I was stopped at a light behind another car i was rear ended which pushed my truck into the back of the car ahead of me so hard it made my truck airborne and rolled 6 times thru a city intersection. The front of my truck was crushed almost to nothing out of the 4 vehicles involved mine was the only one where the airbags didn't deploy.contributing to all the injuries i sustained and i was the only who had injuries.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc canyon. The contact stated that the rear side curtain air bag warning light was illuminated. The contact was concerned that the failure was a known issue for similar 2004 to 2012 models. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was 218,000.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc canyon. The contact stated that while starting the ignition, the air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the air bag wiring harness needed to be patched up. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who stated that the wiring harness needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

Vehicle is a small pick up extended cab with half doors that have rear side hinges. Air bag service light was set.upon repair diagnosis,it was discovered that wires that travel between the body and the left side half door -behind the drivers door were broken from the door opening and closing.since this half door is used very little, there is a defect with the quality of wire that cannot withstand flexing by opening and closing the door. These wires control the pre tensioner assemblyin the half door.when the wires are broken it disables the entire air bag restraint system.wires were not physically damaged by any other means. These wire should not be broken on this age vehicle with little use.

All stop lamps stop working, cruise control switch not working, window switch not working.

The air condition blower motor suddenly failed. Up inspection and troubleshooting it was discovered that the plug connecting to the motor had melted.

---issue with the passlock system---sporadically, when key is inserted into the ignition and turned, the vehicle passlock engages and cuts off fuel to the vehicle.you must wait approximately 10 minutes for security light to quit flashing and then try to start vehicle again.the 10 minute cycle has happened back to back, as many as three times in my experience.the problem gets worse in temperatures below freezing or high humidity.the problem exist with brand new, never used, factory key as well as the normally used key.this issue is very inconvenient, but does raise very important safety concerns.this particular vehicle has a standard transmission.if vehicle is accidentally stalled in the middle of an intersection during shifting, and the passlock problem occurs, you would be unable to restart the vehicle.this would pose immediate danger to the people in the vehicle, as well as, any oncoming traffic.

There is a a problem with the window switch. Windows on passenger side and driver side are no going up.

Wire harness defect a/c blower connector burn up and melted under the dash. This could have resulted in a fire under the dash cause a crash or even death to the driver. There is a recall on the brake lamps inoperative or continuous illumination. If this recall is a wire harness issue then the connector on the blower should be included to this recall,as well.

The contact owns a 2007 gmc canyon. The contact stated that the passlock system was defective. During cold weather conditionsor when it was humid outside, the passlock system would blink which made it difficult for the contact to start the vehicle. The failure occurred four times. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who stated that the entire computer system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired when the complaint was filed. The manufacturer stated that he would be responsible for diagnostic testing. The current mileage was 50,221. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.

The truck's security system and remote start stopped working. It consistently has to be reset for 10 minutes every failed attempt at trying to get the vehicle started. Have altogether stopped using the security system (which is not a good idea in an apartment complex). Now the auxiliary system still remains on if the only door used is the driver's side door. The passenger door has to be opened and closed to turn this off. This is not safe (especially when parked in a parking garage, a cold night, or parking away from a light).

On april 17 2010 i smelled burning wires under the dash board on the passenger side and then the blower fan stop working.i took it to the dealer on 4/21/10 for repair. Gmac canyon 2007 truck. On december 29, 2012 the same odor was coming from under dash board and smoke too unplug a burning wire to prevent a fire, and the blower fan was working sometime and sometime it was not working at all. I have an appointment on monday january 7, 2013 for the same problem.if i didn't act quickly my vehicle would have caught fire and burn at any time.i think this problem should be investigated to see if there a safety problem overall with the gmac canyon 2007 trucks.need to know if there were a recall on the 2007 gmac canyon.

Several occasions, i have had incidents with the ignition switch on my vehicle. I purchased it new, and the maker claims no problem with my particular vehicle, but it has kept the motor from running at times, and engine starter will engage with switch only in the "on" position, without turning to start. That's scary. Vehicle never did any of this while under warranty,(of course), but given the maker's track record with ignition switches, this certainly has me concerned.

