At times the led lights on the outside of the camper wouldn't work or would go in and out. So we check the plug that hooks the camper to the truck and one of the prongs was misshapen so hubby bent it back in place it seems to be working now

While camping it began to rain so we closed all the windows and turned on theac it never really cooled the cabin so we thought maybe needed time so the next morning we had it on full blast and left to go see the little white house and when we got back later that afternoon maybe 4pm. When the door was opened extremely hot air hit me in the face and i could hardly breathe it was so hot in the trailer. Good thing i left my dog at home or he would have died in the trailer from a heat stroke!!! the window unit is in a cabinet with a vent in the back but the exhaust air is not separated from the intake air and it recycles its own hot air! so the cabinet on top of the ac was so hot it melted the bag of marshmallows turned my bananas black, and the handles on all the drawers and cabinet that was on the same island with the ac was very hot to the touch! we returned the camper a 3rd time for repairs they found that shasta did not wire the exhaust fan into the electrical system!!!

After the dealership wired the exhaust fan into the electrical system my a/c still isn't cooling properly. We had to go buy 2 fans to place in the camper. And the cabinet was still hot and the handles hot to touch ... We seen other fixes dealerships have done and we opened the cabinet and added insulation to the cabinet and plug all the holes in the ac cabinet that allows hot exhaust air in the cabin and build a duct to funnel out the hot exhaust air strait to the little fan and to the vent.. The ac still doesn't completely cool the cabin but it is at least putting out cool air we still have to use fans to help move the cold air around.

When my door got stuck and would not open the skin of the door also came loose and i had to stop and duct tape the metal to the door so it wouldn't rip off all the way off or flop around while in transit

I was washing my camper and i was cut a few times on rough metal burr where the metal was cut/broken on bumper, and a piece of metal sticking out of my wing of my camper.. I was able to stop the bleeding and didn't go to the doctor...

When we parked the camp ground at the site i was going to turn on the radio while we set up the dinette was in the bed position i climbed up to turn on the radio and the bed fell down luckily i caught myself from falling back and didn't get hurt. The factory had placed extra support on the passenger side but not on the driver's so it was still able to fall. We have returned the camper to dealership they are supposed to fix it...

Shasta model 2015 airflyte 16 re-issue - rear glass for emergency exit window fell out. Fortunately the vehicle was not in motion on public road at the time.

This trailer was missing support/bracing for the front end. This issue has been linked to collapsing of the front end of the trailer. After being "fixed" there is daylight coming through the front end of the trailer. The two wall pieces are also pulling apart. I have received no response from email to forest river or the dealer/repair shop asking them to address this problem.

The 19' foot travel trailer has separation of the inside wall at floor and dinette bench from the frame.

Trailer entry door becomes jammed and is not able to be opened from the inside of the trailer. This happened on several occasions. This poses a serious safety risk for anyone that might be trapped inside the trailer.

Nhtsa recall number:15v553i took my camper in for window recall work it sat from jan till mid april and waited for the windows to come in to be replaced and i was told they all were replaced. The camper was parked and iwhen i opened the windows to let some fresh air in the camper the top window glass pulled loose from its aluminum hinge and was dangling from the mechanism that opens and closes the window. I contacted shasta warranty department once the window fell out and he looked up my campers repair history andthe only windows that didn't pass inspection and had to be replaced was back window and the 2 up front.i will be returning for a window replacement. So it looks like even if the windows pass the inspection they still can fall out...

The frame welds were inadequate and have broken away on the front part of the trailer near the tongue. The center cross member between the tongue is dangling. It is a 2015 shasta 1961 re-issue 16 foot trailer. It is clearly an example of shoddy workmanship, and is definitely a dangerous safety issue. I am not sure when this happened. I only became aware of the problem after other owners of this same model trailer brought the problem to light. This is not the first safety issue with these trailers

I was washing my camper and i was cut a few times on rough metal burr where the metal was cut/broken on bumper, and a piece of metal sticking out of my wing of my camper.. I was able to stop the bleeding and didn't go to the doctor...

