The driver's side airbag has been replaced but not the passenger side and every time i contact the dealership about this issue, i am told that the airbags are not available yet and they have no idea when they will be available.

Takata recall - airbags have not been available since 2016.what are we supposed to do when it affects all your vehicles?

I received notification regarding a recall in july 2015 for a recall on defective driver air bags.once i received the notification i contacted the ford dealership at a local level to address the problem and to ensure my safety god for bid an accident were to occur.they stated they couldn't address defect until they had been approved from the ford i am assuming corp. And to call back in several weeks.i have with no luckand called again today 10-9-15 only to be told they aren't able to change the air bag until further notice.so i am wondering why it's taking over 3 months to correct the issue.please know it is somewhat alarming that there's a chance if the air bag erupted it could potentially kill or severely injure me. Thank you for your time please let me know what to expect and when this matter will be resolved.thank you again.

Takata recall.ford has yet to fix my passenger side airbag.they predict they "might have" replacement parts in the spring of 2018 but the letter received only states select vehicles.their remedy is to not have anyone sit in the passenger seat.it is a ford mustang.the backseat is not big at all and is only comfortable if you have a double amputee back their.how is my wife who is claustrophobic supposed to ride with me?this is not acceptable.this will also effect if i ever want to trade it in or resell my vehicle as it is a potential death trap for a passenger.ford has taken a 4 passenger car that is really only for 2 people comfortable and made it a one seater.

Takata recall on june 22, 2015 i emailed ford`s customer relationship center regarding the takata air bag recall and that time it was verified that my vehicle was involved in the safety recall program 15s21. I was also advised: "we encourage you to bring your vehicle in for service as soon as you are notified that parts are available, but that you should continue to drive your vehicle until then. I received "important safety recall" notice 15s21 nhtsa recall 15v-319 dated july 2015. I again emailed ford's crc in november 2015 and was "offered sincere apologies for the delay" and that they are still working with their suppliers to expedite parts. It has been well over 6 months now with no resolution in sight and i find it irresponsible of ford to advise people too continue to drive their vehicles in this condition, especially owners like me living in a high heat, humid climate area which, allegedly, causes propellant wafers break down. I believe it has been an unreasonable amount of time waiting for a repair and ford should consider compensating those who fall under the safety recall. For now, my 2009 mustang sits. I'm unable to drive or sell it due to the safety issue.it is my understanding that there was another death back in december 2015 due to a faulty takata airbag inflator? when will there be a fix for this?

Takata recallmy 2009 mustang recently had a repaired driver side airbag. From the takata court docs it looks like a passenger front airbag is coming. My car is due for a state inspection but wont pass because of an airbag dash light. After research i found a ford tsb 10-23-8 that shows this year vehicle has driver and passenger side air bag issues also and a symptom is the dash warning light and cde 23. I cant drive my car since its rejected but id like more research into this tsb to see if a recall is waranted. Dealer wants to charge $600 to replace each side. $1200 total. I feel this is a public safety issue and should be remedied by ford. Help...

Takata recall for over 1 1/ 2 years and still no parts are available for this recall!

It has been 9 months now and parts still are not available?i am not understanding why.this is a known safety hazard.

Called dealer several times, keeps saying parts are unavailable-keep getting danger defective mailings- how can i get fixed if no parts??????????

I do not know if this involves a "takata inflator".i received a ford motor company safety recall notice postmarked july 24, 2015 indicating my 2009 mustang was subject to recall for a defective front driver side air bag inflator housing.i heard nothing more from ford so in late september 2015 i telephoned the ford customer service. Customer service told me that there was no action being taken to replace the part on my vehicle.i asked why nothing had been done for two months since the notice and the ford motor co. Customer representative informed me that ford was "taking quotes" for the replacement, which suggested to me that ford is looking for the cheapest way to fix this problem.in light of the dangerous nature of this problem, as the notice states: "an inflator rupture could result in . . . Serious injury or death.", i think this is an outrageous corporate decision.now i read in the last two weeks about the money ford is spending on new models, new plants and other investments other than the dangerous products already on the road like my car.i want this dangerous and defective part replaced on my vehicle now before i or a passenger receives "serious injury or death".

Takata airbag recall has yet to be resolved. Dealer has no info on actions to be taken.

Takata recall - i have called both gresham ford and landcaster ford since my first notice on july 2016. Both have told me the part is unavailable and being made and that they will contact me for replacementas soon as they become available. As of yet have not had any action.

