While driving on the highway going 65 mph, engine light came on, then reduced engine power alert. The car went down to 8 mph and hard to steer.i was barely able to pull off on the side without getting hit.turned off the car (45 mins) as i was waiting for my spouse and when i turned it back on, it started without an issue. The engine light has come on a few times and then it turns off on its own.the car has shut down a few times when driving slowly - turning from a stop or in drive-thru.took it to the auto repair shop and mechanic was unable to replicate issue and find anything wrong with it.i also get the airbag sensor light turn on and off randomly.
There is a water leak every time it rains. Once i could not shut off my car had to take it to the dealership. Said the drain line for sunroof had debri and water was sitting on fuse box.water leaks in floor board. Yesterday, there is no sound in vehicle at all (no radio no blinking noise when blinker is turned on.)
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. While driving 25 mph, the driver's side and passenger side curtain air bags deployed without warning or impact. A police report was filed and no injuries were sustained. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where a gmc manufacturer representative inspected the vehicle. The failure mileage was 30,000. ..updated 02/03/17
"takata recall" - i have a service air bag warning light which stays lit
The service airbag notification came on as well as the airbag light. I have not been in an accident of any kind.
The "service air bag" light continues to go on and off. We have been to the dealer several times and they can't figure out what's wrong with it. They replaced one air bag 1st, fixed the contact 2nd and installed some kit the 3rd time. The light continues to go on for days and then go off. This started not long after i got the car. I will take it in again but there is something wrong they don't know about.
The service air bag soon light is on and the car only has 74,000 miles and has never been in a wreck. This is the same issue that there was a recall for earlier model year acadias up to 2013 and it is widely reported that the 2014s have the same issue; that the connector has to be resoldered for the airbags to deploy. This is a known safety issue to gmc and they are charging approximately $400 to fix a known safety issue. Now i'm going to have to pay $400 to get this fixed because it is not an included recall on the 2014s and i don't want my wife driving a car without airbags.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. Upon starting the vehicle, the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to berlin city nissan of portland (227 maine mall rd south, portland, me 04106, 207-390-8982) where the contact was informed that they were not equipped to repair the air bags. The contact took the vehicle to another dealer (bill dodge gmc buick, 2 saunders way, westbrook, me 04092, (207) 420-8987) where it was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 84,090.
I was hit by a ford f-150 that was going approx. 55 mph. It hit me on my rear driver's side directly by the back door and gas tank. I was the only passenger in the vehicle. None of the airbags deployed even though my acadia was spun and the driver's side door was impacted by the passenger's side door causing it to be unusable and unable to open. My head hit and shoulder the driver's side window and hip and left leg hit the driver's side door leaving pulled muscles and bruises and a slight concussion. Esis/gm told me that gm would is not responsible for the airbags not deploying due to "being hit incorrectly by the other vehicle".
On saturday evening august 3, 2019 my wife, who was driving our 2014 gmc acadia, reported to me that a red air bag warning light and the message "service air bag" came on and remained on while driving. On sunday august 4, the warning light and message went off during the day when i was driving the vehicle, but later came on when my wife drove the vehicle during the evening.on monday august 5 while i was driving the acadia, both the warning light and message "service air bag" came on and stayed on while driving.on monday august 5 i drove the acadia to a gm dealership as soon as it opened.the dealership said there were two diagnosis codes for two separate failures relating to the air bags.the first was code b0022 (which the dealership said was related to a wiring failure).the dealership advised this failure code of b0022 was covered under warranty pursuant to gm special coverage adjustment number 15804.the dealership said that the second diagnosis code was b0058 (which the dealership said was a failed sensor).the dealership said that both of these problems needed to be fixed in order for the airbags to work.the dealership said, however, that replacement of the sensor was not covered under adjustment 15804. The dealership did offer a discounted charge for replacement of the failed sensor and as of this writing the vehicle remains at the dealership to make all repairs necessary for the air bags to work. I have advised the dealership of my intention to report the sensor failure issue to ntsb so that ntsb and gm are aware of it.i have also reported the above to gm customer assistance and am awaiting a return call from a "senior advisor".i have also requested that gm cover all costs relating to the sensor failure as well as the wiring failure as i have been informed by the dealership that both relate to the failure of the air bag system.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. The contact stated that while her son was driving 40 mph, the vehicle struck a curb and all the air bags deployed. The contact's son did not sustain any injuries. A police report was not filed. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 115,000.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 14v614000 (electrical system) by serra buick gmc cadillac (12300 30 mile rd, washington, mi 48095, (586) 331-2540). After the contact retrieved the vehicle, the air bag warning indicator illuminated. Serra buick gmc cadillac (12300 30 mile rd, washington, mi 48095, (586) 331-2540) diagnosed that the air bag sensor needed to be updated. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 97,725.
My "service air bag" light and warning came on and we took it to a mechanic who stated it is the wiring under my drivers seat causing the warning light.the light first came on a few days ago when i turned my car on and we have since discovered the light will go on and off if i move my drivers seat forward and back, but this is a temporary fix as the warning light stays on in the seat position i need to keep it in for driving.this is the same issue as the recalled 2008-2013 gmc acadia.mine is a 2014 and not a part of the official recall, but clearly this is the same issue and needs to be recalled and repaired at the expense of gm.
The service air bag light just came on this gmc has been well maintained and clean no damage at all to the car it just came on , i googled it and have seen complaints apon complaints about it but nothing done i put my children and girlfriend and myselfin this car and it makes me sick to my stomach now to know the airbag or something is wrong
Service airbag notification remains on due to unrepaired sensor. I paid the dealer once to make the repair and the service notification came back on a year later, but they want to charge me for the repair again. I have not been in a major accident so i'm not sure if the airbags will work. However, this has been a concern. I purchased the vehicle brand new from the dealer and this problem began within a few years. However, they refuse to help me without charging me hundreds of dollars.
We have had the vehicle back to the dealer 3 times for items related to the air bag system recalls since 2015. At one point we were asked to turn the car off and see if the light goes out once the car is re-started. Well, the air bag light is back on and once again it won't go out. I am waiting for it to randomly deploy while my wife or myself are driving it.
2014 gmc acadia went abruptly into what they call limp mode. The engine lost power, with a massive shutter throughout the vehicle, numerous warning lights on dash, saying reduced power, low voltage, traction control/stability control and check engine light. I have done some online research and seems to be a big issue for the acadia! a recall to general motors is in order so all these safety issues get addressedas soon as possible. There are stories that the dealers have fixed them but a week or two later the issues returned. Please help us
The air bag light will constantly come on and go off. Sometimes it will stay on for a day, week, month.i received a letter from gmc about the problem but they will only fix the problem if the vehicle is under 72,000 miles.i bought mine used at 82,000.i don't understand how this is not a safety recall.was told by tech, when i called to see how much to fix, that if the light is on and i have a wreck the bags won't deploy.letter states that the problem is the "pretension wire harness connectors experiencing intermittent high resistance".this problem has been happening ever since i bought the vehicle used in july 2015
Service air bag soon comes up 30 or more times a day and struts are making noise
Started the car on a rainy day and the airbag light came on and a message displayed "service air bag". I turned the car off and started the car again and the message and airbag light stayed on. I have searched several forms where several consumers are having this same issue.
"takata recall"message air bag comes on. I took my car to the dealership and they said it was caused by the driver side airbag connector had high resistance (code b001e-0d). Dealership removed airbag connectors, traced wired, and spliced wires together. This is the same issue i read about for the 2013 acadia models. My acadia is a 2014 model and we had to pay for this repair out of pocket. I feel that we should be re-reimbursed for this repair, it was very costly for the dealership to just cut and splice wires.
Starting vehicle air bag light came on and stays on.
Air bag warning light is on.the light stays on all the time.
"service air bag" light came on. Dealer made wiring repair to a sir module and replaced a sir system sensor for approximately $530. Immediately after picking the vehicle up from the dealer the "service air bag" came on again.the dealer was able to find a "bulletin" from gmc advising technicians tocorrect problem by soldering some electrical connections.this appears to have solved the problem.this seems to be a substantial design flaw and serious safety issue for a mission critical system where reliability is paramount.this part does not rotate, it is not subject to any unknown wear and tear, there are no preventative maintenance actions provided by the manufacturer.it also appears that gmc has not adequately advised their dealers and technicians that this deficiency exists and what the proper corrective actions is without exorbitant costs to the consumer.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. The contact stated that the air bag warning light remained illuminated. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 28,000.
While driving my acadia south on interstate 5 in washington, the dashboard "service air bag" light came on, and would not shut off. I took the car to my gmc dealer. The service department told me that there were no recalls, the factory warranty had expired, and my extended warranty did not cover airbags. I am quite disappointed that this electrical problem is not covered and will cost me over $400.00 to have repaired. The dealer said the cause was a problem with the connections under the passenger seat, that the gmc technician had to cut and resolder the connections and reattach them, in order to solve the problem.
The airbag service warning came on while driving on highway.please assist asap, we drive our children in this vehicle.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. While the cruise control was set at 53 mph, another vehicle ran a stop sign and crashed into the driver's door of the contact's vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained a fractured rib, a bruised heart, left thigh, and hips, a broken left arm, and cuts and lacerations from the glass injuries. Medical attention was required. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000.
"service air bag" light kept coming on and staying on.took to dealership we purchased from and they told us the problem was under the seat and he reconnected the wires and told us if it happened again that they would replace it.it happened over and over.if you move the seat, it would turn on or off.took to dealership to have it replaced but instead they told us that was not the problem that it was in the door.we paid the $450.00 and 7days later the "service air bag" came on again.we are taking it back tomorrow.this issue, to me, is a big safety issue.if an accident occurs, and the airbags did not work because of this not being fixed correctly....could cause a death. This began in late 2019.it comes on at start up, or while driving down the road.it comes on anytime and has stayed on and unable to clear it until we figured out to move seat and it turns itself off, sometimes.
The passenger side seatbelt warning chimed to indicate a passenger was not wearing a seatbelt and the passenger airbag on/off light toggled back and forth when no passenger was in the car in the seat. This resolved spontaneously by the next day, now the service airbag soon notice and warning light is lit up on the dashboard. The car has not been in any accident that would cause the airbag to deploy or activate.i see that a previous recall was announced in 2014 for the 2009-2013 models of gmc acadia, but my specific acadia is a 2014 model. There are no active recalls listed for my vehicle, however an airbag malfunction is a serious concern for gmc acadia owners. This issue just started and i have not visited a dealer yet.
I'm getting service air bags on my 2014 gmc acadia.there was a recall on airbags previously for this vehicle from 2009-2013 but not this model.i've read enough complaints on the airbags failing and this is a safety concern that needs to be addressed.this car has not been in any accidents or flood damage.there should be no reason why i should be getting service air bag message
Service air bag light has been going on and off for a couple weeks. As of 4 days ago it has been on and stayed on. I've been told that it has something to do with the sensor in the seat and from research it looks like this is a very common problem in this vehicle
Vehicle was stationary and in motion display read airbag malfunction warning light.took vehicle to randy marion gmc in huntersville, nc to be fixed.electrical connecter problem "due to corrosion " was "fixed" only to have error light come on again 24hrs later.this is a new vehicle with only 24,000 miles on it and is garage kept.randy marion gave is a loaner vehicle and was going to order new connectors for the airbag.we dropped truck off on saturday, december 12th and finally had it returned to us the following friday afternoon, december 18th "fixed again."this morning, driving family to the store, my father-in-law said that his seat was not stable.we discovered seat was not bolted down and returned truck back to randy marion buick-gmc.service manager apologized and said it was an oversight and not bolting the seat back down.waiting to get our truck back in working a safe condition.terrible!!!
