Right after that he got a notice in the mail that the passenger airbag was faulty and is being recalled to fix this problem. I have tried to get it replaced but ford motor co. Just keeps giving me the run around by saying the part has not come in yet. Its been three years since my brother got this notice. I have called them several times. Same response each time. Don,t have the part in. This vehicle has not been in an accident, but i have a son who does ride with me from time to time. What can i do to have this taken care of by the ford motor co.? the month date and year i will fill that in when he first got the recall notice for if i don,t put a datein the space provided below it won,t allow me to go to next step.

I have received three airbag safety recall notices 18s01 with hone number 866-436-7332 & 866-436-7332 but when i call they do not recognize the recall number so am not able to schedule an appointment.my second problem is i live in alaska on an island the nearest ford dealer is 300 miles by ferry it takes about 14 hours one way to get to a dealer for repairs.even if i get approval it would cost at least $1000. For ferry ticket for the car and driver, hotel, food to get to juneau.i would appricate a reply on the raecall issue from you.

Ford mailed me "safety recall notice 17s01 / nhtsa recall 17v-024". As of apr 15, 2018 i have not been notified by ford that the recall service can be performed. On my own, working through the ford parts website, i tried to order a replacement part. They had none for my vehicle.after 13 months (my opinion of reasonable time) of waiting; i'm wondering if the defective airbag system could be deactivated, giving the driver and a passenger the benefit of at least a seatbeltwithout the fear of shrapnel until the airbag function could be safely restored.

I have called repeatedly for the recall.each time i am told they have no idea when they will make the repairs.i just received notice that takata is in bankruptcy.i continue to drive in an unsafe vehicle.i would like for ford to make its vehicles safe for its drivers.

Takata this has been on recall for almost 2 years without a fix and i was told takata filed chapter 11 and because i live in a low humid location (s.west) i will be one of the last to be repaired and it does not matter that i drive to high humidity location!i have to fear that i may die as a result of using my only vehicle to go to and from work etc.totally unacceptable that there is not a fix and so many people have died.i do not want to be the next death!

I received a recall notice about my 2009 ford ranger passenger side defective airbag inflator. I went to www.airbagrecall.com to find an authorized dealership to replace the defective airbag inflator on the passenger side. I made an appointment at the bill talley ford, inc. 6280 mechanicsville turnpike, mechanicsville (804) 746-2000. I brought my truck in on thursday, november 30, 2017. I was told by the service manager that the airbag inflator replacement part would not be available until three years from now. My truck did not get an airbag inflator replacement part.

The latest letter, april 2018 again said that parts were available and to bring my truck in for repair.i have called both galpin ford and sunrise ford and they claim they do not have the parts and there is no eta for their arrival. Takatqa recall.in july, 2016 i received a letter from ford motor company advising me of the recall on my ford ranger due to the takata airbag inflator safety issue, but giving no additional information.on december 28, 2017, (17 months later) i received a follow-up letter saying that parts are still not available, but until parts become available i should not allow anyone to set in the front passenger seat.the letters give no estimation of when the parts may become available.this delay in repairing a deadly serious defect is unacceptable!this makes my ranger practically unusable since i cannot allow a passenger in that seat nor can i put a briefcase or other object in the seat since either action could cause the airbag to inflate in an accident .thank you.

2009 ford ranger.consumer writes in regards to replacement parts not available to repair defective front passenger airbag inflator recall notice.

"takata recall" my passenger air bag notification warning letter is attached to my passenger sun visor. When seen by most potential passengers they refuse to ride in this vehicle. I have suffered a loss of passenger space because of this hazardous defect. Along with repair needed asap, i feel compensation for this delay is due.

Takata recall-ford is taking way to long to replace these defective airbags! every day that passesputs everyone with an affected vehicle at greater risk of injury or death. Make ford fix this now!

I received a passenger side air bag recall from ford several months ago. Ford stated they would contact me when the repair parts became available. They never did. Recently i received a letter from tk holdings inc., (representing takata corporation) that they have filed for chapter 11 and that i should contact my dealer to get the repair done. I made an appointment with galpin ford on 11/28/1017 to get the necessary repair. They called me back and stated that no parts were available to fix the issue. So. I am knowingly driving around with a dangerous potentially lethal issue with no recourse. I feel that if ford cannot fix my truck (bought new from ford) that they should buy the car back from me or replace the truck as if a lemon law applied. The value of this truck has been substantially lowered by ford's negligence.

