2008 ford mustang.consumer writes in regards to replacement parts not available to repair airbag recall notice.

Takata recall - over a year ago, in july 2016 i received a letter from ford customer service that the passenger frontal airbag inflator may result in metal fragments striking vehicle occupants causing serious injury or death. I never received a follow up letter, but recently got a notice on october 26, 2017 that tk holdings and company affiliates are filing chapter 11. I called the palm bay, florida ford dealer, where i bought the car, inquiring as when the parts would be available. The service department did not know and said i had as much knowledge about the recall as they did. I checked the www.airbagrecall.com web site listed on the takata notice and found out that the repair was incomplete on my car because the "remedy not yet available". It has been over 15 month and no resolution for this safety recall. Doesn't ford have a duty to find an alternative supplier in a timely manner?

Takata recall-- for the past 2 years i have received several recall notices (safety recall number 15s21/ nhtsa number 15v319) regarding driver and front seat passenger air bags. My dealer preformed the recall on the driver side air bag but for 2 years has been telling me ford has not sent the parts to perform the passenger airbag recall. I had the driver side airbag repair completed. On 8/25/17 i called ford directly. They said they have never had the parts to fix the recall and don't know when they will get them. Yet they continue to send me recall notices that say failure to fix the recall can result " serious injury or death." seems like ford is not making a serious effort to fix this known dangerous condition. Also, how many vehicles will change hands where the new owner will never receive notice of the recall or the dangers arising from failure to repair the recall?

When are these 2008's going to be repaired, as they are listed as the most vulnerable, because of the year and the location (florida) of the vehicle?i am paranoid about driving the car now.i resent the fact that ford did not recall the car off-the-road back in '08, let alone the dealer re-selling it to me in 2012.the high potential of a serious injury or death makes it a lost value to me in many ways. Why isn't ford being held responsible?why aren't these cars being pulled off the road and repaired before, the new models are being sold?i have not been in an accident.i was notified in july 2015 of the recall.a local dealer told me, that the vehicle would not possibly be fixed till the second quarter now of 2016.am i supposed to become a victim, in using the car and then facing a possible accident?

Takata recall was identified to be a defective airbag in my vehicle, 2008 ford mustang. The vehicle was brought in to the dealership to address the issue in 2016. Almost 1 and half year later this issue has stillborn been fixed. Though, as stated by the company themselves, this is a life and death situation created by this corporation.

Takata recall:received recall letter in august 2015, called bayshore ford in pennsville, nj, told no parts are available and not to worry the car is safe to drive.still not received any update; called three separate ford dealerships on 3/28/2016:one in vineland, nj said parts might be in 3rd quarter 2016 at the earliestone in freehold, nj said the dealerships will be notified when parts become available, but no time frame given.bayshore ford in pennsville, nj (the original selling dealership) simply says they have no idea when parts will be in and has no other information on any interim repairs that can be done in the meantime.

I purchase the vehicle from mcree ford in dickinson, texas in 2008 as a gift to my wife.the problem all started after she was involved in an accident in october 2010.during that accident she was t-boned by another vehicle. The person who hit my wife was ticketed as it was their fault for running the red light. The car sustained approximately $6900 worth of damage. We had the car repaired at mcree ford's collision center. Before the dealership gave us the car back, they told us that they could not get the error light for the airbags to go off and that it would be a short delay in giving us the car back. It took them approximately 3 days to repair the problem with the airbag and they assured us that it was fixed. Now, on may 2011, she was again involved in another accident in which she was driving approximately 45 -50 mph when my wife "t-boned" a truck who ran the stop sign and got into her lane. She had no chance to stop the vehicle so she ended up hitting the truck. Because the accident was caused by the driver of the truck, the driver of the truck was ticketed.the front of the mustang sustained approximately $9900 worth of damage. My wife sustained minor injuries (minor whiplash and a bruise on her leg). The reason for my letter is that my wife's injuries could have been worse given the fact that the airbag system that was supposed to protect her during both accidents did not deploy. Now, we do not know if the airbag system was defective from manufacturing or if mcree ford did not repair the airbags correctly from the accident that occurred in october 2010.it is our believe that the airbag system was defective from manufacturing given the fact that they did not deploy in either accident and according to the manual and all the information we received at the time of purchase from mcree ford, the vehicle was equipped with both frontal and side airbags. I would like this matter investigated as i feel this vehicle is defective.

Takata recallwhere can i get this fixed. I live in sitka, ak. Who pays the ferry fees.

So far no response.how mush longer do have to wait.my wife has survived 2 bouts of cancer.she will not ride in it.. Front air bag may rupture and deploy metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death. I don't feel safe driving my car. I contacted ford and expressed my concern and they said it was okay to drive. I asked for loaner or a rental until ford got parts to fix problem and they said no. I'm very unhappy about the way ford is handling this.

Irefused to pay to have it fixed as it's not my fault. It is ford who built the car. They should have to fix it!!!!this is a safety issue and my life is at risk!!!!

Takata recalli received a safety recall notice several years ago regarding my 2008 ford mustang. I have repeatedly called the dealer where i bought my car, as well as other dealers in my area trying to get the airbag replaced/repaired. All of the dealerships said they didn't have parts, that parts were on back order and would be in next few months. I got this same speech every time i called. I called my dealer at least once per month. Its has been over 2 years and my airbag has not been replaced. I have called ford motor company several times as well.last week a received a legal notice regarding takata airbag company filing chapter 11 bankruptcy.i am driving in a potentially dangerous car. I've had my car for 9 years. I have been trying to sell it or trade it in on a new vehicle for the last 2 years and have been unable to do so because no dealership or private buyer will trade or buy a car with an open safety recall. Also, ford motor company advised me that it is illegal to sell a car with an open safety recall. Until i receive a replacement airbag, i am not able to sell or trade. All the while, my car is depreciating in value. This issue has created a personal and financial loss to me and is putting my life in danger when i drive the car.

I purchase this car from the ford dealership six months ago. On 04/08/2012 about 1:50 am i was heading home from airmount, ny.i was driving the car at night off a winding road going down hill. As i was driving the steering wheel lock out of no where. Then brakes started to shake .i kept pressing on the brakes and brakes would not work and fail. At that point i lost control of the car and hit a tree head on. The airbag on driver side deploy, but the passenger side never deploy it fail.

Takata recall. We received our recall letter in june of 2016 for passenger side air bag replacement. We waited a year and called ford in july of 2017.they said that takata was out of business and they were hiring another company to make the replacement air bags.we just called again on september 29, 2017 and still no idea when it will be repaired. They also told us that we could not disable the air bag.so no one can ride in the passenger seat, unless you want to play russian roulette with your life.we waited over a year for the drivers side air bag to be replaced, so we are coming up on 3 years that we could not drive the car or had limited use because no one is able to ride on the passenger side without putting there life in danger.

