I am filing this complaint to alert the nhtsa of a air bag safety issues in my 2006 ford mustang. Recently a safety defect issue was discovered about particular models of vehicles that received air bags from the manufacturer takata.i took the liberty of doing the research on the issues of which the air bag when deployed can send shards of metal or shrapnel into the upper region of both the driver and/or passenger. My year, make, model, and time-frame of vehicle purchased matched with the vehicles identified as being affected with one exception, my vehicle resides in a cold weather state. As my safety and the safety of my passengers is of the utmost important i contacted ford directly to have the issue remedied to be relayed that my vehicle was not a safety concern.primarily the claim that living someplace with cold weather somehow protects me from experiencing this deadly issue. To note. Colorado is a state that does in fact reach temperatures between the months of may-october of 100+ degrees on a multiple day basis(please review weather reports). In addition depending on where in colorado you are located there are areas of humid + hot weather conditions that you can experience. I do not have the option to have my air bag disabled by ford to protect my well being until a thorough investigation is completed, nor has ford reached out to consumers to identify what steps they are taking to ensure their safety. My well being is not being protected as it should and i would like something done about the issue. I would like to have the air bags in my vehicle removed and replaced to ensure that nothing as described in the recall occurs. While the manufacturers of the air bag and/or car company's may not feel i am at risk, they are not driving a vehicle with what equates to a potential ied in the steering wheel, and i should not be forced to take that chance.

Takata recall - my driver side airbag has already been replaced twice.i received an additional recall letter (16s26) from ford last summer, stating that my passenger side airbag needs to be replaced. Almost six months later, they still have not released parts to have this fixed. This is extremely frustrating, as i have not been able to carry passengers in my car for that entire time. Please do all you can to have the manufacturer release the parts as soon as possible.

During july 2016, i received a letter from ford motor company recalling one of my ford mustang air bags (recall 16v-384, 16s26).after patiently waiting for a year and a half for a letter stating new air bag inflators were available, i called ford last week to get a recall status.the ford representative stated that my recall was valid but ford could not tell me when a replacement air bag inflator would be available.this response from ford was outrageous since the takata air bag issue has been known for some years now and ford has had more than enough time to find and procurereplacements.please contact ford and demand they stop delaying progress on airbag replacements.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang. While driving at approximately 65, a deer struck the passenger side door and front passenger side bumper of the vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was driven to the insurance lot. The manufacturer was not notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 37,000.

While operatingthe vehicle you will lose dash lights, headlights at times, bright lights no longer work, passengerside airbag disabled light comes on, fan motor for heat/air stops working, left rear tail light is not working even after replacement of bulbs, door locks and window switches fail to work, traction control off light comes on, feedback comes through radio speakers as very course static. Some of these may be corrected by heavy breaking, acceleration or by turning car off and back on. This is only temporary and may repeat itself every few seconds.

I received a safety recall letter for my drivers side air bag and i have made several trips to the dealer and im being told to be patent and we will send you a letter when the work will be done , on the web site forrecalls it says this was first recalled in 2014,i feel this is un safe if its been this long but the ford dealership seems that they don't have the time, don't want to work with me or they just don't care, can someone please help me with this ?

I took my car in to have the drivers side air bag replaced once there i was imformed that the dealership only had the drivers side and not the passenger side which also needed replacement. About 6 months later i was imformed that the driver side may have been replaced with another defected air bag its been almost a year and a half and still they have not replaced these air bags. Each time i call the dealership they imform me they stiill do not have any replacement bags period from takata what is going on ????

Recall has dragged on for quite a long time. We had the drivers air bag replaced last summer with the promise of the other air bag be replaced as soon as it was released. I just called the dealer and they said the passenger air bag has still not released for our area. Safety for the passenger?

Have attempted to get on the waiting list to have air bag modules replaced, have been told "we never know when we will be getting the needed parts, just keep calling us" this has been over a year now and no parts available

Takata recall -- i recieved notice of the faulty airbag in the winter of 2017 that i had this recall on my car. I set an appointment in the spring of 2017 to have it replace but they did not have the parts at that time. It is currently november of 2017 and i still have not been notified that the parts are available to repair this recall. I was told by re barber ford of holland to keep an eye on my mail for notification.

Takata recall - we received a letter for this recall in july 2016. We immediately call our local lexington south carolina ford dealership.the dealership took our information and told us they would call us when the part came in.we have not been called and it is january.we did call back in october too follow up and they had no information except to wait.according to their letter this is a life-threatening situation - we cannot understand how the company can tell us the part is here - yet when we call the dealer, they knew nothing, still knew nothing three months later and still six months later. We are disappointed - if we are supposed to be protected by these laws, then why aren't they being enforced? thanks,[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'

"takata recall" i received a safety recall notice 16s26/nhtsa recall 16v-384 from ford motor company of dearborn michigan in july of 2016 for passenger airbag and still have not received a new airbag 1-1/2 years later! my last inquiry was on 9/28/17 to ed carney ford, east hanover, nj, who told me that the part is still not available! i panic whenever i have a passenger...especially my daughter in the car.why is it taking so long to get the replacement passenger airbag? someone please help!

Takata recallno solution has been provided and the recall was over 18 months ago.

Takata recall - - takata holdings inc has filed for chapter 11 and has notmadea replacement available for their defective and dangerous passenger side airbag which is still installed in my vehicle. I want it replaced and takata must make these repairs immediately at no cost to me or my family. Any passenger in my vehicle is at risk of injury or death from shrapnel should the airbag be deployed. Takata has replaced the driver side airbag but has not made a passenger side replacement available and it appears that it will not become available. In lieu of replacement, takata wants us to agree to a class action settlement and walk away from their responsibility with regard to manufacturing a safe replacement part to resolve the issue once and for all. We want the part replaced, not a cash settlement!

Takata recall - i am still waiting for ford to remedy my vehicle regarding this recall.it has been a year since my first call for help and i have actually called two ford dealers, one in fairfax, va and the other in chantilly, va.both claimed they were out of stock and would call me as soon as they had some.i followed up with both after several months only to get the same excuse.in all of this time i have received absolutely no communication from ford.no acknowledgements of my recall request, no updates, no status, no estimated time for arrival, absolutely nothing.

