We own a 2006 gmc envoy denali xl we notice that the vehicle's rear suspension air ride air bags were deflating.know it got worst ,they deflate while driving, once they deflate completely while driving it makes it very dangerous to drive because all the weight sits on the back of the vehicle, whitch makes the front very light and the vehicle trends to glyed side to side .just last nite comming back from dinner the bags deflated while driving at 65 mph almost lost control of the vehicle because it stated glyding side to side.is anybody out there with same vehicle and similar issue?
My wife was involved in an accident last night in which the vehicle, a 2006 gmc envoy denali was totaled, but neither air bad deployed.
When weather turned cold the vehicle would stall and shut off for no reason. In addition to gas gauge stopped working.
While driving, in pitch black darkness on 6/10/2016 around 1:00 am, my headlights suddenly went off. The only way i could obtain lights was using the high beams. Low beams do not work and high beam only works in manual on/off mode. We checked the lamps and fuses. All are in excellent condition. I have no lights while driving or in park.the side view mirrors move on there own and at any time, while driving , in park and when the car is not running. This has been going on since the door panel recall was repaired. The dealer has informed me that there is no recall on that either.last year (2015) i had to replace the airbags (suspension) on both rear wheels. The car would drop down lower than any mid size car. Once started the bags would inflate but the car may drop at any give time while driving. Gm did not cover this cost and the dealer wanted over $1200.00 to repair.prior to that the gas gauge quit working. Which gm did cover the repair cost but i never received a recall. I just happened to be at the dealer for the driver door recall and mentioned it.
The vehicle will abruptly go from 70 mph to 30's (semi-trailer closing in fast) and i can't do a thing about it!! service stabilitrack has been a thorn while under warranty and persists to be a problem now that it is out of warranty! from early on, <10,000 miles and over 10 times since, this vehicle had been in to two different dealers and the problem, though intermittent, still exists and is a huge danger to me and my kids but i can't just go buy another car or trade this in like some people (including the car dealership managers) portray is the best option when i should be able to get gm to fix the car or replace it when they can't seem to figure out why the problem persists. But that hasn't been the only problem: gear band broke twice on the transmission, had to have transmission rebuilt because of faulty radiator, and other issues however none of the problems remotely compare to having taken it in for service because of the repeated unexplained de-acceleration and loss of ability to make the car do anything except pull to the side of the road and give it ten minutes to stop having a "tantrum" of sorts while traffic whizzes by and thankfully didn't hit us (yet). Exterior / aesthetics, i love this vehicle but poor function and even worse service of problems. I've reported it to corporate but they don't care and despite it having had been into the dealership numerous times prior to end of warranty, now they just want me to start paying them for all these fixes that haven't fixed anything. Once i started paying for fixes and then started complaining that they aren't covering what they've never fixed; the manager had the nerve to say he'd pay for it out of his own pocket if he knew it would fix it ... Fuel gauge goes to empty when full stopped in traffic on i75 with grand babies they say its the fuel sensor and sending units are bad.
Vehicle goes into reduced engine power mode unexpectedly while driving with no prior warning.mil light turns on, reduced engine power light turns on, stabilitrak off dic message displays, results in loss of acceleration and requires the driver to immediately take emergency safety actions.codes include p2135, p0121, and p060e.issue is intermittent, appears more frequently in cold or wet conditions.the issue has occurred more than 10 times since the initial incident.dealer unable to correct the issue by throttle body cleaning and pcm replacement.latest attempt is to replace the throttle body.
The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy denali. While driving approximately 60 mph, the electronic stability control and traction control warning indicators began to illuminate. Immediately there was a substantial reduction in the speed rate. The failure occurred repeatedly whenever the vehicle was in operation. On two separate occasions the engine stalled without prior warning and restarted after waiting a few moments. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer seven different times. The ecm was reprogrammed and there were no additional repairs performed on the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the constant malfunction. The approximate failure mileage was 67,000.

Takata recall i have had to make many repairs on this vehicle. However, now the lifters in the engine collapsed. The vehicle only has about 87,000 miles on it. This is unacceptable. There have been many complaints about this vehicle and the lifters collapsing. We are a one income family and the repairs to this vehicle are astronomical. Well over 3500.00 dollars. Very disappointed in this vehicle that is suppose to be american made!!!!!!! then you want to know why people are buying more foreign made cars. They seem to be more reliable than the gm products.