Takata recallrecall title: takata non-desiccated phased stabilized ammonium nitrate (psan) passenger frontal airbag inflatorsnhtsa recall number: 16v384almost one year ago my passenger airbag was recalled. It is taking too long for a remedy to become available. If a timely repair is not feasible, takata and ford should provide monetary relief. This delay is unacceptable.

Greenway ford replaced my driver airbag in a timely manner, however i have contacted greenway ford in orlando, fl several times to schedule the replacement of my passenger and side airbags.as of the last inquiry on sept 16, 2017 hey are saying they don't have the parts. Now i see that takata is filing bankruptcy and will deny liability.i am concerned about not having these airbags replaced. Are there any other options?

I received a recall notice of th airbag not being safe an sierious injury could occur if in an acident. Called to scheduled an appointment ,one airbag has been replaced. Was told it would be alright to drive car, been almost a year still no response on repair. Feel luck is running out on when something serious is going to go wrong. Dealer really don'twant to deal with me, excuse after excuse.

Takata recalli have taken the car in twice to address the recall but the ford dealer keeps telling me the parts are unavailable. The last time they told me they were distributing the recall parts beginning in the south and working northward (we live in ohio) whether that is true or not. There are 2 recalls an neither have been addressed in over a year and a half. Our teenage daughter drives this car. Please help. We tried to trade it in and was told since there are outstanding recalls that the value is lessened. That is not right.

Takata recall- i took my vehicle to autonation in memphis tennessee and they wanted to charge me just for diagnosing the vehicle. My airbag light is on and i was thought that it was free of charge since there is a recall.

Takata recall...air bag recall is incomplete, remedy not available yet. Went to dealerships for repairs and they said they have no parts to make necessary repairs and to call on occasion to get updates. My concern is, why is this issue not getting resolved before something happens to me or my loved ones? nhtsa # 17v024manufacturer # 17s01

We have contacted multiple dealerships over the last two years and no one ever has the parts to correct the airbag inflator problem

Takata recall;i received a letter from ford motor company in july of 2016 that informed me of a safety recall (16s26 / nhtsa recall 16v-384) that affects my vehicle and further states that should there be an airbag deployment, a ruptured inflator may cause serious injury or death.i have not yet been contacted for the replacement inflator and i have visited my local dealership on two occasions to status the recall.i was interested in having the passenger side inflator deactivated until the repair was accomplished but the dealership representative stated they were not authorized to deactivate.therefore, i need your authorization to allow ford to deactivate the passenger side inflator immediately and until the recall has been satisfied.

About a month after my purchase of my new mustang in 2009, i had an issue with my air bag light coming on all the time.i took it in while under warranty to get it fixed.it took the ford house 2 months to fix the problem.4 years later same issue.air bag light is coming on.no warranty at this time to get it check out.i've noticed that it has been a common issue or at least with faulty air bags.i'm afraid i may have the same issue if i am ever in a car accident.i feel that ford should be responsible for correcting the same issue as of 4 years ago.call it a warning sign that it may very well be a faulty air bag issue.to be continued.

Takata recall i have not received information from a dealership saying that my air bag recall can be fixed.they just continually say we do not have the part yet to fix the recall on your airbag. I fear for my life and my passengers life if this recall on the airbag is not fixed.

Takata recall - according to the nhtsa.gov website, "the passenger frontal airbag inflator could rupture if the vehicle is involved in a crash where the supplemental frontal airbags are designed to deploy" ...since this recall was issued on 06/01/2016 and the remedy is not yet available, this problem has not been addressed in a timely manner!my wife and i are extremely concerned about the safety of our son driving this vehicle (age 22).this is especially true because we live in the houston area and there is a high level of humidity here in this environment.i want ford to address this issue asap!

Takata airbag:i have been waiting for 16 months for a replacement.my dealership is unable to get or order parts.this issue has not been resolved in a timely manner. I am unable to not to use my vehicle until it is safe and the passengers i drive with are precious.

I was traveling at about 40 mph in mid morning traffic. I went through a traffic signal on a city street at which time my engine accelerated at a high rpm. I could not control the vehicle or stop it even though i had depressed the brake pedal. I did lose control of my vehicle, spun around totally my vehicle and another and then stopping against guide wire. The engine was still revving when the car stopped. No airbags deployed and i was transported by ems to the er.

Have been waiting since 2016 for the passenger air bag to be replaced. Dealer i use advised that they have not received any passenger air bags.