Taking airbags-ive been waiting for parts for over a year, and saw my local news report on my car, they warned me not to drive it until parts come in for repair.... Metal shrapnelwill explodeif an accident occurs, i want to know if i qualify for a rental car from my local ford dealership due to the dangers of driving if an accident occurs. On my local news several people were issued rental cars until the fix can be made, thank you.

Takata recall.on two occasions i asked ford to indicate whether or not the side air bags installed in my mustang were supplied by takata and if so would they be recalled. On both occasions ford sidestepped my request and refused to answer my questions directly.i believe ford is being dishonest, only trying to limit their liability, at my safety and expense.note: ford has recalled both the frontal air bags but has only replaced one.(see attached letters). Please instruct ford to indicate if the side air bags on my mustang were supplied by takata, instruct ford to recall them if they were and instruct ford to expedite the replacement of the takata air bags not yet replaced (the second frontal air bag recall is over a year old). Note: there is no doubt in my mind that ford has had enough time to resolve any technical or production issues and their delays are unreasonable.

Takata recall - the driver's side airbag was serviced, but the passenger side is original. I have been unable to use the passenger-side front seat of my car for nearly a year because i don't want my passengers sitting near the defective airbag.

Takata recalli have been waiting since june 1 for a repair of this recall. The dealer is still waiting on parts. I cannot let anyone ride in the front passenger seat for fear of injury.

Takata recall:we received a recall letter for the right side airbag (16v-384) july 2016, and now in feb 2017 we are still waiting on parts to be available with no expected date. Note we had already waited over a year for the driver side airbag (that recall letter was from july 2015) which was finally resolved, and why both weren't recalled at the same time boggles me.please push the parties to resolve replacing the right air bag.driving essentially in a dangerous condition with air bag recalls spanning for a year and a half now is not acceptable.

I came to a stop, looked to my left. Saw no car , and proceeded to leave to make a left. Car struck me on the left fender. Heard a long sound with white smoke all in the car that came from air bag, my face was struck so hard by the air bag that it made a large bump on forehead and eyes black in blue swollen with a headache that i've had for some days now. I've had to miss work all week, it also made me neck n side hurt.

I was notified in june, 2016 that there was a recall of the passenger frontal airbag on my car and it was potentially dangerous to the front passenger in case of a crash.since that time i have not allowed anyone to sit in the front passenger seat while awaiting correction of the problem.it has now been 18 months during which i have not had full use of my car and the passenger front airbag has not been replaced.this is egregious!!

Daughter was driving north on wilma rudolph blvd at 45-50 mph in clarksville, tennessee and attempted to slow down when brakes did not apply. She attempted to go around the vehicle in front of her direction of travel and rear-ended the vehicle on the right front passenger quadrant. Upon rear-ending the vehicle, she hit her head on the steering wheel then a split second later as her head was returning to the upright position the airbag deployed. The air bag deployed "after" and "late". This airbag was part of a ford recall and had been replaced at our local dealership. Additionally, the vehicle had the brake system serviced in december of 2018 and we had informed the dealership of brake system feeling "spongy". The dealership could not find any issues with the system.

Takata inflators.due to the outstanding recall of the passenger side air bag on my mustang, my ford dealer informed me that they would not take in as a trade or would have to offer me less then the car would be worth as a trade in because they would not resell the car and would take it straight to auction.since ford was originally responsible as they are the manufacturer that installed this air bag when the car was manufactured, and this is the reason that the vehicle has this issue, they should be stepping up and compensating either the owner or any dealer that would take this car in on trade for any loss in value so that the present owner is not tied to a vehicle because of the lost value due to this recall issue.

Takata recall:my passenger air bag has not be replaced.dealership has been waiting on the part for 1 1/2 years.this is a ridiculously long time to wait and exceedingly unsafe.

After calling the local ford dealer, redlands ford for months and always being told they could not get the parts for the recall and to try again next month finally on 7/24/17 we were excited to hear they had the drivers side parts in and we scheduled the repair for 7/25/17.we dropped the car of in the morning on7/25 excited to finally get this fixed. When we returned at 4:45 to pick up the car we were disapointed to notice it was still parked where it had been that morning. On inquiring with the service department we were told we would need to keep the car another day as they needed to order the part. When i informed them we were told yesterday the part was in stock when we scheduled the service we were told different models require different parts. When i told him they had verified the part by the vin number and asked what happened to the part he had in stock he refused to answer only saying they could reorder the part for the next day. I asked why they had not called me when they noticed they didn't have the part he ignored my question saying they needed to reorder the part.i asked him why if they could order the part and get it in the next day they had waited 15 months to do so. Again he ignored my question insisting i leave the car so they could order the part. We took our car and left, filing a complaint with the dealer and now with you. We now have the impression neither fmc nor the local dealers have any intention of completing the recall repairs and are just making life difficult so we give up.sad that my 17 year old son's safety rests in their hands.

Takata recallford has now warned us by mail that no one should sit in the front passenger seat until the repair has been made and that they will begin making repairs in nhtsa remedy order in the spring of 2018.this is unacceptable.expecting us to not use the front passenger seat in a mustang(which has only enough seating space in the back seat for a very small child without a car seat) is totally unacceptable.and, as we have no idea where we will fall in the remedy priority order, it could be a very long time before our repair parts are available to us and we are able to safely transport more than one person in this vehicle.something more has to be done.this has gone on far too long.

Takata recalli have not been able to transport my grandchildren in my vehicle for months.is there an option to avoid waiting for the manufactures to correct this problem? are there approved air bag repair facilities that can fix this problem?it appears that it may be several years before my car is repaired.

Takata airbag recall. I don't own this vehicle anymore. Transferred title to my ex spouse in 7/18. Maryland mva confirms vehicle retitled. I keep getting notices for recall with my pa address on them and ford won't change owner name or address. They actually send the recalls to me in another state that this vehicle has never been titled or registered in. I have tried and tried to get ford to send the recall notices to my former spouse who has this vehicle. We are not able to communicate to each other due to "no contact" orders in place. I think my former spouse has a right to have the vehicle repaired but i can't or have anyone i know forward these notices to them and ford just sits there and does nothing. I have even went to the point of having a letter sent to me by the maryland mva confirming that the vehicle was re titled and has a new owner and ford still won't accept that, they insist their "third party" company gets the information from the registered vehicles in each state. The registration for this vehicle was cancelled in my name and the plates were returned to the maryland mva months ago. The latest recall notice came yesterday. Is it going to take an accident or possible death and lawsuit for ford to comply and change the owner information? i don't know what to do to get this corrected. I keep getting the runaround and apparently it is very critical that it is addressed.

