I parked my 2001 ford supercrew truck in my driveway at 6 pm.at about 2:45am i woke up to an explosion and found my truck on fire.

I had a ford f-150 supercrew 2001 that went up in flames in my garage while parked and has not ran for 15-30 minutes. I lost both vehicles in the garage along with the contents in the garage.no offcial word is out on what caused the fire in the truck, but the fire was started by the truck somewhere near the engine compartment.

At around 7 p m i parked my ford truck in front of my home. At around 9 p m my wife and i where sitting on our sofa when she noticed flames in front of our house through the window. Upon opening the door we noticed flames coming out under the wheel well and the hood. At that time i retrived a fire extingusher from my truck and put out the fire. I did not call the police of fire dept. As we live in a gated community, and the fire had been put out. The next day i called my insurance agent and proceeded to file a claim. Upon completion of having two car dealers working on it and a rental car, there was over $8,000 worth of expense to my insurance company and i. The insurance company did try to collect from ford for there expense, but it was denied. The exact incident date may be off by a couple of days, i am not sure of the exact time or date.

The cruise control stopped working.now the turn signals, brake lights and back up lights are not working.the mechanic stated there were wires that had burned after checking the vehicle.the consumer made contact with the manufacturer and was not included in the nhtsa cruise control recall 05v017000.15a fuse replaced.brake master cylinder and pressure switch shorted out and melted, leaking brake fluid on to engine compartment.replaced master cylinder and pressure switch.brake fluid cleaned from engine.

I was driving on the highway and the spark plug blew out of the motor and broke the coil. This has happened two more times since. I have never had this happen on any vehicle in my life.

The plug has blown out for some reason, i have owned fords for 30 years.after doing talking to people the 5.4 engine has this problem of plugs blowing out.both my sons and nephew have ford trucks with the 5.4 engine and all have had blown plugs.i am on a fixed income and the cost of this is out of my budget.but i expect ford to stand behind this problem since there has been so many complaints.can't believe ford has not had a recall on this problem.i do expect ford to stand behind its good name.i talked to some police officers and they said that is the reason that the forces are now buying dodge vehicles, i can't believe that ford would let this happen by being the top makers.this news will go nation wide if ford doesn't deal with this problem now.

2001 ford f -150 super crew tritonv8has blown 3 different plugs in the3 years we have owned it it was used when bought my son drove it to the gas station the next night after we bought it first plug blew factory setsecond time was in coventon ky 2nd time 3rd time was coming home yesterday from trip new set of plugs was stuck at a gas station for 2 hours this needs to be fixed some how

2001 f150 caught fire in garage destroying f150, motorcycle next to it, and truck outside garage.moderate fire damage to home, moderate to heavy smoke damage to home.

Developed a sever oil leak on both head gaskets. Dealer repaired at a cost of 2100.00 dollars. Only had 52000 miles.

2001 ford f-150 supercrew. 4.6l triton v8 engine. #3 sparkplug on the passenger side blew out of the head and destroyed the threads making it impossible to replace the plug. 109,000 mi. Original factory installed plugs in vehicle. Never replaced or touched before.

In may and october 2006 the same spark plug on passenger side blew out.both times it required a new plug and coil pack.first time was on trip back from tx to ca.just started truck in vegas and it blew.in october was driving down street home from work and blew.traveling 20 mph.

Oil leak at head gasket.repaired by dealership.what are then chances of this happening again?has this problem caused any damag to the engine?

Without warning, engine began running rough and sounded like an exhaust leak.engine was stopped and restarted.sound got much louder with a bang or clunk under the hood.truck was stopped at that point and towed to ford dealer.they reported the problem to be a "spark plug had blown out" of the cylinder head.the only repair that they recommended was cylinder head replacement, $2700 and one weeks time.a quick look at the internet, placing the words "spark plug blew out" in yahoo search revealed hundreds of instances of plugs blowing out of ford 5.4 and v10 triton engine, most required cylinder replacement.it is reported that ford will not cover the cost of this cylinder head design flaw regardless of mileage.i believe ford should be required to cover all or part of the cost of this repair, as it is not a result of improper operation ar mainteneance but is obviously a cylinder head design flaw.

- the contact stated that while driving the2001 ford supercrewwith 63,000 failure mileage at any rate of speed the check engine light turned on and the engine started to hesitate.the vehicle was taken to the dealer twice.the dealer stated that the coil was defected.the dealer replaced the coil wire and cylinder twice.also, the dealerstated that this wasa common problem with 5.4l engines.the vehicle will be taken to the dealer for the third time on 3/30/2007 for repairs. The current mileage was 66,000.update 4/23/07

When the tilt steering is tilted down, the turn signals will no longer work.i have a friend who has a 2001 ford expedition who has had the same problem except he also lost his driving lights.when he went to have his vehicle repaired, the serviceman told him that he had just repaired another ford vehicle with the same problem

Truck was parked under the carport when it it caught on fire.this was caused by a fuel leakage;also, consumer's house had caught on fire.the fire department was called to extinguish the fire on thehouse.

When slowing down at a intersection and not coming to a complete stop then giving the gas to take off something must be slipping in the drive train, because it feels like some one ran into the back of the truck making a noise.

Right rear seat belt does not function. The latch and buckle will not secure all the time. The release button on the buckle remains depressed.

Rear end collision. My children were in the rear seat of a f150 ford supercrew when we were rearended. Both the children struck their heads on the rear window glass. They had minor neck sprains and discomfort. The lack of rear seat head rests in a 2001 vehicle contributed to their injury. This lack of proper safety equipment in a new vehicle has been fixed in a midmodel correction by ford. I think they should offer a retrofit for other vehicles in the same model year.

