back in the car and started the engine but the fuel gauge still read empty even after i filled it up with gas. I was so frustrated because i had to be at drill and i had no idea what was going on. I just prayed that i made it there safely. I did..after the first day of drill was over, i started the engine and the fuel gauge read full but after driving 3 miles the check engine light appeared and the gauge went back to empty. I immediately drove to a gmc dealership where they checked the code for the engine light. The mechanic told me that the fuel sensor malfunctioned and that it was a common problem with envoys. And since i was no longer under warranty, it would cost about $800 to repair. I called gmc customer service and they refused to cover it even after i went over my entire ordeal with them. I have not paid to repair the problem because i think gm should have pride in their products and replace this issue. The check engine light goes off after driving about 30 miles but my fuel gauge always reads empty even after i fill it up with gas. I have to fill up every other day for fear that i will run out of gas again and end up on the side of the road stranded. On drill weekends, i have to rent a car bc i can't rely on envoy.

The contact stated the check engine light illuminated when the fuel gauge displayed that the fuel tank was empty; however, the vehicles fuel level was at capacity. The mechanic stated the fuel pump needed to be replaced.the failure mileage was 85,000 and the current mileage was 90,000.

2006 gmc envoy, 59000 miles and the fuel gauge has stopped working. Have found many others that have the same issue. Gm acknowledges a problem but will not fix.

I was at 1/8 of a tank of fuel, filled up and upon restarting the car, the low fuel light came on and won't go off.

We have a 2006 gmc envoy with 46,952 miles on it.one day in april 2011, with a 3/4 tank of gas, i was driving to work and the gas gauge dropped unexpectedly to empty.the bells started going off the messages came on the dash, the engine lights came on.this literally scared me to death.i thought the gas tank had ruptured and that all my gas had leaked out.i was terrified that the vehicle would come to an abrupt stop in the middle of the street.i made it to work and immediately looked under the vehicle to see if anything was leaking.there was nothing.i went into work and worried all day about how i was going to get to a gas station.when it was time for me to go home, i started the envoy and the gas gauge read back to the 3/4 full tank.i started on my way home and all of a sudden the gauge dropped again.ever since that day, every time we start the envoy, the gauge will not read past "empty" and the warning bells/messages come on all the time.sometimes, several times while i'm just driving to work.it came to the point where we do not drive the vehicle much anymore.with winter coming, i have to get this problem fixed as i need a dependable source of transportation.we have been told the problem is a fuel sensor in the gas tank.whatever it is, we feel that gm should fix the problem for us and very soon.would someone please respond as i am very unnerved about this whole situation.thank you

2006 gmc envoy.fuel gauge stopped working after about 3 or 4 years.reads empty even when the tank is full, just like the hundreds of other envoy owners having the same problem.

After filling the gas tank the fuel system gauge would go to full the go all the way to empty, 1/2 fullthen back full and repeat same action.what if i was to run out of gas, and get hit behind? 8tr

Gas hand reads empty and does not move from empty when tank is full of gas.

Fuel gauge not recording properly.fluctuates from empty to full.

I read in the newspaper that the nhtsa had opened an investigation concerning 2006 gmc envoy gas gauge problems.i have the same problem as many others with the gauge fluctuating.this should be considered a safety issue since it could cause someone to be stranded.i have 53000 miles on my envoy and this problem started about a month ago.

My fuel gauge is now always on empty stalled right at the gas stationmy blower for heating and air only works on 3 of 5 levels.

The fuel gauge reads empty after fill ups.

First, gas gauge started miss reading, then a month or 2 later it has been stuck on e with low indicator light on ever since.second, last week my daughter stopped the vehicle, put the gear selector in park, car kept moving, dash indicator was still indicating drive and kept moving.good thing she didn't get out of the car.i saw a big recall for gm multiple years but not my model for bad shifter cable and that is what broke.that could have been a very serious incident and could have caused someone to get seriously injured.