When i took my camper back to the dealership because it leaked the day i bought it, the back window popped open and was flapping on the way to dealership. If it would have busted or came loose that could have cause a bad accident... Returned to the dealership to be repaired..

The front end of my shasta is sagging and buckling due to being structurally compromised. It has been repaired by the dealer 3 times. I was told by the service department that it had broken lag bolts and/or did not have enough lag bolts. The front panel is leaning on and touching the propane tank. I am concerned about the possibility of a leak or even worse it buckling causing the worst case scenario a fire or explosion. I am also aware that i am not the only owner that has this defect and concern. I had a 550 mile trip planned for may 5 and have cancelled and am renting a cabin because i am fearful to tow it that far. Safety is my number one concern, and i feel that this compromises the safety of myself, my passengers, and other motorists.

Movement of frame away from trailer body. Movement of trailer tongue away from body and separation of benches in front of trailer interior. Lag screws sheared off in front of trailer where they go horizontally through front body and in to frame of trailer. Welds missing from front fork of trailer. Fork welded on one side only. Horizontal movement of trailer tongue and fork from body when on jack stands.

The day before we were to leave and go camping i was loading camping stuff into the camper and the door became stuck and would not open it was very hot that day luckily i wasn't trapped in the trailer because i was home alone and my cell phone was in the house! i now try to make sure the phone is on me if i'm to be in the camper incase that ever happens while i'm inside.so instead of leaving to the campground on time we had to go 45 miles in the wrong direction for them to open the door so we could use this camper. We arrived 9:30 am and it took till 5:30pm for them to fix it.

After numerous phone calls and emails to get lazy days in colorado to complete required and agreed upon recall work done on my camper, they continue to fail to do so.they use stall tactics to discourage me from getting the work done.my camper has been sitting on their lot for 4 weeks now and they still have not ordered parts.this has been going on since 2015 when i bought the camper new from them.my camper was on their lot for 5 months at that time for recall work and other work.i don?t need free storage, i have 5 acres at my house to store it on. This is for a 2015 forest river shasta airflyte reissue 19 foot travel trailer, production # 1301. I believe the oem leaf suspension system and passenger tires are unsafe and will lead to a serious accident, injury, or death.the wheel well clearance is not sufficient for the oem tires and leaf suspension system on the trailer.also, the oem tires are coker whitewall passenger vehicle tires.i believe travel trailers must be manufactured with oem trailer/cargo tires which have stiffer sidewalls.i was unaware of these concerns until an online forum recommended i check my trailer.i had recently completed an approximately 1,000 mile round trip and when i checked my trailer upon return, i found the tires had been rubbing the wheel wells both on top of the tires and on the inside of the tires.the left tire has already exhibited troubling sidewall wear on the inside of the tire.. There is less than 2 inches of clearance between top oftires and wheel well and less than 1 inch clearance between inside of tires and wheel well.forest river shasta has a warranty repair which replaces the rear leaf spring shackles with ones that are longer but this only increases the above tire clearance by another inch.this does nothing to address the inside clearance of the tire to the wheel well.with the oem suspension system, the trailer exhibits excessive sway even with an aftermarket professionally installed curt anti-sway kit.i fear the warranty installed longer leaf spring shackles coupled with the coker passenger tires will only aggravate the excessive sway issue.to my knowledge, forest river shasta has not issued a safety recall for this condition.

My tire info label had 65psi but on the tire it had 35psi stamped on the tire... When it went back to the factory they put the right sticker on the camper.

When i got my camper back from shasta after they had the camper 79 days for repairs. I looked under my camper and i found they just put a few screws in the wheel wells to "fix" damage from wheels busting the wheel well loose from my camper, and it still has gaps in the wheel wells and exposed screw with the pointed end pointed towards my tire ...

