Side blind zone sensors fail due to water intrusion - which is a known issue.a special coverage adjustment (#n172097060) was issued to repair this however not all vehicles are covered in the sca vin search - and are not being addressed.my vehicle did not fall within the vin search and experienced the same issues described in the sca.the day after the initial diagnostic and awaiting the part for repair i experienced a complete vehicle shut down due to the corruption of the sensor.i was not aware of this situation until after i researched the sca.this corruption is noted in the sca, however it only states part of the issues you may see.during the shutdown i was luckily not in motion, however, the corruption of the gmlan cause the airbags to disable, passenger airbag presence detection turned off, tire pressure sensor monitors were disabled, the entire dic shut down, instrument cluster shut down, radio and infotainment center shut down, door locks malfunctioned, power steering shut down, power brakes shut down, windows were disabled, and the vehicle would not restart until after about 15 minutes.there is no protection between the sensors for electrical interference and the gm lan.a sensor should not cause these issues, however it does, and it was also noted in the sca.this issue needs to be addressed.the malfunctioning sensors also cause a power drain on the battery, prior to the dic reporting the sensor failure, which is a fire hazard.gm has not addressed the widespread issue of these faulty sensors outside the sca, nor the safety hazards of the lack of protection on the gm lan caused by electrical interference.if the vehicle is rear-ended, the sensors could cause corruption in the gmlan similar to the water intrusion issue - rendering the front airbags inoperable.

My 2015 gmc acadia has a service air bag light on. This vehicle has never been in an accident of any kind (minor or major). Not sure if it is an electrical short or if it is a bad air bag. Now i have no idea if the airbags will even deploy if we are in an accident. Since it is 3 years old the dealership said they will not cover it under warranty. To me this is a safety hazard that should be addressed with cost to the consumer. I have looked for any recalls but have not found any. I'm sure my vehicle is not the only one with this problem. Can you please look into this for the safety of the public. Thank you

Within the last week, my service air bag light came on and then would go off, either while driving or sitting.i could be driving down the road, the light would come on, stay on for a minute, go off for a minute and come back on. It did this for several days.now the service air bag light stays on all of the time.the vehicle has not been in a crash.

The service air bags soon light had come on is there a recall on servicing air bags.

Air bag light is on, the vehicle hasn't been in any accident. Sometimes the light will go off for a couple of days and then come back on, seems there should be a recall for this problem.

Vehicle hit other vehicle that was stopped at intersection at 50 mph and airbags did not deploy

The contact owns a 2015 gmc acadia. The contact stated that the service air bag warning indicator was illuminated. The dealer diagnosed that the air bag warning sensor needed to be replaced. The air bag warning sensor was replaced; however, the failure recurred. While the vehicle was being repaired for the third time, the rear air bags deployed independently. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 18,000.

We had our car's bumper repaired, shortly prior to taking it the body shop the "service air bag" light came on.the auto body shop checked and indicated that there was a safety recall / campaign - 15804a, it applied to gmc acadia's manufactured between 2014-2015.the campaign was valid for a 6 year period, 72,000 miles.the vehicle has about 57,500 miles and is 2015.gmc has indicated it's not part of the recall.the papers the autobody shop shared are for a campaign #15804a.from what i can see it was issued on febraury 8, 2017.the dealer says the recall expired in november (yes during a pandemic when we're asked to do our best to minimize exposure, and gm can't even locate the recall..not safe at all, from a lot of lenses.

"service air bag" light has been coming on and off for a few months now.it doesn't consistently stay on.it comes on sometimes when i have my purse in the passenger seat. The car can be moving or idle.i've seen other complaints regarding this same subject.i got a diagnostic test at the dealer and they said it would be $1566.00 to repair it.

Service airbag warning comes on when driver seat is moved.

Service air bags. The whole air bag system from front to back needs servicing.i believegmc acaidas need to be recalled for this issue.

On 15 plus occasions, while the vehicle is stationary, in the parking gear and running, the front end will start to vibrate mildly, increase in intensity and then the traction loss light illuminates, a blinking engine light illuminates, "service stabilitrak" and "service traction control" messages appear.then traction contol off appears, followed by an audible loud click and vibration ceases, messages disappear and lights turn off.once while vehicle in drive and being operated on a roadway, i pulled right at an intersection to have this same sequence happen during driving, resulting in an almost complete loss of power and acceleration and a near accident.the sequence was identical and once the errors cleared the vehicle accelerated rapidly and forcefully.i have documented multiple occasions on video while stationary over a multi month period and have furnished those documents to my local gmc dealership which has failed to repair this issue and today returned my vehicle to me with an apology for not being able to remedy the problem.they claim that the vehicle must exhibit this behavior in their presence to warrant a fix.the vehicle is under an extended warranty that clearly covers these problems. I would be happy to email the videos, but they are not in the supported format and likely larger than 5mb.

I have a 2015 gmc acadia, i have had to replace the module to the side mirror safety lights twice.it has recently gone out again.i was told the wiring is shorting out causing the module to go out and the car to not run.gmc has a recall for this vehicle under 80,000 miles.my car currently has 127,000.00 miles because i drive it a lot for work.i contacted gmc and explained this has been replaced twice and is a safety issue that they know about and was told there is nothing they can do for me.i am a single mother and cannot afford to have this fixed again so i have no safety module for the side mirror or park assist.gmc knows this is a problem and that it was fixed once under 80,000 miles, again under 100,000 miles and now at 127,000 it is shorting out causing issues with the car to start and even with documentation from the dealer will not fix the car under recall.if gmc will not fix their safety issues they should not be allowed to marker these as safety features on the car, especially since they are aware of the electrical issues with the vehicle and chose not to fix the,

When driving stablitrac, abs, all wheel drive fails giving alarms on the dash. Suv starts so shutter and loose acceleration. If the car is stopped and shut off it will clear. When you start driving again it will randomly do it again, such as when you turn a corner or pull out to pass someone. I has happened a couple of times. The last time was worse. I almost got hit because it lost power. Looking on line it looks like the same problem that other gmc vehicles have a history of.