I had the drivers side air bag replaced on my mustang by a dealership, but i have not been able to get the passenger side airbag replaced. All of the dealers in my area keep telling me the part is not in stock for the passenger side airbag. Now they say they will call me, but i have not received a call back from any of the dealerships. The car is being driven on city streets and highways. I don't have a current picture of the mustang but it is in very good shape.

Computer system check indicated srs light on code 22.this code is for a faulty side airbag module/harness.the side air bag is built into the driver seat.there was a service bulletin tsb 09-8-7 regarding the wire harness that is stretching the wire to the air bag module.this safety issue should be added to the recall list. The tsb file is 7mb therefore here is the link to the tsb 09-8-7 http://kerrymitchell.net/mustang/documents/tsb/tsb09-08-07.pdf, please copy and paste on browser to open the file.please investigate. Thank you.

Have had side air bag light on for 3 months bought the car with 46k on clock and after a year the light flashes every time i turn the car on and does not go off ford says not to drive and bring to stealership o i mean dealership so i can give them $2k to fix issue yea right with all the airbag news going around the past year you would think they would fix this problem before some family dies because there airbag's didn't open and ford wouldn't issue a recall to fix the problem with.

Takata recall:notice received july 2016!! no notice of part available now 01/12/2017. Waited over 8 months for driver's side-repaired at my expense!! seems buying the parts is not a problem for ford.what the [xxx] is wrong with ford!! subaru seems to get theirs done in a timely fashion, why is ford unable to.lives are atrisk and ford does not give a [xxx]!!!information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

Takata recall ford not getting the passenger side air bag recall done is not acceptable.it is approaching 2 years and they still have not gotten the parts to repair my car.this will be the last ford product i will buy if this is not handled shortly.please do some pushing and shoving somewhere.thanksken

Takata recallremedy not yet available, but it's been a year and a half (recall made june 1, 2016)

The vehicle is only 2 years old and the airbags light is flashing per the ford dealer the airbags are not operational. Ford indicates this is not covered under warranty due to the car being 6000 miles out of warranty so if i am involved in a crash i will not be protected by the airbags, after reading online complaints this appears to be a common occurrence on 2007 to 2011 mustangs.

Takata recall. In the event of the crash, the airbags did not deploy. I was driving in a foot of snow in a mall parking lot going the parking lot speed limit and as i was coming to a yield to turn, i run over the curb that was covered in the snow. The curb was about 3 feet across and i did not clear the distance so i was stuck on the curb top. The car shut off during this event and i hit my head on the windshield hard enough to cause damage as seen in the photo provided because the seat belt i had equipped provided no safety either. The end result is: airbag dash light is illuminated and the functions of the steering wheel does not operate. Moderate to slightly severe concussion.

Takata airbag.i am trying to understand why it has taken over year between the notification from ford and the estimated time of repair.ford has indicated our car will be repaired sometime in the july timeframe.why have other car manufacturers seemed to have moved much quicker in obtaining parts and are further along with repairs?

My vehicle is one of the vehicles that have been recalled by ford motor company in july 2015.i have called on 5 occasions trying to get the issue taken care of.however, the local dealer said ford has not gotten the part in thus far, which because of the safety issue endangers my life and potentially who is in the car with me lives if in fact an accident occurs if this happens to be a defected air bag that shoot out metals.it is a gamble i do not wish to take.i think 7 months is an unreasonable amount of time to wait on part to correct the situation.therefore i think ford should have to supply me with a rental car free of charge and i can put my car in the garage until they complete there obligation in addressing this issue but fixing the problem.ford sent out the notification in july however, this problem existed longbefore then and i certain went through a ton of litigation before responsibility was acknowledged, so please help my safety and those i love.thank you.

Received safety recall notice 16s26 / 16v-384 and scheduled a service date with my dealer, shultz ford in wexford, pa, but they said the part is on backorder.please help and resolve so i can use my vehicle.

Takata recall - part replacement for this used car is still outstanding. (is ford creating the replacement inflator as has been informally reported?)vin number was not found in nhtsa listing, which concerns me greatly, so will i still be informed when replacement part(s) available since this has now been reported?!the car is a convertible(cv) if that makes any difference. Would like to have part replaced immediately as three people, including two children, are transported in car every day, and the inflator issue is very concerning.the delay in replacement is unacceptable in my view. Parts should be replaced asap!!please treat replacement with real urgency and let the author have frequent updates via mail or e-mail.