Vehicle cranks but does not start.security light flashing.after 10 minutes with key on and security light off after turning off then crank engine starts.happened at least 15 times.now, engine sometimes will crank itself in the "on" position and will not start and security light flashing. Happened three timesand finally after three 10 minute key on wait cycles in a dark parking lot security light stopped flashing and started and made it home.vehicle very unreliable now.i am tired of having a vehicle that thinks the owner is trying to steal owned vehicle.and auto crank in the on- not start- position without running.how do i bypass this awful system without another car payment to another automaker?this defect is dangerous and hazardous when stopping for fuel and have to leave engine on or holding up customers until engine starts.also holding up vehicles on a ferry boat.very embarrassing when friends and co workers have to wait till vehicle decides to start and run. And being late to work.i do not want new parts that will fail again, i want it bypassed. Send me a kit with directions asap!

I took my truck in to the dealer because the rear brakes would stick the when depressed and released doing normal stop and go in my neighborhood at intersections with stop signs. The deal service advisor informed me that there was a service bulletin on my rear brakes. The did the repairs as stated in the service bulletin and that i would not have a problem with my brakes. I told the service advisor at the dealership that in order for the proper repairs done that both sides if my rear axle brakes should have new parts installed, not just one side. On the day of june 20th 2011 with only 25277 miles on my 2007 gmc canyon the brakes started to stick and squeal again just like when i had the first work done as stated in the first service bulletin. Now the service advisor informs that i must pay the labor charges for these new repairs to install parts and the rear axle brakes even after the fact i informed them that i purchased the "extented warranty coverage" because at the time i purchased this warranty i was told that if any mechanical failed i would be covered and i could drive my new truck "worry free" of any problem after the original 3 year or 30,000 miles, which ever comes first, ran out.

Heater controls quit working. Upon further investigation, the factory wiring harness main hvac connector is burnt.

Abs fault i have replaced brakes wheel hubs and sensers 2 times in 3 months still abs fault 98,000 miles on truck this issue is all over the internet needs to be addressed

The truck experiences engine stutter at low idle (>1000rpms) varying from 1000 rpms to 200 rpms with felt loss of power steering at low rpms.at lower rpms, typically at stops or low idle turns, the truck will stall with loss of power steering and brake control (tapping the brake equals slamming the brake).recently, the issue is now becoming more frequent and now occurring while making low idle turns into traffic causing a stall.the only resolution is to drop the truck in neutral, in traffic, and restart hoping the bump start will occur on the first try before being hit from behind.i have called gm service shops, the service center in detroit as well as looked for recalls online and there are no official postings or knowledge of these problems despite numerous individual accounts found in gmc/chevy forums.this issue is a dangerous issue in my opinion and needs to be addressed.

When you start your truck up let it warm up you start driving down the road and you touch the brakes and the rpm start going up and down up and down with vehicle dying sporadically

Vehicle won't start after it shut off while driving on frwy . Pull over and started after a few minutes like nothing had happened

The vehicle has 9 bolts holding the exhaust manifold to the engine. The owner smelled strong exhaust smell in the cabin. He removed the exhaust manifold from vehicle and found that 4 of the 9 bolts had failed and were broken off flush with the engine block. There was exhaust residue in the immediate area of the 1st and 5th cylinder port indicating that exhaust gas was being discharged into the engine bay. The failure is an alarming safety event because of the potential for hot exhaust to cause a fire in the engine compartment and the potential for asphyxiation due to contaminated cabin air. This is also an environmental control failure because a portion of the exhaust gas iss bypassing the catalytic converters. The owner is the original owner and all equipment is original. He is a degreed mechanical engineer and has worked in automotive component manufacturing. Gm was contacted directly and the owner directed to see the dealership. The owner provided the dealership with the attached photos but then refused to inspect the vechicle without first collecting a "diagnostic fee." the owner refused.

My 2007 gmc canyon is suffering from the problems described in service bulletin #07123a, engine intake valve seat/misfire. The extended warranty granted to those in #07123a was for model years 2004-2006. My vehicle was built after this time frame but is evidence that the problem still exists. Gm should do the right thing and extend the service bulletin to include model year 2007. The vehicle has 48,864 miles on it and i was quoted $2,500 plus tax to make the repairs at brotherton gmc/cadillac in renton, wa.

Over fused dash wiring, causing connectors to melt and resistors to blow in a/c and heat fan control system on a truck with only 10,000 miles ! causing a source for fire and toxic gas in cabin! this required aconnector and a resistor to be replaced, at a cost of $306.13, but gmc did not lower the fused rating in truck.