On 4/11/18 we took the car to the dealership for a side dtection alert. Was informed that the right side module needed replaced. We declined service due to cost of $628. 01/2019 we were have problems with the car starting. Last week multiple warning a messages started appear on the dashboard as the car was traveling and stationary. Took the car in for service anddiagnoses was the right side detection model had severe corrosion and the left side model also had corrosion. Parts where not available so we drove the car home. Next day same issue with multiple warnings and alerts on the dash. My wife was able to make it home and after turning off the car it would not start even after charging the battery. Next day had the car transported to the dealership. After disconnecting the side sensor models, the car restarted and started functioning normal. Obviously this is a big saftey concern for a vehicle that is less than 4 years old, less than 50k miles, garage kept and well care for.

The acadia has side detection sensor issues related to poor design and/or the elements (gm service teams words not mine).if this is true, am i, as the customer supposed to pay for the bad engineering decisions made by gm engineers? or if the sensors failed due to the elements, am i not to drive my awd acadia outside?i'm a little confused on why the responsibility of the repair cost falls on my shoulders with the above-mentioned being the root causes.jody in the service department personally told me that the sensors would probably need to be replaced every 1 to 2 years at a cost of $1,200 per time, and because of this people have eventually given up and traded in their vehicles (i can't say i blame them).i've been a tried and true chevy/gmc fan, but that kind of customer care has swayed my opinion.i've reached out to gm corporate, but they were not helpful either.the lack of support on a 3-year-old $55,000 vehicle is astonishing.

I just purchased this car three months ago, the a/c is no longer blowing cold air.the air blows but not cold and the heat works just fine.from what i've read online, this appears to be a common issue on this make and model.please address this..

The contact owns a 2015 gmc acadia. The contact took the vehicle to arnie bauer buick gmc (5525 miller circle drive, matteson, il 60443) where it was diagnosed that the blind side alert was damaged and needed replacement; however, the part for the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified and provided case number: 5410777277. The failure mileage was 29,386.

A few days before my girlfriend left with the suv out of state i noticed the electric door lock (only on the passenger front door) was back to manual. Than the same day of trip it started working again, but on her way back she called me to say the light came on for service stabilitrak, and trac. Control off. It was also effecting the steering wheelmaking it jerk while going over 60mph on the highway making it a safety hazard. After reset jt was fine, but very alarming to continue to drive this suv for years to come knowing it could pop up and safety issue at any given time. This needs to b addressed asap! sounds like a ground issue. Suv is 4 years old, and rust and corrosion free. Maybe gm made an error with interior mounted modules. Also the vehicle was coming out of a slowing traffic area on highway at the time (construction zone) when tring to catch back up to speed the vehicle reduced power. (limp mode) this seems to b a very common problem.

It appears that the electrical system to the car radio has shorted out.it effects the sound to the blinker as well as to the radio.i am very concerned that it may have other electrical problems.is this covered under any kind of recall.i have heard that the whole dash could be effected and my car just stop running.the car was not running when this happened.i open the passenger side front door and it made a loud noise which sounded like it was shorting out.the vehicle runs but am very leary about taking it on a long trip.where i bought the car says there is a month wait!

Bought car 10-11 days ago used.35k miles.smelled like brakes were left on.stopped and checked.nothing.ac quit

The issue started with my back hatch opening on its own at random times. Found out this was caused by water entering the lift switch. That problem lead to the battery eventually going bad and then the headlights being blown due the bad battery. Not sure how water got in the back hatch ruining the sensor but this is costing me about $1000 to fix.

2015 gm acadia. Consumer writes requesting reimbursement for repairing side detection sensors. *ld

Water is getting into the rear doors and it entering the wiring harness located on both doors shorting out the radio, the amp and the turn signals. This is very dangerous and according to the forums online it is a regular occurrence.

Driving at 34-45 mph lose all engine power and have to pull over. Vehicle totally loses all power. Engine shuts off.

Service airbag warning comes on when driver seat is moved.

When you turn traction control on the entire car shakes. Windshield wiper fluid will not come out. Passenger window will not roll up from driver control. Tire pressure monitor system has been out for time. This car is not that old for it to have all these issues

Water is collected where the amps are located near the door hinges and shorts them out. Nothing that has a sound works after that. So no radio, back up sensor sounds, seat belt reminders, blinkers, cell phone speakers, etc.costs about $1000 to get fixed and will only happen again because of faulty drainage.it happened after raining for a couple days.car was in the driveway.this happened about 3 months ago and the sound has never come back on.

Side detection, front and rear cameras failed due to corrosion of harness (84004718) and two modules (84031087). Replacement of these components required to repair problem. Had to wait over a month for replacement parts. This is a safety hazard.

There is a defect in which water leaks inside the vehicle and gets into the fuse box and causes issues with the vehicle ignition switch, damage to the fuses, draining the battery etc.