My son was pulling the car into the garage which is a short distance from driveway into the garage. The car suddenly accelerated to a high speed. He stepped on the brake and pulled the emergency brake but the car would not slow down or stop. He rammed into a weight machine and cabinet in the garage which stopped the car. The car was put into park but the engine was still revving. There was front end damage across the entire front bumper and the air bag did not go off. This incident was reported to the ford motor co and i requested an inspector to come and examine the vehicle's gas pedal, brake override and air bags for defects but they have not been very cooperative. I do not want to have just the body work done and then be put back into the car and have the situation happen again.

Takata recall-i have a 2009 ford mustang roush 429r that is being affected by the takata recall on both airbags. I have received a note that the driver side airbag will be fixed, but was told the passenger is not ready. I have been trying to sale my car for a year, due to husband being laid off and financial hardship. I am unable to sale my car due to this recall and when i discussed with ford, the dealership told me that my car will never have the recall fixed, that its an impossible fix. They told me that my car is worthless and if they bought it, they could pay me for my roush parts and then total out the car. What right as an owner do i have, that i have paid for a $40 thousand dollar car, i only have 8600 miles on it, and besides the recall estimated value is around $35,000 to $40,000 due to it being #78 of 100 made, but am being told sorry because of this recall your car is worthless and there is nothing that can be done.what right as an owner do i have?if my car is not safe enough to sale, how is it safe enough to drive? how does a 1 income family have a car just sit in the drive way costing money, not able to drive due to safety, and cant sale related to recall. This has become such a huge financial burden, causing increase stress related to not being able to pay other bills. I have already contacted the dealership and management there and all i get is, "we are so sorry, but we cant help you"

Nhtsa recall:i am having a hdifficult time having my car repaired. The dealers keep telling me that there is a part shortage regarding this recall. I have been trying to have this fixed for over a year.

Takata recallmy 2009 mustang has a defective passenger seat occupancy sensor. When no one is seated the airbag flashes code 16. When i fasten the belt on that side still unoccupied, the fault code stops, but the center dash lights up indicating passenger airbag is off. My research shows the problem is not unique to my car, and that it has and is an ongoing issue with many cars not just ford. This vehicle is on the takata recall for drivers airbag replacement since march of 2015. As yet ford does not have replacement parts. I believe the passenger seat cushion assembly which includes the bladder, sensor, and ecm should also be recalled. I live in hawaii (high humidity) and research has shown this to be the root cause of the failures. At this point the vehicle is completely unsafe for the driver and passenger in the event of an accident, the drivers airbag has the potential to cause serious injury or death, and the passenger airbag may or may not deploy or effectively prevent injury or death. Please respond with any direction.

"takata recall" i was driving my 2009 ford mustang on a neighborhood street 30 mph, when i turned a corner (10 mph) i attempted to honk my horn and the passenger airbag deployed, my car accelerated with a hard right straight into a dumpster damaging the drivers side of the vehicle, the drivers side airbag did not deploy. I had purchased the car 6 months before this accident and the horn had not worked, we did not know there was a recall on the airbag at this time. This accident could have killed someone because the car became uncontrollable, the impact was so forceful it bent the frame of the car the damage to the vehicle is estimated at $7000.00.

Takata recall. Manufacturer recall 16s26. Two dealers where i have inquired state that passenger side air bag parts are not available and may not be manufactured at all because takata will be going out of business.

Still waiting for the part to be available for the passenger side air bag. It's been probably a year since we were notified of the defect for passenger side bag.to date, part not ready.had the driverside bag replaced in june 2016.do we have to sue to get the replacement installed?

I received a recall notice about the takaka airbags probably 2 1/2 years ago.i have received several notices to bring my car in for the problem, but when i call to set up an appointment i am told that the parts are not available. Am i ever going to get the problem taken care of?

I have taken the car for the recall and the airbag annunciator is on

I took my 2009 mustang to the columbus, ohio dealership where i purchased the car for the driver's side airbag recall which evidently they fixed.the next day my airbag light went on which it has never done before.i took it back to the dealership. I was told now that the passenger side airbag was inoperable and it would cost $750 to repair and now neither airbag was working. I did some research online and found out about the passenger side airbag was under recall as well.i called the dealership back and the service person had no idea about that recall code 17s01.i even gave him the code number.now the dealership refuses to repair supposedly because the part of the airbag that is broken is not covered on this recall.

