Suddenly the motor turned off and i had to drift off the road to stop.the lights, wipers and my radio were still working. I tried to restart the engine but there was no response. (not even trying to turn over the starter.)i tried off and on for 10 minutes to restart the engine when it finally did start.i took my car to the blaize alexander ford, inc. I called kenny ross ford dealer when i returned to pittsburgh.they told me that there was no point in bringing it in to them because they software tester would only show the same results.their service mgr. Told me to bring it in the next time it happens.that may be too late if it causes a crash, or our death.i am taking it to them anyway on 10/15/09. I purchased a new ford taurus on 9-16-09.shortly after that, i noticed that all the running lights and interior lights would go on and off while the car was parked in the garage.i also noticed that the drivers door would unlock while i was driving it.i was told that a part was ordered on 10-27-09 and as of this date (12-10-09) the part has not arrived.the car has been "out of service " for 17 days.

Traction control locks up my front passenger side tire. This happened on 12/27/16 and two other times in the past. Brakes were not applied at the time. The traction control system locked the brake. There a many complaint of this happening on the web in other ford models as well. This could be dangerous. I was pulled left and went off the road. Ford will not respond as they can't reproduce the issue. Someone will get hurt!!! i was doing 20mph when it happened all 3 times.

Taurus starts from a full stop accelerating and at 40-45 mph the car jerks hard to the right, there is a grinding noise from drivers side wheel, and the traction control light comes on and can not be turned off. 101 k miles. Just replaced struts, tie rod ends, cv half shafts, and lower control arm/ball joint.

My daughter-in-law, [xxx], was driving a ford 2007 taurus (108, 000 miles) from ypsilanti, mi to dayton, oh. She had on board her infant (4 months) and toddler (4 years). Everything went smoothly until they entered the subdivision of her parents. For no apparent reason, the car turned off while driving. The lights on the dashboard all came on. She lost power steering and was able to pull over and stop the vehicle. She was able to restart the car and proceeded to her parents? home. Her and her father did subsequent test drives to try and determine the root cause ? they were unsuccessful. She drove home the next day with no problems. She expressed concern to me about her safety and the safety of her children had this random shut down of the vehicle occurred in a situation where she could not pull over to safety. She specifically expressed concern about the one-lane trafficdiversions that occurred during road construction along the freeway. She was concerned that stopping and starting the vehicle in this high traffic density locations could present a dangerous situation for her and her kids.vin unavailable'information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

While driving with cruise control set at 55mph my engine stalled. Smelled electrical wire burning. Smell went away, so i restarted the engine, and drove on. Took vehicle to dealer, where a tail light harness was discovered to be burned through. Dealer replaced wire harness, and replaced tail light assembly that had also been damaged (melted) by the incident. Vehicle engine has since stalled while in cruise control at highway speeds on two other occasions. Mentioned engine stalling to dealer. Warranty has since expired.

I have had this car for a few years. It start fine and can't get it fail again. Next a few months happens again. This has happen about five or six time in the past 20,000 mile.this happens on open highway and city streets while going straight .the dealer says no information is ever in the engine computer about any failure. 2009 ford taurus [xxx].please advise any information. My wife and grandson were entering the toll way via the ramp, as she merged into 75 mph traffic she increased her speed to match. As she did she let up off the accelerator but the car kept increasing speed. She realized that the throttle was stuck and started to pump the petal in hopes to free it. It did not free and was still increasing speed. She then in her panic could only stomp on the brake as hard as she could. Thankfully this slowed her enough to allow her to get the car over to the shoulder as semi trucks went by her at 70 mph. With the brakes on the car smoking like crazy she got the car slowed enough to throw the car into park. When she did the engine revved to almost redline and she shut the car off. She was very shaken as well as my grandson. She called me and it just so happened that i was nearby and met her along side of the busy toll way. She told me what happened so i went to the car and started it. It immediately revved to almost re line and i shut it off. The gas pedal seemed to work fine to me but would only increase the rpm's but not go below 4500. I called a tow truck and towed the car to sturgis michigan ford dealer. 269-651-7728. The service department is suppose to look the car over and let me know what was wrong with it.

