Consumer received a safety campaign notice on 11/24/2003 from the manufacturer about a fuel leak in the engine.
2001 freightliner fld120 semi tractor engine failed and caused oil and debris to leak onto the roadway. Another motorist ran over the oil and debris. The semi had a hole in the left front oil pan. Ohio traffic crash report # 10-0654-90.updated 04/14/10
The contact owns a 2001 freightliner fld120. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph and shifting into high gear, the vehicle would not respond and would perform sluggishly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they advised the contact that the high range performing box needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and they offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000. The vin was unavailable.
The front spring hangar is loose on the frame, this is causing the axle to shift.