Takata recallrecall went out for takata passenger airbag inflator on june 1, 2016. I have since had the driver's side replaced but the passenger airbag has never been available. Ford has not had the passenger airbag replacement available since the recall. It is a danger to transport any passengers knowing that their airbag is recalled and can cause life-threatening injury. The passenger airbag is currently disabled.

Takata recall.i am unable to understand why ford is allowed to take this much time to replace the defective and unsafe air bag in my 2008 ford mustang.they are still being allowed to sell new vehicles and to sell replacement air bags for vehicles involve in accidents.where is the consumer protection in this?i think the concern for the consumer in this whole fiasco has been a joke'

Takata recall - ford has sent a letter stating that the passenger seat may not be used until further notice.it is difficult to see this letter as anything other than a disingenuous attempt to shift their liability to the owner especially as their website as of today is in conflict with the letter stating, 'your vehicle is affected by a takata airbags recall.parts are not yet available, but your vehicle is safe to drive in the meantime.'this issue has been in play for almost two years and involves a threat of 'serious injury or death' to myself and my family.i require a straightforward, clear response.please see my letter to ford attached.thank you

Takata recalli received notification of a passenger side airbag recall in july 2016 and ford has yet to provide a solution or a safe loaner vehicle.

Takata recall: nothing has happened (yet), but i found that there was a recall regarding the passenger side airbags, which pose a danger to any passengers in that seat and that the recall is from june 2016. This is over one year now and i contacted my ford dealership. They informed me that they do not have the parts and that ford has not provided a timeline for the shop in the near future for the replacement of the airbags. I am supposed to wait for a letter, when i was not even informed in june 2016. I only found out now, because we received a note in the mail that takata is restructuring / filing for bankruptcy protection and that we may need to file our claim with them by december 27, 2017. So, they are getting off the hook and ford has no timeline. Meanwhile, we are driving an unsafe vehicle with no means to fix it ourselves.

Takata inflators.i received a notice in the summer of 2,015 from ford motor company stating that they had found that my 2008 mustang v6 premium convertible was found to have a defective drivers side air bag and that if it deployed, i could be seriously injured or killed and that it could deploy under certain circumstances even if the car were not involved in an accident.they said i would be notified to take my car to my local ford dealer when a replacement was available. I have checked many times since with my local dealer (acton ford, acton massachusetts) and have been told no replacements are available and they have no idea when any will be made available.i asked to have the air bag disabled and they told me that was not possible and i even offered to sign a release stating that i would not hold them or ford motor company liable for any results if the car was in an accident with a non functioning drivers side air bag and they refused that as well.so i now have a car that could not be sold on a private sale and is about worthless as a trade in for a different automobile!i am do disgusted with the utter lack of anyinterest to rectify this potentially serious situation and i have been a very faithful customer of ford products and this ford dealer.

Takata recall, to date i am awaiting part two of the recall, the passenger airbag, since july 2016

We received a recall notice in july 2015 for the air bag and parts are still not available. This is ridicules and needs to be resolved now. Harold ford in sacramento needs to take care of this problem.

Takata recall air bags need to be replaced. I received a letter saying i need my air bags replaced.

It has been two years trying to get my passenger air bag replaced through "ford of bellevue" in washington. Their same answer has not changed through multiple phone calls over that time, saying they do not have the parts and that it is a regional shortage. This is ridiculous. Consumerreports reported in november 2017 that "nhtsa says earlier airbag shortages have largely been resolved.". That was 6 months ago and i am still waiting. I am afraid to take any passengers.

This complaint is about the recall process on my son's mustang. Ford sent us notice last year and nothing has been done as the dealer repeatly told they don't have the part yet. If the situation can cause injury, i would expect priority to be placed on replacement parts.

Takata recall. I received notification in july 2015 that my vehicle was part of the takata recall. It is now 8 months later and ford still does not have a fix. I'm concerned that my car is not safe to drive and ford is not taking this seriously,

Nhtsa recall 15v-319 states that in certain vehicles, the front driver side air bag inflator housing may rupture and deploy abnormally in the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver side frontal airbag. An inflator rupture could result in metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death. I contacted my local dealership from whom i purchased the car, tasca ford on pontiac ave in cranston, ri who told me they had no information on this recall and suggest i contact the manufacturer. I call ford and was told they were aware of the problem and were working with their suppliers to obtain parts to remedy this unsafe situation, and they would notify me when they were ready to hopefully repair this defect. I feel unsafe now driving this vehicle, and fear for my own safety as well as any passengers in the vehicle. The company would not offer me nor pay for a rental car while they are searching for an answer. They didn't believe it was necessary. This is unacceptable.

"takata recall" i was notified about a passenger airbag recall for my mustang on jun 1 2016 and to call my dealer. I called the dealer multiple times since and still there are no parts available. I cannot let anyone ride as a passenger for fear of an accident that could activate a potentially deadly situation. Help!!!!!!

The contact owns a 2008 ford mustang. The contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the air bag module needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 134,334.

It's been at least a year and a half on this recall and i've gotten letters saying parts are available yet i call mcmullen ford and they do not have them and i've gotten my honda crv fixed and it had only 6 months and they ordered the part to install in my vehicle specifically. Now why can't a part be held for a specific vehicle at the ford dealership?

Takata recall- still have not received notice to get the airbags replaced.

Takata recall still not available

I've tried numerous time to make appointment to get the fixed no call back and put on hold every time i notified my love ones and lawyer to take immediate action if something happens to me or anyone in my vehicle for years this has gone on it's sad to go through this with nothing done. A civil suite is my next option

"takata recall ", safety recall 15s21 was completed on 08/09/16, driver side airbag, at the time i was advised that the passenger side airbag was not yet available and that i would be notified when it is available, to date i have not been so advised. Presently safety recall 16s26 is still active and i have received notice that takata has filed chapter 11 bankruptcy!

Takata recall. I have received notices regarding this recall (dated 6/1/16) that applies to my vehicle over the past couple years. When i have contacted my ford dealer, they have said that they do not have the parts to complete this recall. I do not understand why anyone should wait years to have the airbag replaced on a vehicle when the airbag currently in the vehicle is dangerous.

Takata recall--driver side inflator was repaired july 2016. In june 2016 received additional recall for passenger airbag inflator. It has been more than a year since notification. My vehicle is in the priority due to age and i am zone 1. I contacted the dealer in october 2016 and was advised they expected parts in january 2017. As of this date i have heard nothing . We are at risk for liability if i carry a passenger. It is not unreasonable to expect resolution after waiting a year and having a priority vehicle.

Takata recall. We received notice in july of 2016 that there is a recall on our mustang. It is now november 2017 and there is still no fix available. The letter stated that in the event of an accident, the air bag could rupture causing serious injury of death. We recently decided to trade the car in only to be told that because of the recall, the car can't be resold. So now we are stuck with a dangerous car until ford decides this fix is important to their customers.