Takata recall- i am unable to safely carry any passengers due to the recall on my truck. The recall was dated june 1, 2016. This is over a year ago. This puts an undue stress on me, family and friends not to be able to utilize the passenger seat of my vehicle.

Takata recall.i went to the nearest ford dealer to see if they would fix my truck.they said that they did not have the parts to replace the air bags and that ford would call me when they had the parts and that was back in april of 2017. On 2/28/18 i sent a letter explaining what had happen when i called ford. As of today i have not received response to my letter.i did received another document stating that i should not have an passengers on the truck because it may cause serious injury. Fordhas not even tried to contact us and let us know whatthey plan to do tosolve this problem.so only one person can use the truck at this time..my wife is the one that drives the truck to work since she works far and we cansaves gas but i am afraid that she if she has an accident she could be seriously hurt. I have provided them with my wife phone and our home phone number so they can talk to her with any questions but no response from ford.thank you

Though i received a letter dated july 2016 from ford about the airbag safety recall and have called the local dealer periodically about scheduling the recall replacement airbag, the ford dealer has stated over and over, "we'll notify you when we have the replacement in stock".it has now been 17 months since the ford letter and i have yet to receive a call or letter from the local dealer about this situation.

Takata recall. I was notified of a danger in july 2016. This vehicle is driven daily for business by my granson and i am afraid hislife is in danger daily. How can i let him drive this dangerous vehicle? how can i get ford to buy it back? my familybusiness depends upon this truck yet i want this truck out of my life.honda had a similar recall and theirs were remedied immediately. How much is a life worth? i cannot believe that ford cannot get this taken care of. This is one of 2 fords that i own and i certainly can't get rid of them with this mess in place. Shouldn't ford be acting just a bit quicker? any advice would be greatly appreciated because at this point, i feel that ford is criminally negligent!

Takata recall: i received information in june of 2016 to take the ranger in for the airbag recall. I just confirmed there are still no parts available for this recall. It is unexceptable to receive a recall notice and have to wait over 1 year and still no parts. I am concerned about the safety of the passenger.

Takata recall, ford motor company sent me a letter in the mail stating that there is a recall on my vehicle for the passenger airbag. I received this letter in march of 2017 and as of today oct,27,2017 there is no solution for the recall. Ford states that my vehicle is safe to drive along as i don't get into an accident that would set of the airbags. The following paragraph is from the letter i received from ford. [on your vehicle, the passenger frontal airbag inflator may rupture in the event of a crash necessitating airbag deployment. A ruptured inflator may result in metal fragments striking vehicle occupants causing serious injury or death.]

I got a letter from ford motor company dtd july 2016. Stated air bag was defective and ford was going to replace air bag. Takata recalli own a 2009 ford ranger.around june 2016 i was notified that the takata airbag has been recalled and ford will replace it.i checked their website continually to get the latest update and nothing had changed.in december 2017, i received a letter stating that the airbag may rupture during deployment so it is advised that no one be allowed to sit in the passenger seat until the airbag has been replaced.it also stated that remedy parts have been delayed and will be available for certain vehicles in spring 2018.i contacted ford for further information.i asked if my vehicle airbag will be replaced in spring and if not, then when.they stated that they did not have any further details than what was stated in the letter.i then informed them that i need my passenger seat to be available for business purposes and that either they should remove the airbag, provide me with a loaner vehicle, or pay for any out of pocket expenses that i may incur for having to rent another vehicle for business purposes or for having to hire uber for passengers.they stated that they would not offer me any assistance other than replacing the airbag, which they will not even provide me with a date or time frame of when that will occur.when i originally purchased my vehicle, i purchased a 2 seat vehicle.it has now become a 1 seat vehicle according to ford's letter, which is not what i purchased.i have been driving around with passengers during the period june 2016 to dec 2017 unaware of the risk because ford failed to notify me of the danger until dec 2017.thankfully, there has been no situation that would have caused deployment of the airbag.it has been 1 1/2 years and ford has done absolutely nothing to remedy this situation.they placed a faulty airbag in my vehicle and they have made it my problem. Ford is unwilling to correct their problem.