Last night i noticed at a stop light that i did not have low beam headlights on.very disconcerting.after i made my turn to exit the busy street, the headlights did come back on.after researching the issue, it is a known issue with gm.in fact, many cars were selectively recalled on this issue.mine was not.granted, my car is 11 years old with 157,000 miles, i still believe gm at some point should have warned me of this serious and dangerous issue.it appears i can easily fix it myself with a $27 "module" from autozone.no issues on the repair and part.i just think highly irresponsible of gm to not notify me of the potential issue. Shame on gm.
Low beam headlights and daylight driving lights shut down after a few minutes.lights will come on after engine cools down but not before.cannot drive after dark.high beams continue to operate.
My fuel level sensor is failing to tell me the true amount of fuel left in the tank. I often says that the tank is empty but many times it changes from 3/4 full to 1/2 full and sometimes back up to full then empty. I replaced the fuel level sensor and is now working. I do have the old sensor available. 2006 envoy denali xl.
Ran out of gas with the fuel gauge reading half full (vehicle had approx 50k mileage). After putting a couple of gallons in the tank went to the gas station and filled the tank. When the vehicle was started the gauge bounced to full and then to empty. It began bouncing up and down continuously, sometimes settling at half full or at empty. It continues to do this today (9/16/13) but mostly stays on empty with the fuel gauge light on all the time regardless of how much gas is in the tank. We now use the trip odometer to gauge the distance we travel so we know when to refuel. We were told by our dealer that it was the fuel sensor and would cost around $600-$700 to repair.
2006 envoy denali check engine light came on fuel gauge stopped working properly. Dealer says it is the sending unit. If this is common shouldn't there be a recall.
After filling gas tank, fuel gauge did not operate properly, going from empty to full repeatedly.check engine light came on also.
About 4 months ago, at around 42,000 miles, after filling up the fuel tank, the fuel gauge started fluctuating from full to empty.for a few months this would only happen when the fuel tank was abovefull, but lately the fuel gauge will drop to empty for longer periods of time and at any fuel tank level not just when it is full. This makes it real hard to know how much gas is left in the tank and would make it possible to run out of gas.
With no advance warning, the fuel gauge started reading empty immediately when tank was filled. Possibly related or not, the flap in the fuel filler neck disappeared about the same time the problem started. Once the problem began, the fuel light would come on when the car was started and would stay on constantly.the check engine light is always on as well. As fuel level decreased sometimes the gauge would apparently read correctly (e.g. Below 3/4 tank). Stopping or starting sometimes caused the gauge to fluctuate; often the gauge goes up and down several times a minute.over the last eight months the condition has worsened and the gauge often reads empty, with occasional swings up to approximately correct level (estimate based on miles driven since filling tank). However, the gauge never went below 1/8 tank, even though it was less than two gallons from empty in a 24-gallon tank.
Gmc envoy denali xl 2006 fuel gauge issue.1st incident - fuel gauge showed 1/4 tank gas available while traveling in i-70 il when vehicle ran out of gas while traveling at 65mph passing semi truck. Other vehicles behind me had to react to immediate slow down of our vehicle. Managed to successful pull over to verge of road without incident.not realizing fuel gauge was faulty a week later similar situation occurred - ran out of gas as i was pulling up to an intersection - lights had just turned red and i was unable to apply enough pressure to brakes as we were heading downhill that i went through red light and 2 cars had to take evasive action to avoid crashing in to me. 2 young children in car at the time of incident.realizing there was an issue - entire fuel pump system was replaced - total cost over $800.
In february i was driving home with my 5 year old daughter on the thruway, when suddenly the car stopped working. I luckily pulled over to the shoulder but had to wait there in the dark, terrified that we would be hit from behind, as it was dark. Imagine my surprise when i found out the car was simply out of gas! the gas gauge did not read empty but that was the problem!! since that time i have run out of gas several more occasions, once with 5 children in the car at night. Gmc is not issuing a recall and it needs to be done now!! this is a safety issue not only for the driver of these vehicles with the faulty sensor, but other drivers on the road also. Something needs to be done.
I am the owner of the gmc envoy denali, 2006 model vehicle.the gas tank sensor after a fillup began to malfunction.specifically, the tank was filled, however, the gas tank fill indicator remained on empty.the failure of the sensor has caused the "check engine" light to come on and remain on.
The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy denali xl.the contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated.the fuel gauge also fluctuated between empty and full andwould not provide an accurate reading.the dealer was informed of the fialure and the contact was awaiting a service appointment.the manufacturer was not aware of the failure.the current mileage was approximately 56,000 and the approximate failure mileage was 55,000.
The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy denali. The contact stated that in october 2009, he noticed that the fuel gauge would "flutter" and register that it was empty when he added gasoline to the fuel tank. After consuming five to seven gallons of fuel, the fuel gauge would begin working normal until the it was time to add the maximum amount of fuel in the tank. The check engine light also illuminated and the heater would blow cold air on the driver side and hot air on the passenger side. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the sending unit in the fuel tank was replaced and the heater was reprogrammed; however, the heater still did not function properly. The vin was unavailable. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000. The current mileage was approximately 46,000.
While driving, check engine light came on. Fuel tank gauge started to continually shift from whatever state the fuel tank was in to empty then after some time revert back to normal fuel capacity at the time. Contacted onstar for a diagnostic and they stated there is a problem with the fuel sending unit.