I have documented eight separate unsuccessfulattempts to repair outstanding recalls on my vehicle due to fordā€™s repeated refusal and continued failure to provide a loaner vehicle for the duration of the repair. Whether the required time is half-day or one week it makes no difference, i cannot run my business without a vehicle. Please advise how to proceed.thanks

After getting the drivers airbag in my 08 ford mustang i have received info that it read only a temporary fix. So the drivers airbag had to be replaced again. The passengers side air bag is also defective. With no replacement parts available until spring/ summer 2018. So anyone riding in passengers side is st risk of harmful damage or death. They are not willing to provide me with a loaner car. So i asked what i can do to protect my passengers in the meantime. They tell me to have them ride in back seat. There's no back seat for adults bc it's a. Convertible. That leaves the trunk for a passenger. I'm afraid of getting sued by someone getting hurt in my car due to the negligence of ford motor co.

"takata recall"i was notified by letter dated july 2016 of the recall16v-384 and so far the defective airbag has not been replaced.the dealer told me yesterday they may have the part within the next quarter butare not sure.it will be almost a year since i was notified of this potentially life threatening issue.apparently ford does not care about its customer's.i was told by a representattve at ford headquarters i could sue the dealer if a passenger was injured or died as a result of the defective airbag.the bottom line is i would like to have the defective airbag replaced immediately and something done so ford is not able to continue to risk lives for such an extended period when it knows of a major safety defect.

When setting up a date to replace both air bags, i was told that this could take 2-4 days. I told them that this is the only form of transportation i have and can you give me a loaner car. They said yes, we can rent you a car. The recall notice states "no cost" and now they want $$$ for a rental. Two of my colleagues had loaner cars from gmc & doge dealers. I have asked four dealers in my area, with no luck. What recourse do i have?

Takata recall - i have been trying to get a replacement airbag for this defective airbag since august of 2016. I have contacted c&c ford in horsham pa several several times (joe in service) and they have stated they have not received any replacement airbags to remove the defective one. This is an extreme hazard to myself and passengers. I have a difficult time getting anyone to drive with me now because of it. Having recently become pregnant i fear for my life and my unborn babies. This is unacceptable and needs to be addressed immediately.i am afraid every time i get in my car now. Having to wait well over a year for a defective airbag that was forced into my car is not acceptable. I need this defect removed and a safe airbag put in my car immediately. I cannot have my passengers or unborn child harmed because of this insanity. My vehicle is still in tack.

Takata recall - driver side air bag was replaced last year but nothing is available from ford to fix the passenger side airbag.unable to use car with a passenger.

2006 mustang gt: took the car to holman ford dealership for the airbag recall. When removing the passenger side airbag the threaded holes on both the airbag assembly and the holes on the frame of the car were stripped. I was told there is no way to secure the assembly back onto the car safely. The dealership contacted ford corporate for a remedy. It's been 2 months since i dropped the car off for the recall and other non related repairs. I filed a complaint with corporate and was issued a case number. It's been a week with no response from corporate or the dealership. I'm concerned that if and when the repair is done, will the repair be done correctly and will the car be safe to drive. I feel as if any repair is done it will be just be a quick fix and not safe. I'm at the mercy of the dealership at this point to return my car in a safe and secure condition. I have a few pictures the dealership sent me showing the stripped threaded holes. At this point i'm not sure what course of action needs to be taken. I get recall notices on a weekly basis which infuriates me considering i haven't had my car for 2 months for that exact issue.

Takata recall - 16v-384. On 4-16 i called the local ford dealer (interstate ford, colorado) and told them i wanted to get my recall performed on my vehicle.they told me the parts were not avail. Here in co but only in the humid areas.i told them that i often travel to humid areas and that i would like the recall parts installed. They told me i would have to talk to ford to get parts as they could not do anything.i called ford customer relationship center and they, wendy (2188296), told me that they did not know when the parts would be available and that i would just have to wait.i told her what i told interstate ford service dept.she told me it would be ok for me to travel with a passenger in the front seat, which is opposed to what ford has stated.she then told me that i would have to call back to the dealer to be put on a wait list for the recall as they could do nothing and knew nothing about parts availability.i told her that i needed the parts now, as the dealer and her stated that some dealers do have the recall parts now (conflicting statements were made in the same conversation).i told her that i wanted ford to get the parts sent to my local dealer to have this fixed.she told me she could not do that and did not know when the parts would be available.wendy then said she would call the dealer to have me put on a waitlist.she called the dealer as i waited on the phone line.she got back on about 5 minutes later and told me that the dealership computers were down and i would have to call them in 2 hours, when the computers should be back up.i feel that i was getting the run around with the dealership and fmc.each told me to talk to the other and neither was able to tell me when i would be able to get my recall performed.i have not been able to get the recall scheduled to date.

A 2006 ford mustang, with 5400 miles on the odometer, was involved in a two vehicle traffic collision.the driver of the mustang rear ended a ford ranger pickup truck at approximately 40 mph.upon impact, the airbag of the mustang failed to deploy and the driver's seat belt failed to lock and restrain the driver.since both restraint systems failed, the driver of the mustang struck the steering wheel with her chest.extensive front end damage was sustained by the mustang.after the collision, the airbag warning light on the instrument panel was flashing, and the seat belt was found fully extended and would not retract.

Visited ford dealership to have airbag warning light checked. They checked it and told me that the drivers side airbag had a defective connector and requires replacement. This is a 2006 vehicle that has a defective airbag connector? this is not right.they want to charge me $275.00 to replace the part.