It has been since i bought the vehicle ... Gas gauge is intermittent and cross traffic alerts go off randomly (with no traffic or obstructions) paint has had to be redone leather replaced trim redone etc... The car almost killed me and my children, i'm driving down the freeway at 70mph and suddenly i lost control of the vehicle it slowed down to 49 then 25 lost steering and able to drift to the side before the whole vehicle started shaking violently and i shut it down as i believed it would explode (i was terrified) i called a dealer and they asked if i turned it off and on again ? engine light came on traction control would not renegade and message said decreasing power to engine while it was happeningand abs light on ... All failures... Managed to get to destination but vehicle was sluggish and jumping gears felt really jerky... 4th start all lights disappearedand although car was still sluggish figured might have been an electrical fault made appointment for dealership told it would cost ... Parker car drove other vehicle then had to use this one and same thing happened again so took to dealership they couldn't figure out the codes was told had broken engine mount (said it was on backorder as it's been happening a lot) and was sent on my way to see if it would happen again. That weekend it happened again had figured out by then that 5-7 starts it would act up. Took to dealership and left running so they could see what was wrong (failed transmission, steering columnblock pump sensor etc replaced. Was given a rental gmc by herts and you guess it same thing on freeway all the lights on the dash start lighting up failed traction eas and breaks (super scary brand new only 600 miles on that car) switched out vehicle for a safer car (toyota) i'm unable to check more boxes but speed and control were also affected

Service stabilitrak--traction control off! message, then car ran rough and lunged on acceleration. This happened at 5,000 miles, repaired at dealer. Again about 12,000 on a trip and reset itself. Now, at 20,000 miles sames message and is at the dealer being repaired. This is a safety hazard. Please investigate this.

Approximately 2 months ago, the vehicle shut down in the middle of high speed traffic.several warning indicators appeared (e.g. "stabilitrack off", etc.), then the vehicle immediately shut down.propulsion stopped and the vehicle slowly came to a stop.luckily, my wife was able to steer off to the side of the road safely.it was towed to the dealer, although it was able to restart.the dealer had fixed it, then returned the vehicle to us.two months later, the identical thing occurred; same error messages followed by the vehicle shutting down, in the middle of driving it.we took it back to the dealer, and a different problem was diagnosed (with the vehicle out of service > 2 weeks this time).we have lost confidence in the vehicle, and feel it is unsafe to drive.

While driving in heavy city traffic, my warning lights came on for "reduced power", 'traction control" malfunction, 'stabilitrac and abs lights came on. Power reduced to 25mph. I was close to the dealership and went there right away. The service writer told me i would have to wait at least 2 to 4 hrs before anyone could look at. My mileage was 36,432...432 miles out of bumper to bumper warranty...he told me the charges for diagnosing would be $130. I agreed. Then he explained that the the low hp fuel pressure/purge solenoid was stuck open, dianose codes were po191 and po496, they replaced a high pressre fuel pump, r&r intake plenum to replace fuel rail pressure sensor and replace a purge control solenoid.cost to me was $1,760.51 ($866.06 labor- $820.43 parts -$30.00 misc.charge-$82.29 misc.discount- taxes of $126.31.i don't understand why they couldn't be more lenient with mileage on warranty. I purchased this vehicle new from them and have completed all my service work there. This was a scary situation in noon rush hour traffic without any roadside pull off at the time.could there have been a defection fuel pump? i was told by service writer "if you had driven any further more damage would have happened to engine block".

My car whined and groaned when you turn the wheel so i took it in and had the power steering pump replaced and now my wheel.wont turn at all .upon reading many complaints with this vehicle found it may be the rack and pinion i am.going to have to tow to a different mechanic to see if the new problem is covered under warranty.

Every time i go to the gas station afterfilling up my truck with gasoline, my vehicle will not start up right away. I have to press the gas pedal lightly in order for it to start up. This just started recently.

At just under 1 year old the rack and pinnon went out. Replaced under warranty. Then at just over 3 years old it went out again on top of that for the last 9-12 months the engine will rev up and accelerate on it's own after it will chug for a bit then the sensor stabilitrak warning comes on then it will say traction control off then it will say its back on. I have also had it where it will looses engine power and you can barely get it to go when pushing the gas pedal. It's done this series of events about 10 times. It happens when driving, when in park, and while sitting at a red light. No rhyme or reason to it. But it is pretty unsafe when a vehicle will accelerate on its own driving anywhere! not to mention that a rack and pinnon should not go out 2xs in less than 3 years let alone on a vehicle that cost 45,000+ that was purchased to order brand new! these kind of costly repairs might i mention aren't covered under their power train warranty, though rack and pinnon is part of the steering component. Also this summer at less than 4 years old the ac quit working so i went in 90 degree temps with a baby and no ac until we had a chance to recharge it with refrigerant.

Ist time-car stationary-started car and it started shaking-tractionary control warning came on-turned car off-waited a few minutes and turned it on and it was fine -the next day after driviing 250 miles it happened again after stopping for a toll booth-the car shut down with the same warning-after two tries it started and we drove to a chevrolet dealer and they replaced the throttle body

Immediately after filling the tank with gas, i started the engine and it accelerated to full capacity. The engine had made clicking sounds, and other sounds when it started.

When you turn traction control on the entire car shakes. Windshield wiper fluid will not come out. Passenger window will not roll up from driver control. Tire pressure monitor system has been out for time. This car is not that old for it to have all these issues

The contact owns a 2015 gmc acadia. The contact stated the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact restarted the vehicle, but the failure recurred whether driving or parked.the contact took the vehicle to the dealer; however, the dealer was unable to identify the failure and diagnose the vehicle. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer stated that further evidence regarding the failure was needed. The approximate failure mileage was 18,860.

Service stabilitrak--traction control off! message, then car ran rough and lunged on acceleration. This happened at 5,000 miles, repaired at dealer. Again about 12,000 on a trip and reset itself. The contact owns a 2015 gmc acadia. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled in the middle of the road without a warning light illuminated. The contact received assistance from the police to push the vehicle to the shoulder of the roadway. The contact attempted to restarted the vehicle which failed to start. The vehicle was towed to d'arcy buick gmc (2022 essington rd, joliet, il 60435, (815) 671-9010) where it was diagnosed however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure however, informed the contact that no fix was available for the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer and the contact was informed by the technician that there was no fix for the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 17,000.

Bad shifting in transmission when you slow down or come to a stop and turn right and accelerate at the same time.this happens on the 2014 and 2015 models, tranmission will stutter and abruptly shift into a lower gear.on the acadia forums it is documented by other owners as well (approx 30-50 other owners).the transmission needs a reprogram to account for this issue. Gm appears to not be doing anything about this common issue.