Received a letter from ford motors dated july 31, 2015.we are still waiting for a new air bag to be installed and have heard nothing further.if something happens and the driver of our vehicle is injured/killed, legal actions will be taken.want the faulty air bag removed and a working air bag installed now.

Takata inflatorsfor the past 12 months, neither ford corporate hq or our local ford dealer has agreed to replace the faulty takata airbag inflators.both refuse to return phone calls, and after being forced to stay on hold for upwards of 30 minutes, refuse to put us on a list or provide any information, beginning in july 2015.

Takata recall

"takata recall" been trying to have fixed since 2016, being told not to allow anyone in passenger side. Ford dealer suuposedly did interim repair on driver side. Center cap on steering wheel has been lose, shakes and rattles upon acceleration. Airbags are deadly. Will not drive car. Fors has no permanent fix. Contacted ford, dept. Of justice, atty general office, and wells fargo who i have car loan with. Only recvd 1 response from ford, sent them the requested info, was promised a rental and since have not heard back. Have been deqling with wells fargo becuz i owe $9000 on loan, promised to help, waited then said it was manufacturer defect but wont refinance car or help in any way. They want me to drive a deadly vehicle, continue to pay for it and not allow anyone in passenger seat when the driver side isnt fixed either! getting help from no o e. Something needs to be done. People are dying and getting hurt and ford and takata could care less! i have all the documents and emails!

The contact owns a 2008 ford mustang. The contact stated the frontal air bag light illuminated constantly. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic who performed a diagnostic test which informed the contact that the drivers seat module was faulty. The vehicle was not repaired since the ford dealer was no longer in the area. The manufacturer was contacted and informed her to take the vehicle to another dealer for the repairs. The vehicle warranty was valid; however, the dealer was 900 miles from her residence and she would be responsible for the repair cost. It would be too costly to take the vehicle to a dealer in another city. The failure mileage was 16,000. Updated 07/20/11*ljupdated 08/29/11

Takata recall.have called for 6 months to classic ford lincoln of columbia and been unable to get the part serviced.called with the ford customer care team on the line and they hung up and would not pick up when the agent redialed this morning.she instead called dick smith ford of columbia who is also unable to schedule and says it's first come first server at the top of every month.the fact you are not supposed to drive the car, but are unable to actually get the issue addressed is ridiculous.

Takata recall, i have been waiting for repairs since 2016. The local dealer supposedly did an interim repair on the driver side airbag. Ever since then the middle of the steering wheel is lose and rattles upon acceleration. The car constantly dies and needs to be jump started even after replacing 4 new batteries. The local ford dealer says there is nothing wrong with car. I don't even think they did anything to the driver airbag. I've have sent over 15 complaints to numerous agencies including ford with no response besides a letter from ford received on april 13 saying the parts were available for the passenger side airbag which is a lie! henry at the dealer said they do not have the parts and are still waiting for them. They think they should be there in about 2-3 weeks and it could be up to a month or months before they receive them.

Takata recall - recall from ford motor company dated june 1 2016.16+ months later and there is still no remedy for this safety recall from ford.i don't believe this is being addressed in a "timely manner"

Takata recall. I was notified by letter from ford on july 2015 regarding safety recall notice 15s21/ nhtsa recall 15v-319. It has been 2.5 years and this issue has not been resolved. I continue to ask each time i bring my car for an oil change at ford and they say they do not have the parts.

Takata recall.it has been over a year and a half since the drivers side airbag was replaced and i was told the passengers side would be available a month later. I have called many times and been told "not yet" when asked if the replacement was in.now i get a post card saying takata are filing bankruptcy. I am very concerned about my safety and that of passengers in my car.i feel it is unsafe.

Takata recalli am very dissatisfied with the extent of time that is taking to replace these parts on ford vehicles. I know of chrysler vehicles of equal age that have had both the driver and passenger airbag replaced, yet only the driver has been replaced in my ford. I am in a high humidity zone and would like to get my vehicle passenger airbag replaced in a timely manner. I feel as though this issue is being greatly dismissed.

The contact owns a 2008 ford mustang.while driving approximately 20 mph on a wet and lightly sand covered road surface, the vehicle spun 360 degrees.the tire traction control device failed to engage and the vehicle crashed into the guard rail.the vehicle ended up facing west bound on an east bound lane.the air bags failed to deploy, but there were no injuries.the vehicle sustained severe frontal damage, and there was also damage to the front passenger door and body frame.the police were called to the scene.recently, the front driver's side automatic shoulder belt retractor system failed without warning.the vehicle is currently inoperative and has not been repaired.the vin was unknown.the failure and current mileages were 15,500.

"takata recall"i received a safety recall notice in may 2016 notifying me of the recall for the driver and passenger side air bag inflator. I made an appointment with mike patton ford in lagrange ga. They replaced the driver side air bag inflator on 08/22/2016. They said the passenger side air bag inflator was not available and would let me know when it was. I have checked back several times, but it still was not in stock. Still waiting. The car has not been driven since as i don't want to possibly injure someone riding with me.

Tajata recall.ford notified me in july 2016 that the air bags could cause injury or death and needed to be repaired or replace. To date, october 30, 2017, they can not effect the repair.i called a dealer today and was told the parts are not available and will not be for some time. I cannot use the car without undue stress.

Takata recall - this recall was initiated on june 1, 2016 which is now well over a year ago.we have tried that entire time to have this fixed, but the dealers tell us the parts are not yet available.since this causes death, i am very concerned with driving this car and the possibility of the airbag deploying and killing someone needlessly.i don't understand why the recall does not have a remedy for it when other cars have a safe deplolyment.why can't the takata recall replace the current airbag with one that is installed on other makes and models to ensure a safe drive? this recall should be a priority!

Takata recallreceived recall notice july 2016, has been over a year, ford keeps saying they do not have parts to fix and just to wait, knowing the airbags are dangerous and could cause injury or death. No damage or death yet however afraid to operate vehicle.

I was involved in a serious car accident on sunday of last week.while in the right-hand lane of interstate 95 in boynton beach, florida, my 2008 mustang was hit in the rear by an apparently speeding motorist.i was traveling between 55-60 mph and accelerating to achieve pace with the other cars on the highway.my car was struck in the rear, and propelled forward striking a minivan in front to me.i was pushed off the road and into the sea grape stand, and then struck one of the posts on a highway information sign.my car was totaled. (see the photo)neither airbag in the car deployed.i had received notices from ford motor company that my car had takada airbags in it, and that they should be replaced.i was notified approximately one year ago that replacement parts for the driver's side air bag were available.so, i went to the auto nation ford dealer and garage located on linton blvd, and interstate 95 in delray beach, florida to have the bag replaced.i dropped the car off in the morning and picked it up late in the afternoon, and was told that the bag had been replaced.i have driven the car ever since with the belief that i had a non-takada functioning driver's side air bag.neither the driver's side air bag nor the passenger side air bag deployed during the accident.however, each of the other three vehicles involved in the accident had full deployment of their air bags.it's obvious that the air bag replacement in my car by the auto nation ford dealership was deficient and did not meet crash standards for deployment.i am requesting that your agency investigate the replacement air bags and the installation techniques being used by ford to replace air bags in the ford cars being recalled for air bag replacement.