The fuel sensor on our 2006 gmc envoy failed in september 2010.the low fuel light never goes off even when the vehicle has just been filled up the check engine light will come on.we must use our trip to keep track of mileage to let us know when it is time to fill up.this is a safety concern as you never know exactly how much gas is in the tank and because the gas mileage on this vehicle fluctuates from 15mpg-18mpg.when the check engine light comes on we are not sure if it is because of the fuel sensor or because of another problem. It seems that many gmc envoys have this same problem and recently we read an article stating that gmc is looking into this problem.we wanted to make sure that our problems are reported as well.

2006 gmc envoy; replaced timing chain, failure of fuel pump, oil pump, electrical system driver's side door, washer fluid pump, tailgate latch failure and rear wash fluid line failure. Replaced or fixed all issues except, tailgate latch, rear washer fluid line, oil pump issue and suv will not hold oil pressure.

My 2006 envoy's fuel sensor guage abruptly quit working by originally, randomly indicating improper tank volume.at this point in time, the fuel guage is permanently stuck on empty and my fuel light stays on and the onboard computer constantly chimes and advises my fuel level is low.i just received a letter from gm stating they are aware of the problem and that provided my vehicle is displaying the signs of the problem (it is) i could take it to an authorized dealer for repairs and i would only be responsible for 50% of the repair bill.i find this absured!why should i pay to fix a known problem?why isn't this a full recall?i feel gm should pay for the entire bill to replace the fuel sensor and am requesting assistance.

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy. The contact stated that the fuel gauge was providing inaccurate fuel level readings and would display that the fuel tank was empty when it was not. The failure was intermittent but progressively occurred more frequently. The vehicle was not inspected or repaired for the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The current mileage was approximately 72,000 and the failure mileage was approximately 71,000.

Fuel level sensor (2006 gmc envoy xlt)it was floating back and forth at first then it rests on "e" and the light stays on and the alarm keeps ringing that my fuel level is low.it has left me stranded more than once.i have contacted gm and was told that they have had several vehicles come in with the same problem. Now it doesn't float at all it just stays on "e" and the light and bells are on.

A few months after i purchased my 2006 gmc envoy, my gas gauge started to act crazy.i took it into a repair shop and they told me it was going to cost around $800 to fix because they had to drop the tank.since my car was out of warranty i could not afford to fix it.after some internet searching i noticed that hundreds of people have had the same issue with their gm product.now my check engine light keeps turning on and i can't pass my emissions inspection to renew my plates until it is fixed.i have been keeping track of my gas via tracking my mileage, but have run out on a busy street.it is very expensive to fix and unsafe to keep in the condition it is in.

Vehicle fuel gauge shows empty after filling fuel tank.after driving 30-50 miles, fuel gage appears normal.this started about 30 days ago.more recently, however, fuel gauge is inconsistent even after the 30+ miles.some times it shows full, one half.i must refuel vehicle more often to be sure there is fuel in the tank.

Fuel gauge is inaccurate.reads completely empty then moves up and down while driving around town.i never know how much gas i really have in it.

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy. While driving approximately 65 mph, the contact noticed that the fuel gauge displayed an inaccurate fuel level reading. The vehicle then suddenly stalled due to the lack of fuel present in the fuel tank. The roadside assistance dispensed the required fuel into the fuel tank and the vehicle resumed as normal. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, who stated that the fuel tank sensor was faulty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. There was an open investigation under nhtsa action number dp10001 which closed and a preliminary evaluation had been opened. The approximate failure was 81,000.

Gm envoy 2006 fuel level gauge has been failing on thousands of cars for years and i am having the same issue. The envoy and trailblazers gauge drops to empty, then bounce between fuel and empty then is stays on e until the repair is made. This has caused my wife to run out of gas in the middle of a busy highway and almost causing a major accident. Gm dealerships says they have been aware of the problem for years and there is no recall and owners must pay gm $800 to repair this known issue that i find have been going on since 2005.gm refuses to recall the fuel sensor and says they will only repair if under warranty for free. The labor is $670 part bring the repair to $800+. If this issue is searched online you will find thousands of complaints and the fear of this causing a major accident if it has not already occured. This major issue needs to be recalled and corrected at gm's expense .

