Vehicle is a new georgetown 300smotor home with a room slide out on the drivers side.over the slide out is an awning sometimes called a topper that is rolled very compactly with a torsion spring when traveling. Under certain wind conditions (30 mph windfrom left at 60 miles per hour forward coach speed) the topper will violently unroll, impacting the motor coach cabin, andresulting with very loud wind noisethat appears to be an impact with another vehicle. Stopping very quickly clears the problem yet seriously disrupts adjacent vehicles.the topper is manufactured by dometic and installed by the georgetown forrest river assembly plant. The very specific instructions by dometic for the installation calls for an automatic lock to be attached at the leading end of the topper slide assembly to prevent unintentional unfurling while at highway speeds. The georgetown assembly plant attached the automatic lock at thetrailing end of the slide assembly and with insufficient contact resulting in the above described accident. Checking with the rv.net safety blog this appears to be a known failure by georgetown. Examining the new motor homes on the dealer lot where i purchased my vehicle, it looked like one in four vehicles had the same problem. The service department had a low concern level demonstrated for correcting a manufacture's deficiency.when one considers the limited experience drivers piloting motor homes 30-45 feet long with a car towed behind, an unexpected impact to the cabin can easily lead to a very tragic circumstance.i have been unable to locate a georgetown address that accepts safety issues either in my sales documentation or online at their website.thank you for your consideration of this matter.

Was in for step recall, that theydid not fix. On the way back to camp.brakes went to the floor.have no breaks now . Now icannotmovethe motor home.

As i was leaving a campground brakes failed without any warning. The exit from campground was downhill and could have been disastrous. Drove next door to rv service and they checked it out and said it had to be towed to a ford dealer. The brake lines had broke.they were rusted from the outside. Ford dealer replaced 3 lines. Ford would not cover the bill of 458.56 because it was 2 months beyond warranty.the motorhome was never in snow, ice or salt water. There must have been a problem from new with the lines.

The contact owns a 2011 forest river georgetown 33ts rv. The contact stated that the hydraulic system return hoses were faulty and he feared they could cause a fire as they were bulging. Upon further inspection he also noticed bubbles in the hoses and a leak. The manufacturer was notified and stated that the hoses would not fracture while operating the vehicle.the vehicle had not been repaired. The failure and the current mileages were 2,800.

In 2013 we were traveling to texas on interstate 10 in louisiana when we heard a loud noise and harse vibration in the rv we were able to pull over on the interstate and looked under the rv to see a piece of steel wedged under the rv and shearing itself into the asphalt.we were able to remove it with some difficulty put it in the rv and continued on our trip terrified of what was wrong.we called forest river and emailed the attached pictures and they had no idea what this was.we took it to ron hoovers in rockport, tx to have it looked at they said it was a heat shield that had come off the rv when its weld didn't hold.they repaired it and it has stayed ever since.i'm terrified of this rv please let me know if you have had other complaints of this type and if a recall is warranted.

Front power shade lowered without warning while driving on i-95 at speed. Had to stop in the travel lane due to complete blindness caused by the complete lowering of the shade.
