The contact owns a 2011 freightliner custom chass x-line. While looking underneath the motorhome to inspect it, the contact noticed that the v-band clamps were fractured, corroded, and loose. The clamps were located near the rear of the motorhome by the fuel tank. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 17,000.
The contact owns a 2011 freightliner x-line rv. The contact stated that the trailer was 14,000 lbs with a 10,000 pound hitch coupler. He mentioned that the manufacturer had this coupler placed on the trailer to increase profitability. The manufacturer was contacted who stated that they would be willing to cut the coupler off and replace it with the correct one. The contact decided to returned the vehicle and get a refund since all the other trailers exhibited the same problem. The failure and current mileage was 0.