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. The contact stated that she saw the air bag indicator light illuminate in her vehicle. The contact recieved an email for recalls alerting her for the takata air bags however the vin tool showed no recalls.the dealer bryner chevrolet, inc.1750 the fairway, jenkintown, pa 19046 (215) 886-3140 did not see the air bag indicator light illuminate and could not duplicate the issue. The contact stated that she did not know if the dealer did anymore diagnostic work to check the issue. The issue recurred again recently with the air bag light illuminating. The manufacturer stated that there were no recalls. The vehicle was unrepaired. The failure mileage was 85,000.
Service side blind detection started going off then the side blind detection stopped working completely. Now the entire electrical system is not working correctly and was told the side blind detection monitors can cause the entire electrical system to malfunction.
I have experienced my airbag light going on for the last several years.due to it being out of warranty, i took it to my personal mechanic to get it repaired.it turned out to be a harness under the driver seat.less than a year later, it happened again and this time it was the harness located under the right front passenger seat. This has been replaced twice and the light has intermittently appeared again the past 3 months
Vehicle slid on ice off the road at a relatively slow speed (15-20 mph).the vehicle went into a snow embankment.because there was minimal if any impact; the vehicle did not have even a scratch on the exterior. However all the airbags in the vehicle deployed. This includes the drivers side, the passenger side, and all curtain airbags on both sides all around the vehicle.the front passenger airbag hit the passenger in the forehead causing a small contusion. We had 2 glass bowls on the back seat behind the driver that didn't even move, further substantiating the lack of impact. Gm has had a history of issues with airbag deployment in their vehicles and we feel this is an incident of a faulty deployment.had there been a child in the backseat the situation could have been very different and had a very bad outcome related to the airbag deployment in this situation.
There are hundreds if not thousands of 2014 acadia owners having a service air bag light come on and wont go off. There was a recall for all acadia's of 2013 and earlier that had a recall to fix this dangerous issue. 2014 needs to be included in this recall. This is a safety hazard and possible death upon impact issue if airbag doesnt go off due to gmc's negligence in dealing with the same issue previous models had.gmc could face lawsuits if someone is killed due to this issue on this year acadia.its approx $500 to fix and is a consistent problem across many owned acadias.my car has never been in an accident or had the airbag deployed. This needs to be dealt with immediately.
Air bag warning light in the display intermittently comes on and remains on for several days to several weeks then clears for a period of time then repeats.have not been able to replicate the issue when presenting for diagnostic repairs.
Car says to service air bag and when i take off at times or put it in drive the car pulls on me like the transmisinis slipping
While driving, both a service air bag message and the airbag readiness light are periodically displayed on the instrument panel and do not reappear when the engine is turned off and back on. After a full diagnostics check completed at the dealership, the technician indicated that the warning messages are due to faulty connections in the wiring harness that need to be re-soldered to ensure a proper connection.
Drivers seat air bag was replaced 2 months ago after service air bag light came on. Service air bag light came back on today.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled at various speeds. In addition, the service air bags and service front camera warning indicators illuminated. The contact also stated that the hazard lights failed to illuminate. Rogers auto group chicago (2720 s michigan ave, chicago, il) was made aware of the failures. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.
After start up (while driving or with vehicle at rest) service airbag notification pops up and remains on dash center notification area along with airbag system light on dash. Dealer wants over $1,000 to repair something that should be covered under recall or warranty special coverage. This type of very common occurrence shouldn't be limited by a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty. Owners manual states that air bag may not deploy. Gm customer service number claims that the system fault will not prevent air bag deployment, but i wouldn't trust that girl on the phone to be able to change her own wiper blades, let alone explain the functionality of the airbag system. Gmc needs to issue a recall for this problem that people are having at alarming rates with their 2014 gmc acadias. This is not limited only to the 2013 and older gmc acadias.
For the 3rd time in <1 yr, the airbag light came on. The 1st time they had to replace the passenger side air bag,lay 15k miles, the 2nd time, they repaired the electrical connection at 19k miles, this last time they had to replace the tensioner kit at 22k miles. These air bag issues should not be happening this often when i've only had the car for 15 months and bought it new.

There was a recall for all acadia's of 2013 and earlier that had a recall to fix this dangerous issue. 2014 needs to be included in this recall. My car has never been in an accident or had the airbag deployed. This needs to be dealt with immediately.
Service air bag light went on and off for a few weeks, then it went off for a while, and came on again and stayed on. Drivers seat air bag was diagnosed as being the problem and was replaced.
Service aig bag light has illuminated.from the research i have done, when this occurs, it disables the airbags from functioning when the vehicle is in an impact collision.it appears that there was a recall on gmc acadias for this issue through the 2013 model.this is an on-going issue with the acadia that results in a potentially life threatening safety feature not working.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. The contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated.the vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the switch needed to be replaced.the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure.the failure mileage was 10,400.the vin was not available.
First, 2 days after we purchased the car, the engine light came on. Then the front camera needed service and the side warnings stopped. Then the seat heaters quit. The fobs both quit working, would. It properly unlock the doors.we got an airbag needs service warning. A check gages warning. A service tire monitoring system warning. Finally, the engine locks up and won't start, turn over, or anything. Several hours later, the car starts. Then it goes through the whole cycle again over the next few weeks til it doesn't start again and leaves us stranded. Again. The first time, the mcdaniel gmc service department changed out the battery and believed that would fix it. We paid $190 for that. It didn't work. It went through the same cycle again within a month. Now they expect us to pay to have he module fixed, even though they knew there was a recall for it when hey sold it to us.
I purchased this vehicle used in april 2017, but a few months after i purchased the vehiclei started having a light on in the dash saying "service air bag". I've tried ignoring it & hoping that there would eventually be a recall because the vehicle no longer had a warranty, but we are about to take it in to get it serviced. After searching the internet i am finding that many other people with acadias have had this same issue & have had to take their vehicle & pay to get it serviced. I've also read where there were some accidents where the airbags did not deploy. I have researched only to find out that many gmc models were recalled for the same issue, but it was for year models previous to mine (including but not limited to the year before mine). I have a friend who has the chevrolet traverse (which is the exact same vehicle as mine, just with the chevrolet name) & she had the exact same problem that i'm having. Is this not a safety issue? please research this. It is not coincidence that so many people have had this problem! this light comes on at all times as soon as you turn on the car. I have read where some have had faulty wiring under the seat that had to be re-soldered.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. The contact stated that while driving 35-40 mph, the air bags warning indicator light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to phil moore buick gmc (5728, i-55, jackson, ms 39211, (601) 376-9934) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the wiring underneath the front driver's seat was loosened and needed to be adjusted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 33,000.
So when i have only had this vehicle for two months now and this morning when i left for work the "service airbag" light and warning display came in y. I have attempted everything to have it go off that was recommended by other acadia owners. Nothing had worked ...i have read several complaints about the exact same thing and feel that because to be addressed by gm. I do not think that i add a single mother and grandmother should be out 590 to 600 dollars for something that is obviously a malfunction that gm cannot get right. Period is in the prior vehicles.
Air bag service code shows up. It can be removed briefly by moving the seat back and forth. I did some research and this is similar to the recalls for older years previously issued with the wiring harness causing the air bags to malfunction. This is extremely dangerous and is well known on many car complaint sites. Why has nothing been done? thank you.
Service air bag warning indicator on the dash. I've had my car right at a year when the warning came up on the dash. Upon researching i've noticed several people are having the same issues as close as two days ago.. My car has a little over 77,000 miles on it.
Timing chain/belt. Suv is making a loud rattle when turning vehicle on. I got this issue "fixed" last yea right at 79,000 miles. Warranty paid for it. 20,000 miles late i am having the same issue again, rattle noise, engine light on, air bag light is on. It worries that this will be a major if it gives out while i am driving with my kids.
I have approximately 67000 mile on my car and today the service air bag light came on off and on i will put fuel and and the gauge still reads empty or half tank takes restarting car many times before reads accurately also passenger seat belt alarm will go off when no one is in the passenger seat
Battery gauge is reading between 16 and 17. Dealer said it was the battery having some type of leak so the replaced the battery for free. The gauge is reading the same so the service guy tells me it's the normal range. I looked it up in the book and that is not the normal range. It states to take it to the dealership and have them check the electrical. So i'm supposed to enlighten them on what they should have known from the beginning? very aggravated because now i go back tuesday of next week for the recall problems and now this. It's like a dog chasing his tail. They sure all run to you when they want to sell you a new one but give you the run around over something they should know. Guess they assumed me being a woman would just accept that answer. This isn't my first rodeo.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. While driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled and the instrument panel illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that an unknown electronic module was corroded and needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v614000 (electrical system). The failure mileage was 33,000.
My acadia has shut off without warning multiple times. Today, i was in a parking lot picking up a prescription.the car was idling while i was waiting in the pick-up lane and then shut off.the dash remained on and gave the following warnings: traction control off, engine power reduced, service stabilitrack.i tried to restart the engine only to have the car shutter violently while idling. I turned the car off again and then restarted for a second time.this time it restarted as normal and the check engine light came on.i have taken it to a dealer 4 times since october as it has shut off while driving and making a turn.the dealer says there are no codes in the diagnostics and cannot find a problem.i'm terrified to drive the car.i saw a recall from 2014 about an electrical short but i don't know if that was already fixed on this vehicle since i bought it used.i also don't know if this is even related to that recall.
My headlights stopped working while i was driving on a highway. I pulled off the road & the drl led lights around the headlights were still on, but the headlights were not. I tried turning the lights off/on, tried turning the vehicle off/on. My husband checked the fuses, relay, & sensors, as well as changed both bulbs and they still will not work. It was dark while i was driving, which posed a dangerous situation. Upon researching online, there seems to be other people who have had the same problem.
The gears sometimes does a hard push when changing gears automatically. The dashboard light keeps turning off and driver can not see the speedomotor etc.
My car is on his 4th battery since i bought it. Something keeps draining the battery. Two trips to the dealer and they say all ok.today after been the 4 days ago, the battery is dead as gain. It does take charge. Can i apply for the lemon law,i wonder.
I purchased a used certified 2014 acadia 4 months ago. Since the second week of having it the truck shuts off for no reason.happens when driving at a slow rate. Examples are pulling out of driveway, after being stopped at a stop sign, driving through a parking lot, going up or down an incline. The truck stutters and either shuts off or catches itself. I have brought it to the dealership more than 3 times and it's never fixed. My vin is not listed in the stalling or ignition switch recall. It started intermittently but now it's everyday although dealership says they can't duplicate what i'm describing.it has stopped at a stop light and i had to hurry up and hit the hazard lights so i had time to put it in park and restart the engine. However as long as i'm driving on the freeway it's fine. Just when i'm going less than 35 mph.