Inspection revealed tires impacting inside fender wells on this travel trailer. Under rated springs allow tires to rub inside fenders creating safety hazard.updated 10/06/15*ljthe vehicle was repaired at the owner's updated 12/21/2015

The contact owns a 2015 forest river shasta air flight. The contact observed that the suspension of the vehicle was low. As a result, the vehicle was less than one inch from both of the side tires. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The dealer reached out to the for manufacturer for guidance. The manufacturer stated that the solution for this failure was to place banana shaped shackles to add clearance space from the tires and wheel well. The vehicle was repaired; however, the remedy proposed by the manufacturer did not suffice to deter the issue. After the contact received the vehicle back, she test drove it for four hours and noticed that the tires still scraped along the wheel wells. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact also noted that the camper was only equipped with one axle and the manufacturer factory equipped passenger tires on the vehicle and not the standard trailer tires. The contact also noted that the leaf spring was flat and already showed signs of corrosion. The failure mileage was 300.

This is an fr travel trailer which has coker passenger tires on it instead of coker trailer tires or other brand of trailer tire. The tires have inadequate clearance and as a result are rubbing inside the wheel well bother laterally and vertically. This is a serious safety concern for which shasta (fr subsidiary) has offered a cheap fix (shackle attachment to spring). Tire size = st225/75r15d designed for passenger cars. The suspension on this camper consists of cheap chinese 4 leaf springs which flatten out after only a few miles driven. The stickers on the side of the camper informs the owner to inflate the coker tire to 65 psi even though the tire itself indicates only 35psi maximum inflation. I consider this to be a serious safety concern which forest river is not taking seriously. There should be a recall on all 1,941 units built based on the very real possibility of the tires rubbing then causing a blowout at highway speeds. This was a limited edition run to celebrate the 75th anniversary of shasta (now owned by forest river). In addition to the wheel well clearance issue, there is also the matter of the windows falling out. I have had two windows replaced already less than 6 months into ownership of the camper. Manufacturer is hehr and the adhesive on the windows was either a. Not prepped according to the manufacturer specs or b. Installed incorrectly. Either way this poses a second very serious safety concern as the windows could (and have on other units) fallen out on the road.

I bought my shasta airflyte 16 it had 0 miles and camping world is 40-45 miles to my house. We had to pull over 2-3 times because we thought the camper was coming uncoupled because of the bouncing of the camper and the shaking of the vibrations of the steering wheel, but when we got out everything was fine we smelled breaks and they were fine.. So we got home and 5hrs after it being home my camper was leaking that caused us to look over the whole camper close and i seen daylight in a vent when sitting on the gaucho. I found our wheel wells where busted loose and gaped open and tire skid marks in the wells and on the back side of the wells on the frame rub marks from the side walls. I couldn't fit my hands between the well and the tread of my tires and i couldn't get a finger behind the tire and the frame and measurements is about 1/4" sidewall to camper on one side and the other i can get a finger back there but it's a tight fit it measures about 3/4" side wall to camper ..my camper went back to the factory to be fixed.

This complaint concerns the 2015 shasta airflyte 1961 reissue travel trailer.after inspection by a local repair shop, it was noted the leaf springs supplied by the manufacturer 1) were not adequate to support the gross vehicle weight, 2) were of inferior quality and 3) had already flattened out after less than 1000 miles of towing. As a result of these deficiencies, the tires on this single axle trailer made contact with the wheel wells, causing damage to both the chassis and the tires, putting the consumer in danger of suffering a blowout. The manufacturer has recommended a fix involving longer shackles which increases tire clearance by less than 1.5 inches, not enough to remove the danger.there are 1941 units similarly affected by this design flaw, each one a potential hazard to owners and other motorists. Suggest shasta be forced to recall all units and replace leaf springs.

