Battery leaks.*aw
When driving and coming to a stop the truck stalls.please describe .
Intewrmittent stalling (attorney for client).
Vehicle parked, neighbor woke owner, called 911, vehicle was engulfed in flames, fire dept arrived & put flames out, was informed it was electrical.
Shortly after vehicle was serviced at an authorized cheverolet/geo dealer a fire started under the hood which totalled the vehicle.
Parked vehicle in parking lot and noticed smoke coming from under hood.vehicle then caught onfire.nlm....
While driving at 30 mph consumer heard some noise within the tire, and then some cracking sound. Consumer drove 20 mintues up the road and then the consumer saw some smoke. Pulled over and saw vehicle engulved in flames.fire department came out and put out the fire.also,consumer had to get the steering column shaft repaired.all the wires got burned, and the main wire harness has to be repaired.
Been having problems with the temperature gauge reading hot all the time, but car is not overheating,was told it sounds electrical. Then the turning signal started to make the clicling noise even though you have already completed your turn, no visable lights flashing just the clicking noisethen driving along with windows rolled up and ac on eye's started burning and saw smoke coming from steering wheel turning signal i was told shorted out why??? hallmans states they have never heard of a geo ever, ever having a electrical problem did not purchase from hallmans but they are a geo dealer and that is where i was told to go for servicethank you for this wonderful website feel like this should have not happened.
The check engine light was not installed correctly by the manufacturer.
Engine noise.
This vehicle had an unnoticeable oil leak that causedoil to leak completely, and engine blew up and locked up. The reason is unknown to consumer and mechanic. Dealer has not been contacted.
Intermittent stalling after several attempts.
This car is always properly maintained and had no prior problems until the engine just decided to throw a rod through the engine block.
Was driving and vehicle caught on fire from engine compartment.
Vehicle has exhaust leak fumes and there is a bad smell.
Underneath the dash their are two pipes that get very hot, pipes are not covered with any type of material, resulting in burning the passenger.tt
Radio's clock and station lights fail intermittently.*skd
Radio was installed with an anti theft code, the cars battery went dead, which in turn activated th lock defense for the radio.nlm
The contact owns a 1995 geo tracker. The contact stated that the pipe that holds the gasoline tank had deteriorated and was hanging off of the vehicle. The dealer and manufacturer had not been contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The current mileage was 122,501.the failure mileage was 113,850.
While driving the tracker about 5 or 6 mph itjust quits and would not start again.on july 29th owner discovered that one of the wires from the fuel pump is touching the fuel tank which is causing the wire to short out. Dealer would not correct the problem. Owner has ordered a fuel pump assembly and will be replacing the pump.

The contact owns a 1995 geo tracker.while driving less than 15 mph, the transmission moved into first gear, but failed to go into second gear.the vehicle stopped moving when attempting to reach second gear.the vehicle would also fail to shift into third gear.the contact must manually shift back into first gear.the failure and current mileages were less than 170,000.
Man. Has no recall, but 4 other geos in shop at same time with same problem. No safety defec tmentioned.
Traveling 40 mph, vehicle jerks while driving, looses 1000 rpms and the torque converter kicks out.tt
While driving the clutch pedal will get tight until consumer can not shift gears. Then by keep applying pressure to clutch, it will eventually break .last clutch that was put in,consumer had to have welding done because of the damage.last clutch caused damage in the amount of $1800.took to dealer ,and they replaced the clutch and some other parts that led to clutch.
Seat belt did not hold me back, i hit steering wheel back up and slammed head on window
Vehicle rolled over, seatback and seat belts broke, driver thrown out.
The drivers seatbelt locks up when going and when stopping it releases and lets you go forward. Please describe.tt

While driving about 55-60mph driver lost control ofvehicle and caused it to flip from front to back.shoulder seat belt was torn, and did not hold consumer in vehicle.driverwas ejected fromvehicle, and did not survive the crash.
Antilock brakes failed.
Experienced three brake failures.abs valve system was replaced.tt
Abs brake light keeps coming on intermittently at first, now it stay on, dealer can not locate the problem.

While driving inreverse out of driveway whensteering wheel came apartwithout a prior warning, steering was completly lost.the cause for the steering wheel to come apart was poor design and poor welding.
Steering wheel suddenly and completely breaks away causing complete loss of steering. Cause: weld with no penatration and poor design. I can'timagine a more serious safty defect.
Steering problem causes steering wheel to jerk.
Consumerhas a problem with the steering wheel. Steering wheel should have a weld holding it to the hub which is fastened to spine, and a nut coming down to hold the spine , it doesn't cover.
Steering colume tilt locking mechanisum failed and the colume droped. Had i not been alert vehicle could have swerved and caused an accident. Dealer says steering colume has to be changed but they are no longer available. Wants to put a used one in. It seem to me that it is a manufacturing defect. If not why are there none available any longer? maybe because of a silent recall! this vehicle has benn towed behind a motorhome for 25,000 miles of it's total 53,567 and has not been out of the high position more than two dozen times since i owned it because i am a big guy and need the room.

Cracking rot and separating where the rear suspension attaches.
On the driver's door ,the bolt that goes through the body and is welded to the frame has broken off, causing the driver door's to fall, cannot open door.
Passanger side door hinge mount is separating from the car the repair man said the metal was to thin there for the door. Same problem on the driver side.
Front driver's side door separated from the top hinge, the weld came completely out of the door.
Getting into vehicle, had open door, door fell off frame w/handle in hand; held at bottom w/hinge & pin; took to dealer; was informed bolts were too small for frame.
The driver's door had begun squeaking in the last two weeks.as i was driving on 03/26/2000 i hit a rough spot in the road and the driver's door popped open and sagged onto the bottom hinge.i had to stop and exit the vehicle to close the door.i can't close the door from inside the vehicle.this is a safety hazard.

Front driver side door hinge has separated (rusted) from the body.
When attempting to close the drivers side door i noticed that it seemed to be misalligned.upon closer inspection i found that the door hinge components welded to the body were no longer fully attached and the door was literally hanging on by a thread.
Bolts are pulling out of the metal of door behind the hinges on driver's side. Dealer notified, and informed consumer that this vehiclewas not covered under manufacturer's recall due to vin,and repairs would be done only at consumer's cost.
The driver's side top hinge is rusted through.the body metal where the hinge is supposed to attach is tearing off or not there.this is happening to both doors and all hinges because of a defect in the metal to which the hinges are attached.the hinges also have defective metal.the 4 wheel drive assembly will not lock in place and won't work.
The 2 top bolts that hold the door have rusted through, causing the top part of the door to fall off which could result in injuries.