Side blind zone alert feature is not working.this appears to be a common failure due to either defective sensors or module.estimated cost to repair is over $800.
There is a known problem with the control modules for the driver safety/assist systems and gm sent a letter indicating that they would repair vehicles that met a certain mileage and age criteria.my vehicle did not meet these criteria.the fault drained my battery and i had to have it replaced and the dealer indicated it could be $5000 to fix all the other issues associated with the faulty control modules.as a result, my wife has now has no blind spot monitoring/indicator, the forward/rear crash monitoring/alert system doesn't function and all of the the other proximity/safety systems don't function either.in addition, other electrical issues are now starting to surface and the garage door opener no longer functions.i am scared that this may lead to a serious electrical malfunction, short, or fire that could cause a serious safety issue.as a result, i recently purchased a new vehicle for her but i am now driving the impacted vehicle.
"takata recall" on tuesday june 19 i had pulled into my driveway just before my garage with my two small children. I put the car in park and got out to unload and prepare to transfer my one kid and then the other. Itwas 100 degree weather so had to keep the car running. After a minute or so being in park, my car began to drive forward with no one behind the wheel. My car drove off my retaining wall and landed vertically with my children suspended in their car seats. Emergency officials responded. I have video and will hold off fixing the damage of vehicle so that the feds can investigate. Gmc also would like to take a look at it. Please let me know where to submit my security footage.

Since the day i drove my acadia off the lot there has been a "click" that occurs which sounds like it is coming from the engine that can be felt under the gas pedal when the vehicle is about to shift into 2nd gear, but only immediately after starting the vehicle and never again when switching between 1st and 2nd gear until it has been turned off and restarted.the noise it makes sounds like a marble rolling on a wooden floor for about 1-2 seconds and then click and then the gear shifts.the dealer said they didn't hear anything but i do as well as other passengers do every day.additionally, when turning the vehicle at a slow rate of speed and then accelerating, the engine slams into gear when between 10-15 mph but only after a turn and an attempt at acceleration.also, my acadia is not a vehicle under the "faulty gas gauge" recall however once my vehicle is below 1/4 tank the needle on the gas gauge will jump from 1/8 tank to 1/16, back up to 1/8 of a tank all while driving on flat roadways. Concurrently, the range for the fuel on the digital screen goes from 95 to 58 to 72 all while driving with cruise control on at a consistent speed.lastly, the vehicle has the denali grill which leaves minimal airflow from the engine compartment.up to three hours after turning the vehicle off (in a cool garage) you can still feel the heat coming from the engine compartment if you place your hand in front of the grill.could this be a possible fire hazard?all of these issues began when i purchased the vehicle with 60 miles on it and continue now at 15,500 miles.i drive frequently and can tell you that i do not feel safe in my vehicle but am unsure what to do as the dealer has told me there is nothing wrong with it.the only recall for my vehicle is the seatbelt issue but i think there are serious engine problems with this vehicle that need to be addressed by gm.
Engine reduced power. Vehicle will no longer start.i was driving and lost power while driving. I pulled over even though power steering was not working.had car towed to conley automotive, wimberley, tx.diagnosis from conley said faulty fuse box. They said it was a technicalservice bulletin problem. I input my vin# onnhtsa and foind recall on ecm, electronic control module. When i spoke with the service dept at chuck nash chevy dealership , they said no recalls were noted on my vehicle.i am extremely upset that this in fact is the issue with my car. How do i add my vehicle to the safety recall?
Side detection system malfunction
A code p1682 -ignition switch circuit will pop up. I've had the problem for a year, the vehicle will seem like it doesn't have a lot of power at times. The engine light will come on, reduced engine power and traction control off. The battery voltage drops below 13 . I have changed the battery, alternator, throttle body, gas pedal sensory. It does all of that while driving, and starts to stall on me. That code popped up once last year and i took it to the shop and they said it wouldn't come up and it's doing it a lot more. I have did research and have seen many issues with a fuse block and ignition switch.
Traction control sensor turns on-service stabilitrak-engine loses power-car dies while driving at any speed. Turn the car off wait for awhile and sometimes it will turn over and everything is fine. The issue is slowly happening more often and taking longer to start back up.
The fuel gauge drops to e when you still have approx 1/4 tank of fuel.there was recall for this but it seems it does not cover my vehicle by vin.
Fuel gage continuously shows full then a few mins later empty even after filling up take, gage shoes tire levels in accurately, lights will flicker and won't shut off after turned off completely, driver seat continues to wiggle loose even after tightening back over and over, when vehicle isn't sitting in park on after about 30minutes or so it will begin to shake, sputter then finally stall reguardless of accelerating to restart it will still stalk when driving for awhile the vehicle will randomly jerk forward while driving and feel like it loses power while driving as well even after i took it to a certified mechanic and having a sensor changed(which a diagnostic test indicated was wrong) along with an oil changewe also noticed that the recalls that were listed prior to us purchasing the vehicle should've been addressed weren't we notified the dealership they said they'd look at those recalls from then but we would have to pay for them at our own cost and that the recalls and issue sales we had talked about weren't listed so at this point we're unable to take the family vehicle too far from home considering we live 30 mins outside of tucson, we have four kids and my husband is a disabled veteran we even stated to the dealership we needed a dependable vehiclethank you for your time
While driving, the stabilitrak service message came on, then tracktion control displayed. The car then stalled, while doing 70 on the freeway. Almost got killed trying to get to the right lane. Had to turn off ignition (and open the door to kill the electrical circuit) to reset the car to drive it. The car also does this at idle. It will randomly mis-shift and feel like a chain was hooked to my bumper and broke off. Super scary, life in danger for sure. This has happened 3 times in the last 24 hours. I just bought the car 5 days ago.
Takata recall my vehicle is experiencing total system electrical failing, it started with a rear collision module and now it is other system like; airbag lights, windshield wipers, blingers, radio, etc. I have read that this is a common problem but no recall, we need help!
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. The contact stated that the side detection system activated every time the vehicle was started. Also, "service side detection system" illuminated on the message center. In addition, the turn signals did not operate internally, only externally. The vehicle was taken to beardmore chevrolet (418 fort crook rd. N, bellevue, ne 68005) where it was diagnosed that there was a harness that failed and needed replacement. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was advised that the vehicle exceeded the mileage to qualify for the extended warranty under bulletin number: 16-na-178 (electrical system). The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 91,000.
"takata recall" crank issue. Car wouldn't start after driving to local rural king. Dealer brought charge pack and got it going. Will be taking it in for testing. Acadia was parked and locked before entering store wouldn't start on return to car to leave.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. The contact stated that the liftgate failed to remain open without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the liftgate actuator motor control software needed to be updated. The contact's child suffered a minor head injury that required medical attention. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 15v415000 (structure); however, the vin was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 40,147.
While traveling approximately 75mph the service traction control light came on followed closely by the low oil pressure stop engine immediately light. We attempted to travel to a more safe area along the interstate. Within seconds the engine immediately shut off causing the loss of power steering and power brakes. The steering wheel locked in place causing the total loss of steering control. We were able to bring the vehicle to a safe stop, i would attribute this success to my being a defensive driver instructor and transportation safety professional. The risk associated with the issues we were faced with could have easily ended in tragedy especially at this speed (75 mph, 80 mph zone)the diagnosis of the vehicle was inconclusive due to the number of codes that were shown. The vehicle was no longer functional and had to be replaced. No documentation, other than the bill for towing is available. Diagnosis was done at no charge.
My fuel gauge occasionally registers as empty even after i fill the gas tank.this typical happens if i let the fuel go below 1/4 tank.this has happened since the first 30,000 miles and i was told by the dealership there was no recall or safety alert for this condition.it gradually goes up as i drive.it is my understanding this is a common problem with this vehicle and model year.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. While driving 40 mph, the vehicle began to vibrate and the traction control, electronic stability control, and check engine warning lights illuminated. The contact mentioned that the vehicle failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The contact also stated that the vehicle had to be restarted in order for the failure to stop. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed, but the cause of the failure was not found. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 24,000.
Car was parked in driveway, doors shut, key in ignition.approached car to get in (possibly touched the door handle) and car beeped and locked itself with keys inside.this is the second incident.the first happened several months prior in dealership when car was being serviced.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. While driving various speeds, the vehicle experienced a series of electrical failures related to the computer screen. The contact stated that the odometer dashboard warning indicator illuminated, the turn signals became inoperative, and the side mirror blind spot detectors failed. In addition, the rear cross traffic detectors failed. The contact suspected that the chassis module within the vehicle was faulty. Crippen buick gmc (8300 west saginaw highway, lansing, michigan 48917, (517) 627-8411) was made aware of the failures and stated that the battery may have been faulty. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
Air bag service code shows up. It can be removed briefly by moving the seat back and forth. I did some research and this is similar to the recalls for older years previously issued with the wiring harness causing the air bags to malfunction. This is extremely dangerous and is well known on many car complaint sites. Why has nothing been done? thank you.
Bought car brand new 8-14. Since i have taken into dealership over 5 times regarding it stalling, and complete shut down while driving. First car would shut off when in reverse. Car turned off completely multiple times sitting at red lights. Then while i was driving 35 miles on residential street i had complete failure, car turned off. Was able to restart and drive. Car takes a couple seconds to turn over when first putting key in. Noticed recall in 10-14 for exact issue but gmc dealer in concord ca says my car is not included in it. Interior lights go on at random along with headlights. Gas gauge in "miles" reading on dash lowers by 20+ miles each time i drop kids off at school 5 miles away. Each time i have taken it to dealer, dealer stated they are unable to duplicate the events, no warning codes are showing and they can not find what's wrong with the car. Shocker. Brand new cars do not operate this way and these issues are very serious as deaths could occur when car shuts down while driving. Taking it to dealer again.
On one, approximately 200-mile trip last year, the electrical system in our acadia completely went out (including all guages, turn signals, etc.) three separate times.we were driving on interstate roadways, and the vehicle could still be driven.the system rebooted each time after a few minutes.ultimately, my wife ended up stranded as the vehicle would not start due to electrical system failure after she had parked it during a separate trip.our gm dealership informed us that the rear object detection modules had corroded, and that "everyone has this problem."the corrosion caused a cascade failure or the entire system, which is definitely a safety hazard.gm replaces these modules with non-corroding ones now, after we paid $992.52 to have them replaced.i contacted autumn at gm customer service, and she said that there is now special coverage for this problem that began on 4/2/19.however, our vehicle is over the 80,000-mile warranty for this problem.
Please help us
When turning on the car it immediately gave a check engine light, began violently shuddering, and ran "service stabilitrak" "traction control off" and "reduced engine power" warnings.we have taken it to 2 different dealerships and they keep telling us nothing is wrong with the vehicle.we have even called gmc service line directly and explained that this occurs while we are driving the car and the vehicle will sometimes completely shut off.this time the vehicle was parked and initially turned on.we restarted the car and it took two tries before it appeared to start "normally."the check engine light is still on.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. The contact received a notification for nhtsa campaign number: 14v614000 (electrical systems). However, the parts needed for the recall repairs were unavailable. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact had not experienced a failure.