Beginning in 2009 my 2006 gmc envoy began having problems with the fuel tank sensor. It would show empty when in fact it was full. Now the problem is continuous. I must use to odometer to guess when i need to refuel the vehicle. I do not know when i may run out of gas. If this happens in a high traffic area if would definitely cause a safety hazard to myself and to other drivers.

Fuel gauge began reading inaccurately then stopped working entirely.

Gas gauge stuck on empty after 65,000 miles on 2006 gmc envoy. Check engine light also comes on erratically.

It seems that my vehicles fuel sending unit is defective after only 47,000 miles and through further investigation i found there are many other owners of this line of vehicles that are experiencing this identical problem.i have been told that it will cost over 800.00 to repair this with no guarantee that it won't happen again.i think this problem should be recalled as most owners of this vehicle are quite upset that they have to pay out of pocket for this defective part to be replaced.

I have a 2006 gmc envoy which has a faulty gas gauge.when i fill up my gas tank, the gas gauge shows the tank as being "empty" with the orange light on indicating an empty tank.as some fuel burns off the top (after approximately 20-25 miles), the gas gauge then moves to the "full' end of the gauge.while driving, the gas gauge continuously shows that it has more fuelin the tank than it actually does. Because i was concerned that the gas gauge was inaccurate and would result in running out of gas, i started resetting my odometer and tracking mileage after each fill up. Based on the mileage tracked thus far, i estimate the gas gauge to show that it has approximately 1/4 ' 1/3 more gas than what is in the tank.

Fuel gauge is erratic causing the driver not to know when the level may be dangerously low and leave him/her stranded.gauge will register "empty" when the tank is full. The 'check engine" light sometimes comes onafter 50-100 miles the gauge will register "full".it may or may not begin to read some level after that. The check engine light will go off.this is the second gmc vehicle i have owned to have this problem.

I own a 2006 gmc envoy, in 2007 the fuel sensor stopped working at approximately 20k miles, so i couldn't tell how much gas i had, when full it registers as empty, it was supposedly fixed and then the fuel line came apart while i was driving.now i am once again having the same issue with the fuel sensor, the vehicle now has 80k miles.i have contacted gm, but they are of no help.upon checking the message boards there are thousands of envoys & trailblazers with the same issue.

The fuel gauge does not read correctly. This has caused the vehicle to run out of gas several times now in the middle of traffic due to the gauge telling me i had more fuel than i actually had.

The contacts owns a 2006 gmc envoy.the contact stated that the fuel gage indicated inaccurate levels on the instrument panel.the dealer and manufacturer were contacted but the vehicle was not repaired.the failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage is 71,223. Gas light stays on constantly even after filling car up. Daughter was put in danger because when first started couldnt tell how much fuel was in tank and ran out of gas while driving from work on busy city street.

Fuel gauge doesn't work.

Investigation # dp10001: the petitioner alleges that the fuel tank level sensor is defective and could result in a subject vehicle running out of fuel, stall, and being rear ended by another vehicle. Odi will evaluate the petition for a grant or deny decision. Gm will fix till 2016 my 2006 envoy has only 75,000 miles on it

Filled fuel tank, gauge read full, as i was driving the gauge went to empty within 2 minutes. The gauge will sometimes read half, but as soon as i start driving it goes to empty.

2006 envoy gas gauge stopped working and my wife ran out of gas on a busy freeway in houston.the steering locked up and she could not turn off the freeway.she was sitting in traffic at rush hour. ## vin failed ##

Fuel gauge made several jumps back and forth after fueling and pulling away from the pump. Gauge worked intermittently for a couple of weeks then failed completely. Check engine light stays on now in addition to fuel gauge reading of e even after fueling the vehicle. Has been like this for more than a year now and about once every 6 months it springs back to life for a moment then back to e.