Takara inflators: my complaint is that i am having a difficult time getting my local ford dealership to take care of the recall because i did not buy the car from them.i have been on a waiting list for over a year. I called again yesterday and had to put my name on the list again! i was told they had to order the parts and he could not give me an approximate idea of how long this would take.

Takata recall - 15s21 - nhtsa recall 15v-319ford dealer liccardi supposedly did this recall on 8/9/2016. I still get notices from ford that i still need to have this recall done. I found that vin on their recall invoice(#192789) was for a different car( 1zvh80n495133278) . I notified ford and they updated their record for my car to indicate the recall was done. I am concerned now that the recall was not actually done on my car.

In june of 2016 i received a recall notice for the front passenger airbag in my 2009 ford mustang.it is now november 2017 and the status of my recall is still 'recall incomplete, remedy not yet available'. 17 months have passed since i received the recall notice.why hasn't ford provided a remedy for this potentially deadly saftey recall?

Takata recall:ref. Nhtsa id #: 10945038 submitted on january 13th.during july 2016, i received a recall notice from ford motor company about the passenger side air bag inflator needing replaced.the letter stated that a ruptured inflator may cause serious injury or death.i have read the risks of both keeping the status quo and the risks involved with deactivating the inflator.since the replacement part and repair notice has not been received by ford to date, i want to deactivate the passenger side inflator until a replacement part is installed.today, march 24th, 2017, i called the nhtsa customer service number to learn the process to have a dealership deactivate the switch.i was directed to the nhtsa website and entered "deactivate air bag" in the search box.i located appendix c and took the completed form to my nearest ford dealership.at the end of my phone call, i asked if takata will assume the labor cost for this effort or whether i will be expected to pay.the nhtsa customer service rep told me that i would not bear that cost.i drove my car to sam pack five star ford in plano, tx and the service tech told me that they do not do that and wondered where i got the form since it lacked a gov't letterhead and looked like something i generated myself.after more insistence on my part, the service tech went to his supervisor.the response was that 1) they never did this before2) i would have to get further authorization from ford customer service3) they do not have the labels to put on/in the car and would have to order them; assuming there is a part # for them, and 4) i would be charged $135 for their labor to deactivated since it is not part of the remove and replacement of the inflator.ford made a copy of my completed form and stated that they would pursue direction through their channels.

I was invalid in an accident and my front and/or side airbags didn't deploy.i was struck in the drivers side front end and the drivers side front fender by a 1995 ford tempo that was traveling approximately 45 mph.i was traveling at 10mph when the impact was made.the estimate to repair my car is $8000 and they haven't even taken it apart yet, that is just from a visual inspection of the outside.i drive a 2009 ford mustang gt premium edition.i am concerned about this issue.i have read internet sites and saw pictures of the same year and model of vehicle the air bags didn't deploy either.

This notification involves my brand new 2009 ford mustang gt premium convertible and the use of child seat tethers.when one installs a child seat in this vehicle and runs a tether strap over the head rest of the rear seat, the ford manual states that the tether should be attached to the indicated anchor hook.this anchor hook is down in the storage compartment where the power convertible top stows when it is opened.unfortunately, when the convertible top goes through the opening process, the first part of the roof that is lowered down into the roof storage compartment is the hard rear-window glass part of the roof.as the rear-window begins to lower itself into the storage well, it comes down on top of the tether buckle.when the rear-window contacts the tether buckle, two serious things happen (or could happen).first, and most seriously, the pressure from the rear-window can cause certain types of tether buckles to loosen with the downward pressure from the rear-window.this, of course, loosens a key safety belt attachment for the child riding in the child seat.the loosening of this attachment could put the child seat occupant at greater risk of injury, without a parent knowing it has occurred.second, the contact of the rear-window with the tether buckle could damage the rear-window glass, the fabric on the convertible top and/or the motor mechanism which drives the entire roof structure.luckily, i was smart enough to foresee this problem before lowering my roof all the way after child seats were installed.thus, i know to avert the risk of the potential loosening of the tether buckle.however, i wonder how many parents are driving around at this very moment thinking that the tethers on their children's car seats are secure, when they may not be.

When it rains, water is leaking under the windshield into the duct work and onto the passenger side floor. Heavy rains have caused as much as 5 inches of water to lay on passenger floor. This problem has caused the smart junction box to malfunction and car is not drivable. I now have to purchase a new box and have it programmed, which is very expensive. I have read articles about this happening to other 2009 mustangs. Ford has no recall on this issue. Not only is it expensive to fix, it also is a safety concern because it can cause an electrical fire to ignite within the car. This issue happens when the car is in motion and stationary.