Ford taurus 2009 engine stalled while going about 55 mph.driver restarted car by shifting into neutral and restarting car.this happened a second time a few months later.the third time the car started idling very roughly while stopped at a traffic light.this time, a computer message came up on the message board.the car was taken to a place where the error code could be read.the error was a problem with the camshaft sensor position.replacing the camshaft sensor appears to have resolved the problem.

The contact owns a 2009 ford taurus. The contact stated that while driving in cruise control at 40 mph and applying the brakes, the vehicle would suddenly stall. In order to restart the vehicle, he would have to shift into neutral and restart. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer and they advised him that it may be the throttle body and the motor assembly. The vehicle was repaired for the throttle body and the motor assembly. A few weeks later, the failure recurred. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer a second time and they advised him that they would recalibrate the pcm but could not guarantee that the repair would fully repair the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.updated 07/20/11*lj

Sunday july 12 engine stopped. 3rd. Time in one month and now has 4851 miles on it.. Folowingprevious sugestion from bethlehem ford, i did not try to restart engine .car towed to nearest ford dealer, ray price ford , mt. Pocono, pa. On monday july 13, they notified me they had checked engine codes etc.& could not find the problem .i got car that afternoon , drove apprximately 17miles & engine stopped again.this was the 2nd time in 2daysand 4th time it stopped in 2 months.. Car was towed back to bethlehem ford where it stayed 3 days. They said they "updated the computer " and"it may solve the problem."all of this information has been previously forwarded to ford and they told me that "the dealer has done all checks required" and there were "no other reports of this same problem on the '09 taurus". Ha!fortunately, car now has over 10,000 miles on it and hopefully the problem was solved

Engine stops running and has to be restarted. It has happened at least 6 times over 22 months and had it to the dealer 4 times. They have tried several things to solve the problem but to no avail. One time i was going to make a left turn and the only way i noticed the problem was that the car would not turn because the power steering did not work due to the engine failure.

I was a passenger last spring in a 2009 ford taurus sedan and we were traveling down a long incline at approx 60 mph when the engine died leaving the car without power steering or brakes.i told my driving friend to shift into neutral and try starting the car again which he did.we continued without iu=incident the rest of the trip.the incident was harrowing since we were on a mountain in alaska and the road gets very winding at the bottom so i knew we were only seconds from disaster.the conditions were spring weather ~60f and the gas was approx. 50% full and the altitude was approx. 2,000 ft.it was a blue bird day and the car rode fine before and after.i never reported the problem since we.

I just finished renting a ford taurus 2009 from avis which had 1543 miles on it at the start of the rental.during the course of the rental the following occurred.while descending a steep hill on a state highway in easthampton, ma the engine stopped running.i only detected it when the steering got heavy.luckily i was able to bring the vehicle to a halt without the power brakes.afterthe vehicle stopped it was able to be restarted.if the driver had been less physically able the results might have been different, such as a serious crash.

While driving my 2009 ford taurus 83,000mthe breaks hard stop on its own, it was hard enough that if me and my passenger was not wearing our seat belts it would have smashed his face into the dash and my face into my steering wheel, we were on a side street turning left and as i was accelerating the breaks hard stopped on its own. The other time the breaks hard stopped was while turning right once again accelerating andalmost got rear ended on a very busy main street. There was a time i was driving and my car completely shut down/off on its own i was driving 40mph i had to put it in neutral and start it again while the car was still going over 35mpr. I have had this car less than six months there is no warning light on it is very dangerous please fix. Thank you

The car has low miles for the year 42k. The transmission has always been erratic, hard shifting, holding gears for too long.anew problem that is happening, in the morning car clunks extremely hard into second gear. I went to accelerate onto a busy road and the transmission banged so hard it startled us and lost power.there's a safety concern with this because it lost all power and we were almost hit by an approching car. After doing searches on the internet, i found this is a common problem witha lot of ford taurus model. The ford company is apparently aware of this problem in their transmissions and won't do anything about it.i purchased the car with 23k miles on it. As of today, we are concerned about our safety in traffic.