Envoy lost power while driving 55 miles an hour down the road. Because i didn't realize it was out of gas i had it towed to a shop thinking there was an engine issue.shop discovered that it was just out of gas and that my fuel sensor is bad and quoted me $1500 to fix. The gas gauge is never accurate and i have ran out of gas multiple times with two small children in the car.after seeing all the complaints of other people who have the same issue i called gmc and they said that they will only fix for free if it has less than 100,000 miles on it. I only had 108,000 on it when the issue started.how fair is that?

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy. The contact stated that the fuel gauge intermittently failed. The contact also mentioned that strong fuel fumes emitted from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic who diagnosed that thefuel lever sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 135,000.

Fuel gauge has stopped working properly, reads different levels while driving, says there's no fuel and we just put fuel in the tank.

Ignition switch failure at speed causing loss of power to fuel pump which ultimately meant loss of power to vehicle at freeway speeds.was told by gm that there is no recall on this particular ignition switch at this time.

The fuel tank level sensor is defective and could result in the vehicle running out of fuel, stall, and being rear ended by another vehicle. When doing a google internet search for "2006 gmc envoy fuel sensor", i found that this is a very common problem with this vehicle. Called gmc call center at 800-462-8782. They have recognized it as a problem, and are paying for half of the repair cost (10 years or 120,000 miles). Repairs must be performed at a gm dealership. Nhtsa has had other reports of this same issue with the gmc envoy.

My fuel gauge stopped working over a year ago and i do not have the funds to repair it. The engine repair light is continuously lit and i have run out of gas on a major interstate. This as a major safety issue for a woman in today's society( kidnapping, rape, runover by another vehicle) i have learned to fill up every 3 days regardless of miles driven. I was driving on the interstate 3 days ago and the car just dies, with a full gas tank, 103 degree temperature and 2 children in the car. Try crossing major interstate traffic @ 80 miles an hour with 2 children, if this is not a safety issue i don't know what is. We had to tow the car and took it to a mechanic and he said the problem with the fuel gauge is located in the same mechanism as the fuel pump and caused the fuel pump to become so corroded that it stopped working. The need exists for an immediate safety recall, before there is a death or serious injury due to a mechanical default that has affected thousands of gmc envoys and gmc refuses to stand behind their products because it is not a safety issue. It is a safety issue......

My 2006 gmc envoy xl gas gauge reads empty after filling, then slowly moves up after driving but will continue to lose pressure until it reads empty and the light is on. Sometimes it will just remain on the e an the light will be on when i have gas in my vehicle.

The vehicle shows that the fuel tank is on empty shortly after being filled up. Also the engine will die at randoms times driving down the road. Also the head lamps fail at random times.

Fuel gauge stays on empty even when the tank is filled. Check engine light comes on occasionally. I found countless others with the same problem on other sites. Http://www.fixya.com/cars/t1004109-2006_gmc_envoy_xl_gas_gauge_reads_emptyhttp://www.automotivehelper.com/topic893628.htmhttp://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.f1f29e4/138#139 of 151 gmc envoy 2006 gas gauge by edmunds42apr 26, 2012 (9:47 am)i had 2006 gmc envoy which is giving inaccurate gas level readings. This is known problem with gm suvs from 2005 -2007. The nhtsa has gotten 668 complaints. Gm agrees to pay 1/2 the fee to fix it. My half was $194. The dealer stated they will not paid 100% because it is not a safety issue. I told them -"try running out of gas on the entry ramp to the george washington bridge and see how safe it is". Gm should recall these vehicles and fix them .

Stability control light constantly come on for repair, second repair on fuel system, diagnostic shows problem in steering and right wheel.

Fuel gauge has stopped working properly. When tank is filled, the gauge reads empty and fuel light is on. When the fuel level begins to decrease below the full level from driving the vehicle, the gauge fluctuates between the completely full mark and the empty mark. This fluctuation can occur during a trip that is less than a few miles.

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy. The contact stated that while traveling various speeds, the vehicle stalled. The contact mentioned that the fuel gauge indicated that a quarter tank of fuel remained. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 138,775 and the current mileage was 138,963.