The check engine light. My vehicle (which i purchased new in june 2010) has been to the ford dealer seven time in an attempt to repair an on-going problem with the check engine light. The ford tech's have determined that there is a problem with the fuel recovery system however they are unable to repair. I have not driven my vehicle since i picked it up the end of jan. 2011 and the check engine light came on 100 miles from the dealership. I have determined that there is either a problem with the fuel recovery system as the ford tech's. Say the light indicates or there is a electrical problem with the indicator light. Either or of which could cause a fire in my vehicle. I'm a fire investigator and it has been my experience that most accidental vehicle fires are caused by fuel or electrical problems.

The complaint filed by phone on 9/15/21 id #10763956 included important facts that are not showing on your web page. The damage to the electronic module was caused by the water leak as referenced in ford's tsb 08-26-7 and i also filed complaint with ford consumer relation since they offered no relief. I was unaware of this issue and consequence but, i'm now finding it's nothing new for owners as well as the auto industry that this is a problem with mustangs '05-'09 and the resulting damage to the generic electronic module happens often.

I have experienced problems with sensor faults prior to the first incident. Around may 22 i started experiencing water leaking under my dash board first when i thru a cawash. Then it rained and water came again. The tire pressure fault again came on and i was over due for an oil change so i took it in to have it looked at. The tech advised me to get the extended warranty and advised me the leak was a defrost evaporator and the tire pressure sensor was bad and would not be covered by warranty if extended. He said i needed to set up an appointment with the water damage guy to clean up the mildew and mold damage to the car which would cost 400 not to mention other parts and labor. So i was under the understanding that as long as i didnt use the defrost evaporator the leak would be contained. So i used it only on sundays and one thursday from may 22 to july and had only put about 700 miles on the car.the week of july 19th we had a ton of rain and i noticed the floor board was saturated with water and the humidity in the cabin made the panels on the doors start to peel away and there was condensation on the inside of my windows and dash. So i sopped the water up with multiple towels. I was very frustrated at the time and was worried about how i would handle myself at the dealer. That night at 235 am on july 19th a police officer advised me that a neighbor had called about an alarm going off and that they saw what appeared to be smoke coming from the hood. So i couldnt get my alarm device to work and started the car thinking it would stop. Well it didnt, so the sheriff and i agreed to disconnect the battery for the car was experiencing an electrical short which triggered my horn. As i got to the hood you could smell fried wiring but i didnt see any smoke myself. With these cars from 2005 why isnt this a recall, does it have to cost a life to make a change?

While driving 65 mph westbound on interstate 195 in new jersey the engine turned off. It lost all power and the instruments all went off. Engine would not restart while the car was rolling. I pulled off road to a complete stop. Was able to restart engine when stopped. Continued trip. Looked like a complete loss of the electrical system. Accelerator stuck - 2009 ford mustang gt - automatic transmissiondate of incident: sunday, november 7, 2010 late afternoonas i depressed the accelerator pedal, the car continued to accelerate after leaving my foot off the pedal and the throttle remained open. I applied my brakes upon realizing the throttle was stuck.i attempted to slow the car down (braking only) before reaching the intersection.the engine continued revving at a high level (as i can best recall) between 3500 and 4000 rpm for what seemed to be about 5 seconds.luckily, i came to almost a complete stop before entering the main highway as the engine speed was still pulling the car forward with the brake pedal fully depressed.thankfully, no accident occurred and no one was hurt or injured.the car then returned to a normal idle speed and i drove home without further incident.note:the tcs (traction control system) was turned off this date, which was something that i had not done in the past during operation of the vehicle.i contacted my local ford dealer and took the vehicle into their service department to investigate this safety issue.i was told they were not familiar with this complaint and that i was the first.a service tech went over the vehicle and could not find any codes or problems during a test drive (4 miles).besides the dealership, i reported the incident to ford customer service as i hoped this was something that can be corrected as this could have resulted in a serious accident.11/12/10call returned from a regional ford customer service representative.i offered to let ford have the vehicle for investigation over the winter months.i have not had another similar incident, but have only driven the vehicle for about 50 miles.

I was coasting to red light when it felt like my car just went without me accelerating my side air bags did not deploy even though i was t boned.