The contact called on behalf of the owner of a 2007 gmc canyon. While driving at an unknown speed, the contact became nauseous. The contact pulled the vehicle off the roadway, exited the vehicle, and passed out for several minutes according to a witness. The driver experienced symptoms due to carbon monoxide poisoning. The contact attempted to move the vehicle once she regained consciousness, but became overwhelmed. The contact stopped the vehicle and, while attempting to retrieve documents from the glove box, she noticed flames inside the glove box. The contact exited the vehicle. The fire department was notified and was able to extinguish the fire; however, the vehicle was destroyed. A fire report was not filed. The driver was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital. The driver received oxygen for six hours to remove the carbon monoxide from her lungs. The vehicle was towed to a private lot. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 85,003.

To whom it may concern,i purchased my 2007 gmc canyon in february 2007 with trailer harness as standard equipment at fresard gmc.i actually almost caused an accident due to all my brake lights not working.i called gmc to report this incident due to internet research on recall for brake light failure. The rep tried to deny recall but i explained to her about recall. She located closest dealer which was red holman gmc for recall on brake light failure but they are trying to charge me $300 for new trailer harness plus additional labor cost. The dealership is stating that water got into my trailer harness which caused all the lights to stop working.i have not used the trailer and learned it was incorrectly installed at the factory.can you please assist me with this problem because this is my primary transportation?[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Left rear brake lamp is inoperative periodically. I've replaced the bulb 3 times in the past but this time the light would not work. The last bulb was partially melted at contacts. Not covered by recall - i am paying for socket replacement. Don't know if this is a chronic problem.

Bought our pristine 2007 gmc canyon sle in nov 2017 with 45, 471 original miles.been very happy with it until lighting quirks started about a year ago.the last year or so the turn signal and brake lights have pulses where they decide to not work correctly.then work fine for months, before acting up again.we actually had our canyon in at the gmc dealer in dec 2019 for loos intake manifold repair, 2nd time in last 9 months..the service manager told us we also had no brake lights.i said i did not know that and i was now concerned how long they have not been working, and that we have had intermittent turn signal issues a number of times in the last year.comes and goes.i then asked if there was any brake light or light switch recall on our canyon.i said i remember seeing a recall notice on consumer reports.he said their is no recall on our canyon.they said they fixed the brake light with a new brake pedal brake light switch.tonight the lights started acting up again.when push brake peddle, left turn signal turns on.left turn signal was also intermittent function, occasionally this last week.tonight it had a hard time figuring out how to work, flash correctly.then, while driving home tonight and with my kids following me in their suv, when we got home they said the canyon needs to stay parked until repaired.they said my turn signals and brakes light are totally messed up and not working.no left running light, no left brake light, and right brake light on full brightness the whole time. They could not tell when i was braking or using the turn signals.interesting how the dealer service manager did not recommend to us that they replace the light switch anyways, just to be safe.

I noticed that the cruise control wasn't working. I checked the fuse. It was good. A week later, my wife was following my vehicle and noticed that i had no brake lights.

After filling up fuel spits back out of the filler tube. Has occured multiple times for many years. Appears to be getting worse. Vehicle is stationary

Automatic transmission failure where overdrive and 3rd gear ceased to function.2nd, 1st and reverse remained operational.dealer diagnosed as a failed sprag clutch.cost to repair was $1,925.56. Gm has known about this problem since it issued a technical service bulletin (tsb) #3931 on september 28, 2006, (nhtsa reference #10021018). There have been numerous complaints pertaining to this mechanical design defect ever since without notice or remedy offered to vehicle owners.

I have a 2007 gmc canyon pickup and recently the rear brakes have excessive grab, aggressive drag, and the rear drums lock up cautioning an unsafe condition.after the vehicle has set for a while, during the first few stops or before you get heat built up in the brakes, it feels as though the brakes are grabbing excessively.in addition, the tires chirp and/or leave skip marks during braking.the condition is very unsettling to the driver and i believe the excessive brake grab could cause an accident.i have searched technical bulletins and found the following gm service bulletin (07-05-24-001b).i have contacted my dealer that i bought the truck from and they have indicated it is not under a safety recall and the repair is going to cost $240.i believe this condition warrants a recall and the cost be absorbed by the manufacturer.due to economic conditions at this time, i believe i am among most consumers who cannot afford a major repair such as this at this time.i also believe that the initial condition with the rear brakes will increase the brake wear on the front brakes.