I call dealer for recall airbag but they said no part for recall

Tafata recall. We received the recall notice in march, 2017 and contacted a local ford dealership to have the repair made. After the person looked up our vehicle in his computer, he replied that "it's only the passenger air bag that's affected, so don't worry, they only "go off" in hot and humid climates, and since pennsylvania isn't considered a hot and humid climate, it probably won't go off". He essentially refused this repair on our vehicle. And, now we receive notice that takata has filed for bankruptcy, so where does that leave us? i do want to note that we purchased the car in another state, but apparently that doesn't matter per the recall notice. It states to contact a local ford or lincoln dealership to request a free repair. I would like to know when this repair can be made and hopefully, before it kills or maims someone in the vehicle, or i do reserve the right to sue ford, takata and the local ford dealership for all they are worth.

Loss of turn signal to the right issue with the multy switch

The radio has been turning on and off since it was bought new. The dashboard dims off and on and illuminates the battery light off and on. The headlights and blinkers and break lights come in and out and don't always work.it has been taken into the dealership several times repeatedly for years and none of the service techs can tell me what's wrong. They don't know how to fix it.

Engine burning antifreeze, white smoke out of tailpipe, after a trip to the mechanic shop,a ford company dealer near me.i was told this is a know problem with the v6 engine manufacturing due to poor metal quality for this particular engine code e.in must cases the repair involves engine replacement or installing a re manufactured cylinder head at a very high cost.quality of the workmanship seems very poor.engine mileage 91k miles which is not normal for engines to fail at such a low mileage.

Exact same problem as nhtsa campaign id 11v126000.engine shroud penetratedhigh pressure fuel line, with fuel spraying out of line. Cannot believe vehicle did not catch on fire. Our 2009 ford ranger vin # not covered by recall - it should be.ford refuses to acknowledge the problem or cover the repair for our vin #.part # reference [xxx].we filed a complaint with ford customer service - case # [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2009 ford ranger.the contact discovered rust on the motor mounts and the steering pump of his vehicle.the dealer called the manufacturer and was informed that they would not replace the parts until they failed.the vehicle was purchased new on july 18, 2009, but they would not cover the failure under the warranty.the contact left the vehicle at the dealer because he refused to drive it back home; however, they still refused to make repairs.the failure mileage was 975 and current mileage was 1,075.

The contact owns a 2009 ford ranger. The contact stated that when depressing the brakes, the steering wheel would shake abnormally. The vehicle was inspected by the dealer and the contact was advised that the rotors would need to be turned. In addition, there was coolant leaking from the vehicle and bubbling through the head gasket when the vehicle was in motion. The dealer repaired the steering failure but advised that the head gasket and coolant failure was normal and did not need repairing. The failure mileage was 1500.

The engine speed will not return to idle speed until the vehicle comes to a complete stop. Idle speed 825rpm hot2000rpm cold1200rpm while the vehicle is rolling this event makes it very difficult to stop the vehicle(more so on slippery roads)constant andexcessive use of the brakes.. I have told this to the dealer and they have said that this is a normal condition, there is no adjustment. They say that they have checked into the problem.

The contact owns a 2009 ford ranger. The contact stated that while driving 5 mph and attempting to shift gears, the clutch engaged prematurely, which prevented it from shifting. As a result, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnosed the failurebut decided to replace the clutch as a temporary fix. The remedy failed to repair the problem. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who stated that they would contact him at a later date. The vehicle was not further repaired. The failure mileage was 25,000 and current mileage was 37,000.updated 11/07/11 updated 06/14/2012

Purchased a 2009 ford ranger in july 2010.twice since then when i come toa stop the rpm's still revs and i have to put the truck into neutral. I have had the dealer check it out be can't find any problem.

The contact owns a 2009 ford ranger. The contact stated that when the clutch was depressed, in the vehicle would accelerate before the clutch was released. The vehicle could not be taken out of gear when the failure would occur and the vehicle would have to be turned off completely.the contact stated that there could be air in the hydraulic system of the clutch. The clutch was replaced yet the failure recurred. The clutch was replaced a second time but yet again, the failure persisted.the current mileage was 37,000 and the failure mileage was unknown.