I still have not received info on when and where to get my airbag replaced. This is a safety concern and it has been over a year.

Takata recall.recall dated june 1, 2016/nhtsa recall number 16s26. How long shall i wait for a remedy andcan or should the passenger side airbags be disabled in the meantime?

"takata recall"i am a concerned parent of two teenagers that are driving cars effected by the airbag recall. I received a letter for my sons ford mustang in september 2015, and for my daughters 2009 honda cr-v march 2016. I have contacted the manufacturer ford and honda, and have not been given any information about when parts will be available. I feel that there is a lack of information being provided by the manufacturer, as well as specific information being provided by the nhtsa. I live in a designated high risk area, and would like to know what my options are for keeping my children safe from being killed by a malfunctioning airbag deployment.

Takata recall.i was notified by ford around june of 2015 about the possibility of a defective airbag inflator on the driver's side.it is almost april 2016, and as of today, ford has no idea when service parts will be made available for the repair.this car is driven every day and i am disappointed at the lack of speed that takata and ford seem to be placing on this recall.

Takata recall. Had appointment in april to replace. Dealer cancelled and said would advise.called in may and said no parts and would call when available.car in south west florida uncovered driveway. Worried due to high humidity

Takata recallmy car has been on recall for the passenger side air bag inflator since july 2016. It is now april 2017! is this ever going to get resolved. This is ridiculous! thanks.

Takata recall. I received a letter in march 2017 telling me the passenger frontal airbag inflator needs to be replaced. I was instructed to wait for further word from ford when i could have this done -- so far, after 10 months, i have still not heard anything.

Takata recall. I received notice of recall on my ford mustang 9 to 12 months ago. The dealer tells me they don't have the part to replace the airbag. My husband and son both had the same recall on their dodge cars and the vehicles were repaired immediately many months ago. In the mean time, i'm still waiting for parts for my car and praying i'm not in a car accident. I have great concern for my safety and the safety of my grandchildren, who frequently travel in my car. It seems absolutely wrong that my life seems to be a no concern to ford. This "part issue" needs to be resolved. I was told not to contact the dealer again until i hear from ford that the part is available. Please note that i'm entering todays date in "when did this happen" as a date is required to move on to next. This has been going on for months.

I have written to ford four times asking for them to repair the takata inflator in our mustang, beginning in early 2016.i have receive four form responses telling me that they understand that this issue "is important to you", that i can continue to drive the vehicle (they noticeably omitted the word 'safely') and that "the volume and scope of the industry-wide takata airbag inflator recalls have created unique replacement parts challenges".i get it, but it's been several years.i didn't buy an air bag inflator from takata, i bought a mustang from ford.ford should be going to alternative providers for this part.they are, clearly, putting their interests and profits before the safety of my family.i'm not okay with this.in fact i'm outraged by it.i've heard enough from ford's "customer service representatives".i'd like my car fixed so it is safe to drive.period.or, they can repay me my $35,000.i'll use it to purchase a vehicle that is safe to operate.

Takata recall: on july 2016 received a notice from ford regarding the nthsa recall 16v-384. The ford identification number is recall notice 16s26. I checked with my forddealer on recall fix status on july 2017 and again on october 2017. It has been over a year that the recall was identified and there is no fix yet. I am concerned about driving anyone (specially my wife) in the passenger seat and so far i have not been able to get a fixed date from ford. If their new cars do not have this issue, why don't ford and takata have a fix for the old cars too ? as a side note, i am not complaining about the driver side air bag. That one ford fixed some time ago.

Takata recall. Purchased a car from landmark ford in springfield illinois. They said all recall were completed before i purchased car. Not true. Recalls still open and not completed as promised before purchasing.

Takata recallreceived notice from ford in july 2016. Have followed up with the dealer on several occasions and told nothing they can do-ford has not released the parts complained directly to ford and was told parts are not available. Couldn't or wouldn't tell me where my car falls on the priority list nor could they tell me when i might expect to hear from them. Neither ford nor the dealer have kept me aware of any progress. I have had to pursue all information. Also complained to the illinois attorney general who contacted ford and ford responded they were awaiting parts. This was my dream car for my wife and i for retirement, and she has not been able to ride in it. I want to be prioritized for replacement part.

Takata recall plus drivers seat belt wont retrack very easy. Been to world ford dealership in pensacola and they keep telling me to bring it in next month. It's been since jan this year and still no airbag replacement. Been in there three times so far. Please let get this fixed before someone gets hurt or dead....

Takata recall - it is completely unacceptable that shrapnel could kill me instead of the accident via air bag deployment and no parts are available over two years later??this needs immediate action for replacement!

Was notified two years ago that my passenger side air bag is under recall.ford says there is no repair available.i want to know why not.is the passenger not safe?

Takata recall.i have attempted several times to schedule an appointment with my ford dealer to have the passenger side air bag recall addressed.each time i call, i'm told the parts are not available. When will the parts be available?

Contacted ford a year after getting the letter and they still do not have the parts, i want them to give me a loaned car till they can fix mine.

"takata recall" i received an important safety recall july 2016 in reference to safety recall 16s26. The notice informed me that part 16s26 needs to be replaced, but that "parts are not currently available". The notice, therefore, stated that the ford motor company would notify me via mail when parts become available. It is now october 2017 and the ford motor companyhas not yet sent me a letter to inform me that part 16s26 is available.

Tennessee street, cartersville, ga 30120, 770-382-5780) was contacted and confirmed that the part was not available. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Takata air bag recall - i am apart of recall #15v319 and have yet to hear from ford motor company or nhtsa regarding when the affected item will be fixed. People are apparently driving around with this air bag issue which can potentially break into shards and cause injury to its drivers.

Purchased a car from landmark ford in springfield illinois on 11/5/2016. I was told all recall have been completed. Took car to my local ford dealership to be told the 15s21 drivers airbag safety recall had not been completed. Landmark ford was not truthful about this safety recall and put both my wife and i in danger. I feel i was taken advantage of by landmark ford and i am in the process of filing a lawsuit against landmark ford.

The air bag on the 2008 ford mustang is to close to the front of the seat,i purchased one for my wife, she sits up right in the passenger seat with her back against the back of the seat ,the air bag was turn off when she was a passenger in the car, ford is aware that this happened and said that they could not do anything about it,we had the car less than one month and it was in the shop 3 times during this time,we had it returned under the lemon law,but this is a safety problem if you have to sit so close to the front of the seat in order for the air bag to be turned on.we have a 04 f-150,a 04 gran marquis and drove an explorer, and a taurus while her car was in the shop and never had the air bag light to come on. Ford said that they could not find fault with the light, just the placement of the sensor being to far to the front of the seat. A simple move closer to the rear of the seat would solve this problem.