After picking up our new truck we noticed that the vehicle's engine was short jumping at low speeds, especially when in traffic - at first when this occurs you have to almost ask yourself did i hit the gas pedal instead of the brakes. After only a couple weeks of ownership we dropped off our new vehicle to be repaired. Dealer 's gmc certified technician had to consult with gmc corporate to help troubleshoot and then decided to replace the lower and upper engine valve covers, and the transmission control module; which was a quick fix that lasted a little over a week. Now our brand new vehicle is once again a lemon and repeating the original issue. After contacting gmc and after requesting another safer new vehicle since its common sense that a brand new truck should not have any internal engine or transmission problems being that we have a four year old, two year old, and a newborn, i am a concerned for my family's safety; gmc corporate response was "don't you think that 1 car in 300,000 would have an issue"...at the end we are not talking about a loose belt or wheel out of balance, but an internal problem which there tech told my wife that he could not guarantee that the care was safe during his test drive. The dealer's manager response was "the car is not our problem when it leaves our lot", it then falls under the manufacture warranty; which makes sense, but once again we are talking about a brand new car, not a car that has some usage. Now twenty days in the shop and only 2,000 mile on the vehicle they decided to replace the transmission, but still can't tell us what is wrong with the vehicle; which now when braking on the highway it downshifts hard and almost feels like somebody rear ended you.

We have a 2015 gmc acadia sle-2 with projector headlights. We can only see about 50-75 ft. Ahead with low beams, there is a dark line at hood level where the light cuts of into darkness. The light bounces up and down when driving this is very distracting and dangerous. It is difficult to see the shoulder of the road, i did not see a pedestrian until he was right beside me. The high beams are about the same as the low beams in our previous vehicle (2010 gmc terrain). I contacted our dealer who said there was no recall or tsb regarding our problem. The service manager said he will try to adjust the aim of the headlights. He stated he had done this with other customers but it was not a fix for the problem it may only help a little. I saw similar complaints on carcomplaints.com. We feel this a safety issue and needs to be addressed. We feel someone should drive this vehicle in a dark rural area (where we live and drive most often) and they would see the problem!!!

The contact owns a 2015 gmc acadia. The contact stated that the low beam headlamp assembly was extremely dim. During evening hours, the contact had to apply the high beams because the visibility was poor. The dealer was notified of the failure and indicated that the low beams met the manufacturer's standards. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not provide a remedy or modification to improve the visibility. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown. My recent trip from connecticut to atlanta,ga and then to vero beach ,fl was driven at night.i found myself having trouble seeing any road sign hanging high, and most road signs in general unless i used my high beam lighting. I brought my car to the gmc dealership in both vero beach,fl and watertown, ct where i bought the car. It was found to have a very sharp cut off of light and with in the design tolerance. Both dealers have no clue as it is in gmc tolerance and there is no replacement light bulb for the light assembly. They both agree there is a design problem. I am now stuck with a new car that has bad lighting and will need additional lighting or get a new car from someone other than gmc. I did contact gmc and was told that there was not much they could do as it was per design.my car has no additional lighting, not even a fog light.just received a call from gmc. The car is ok by its design, and as of now i have no more options.

My headlights started going dim, and would go completely off.i had to continuously turn the headlights on and off to keep them working. This would happen every couple of minutes when driving at any speed.

My first incident on my 2015 gmc acadia sle fwd purchased brand new was this year at 40000 miles. One head light went out and then the other in which the dealer wanted 400+ bucks to replace. The lighting is actually bad from the headlamps. They lights do not extended in front of you to see if you will be coming upon anything and can possibly run it over. My second issue at 41000 was the power steering. One day i heard a loud whining as i turned the corner on a city street and suddenly the power steering stopped. I looked in the manual and it says to put a certain type of transmission fluid in there, but i had just had a free oil change at the dealer about 3 weeks ago and they do not top off any other fluids. After putting the fluid in the power steering place, i noticed a leak. Come to find out the power steering pump is leaking on my car with only 41000 miles. A brand new car practically that cost 30,000 should not have issues so soon. Today, driving to work i almost lost it because my car all of a sudden started jumping codes "service stabilitrak; service traction control; traction control off; engine power is reduce' and my speed went from about 40 to 30 instantly. I was driving on a city street traffic while this happened and was unaware. Just think, if i did not put on brakes and was going at a certain speed and the person behind me is as well, and my car's speed just drop dramatically, what type of injuries could have occurred. I am very perturbed because this is the second gm car that i purchased with defects and my car just so happen to be omiited from any recalls. I own a 2010 chevy malibu as well and the power steering completely stopped working in 2015 and i had to pay 1300 to get it fixed, while other cars where on recall for the same issue. I'm so done with gm!!

Every time i go to the gas station afterfilling up my truck with gasoline, my vehicle will not start up right away. I have to press the gas pedal lightly in order for it to start up. This just started recently.

Injectors sticking open. Brought to dealer at 26,000 miles after it broke down 200 miles away. That was after the gmc dealership told us it should be ok to drive. Injector stuck open and the dealer we broke down at said the vehicle could catch fire if we kept driving. They replaced the injector that was the issue. Now last week another different injector failed. This time the inside of the vehicle filled with the smell of fuel and was violently shaking on the road. We couldn't pull over rodger away because we weren't on a safe road to stop at. Ended up driving it to the nearest gas station. My wife and son were in the car screaming and crying at how bad the car was driving and smelled. We were very fearful the car was going to catch on fire. Gmc once again states it's an isolated incident after it's happened twice within months. And they refuse to replace all injectors or recall the vehicle. We told them we didn't feel safe driving it but they don't care to hear it. Both times we were driving between 55-70mph and it's a very scary unsafe feeling when it happens.

