We bought a new motorhome in 2/06 and it has just shut down in traffic on us in 5/06 (in a ford repair shop for a week) & 6/06. We lost ability to steer and to brake, so it's huge safety hazard. It's in a ford repair shop again, today is the 11th day, & they can't figure out what is wrong with it, so it probably won't be fixed right again!!!!

Windshield migrates out of the frame during normal use. Windshield was replaced in texas. A month later an angle bracket was mounted to the inside middle of the dash to prevent further migration of windshield in california. A few months later the front "cap" of the roof developed a "leak" which was "past" the one year warranty and repaired for approx. $2000. I drove rv for 650 miles to idaho. The first fall the front "cap" leaked yet again. Dealer refused to repair for free. I placed a tarp over it for the winter. My wife had surgery which took all my time.this summer i noticed that the windshield had migrated out of the frame . This time it was the top of the windshield probably due to the "angle bracket" on the bottom which stopped the migration of the windshield in that location. I called the nearest dealer and was told that the manufacturer was aware of the problem and had a "fix". The rv has to be transported to indiana at the owners expense to have the repair done at no charge. I explained to the consumer warranty representative of rorestriver that i am in no position to deliver the rv to indiana. I had ainjury that disabled me from "working" the rest of my life. I was unable to drive long distances. I now live on disability payments and find it very difficult to set aside the required expenses to make such a trip.

I have a 2004 georgetown 370 ts.it has been to factory five times for the windshield coming out and cracking top left corner. The problem first time was may 2005 windshield cracked top left. Ask factory if there was a problem ? nofirst time to factory jan.06 windshield cracked top left corner, gasket had moved. Factory asked to get it back. Second time back windshield moved to the left pulled away from front cap top right. Came back to me from factory with gasket pulled out top right. Third time back to fix gaskets and leaks. Forth time in 08 to repair windshield gasket top right pulled away. They installed a brace from side to side top of front cap and repaired leak roof over left side . The brace broke in the first one hundred fifty miles. Fifth time back to factory repair front cap, side walls inside motor home, repair brace that broke , roof leaksand replace dash board that rotted from water leak . It is at a dealer now for roof rotten over driver side factory wants to cover up. Windshield moving again. Mold is growing in floor around drive side.

The contact owns a 2004forest river georgetown rv. The contact stated the front windshield glass detached. The front windshield was reset three times and replaced once by an independent auto glass shop. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 8,000.

Windshield migrating out of the frame at highway speeds. The glass breaking. The manufacturer replaced the windshield and placed a "l" brackett to prevent further migration.the problem with this defect was not disclosed or prevented before i purchased the vehicle. The repair is not adequate nor professional. They litterally screwed an "l" brakett inot the dash. The repair is unsightly and inadequate. There are "newer" models that have a "fix" that looks professional. They ignore my requests to have the "same" repair done to my windshield.

Purchased 2005 forest river georgetown (which turned out to be 2004 model) and took delivery in april 2005.have had numerous problems with this rv and it has been in dealers shop 3 times for windshield replacement/repair.windshield was also replaced 1st time in august, 2005 in owosso michigan.other problems have been with all three slide-outs, one of which was not extending all the way and daylight could be observed at bottom.after departing dealership nov 18 and arriving at destination late in afternoon the opposite windshield fractured, cascading from top to bottom with spider cracks across and down.now the factory, forest river expects me to bring this rv from california to indiana in the winter so they can "tear it down and find the problem".if their dealers are not able to make the repair and have admitted there is a design flaw, the 2200 mile trip in my "home" is out of the question.i have my personal property after becoming a full-time rv person.now there have been 2 stress fractures on the drivers side and 1 on the passenger side.the driver's side also had the top of the second new window bulging out at the top of the frame and the band-aid approach was taken with this repair.this coach has also had numerous other problems indicating poor workmanship on the part of forest river along with poor quality control.i have had over 65 days in down time now since my taking possession - 65 days accumulated in less than 7 months.i see on this site that this is not the only georgetown and also on another site there have been issues with these rv's from 1999 that the factory has been aware of and apparently have done nothing.one was even repaired in ripon, ca, less than a 10 mile radius from the dealer which sold me my rv.

Dt*:the contact stated on two separate occasions, the windshield cracked without any impact.the dealerreplaced the windshield and identified the frame of the windshield as defective, causing the cracks.updated 8/16/2006 - the consumer was making a left hand turn when the passenger's side of the windshield cracked.the right side of the windshield popped out in addition to about 30 cracks and shatters on the right side.the dealer inspected the vehicle and agreed it was a manufacturing defect, but since the vehicle was no longer under warranty they couldn't repair it free of charge.two years prior to this incident the driver's side of the windshield did the same thing and was replaced by the manufacturer.the manufacturer wanted the consumer to drive the rv 2000 miles to be inspected but the consumer fells the rv is unsafe to drive.

The windshield upper top right and left corner is peeling away from the frame.the windshield repair shop tells me that it was defective installation at the manufacturer.