On 1/11/2009 at 8:00 pm iwas heading home from work, when a ford f-250 lost control and crashed into the drivers' side door. There was such force in the crash that the side impact airbag did not deploy as required to do so. I sustained injuries which consisted of leg contusions, 3 broken ribs, neck, and back injuries. My vehicle which was a 2008 ford mustang gt premium sustained $17,700.00 worth of damage and was deemed a total loss.

This is about the 20th time this has happened, went to pass a slower car and the accelerator pedal stuck and went to the floor, this has been happening at least once a week, this is a fly by wire system the issues in the pedal assembly, not the computer or anything else, no one can find a problem, but a few have said this is not the first they have heard of it, i have taken the pedal out tried to lube it and any thing else that comes to mind to free it, there is never a warning when it will happen, makes no difference if you push hard or soft. I have owned car since 9-10-14 and has happened about 20 times no help from dealer as was purchased as is no warranty, i have talked to a ford dealer they say nothing they can do, when this happens i have to shut off the engine pull to the side of the road and play with it till it frees up and returns.

The fuel gauge on my 2008 ford mustang has droppedto empty with the following error code: "dte fli data error:without a properly working fuel guage it is not known how much fuel is remaining in the tank and this leaves the driver and car prone to running out of fuel at driving speeds. The clutch pedal assembly broke at one of the welds while driving straight on a city street. The pedal lost total function and fell to the floor and i couldn't shift gears. While still in motion, i attempted to pull the pedal up using the top of my foot. The pedal then reverted all the way up under the dash and could not be reached at all. I was able to pull over and park the car into the nearest lot.

While driving on the interstate, i changed gears (manual transmission) and the clutch failed to engage properly and engine rpm spiked dramatically.when the clutch finally engaged i pulled over to the right lane.the car will not maintain speed, and engine rpms spike continually regardless of gear/speed.the car is very unsafe to drive and the situation nearly caused an accident on the interstate.ford has acknowledge the issue with the factory-installed clutch on the 2007-2009 shelby gt500s, but has refused to issue a recall and passes on the repair cost to consumers.

To whom it may concern:i was driving my 2008 mustang shelby gt 500 and stopped on a hill and when trying to start clutch slipped and almost got hit by the car behind me. I have drivenmanual transmission cars all my life and have never had a car with 6000 miles with clutch failure. I contacted ford and was informed by them that it would not be covered under warranty. I did some internet research and found several complaints like mine looking for help from ford and have received the same response. I have shared my research and i have received generic answers. Ford is very aware of the inferior clutches they put in these cars and are only trying to evade a recall. I am asking for your help convincing ford to do the honorable thing especially the high cost of these cars. If you do your own investigating and you will find multiple problems being discussed on the internet.thanks

Since car was purchased new, manual transmission was very difficult to shift from 2-3 gear (especially when cold). Sometimes gears would grind, or would not engage at all. Shifts would often take about 2-3 seconds to engage, with car losing speed during this time. At 5800 miles, transmission required the synchronizers to be replaced under warranty.currently car has 22,000 miles. At times, gears would not engage smoothly from 2-3 shift (when transmission hot or cold), and requires 2-3 seconds for gears to engage. This occurs occasionally, without any forewarning.

As iā€™m driving the wrench light comes on and keeps coming on after a couple minutes of driving the car and when i talk to everyone or even mustang forms they keep saying the car is going into limp mode and almost causing crashes, every time we scan for codes the car wonā€™t tell us anything you turn the car off and the light goes away for awhile but eventually turns back on.

Every other time i start from a stop the clutch shaking the hole car and in reverse at 1mile an hour doing the same thingi just bought this car like a month ago not to happy with it.its very dangerous.i look this problem up an everyone is having this problem ford will not fix it without paying 2800.00 i don't think i should pay i just got the car please help please help please help..............:-(

Bought car new.during a routine maintenance service, i asked the dealer to adjust the clutch.dealer stated that clutch is self-adjusting, and charged $50 to perform service.however, dealer stated that clutch disc is severely worn and has about6000 miles of service life left.i asked dealer to replace while still under less than 12,000 mile or one year warranty.dealer refused.i contacted ford customer relations and they said they have received complaints, but have not and will not replace.i sent letter to ford ceo and received a phone call from an executive assistant to ceo that said that they understood my concern but still would not replace.i am a 35+ year experienced manual transmission user and am the only one who has driven the car, and do not abuse the car.this will become a safety issue when the clutch fails because it will most likely happen on public highways.car is currently at 12000 miles and i am concerned.

The clutch pedal assembly pin broke off and had to be tig welded by a mechanic. He indicated that the original weld was faulty. We were lucky that we were able to push the vehicle off the road safely in the midst of a very busy street.

The clutch assembly completely went out and at the same time the braking system went out. The clutch completely disappeared into the dash. I was in the motion of making a right turn on a city street.

I was driving down a ramp to a highway (route 21 in clifton, nj) at approx. 30mph and went to accelerate tp the middle lane on the highway at approx. 45mph when the car suddenly took off.i felt like someone was holding the gas pedal down and the only way i could get some sort of control was to drop the gears to 3rd gear (i have an automatic mustang 2008 convertible with 500 miles on it). I also held the brake down and put the flashers on to alert other drivers that i was having a problem.i drove for 1/4 of a mile like that before i was able to gain control in a turn.it was only then that i felt the car to be really in third gear.i shifted back to drive and made it home.this is the first occurrence that i've had and feel lucky to not have hit anybody on that wild ride.i called a local ford dealership and will take it in for service.i do not trust this car to drive at this point.

My accident happened in a parking lot.when carefully backing out of my parking spot, my car suddenly accelerated.i tried unsuccessfully to stop the car by hitting the brakes.my car kept accelerating.it clipped another parked vehicle.my car came finally to a stop when it hit a water hydrant/ sprinkler system.*tw

Parking car into parking bay between building support and other car. With my foot on brake and at a stop i reached to place car in park when for no reason the car accelerated over a concrete parking stop, through a ditch, out of the ditch before striking another truck head on in the parking area across the ditch. My foot was on the brake the entire time and i did not touch the shifter at all! the car could be revving very high as it move forward and i pressed the brake pedal as hard as i could to no avail. Preliminary discussions with dealership have insinuated this could not have happened and they seem to be resisting to look into this mechanical malfunction. Very concerned this can happen again where someone could get killed!!