Turn signal intermittent while driving both stationary and moving. Side impact warning system failure.
In 2016, a gmc dealer sold me, and attempted to install, an update for my "infotainment" gps system on my 2014 acadia denali. The result was loss of vehicle usage on three separate service dates totaling 15 days.the reason for several service dates was caused by the gps software and the inability to not only download the gps update to the "infotainment" system, but in the process, it caused damageto the entire "infotainment" system; including, navigation features, the hands-free use of ones' cell phone, voice commands, and radio/entertainment systems, as well.the electronic damage required the repeated replacement (3) of the entire "infotainment" system when gmc determined that the gps update software was the problem. While one would expect gmc to immediately correct the problem, it has now been three years since the vehicle was manufactured with a gps system that cannot be updated.to date, gmc has been unable to provide a gps update; only emails apologizing for the inconvenience with unreliable moving target dates stating when the update will be available.it is ironic that i must resort to the use of a dependable, readily updated $300 portable garmin gps for my extensive travels around the country.for those of us that must travel, i suggest a alternate make/model vehicle that has a more responsive manufacturer, and serviceable vehicle accessory systems.
About a month ago my car started losing power when driving. It often happens when entering or exiting the highway. The last time it happened was yesterday on the highway off ramp. The car loses power and a message comes on saying service stabilitrak traction control off engine power reduced, the engine idles rough and i cannot get back up to speed. I have to stop the car completely, turn it off and wait 20-30 seconds then turn it back on. I have taken the twice to the dealer and they cannot find a problem.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. While driving various speeds and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle stalled without warning. The failure recurred on numerous occasions.the contact also mentioned that the check engine warning indicator illuminated while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the failures were unable to be duplicated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v614000 (electrical system). The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.updated 04/05/17*ljcontact stated that the problem have been solved and case could closed.
The module for the side blindzone alert notification system, back up camera, tv's/dvd's quite working after it went through the car wash. When taken to the mechanic it was said itmodule was filled with water. Attempted to have this address in april of 2019 and now other things are getting worse! side mirror lights always on.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. While driving 75 mph, the engine power reduced, service stabilitrak, and traction control off warning indicators illuminated. As a result, the vehicle stalled and completely shut off. The contact mentioned that the failure occurred three times. The contact also mentioned that the headlights had to be replaced eight times within one year. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the vehicle had an electrical failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 77,000.
Battery goes dead overnight. Tested for continuity. Short in the system. Something is draining the battery overnight. There was a recall last year. Shop said they did not have the part. I forgot about the recall
Car shut off while driving. All electrical went out. Doors all locked while inside, key stuck in ignition. Started with side detection warning and within a few days car completely shut off while driving! huge safety issue! will not restart and still can't get key out of the ignition. Battery is fully charged but no power. Completely dead. There is a known recall on 2014 gmc acadias for electronic module failure but not our specific vehicle though this seems to be the exact cause of our problems. Gmc said they could not help?!
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. The contact stated that there was premature rust and corrosion near the rear framing as well as corroded wiring in the vehicle. In addition, the vehicle stalled and was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that there was extensive rust and corrosion on the wiring harness. The red and white wiring was frayed and caused the wiring harness to rub against the exhaust pipe. The damaged electrical wires caused a failure in proper voltage due to the failure. The dealer diagnosed that the electrical wires and the wiring harness needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 42,000.
Upon entering the rear passenger side of the vehicle, the contact realized that the air condition was blowing out hot air. The contact drove the vehicle to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician found the system to be low on freon and the vehicle had an air conditioning leak. The technician recharged the system and added dye to determine the origin of the leak. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 20,079.
The electrical issues continued despite hundreds of dollars checking various problems. The fuse block was replaced and for a month things were fine, but the car is still experiencing constant check engine light, difficulty starting, doesn't stop right away when turned off, random stalling, you nameit. It feels like a death trap.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. The contact stated that the air conditioning function failed to work properly and there was extreme heat due to the failure. The vehicle was taken to two dealers: (1) 1st liberty gmc in peoria, az and (2) desert sun gmc in alamo gordo, nm. The first dealer noticed a leak, replaced a line, recharged the system, but the failure continued months later. The vehicle was taken back to the first dealer who repeated the same solution, which provided no remedy as the hot air continued to emit from the air conditioner. The vehicle was taken to the second dealer for further diagnostic testing. The contact was uncertain if the manufacturer would be able to provide a solution to the dealer to repair. The manufacturer was to follow up with a response within 48 hrs and the contact was waiting for a solution. The failure mileage was not available.
Service side blind detection started going off then the side blind detection stopped working completely. Now the entire electrical system is not working correctly and was told the side blind detection monitors can cause the entire electrical system to malfunction.
Side blind zone alert module failure.side blind zone alert is intended to signal the driver of objects in the blind spot when changing lanes.this 2014 acadia has a malfunctioning module, resulting in the alert light remaining on in the side view mirror.there is also an error message in the instrument panel.gm refuses to apply existing n172097060 special coverage adjustment to this vehicle, despite meeting the make, model, year, and specific problem related to the module.
My wife was driving at highway speeds (70mph) on the interstate in chicago when without warning her cluster lights appeared and her vehicle lost propulsion (stalled, stall, died). She had no warning and the area had no shoulder for her to pull off into so she had to come to a complete stop in the right lane of the highway. People are doing speeds well above 70mph, i would hate to think of what could have happened if a person or line of vehicles could not change lanes in time; very serious injuries and possibly death for all invovled. Fortunatly, she had the sense to put the car in park (highway lane) and completed a key cycle thus restarting the vehicle and then obviously accelerating quickly to get out of harms way. As people are swirving out of her lane and honking at her. I put our vin into the nhtsa site and see the vehicle has no outstanding recalls. Then i search just the model year and come across a recall (14v-614, gm recall number 14515) that appears to be the same issue we may have had. In the vehicle information section of the 573 it lists:descriptive information : 2014 gmc acadia production dates : jun 27, 2013 - sep 26, 2013plugging my vin into a vin decoder, i see that my vehicle was built july 26, 2013; this falls within the suspect time of this recall. Why have i not been notified of this recall? why is the nhtsa tool not show my vehicle as being affected? this could have been a very a tragic ending. I hope you (nhtsa) reach out directly to gm to figure out why my vehicle was not included in the recall. Why my wife was put in harms way.
While driving on the highway my car began shuttering and the warning system went off stating the traction control had gone off. Then it said engine power reduced, service engine, and service traction.the car began shaking and immediately slowed down.i pulled over and turned off the car. Upon restarting the car i received a message that said traction control on.but the engine light came on.this is the second time this has occurred.the first time it happened i took my car to the dealership to which they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it.after doing a google search today, i found that this seems to be a common problem in gmc acadia and i am shocked that it hasn't be reported/recalled. In retrospect, i have noticed that sometimes when i accelerate, the car will fail to shift gears in a timely manner and jerk forward when it finally does so. I was on the highway with all three of my children in the car when this happend!
My acadia has forward collision warning system and has not ever worked to provide any warning at any speed or under any conditions. I had a gmc terrain with the same system and it operated as defined in every circumstance. The acadia, could literally be driven into another vehicle at any speed without any warning from the collision system.
Side collision lights in mirrors came on solid amber, and computer message stated to service side collision system, went to gmc dealer , they had to replace two modules located under rear bumper, part # 22960672, $243.39 each. Dealer stated cause was water damage, 12 days out of warranty and only 21000, miles on vehicle. Dealer would not cover under warranty, stated recall for problem but no longer in effect, this is unacceptable for a car this new. Called gmc, they stated. They would not cover due to the fact i paid for repair. Explained i thought this was a safety issue and needed to be fixed to drive. Gmc denied claim.
2013 gmc acadia. Has problem with the fuel gauge not accurately displaying correct amount of fuel. *tathe consumer stated the fuel gauge was 1/4 gull. After driving less than five miles, the low range warning displayed on the dashboard and the gauge needle was at empty.
The steering two days prior to the incident was really tight and hard to steer as is there were no power steering the vehicle two days later broke down on the interstate i went from 70mph to 30mph within seconds was almost rear ended the seat belt jerked my shoulder it jerked so hard when the engine reduced power due to what the message on the dash said was a traction control system failure i spent 1600 getting the power steering pump, water pump and what they said was a loose wire causing th traction control problem fixed just for the car to break down again with the same traction control system failure message the car slowed down so quickly i hit the steering wheel with my seat belt on and the breaks were very hard to push i had to crawl to a stop almost got rear ended again and no steering this car is not safe there should be a law suit
While driving to work this morning going around the curve the vehicle lost power.the stability, traction control and engine light all came on. I had to maneuver my vehicle oout of harms way to ensure my daughter was safe. My speed went from 55 to 20 in less than 10 seconds. Loss of power on any vehicle is scary but this is is very serious and something need to done to rectify these vehicle issues. Please take a look into this issue before some is injure or killed. Thank you.
There is a problem with the ignition coil failure. The vehicle design has close proximity catalytic converters can result in accelerated contamination for the un burned fuel entering the catalytic converters resulting in engine or converter assembly failure
Was backing up on a driveway and was next to a car and apparently was closer than i thought and hit the car because my side detection system is not operating and no sensors or warning sounds went off. 'service side detection system' is on my dash.
Throttle body replacement: check engine light comes on while driving the vehicle, then a message displaying "engine power reduced, service stabilitrak." then vehicle immediately slows down and cannot travel above 30 miles per hour. Took it in to the local gmc dealer service department, who pulled the code indicating it was a throttle body issue. Charged us $120 to clean the throttle body, only to have the problem resurface hours later. Now waiting for replacement throttle body part to arrive, which they insist will solve the problem for roughly $350 parts and labor.shop also informed us problem can be temporarily circumvented by turning off the vehicle, then turn it back on. Often the engine will no longer be in reduced power mode for anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes, then will throw the message and repeat the issue.
I have approximately 67000 mile on my car and today the service air bag light came on off and on i will put fuel and and the gauge still reads empty or half tank takes restarting car many times before reads accurately also passenger seat belt alarm will go off when no one is in the passenger seat
There are hundreds if not thousands of 2014 acadia owners having a service air bag light come on and wont go off. There was a recall for all acadia's of 2013 and earlier that had a recall to fix this dangerous issue. 2014 needs to be included in this recall. This is a safety hazard and possible death upon impact issue if airbag doesnt go off due to gmc's negligence in dealing with the same issue previous models had. Gmc could face lawsuits if someone is killed due to this issue on this year acadia. Its approx $500 to fix and is a consistent problem across many owned acadias. My car has never been in an accident or had the airbag deployed. This needs to be dealt with immediately.
8/28/18 - vehicle unexpectedly had jerking/shaking at around 40mph with various service messages - stabilitrak, traction on, traction off, and all wheel drive. Traction skid light illuminated. Once above 40 mph, no more jerking. Speedometer was flying up and down intermittently as well. Once parked and shut off for an hour, i started vehicle and no issues. Drove it to repair shop and they were unable to replicate the issue. It definitely felt like the vehicle wanted to stall. Now i'm nervous to drive it because i'm sure it will happen again unexpectedly. This occurred on local streets with 45 mph speed limits.