I have a shasta airflyte reissue and when receiving it from the dealer and towing it home, i found that the tires had rubbed the wheel well.there was only about an inch of clearance at the top and only about 1/2 inch on the inside wall of the wheel well.the driver side, or road side is closer than the passenger side??shasta, thru the dealer, put a banana shackle on to raise the clearance.i still only have 1 3/4" on driver side, and 2 1/4" on passenger side, and about 1" on the inside wall.the problem seems that the springs are cheap, from china, and flat.adding a shackle doesn't solve the problem, just makes more sway.the wheels are offset making the tires come closer to the inside wall, and the tires and wheels are for passenger cars, which are not safe either.

I am writing this as a owner of a 2015 shasta airflite. Since taking delivery of the trailer in november of 2014 there has had continuous swaying while towing. I have found that forest river has installed coker brand passenger tires 225r/15. There is less than one inch of clearance between the top of the tires and the wheel well. This is causing rubbing of tires to the wheel wells. The leaf springs are not adequate for the weight the trailer. These springs are showing signs of flattening. Also the tires weight rating is much less than the 3750# gvw. Thank you for looking into this matter.

The 19' foot travel trailer has separation of the inside wall at floor and dinette bench from the frame.

Frame is not stable. Flexing of frame allows front of trailer to move forward. The front walls separating from frame. Lag bolts insufficient to hold trailer on frame. While backing on an incline, the trailer flexed and made contact with my pickup truck.

Tire complaint. 2015 forest river shasta airflyte reissue was sold to me with passenger tires. Multiple engineers have notified me that these tires are dangerous and should not be used. The trailer should have been equipped with trailer tires, not passenger tires. The manufacturer was notified of this by an authorized service center. They've not accepted any responsibility for substituting the appropriate tires. The coach has been designated unsafe for use by multiple engineers who specialize in road safety.

A co2 alarm indicator went off.the heat was on and apparently having items in front of vents on the floor does not allow for enough ventilation.if the co2 detector would of not gone off we could of been poisoned.there is not a sticker indicating not to place items near the vent that distributes the heat.seems like a logical consumer warning.also we were surprised that this would make co2 build up. ....updated 09/03/15

This is a serious safety concern. Visible rubbing in is the top of the wheel well. Tire size = st225/75r15d designed for passenger cars. The stickers on the side of my camper informs me to inflate the coker tire to 35 psi and tire itself indicates 35psi maximum inflation. (i know of folks in the shasta camper club with a different sticker of 65psi.their campers were manufactured before mine.they have not been notified to change the psi. We have no idea who has the correct information as the company is not openly communicating.potentially we are both wrong.)i consider this situation to be a serious safety concern which forest river is not taking seriously. There will be a total of 1,941 units built and they will all have the same 'stock' whitewall tires.i am concerned that therubbing can cause a blowout at highway speeds.*shasta (fr subsidiary) implemented a warranty (shackle attachment to spring) to my camper indicating that it would help with the clearance but i do not see a difference.with this tire in place, i have about a ~2' tire clearance and rubbing of tires continues to be a concern. The leaf springs continue to appear to be flattened with less than 200 miles on the coach.

The 19' foot travel trailer has separation of the inside wall at floor and dinette bench from the frame.

Two windows have failed on this brand new camper due to adhesive failure requiring that the entire window assemblies be replaced. Hehr is the manufacturer who is being blamed but forest river installed the windows and should be engaging in some level of quality control. If this should happen at highway speeds the potential is there for multiple car wrecks should the window fall onto another car travelling behind the camper.

I have a shasta airflyte reissue.the manufacture put passenger tires on it p225/75r15.they are to have 35 psi.the sticker says gvw is 3635 lbs.each tire says max load 1874 lbs.the wheels say max load each 1820 lbs.it is my understanding that it is not safe to run passenger tires on an enclosed trailer, camper.a trailer needs tires with a stronger side wall and be able to inflate to 65 psi.i also understand that the tires and wheels should be rated at 20% more than gvw.the wheels are also offset to where the inside clearance in the wheel well is only about 1".a trailer wheel should be centered on the hub, not offset.the wheels should be able to accomadate a trailer tire and 65 psi.