Voss chevrolet, dayton, ohio, returned my envoy to me on september 2, 2015 without repair of a dangerousmalfunction threatening serious injury to me or others.it is a sudden unintended accelerationoccurring over seven times sporadically from july thru august 2015 as i have slowed toa stop at a traffic intersection andalso whenpullinghead -in to parking spaces.it can only be stopped by abruptly switching from drive gear to park or neutral. I have driven this vehicle for just over 5 years of a 12- year periodwhilealso drivingmy non-general motors vehicle.as well, i have driven a newly purchased vehicle since april 2014. I have ownedmany vehicles over the past 51 years.i bought the 2006 envoy from voss chevroletas a certified vehicle,32,000 miles, in april 2010.vosselectronic monitoringconfirmed the fact that the high speed acceleration actually occurred while braking, but they stated when theirservice person kept and drove the vehicle it did not occur.gm (tac)advised them unintended acceleration was "impossible and the onlyanswer" isthati must beusing two- feet, holding the brake and accelerator down simultaneously. (the vosselectronic camera monitorthey had given mehad shown an acceleration equivalent to ""80 miles per hour while braking occurred!that is also documented.)(despite never a need to use two feet, in this suv the left foot always rests some distance away on a foot-rest near the driver's door). I do not falsify matters.my background is one of integrity and reaching factually supported and logical conclusions arising fromprofessionaldemands of a 41-year career as an attorney recently retired as afederal judge.

Filled the gas tank with gas and it moved up and down for a few hours then went down to empty where it has been since then regardless of how much gas is in the tank. It has cause the engine light to come on and not go off.

My fuel gauge keeps fluctuating. Even when i have a full tank of gas, the gauge fluctuates, and goes to empty and the low fuel light comes on. This happens when i am parked, stopped at a light, and going down the road. It doesn't matter what speed i'm going, the gauge goes to empty and the light comes on. It happens when i have a full tank, half tank, quarter tank. Please help!

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy. The contact stated while driving 40 mph the fuel gauge began to show empty even though the vehicle had fuel. The vehicle was diagnosed by an independent mechanic and the fuel sensor gauge was replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 112,900 and the current mileage was 112,980.

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy. The contact stated that while refueling, the fuel gauge would display an inaccurate reading. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The dealer stated that they needed to replace the fuel gauge senor. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 65,000 and the current mileage was 84,000.

The vehicle fuel gauge goes from full to empty. It then starts to cause the car to stall when it goes to empty nearly causing another car to hit you.

The fuel gauge will not register the correct amount of fuel in the tank.i filled up the tank and the fuel indicator went to f than immediately went to e.i now must use my trip indicator so that i know when to fill my tank.i never get a correct reading, it is constantly on e!!

The fuel gage fluctuates from full to empty. You never know when your getting low on gas.

Gas gauge malfunctions after filling vehicle due to repeated, documented manufacturers defect in gas tank fuel sensor, possibly leading to a complete failure of indication system.

Hi ! as many other gmc envoy costumerstock at the earlier 50-100 thousand milles with engine problem caused by misfire cylinder .

Smells bad.

Radiator and transmission went while driving on a highway. My mechanic told me the part that failed never fails and he was shocked that it did.

Leaving a restaurant i was unable to place my car in reverse or for that matter any gears. The tow truck driver showed me a little plastic peace that broke and advised me it was the shift linkage. I reviewed the information and was amazed to find that it is very common for this little plastic piece to break in the chevrolet and gmc vehicles. I do not understand why the shift linkage is not one of many recalls with gmc as it is very dangerous when you are unable to place your car in park, reverse, neutral or any gears. I am a very dissatisfied customer and would like for gmc to held accountable for the problem. I should not have to pay a hefty fee for a cheap plastic part that can cause a major accident, injury and or death.

Leaking transmission fluid;vehicle stalls while driving; andleaks from inside windows onto electrical power switches and floor boars on both driver''s side and passenger side doors.

Accident on 4/25/14 after my 2006 gmc envoy shut off completely while i was making an left hand turn. I informed gmc of it but got no response. The vehicle has been doing this for the past 6 months. I have contacted gmc since the accident and still have gotten no response.