Twice in the past week i have had the same problem with the stability track sensor turning off while driving.when this happened the engine power decreased.when trying to get the vehicle off the road, it was like i had lost power steering because it was a fight to turn the wheel.prior to this we have also noticed that when the vehicle shifts gears, quite often it is a very hard shift to the point it shakes the whole car and feels like it is stalling. Not sure if that is a transmission issue or something to do with the fuel injection.
May 2016 vehicle displayed, flashed engine codes and warning lights, then stalled on freeway, restarted and displayed service sensor traction control system.due to an electrical short ignition coil was replaced. February 14, 2017 on freeway vehicle stalled, restarted and dash displayed service sensor traction control system, traction control system is off.vehicle was shaking, driving rough and misfiring. Code po300 in ecm history.misfire history showed all cylinders have misfired but cylinder 6 had 11000 misfires set in history. Due to an electrical short ignition coil 2.170 was replaced, at my cost.
I was traveling on the highway at about 70 mph in the left lane and the engine began to sputter like it was going to stall.it dropped my speed to 60 without warning.i had a vehicle behind me going the same speed and had to quickly move to the right to avoid getting hit. The check engine light came on and the traction control / stabilitrac turned off.brought it to the dealer and they told me i was using the wrong gas.they cleaned carbon out of the intake valves.i have put gas in it twice since then, at shell, which is what they told me to use.it happened again today 12/9 when i was going around a corner in the rain.this time it said service stabilitrak and service traction control with the check engine light flashing and the engine sputtering.i had been going through a puddle at the time so i almost lost control of the vehicle.called the dealer and they told me they had no record of me bringing it in on the 21st. I am bringing it back to them on the 15th because that is the first time they will have a loaner available for me. I am now afraid to drive my car because of the danger of sliding and losing control. I have no warning of when this is going to happen and i have not been able to pin point it happening at any certain mileage or such.very scary when it happens.
My vehicle will tell me to service stabilitral, and that traction control is off. It intermittently does this and goes away once vehicle is turned off and back o. However it is very dangerous bc the car then stalls, has a hard time accelerating, and hesitates/stutters as it tries to accelerate. Mainly does this when driving more than 20 miles on highway.but sometimes in city environments. It sounds very familiar to another recall. But it does not appear with vin as a recall
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. While driving approximately 55 mph and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle's speed decreased after the service stabilitrak and service traction control warning indicators illuminated. The contact continued to drive the vehicle with the speed decreasing while driving up hills. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. But was not diagnosed or repaired; however, the mechanic stated that it appeared that the throttle body was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred on one other occasion. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 14,000. Updated 09/01/2015*ljupdated 10/14/2015*15
My wife was driving the car around 40mph on surface streets. . the vehicle's traction control, electronic stability control, and check engine warning lights illuminated. The car restarted but would only go about 20mph and the dealer said itwould be safe to drive it to the dealership. The dealership diagnosed the problem as a high pressure fuel pump at 60k miles. The cost was $945 and it seem to be fixed but too expensive for a car with only 60k miles.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. While driving on the interstate approximately 50 mph and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle's speed decreased after the service stabilitrak and service traction control warning indicators illuminated. Vehicle started jerking and would accelerate. Contact continued to drive the vehicle with the speed decreasing while driving down the interstate. I came to a stopping point and turn off the engine and restart it then the service traction control and service stabilitrak warning went away. The vehicle has not been taken to dealer for diagnosed nor repaired. It seem to be doing it more often now.
My service traction control and service stablilitrek comes on while i'm driving which is very because the car jerks when trying to drive at a certain speed. And when i go around a curve the stablilitrek active come on and the car makes a humming noise.
The vehicle shuts down without warning at various speeds. From 5mph-70mph. This happens erratically and without warning. It results in an immediate loss off all power.
While i was driving my car in traffic, the green car indicator light came on and slowed down my speed to a complete stop. I pulled over and allowed cars to go around me as i tried to restart the vehicle, 3 times, and itwould not start. I called onstar to see if they could do a car check and told me nothing was wrong. After an hour of being stuck on the side of the road with a car that would not start, onstar got me a tow truck and towed me to the dealer ship. The dealer ship at first could not figure out what was wrong with the car and tried to see if it was the indicator light, after 3 days the called me and informed me that the battery had a bad cell which had caused the cars system to shut down immediately while i was driving. They gave me a new battery and that cleared up that problem. I am very concerned with this happening to someone on a highway, imagine if someone could not control there car and speed while doing 70 mph in the fast lane, this could easily cause a car crash!!! i was fortunate to be in a neighborhood only going 25 mph but it still could have caused a accident since there was cars behind me. It was a scary situation as i realized i had no control of my car, please make people aware of this because i have heard of gm have more bad batteries!
While driving at @35 miles per hour the vehicle completely and abruptly stopped.

The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to jim curley buick gmc of keyport (400 nj-35, keyport, nj 07735) to have a diagnostic test performed. The technician retrieved failure codes: p0018 and p0021 showing that the timing chain and camshaft actuator were no longer performing properly. The contact was informed that the timing chain needed to be replaced. The contact also wanted to state that the vehicle was taken to same dealer several times for the engine light being illuminated however, the dealer cleared the engine codes under the vehicle warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was 44,547.
During evening rush hour, the car stalled out completely while going approximately 75 mph on a mild incline on the highway.gas gauge said approximately a quarter tank of gas.all power steering was lost, but i was able to drive the car to the shoulder of the freeway.a service truck put approximately 5 gallons of gas into the tank, but the car would not start and i had to be towed to dealership.head of gm dealer service said nothing wrong with car and they could not replicate problem, and that the thing with this car is that you can't drive it on an incline with less of a quarter tank of gas or it might stall.sales rep at dealer shared similar story of 2014 acadia stalling on him but as he told us, he was fortunate he was only going 25 mph.
Engine light keep coming on
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. While driving 40 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. It was diagnosed that the compressor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 50,000.
While in motion, the vehicle feels as if it miss-shifts.it does not matter whether it is on a highway or city streets, from time to time, it will feel like the suv pulls back or "skips a beat."
Engine continued running after key turned to off and then removed
I was traveling on the highway at about 70 mph in the left lane and the engine began to sputter like it was going to stall.it dropped my speed to 60 without warning.i had a vehicle behind me going the same speed and had to quickly move to the right to avoid getting hit.
I was driving at roughly fifty mph when engine shutoff and put vehicle into neutral to pullover avoiding rear end crash by semi truck i attempted to start vehicle but vehicle engine locked without any warningi called dealer and towed into service and it was something internal in engine and told to wait for more info.
My 2014 gmc acadia shuts off from time to time while driving down the road with no warnings and there is no active codes on a scanner no check engine light comes on when this happens radio keeps playing and dash is still lit up but engin is not running this results in a loss of power steering and the brakes not working properly once you get the car off the road and turn the key the car starts back up and continues to run normally this has happened two times to me in about a 3 week period not sure what the issue is but i googled the problem and found a lot of the same issue every time this issue occurred it was while turning on to a busy street. I feel someone is going to be seriously injured or killed do to this problem
Motor cranks for an extended period of time when starting and engine runs rough for a few seconds after starting.also vehicle has an odd smell when this happens.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. The contact stated that the engine failed to start and several messages illuminated on the instrument panel, including the service traction control and engine power reduced warning indicators. The failure recurred. The contact called west pat o'brien chevrolet (440-249-6296, located at 25100 detroit rd, westlake, oh 44145) and was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 59,000.
Please help us
The gears sometimes does a hard push when changing gears automatically. The dashboard light keeps turning off and driver can not see the speedomotor etc.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. While driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. Once the vehicle was restarted, it returned to normal operation. The vehicle was taken to art moran buick gmc (29300 telegraph rd, southfield, mi 48034, (800) 224-2570) to be diagnosed, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact to call nhtsa. The failure mileage was 125,000.
Traction control sensor turns on-service stabilitrak-engine loses power-car dies while driving at any speed. Turn the car off wait for awhile and sometimes it will turn over and everything is fine. The issue is slowly happening more often and taking longer to start back up.
On 08/17/14 at approximately 15:30, i was backing up in my driveway from a major roadway and my vehicle suddenly lost all power, steering and brakes. I looked at the driver information center and it said something like "power loss" and "battery". I was in too big of a hurry to put it in park and restart the vehicle and get out of the road to concentrate on what it was saying. I signed a lease for this vehicle on july 3, 2014 and actually was told after i signed all the papers that my vehicle was one that was involved in the ignition recall and to please drop it off at this dealer on monday, july 7, 2014 so they could replace the ignition. On monday, july 7, 2014, the dealer picked my vehicle up from my workplace, i'm just down the road. I picked my vehicle up on my way home. From that time forward, i noticed occasionally i was unable to turn the key in the ignition. Like sometimes when your steering wheel is just wrong. After a few attempts, i was able to start the vehicle. This happened maybe 5-6 times.on 08/18/14, i tried to contact my salesman and he is on vacation until next monday. I have not called the dealer back yet to report this, i am at work.my motivation for reporting this is that the ignition was replaced because of the recall. Now, i don't know thatis the reason for the power failure on saturday, but i am suspicious of that replacement ignition. It's a brand new vehicle!
I was returning from a doctors appointment and stopped to pick up my son's prescription. I turned to check on my son, who just turned one on sunday, and saw his face was extremely red. I was confused because he was so warm and i had the a/c on blast. Apparently the back of my new denali acadia 2014 was now only blowing warm air. I shut off the rear air rolled down the windows and fully blasted only the front a/c unit. I lived only 3 minutes away so i raced home and got him out of the vehicle. After a few minutes he woke up and started to appear his normal self. I went back out to the vehicle and retested the rear air not working. After i confirmed it i called the dealership where i purchased my vehicle. I have been looking this issue up on the internet and it appears to be quit common. Without my motherly instincts and former training my son could have possibly died from heat injuries in my brand new vehicle. I am extremely disappointed that this is even an issue i have to also worry about. Gmc needs to get this issue resolves before someone does lose their child(ren) to this heat issue.http://www.acadiaforum.net/index.php?topic=12405.0http://boardreader.com/fp/gmc_acadia_forum_acadiaforum_n_9340259/problems_recalls_tsbs_faqs_links_how_tos_10202903.html.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia.
I purchased this vehicle 2 months ago and have had to separate change the headlights on it twice already. There is a common issue with the electrical system that makes the headlights go completely out or dim while driving or in idle at times.
2014 gmc acadia headlights do not shine out far enough to see the road ahead or to each side when turning. I feel like i have a dark hood over the top part of my eyes and this hood "bounces" as you travel--very distracting, irritating, and unsafe. When driving at night, i always have my fog lights on, but even that does not help much. When driving on a hilly, curvy road, it is impossible to see the road ahead & sides--scares the heck out of me! i love this acadia, but refuse to drive it on a trip when i know i will be driving at night and would be scared to death if it would rain at night--so we take our other vehicle on most trips.i have found other complaints about the acadia headlights for the 2013 and 2015 models. Also found many complaints about the 2014 gmc sierra 1500 pickups that sound just like my concerns.i have complained to our local dealership a couple times and will continue to do so. Surely gmc will wake up and realize that these headlights create dangerous nighttime driving conditions.this is a safety issue that needs to be addressed!