2006 gmc envoy denali xl- fuel gauge is broken.goes from empty to full often.i've seen severalother complaints about this and the dealership is saying this is a common problem...where is the recall????
Gas gauge goes from empty to full repeatedly, regardless of fuel level. Very common on all gm suv's manufactured in 2006. Leads to vehicles running out of gas when drivers believe they have a half or quarter tank of gas, etc...
Gas gauge fluctuates making it impossible to know the amount of gas left in vehicle.vehicle has run out of gas on highway several times.gas sensor is faulty according to dealer.
The gas gauge has completely stopped working. It consistently shows as empty even when tank is full.
The initial time (3/14) it occurred, i was out of town with my family, embarrassed to say the least. However, mainly uncomfortable, tired, and frustrated because my 87 years old dad was stranded for hours as well as my 66 years old sister who is recovering from cancer. This problem was a serious problem because of our location. We had gone to get dinner and ice cream after getting ice cream we back in the vehicle for it would not start. I called 911 no police ever showed nor would even stop to assist. After 2 1/2 hours, we contacted a church member to find out about a mechanic in the area that could possibly come check it out. Another church member came to check it first, by now 3 hours have lapsed and the vehicle starts. After this it has happened on three (3) separate occasions with me (3/19, 3/20, & 3/21) but my mechanic said it happened with him 3 or 4 times while he was driving it to check it out and while it was sitting just running not being driven. I was on the interstate once, once driving, and once parked and it would not start. The times i was by myself once was on the interstate, another was going through an intersection, and once was in a high crime area where i felt very unsafe for my vehicle and myself. My mechanic replaced the crankshaft and camshaft sensors and the problem persists. I had a diagnostic test performed but was told the items listed on the test 'may' be the problem. I have also had a problem with it accelerating while driving as if the gas is not distributing properly. It was as if it was choking up as if there was a clog. A dangerous place to be in traffic or going across a railroad track, which it has occurred several times with me. I actually was almost rear ended on the interstate.
Fuel gauge goes to empty when full stopped in traffic on i75 with grand babies they say its the fuel sensor and sending units are bad.
I am writing in regard to a full sized family vehicle that i leased in 2006.i leased a 3 row 2006 envoy denali xl by gm.i already had a 14 year old son and did not think i was able to have more children.however, i happily discovered that my husband and i were expecting in march of 2007.the issue with my vehicle is that it does not have the latch system available in the center of the second row, which is where i believe the carseat is safest.ironically, my husband has a 2000 gmc extended cab which has the latch system in all three seats of the 1/2 second row.i have contacted the dealership, gm directly, etc.no one has a solution to this issue.my argument is that if in a cash with the current vehicle specs, the side airbags could deploy, thus harming my daughter in the side position.however, i believe this lack of the latch system in the center is an obvious defect that should be corrected.i would appreciate any support you could provide.

This morning, my wife was parking at one of our kid's schools when the transmission system failed to respond.she attempted to put the vehicle in park, but it would not initially.once the shifter would move forward, the vehicle died, and continued to roll forward even though the shifter was positioned as if in park.she had the presence of mind to let it roll until striking the parking spot cement bumper.she removed the key from the ignition, then attempted to restart the vehicle with no success and the shifter button would not depress.she panicked because of loosing control of the vehicle with so many small kids around and called me.i left work, and upon arrival attempted to troubleshoot what caused the incident.i started at the shifter, so i loosened all the covers around it, in case there was something binding the shifter.i actually did find several small items that had fallen in the compartment through the front edge of the center console cover assembly.removing these items still did not allow restarting of the vehicle.i then looked underneath the vehicle, and discovered that the linkage from the shifter to the transmission had separated.i manipulated the input lever at the transmission with my hand and noticed that it had movement in both directions, which meant the transmission was actually not in park.after positioning the input lever at the transmission to park, the vehicle did start.i shut the vehicle off and reconnected the separated linkage.i was shocked to see that the piece that maintains such an important linkage connected appears to be made from a plastic.to me this is a major issue that can cause someone to potentially have a vehicle stuck in a movement causing gear, and due to a linkage separation have no way to properly turn the vehicle off (until it runs out of gas), to made from plastic.please look into this.