The contact owns a 2015 forest river shasta. The contact stated that the camper was equipped with passenger tires instead of trailer tires. The weight of the equipment placed on the camper brought the camper very close to the tires, which made it difficult to maneuver. The trailer was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not applicable...updated 07/08/15updated 10/17/2017

Both wheels are too close to wheel well causing rubbing.also feel adequate trailer tires should have been installed rather than passenger tires.

I have a travel trailer with 15' white painted steel spoke wheels, after a year one had a air leak where the rim and spokes are welded together, about 6 months later another wheel had the same thing happen, i ended up putting innertubes in them.in sept. Of this year while traveling at 65mph on highway 80 in iowa, we had a wheel/tire failure since we never felt anything when it happened we didn't pull over right away, i thought the noise i heard was a truck passing us but after it passed the noise was still there. We pulled over to find that one tire and rim was missing only the spokes were left still bolted to the hub.the tires were inflated to 65 psi cold that morning, the lug nuts were checked for tightness also, we had been on the road for around 5 hours. We never heard any noise that i would think was a tire going bad, the flap, flap, flap sound you hear when a truck goes by with a bad tire.there was not any damage to the bottom of the trailer or marks that may have ben made by a tire coming apart, the damage to the trailer was to the plastic fender and metal it was screwed to.i think that maybe there was a problem with the wheel manufacture, that the welds were not as good as they should have been. It was suggested i contact you in case this problem is bigger than just my wheels. I have photos of the aftermath if needed.

This complaint concerns the 2015 shasta airflyte 1961 reissue travel trailer.the manufacturer supplied auto passenger tires (coker classic, p225/75r15) with this travel trailer, not sturdier, more appropriate "trailer tires." while the supplied tires are adequate to support the gross vehicle weight, they are not designed for the stresses associated with towing and are likely to fail in time. In addition, the travel trailer includes instruction to inflate the tires to 65 psi, while the information on the tires indicates 35 psi as the maximum allowed inflation.numerous tire experts were consulted and all recommended the manufacturer should issue a recall on this particular unit and replace supplied tires with adequate trailer tires. Several stated they were prohibited from installing auto passenger tires on travel trailers, either by company policy or state/local laws.

My tire info label had 65psi but on the tire it had 35psi stamped on the tire... When it went back to the factory they put the right sticker on the camper.

The contact owns a 2015 forest river shasta air flyte. While pulling the trailer at approximately 50 mph, the trailer swayed left, right, and bounced up and down. The failure recurred on several occasions. The trailer was taken to the dealer. The technician was not able to diagnose or repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100.

Shasta model 2015 airflyte 16 re-issue- while addressing issue of improper suspension (replacing springs) it was noted that shasta as the manufacturer supplied oem tires not rated for trailer application (but instead standard automobile tires).

Shasta model 2015 airflyte 16 re-issue inadequate load carrying capacity for dry weight. Vehicle suspension (leaf springs) not engineered to carry the load. This travel trailer was only pulled from the selling dealer in jacksonville, fl to my house approximately 350 miles away. Tire tread marks were noted on the upper inside of the wheel wells where there had been obvious contact during normal (unloaded / as delivered weight) transport on well maintained roads. Shasta (manufacturer) at first did not even acknowledge the problem so i replaced springs at my own expense. There has never been any formal recall type information issued by shasta notifying me of this issue but there is a "rumor" they have a fix in the form of longer shackles.

Inspection revealed tires impacting inside fender wells on this travel trailer. Under rated springs allow tires to rub inside fenders creating safety hazard.updated 10/06/15*ljthe vehicle was repaired at the owner's updated 12/21/2015