I have been waiting for a repair on my passenger side for about 3-4 years.the dealer in dumas, tx repaired the driver side but says they havent gotten the part in for the passenger side.something is wrong here and somebody is dropping the ball.i want my mustang repaired so i can drive it.i do not drive it as i always have passengers (grandkids) and the warning i got said not to let people sit in the passenger side of the front seat.therefore i do not drive my mustang.it has been parked almost 3-4 years now.what a shame!the dates i am using in this form are about ...i am not sure when it was recalled at first!!!!i have since received a notice to get this fixed as the company has claimed chapter 11.how can i when the dealer cant get the part?

The latch on the driver side seat belt sometimes sticks and will not release and at other times it will not latch.

2008 ford mustang.consumer writes in regards to a slipping clutch and seeks reimbursement for repairs.the consumer also stated the retractor was replaced, due to the seat belt not retracting properly.

My driving and passenger side leaks and fluids and my driving door also gets water inside .... My car isn't crashed from any of those side or hasn't been crashed.

The clutch assembly completely went out and at the same time the braking system went out. The clutch completely disappeared into the dash. I was in the motion of making a right turn on a city street.

The contact owns a 2008 ford mustang. The contact stated that the while driving approximately 40 mph , the clutch and brake pedal failed without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that the brake, clutch pedal assembly and the master cylinder needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 54,000. The vin was not available.

My daughter and i were getting home from a short trip. As i was slowing down and turning into my driveway the car accelerated out of control. I had to turn sharply to avoid a parked car and was headed straight into our neighbors house. I stomped on the brake, but it just went to the floor. I was about to throw the car into park when i regained control. Stopped the car, put it in park and told my terrified daughter to get out and go in the house. I backed up, pulled into my driveway and parked it. I'm scared to drive it now.

Car was taken to ford dealership for airbag recall and all 4 wheel brake job (12-2017).7 months after a grinding and pulsation presented itself in the brake pedal under medium to hard braking conditions while driving the car. It felt like the abs was kicking in and caused driver to drastically adjust braking and steering because you thought your brakes were failing and your car was out of control.the car was returned (7-2018).dealer replaced front pads and machined rotors, but the grinding and pulsation returned.back to the dealership (8-2018).they machined rotors again, but problem returned.back to dealership (10-2018).replaced all pads and rotors.ok for short time but the grinding returned.car was parked due to safety concerns.took to another dealership for a second opinion (9-2019), they verified the complaint. But was told they couldn't find anything. Tires balanced, brake fluid changed, suspension parts tightened but the grinding persisted.the car felt unsafe.basically, was recommended everything should be scrapped and start over with all new brake parts.i couldn't afford dealership price a second time in 20 months, so did it myself with name brand, nationally recognized parts.all pulsation, grinding, thunking, vibrations and excessive sensitivity to road conditions disappeared.upon closer inspection, found the oem motorcraft anti-rattle shim had detached from the brake pads and began migrating around the back of the pad.less than 10k miles and 7 total trips to the ford dealership and i had to throw all the ford parts out and fix the problem myself.original dealership refuses to refund my $1k for the original work.ford knew pads were defective and still sent customers out the door with faulty brakes.large safety concern, or an overall scam to defraud consumers for repeated brake repairs-not sure, but it's unacceptable.

The 911 operator told my fiance that a police dispatcher would be calling her back, to which she replied we needed help immediately because we were approaching on slower traffic. Very quickly after, the left shoulder lane ended so i was forced to move the car into the farthest left lane. It soon became apparent that we would not avoid a collision, and my car hit the back of a yellow scion tc going approximately 100mph. The airbags deployed right away, making it unclear if we hit any other cars. The final impact that stopped our car was a concrete barrier on the right side of the highway. My fiance and i immediately exited the car and stepped away while we signaled for help. Without a doubt our lives could have been taken away from us due to this event.

The contact owns a 2008 ford mustang. While driving at 45 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and failed to respond. As a result, the vehicle veered to the right and crashed into the rear of a parked vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact did not sustain any injuries and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 2,600.

Rear brakes squeak during normal stop.

My niece was driving my car on 4/10/2009.she attempted to slow down when a car slowed to a stop on the freeway.she slowly pressed on the brakes and the car did not slow down.she continued to press the brakes all the way to the floor as hard as she could.the car's brakes failed and she ran into the back of the stopped car.she was going slower than the posted speed and tried to stop far in advance. My niece suffered whiplash.

Paint bubbling up on hood.

The soft convertible top on my car is dry rotted and falling apart.it is a tan top.i thought it was just mine, however since this, i have noticed almost every single tan top i have seen, even on the newer cars, are the same as mine and are peeling all along the edges.they are falling apart period.there are so many things that are obviously dealer defects that should be recalled it is pathetic.the trunk screws that are supposed to hold the liners down, fall apart and come lose.nothing you do can hold them in place.way too many issues to list right now.i just wish ford would step up and take responsibility for these items and make them right.these are beautiful cars and i love mine, i just hate that it is put together crappy and sloppily.

2008 ford mustang gt, purchased on 25 july 2008 purchased new vehicle on 25 july 2008.first water damage was on 5 sept 2008, the car held approx. 3 inches of rain water on passenger side.dealership claimed that they found that the windshield was not properly sealed around the windshield wiper, however, my print out from them shows where they paid "mr. Vinyl" $125.00 for cleaning up the water damage.ford dealership and ford customer relations denied my request for new interior carpet.this new vehicle has 1,900 miles on it.again on 26 sept 08, the interior passenger floor of car filled with water.today is 29 sept and i still do not have my vehicle back.i am concerned with future electrical problems which could occur from this. This defect could substantially impair the use, value, or safety of my vehicle and i am concerned with future problems that may occur from this..

I was driving my recently purchased 08 mustang (least year) in the heavy rains we were having.to my utter dismay, it starts gushing, nor leaking, gushing in through what seemed to be under my passenger side dash.it flooded my front passenger floor side so bad, it went through to the back passenger seat floor board.i have "recently" found online, where numerous, numerous people are having the exact same problem with their mustangs.ford has been contacted and will do nothing to my knowledge as of the writing of this.i, like many others, am concerned of the damage it is doing to my car underneath the carpeting.i am concerned about rust in the body of my car underneath the carpet and what all wet carpet brings with it (i.e. Allergies, mold, smells, rust, decay)!!!!!i would think ford would consider this a defect and make sure all of these cars on the roads with such defect, would be remedied.also, my car was purchased from a fleet organization.is there any way i can find out who they were?i don't think they kept up with recalls on this car because i ran a carfax and it did not show the dealer recall related items.i think it is really sad such a beautiful car "mustang", has these problems.i have been an avid retro mustang fan, but my love for the car is beginning to fade due to ford motor not taking responsibility.

Paint on underside and front edge of the hood is bubbling up, also the paint is delaminating around the rear glass, the rear qtr glasses are delaminating, the inside rearview mirror glass is losing its backing.

The clear coat is bubbling/popping off on the hood and fenders.