The contact owns a 2015 gmc acadia. The contact stated that the fuel gauge was inoperable. The contact stated that the fuel gauge would remain at one quarter full even after being filled up. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 64,000.

Immediately after filling the tank with gas, i started the engine and it accelerated to full capacity. The engine had made clicking sounds, and other sounds when it started.

Vehicle stalls after putting fuel in. Won't initially start until second try turning it on.

The car does not shift properly. During driving on slowing the car will buck rather then smoothly change to the lower gear. This has been an on going problem there was re on the cellenoid to correct, however, it is doing it again.

The suv starts to pull when gear switches to the next gear making my suv not change gear took it to a mechanical they say it's the adjust clutches it should be recall but it's not

Left vehicle parked on incline with parking brake set. Returned to vehicle, started engine, released parking brake , put vehicle in drive. The gear indicator on the dash showed the car was in drive. The gear selector in center console indicated it was in drive. Stepping on gas responded with only increased rpm. Vehicle began to roll rapidly in reverse. The power steering and power brakes were not working (almost like it was in park). The vehicle was nearly uncontrollable and almost resulted in severe injury as a couple and their dog were walking behind vehicle on sidewalk at time of incident. After exerting a significant amount of force on the brak pedal the vehicle stopped. I applied the parking brake and shifted to park. Shifted back to drive with the same result rolling back further nearly hitting a brick mailbox. I then put th car in park and turned it off restarted and shifted back to drive, the vehicle then performed as expected. Very fortunate this incid t was not a deadly accident. This same problem exhibited itself on level ground on w previous occasion but was dismissed as an isolated incident, but it has happened multiple times now.

Since we have owned our vehicle we have had to make multiple repairs to the ac. Our transmission has been had to be fixed twice, and is currently still not working properly.

I have taken the vehicle to be repaired 5 times already and gm still refuses to acknowledge the full extent of the issue. My transmission was repaired under 100k miles while under warranty coverage for a slipping 3rd gear, excessive shudder, and hesitation. After a 3 attempts for repair, the 4th involved keeping the vehicle for a number of weeks and replacing internal transmission parts. Within 2 months, the symptoms returned but was out of warranty.the service center refused to diagnose it further without a $1,500 "diagnostics fee".i have brought the vehicle multiple times to the dealership, and have contacted gm seeking assistance on the matter. While the dealership service centers continue to focus on other parts and/or smaller sub-components of the transmission, my vehicle remains unsafe to drive outside of my immediate locality. I suffer from stalling, failure to maintain speeds, i cannot pass vehicles, i cannot maintain or obtain highway speeds to keep up with traffic. I have taken it yet again for repair, where the service center refuses to acknowledge the problem. They blamed it on a sensor and sent me on my way, but not only 30 minutes later did the symptoms return full-force.the check engine light has reappeared.prior to the visit earlier today, it was recently tripped at p0796, pressurecontrol solenoid c stuck or closed. I was on the highway today with avg traffic going 75 mph. I was unable to merge into traffic and almost got pushed off of the road as a result.the truck also slipped when travelling inclined over the walt whitman bridge in to philadelphia. It resulted in a bridge closure for 45 minutes while i could get towed off of the bridge.once i got to the service center, as always, but will not drive over 45 mph unless its up to 4600 rpm, steadily. This has got to end.please help.

Transmission started jerking and surging from take off and at shift points.fluid level ok and motor never has run hot. Car ran ok and problem was intermittent. Drove car until recently and problem has continued to get worse. Vehicle acts like transmission jerks in and out of gear at hwy speeds. Issue started at about 98000 miles, most all are hwy miles. Transmission problem occursat all temperatures. Took car to transmission shop and they knew exactly what problem was without even opening hood. They said wave plate in 3-5 gears are cracked and would require a complete rebuild. Got 2 estimates of 3995.00 and 4800.00 from two reputable shops. Did research online and found numerous accounts of this problem starting as far back as 2007 and in various gm vehicles that use the same transmission. Wife refuses to drive car around town due to safety issue.will be getting trans replaced soon. With so many reports of this issue online and at trans shops, problem should be addressed and brought to attention of owners.

On october 8, 2015, our family was driving on i-85 near huntersville, nc. We were in our 2015 gmc acadia, which we'd bought new in august.we were in steady, moving traffic. The cabin was quiet; i was driving, my wife was in the passenger seat, and our two children (ages 9 and 7) were in the second row captain's chairs. Both children were watching their ipads. Suddenly we heard what sounded like a pistol being fired inside the cabin, followed instantly by our 7 yr old son ('son') screaming and yelling, 'it hurts, it hurts.' my wife and i both turned around and saw son clutching his lower back. I negotiated the car to the shoulder and saw that the entire housing/casing of his seatbelt buckle had spontaneously exploded. The buckle wouldn't unlatch, but my wife got him out of the seat and examined him.he had a puncture/gash in his lower back, where some of the shrapnel had hit him.we found both plastic and metal shards in the car.to give you an idea of the force the explosion caused, there was also a 2-4 inch hole in the interior door's paneling. Online research suggests that a pretensioner may have malfunctioned; a gmc service manager stated that the second-row captain chair should not have a pretensioner.

Hello, i have a problem with the seat belt covers (2) coming off on the drive side middle seats. The gmc dealer says that they are not concerned about the issue. But i have 2 toddlers and no seat belt covers. This vehicle only as 30,000 miles on it. I bought it with 21,000 certified.this should be a big concern with any vehicle purchase. Seat belts are supposed to be sturdy and solid this is supposed to save our life if needed. I'm lost i see other complaints on line but no kinda of action is being taking. We need someone to help out the consumers. I ask the dealer if it's because of the way the seats retract and i got possibly but no help. It seems like gmc is not concerned about people's safety.

Passenger front seat belt keeps locking without reason.. Each time my passenger moves it shortens up and locks until you have to unhook and pull seat belt out to extend for comfort.