Tail lights/brakes light/blinkersthe light kit cover seals break allowing water into the light kit.water collects and shorts out the bulbs causing a dangerous hazard when rear lights fail to work in the proper manner.i have called to several places and am being told, yes, gmc has a defect on their rear tail lights.seals were not done very well and supply cannot keep up with demand.the lights are over 300 each which is absolutely ridiculous.a part that is necessary to keep one safe and be able to signal to other drivers should not be this expensive when the manufacturer did not build a good product.
The gears sometimes does a hard push when changing gears automatically. The dashboard light keeps turning off and driver can not see the speedomotor etc.
Service side blind detection started going off then the side blind detection stopped working completely. Now the entire electrical system is not working correctly and was told the side blind detection monitors can cause the entire electrical system to malfunction.
Two separate warranty claims. Dealer did replace all tail light assemblies- once on normal warranty claim, the second incident (lhs only) on customer satisfaction basis.issue>rear tail light lens clouds up with condensation / water to the point that stop light visibility is affected.approx 50% of the lens is covered internally with water droplets and condensationpotentially violating fmvss safety standard for visibility. Apparently the lamp assembly is not sealed and permits water intrusion. Condensation does not clear upadequately- in my case after 16 miles of driving or leaving the suv outside overnight.response from dealer: gm issued a letter stating warranty claims will not be honored for water condensation on tail light lens.
Vehicle headlights abruptly stopped working. Headlights are in auto running lights position, but will not turn on. No headlights available, only option to use is fog lights. This occurred after 9 pm on a highway, creating a serious safety hazard. Vehicle brought to 3 different mechanics shops and no problems with headlights were detected, no problems with fuses, computer or battery detected, no lamps needed replacement. Two months later no solution found. The vehicle is not operational during poor weather or after dark.
Headlight illumination is limited and prevents driver's ability to see upcoming road conditions, curves, elevation, animals or humans in the road and hazards. Without turning on the high beams.there is a distinct cut off of light at the top of the area illuminated that is not commonly seen in other vehicles and this limits how far ahead you are able to see.

2014 gmc acadia denali.consumer writes in regards to inaccurate fuel gauge reading.the consumer stated on april 28, 2014, the fuel gauge was at 1/4 full. After driving 30 miles, the low range warning displayed and the gauge needle was at empty.the consumer stated 30 miles could not have used 1/4 of fuel. Whenhe went to fill the tank, the fuel gauge was back up to 1/4 full.
My car ran out of gas without any warning.i looked up my vin number and its not included in the recall however it should be included.i've been driving for over 20 years and never ran out of gas before.there is an issue with my fuel gauge and gmc is not recalling my vehicle, and considering gmc's recent past regarding recalls i believe gmc is continuing this trend of not recalling the vehicles that it should.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia.while parked, the fuel tank gauge indicated a half tank of fuel.five minutes later, the fuel tank gauge indicated it was empty.the vehicle was taken to the dealer, but they could not diagnose the cause of the failure.the manufacturer was notified and they stated that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number 14v223000 (electrical system, fuel system, gasoline), although it experienced the same defect listed in the recall.the failure mileage was 10.
2013 gmc acadia. Has problem with the fuel gauge not accurately displaying correct amount of fuel. *tathe consumer stated the fuel gauge was 1/4 gull. After driving less than five miles, the low range warning displayed on the dashboard and the gauge needle was at empty.
I was driving to go meet my husband for lunch when all of a sudden my vehicle started to jerk and turned off.i turned out of traffic onto the first side street i found.onstar found my location and sent a tow truck.despite my vehicle reading i had 1/4 tank of as, i had actually ran out of gas. I have never ran out of gas in a vehicle.several other times my gas hand would read inaccurately.for instance, my hand might show 1/2 tank of gas, but all of a sudden it would jump to 3/4 tank of gas.despite having my vehicle repaired 4 different times for the fuel issue, the dealership says that mine is not being recalled.i decided to add my issue with the vehicle because i believe, like some of the other complainants, that gm is still hiding what is truly wrong with these vehicles.this whole situation is sad because i use this vehicle to drive my children to school.i think gm is still not doing the right thing by their customers.i have other electrical issues with this vehicle.for instance, just last week my navigation system wouldn't come on.after pulling over and turning the vehicle off and then back on again, it started working again.i 've had this happen also when trying to use my trunk and bluetooth. I also have an issue with the fact that gm thought the problem was so significant that they issued a stop delivery on the 2014 acadia due to the fuel issue and other problems including the seatbelt, but they do not think it is significant enough of a problem for people who already own a 2014 acadia to stop driving it. I think gm needs to think about the safety of its customers and families and be truthful about the recalls and what is really wrong with these vehicles.
Fuel gauge reads inaccurately and system registers fuel tank empty at around 1/4 of a tank.
I was driving at roughly fifty mph when engine shutoff and put vehicle into neutral to pullover avoiding rear end crash by semi truck i attempted to start vehicle but vehicle engine locked without any warningi called dealer and towed into service and it was something internal in engine and told to wait for more info.
Fuel gage continuously shows full then a few mins later empty even after filling up take, gage shoes tire levels in accurately, lights will flicker and won't shut off after turned off completely, driver seat continues to wiggle loose even after tightening back over and over, when vehicle isn't sitting in park on after about 30minutes or so it will begin to shake, sputter then finally stall reguardless of accelerating to restart it will still stalk when driving for awhile the vehicle will randomly jerk forward while driving and feel like it loses power while driving as well even after i took it to a certified mechanic and having a sensor changed(which a diagnostic test indicated was wrong) along with an oil changewe also noticed that the recalls that were listed prior to us purchasing the vehicle should've been addressed weren't we notified the dealership they said they'd look at those recalls from then but we would have to pay for them at our own cost and that the recalls and issue sales we had talked about weren't listed so at this point we're unable to take the family vehicle too far from home considering we live 30 mins outside of tucson, we have four kids and my husband is a disabled veteran we even stated to the dealership we needed a dependable vehiclethank you for your time
My fuel gauge occasionally registers as empty even after i fill the gas tank.this typical happens if i let the fuel go below 1/4 tank.this has happened since the first 30,000 miles and i was told by the dealership there was no recall or safety alert for this condition.it gradually goes up as i drive.it is my understanding this is a common problem with this vehicle and model year.
Started noticing the gas gauge wasn't accurate. I started out with 1/4 tank of gas and drove not even a mile and the low fuel light came on and the needle was on empty. Panicked and drove to the nearest gas station and i pulled up to the pump and my gas reappeared. Another time i filled the tank and drove approximately 5 miles and it went from full to 3/4 of a tank. Went in the store, came out and started it and it was full again.this has happened several times and once resulting in running out of gas although it showed there was gas. I now reset the mileage to zero when i fill up and know how many miles i should get to the tank and refuel.i spoke to the service advisor at my dealership and he told me it was a new fuel system gm was using and there wasn't a resolution for it. There has to be a resolution to this!
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. The contact stated that after the vehicle was refueled, the fuel gauge displayed incorrectly. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was unknown.
The vehicle shuts down without warning at various speeds. From 5mph-70mph. This happens erratically and without warning. It results in an immediate loss off all power.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. A local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. The contact stated that while turning at approximately 10 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The contact was informed by the tow truck driver that the vehicle ran out of fuel although the fuel gauge indicated that the fuel tank was 1/4 full. The contact mentioned that the failure was experienced multiple times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose a defect. The manufacturer was notified.the failure mileage was 9,000.
The acadia's fuel gauge just stops working and then starts again.the vehicle has a jerky motion when slowing down around any curves...like the engine has to catch up.
Rear door lock automatically locks when vehicle is placed in drive or locked via key pad. When attempting to unlock the rear door lock does not unlock and can not be opened from inside or outside of the vehicle.
Vehicle jerks and lurches when slowing to turn a corner, then accelerating, especially when turning left.the transmission seems to downshift, but pauses, then jerks into gear when upshifting when the gas pedal is pressed.this only occurs when i slow down to turn a corner (approx. 10-15 mph), then press on the gas pedal.the lurch usually happens between 15-20 mph.i've taken it to the gmc dealership where it was purchased several times, but they don't know what to do with it.they mentioned that it could just be the vehicle "learning," but it now has over 4000 miles on it.their latest thinking was that it was a programming problem, but they said that gmc has not created a software fix for the program, and therefore there is nothing that can be done.they told me that it is safe to drive, so i should just keep driving it.i've contacted gmc, but they just refer me back to the dealership, and they don't know what to do.there are similar complaints from others who are experiencing the same problem on www.acadiaforum.net.

Car was banging into second gear periodically since the day we got it as a cpo about two years ago.the dealer said it was normal.fast forward to last week when all of a sudden the car was bucking and slamming into gears and stalling out at lights.we brought it to the dealer and they said that the car needed a transmission and it was out of warranty.gm corporate did nothing to help with the cost and now i'm on the hook for a $6,000 bill.plus i have to find a rental car to wait for the back ordered transmission to arrive because of the strike.never again gm
While in motion, the vehicle feels as if it miss-shifts.it does not matter whether it is on a highway or city streets, from time to time, it will feel like the suv pulls back or "skips a beat."
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. While driving various speeds, the contact attempted to depress the accelerator pedal and the vehicle stalled for approximately 2 to 3 seconds and then jerked without warning. The vehicle was taken to desert sun roswell (1266, 2601 w 2nd st, roswell, nm 88201, (575) 625-1000) to be diagnosed, but no failure was found. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vin was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 82,550.
Vehicle intermittently shifts to a high gear when starting to accelerate or starting from a stop without pressing the gas. As a result, the vehicle starts to shake and sputter, much like what would happen if trying to start from a stop in 4th gear with a manual transmission. Check engine light comes on, traction control and stabilitrak error appears on the display. Pressing the gas simply makes the vehicle jerk. After a few seconds, the error corrects itself and everything clears. Unable to duplicate at will. Took to the dealership today after this has happened around 5 times in the last month; however, no error codes we logged in the computer. Service department unable to do anything. Updated 1/15/2016
As i am accelerating up any sort of incline, the vehicle strongly jerks until i apply more gas. The problem is occurring more frequently as i put more miles on the vehicle.
When accelerating between 10 and 20 miles per hour, something underneath the body of the car, moves in a circular motion and clunks underneath the gas pedal.this movement can be felt under the gas pedal and floor as well as heard.this occurs 80-90 percent of the time after starting the vehicle.the vehicle also shifts hard into gear at about this mph.the dealership has tested several acadias and found a gm bulletin on this event.the gm bulletin indicates this is a "normal" cycling of the abs brake system that occurs on the acadia and chevy traverse models.so far gm has been unwilling to resolve this issue, yet because it is a brake issue and is felt under the gas pedal, the safety of this vehicle is highly concerning to me.i drive a variety of vehicles for work and do not experience this rotation and clunk with any other vehicle.i am concerned about my safety.