Driving on interstate highway at 70 mph in very high crosswind conditions when the hood began to vibrate wildly and the latch released. Secondary latch caught the hood before it completely flew up. I slammed the hood shut and was able to complete my trip but the high winds still made the hood shake and vibrate.today there is no wind and i drove the car at interstate speeds with no vibration at all.

The contact owns a 2008 ford mustang. While driving at 40 mph during inclement weather, water leaked onto the front passenger side of the vehicle. The failure recurred on multiple occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 58,000.

Shortly after the warranty on the vehicle expired i noticed paint bubbles on the front lip of the hood. I was still two years away from paying off the vehicle. I brought the car to the dealership where they took photos and recommended a complete hood replacement. Ford refused to fund even a portion of the cost to fix the problem. Internet mustang forums have multiple threads about this problem. Apparently it began with model year 2004. I contacted ford directly and was told they would not help me. I contacted the massachusetts attorney general's office. They contacted ford and ford refused to talk to them about the problem. Theysent me and the mass ag a letter stating that they would not help and they would not talk to us about the problem anymore. The problem continued to progress throughout the entire hood. I was recently forced to purchase an aftermarket hood because the paint was gone from several sections of the stock hood. I attempted to purchase a new stock hood but the dealership said that the problem would probably happen again on the new hood.

My paint located near my hood pins is bubbling due to oxidation/rust mainly, from what i have read, is due to the wrong part. Ford or shelby have denied my multiple requests, even wiring warranty dates, to resolve this issue. Multiple 07-08 mustang shelby gt's have this same issue and neither company can provide a solution or deal with this issue. Please help us owners keep our cars nice without having to pay out of pocket and be covered under warranty.thank you for your time.

While driving my ford mustang gt premium with the bullitt package at highway speed the hood suddenly opened and was caught by the safety latch. I reported this incident to jarrett-gordon ford winter haven and they adjusted the hood latch. Unfortunately, this did not correct the problem and i had another occurrence of the hood opening at highway speed in which the safety latch prevented a potentially serious accident. I again took the car back to the same dealer - jarrett-gordon ford winter haven and this time they replaced the hood latch mechanism. This corrected the problem and no further incidents occurred.

After exiting the vehicle on 9/30/14, the driver's door refused to latch after attempting closing the door several times. The vehicle was not in an accident and there is no body damage whatsoever. As this incident has never appeared before, i called my servicing dealership and reported the problem. They instructed me to have the vehicle towed to them since they said it was obviously not safe to drive. After a brief time on hold on the call, the dealership said they could not perform the work until october 3, 2014 and that, in fact, it was safe to drive until then. They instructed me to slowly "pull" the door shut instead of the normal closing operation. This did, in fact, work and the door remained closed, but i did not feel comfortable with this solution since, i felt, that either: 1) the door could swing open at any time or 2) the door would not open and i could become trapped inside the vehicle due to the malfunctioning door operation. I returned to the dealership on october 3, 2014 and they informed me that it should be covered under warranty because of the safety issue nature. Unfortunately, the dealership has informed me: 1) that they cannot repair this serious safety issue until 10/10/14 and 2) that they will not perform the repair under warranty. I did report this safety issue to ford motor company through their corporate hotline found on their website, but they insisted that i "work through the dealership."

Paint bubbling on front edge of hood.

After heavy rainfall, i found that there was water leaking in through dash behind the glove box on passenger side of my vehicle allowing water to build up in the passenger side floorboards/carpet. It was unknown originally where water was coming from but after most recent storm, while i was driving vehicle, water literally started falling in and on to floorboard directly from behind glove box, coming in at steady stream, soaking passenger side carpet/floor mat/jute. I have personally looked up this issue and found several complaints of other mustang owners dealing with same issue and mentioning that ford has produced a bulletin for this issue but not a recall.

The contact owns a 2008 ford mustang.the contact heard a clicking noise in the rear passenger side axle.the noise occurs while driving at low speeds and increases when driving on inclines.he took the vehicle to the dealer for repair at least three times, but they could not locate the cause of the failure.on the third visit, the dealer discovered that the shaft and rear axle failed.the dealer kept the vehicle for four days in order to make the repairs.the vehicle operated normally for two months after the repairs, but currently the failure has returned.the contact is taking the vehicle back to the dealer on may 16, 2008 for inspection.the failure mileage was 4,527. We were sold a brand new 2008 mustang gt500kr (shelby) june 15, 2014. This car was kept at the dealership in the show room and never sold until now.we were charged a $7 tire fee at the time of sale but a few weeks later it was refunded to us with no explanation.we recently took the car into a different dealership for a shifting issue when the technician and service advisor told us the rubber on the tires is getting hard and it is a safety issue to drive it.at the time of purchase it was never disclosed to us that the tires were old and we think the selling dealership was aware of the issue and that's why they refunded us the tire fee. We contacted ford motor company and they refused to put new tires on our vehicle.

Takata recallreceived recall notice july 2016, has been over a year, ford keeps saying they do not have parts to fix and just to wait, knowing the airbags are dangerous and could cause injury or death. No damage or death yet however afraid to operate vehicle.

My mustang gt had a complete failure to the cars rear end after discovering a loud noise coming from the left rear at low and high speeds. There is no reason why a vehicle with 57000 road miles on it would have this type of a problem. This is a safety concern for anyone driving this year mustang because it could very well create a terrible accident even death.

Water leak issue. When it rains, i get a lot of water on my passenger side floor that goes to the back, it's really bad. Is this a recall issue? i only had the car for a year.

When it rains water comes in through the the back window and floods the inside of car. Causes mold and produces a very bad smell. I have sealed it but it keeps coming undone.

Takata recall, my car's value is significantly reduced due to this defect and virtually unable to sell or trade in.

The catalytic converter on the driver's side of the exhaust pipe has cracked and must be replaced at a cost of almost $1400. It seems a part so expensive should last more than 75000 miles, which is approximately what the car has on it now. No one can tell me why it would have cracked, but a couple of muffler shops have told me that they have seen many ford catalytic converters crack for no apparent reason.this would seem to be a manufacturing defect.

There is a pin that hooks on to the master cylinder push rod and the pin connects to clutch pedal pin wears out and breaks at that weld while driving causing the function of fully engaging the clutch to fail there for there is no shifting i was driving down the road the other day and this particular part has failed making it hard for me to get the vehicle out of gear or into any gear.

When there is rain the water pours into the passenger side front floor area. This has happened with my 2008 and 2005 ford mustangs. The dealer checked the seals and they were fine.driving or stationary. Street and highway. Straight or turning. Unknown.

The contact owns a 2008 ford mustang. While driving approximately 20 mph the vehicle surged forward resulting in a crash. A police report was filed and within a few days the driver was taken to the hospital for injuries that were sustained during the crash. The vehicle was towed to an independent repair shop where it was not examined to determine the cause of failure.the vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 50,000.

I rented a 2008 ford mustang from hertz. While turning a corner, the car accelerated on its own, and i had to brake hard to stop it. This only occurred once during the several days in which i drove the car. I have reported this to hertz.