The contact owns a 2015 gmc acadia. The contact stated that the rear driver's seat did not lock and slid back and forth. The failure began in june of 2019. The vehicle was taken to feldman chevrolet of lansing (2801 e michigan ave, lansing, mi 48912) where it was diagnosed that the seat track needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

The contact owns a 2015 gmc acadia. After driving one hour or longer, the contact would get severe headaches due to the position of the head restraint. The contact had to remove the head restraint due to the headaches. The dealer stated that the new design was a safety regulation and could no longer be turned around. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 200. Updated 09/03/15*lj updated 10/19/2017

The contact owns a 2015 gmc acadia. While driving various speeds, the vehicle experienced unintended acceleration and the contact had to exert excessive pressure to the brake pedal. The contact then heard an abnormal noise coming from the front of the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle independently disengaged and slowed down. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified and made arrangements to have the vehicle towed to a dealer. The failure mileage was 35,021.

My car lost power steering while i was pulling out of a parking space and continued intermittently as i drove! the power steering pump had to be replaced because it was deemed to be leaking and failing. This is the exact same problem for which models 2007-2011 were recalled. Estimates to repair are about $1,000. I have lost the use of my car since july 14, repairs are scheduled for august 18, 2018. Completely dissatisfied with my dealer, bowser, pleasant hills, pa. This is the most umsafe care i have ever driven! the computer controls require driver to take eyes off the road to do everything! voice controls never work properly. Computer system has been fixed twice then finally replaced. I tried to return car days after buying it and dealer refused.

Took vehicle into a gmc dealership for service air bag issue that was covered under a special gmc coverage.dealership found an issue with the power steeringand pump had to be replaced due to moderate leak, mileage 65366 on 11/7/19. Vehicle is only 4 years old and all maintenance completed on time at a gmc leadership. Extended warranty ended in september 2019. This has been an ongoing problem gmc issue for years according to complaints on the internet.the power steering pump on a 4 year old car should not have to be replaced.called gmc customer service number and they called the dealership to give me a cost discount.case number from gmc is [xxx].i had to pay almost $900 on an issue that gmc knew about.i was lucky the issues was identified at this appointment and not when driving.gmc should have a special coverage on this issue just like the service air bag issue.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Auto has 31000 miles on it and the power steering pump has failed.power steering would work intermittently and sometimes fail completely.very dangerous situation.

I have repeatedly been having problems with my power steering in my 2015 gmc acadia. I have spent nearly $2000 having two power steering lines replaced, as well as having the power steering fluids flushed. Neither repair has corrected my problems. The power steering becomes very stiff at low speed's, for example in parking lots. In addition the steering is very noisy and makes a whining noise at low speeds. My service garage indicated i may need a new power steering pump (another $1500) ... My vehicle only has 70,000 miles. I've seen many similar complaints and know that gm has recalled some other models for this issue. When will the 2015 acadia be added to the list?

On september 4, 2018 i was getting on the highway when my steering wheel locked up and i hit a concrete barrier. The officer could not turn my steering wheel and the repair estimate guy said that when operating the vehicle to test the steering the power would come and go. The steering would be soft and when trying to turn, the steering would become difficult to operate. Most of the reviews that i read have the same issue but their models are older than mine. My acadia is a 2015 when is this safety hazard going to be corrected? it has been 8 years (2007) since this steering malfunction was discovered and my vehicle was put into production and gmc is still putting people at risk with their continued use of the same steering design, materials, assembly or whatever it is that causes this malfunction. Something needs to change in order to keep everyone safe.

Found leaks on driveways. Took it get an oil change and asked them to take a look they said they couldnt see anything leaking. Jump forward 2 months leak is larger on my driveway from a dime to size of a baseball. And my steering was difficult while driving i had no control causing me to stop dead in road with my 8 year old in back seat ...scary , my husband checked fluids and put in some power steering fluid and in morning fresh power steering fluid was found on cardboard took it to a body shop for minor body repair and asked if they would look into it to find the problem. The seal power steering pump to pulley is leaking. Not covered under any warranty i have or power train. Cost is about 1,300.00 to fix i bought this gmc in february 2019 from carmax i havent even had it for 4 months before it started leaking. Carfax on this has no major problems of any accidents. Looked up this problem and found 16 other people this same moth having same issues.

Power steering reverts to manual.this occurs generallyat low speeds when turning in any direction.this could be extremely dangerous if the problem occurred at highway speed.the problem feels like the steering is locked. I have read numerous complaints about this problem.hopefully we will not wait until someone gets killed before gmc issues a recall.

The steering wheel locked up while driving. I also was not able to turn suddenly. This could have resulted in serious bodily harm had i been going at a speed on a highway. There were no warning signs, no check engine lights, no malfunctions, the steering wheel just stopped working.

I noticed the other day when i was turning my steering wheel it was very hard.no light or warring at all. I checked my power steering fluid and it was full.i'm not able to turn the wheels when i'm not pressing on the gas peddle.i want to my local mechanic and he told me that there should be a recall on these cars.because he has replaced too many in the 2015 model.if i have them replace the power steering pump it will cost me $1000.this is not a good thing.i almost got into an accident, because i was not able to turn the wheel in time.thank god the other car moved out of the way.i have young children in my car everyday.

It has been since i bought the vehicle ... Car has 40k miles on it. Past month it started to become so hard to turn the wheel in parking lots and turns, that we were concerned for safety. Told power steering pump needs replacing.

When sharp turning at slow speeds, hear metal grinding. No lights on dash. Check under car and see leak at power steering. Not line but it is the pump. Level was empty but no lights come on. Look up this problem and see it is very common with hundreds of complaints including accidents from pump going out completely with no warning. No recall but hundreds of complaints for a 2015 vehicle is horrible. Mine has way less than 100,000 miles on it. Now i am having to take it to be repaired for $1000-$1500 because of warranty not covering it and no recall. This is dangerous and lives are at stake because steering will go out completely. We travel a lot with our 3 children for travel soccer on major highways going high speed limits and could have been killed or seriously injured if we didn't notice like others that didn't.