As of today my 2006 mustang has 58,953 miles on it and it is on it's third alternator. The first one failed at around the 56,000 mile mark and was replaced.my friend and i had traveled about 60 miles n from sacramento to an area between alta and dutch flats and i had turned off the ac and put the windows down. I heard a strange crackling sound andipulled over about a half a mile afterwards and shut off the engine,we smelled something burning and lifted up the hood. And that was the end of the 2nd alternator it had lasted about 1600 miles.the sparks that were shooting out of the alternator looked like a 4th of july sparkler, and we're stranded in the middle of nowhere. And i'mon the 3rd alternator with less than 59000 miles. Two months later maybe 600 more miles and water from the split in the wiper cowling runsinto the car which went unnoticed for several days.i had standing water in the front passenger floor board and some in the rear as well. My repair estimate of almost $600.00, plus a rental car and not including pulling the carpet and heating the floorboard as rust prevention. My feeling is it's not over yet as i have read a lot of the other complaints from people with the same issue. I have noticed the engine has started to crank like it might not start.fordposts record profits all the while refusing to acknowledge the financial hardship to loyal consumers who just wanted to own their pretty mustang, and paid well for it.we are real, we have lives that are affected by this in real and meaningful ways.......help us! listen tous, for every person that found their way to this web site and posted their complaint their are hundreds out there with the same problems who aren't even aware of this process.we haven't gone out and caused this damage to our cars, we are not at fault and wedeserve remediation.please help.

2006 ford mustang-car brought into dealership on 5/2013 with c/o water leaking on passenger floor board. This was supposedly fixed.check car engine light was on for the fifth time and this time they replaced the alternator for the second time. Car now(2/14) would not start and the interior of the car is full of mold spores! i have read the forums on line and it is well documented that ford has known about this leak since 2007 and never recalled this because it was not a "safety" issue however i think it is a huge safety issue when there is water leaking on the inside of the car, the windshield on the inside looks like it is raining and the car has had multiple electrical issues several of which the car has stopped working while driving on the interstate. Now on top of this we have a major health issue and the dealer does not want to take responsibility for this.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang. The contact stated that during inclement weather, water leaked into the vehicle from behind the glove compartment. On one occasion, while driving 55 mph, all the electrical components failed. In addition, the contact stated that the battery would get wet causing the vehicle to fail to start. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 150,000. Updated 2/9/15

Pcm module/crash data report says that the throttle position sensor went to 100% with accelerator at 60% and then the throttle stayed wide open until accelerator pedal was released to approx 23% percent. Why is there a 40% difference in the pcm data from accelerator pedal position to the throttle position. At the trial a guy from ford said this is normal and the throttle is designed this way. My husband is now on his way to prison. Is this true and can anyone help or advise us.

When i try to put gas in my car the car will only allow me to put half of a tank in the car and i have to force it to take more which as cause the gasoline to overflow even when the tank is not full. I have tried taking it to various gasoline stations all different brands to see if there are any differences but have not had any success.also the vehicle is staionary. This originally happen in 2019 but it has happen every time since then. Also my reverse light will not turn off for some reason. Don't know why.

Ford mustang batteries light is coming on replace with new and check alternator it good but batteries light still on. I did a search and found that this problem has been report numerous time with no help. Something is cause the battery to be drain on the 2006 ford mustang and it not the alternator. I just want to know why haven't a investigation has be done to look into this problem. We just brought this mustang 11/13/2014 and we have this problem and found that a lot of other complaint about the same or similar issue. Please i beg someone to look into this before the worst happen and a life is lose because of a car die while bring drive bc of lost of power because of.

For about 3 years, constant problem with water leaking onto my passenger floor board. I have to put plastic bags outside the windshield underneath the wipers every time it rains.this doesn't keep all the rain from coming in but it helps.i can no longer go through a car wash because it floods the inside of my car.i now have a plastic bucket on the passenger floor board in case it rains while i am driving so the interior doesn't get flooded.there is now a mildew smell in my car.there have been many complaints about this so it is ridiculous that we consumers have to foot the bill for an issue that ford has known about for a long time.the last time i checked with a dealer a few years ago they said it would cost approx. $800-900 to try to fix; i'm sure some people have an extra grand laying around but i sure don't.ford needs to issue a recall on this issue!!it is a safety as well as a health hazard, especially if people have small children.i am the second owner of the car and it started at about 70,000 miles.

This is really unbelievable [and yes this is yet another leak thread]. I have been hawking the entire leak issue, and a member here in a recent post has identified the smoking gun - clear proof that ford is hiding a known leak problem with a band-aid.many have asked and wondered why a piece of white foam exists over the electrical box (sjb) within their passenger compartment side kick panel. Well, in response to one of the threads here, one of our members has now posted this: "... In ford's factory service manual under the section on replacing the electrical box ...(sjb) ... Inside the passenger side kick panel, ford refers to the foam sheet over the sjb as a "watershield" and cautions not to remove it when installing the new box ..."if this is true, and it should be verified by someone with access to the manuals [which i do not have], here are the facts:ford designs and builds a vehicle with an electrical box (sjb) located inside the passenger cabin of the vehicle. In fact, the sjb is nestled between the outer fender and the interior kick panel. But for some reason - clearly known to ford - they find the need to include a foam "watershield" to protect the sjb from water infiltration.certainly this is [xxx] product quality at it's finest, but it would seem that it is far more. It would appear that it is proof positive for those with the problem to demand that the national highway traffic safety administration (nhtsa) force a recall of the vehicle if only enoughowners notified nhtsa accordingly [another topic/strategy discussed on these forums].it's black and white. The sn197 leaks, and ford has know about it for a long time, and has yet to take appropriate action. And no; a tsb does not qualify. The manufacturer is responsible for fixing the vehicle. Writing a checklist - to be used only when a owner complains about the problem - is not the same as fixing the problem.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The "well" underneath the windshield became clogged with debris, causing water to back up through the a/c vents into the car, damaging the electrical equipment. There are no instructions in the manual related to servicing this part of the car.additionally, the door handles can become "stuck" in the open position without the driver noticing because the door still closes; however, the doors may come back open when the vehicle is operated.

2006 ford mustang.consumer writes in regards to vehicle broke down and computer recall issues.the consumer was informed a new computer was needed for the vehicle, and ford had recalled it due to a known issue.however, the part was on back order.after 2 months of not having her vehicle, the part was still on back order. Ford informed the consumer, to have the vehicle towed to a ford dealership. The part neeed was an ecu, the main computer.

2006 ford mustang has a windshield vent leak problem, the problem is that the windshield rain vent becomes clogged and drips water into the passengers side kick panel were there is a computer control box the connection become corroded and causes electrical problems. Ford is aware of the problem but refuses to issue a recall to correct the problem. This is a safety issues as it one could cause a fire, two could cause the car to loose power and therefore controlled braking or steering, simply replacing the parts dose nothing to prevent the safety issue. I am told this is a problem with the 2005, 2006, and 2007 mustangs.