The rear differential on my car was leaking fluid with less than 30,000 miles on the car. The 3 year/36,000 mile warranty had expired so i inspected it myself.when i removed the fill plug in the rearend i heard pressure escape.that told me the pressure relieve valve in the rearend was defective.but because of that my seals need to be replaced in my rear differential now.after talking to other mustang owners i have been told this is a common and expensive and dangerous problem.this could cause fluid to leak onto rear brakes or even worse to much fluid lose would cause the rear differential to lock up and cause a accident.i modified the relief valve to fix the pressure build up problem.but now need to have the seals replaced which is a expensive repair.i rarely drive my car and it is always garaged.that is how i noticed it was leaking after seeing a puddle on the floor.i also know this is a common problem on that year mustang because i've seen on automotive blogs on this problem and they recommend buying a aftermarket relief valve before this problem happens.it isn't like my car was driven in harsh conditions or even driven daily. I fixed the relief valve myself and have not had the damaged seal replaced yet, because i was going to have it done when they replaced the recalled airbags. Every time i try to set up a appointment they say the still don't have the replacement airbags in stock. I rarely drive the car now because of the issues and maybe driven the car a few times in the past 2 years. I believe this is a common problem on the 2005-2009 ford mustang and ford should repair and replace any parts damaged by this issue.the relief valve is only a 10-15 dollar part but it's failure can cause thousands of dollars in damage and also a deadly crash.

I rented a car from thrifty in seattle, and was assigned an almost new mustang. I found it extremely difficult to brake with my left foot without also hitting the accelerator. The pedals were very close and almost same height. I considered the car undriveable. I exchanged it asap, no surprise to thrifty.

Clutch failure on my 2009 ford mustang gt500 - at 18,000 miles the clutch began to slip while in heavy traffic. I took the car to m purchasing dealer and requested a diagnostic, they indeed confirmed that the car exhibited the problem but informed me that it was a wear item with only a 12 ms/12k warranty. Ford has issued a tsb on the clutch and its flywheel indicating that heavy stop and go traffic will warp the flywheel and in turn ruin the clutch and transmission. Ford did nothing to fix the problem (identified in the tsb, nhtsa 10032615 - tsb-09-19-11).

I pulled into my driveway after returning from the store.as i began to slow down to pull in the garage the car accelerated causing me to crash into the front of my garage.the brakes were locked and the car did not stop but continued to push forward.i have skid marks the whole way up my drive into my garage from the car being pushed forward by the front tires.....i will be reporting this to ford motor company as their was a class action lawsuit for ford mustangs 2005-2010 if purchased in select states, mine being florida, which was part of this lawsuit.(was reported in usatoday for 3/23/13) i never received any information from ford regarding this.my car's front end and entire left driver side is destroyed as well as my garage. 2009 mustang gt steering wheel make noise when driving slow, such as during parking.i brought it back to the dealer but they say they dont know why.i am concern this is a potential saftey issue, e.g. Steering stuck during driving or steering wheel out of control.thank you

My 2009 mustang 6cid, when driving the steering wheel became loose in an up and down motion. Then it started to become loose in a side to side motion to a less of a degree than the up and down motion.so i took it to the dealer and by the time i arrived there it had gotten worse! they replaced the steering wheel on warranty.

Basically, i first noticed the paint bubbling up on the front exterior edge of my hood about 1 1/2 years after buying the car new. It was repaired under warranty but the gentleman at the body shop said that he'd seen it many times on mustangs and other ford models and that the problem most likely would return and it did. After reporting it a second time, i tried to claim for a new hood from ford but they flat out refused. I also reported it to military autosource on long island, new york (the boss actually) and he bent over backwards to help me get a new hood but they refused him as well.fortunately, i purchased the extended warranty because i've had other problems with my mustang, the most serious being the play/backlash in my rear differential being way out of limits. It's supposed to be between 0.2 and 0.3mm. I had to get a second opinion from another certified mechanic who checked it properly and found that the play/backlash was almost 5mm. This is what has been causing the "clunk" in my drive train. Fortunately, the boss at military autosource contacted a top mechanic at ford to get the info i needed to get the differential adjusted/repaired.