120,000 miles while front axle is out and tranny jerks a lot.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 to 65 mph, the vehicle downshifted without warning. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to millers gmc located at 920 us-1, woodbridge township, nj 08830, (732) 596-7752, on three occasions and the contact was informed that the vehicle operated as designed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.consumer has taken the car to the dealership more than 8 times.
When stoped on a hill the transmission goes into neutral & the car rolls backward down hill when you take your foot off the brake to take off again. Took it to a gmc dealer &a they told us they drove a 2013 acadia & a 2015 buick with the same drive train as ours & both cars rolled back like ours so they determined it was "normal"! i was a ford tech for 32 years and never ran into a problem like this, i do not feel it's normal. What will happen if we roll back into another car or hit someone who walks behind the car?? this has happened coming out of parking lots near our house, & it happened on i 40 when we were going to texas for vacation there was an accident ahead of us & we were stuck in the hills outside williams ariz i had to drive with one foot on the brake & the other on the gas to keep from rolling back in heavy traffic. Thank you for your time
I was driving on a highway with the speed limit increasing from 35 mph to 55 mph.i was going about 35 mph.the car in front of me signaled to turn.i applied the brake and slowed down until the car in front of me completed their turn.when i moved my foot from the brake to the gas pedal and attempted to accelerate, the engine roared loudly, but the car would neither shift nor accelerate.i had traffic behind me, but i was not able to go faster than about 20 mph in the 45 mph zone.i took my foot completely off the gas pedal and allowed the car to coast for a few seconds.i was finally able to get the car to shift gears and eventually accelerate to keep up with traffic.i was worried that the car behind me would hit me, but they did not.i was grateful that i was not driving on a busy freeway or attempting to merge into heavy traffic as it could have caused an accident.
Vehicle drove backwards out of the garage while the transmission indicated that the vehicle was still in park. The vehicle accelerated and backed out if the garage on its on, no driver was in the car. The only thing that stopped the car was anther vehicle that was parked in front of our mailbox in which both were struck. I am not sure what went wrong, leaning into the car putting the key in the ignition. Turned around to talk to my son and when i turned back around i was caught by the door.the car dragged me down the driveway and also my son was struck by the car. I suffered a contusions to my right wrist, knee and leg, back pain on the right side, and contusion to the right ankle. My son suffers from bruises to the chest area and contusion as well in the chest area. His leg was also hurt.my daughter who was in the car complained of pain in her jar after the vehicle struck the other vehicle. At this time we have returned the vehicle to hendricks gmc of cary, nc were we originally purchased the vehicle awaiting diagnostics from the service department and collision center.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to shift into park. The contact stated that the key ceased in the ignition and would not allow him to shut-off the vehicle. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to a local dealer nor independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was relating the failure to nhtsa campaign number: 14v092000 (power train). The manufacturer had been informed of the failure and informed the contact that the vin was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 106,000.
I parked the vehicle and left it running with my mother in the car with her seat belt on.as she was sitting there the vehicle rolled forward on its own and hit a ford f150 parked across from my vehicle causing damage to my vehicle as well as the truck.i filed a claim with gmc and they had someone come to my home and run test on my vehicle and was told they could find nothing.after they finished the test ny locking mechanism is not working properly.
The module for the side blindzone alert notification system, back up camera, tv's/dvd's quite working after it went through the car wash. When taken to the mechanic it was said itmodule was filled with water. Attempted to have this address in april of 2019 and now other things are getting worse! side mirror lights always on.
Car says to service air bag and when i take off at times or put it in drive the car pulls on me like the transmisinis slipping
Was going to back out of my garage when i put the shifter into reverse. When the shifter was in reverse, it shifted out of gear on its own into drive and it went forward slamming front end of the vehicle into a refrigerator. Causing the refrigerator to be completely destroyed and the front end of the hood to become crooked. This is very dangerous and concerning as had their been someone in front of the vehicle it would have more than likely seriously hurt them or killed them. I have also had other incidents when driving the vehicle that it will shift from drive to low on its own and this happens frequently at least 3 times per week.
In short, the buckle spring or suspension disconnected or collapse. Went to buckle the belt in and it would not latch. There is a recall noted for 2014 gmc acadia seat belts and we are being told our vehicle that is a 2014 gmc acadia purchased 04/2014 is not within that recall. How does the buckle just disconnect? we've had cars older than this with absolutely no issues. Being charged $200-$300 for this. 2014 gmc acadia recall - #14v266000recall for seat beltsgeneral motors is recalling certain model year 2009-2014 buick enclave vehicles manufactured april 14, 2008, through may 14, 2014, chevrolet traverse vehicles manufactured june 6, 2008, through may 14, 2014, and gmc acadia vehicles manufactured april 9, 2008, through may 14, 2014, and 2009-2010 saturn outlook vehicles manufactured april 14, 2008, through march 18, 2010.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. The contact stated that the dealer did not have the part available for nhtsa campaign id number: 14v266000 (seat belts). The dealer did not give a specific date for when the part would become available. The manufacturer was also contacted and could not provide an estimated date for when the contacts vehicle would receive the recall repair. The vin was not available. The contact did not experience a failure.
I purchased a 2014 acadia that was part of nhtsa campaign number: 14v266000.the car was delivered to me without the recall being performed.this is in direct violation of the stop sale notice on the recall.the dealership now wants the car back asap to fix the recall, but the are still in direct violation of the law.gm is arrogant and denies that this can happen in their system.gm's system needs to be fixed as well.i have emails and voicemails that back up this information.
General motors has announced a safety recall for this vehicle. The number for this campaign is 14187. Gm considers this defect serious enough to issue a "stop sell" for the affected vehicles. Nhtsa regulations provide the manufacturer a "reasonable" period of time to notify owners. Define reasonable! in 21 may 2014 gm refused to provide me any information with respect to resolution. On 22 may 2014 the dealers had not been informed of what actions would be required. In this day and age, for a defect serious enough to result in a stop sell order, there is no excuse for this level of delay. If my son is killed or injured as a result of inaction by gm or nhtsa, the consequences will not be pleasant. Also be advised i have yet to receive notification of gm recall number 14007 announced on 05 may 2014. I demand more timely action from nhtsa and gm with respect to recall number 14187. Conduct yourselves accordingly.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. The contact stated that the vehicle was serviced under nhtsa campaign number: 14v266000 (seat belts). However, the dealer cut off the top piece, leaving the cable without a cover. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The vin was not provided. The failure mileage was approximately at 8,000. The vin was not available.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. The contact stated that the service air bag warning indicator light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to penske cadillac of south bay 18600 hawthorne blvd, torrance, ca 90504 (310) 697-1800 where diagnosed that connector underneath the seat needed to be replaced due to high resistance. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The contact stated that the failure was similar to service bulletin 10057064-3254. The failure mileage was 56,000.
The seats for the front driver and passenger are not ergonomically correct. The push the passengers head and neck forward into an unnatural posotion. This happens at the with theheadrest fully up, down, forward or as far back in position as it can be mived. I am currently experiencing neck pain. I have no issue with lower lumbar support. I have spoken with many i dividuals in social media that have the same issue with this car and the 2014 buick suv.
The 2014 gmc acadia slt1 has the latch safety system on captains chairs only, not on the 3rd row seating. If you have two car seats occupying 2nd row captains chairs you can not fold the seats to access the third row.this is a surprising design flaw; considering the vehicle targets families.
I have had my 2014 gmc acadia denali for a little over 6 months. Since that time i have driven a significant number of miles. A few months ago i started have neck pain and i could not adjust the seat head rest to a comfortable state. On november 14th 2014, i had an er visit after the nerve pain in my arm was so severe i could not stand it.on december 22nd 2014 i had to have surgery for a herniated disc below my c6 vertebra. Because it was causing nerve pain in my arm and loss of strength. I have seen other complains online with these neck rests and complaints of injury in the gmc acadia vehicles. I have contacted my gmc dealer and gmc customer complaints and there is no solution.the problem, is the head rest come too far forward and do not lock in place. They can be pushed forward and back without depressing the button. Also the head rest to not adjust up with enough height so i can not adjust the head rest up enough for my 6' 3" height. I wish gm would take this problem seriously.
In a rear end collision'another car hitting us, we were just beginning to move when the light turned green,he was coming behind us at a high rate of speed'the passenger seat came forward almost throwing me into the dash, then flew backwards, collapsing into the seat behind it.i did not know about this being a problem until i saw it on tv about child safety in the rear seat.if anyone had been in the seat behind me they would have been seriously injured. Surprisingly, i was not injured.the car was totaled because the rear was so damaged it could not be straightened.
Car only has 52,000 miles on it and the abs, brake and traction lights have repeatedly come on. The issues has caused the lost of cruise control and high rise of my abs system not working due to a wheel speed sensor failing. The car shouldn't have this issue when this little of mileage on it. The car started this all of sudden as i was driving one day when i was driving it on the street and once the car is in gear on any street surface.the risk of losing my abs has caused my not to want to drive it. I am not the only person with this issue. Many have reported on different forums of this issue at a low mileage. No car should have this sensor issue "if that is what it truly is" at this yearly of its live span and low of mileage.
In order to stop my vehicle i'm having to apply a lot of pressure to the brake. On several occasions when i'm driving it sounds like the brakes attempt to engage on their own and make a scrubbing sound.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. The contact stated that while driving at 50 mph, the vehicle accelerated independently without warning. In addition, the steering wheel and the brakes failed. The contact also stated that the heater motor fan increased in temperature and the radio volume increased. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician informed the contact that they could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 24,000.
Brake booster is bad on 2014 gmc acadia
I was driving on the freeway with my 4 children in the car. As i was exiting the freeway i suddenly lost all ability to steer my car. I was almost hit by a big rig because i did not know what was happening and no indicator light was displayed on my dashboard. The car was almost impossible to steer at slower speeds. I was put in an extremely dangerous situation. My car only has 45,000 miles on it. The dealership says my warranty is only good for 36,000 miles. Research has shown this is a very common defect with gmc acadia vehicles and they have not issued a recall and the problem seems to occur just after their standard warranty ends. The steering pump is defective and the cost to fix is over $2,000.

Power steering failed - no dash light, dip stick hidden under plastic engine shroud, no fluid showing. Almost caused serious accident while making a right turn at intersection then failed completely on the next turn to the right. Now the steering without the pump is seriously difficult to turn, especially at slow speeds or going down hill.
On march 15, 2017 our 2014 gmc acadia spontaneously lost steering power assist as i was making a turn at around 10 miles per hour.the vehicle regained power assist 15 to 20 seconds later.for the next several miles, it appeared to lose the power assist only when at low idle and otherwise drove fine.i did some research on-line and this problem appears to be somewhat common for this make and year but i cannot find any recalls for it.