Vehicle started making grinding / squealing noises while driving when i turned. Steering was very tight and hard to turn wheel. Brought vehicle into shop and power steering pump was leaking. $1,100 dollars later my vehicle was fixed and i was told that i could have lost my steering all together if the power steering fluid was depleted anymore.

The contact owns a 2015 gmc acadia. The contact stated that the power steering failed. The vehicle was taken to cantin chevrolet (623 union ave, laconia, nh 03246) where it was diagnosed that the pressure hose and power steering pump needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 69,000.

About 6 months ago i started to notice an increase in difficulty with the power steeringon my 2015 gmc acadia. The problem continued to get worse. More specifically, when the vehicle was moving slow such as trying to park it the steering wheel with lock up. I took the car to my local mechanic and learned the power steering pump failed. I called gmc who advised they were aware of several reports similar to mine but told me the pump is no longer under warranty and there was no recall. The cost to replace the pump is in excess of $1,000

Power steering pump began failing on 2015 gmc acadia at 40,000 miles. At low speeds, it is impossible to turn the steering wheel and a 3 point turn has become a biceps workout. This is a very dangerous situation with kids in the vehicle.

My acadia lost power steering making vehicle difficult to steer. I could hear a whining sound i'd never heard before. We took it to the closest repair shop since we were on vacation. Serviceman said the power steering pump was leaking and not working properly. Called dealer, bowser, immediately could not get an appt for 5 days. Dealer inspected vehicle, concluded the pump was not under power train warranty and estimated it would be over $1,000 to repair. Same problem as recall on previous models.

Steering noise ...noise whining sound comes from steering colum when the vehicle in motion at low speed backing while turning into parking space or entering space..dealership @ winkelly gmc in clarksville, md cannot say with any certain what the problem may be ...but do admit there is a problem with noise from the steering wheel and other vehicles of gmc had been recalled but not this particular model....no warranty...dealer suggest to keep an "eye" on it...wait until the noise becomes even louder...

Hello, with only 50,000 miles on my one owner gmc acadia, the power steering system failed, leaving me stranded in the middle of the road (town street, however, still concerning as i could have been hit from the front or rear).per independent mechanic this is a known problem that gmc is avoiding. Since then, i have not driven car on highway for fear it will happen at a higher speed causing total loss of control.

While sitting parked, i started the vehicle.i put the vehicle in reverse, pressed the accelerator and as i was backing up the power stearing went out.i immediately stopped, turned the vehicle off, waited a moment, then started the vehicle back up and the power steering proceeded to work again.another time, my wife was driving and the power steering stopped working.she pulled over, parked, turned the vehicle off, back on, and it worked fine once again.

Everytime it rains the passenger floor gets wet. I can not see the water coming in. However, the mat and floor carpet is always wet after it rains, even if the front passenger door has not been opened or exposed to the rain. This has caused mold to grow on floor mat. This is an ongoing issue.

The contact owns a 2015 gmc acadia. The contact stated that power liftgate failed to open consistently while using the key fob. The dealer central buick gmc of norwood central buick gmc of norwood (866) 295-4674, was contacted by phone and stated that the vehicle was not subjected to a recall. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure however, no assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.

The contact owns a 2015 gmc acadia. While driving in the rain, water leaked inside the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to key buick gmc (4660 southside blvd, jacksonville, fl 32216) where it was diagnosed that the windsheild needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The failure mileage was 55,000. The vin was invalid.

I have goodyear fortera hl tires on my acadia and started having problems with them just at 1 month after i leased my car. The first problem was that i ended up with a major flat tire & it was just a big hole in the large tread. Since then the tires never hold inflation...all of them. I hydroplane when turning on roads that are only slightly wet and the entire car slides sideways. I now need to replace these tires at just 30,000 miles when the supposed mileage warranty is 60k.there was a recall for this exact tire but the production recall ended at just two weeks prior to when mine were produced. However, my tires are doing the same exact things that the recalled tires did and these should be included in the recall as well.the treads have cracks, splits and pits in them just as the recalled tires and have issues with psi/inflation as well.they are not safe to drive on and need replaced asap.

This could have been resolved under warranty, because at the time i had less than 36,000 miles but the car was at 38 months when the air conditioner went out and blowing warm air when the summer time temps were in the 90s. I took it to my gmc service dept and was told the evaporator needed to be replaced. The problem was it is a labor intensive repair that requires removal of the dashboard to get to the evaporator. $1500 later i now have cool air in the car i paid $40,000 for. After the fact i decided to search the web to see if this was a common problem, and it was. Barely 3 years old and the air conditioner needs major repair?? gmc should be ashamed of themselves! i have a 13 year old chevy trailblazer with 168,000 miles and the ac works as good as the day i bought it. So, is this the new normal for gm? not good enough that cars today cost what you could buy a house for not long ago.now they build them to self destruct one system at a time to keep the profits rolling in.

Since we have owned our vehicle we have had to make multiple repairs to the ac. Our transmission has been had to be fixed twice, and is currently still not working properly.

Tires. They are goodyear fortero 255/65/18. They are dry rotting in the center of the tire, they do not hold air well, there is only 33,000 miles on the vehicle.

Had car serviced at dealership 11/02/18 because engine light on. 11/07/18 started vehicle noticedrunning louder than usual, when i shut off vehicle, fan still running. Notice gas handle seems to fluctuate. Started vehicle, it made thumping noise, then shut off by itself. Engine light on. Started vehicle and it accelerated/revved high. Tried to start vehicle, made clicking sound but never turned/started, strong smell of gas. All instances vehicle was stationary.