On may 3rd 2010, the truck just died in the middle of the road while driving home with my son at night.i had to quickly try to get to the side of the roadwithout any power assist.the envoy would not start again, not even turn over.the shifter was locked and it could not even be put into neutral to push it over to the side.various messages scrolled by on the vehicle display and many of the warning lights were dimly blinking.i had to get it towed. I scanned the following codes p1516 & p1682, looked up the symptoms on the internet and found many hits that said the issue was with a faulty ignition switch.after charging up the battery which ran down on the hazards while waiting an hour for a tow, i replaced the ignition switch and the envoy now works again.it has less than 30,000 miles on it.this type of failure concerns me very much!i consider it a huge safety issue that a vehicle can die while driving and then be so completely disabled by a $30part.this could of had much more dire consequences had it happened on a freeway as opposed to a suburban side street.
I was driving along interstate 69 near fort wayne in my leased 2006 gmc envoy denali with my boss on company business when a car from behind me pulled along side honking their horn and yelling for me to pull over and get out of my car because it was on fire. We immediately stopped, got out, and saw flames underneath the engine compartment of my vehicle. We called 911 who dispatched fort waynefire and indiana state police personnel. The car was towed to the local gmc dealership. Both a third party insurance investigator and a general motors investigator concur that the front differential failed causing lubricant to spray onto the catalytic converter and exhaust system igniting afire. General motors has admitted to me that this is a defect i could not possibly known about nor was it my fault in any way.general motors wants to "repair" the vehicle and put me back in it. I've told them my life and my boss's life were at stake because of this fire which if no one had warned me about as i was driving, the consequence could have been two fatalities as i did not know the vehicle was on fire as i drove along the highway. I've asked general motors to do the right thing, break my lease, and they can have this envoy to do with as they please. To date, they have refused to accommodate me.i refuse to put myself or my two small children back into a vehicle that was on fire and could have cost me my life!
The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy denali xl. The contact stated that while driving at 55 mph, the steering wheel seized and the brakes failed without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 157,239.
I was pulling up to park in a parking lot.i had total brake failure. The electronic safety features failed- and there was no stopping the envoy. I slid up the curb and into the building. The mechanic that repaired the envoy has a written report of the safety systems getting stuck half opened and the brake lines braking and there wasn't any fluid in system.
I was driving our 2006 gmc envoy denali at about 45 mph when the left front abs activated.it was an unnerving experience and happened several times.i had the sensation that the vehicles was instantly pulling to the left with the abs dragging the left front brake.i took it to the dealer who cleared 5 codes related to the front abs sensors and braking system.i'm a member of an online forum called www.trailvoy.com i searched the forums for "brake software" and found multiple complaints that reflect my experience.the dealer, daniels chevyland told me that they have heard this complaint, as well.i am very concerned that if this occurs on gravel, wet or icy roads that an accident could happen. The dealer told me to keep driving the vehicle to see if it happens again.they suggested that i bring the vehicle back to have the brake computer firmware upgraded if the problem occurs again.they were nice enough to say that they will discount the cost of the firmware.
The contact owns a 2006 gmc envoy denali xl. The stability track light came on and the antilock brakes engaged when the vehicle reduced speed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer previously and they reprogrammed the computer. The failure has recurred and the warning light illuminated again. The dealer does not know why itfailed again. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 15,000.

On may 10, 2011 the rear spoiler (with third brake light) flew off the back of my 2006 gmc envoy denali xl shortly after entering the highway. Lucky for me it was crushed by a passing tractor trailer instead of hitting someone's windshield. Gmc said that since my suv was 6 years old and over 100k miles i "should expect " these kind of problems. On july 24, 2011 shortly after entering the highway the entire liftgate window pulled away from the vehicle. I am about to open another complaint with gmc, but expect little help from them. Apparently the window and spoiler are both attached with double sided tape on thismodel year.a definite design flaw. It in my opinion is a hazard to anyone driving behind one of these vehicles and should be recalled and the windows and spoilers "bolted" into place.

I own a2006 envoy denali and last may 2010 i was driving down the a busy highway around 55 miles an hour and the truck just lost all power and completely shutdown. It took aleast three tries before i could get it started again. I was so scared that a tracker trailor would hit me from behind. It didn't do again for a week , and then it happened again. I brought the truck to the shop and the throttle body was replaced at about 65,000 miles. Now its a year later and i again was driving on the highway and the truck engine light came on and all power was lost. I put my hazards on but could only get the truck to about 15 miles an hour so that i could get out of harms way. I called gmc to make an complaint as it is very rare to have to replace a throttle body every year. I take care of my truck and see no reason why it happening other than gmc defect. Gmc did not help me and just said there were no recalls and that it was normal wear and tear. I no this to be untrue and i am very disappointed with gmc and will never buy the product again. I have had nothing but issues with this truck, and after looking into it there are several other envoy owners that are having the same problems as i am. I don't drive on the highway if i can help it at all, getting stuck in the middle lane with a truck that won't move is way to scary. Gmc should have to make it right and recall the truck and figure out why the throttle body fails.

Hello... Why should the consumer pay for it when the problem is never really fixed.