Driving my 2008 ford mustang gt home from work when the throttle got stuck wide open i placed on my weight on the brake and it did nothing i then threw it into park and the car red lined at 8000+ rpms i hit the person in front of me and a parked car on the side of the road i turned off the car and restarted it car revved out again did it again everything went back to normal.

Gas pedal stuck had to slam brakes it got unstuck luckily.

At high and low speeds (different occassions) the check engine light would go on and the vehicle would no longer respond to the accelerator.it would go into "limp mode" and only proceed at idle speeds.happened sporatically at several times including dangerously at highway speeds.

When driving down the highway during afternoon rush hour, my car began to accelerate at high rate (stuck at 4000-5000 rpm) causing me to speed down the highway with very little ability to stop as i hit the brakes but could not overcome the acceleration. Thinking as quickly as i could, i threw it into neutral to bring the car to a crawl and slowly roll to the next exit and then to a stop. I was lucky to think so quickly because otherwise i could have run into the cars in front of me as the car sped down the highway with no ability to stop. I fear for others that may have this problem because if there was a stop ahead, it could easily end in loss of life. Once safely on the side of the road, i attempted to restart the car, only to have it rocco tongue to rev.after taking it to a ford dealership, i was told that my throttle electronics had malfunctioned causing the throttle to get stuck open. This is an extremely dangerous problem. Ford's handling of it, which was to say that they couldn't do anything about it is unacceptable.

I was driving home one evening when stopped at a traffic signal,my mustang throttle for unknown reasons the accelerator was stuck on the floor and remained wide open for approxaimately 1.5 miiles before i wa able to stop my vehiclesa, without injuries or death to myselfand the public. This happened again with this vehicle tonite with my son driving . Hestated the throttle/accelerator had stuck wide openwith the accelerator on the floor. As he was unable to shut the vehicle off .this seems to be a large issue wityh ford vehicles only to find no recalls but with one make the escape. The vehicle is a danger to public safety abroad for you never know when thids will happen. I was in rush hour traffic and am grateful by blowing the horn and the ability to think quick no one was killedb. My vehicle is being taken to the ford dealer in the am to coorect an issue ford motor company needs too address . After researching complaints thereare numerous complaints with no results.

The contact owns a 2008 ford mustang. The contact stated while pulling into a parking space at relatively low, unknown speeds, the vehicle abnormally accelerated. The contact was unable to stop the vehicle as it proceeded to jump a concrete curb and crashed through a row of bushes. The passenger reached over and shifted the vehicle into park. The unintended acceleration ended. The contact was able to reverse the vehicle and park without further incident. On a separate occasion, while driving at unknown speeds and attempting to brake, the vehicle abnormally accelerated a second time. The contact attempted to brake but to no avail. The vehicle crashed into the side of a building. The front air bags deployed. The contact suffered minor unknown injuries and the police were called to the scene. A police report was available. The vehicle was towed by her insurance company. The manufacturer was notified of the failure via email. She had not yet received a response. The failure and current mileages were 19,700.

I was getting on to the highway in a mustang i had literally just purchased, i pushed the pedal to the floor and it got stuck! took numerous brake and gas shoves to finally get it to come out, if i had not been on the highway there would have been an accident.

- first incident - september 2011 - while traveling 55mph on the highway, the car stopped responding to me pushing down the gas pedal. It was still idling, but no longer accelerating. The wrench light came on. I pulled off to the side in neutral and restarted the car. The problem has not repeated itself yet.- second incident - late september 2011 - car keeps dropping below 500rpms while sitting in traffic in neutral. Car finally dies completely. Is able to restart, but repeats this behavior sporadically- third incident - while going 25mph in a residential area, car starts to accelerate on its own. I push in the clutch, checked the mat (to make sure it wasn't stuck on the pedal), but the car continues to accelerate. Around 3500rpms, i turn the car off. It restarts without a glitch.- 11/8/2011- took the car to ford. They said nothing like this had ever happened before, and blamed the acceleration on the mat, even though i checked it. They have no explanation for the deceleration, and say there is no wrench light in the car's history.

The contact owns a 2008 ford mustang. The contact stated that after installing aftermarket floor mats, the floor mat became lodged between the accelerator pedal and the floorboard, causing the vehicle to erroneously accelerate. The contact crashed into another vehicle as a result. The floor mats were removed to prevent any additional incidents. The manufacturer was not contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000. ..upadated 01/30/13updated 1/1/2013 updated 1/1/2013

I was merging onto the i-5 freeway near a big mall with fairly heavy traffic and i "floored" it, or close to flooring it, to get up to speed to merge.i got onto i-5 and let up on the gas at about 60 mph to go with the flow, but i could hear the engine growling and the car just kept going faster. The accelerator was stuck!i stepped hard on the brake but it barely slowed the car.i then tried tapping the accelerator but the little movement just made the car go faster and did not unstick the accelerator.i was really close to a major collision, i could not go into any other lane and i was very quickly approaching the vehicle in front of me.i was just trying to figure out if i should pull the hand break or turn the car off when i thought to use my left foot to pull back on the aftermarket floor mat.i did this with my foot still on the brake and shortly thereafter the issue resolved just before hitting anyone.i was 85% sure it was the floor mat, but then when i googled the issue, i see pretty much the exact same story and in those incidents it was not the floor mat.i took the mat out at as soon as i could.when i got home i tried to see if i actually could move the aftermarket rubber mat and it did not really move.so now i am 85% sure it was the car and not the mat.not being 100% sure of what caused the problem has me very nervous.

Gas pedal was stuck on highway and it took a couple miles to stop. Had car towed back to dealership.

I was driving on the interstate highway when the gas pedal stuck and the car continued to accelerate. I tried to stomp on the brake several times but was unsuccessful. Tried to turn the key, but couldn't get it to turn. Finally stomped repeatedly on the gas pedal until it released and stopped accelerating. There was nothing under the pedal causing it to hang. The floor mat was not in the way. I was in heavy traffic and only by the grace of god narrowly missed having an accident. Have not driven the car since i got it home.

The gas pedal will be stuck accelerating, and will not stop.the mat was not even on the floor when the incidents occurred.driving down interstate and also a back road, hit the break does not stop or disengage the vehicle; tap pedal does not disengage speeds up more and remains stuck.this is the 3rd time this has happened, and luck is the only reason an injury has not occurred.

On the evening of july 22nd the driver's side window made a sharp metal against glass sound as the window retracted into the door.when the glass moved back into its normal (up) position the glass had a deep scratch--large enough to feel with a nail.dealership claims the issue is due to dirt or debris.other forums on ford mustangs suggest the problem is due to the hard plastic gasket on the inner seal of the window.numerous posts/blogs describe the same issue of scratches forming for little known reasons.the dealership declined to cover my damage under warranty.