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy. While accelerating from an intersection, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The contact managed to veer to the shoulder of the road. When the vehicle was turned off and restarted, it failed to resume normal operation. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 131,000.

Lost 2nd and 4th gears yesterday. Only 56,000 miles on my 2006 envoy and should not have to replace my transmission yet. Not happy!!!!

The dealer representative inspected the vehicle on 07/20/06 and determined that the clutch fan that cools the engine created the noise but could not determine the cause for the acceleration problem.the manufacturer was alerted on numerous occasions who finally identified that it is normal for the vehicle's acceleration to perform in the documented manner.updated 08/15/06. 8jb

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy. While driving 50 mph, the abs warning indicator illuminated, the contact depressed the brake pedal and heard an abnormal grinding sound coming from the front driver's side wheel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the abs needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 125,710.

I was traveling over a bridge on ramp from one interstate frwy to another .got to curve on bridge and had to abruptly put the brakes on i felt a snap in brake pedal then no brakes as i got off the curve and released brake the brakes are fine but now i get a bad shaking in front when speeds of 65 and over like the tires are wobbling .i bought the vehicle used and the first day engine blew .they say it was a rebuild i feel so ripped off .also the tire warming lights are and sometimes off .please help me.

I was traveling north on the fl tpke. In my 2006 gmc envoy on 11/8/11 just south of orlando at 9:30 pm when the car in front of me jammed on the breaks because the car in front of him was driving unsafely. When i jammed on my brakes the abs did not function and the brakes locked up. I was swerving violently from side to side across the two lane highway until i finally got the vehicle under control with much physical effort. I thought i was a dead man but i survived. Thank god there were no other cars around me or there would have been a terrible accident at 70 mph which is the speed limit. Luckily i was able to avoid striking the other two vehicles in the road. There was tire smoke everywhere. This is a serious problem and now i am afraid to drive my vehicle at highway speeds. Gmc needs to be notified and something needs to be done about this.

Cpsc#i11b0246a. 2006 gmc envoy. Consumer stated that in trying to avoid a collision what happen was the failure of his abs system caused the brakes to lock up throwing the vehicle out of control. *lnthe consumer stated he swerved violently to the left, and he instinctively steered to the right, and the vehicle went to the left and then to the right again. The consumer was able to get the vehicle under control. He was surrounded by smoke that smelled like burning rubber.the consumer took the vehicle to the dealer. However, they were unable to find a problem.

Leaking transmission fluid;vehicle stalls while driving; andleaks from inside windows onto electrical power switches and floor boars on both driver''s side and passenger side doors.

While driving at highway speeds. I tried merging on to a different lane to take my exit and i realized that the steering on my vehicle was very stiff. As soon as i got off the highway i tried turning on to a side street and found that steering the vehicle was nearly impossible. My car has been in park for the past few days since i am unable to drive it. I waited on taking it to a mechanic because a friend of mine said there may have been a recall on the power steering hose on this vehicle.

Stability control light constantly come on for repair, second repair on fuel system, diagnostic shows problem in steering and right wheel.

Power steering high pressure pneumatic pipe rusted through at clamp. All the power steering fluid leaked out into the front driver side wheel well. Steering pump made a super loud noise.

Power steering went out while driving. Pulled off the road and saw underneath vehicle was leaking fluid. Checked power steering fluid, was low so added more and babied vehicle home. After some investigating underneath vehicle, found a crack in a line that goes to the rack and pinion. Replaced the line for $200. Began to drive vehicle again, vehicle was acting normally. Then, 3 weeks later same exact thing happened. Was driving, power steering went out, pulled off the road and fluid was leaking from the exact same spot.

Accident on 4/25/14 after my 2006 gmc envoy shut off completely while i was making an left hand turn. I informed gmc of it but got no response. The vehicle has been doing this for the past 6 months. I have contacted gmc since the accident and still have gotten no response.

Envoy gmc 2006 power steering becomes difficult at low speeds. Must use two hands to turn wheel. Power steering fluid not the problem.engine light inadvertently comes

Difficulty steering when making aleft or fight tight turn.