Water leak issue coming from the windshield and cowl area leaking into the passenger side compartment shorting out the smart junction box causing the gauges and all electrical to go haywire such as the headlight to go out while driving and the traction control to turn off as well as the windows and power locks to quit working and could cause an electrical fire inside the care if gone un noticed.i have the vehicle in the shop and this is going to cost me $600 or more due to fords knowing of an issue they will not own up to fix to ensure safety.

In city traffic at a stop light, went to step on the gas to accelerate, the engine started extreme shaking & the car would not go. Shut off the engine & restarted it. The wrench light & check engine light came on the dashboard and car went into limp mode & lost all acceleration. After multiple attempts at restarting, the car was not drivable. Had the car towed to the dealership, advised service rep of consumer satisfaction program 13n03 & was informed that ford will not honor the program for 2006 mustang.

1. Trunk too high; back windows slope blind driver from street light reflection.2. Hood and windshield designed deny driver from seeing the curves coming on side angles. (causing vehicle ending up on curve)3. Abs auto activate when vehicle going over pothole, causing slipping and driver cannot control the braking distance.4. Ac/heat fan auto activate without consent even when sitting on off.i have a v6, 2006 mustang. The safety issue that i have is the fact that the design of the vehicle that jeopardizing the children under 3 feet tall.: their trunk are too high and the slanted mirror block visibility. At night time backing out is very hard and there are many blind spots. I have backed up into another car already due to the poor visibility and light reflection: back window design with an angle that blind drivers when night light hits. The owner and isettled in cash.the front hood of the vehicle center line formed an upside down v-shape whereas it highest peak is in the middle and at night time driving it has limited my viewing ability: ended up on two curve, because the ceiling height were too low.

My car idles uncontrollable and jerks whenever it is driven.if i stop or drive at slow speeds it will just stop running on its own.isimply restart it and it will go, but it will keep jerking and idling.

Car suddenly went into limp mode, no reason. Just started it up one day and it just did not want to move. No one knows how to get it out of the mode. Many mechanics have tried with no luck. Now a mechanic says i have a faulty computer. 3 years of it acting this way.. Computer diagnosis showed many things messed up, even after replacing all of those (and i am sure some were uneeded) the car is still in limp mode, has no power at all and has been basically down for 3 years. Beautiful lawn ornament but it being all i have left of my late husband, i'm not happy it just sits there.no mechanic wants to even touch it!

Car would not start.

Water first noticed leaking inside the vehicle on 5/2013 and was -tsb performed on seals at cowl panel. Car leak was not fixed and started leaking again at same sight, this time with extensive mold spore damage which can be a significant health risk. This car has had multiple(at least 5 times)check engine light coming on,several times the car has just stalled while driving and so far 2 batteries and 2 alternators have been put in to this car and it makes you wonder if water has been leaking since purchase into the electrical system of this car. This has been a known problem at ford since 2007 but a recall was never issued. I am not sure what it takes to issue a recall but i would hate it to be a respiratory illness or a crash that would bring it to this.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang.while driving approximately 10 mph on wet road conditions, the vehicle came to a stop sign and then proceeded to accelerate.suddenly, the contact heard water coming from the front passenger side of the vehicle.the contact pulled over to the side of the road and the driver observed that the passenger floor panel area and the glove compartment exhibited water leakage.the vehicle resumed normal operation to his residence.the following day, the engine failed to start.the vehicle was towed to the authorized dealer for diagnostic testing and they stated that the failure was contributed to an electrical shortage in the junction box.the technician stated that this was a manufacturer design flaw with the drainage.a fan was used to dry out the junction box; however, the electrical failures still persist.the exterior components that were inoperative consist of: taillights, parking lights, emergency brake lights, turn signals, rear back up lights, and thelow beams.the vin was unknown.the failure and current mileages were 52,000.

Water leaked into passenger floor board area. Got the sjb unit wet. Lights, door locks, radio started flickering on/off. No control over electrical items in car cabin. Seat belts seemed to tighten and loosen.

The speedometer, tachometer, rpm, gas gauge and probably cool/heat gauge aren't working.i see a lot of people complaining of the same issues with the model year online.what can be done to fix them?i just bought the car yesterday and spotted it as i was driving car home

For a while now i have been experiencing after rain - water flowing through the passenger side firewall and along the passenger side kick board where the smart conjunction box (fuse box) is.i have taken it to a ford dealer who said he didn't know what i was talking about and would be $95.00 to start looking in to what the problem is.this past saturday, i parked my vehicle the key was stuck in the ignition and the car will not shift out of park.after searching online it seems this issue can be directly related to water damage. Water seeping in to the fuse box.i also found online where there are a number of model years that have had this issue.now i am going to be stuck with a gigantic repair bill for a design flaw that ford knows about and could of issued a recall for.

Around one month after i bought the car intermittently the i would encounter surges when starting to go at lights or parking the car, coming to a stop... Now the car is stalling same as the surges... I have replaced many parts trying to resolve the issue. Now it has become a serious hazard to drive and costly!

When someone finally dies from this incident which has been reported numerous times by consumers both on this site and with tsb's from ford issued as early as 2007 then someone will take notice just like what just happened at gm. Please do something before someone dies. There are multiple electrical failures due to a serious water leak affecting the entire car. My 2006 ford mustang has been at the dealership since feb. 8 2014 and we just picked it up for this issue which was supposedly fixed once before. Now with another fee of $1,200.00 paid we picked up our car after 2 months and upon driving the car home the ac is not working and the sensor lights are on for the door!!! what does it take for someone to realize there is a major problem here? this comes after an extensive water leak that caused serious mold damage inside the car along with electrical issues, one of which a new battery was needed. This was first "repaired" in 5/2013 but was not repaired because in 12/2013 there was a massive interior flood which lead to a massive interior mold problem and the car also would not start and was towed to two separate dealerships. No one wants to assume responsibility and there is a huge amount of data out there supporting the fact that ford has known about this issue as early as 2007. The manager at the ford dealership told us that although he would assume no responsibility for the car because ford has not issued a recall he would not let his wife or children drive in that car!!