I was approaching a stop light with 3 vehicles ahead of me. I had slowed down almost to a complete stop when all of a sudden the engine roared and the car lurched forward into the back of the pickup in front of me. I had the brake completely to the floor and then my rear wheels begin spinning with the motor still roaring. I was finally able to put the (automatic transmission) car in park as it seemed to be stuck when i first tried to get it out of gear and still the motor was revving up and still lurching forward and turned the key off and it shut down.my front bumper was damaged in the accident.no warning lights were showing on the instrument panel.mechanic stated nothing picked up diagnostically in order to pinpoint the problem although the assumption was it was either the tps or possibly a vacuum leak. I have thoroughly enjoyed this car and prior to this have not had any problems with it, but now i am afraid to drive it.

Pulled up a driveway and put my 2009 ford mustang in park, started accelerating on it's own. Would decelerate after pressing and releasing the gas pedal but would start accelerating again on it's own. Turned the car off and when restarted acted and drove fine. Have read that this is a common problem that has not been addressed by ford. Very unsafe problem.

The hood is severely rusting on the front edges

The complaint filed by phone on 9/15/21 id #10763956 included important facts that are not showing on your web page. The damage to the electronic module was caused by the water leak as referenced in ford's tsb 08-26-7 and i also filed complaint with ford consumer relation since they offered no relief. I was unaware of this issue and consequence but, i'm now finding it's nothing new for owners as well as the auto industry that this is a problem with mustangs '05-'09 and the resulting damage to the generic electronic module happens often.

Ford mustang rented at tucson airport on oct. 24, 2009, 3 times when stopping at red light, after applying the brake, the car's engine started to rev and accelerate into traffic.i could not stop the car, screamed, pulled up the emergency brake and put the car into park until the light changed.absolutely unacceptable, budget picked up the car at a gas station and brought me another rental, unfortunately it was another ford mustang.stopping to pull into an angled parking space, applied the brake on the second car, guess what, it happened again.car's engine revved and car accelerated into the curb, stood on the brake pedal, nothing happened.pulled up the emergency brake and put car into park.returned the car to the rental at the airport, the manager blew me off, no one cares until there's a death. Ford has not responded and this is my second request for a response from your office.perhaps, the same manufacturer is making the parts for ford as on the toyota.one does need to look into this.my husband was sitting next to me in the driver's seat in all incidents, we are appalled.several major accidents were avoided here, i need a response.

My car stalled a few times when i stopped at stop signs then it didnt happen again for a few weeks.this time i was running into dunkins to get a coffee shut the car off came out 2 min later started the car went to drive away and the car would not accelerate.shut off car waited a min restarted it and no problem drove on.a few days later same thing ran in store came out and it did it again.brought it to a mechanic he hooked it up told me it was the electronic throttle control and it had to be replaced.he told me ford had recalls on many of the cars for this but no idea why the mustang was not recalled cause it used the same part as the other car.had to get it replaced. They said if i kept driving it like that it would go into limp mode and thats very bad while driving on the highway cause that could cause a fatal accident. Not happy about this and don't understand why the mustang would not be on the recall list for this problem.the car tachometer was racing up and down periodiclly when i bought the car but the couldn't figure outthe reason and said the car was fine. I'm not sure what kind of photo you want below.i have the original part the mechanic took out of my car and i have the invoice for getting it done.is that what you need?

Random acceleration. Backed out of parking space , put car in drive and pressed accelerator to move forward. Acceleration increased on its own.removed foot from accelerator, pressed the brake. Acceleration continued to increase, hitthe brake pedal hard..accelerator continued to increase on its own.(couldn't stop vehicle)hit a curb and flipped the vehicle.

Just bought a 2009 mustang gt on march 13th. Took it to the store, and was at a traffic light waiting for a green light. The light changed and i pulled the car out. I went from 1st to 2nd gear, and when i let off the clutch the car accelerated and continued to accelerate. I pushed hard on the brakes but it continued to gain speed. It threw me to the right lane, fortunately nobody was there, and off the edge of the road as it kept speeding up. I held the wheel tight while still continuing to try to stop the car. Before i knew it i was in a muddy ditch, and it slung me around and the rear of the car up onto the bank. The thick mud grabbed the wheels and slowed the car down enough that the front bumper was dug into the ground and the passenger side rear wheel off the ground, it finally had stopped. I am going to the dealership in the morning with the car and hope they can find the problem and fix it. We love this car and want to be able to be safe in it. Thank god my wife and children were not in it. Things could've ended badly, fortunately traffic was not around me and i wasn't injured, although due to the rough ride im sure ill be somewhat sore in the morning. Hope the problem gets solved soon, evidentially im not the only one who has had this problems.