Takata recall.i went to the nearest ford dealer to see if they would fix my truck.they said that they did not have the parts to replace the air bags and that ford would call me when they had the parts and that was back in april of 2017. I also received a card stating that they had file for chapter 11.i have done several calls to the ford dealer in rsm to check if they have received the parts with no luck.never received a call about the problem with the transition. On 2/28/18 i sent a letter explaining what had happen when i called ford. As of today i have not received response to my letter.i did received another document stating that i should not have an passengers on the truck because it may cause serious injury. Driver side hub assembly came apart causing the brakes to lock up with a sudden stop almost causing an accident.higher speeds would have caused a major accident.

My parents 2009 ford ranger has had an ongoing issue with the brakes. We took it to the local ford dealership and they diagnosed the problem as a wheel speed sensor was not working. They installed it and it didn't resolve the problem! on day two, they came up with a new diagnosis that the tone/exciter ring was damaged by a previous mechanic/brake job. The truck has less than 35,000 miles. They wanted another $400 to replace the tone ring. I declined because it was way too much money after paying $300 for the sensor. They said they couldn't warranty their work, afterwards, i began to research ford brake issues, and specifically abs & tone ring issues. It turns out, that after looking at various youtube videos, ford forumns, articles, etc. I learned that ford has had significant abs issues especially in 2008 and 2009. Even more interesting was the fact that many models have had the same problems (focus and escape) and have may have been recalled. Not 100% sure, but the ranger has not. Basically, the tone ring is attached to the wheel hub/axle and spins with the tire. This creates a magnetic field wherein the sensor determines the speed of the wheel. If the tone ring is damaged, the sensor sends various error codes to the ecm at which point the abs brake will disengage the brakes on the wheel affected. And then it will engage the brakes, and repeat this until the vehicle comes to a stop. Essentially, the abs system overrides the break pedal and you lose braking ability on that wheel. Not only that, with my vehicle, the abs warning lights have never come on; even after they replaced the sensor. The vehicle is getting worse. At every stop it's making noises and it's harder to stop the vehicle. As i said earlier, the theory is the corrosion of the axle is breaking the ring, which is another non rusting metal, i'm pretty sure the dealership did not examine the ring. Help!!!!

I brought my 2009 ranger to the dealer for a safety inspection and oil change and during the inspection it was noted that the front brake rotors had substantial pitting and scoring on the in-board side of the rotor.the vehicle failed inspection and required replacement of the rotors.it was noted that the pads showed only 30% wear and the vehicle has only 27159 miles at the time of the service.i haven't found any other mention of these factory rotors failing in such a short period of time and never in all the ford and other vehicles i've owned would the rotors need to be replaced after so few miles with so little wear on the pads.i had the parts saved and there are pieces missing from the surface that look to me like large flakes of the surface had worn away from the assembly.i'd like to know if this has been a problem for anyone else with this brand of factory installed rotors.

Immediately after purchasing 2009 ranger xlt, noticed excessive dirt on front wheel rims. Complained about it to dealer first time i took the truck in for an oil change, also complained that i wasn't getting mileage expected. Was told it was just brake dust, it would easily come off with tire cleaner & hose, & truck needed to be broken in for mileage improvement. I kept complaining that brake dust seemed excessive to me, never had problem before. Installed ceramic brake pads, didn't help. Within first year noticed steering wheel vibrating & dealer said i had to have new pads & rotors $400. I complained again that something else must be wrong with brakes. I don't drive dusty roads, don't ride the break, don't drive excessive miles (72,000 in 5 yrs.). Within 6 months noticed steering wheel vibrating when stopping, soon needed pads & rotors again. Have had to have 5 brake jobs in last 5 years costing me over $2000. Have taken it to ford dealers & independents each telling them i want it solved, not just to slap on new parts. No one bothers to listen to me, charge me over $400 each time & 3-6 months later the rotors are warped again and brake pads wear out soon after. "brake dust" had ruined rims on the truck.

The contact owns a 2009 ford ranger. While driving at 55 mph, the front end of the vehicle began to wobble. While depressing the brake pedal, the contact heard a grinding noise coming from the rotors of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the rotors were changed; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 36,000.

Traveling home from a trip out of town, we experienced a slight pull to the right, which only happened once at the beginning of our trip. We were thinking it may be time for an alignment.as we were traveling home, we stopped for gas and upon returning to the expressway and gaining speed, something in the front right of the truck snapped.there was a loud noise and then the truck veered severely to the right.as we attempted to regain control of the truck it slammed into the concrete wall dividing the highways.my husband and i both have multiple bruises, along with quite a bit of pain at the moment.we were very fortunate to have walked away from this accident. The truck is a total loss and quite scary to look at. I do have pictures available if requested.