At about 53,000 miles the power steering starting making a loud whining noise and a grinding noise when wheel was fully turned either direction. The power steering stopped working when the vehicle is at a stop of slow speeds and makes a buzzing, whining sound all the time. The steering feels very unstable when at freeway speeds winding around any corners. I feel this could be a serious safety concern due to the loss of power steering and the unstable steering at high speeds feeling like you are going to lose control of the vehicle on a curve.
My suv that i like very much recently started having issues while turning. After researching online it seems that this is an ongoing issue with gmc acadia models. This could easily cause a wreck and is a safety issue when driving.since there are alot of reports for this issue i thought that there would be a recall , unfortunately when i searched my vin no recall was found. There are alot off issues with this model and problem therefore it should be covered by gmc.

My steering fluid pump broke and the tube had to be replaced both leaked.car made noise when turning corners. Complained to gmc but they refused to take responsibility.
I was driving on i-10 for around an hour when my steering wheel made a slight turn to the right and completely locked up. The road was wet so i didn't want to slam on my brakes. I was trying as hard as i could to try and turn the steering wheel but couldn't. I tapped the brakes 2 times and then had to slam the brakes as hard as i could or i would have hit other vehicles. My car started spinning and then crashed head into the guardrail. I hit the guard rail so hard it ripped up the concrete and bounced my vehicle back into the interstate. Another vehicle pulled over and was trying to help me get my car off the interstate but neither of us could get the steering wheel to turn. It was still locked up turned to the right. My husband was a few vehicles back and he pulled over and was also trying to turn the steering wheel to get my vehicle off the interstate. After yanking on the steering wheel and tires as hard as he could, it finally made a big pop and then the steering wheel and tires were free so we could turn the wheel to get my car on side the road.
While driving coming to our destination stop, at bout 1000ft left, my 2014 acadia just started shaking, and misfiring and losing power. On the steering column, the notification states, traction system light came on, and check engine light.we then came to a complete stop and put in park, then started driving again and went off after 2-3 minutes.then powered off and check engine light remains, and others off.
While driving around a corner on either side, the steering wheel has a jerk and roughness to it. Fluid checked out within the operating range. Shortly thereafter a leak started on the right side next to the power steering pump/rack and pinion. Mileage is around 43000. Huge safety concern after reading about the steering issues that others have had.
Steering failed at highway speed causing near accident when steering stiffened up.felt like there was no power steering.
45,000 miles. 2014 acadia slt2 awd. Power steering failure. Fluid driven power steering is failing, loud whine noise from hydraulic fluid pump. Fluid is full. Steering is very hard to turn,no power assist especially at slower speeds or at a stop. Slightly better if raising engine speed above 2500 rpms
Nearly got in an accident while i was moving on a city street. There only a couple scratches but it happened because the gear changer has a silver design around the bottom and the sun was shining into my eyes. I was just driving straight.
The contact owns a 2014 gmc acadia. The contact stated that the vehicle was retaining water. During one instance, water leaked from the steering column assembly. The failure occurred without warning. Dominion chevrolet (9630 red arrow hwy, bridgman, mi) diagnosed that the seal on the windows caused the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and stated that the contact would have to pay for the repair because the vehicle was out of warranty. The failure mileage was 135,900.
We have had the car since january and i guess today was the first day i have driven the car with the back windows down. I took my dog with me so i rolled down the back windows when i did this the whole car started shaking and you could see in the rearview mirror that the back doors shook hard. The shaking made a load racket that hurt me ears. It happened with either back window down but was worst with the driver side. It was real bad with both windows down. I did not get the shaken with the front windows down and the back windows up. It only accured when the back windows were down. It happened at 65 miles an hour and at 40 miles an hour. It has to be a design flaw because it was bad. I first thought it was a bad tire but it went away with windows up and only came back when back windows were down.after making sure the tires were ok, i played with the windows to see when the vibration started and got worst. The vibration would start when either back window would get a fourth of the way down and would get worst as the windows would go down. The faster i went the worst it got.no vibration ever happened when just the front windows were down and no vibration when all windows were up.the car would vibrate enough that it scared me and i think someone needs to look into it and test drive our carthankyou
Powered lift gate raises normally but abruptly closes when it reaches the top of the opening cycle
My service traction control and service stablilitrek comes on while i'm driving which is very because the car jerks when trying to drive at a certain speed. And when i go around a curve the stablilitrek active come on and the car makes a humming noise.
Service air bag soon comes up 30 or more times a day and struts are making noise

The car has unpredictably and repeatedly gone into a reduced engine power state and subsequent stall on at least 8 occasions necessitating an emergency pull over. The failure occurred 6 times when slowing to turn or approaching a light/stop sign and twice on the highway at speeds in excess of 60 mph.messages at the time of the issue have varied but consistently indicate engine issue, reduced engine power.variably we will see messages about stabilization control, traction control being off or needing to be checked.we have avoided accidents on multiple occasions.gm has been unable to identify and correct the issue on repeated visits nor can they guarantee that it won't happen again.since the car loses engine power and stalls both at highway and slower speeds, it presents an extreme safety hazard not only to occupants of the car but to surrounding vehicles.we refuse to have the car on the road given the enormity of the risk associated with driving it at this point.gm was initially responsive to our concerns at the first visit to the dealership but has not returned three separate calls over the past three weeks.forums on-line regarding the acadia and several other models show that many other people have been experiencing this same issue over multiple model years.gm needs to resolve the cause before someone is killed.
Traction control sensor turns on-service stabilitrak-engine loses power-car dies while driving at any speed. Turn the car off wait for awhile and sometimes it will turn over and everything is fine. The issue is slowly happening more often and taking longer to start back up.
There is a problem with the ignition coil failure. The vehicle design has close proximity catalytic converters can result in accelerated contamination for the un burned fuel entering the catalytic converters resulting in engine or converter assembly failure
I was driving on the interstate with my son and the rear sun roof exploded.it was a very loud noise and my ear in still hurting from the sound.the sunroof screen was closed, but the glass has not broken apart and fallen yet.it is shattered on the underside in hundreds of pieces.the top shows long cracks all over.there doesn't seem to be a point where something hit it.the crack lines seem random.
The auxiliary evaporator blower motor on gmc acadias emits brush dust that contains copper particles. These copper particles are blown onto the evaporator core of the vehicle which frequently leads to corrosion and creates a refrigerant leak, causing the air conditioning unit to stop working or only blow warm air. The evaporator has been replaced twice on my acadia and it went out again on july 30, 2018 (potentially sooner, but i noticed the lack of cold air on the 30th). The certified technician that i spoke with shared with me that this is a very common problem with gmc acadias but general motors refuses to acknowledge or correct the issue. A simple online search shows many different acadia owners sharing similar experiences where they have to frequently pay to replace the evaporator once the vehicle is out of warranty. These evaporators should be fine for the life of the car, but there is a clear defect in the manufacturing that is causing the air conditioning unit to fail. While this might not be considered a safety concern or complaint, i have two young children and have great concerns over driving my vehicle in the summer without air conditioning. Please take my concerns seriously and investigate the multitude of complaints online about this specific issue. I discovered i had a flat tireso i got the jack from the back of the acadiaremoved the spare tirestarted jacking the car upjust as it reached enough clearance to remove the flat tire, i removed put it aside, i turned around to grab the spare, the weight of the car collapsed the jack and the front of the car hit the pavement.
A/c stopped working due to the rear evaporator leaking caused by an internal part blowing out brush dust containing copper particles which corroded the evaporator, which caused a leak.
The auxiliary evaporator blower motor on gmc acadia's emits brush dust that contains copper particles. These copper particles are blown onto the evaporator core of the vehicle which frequently leads to corrosion and creates a refrigerant leak, causing the air conditioning unit to stop working or only blow hot or warm air. The evaporator on my 2014 acadia has been replaced twice. Once at 44,235 miles and just recently at 84,510 miles. The service manager that i spoke with shared with me that this is a very common problem with gmc acadia's but gm refuses to acknowledge or correct the issue. These evaporators should be fine for the life of the car, but there is a clear defect in the manufacturing that is causing the air conditioning unit to fail. Although this is not a safety issue it is a defect issue that could be a safety issue because of excessive heat as a result of this ac failure. Please address this problem and get gm to replace any further failures for all acadia owners!
This is a problem involving the liftgate of the trunk because i almost got crushed on it as i was trying to load grocery.
Air bag warning light in the display intermittently comes on and remains on for several days to several weeks then clears for a period of time then repeats.have not been able to replicate the issue when presenting for diagnostic repairs.
Gas gauge suddenly dropped to "0" while driving on interstate yet it had gas in it.
We have taken the vehicle to a gmc dealership and they cannot help us. They repaired several random parts. Mine fixed the problem. The car seems to stall in between gears. Randomly driving sown the road and the car will stall and then catch. Sometimes it is terrifying. And now we are experiencing hot air flow in the cabin and the back air won't stay on consistently. It shuts off and then on. It's incredibly frustrating.

Auxillary evaporator core failure, 2 times since i have owned the vehicleat the heat of the day, driver side a/c blew cold, passenger side blew hot
First incident: vehicle engine turned off(stalled)while backing out of parking spot. Car lost all power: brakes, steering, enginesecond incident: one week later, same incident: vehicle engine turned off(stalled): car lost all power, brakes, steering, engine, this time on highway exit ramp moving approx 35 mph. Very frightening experience.we contacted gmc and opened a case#[xxx]car has been to dealer who kept it for one week and could not duplicate the problem. They had no explanation or solution. Service manager, in fact, informed us that he "could have told us" he found a problem and solved it but that we should appreciate his honesty! in not being able to diagnose? we have no faith in this automobile without a definitive problem and solution.while dealer did supposedly run it through tests, no mention of recall nor of any idea as to why this occurred.on- line reports that a chassis control module could be short circuited by small metal fragments, possibly causing the vehicle to stall.dealer did not address this nor locate it. This problem was posted by general motors on october 1 2014, almost two weeks prior to the car going in for analysis. My wife and 16 year old daughter drive this vehicle and i am in fear of an accident or worse. Please help us.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
The module for the side blindzone alert notification system, back up camera, tv's/dvd's quite working after it went through the car wash. When taken to the mechanic it was said itmodule was filled with water. Attempted to have this address in april of 2019 and now other things are getting worse! side mirror lights always on.
The acadia's fuel gauge just stops working and then starts again.the vehicle has a jerky motion when slowing down around any curves...like the engine has to catch up.
I had just picked up 250 pieces of chicken from giant eagle to feed the homeless at the ywca and placed the boxes in the back of my vehicle.as i drove down the street the window began to fog so i turned on the defrost.within minutes of turning on the defrost, the window shattered into pieces.i ended up having to throw away over 100 pieces of chicken, but luckily no one was hurt.i have called the dealership and filed a complaint with the corporate office, but they say they cannot assist.after speaking with candice at gmc, @866-790-3600 ext 5923331, i was told that the extended warranty i purchased does not cover glass.i bough the car used almost a year ago, purchased the extended warranty to replace the bumper to bumper coverage, so why doesn't it cover glass?what is even more frightening to me is how does a window just shatter?this is a defect that needs to be address and this should be covered by gmc.i have researched and found that this has happened in other gmc vehicles and perhaps this needs to be a class action law suit before it will be properly addressed.