Numerous little failures.gas light stays on, levers on seat backs both broken, side mirrors needed replaced, both sides.when accelerating the car surges, then chokes, surges again.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang. The contact stated that water collected inside the vehicle and caused the smart junction box which is connected to the horn to rust. The horn is currently inoperable. The dealer has stated that if the top area of the junction box was free of debris it would not have been covered with rust.the contact would like the manufacturer to assume responsibility of the repair cost. The current mileage was 27,000 and failure the mileage was 26,500.

While trying to pass a car to my right, during mid-level acceleration, my engine experienced uncontrolled acceleration from 40mph to 70mph before i could respond and turn the ignition to the off position, killing the engine. This is the fourth time this has happened to me in two years. The first time was under hard acceleration while trying to merge into traffic. The engine red-lined and i had to put the cat in neutral and shut off the ignition. The next three time i experienced this was during moderate to light acceleration in passing cars between the speeds of 35mph and 45 mph.i have eliminated the floor mat as a cause for this. I have the anchor and grommet type mat that cannot slide forward.my fear is that a less experienced driver would have crashed in any of these four occurrences.

During idle speed, car shuts off below 1,000 rpms and has to be re-started. During startup, car does not crank until about the third time it is turned over. Thought at first that this was due to bad gas. So i finished running tank out with heet, filled it up with gas from a different company and it is still doing the same thing. It is not gas. It does tie into the delivery of the fuel or the ignition of the car with is possibly a sensor problem. There are sensors that are not tied into the computer and relays and do not show up with the check service light. This same problem happened last month, but then re-occurred during this month more than once and the most recent was yesterday, 10/06/06. It is only getting worse. Something is wrong with the engine or the sensors. I have given the service department various ideas, since the engine light is not on, as to what could be causing it. They told me that if there was no light on in the car then it was my problem because they need a service engine light on in the car. It is not the gas that i have put in my car. I run 87 octane from shell. I have never had a problem with gas from shell. Also, the fuel gauge system in the car sticks and shows empty and bounces from empty to full to half-full for my tank and the miles per empty gauge on my display meter jumped from 5 miles to empty to 300 miles to empty down to 150 miles to empty.

I was stopped at a light when my wrench light came on. I tried to drive but my vehicle was jerking really bad.i prayed driving down the access road that i would just make it to the dealership 10 miles away. I pulled in shut the vehicle off. They kept my car overnight and when i picked it up the next day they could not find anything wrong with it and when they turned it on no wrench light. One week later, my car did this again...except this time i left my vehicle on so they could see the wrench light. They replaced the fuel pump...faulty. Only had 20,000 miles on my 2006 mustang v6. Now it is nov. And my manual transmission is gone. After owning 6 standard vehicles this is the first time i have ever had a clutch go out. Dealership said i got the last part in the us...backordered till march 2008. I have since gone to pick up my vehicle 2 times...first time we stood in line to be told that they had test driven it again and they had to re-do the job. Went to pick it up last night and almost got stranded with my two kids because it was not drivable. First it was stuck in 1st gear...had to turn the car completely off to put it in neutral. So then i tried to put it in first and no luck. Then i tried one last time got it to move about 20 yards forward before i noticed there was a loud clunking noise coming from under the hood. This was at 9pm...called this morning at 11am and was told my car was ready and it was the starter. Yeah right. Got one invoice last night only need two more before they buy my lemon back!! wish me luck!

While traveling to work i unknowingly approached a patch of black ice at speed of 35mph. Upon realizing the road condition i lifted throttle to coast over the ice in an attempt to safely decelerate. The rear wheels locked causing an uncontrollable slide. The car rotated 90 degrees right before stopping in the middle of the road. I maneuvered the car to the side of the road to inspect for damage and find the cause. The right rear brake disc was glowing red. It had unknowingly been dragging. When i lifted throttle, the icy condition in conjunction with the dragging passenger rear brake caused the passenger rear tire to lock unexpectedly. The car has a positive engagement differential, this caused the opposite wheel to lock. This caused the car to be uncontrollable when throttle was not applied on icy patches of road, at any speed.i slowly navigated the car to a near by gas station and called off from work. After becoming aware of the condition, i was able to very slowly drive the car home. After some research, i found that this is a known issue to ford motor company. The same condition that causes the problem described in ford tsb 06-5-4 "park brake cables that freeze in cold weather due to water intrusion, and subsequently lead to dragging rear brakes" are also conditions that if unknowingly driven in, could cause a loss of control with fatal consequences to the driver, other drivers, and pedestrians.

Traveling to temple, texas to visit mom for her birthday; i set my cruise at 70 mph as usual while traveling. I approached a slow moving vehicle, slowed down to make sure there was no one coming, turned my signal on and touched the gas pedal to increase speed. When i passed the vehicle and got back in my lane, my car continued to gain speed and was quickly up to 85 mph and increasing. I touched the brakes to slow it down and they would not hold or slow downthe vehicle.i was terrified knowing there are a lot of curves on that particular road and possibly no way to avoid hitting someone. I looked for the safest place to pull over and saw an empty church parking lot and hoped i could get the car stopped in that area. By this time, i was applying the brakes as hard as i could, i managed to get it there but not before hitting a historical marker and snapping it off at the bottom. The impact seemed to slow me a little bit and i guided it between two big trees and managed to get the speed down to about 40 mph, slammed the gear shift in park while the engine was still racing and turned the key off. I waited about 5 or ten minutes and started the car and the engine was still racing at a very high rate of speed. I tried to start it again in a few minutes and the engine was still racing; i turned it off, called someone to come get me and called a wrecker to pick up the car. This was the most terrifying experience i had ever had in my 46 years of being licensed to drive a vehicle!

While driving to work one chilly morning i could not feel any warm air coming from the heat or the windshield defroster. I had to return to home because the windows were fogging up and i had no heat. I drove another car to work that day.i later discovered the thermostat housing gasket had a slow leak and allowed most of the antifreeze to leak out.this was the reason the defroster was not working also the thermostat is no longer in contact with any fluid, only the plastic housing, and the temperature indicator never read much above cold while my engine is overheating internally due to low coolant.after replacing the thermostat housing and sensor i still smell antifreeze leaking from some where possibly the head gasket and have to top off the radiator more frequently.i believe this design, placing the temperature sensor in the thermostat housing, is a safety hazard.first off if you have a coolant leak the defroster will just stop working while your temperature reading will be normal or still cold. Secondly engine failure could occur, due to a false temperature indication, and could cause an accident while driving in traffic.