The contact owns a 2009 ford ranger.while driving various speeds, the vehicle vibrates excessively.the contact took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated that it was a normal characteristic of the vehicle.the failure has not been remedied.he called the manufacturer, but has not received a response.the failure mileage was 12 and current mileage was 4,140.updated 06/09/09 the consumer stated the truck ran at 850 rpm and needs to be at 950 rpm. The dealer informed him, that would require reprogramming computer. Updated 06/10/09.

A 2009 ford ranger was purchased as a replacement for a toyota tacoma that was subject to the manufacturer buy-back program for defective frame steel resulting in excessive corrosion.the 2009 ranger has now failed the vermont vehicle inspection for excessive frame rust in several locations.this ranger has 34,000 miles on it and may not be repairable (will be determined in the near future by the regional ford dealership.)in my opinion, a vehicle with 34,000 miles should not be presenting this level of corrosion.please investigate this defect.

Notified by person driving behind me my spare tire was going to fall out.stopped and had someone look at it and the bed of my ford ranger had rusted out and if i hadn't stopped it would have fallen out on the highway.we examined under truck and the whole back bed is rusted out.

Both doors on my ford ranger 2009 froze shut, and i couldn't open them. This happened twice with the first cold weather. I put some silicone spray over the black seal. I owned other vehicles, and never had this problem. We are old, and this vehicle is not a year old. Why does the water freeze so quickly, is this a faulty design? winter weather has just started. Thank you

Loss of turn signal to the right issue with the multy switch

The frame on my truck has rust holes throughout the spare tire section all the way to the front cross member sorrounding the front differential. The radiator support and battery support are holding on by rust as well. The bed frame has supports that hold fenders on and they're rusted out. Ford needs to be held responsible. My truck cannot be the only one out there rusting this bad this quick! it's very unusual. Va state police weren't any help other than telling me it's a civil suit between me and the seller. I think it's more than that.

Trouble was first noticed in late february, 2010, and the problem has progressively gotten worse. While driving, after gas pedal is released, truck does not start to slow down for up to a half mile while traversing a level surface, depending on speed. Truck will not slow or even maintain speed while on gentle downhill - the truck will increase in speed. When new, the truck would slow down on the fore-mentioned gentle down-hill slopes. With foot off gas pedal, the rpms will not drop like the rpms did when vehicle was new. While driving, i can push in clutch with my foot off the gas pedal and the rpms will do one of two different behaviors; the rpms will either remain at about the same rpms as the rpms were while driving for several second to over a minute after disengaging the clutch, or, the rpms will increase 500 to 1000 for several second to over a minute after disengaging the clutch before settling down to 750 rpms, which is the normal idle speed. A third behavior is developing. This additional behavior is: after the rpms have been elevated for several second, the rpms will begin to fluctuate between 1500 rpms and 3000 rpms and the rpms will continue to fluctuate for several more seconds to over a minute before settling down to 750 rpms. While at red lights with the vehicle out of gear, the rpms will remain elevated or fluctuate as descried during the entire light cycle. On march 25, 2010, i took the vehicle to the crossroads ford dealer in cary, nc to have a mechanic inspect the truck. Mechanic stated that he did experience the problems with the rpms, however, everything was 'inside specs' and that the vehicle was working as intended.dealer's representative stated that they contacted ford about problem; i have heard nothing from dealer. Mechanic inspected vehicle when vehicle had about 29,000 miles, trouble started when truck had about 24,000 miles.

The contact owns a 2009 ford ranger. The contact stated that the vehicle intermittently attempted to surge forward shortly after the vehicle was started. The contact stated that the vehicle operated as normal moments after being started until the clutch was engaged. When the clutch was engaged, the engine revved untilthe vehicle was shut off. The failure occurred on an intermittent basis. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership on numerous occasions where various components in the engine were replaced. However, the failure continued to occur. The failure mileage was 1,001. The current mileage was approximately 2,900. Updated 10/28/10. *ljthe consumer stated through arbitration , ford purchased the vehicle back from the consumer and it was returned to the dealer.updated 10/28/10
