Defective air bag module # p/n 15080860 serv/no 122162269 aj7: for several years a airbag warning light displayed on my gmc envoy. I took it to several different repair places and all felt it was probably a defective module which should be a recall issue. Onstar said dealer needed to do more diagnostics. Dealer did not perform when first taken in for such. With recent news of deaths due to ignition and airbag failures i became suspicious. Finally, returned to dealers and insisted a comprehensive diagnostic on airbag module be done...couple of days servicing. Module finally confirmed defective. They replaced with #12233969 (module 16712-ct). Cost total for defective part and servicing was $746.28. Firmly believe this should have been a safety recall issue all along, but dealer said gm did not declare as such. Other service repair technicians disagreed. Fortunately no accident was involved in the several years this was an issue.

The contact owns a 2002 gmc envoy 360. When the contact filled the vehicle with a full tank of fuel, there was a fuel odor coming from the rear of the vehicle. Once there was about a quarter tank of fuel left, the odor disappeared. The failure recurred. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where it was diagnosed that there was a fuel leak coming from a chuck valve of the fuel tank. The fuel tank, chuck valve, and fill lines needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact's vehicle was included in a recall issued from the manufacturer, but there was no remedy. The failure mileage was 108,000.

The contact owns a 2002 gmc envoy 360. The contact received notification of a manufacturer special coverage adjustment (campaign number 07099) for the fuel system. The dealer was unable to obtain the part from the manufacturer who indicated that it was not in production. The contact waited an extended period of time and was unable to determine when the manufacturer would produce the part to supply to the dealer for the manufacturer's remedy. The vehicle was still parked from january 2016 and was not repaired. The manufacturer provided no disclosure as to when the parts may be in production to receive the repair. The contact was not experiencing a failure.

The contact owns a 2002 gmc envoy 360. The contact noticed a fracture on the driver side lower control arm bracket that extended to the frame of the vehicle. The lower control arm bracket was also completely rusted. The contact researched and found that the failure was directly related to nhtsa campaign number: 01v260000 (suspension). The dealer stated that the vehicle could be repaired, but not according to the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer stated that the vin was not included in the recall. The approximate failure mileage was 180,000.

I am writing this complaint on a recall that already exist and has not been resolved properly. I am the owner of a gmc envoy 2002. In 2004 there was a safety recall that because of water getting into the wiper motor that the motor would fail and cause an accident. Well the fix for this was to put a cover over the wiper motor in most cases. Well my self and other trailblazer and envoy owners now are seeing the effects of the damage that was done to our wiper motors since 2002. The motor is beginning to skip or sometimes fail because it is slowly rusting from before. Gm need to come up with a real solution to this problem and actually make these vehicles safe.