I was stopped completely.the traffic light changed to green in the intersection.i pressed the accelerator and it went all the way to the floor and stayed there.i flew thru the intersection at top speed with the brake pushed as hard as i could with no deceleration at all. I traveled approximately 150 yards wide open. I stomped the gas pedal and tried to get it to release with no luck. I finally turned the ignition off and jumped a curb to get it stopped just before i would have rear-ended a vehicle in front of me. Flat spotted 2 brand new front tires.it was terrifying!it cost me $721.32 to get the throttle body replaced. After i got home i google ford acceleration problems and discovered there is a class action suit in 30 states against ford for the same thing that happened to me.this problem needs to be corrected and i need a refund from ford for the defective throttle body and 2 new tires.

I was at a stop getting ready to merge with traffic when the car just died. I restarted the car but it ran real ruff i barely got off the road. I had to towe the car home it's the throttle -by-wire this system needs to be addressed before someone gets hurt.thanks lee

I had to replace a defective throttle body due to repeated warning lights and "limp-home" mode events.

Sudden acceleration. Happened 3-4 times before. Cruise control on highway. I rolled into it (that is not flooring it) and it would not stop accelerating. Used brakes to control car, turned off ignition, and stopped on shoulder. I had to wait what seemed like 2-3 minutes before it would restart without racing. Tonight was different. I had braked off cruise control as i exited 94e to 65n. As i began to plan my merge onto 65 a guy alone in the right lane would not move over, i rolled into and the acceleration happened again.there was no shoulder at first and the brakes were almost overwhelmed. I turned off ignition and coasted forward until i got a shoulder. On my second restart it reved to 3,000 rpm then very slowly got to a normal idle. I started driving again.

My car idles uncontrollable and jerks whenever it is driven.if i stop or drive at slow speeds it will just stop running on its own.isimply restart it and it will go, but it will keep jerking and idling.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang. The contact stated as soon as she would release her foot from the accelerator pedal, the vehicle would sporadically stall and the check engine light would illuminate. The dealer was unable to diagnose the failure and the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to a local repair facility where the independent mechanic replaced the throttle. The failure continued to recur. The contact stated she was afraid to drive the vehicle. There were no further repairs. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000 and the current mileage was 6,046.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang. The contact stated that intermittently while driving, an unspecified warning light will illuminate on the instrument control panel, and then the vehicle will stall. The vehicle was taken to a local repair facility for inspection. A mechanic concluded that he would have to pay $800.00 to replace the electronic throttle control. No repairs were made.the manufacturer was notified, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 47,800. The current mileage was 48,000.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang.while driving 70 mph the vehicle stalled. Occasionally, the vehicle will restart and when it doesn't, the vehicle has to be towed.the rpm's also increased to 2000, which made it difficult to decelerate. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 25000. The current mileage was 26000.

Normal usage vehicle with 63,000 miles, steel crankshaft pulley separated from rubber hub. Repair includes replacing crankshaft pulley and other items damaged by part failure.caused loss of steering control, as well as engine stalling if speed sensor is damaged as a result of crankshaft pulley damaging it.

I started to notice that once i hit a steady 30-35 mph (on the streets) it hesitates to accelerate. Then it jerks and im running normal again. Took it to the transmission mechanic. He said my trans fluids are fine, however, my pan is "burnt". I do fine on the freeway. Its mostly when im driving through the streets and stop and go at lights. He ran some codes and the results were the "gear 5 incorrect ratio and the solenoid" ---something(sorry). He said to overhaul a trans i would be looking at $1800+.

Ford 2006 factory spark plugs are corroded and rusted.they break inside of the gasket, causing an overall of the head gasket.this has cost several hundred dollars to repair.

I currently own a 2006 premium v6 ford mustang, and i regularly get my vehicle serviced. My most recent service visit was for an oil change along with all the other standard preventative maintenance that is performed with the oil change; performed 05/20/11.upon completion, the service adviser told me the mechanic found coolant residue on the vehicle, but that i would not have to worry about it and it was probably nothing.on 06/24 i decided to drive to nevada for the weekend, and my engine overheated due to the coolant leak.i had a horrible experience being stuck in the middle of the desert with no cell phone coverage and little to no traffic on the route i took.it took over six hours before i was able to attain help and have my vehicle towed to the nearest ford service facility - which costed over $500 to tow.i was advised the thermostat housing cracked and leaked, possibly due to improper tightening.my engine apparently is out of warranty now, so i am facing a 4000+ dollar service bill for an engine replacement.had i been told residue could be a sign of a potential leak that could cause engine failure, i would have paid whatever was necessary to repair the defect. I thought i could confide in my ford dealership in maintaining my vehicle, but apparently i cannot.i am appalled with this experience that serviced my vehicle.i understand my engine is out of warranty, but something needs to be done, because this is clearly negligence on ford's behalf for not advising me coolant was leaking and my engine could potentially fail.my adviser only told me there was residue found, and it was probably nothing i had to worry about. My wife was pulling into a parking space--i was in the car as well.about half way into the parking spot, the engine suddenly began reving and the car jumped forward causing a head on collision with the truck in front of us.

2006 v6 ford mustang - premature failure of the coolant thermostat housing, failed at 69,699 miles at 60 mph.steam from hood, blocked vision, was able to eventually pull to shoulder for safety.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled numerous times without warning while driving 25 mph. The local mechanic replaced the radiator three times and the battery was also replaced. The failure was not corrected and the vehicle continued to stall without warning. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who performed a diagnostic and located the failure at the engine. The dealer advised that the engine would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 80,000 and the current mileage was 100,000.

Why aren't dealers required to notify vehicle owners of tsb's which may result in part failure and expensive repairs, especially within the warranty period, or be required to offer extended warranty on those items? 2006 ford mustang v6 had a/c pump failure (resulting in expensive system repair) at 31,000k miles for which there was a tsb that could have been performed within the warranty period at relatively low cost.