As i was opening the rear door the rear window completely exploded all over.

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy. The contact stated that while driving at 55 mph, the contact heard an abnormal noise coming from the engine compartment of the vehicle. In addition, the contact noticed corrosion on the front passenger's side of the vehicle.the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced and that the sub frame needed to be welded. The engine was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 72,000.

My 2006 envoy back hatch keeps clicking when raised also have to open passenger back door beforehatch opens.

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy. While driving approximately 10 mph in the snow, the contact skidded across a block of ice and crashed the vehicle into a curb. The vehicle spun around before stopping. The air bags did not deploy. The contact sustained an injury that did not require medical attention. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was not damaged; however, an unusual sound was heard. Prior to the crash, the rear axle dropped very low and caused the vehicle to ride bumpy. Whenever a bump was struck, while driving at any speed, the contact's head struck the roof, causing neck and back pain. The contact called lkl motors at 253-466-7222 (located at 6204 112th st e, puyallup, wa 98373), which was where the vehicle was purchased. The dealer stated that the vehicle was normal. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 167,000.

Air in auto levelingbleeds off at night leaving extremely low clearance in rear suspension.some compressor running during driving, and assuming some leaking during vehicle operation.rear air bags replaced, same problems exist.

The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy. While driving 35 mph, the traction control malfunctioned. The contact did not take the vehicle to the dealer because it was a long distance away from the contact's residence. The manufacturer was notified of the traction control failure and advised the contact that there were no recalls relating to the failure. The failure mileage was 147,000.

Fuel gauge system stopped working creating a dangerous situation since you dont know when you can run out of gas particularly on a major highway.

I was involved in a head on collision, where a car came around a bus into my lane .it was a clear cut case of who was at fault.my concern is that my air bag never deployed. There is a driver and passenger airbagin that model. If not for my seat belt , i would have gone through the windshield and thevehicle was totaled from the force.there are pictures i could forward of the accident.i wanted to know if there was any thing else i could do to address this issue.thank you

Envoy gmc 2006 power steering becomes difficult at low speeds. Must use two hands to turn wheel. Power steering fluid not the problem.engine light inadvertently comes

Opened lift gate while reaching into back the lift gate failed and fell down on shoulders and back

The horn failed to work twice during the warranty period and was repaired by the dealer both times. The horn failed to work again shortly after it was out of warranty.local dealer says there is no service bulletin on it being a known defect.the horn does work with the key fob.problem is in the horn button in center of steering wheel.sounds like a safety defect to me.i rarely use, maybe that's the problem.

2006 gmc envoy; replaced timing chain, failure of fuel pump, oil pump, electrical system driver's side door, washer fluid pump, tailgate latch failure and rear wash fluid line failure. Replaced or fixed all issues except, tailgate latch, rear washer fluid line, oil pump issue and suv will not hold oil pressure.

The dealer representative inspected the vehicle on 07/20/06 and determined that the clutch fan that cools the engine created the noise but could not determine the cause for the acceleration problem.the manufacturer was alerted on numerous occasions who finally identified that it is normal for the vehicle's acceleration to perform in the documented manner.updated 08/15/06. 8jb

Front windshield washer nozzle failure, both (left and right).1st event noted in 2009 when vehicle had 32000 miles, this is the 2nd event.nozzles stop spraying washing fluid effectively, preventing driver from cleaning the front windshield in high debris conditions, reducing visibility and posing a driving hazard specially in high debris / insect areas in non-optimal lighting conditions such as nighttime driving or when the vehicle is aligned towards the sun or other light source.previous event required replacement of the nozzles, it is not caused by obstruction as plenty of fluid still flows out of the nozzle (just not in the necessary pattern).

Beginning on 08-20-2011 my 2006 envoy began turning on and off its wipers and spraying windshield washing fluid everywhere. It now does this regularly everyday it is driven. Makes it hard to see at times.i have not taken it to a garage yet, was looking to see if there was a recall as i'm sure this will not be cheap to fix :(