The contact owns a 2009 ford taurus. The contact stated that while reversing out of residential garage, he attempted to shift into drive but the vehicle suddenly accelerated and crashed into a parked vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the pcm was not programmed correctly. As a result, the pcm needed to be reset. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 39,000.

My 2009 taurus lmtd awd 6 speed 3.5 v6 would roll back on a hill quite a bit and if you press the gas, it stalls and you have no brakes. I brought this to the dealer and was told "this is a normal characteristic. The lower idle speed on the car does not overcome the tc slip under that condition. Recommended no repair attempts be made" i have docs on this.another dealer had the same car and it did the same thing, but a 3rd ford dealer was more concerned why it stalled. I was told so it did not hurt the transmission, (verbally told this).

New 2010 ford taurus sel a few weeks old has a dangerous defect in the transmission or clutch mechanism. The problem occurs after stopping in traffic on an inclined street, when traffic starts and you let off the brake to move your foot theaccelerator, the car freely rolls backwards toward the car behind you before you can reasonably apply power with the accelerator to stop the rolling. The transmission is in drive in the circumstances described. This also occurs when parallel parking at a curb where the street is not level. This could result in serious injury to someone who might walk behind the car at the wrong time. The second problem is that after the car is stopped on an unlevel area and put in park, it rolls forward or backward for about a foot or so before the engine torque engages to stop the vehicle. This again presents a danger to persons and property. Bo boeckman ford is the dealer who sold the vehicle to me.the vehicle was tested by them and they agree that the problems described exists, but there is nothing that can be done because the problems are inherent in the transmission design, and they have just had another customer complaint concerning the same problems.

My client, peggy stephenson was a passenger in the front passenger seat of a 2009 ford taurus.she is paralyzed from the waste down and was unaware the seat heater was on for the entire 2 hour drive from phoenix skyharbor airport to sedona, arizona.she subsequently discovered that she sustained 3rd degree burns on the bottom of her buttocks from the seat heater being on.i just read a section of the owner's manual for the car and there is a warning that says in substance that individuals with spinal cord injuries can sustain burns even when the seat heater is used at low temperatures when used for an extended period of time.this owners' manual warning was obviously not read by my client when she entered the rent-a-car.a seat that can burn someone is not acceptable under any circumstances.in addition, a warning should be posted inside the vehicle in plain view since car renters won't read the owner's manual.the car seat heater should be recalled before more injuries occur.ira m. The brakes will activate by themselves with no foot on brake. With no notice it will turn into a full panic stop. Simply driving and all of a sudden the brakes go to full lock. A very very dangerous situation. Once the speed gets below a certain mile per hour it changes. If one stops and turns the engine off and restarts its fine. This started early this year and now has become more frequent. The last 2 times car was driven this has happened. When it is scanned its coming up with 2 u codesp0100-20 and p0121-20

2009 ford taurus. Consumer writes in regards to seeking reimbursement for a defective tire *tgw

While driving my daughter's vehicle it will randomly stall out or shut off. Dash lights come on, and steering locks up. Both times she was able to get to the side of the road. She restarted the car and it ran and drove normal again. She took it to a mechanic and they can't find the problem.this has happened to her twice in the last two months. She has only owned the car for a little over two months. Both times she was driving approximately 45 miles per hour.

The ac blows hot air on the driver side & cold air on the passenger side.the blend door actuator is bad. It's very hard to get to and very expensive to have replaced. I have seen over 100 complaints on multiple years and models of fords. Especially taurus models. Please force ford to fix their mistakes instead of the vehicle owners paying upwards of 600 bucks to have it done.