I was driving to work on the freeway and all of a sudden i heard a huge pop that sounded like a gun shot when i looked up my sun roof glass was completely shattered for no reason. After inspecting my sun roof i noticed the glass shattered from within i initially thought it happened externally on the vehicle but did not i believe there isdefect in the glass i don't see how else this could have happened. In addition this is not the first problem i have noticed with the sun roof one day it was raining and i noticed that water had some how sept in from the glass this caused damage to my lining in the vehicle that now shows water damage. I did not think nothing of it at first but seeing this happen now makes me believe there was is a defect in the sunroof.

Power liftgate suddenly fell about 3 ft, hitting the back of my head. The liftgate then forcibly closed, pinning my hand. There was a recall for 2008-2012 vehicles to due faulty stabilus struts that cause failure. This is a serious defect that has already caused numerous head injuries, fractured hands, neck pain, etc. This recall needs extended and consumers need to know of the possibility. Lastly, the warning mechanism that gm claims is the presence of flashing rear brake lights and a chime to warn when liftgate failure occurs only happens after the gate fails, not before. The warning is of no use. Another consumer posted an exact same complaint in july 2021 for an acadia outside of the current recall dates.

Dropped off my car at the gmc dealer still waiting for a response and what's going on in my car would not start had it towed multiple lights on the dashboard including lock car remote would not start several things on light inside and also the radio would not turn off when the car was not running..do you to have a record on the blindside system don't know if this would cause any electrical problems with the car my truck was in the shop last week they told me it was a back order nationwide don't know if this caused a problem electrical problem or any issues with my truck.

Lift gate makes big clunck when opened

Gear selector can be changed without pressing brake or having keys in inhibition. My 4yr old switched the car into neutral and rolled it down our driveway into our garage

I have a 2015 gmc acadia with47800 miles on it and the ac is already broken. Since it's passed the 36000 miles the dealership wantse to pay for the repairs. How is the ac broken already on a vehicle that's a year old and less then 50000 miles?

While driving my 2015 gmc acadia the blind side safety alert for changing lanes not working and causing other gauges to read faulty also we had a dozen near misses cause of this defective feature veryunsafe.

Air conditioner don't work right need to charge it every year. There is a leak in the system somewhere.been a issue ever since i owe it and there is only 56,000 miles on this vehicle.

Rear lift gate when used goes up to a certain point in which you can start putting things into the car. Then it will slam down and then go back up and come back down in a forceful manner. When you attempt to control it manually it will close forcefully and yanked out of your hand. Biggest concern is if my kids were placing items in the car in which do realize things as quickly as an adult that it would crush my kids. After looking at all the information about this it has a recall open for the same thing in the 2008-2014 gmc acadia.

Air conditioning issue: within the first 5,000 miles, the rear air conditioning blower began to make unusual squeaking / vibrating noises. This continued intermittently for the until ultimately the entire car air conditioning system failed at 45,000 miles. The issue was brought to the attention of the certified gmc certified service center at 11 months of ownership/10,000 miles and 27 months of ownership/29,000 miles; they were unable to replicate the issue. At the 27 month visit the gmc certified service center (central buick gmc of norwood) asserted this would be covered if the part subsequently failed. Upon failure, that service center refused to honor that commitment.per gm service bulletin 16-na-046, the blower motor may emit brush dust that contains some copper particles. These particles could lead to accelerated corrosion to the auxiliary evaporator and a small refrigerant leak, which ultimately leads to failure of the air conditioning system.however, the gmc certified service center asserted that the failure of the system related solely to the failure of the rear auxiliary unit and entirely unrelated to any issues from that may have existed within the blower in contradiction to the service bulletin.

The suv starts to pull when gear switches to the next gear making my suv not change gear took it to a mechanical they say it's the adjust clutches it should be recall but it's not

Immediately after filling the tank with gas, i started the engine and it accelerated to full capacity. The engine had made clicking sounds, and other sounds when it started.

The contact owns a 2015 gmc acadia. The contact stated that the air conditioner only emitted hot air. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the compressor hose was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.

Rear window shattered. And needed replacement. Vehicle was parked at a service station.

When you turn traction control on the entire car shakes. Windshield wiper fluid will not come out. Passenger window will not roll up from driver control. Tire pressure monitor system has been out for time. This car is not that old for it to have all these issues

While driving in heavy rains, the passenger's side windshield wiper stopped working on my 2015 gmc acadia denali. The driver's side so far is still working. This occurred at the worst possible time in my area of massachusetts. We were experiencing heavy downpours and rain due to the remnants of hurricane florence. I contacted the gmc dealer, the associate advised it was not covered. I feel this is an extremely dangerous failure of safety on a vehicle that is only 3 years old. My visibility was diminished and luckily i was close to home. I did not feel safe driving because i didn't know when or if the other wiper would fail. I brought the vehicle to be serviced today.

The contact owns a 2015 gmc acadia. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, an abnormal sound was heard coming from the sunroof. The contact pulled over to a parking lot to inspect the vehicle, when the sunroof shattered without impact. The contact stated an unknown dealer was contacted however, no assistance was offered and the contact was referred to an auto glass shop. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and inspected but was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,974. *ln

Goodyear fortera hl p255/65r18 109s tires - my car was parked yesterday for a short time when the rear right tire deflated for no reason.the spare was put on the car and driven 10 miles home.today the vehicle was driven to the tire repair shop to be looked at because there was a straight crack in the center of the tread.as the car was slowed down to turn in the tire shop the left tire "popped" and deflated.upon inspection of this tire, the same straight crack in the center of the tire is confirmed.goodyear recalled this tire for this same issue and the tire needs investigated for additional production times.

All four of the goodyear tires that were previously installed had to be replaced earlier this year to cracking. Front tires kept losing pressure and then became flat, was advised by the dealership this was due to the tread cracking.