Rear seats do not have headrests. In the event of an accident, the rear passengers heads would slam against the rear window. Ford now has rear headrests in there current model. The first 2001 supercrews should have the rear seats upgaded with the safer seats with the headrests. I have had passengers already hit their heads against the rear window. Luckily no one has been injured.

Have not had an incident as of yet, but am concerned about rear seat passengers head hitting the back glass in the event of a rear end collision.

Below is a copy of correspondence i sent to ford on oct. 17, 2006 regarding my concern with the lack of rear seat head restraints in my 2001 ford f150 supercrew. Hello,i purchased a new 2001 f150 supercrew in june 2000.i have a concern with the lack of headrests in the rear seat.i did not notice the lack of headrests when i first bought the vehicle. Then my grandfather subsequently purchased a new supercrew a year or so later.then, when comparing the two trucks i noticed that his truck came with rear head rests.the proximity of the rear window to rear passengers heads is alarming should this vehicle be involved in a front or rear collision.this design flaw could result in severe head trauma should someone''s head impact the rear glass in such an accident.secondarily, rear passenger comfort is compromised as there is no head support.as my two sons are now getting beyond child seats, it has become very evident to me that the rear seat is perhaps as unsafe for a child (as well as an adult) as the front seat (which has a front airbag that i cannot turn off).i suspect that this oversight was evident before the model was first released in 2000 and was quickly corrected as the run began.while i am pursuing putting the responsibility on ford motor company for correcting this issue on vehicles that were sold without rear headrests and the dealer that sold the vehicle, i must in the mean time seek out a solution to ensure my vehicle has a basic level of passenger safety.i am asking for your assistance in identifying any after market, retrofit or add on headrest that would properly and safely affix to the rear seat back in a manner similar to a factor headrest.i will await a timely and thorough response.sincerely, michael peterson244 skopas courtroseville, ca [email protected].

The rear seat has no passenger head rest which, in the event of a collision from the front or the rear will allow the unrestrained heads of passengers to strike the rear window which will result in an injury that may have otherwise been prevented if headrests had been installed.ford recognized this problem but that is after a number of early release models were already in the marketplace.i recommend that a recall be put in place to have the seats retrofitted with headrests. *la

I was driving my 2001 ford f-150 supercrew on oct 7 2005.i had finished coming through a sharp 180 degree turn going approximately 10-15 miles an hour.when i straightened the steering wheel the front of the truck began to shake violently.i was able to get the truck stopped in about 100 feet.when i got out i noticed that the passenger side inner tie rod had broken free from the trucks steering rod and was hanging down.i did not wreck the vehicle, but was shaken up as i had my 4 month old and 3 yr old in the truck with me.i did some research and found that ford had issued a "letter of inspection" that i had not received regarding this issue with the tie rods.the vehicle had to be towed at a cost of $80 and i have to replace the tie rod, but since one failed, i am replacing all the tie rod components, the cost is $164 for parts.i feel that ford needs to recall this vehicle in order to correct the problem.had i been on the highway, traveling at highway speeds we would have rolled the vehicle and possibly been killed, please help.lt dan d'auroraus navy nurse corps.

The paint on my 2001 f-150 supercrew cab truck is cracking (crows feet) the truck is only 37 month old. Was informed that this is a manufacture defect. Ford refuses to fix the problem.

Ball joint boot failure after only 3 years.the boot is deteriorated to the point that is completely torn through.talked toservice tech and he said that was very common.there is also no place to grease the ball joints and they show great wear which is very premature for the age of the vehicle.ball joint failure is eminent and will cause injury or loss of life if not corrected. *la

The paint job on my 2001 f 150 harley davidson truck is cracking (crows feet) all over the hood, roof, front fender panels & also spreading to the doors.

2001 f150 caught fire in garage destroying f150, motorcycle next to it, and truck outside garage.moderate fire damage to home, moderate to heavy smoke damage to home.

Truck caught fire around 4:00 am on 05/17/05 while parked in the driveway.my 5-year-old child awoke and came to our bedroom and awakened us.we saw a glow out the window and looked out the window to find the truck was onfire.i called 911 and attempted to put out the fire with the water hose unsuccessfully until the fire department got there.i then began to water down my wife's and sister-in-law's vehicles which were parked close to the truck and wet down the house which was also close by.the fire department then arrived and put out the fire but the truck was already destroyed.

When approaching a stop, truck accelerates on its own and i am forced to stand on the brakes to stop it. This has happened approximately a dozen times or more. Sometimes it will be a month before another incident. Has happened in reverse also. Always stops accelerating after about 4 seconds. Mostly happens at stop lights or when backing up. Last incident was twice today once at stop light and once backing up in bank parking lot.

2001 f150 crewcab 4dr/4wd 2001 ignited under the hood and caught on fire on its own after resting w/o running for 2 hours.fire department had to put the flames out before the truck exploded.the truck was located next to in-laws home and vehicles. This was reported to ford company and insurance. Within the next 2 days, a nationwide recall was sent out that included my truck. My truck had been taken to the ford dealership in the past year and i was told it did not fit into this recall at the given time. Fire investigator for insurance has identified the cruise control as the problem.i did not have any intentions of selling or trading this vehicle and kept it in excellent condition. Ford motor company should be held responsible for replacing my truck withabrand new truck of the same model.