On aug 5, my coolant was at normal levels at a routine maintenance exam.in the dark in a bad neighborhood on aug 7, my car overheated.the next morning, the car was returned to the mechanic who saw the car wed as the car could not make it to a ford dealership and ford would not complimentary tow the car.the mechanic found that the coolant had drained out as thermostat housing 2l2z8592ba was defective and had broken.they explained that lately they have seen this in many fords as ford has changed this part's material and is now making it of a less durable material.a replacement part was ordered from the dealership where i purchased the car who always needs to part number to order any part.they said they did not need the part number this time which indicates that they have had to order this replacement part frequently. The repair costs were $610.i have the part if anyone needs to examine it or photograph it, but they may not keep it unless i am reimbursed in full first. This part lasted the lifetime of my 99 mustang and 91 explorer and should have lasted the lifetime of this car.it lasts the lifetime of other company's cars. Please look into a recall of this defective part for safety reasons as it causes cars to stop working unexpectedly.on an expressway this could cause an accident.if a woman is driving alone in a neighborhood she would drive through in a locked car but would not stop in for safety reasons, when the car stops working unexpectedly from this problem she could become the victim of a violent crime that would not have occurred if her car continued working.

Have had this car in the shop two times previously. One because the fuel pump was bad, the second because there was a throttle variance and a variancein the transmission and the wrench came on in the vehicle then disappeared.this was checked and supposedly nothing was wrong with the car, because the wrench light was off and never came back on. On saturday dec. 16, 2006 there was another transmission variance and throttle variance with the car.today, monday dec. 18, 2006 on my way to work, the engine light flashed on and off then disappeared.

I have a 2006 mustang with only 7500 miles on it and i have owned it now for about two weeks. Today i was driving on a residential street and the engine just turned off. I pulled the car over to the side and turned the car back on and it was fine. I drove home with no issues. I was almost on the interstate when this happened and it could have been very dangerous. If you complete a google search on 2006-2009 mustangs, this issue seems to be listed several times.when the engine shut off, i checked all the fluids in the car and they were all fine. It did not sound like their was an issue with the engine; this seems more like a glitch in the system, something that ford should recall and fix.because the engine was turned off, the steering was hard to control, if i was going at a faster speed, i may not have been able to pull the car over to the side of the interstate. This could have created a serious accident.

Catalytic converter: long story short. My car was still eligible under the emissions warranty. Which made it eligible for ford to repair the cat. Converter by law. I was given the run around (per ford customer service)that my car wasn't covered under the "bumper to bumper" warranty since i had bought the car used.at that time(nov. 2010) there was a major. Nationwide back order on cat. Converters. I waited until february to take my car down to ford under the assumptions that i was responsible to pay for the $1200+ repair cost. Since i was under 80,000 miles.. Ford paid for my rental for a month and i had my cat. Converter fixed :). People kept telling me that my car was too new to have that problem. Well you never know. It just stopped working one day and i couldn't drive it over 5-10 mph.

3rd breakelight extreemly dim the other brake lights are fine. I was told by mechanic it was a computer issue . I noticed a number of munstangs of the same model also with the same issue. This is a safty issue as it is also part of the safty inspection. I excatly how many auto colisions does it take or deaths before this is taken care of.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang. The contact stated that while turning on the vehicle and activating the headlights, the driver side headlight failed to remain illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing; however, the details could not be provided. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 135,000.

My headlights went dim on the expressway almost causing and accident and i been having front suspension issues where you can hear loud banging noise i have change my struts several times i have check for recall and there is a recall notice for both but it does not show on the ford website i found these two recalls id's 77553 and 63858 for my 06 ford mustang can i get some help resolving this issue

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang.the contact stated that the headlight covers on his vehicle have gathered moisture, which reduces visibility while driving at night.the headlights are very dim.he took the vehicle back to the dealer for the headlights to be changed; however, they stated that it could not be done.the failure mileage was 47,000.updated 11/07/08 updated 11/07/08.

Since the purchase of a 2006 mustang gt i have experienced trouble in filling the gas tank.after so much gas has entered the tank the gas starts to spew back out all over the side of the vehicle.to me this creates a potential fire hazard if the gas were to spew back onto the person fueling the car. I have read other complaints to i know that i am not the only one experiencing this problem. I believe there should be some kind of recall and ford should buy back all of these vehicles that aren't safe to fuel. No vehicle is safe to drive due to other humans on the road and sometimes factory error but there is no reason to not feel safe to fuel your vehicle.

2006 mustang 4.0 operated at 68 mph for 22 miles. Came to intersection and stopped. Accelerated while turning into traffic and vehicle hesitated and engine died. I was nearly hit by tractor trailer rig broadside at 50 + mph. Nhtsa and ford motor co. Are aware of this defect as per tsb 06-9-9 which advises to replace original fuel pump with 7r3z-9h307-c fuel pump at the expense of the vehicle owner. This is a safety issue not a tsb issue! someone will be killed by this defect! it also is not in safety's interest to expect vehicle owners to spend more than $300.00 out of pocket for this repair when many owners will delay this expense. This defect should definitely be handled as a recall !

The contact owns 2006 ford mustang. The contact stated while adding fuel to the vehicle it continued to spill out of the fuel tank on the contact and on the ground. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer regarding the failure and the dealer found a restriction blocking the fuel tank vent line. The vehicle was repaired when the dealer cleared the vent line. The contact stated the fuel spillcould have caused a fire.the failure mileage was 23,450.

When i try to put gas in my car the car will only allow me to put half of a tank in the car and i have to force it to take more which as cause the gasoline to overflow even when the tank is not full. I have taken it to a dealership and told me its a known issue but they could not fix the issue for me. This has happened in the past but now the car wont let me put more then a half tank everytime. I have tried to go to various gasoline stations all different brands to see if there are any differences but have not had any success.

Ford mustang 2006 - can not put gas in gas tank.will automatically shut off without putting gas in tank -- gas just spills onto your feet -- creating a safety hazard. Ford knows of this problem - there is a service bulletin & many complaints.ford says there is "no fix". Suggests getting gas at different gas station.i have had car to ford service 4 times -- so far spent $300 on supposed fixes.now they say there is no fix. So - i have a car, with 20,000 miles on it, that i can not drive.must stay close to home, just in case i can't get any gas into it.so far have found one gas station where i can put in gas in the car.ford is obviously not working on this problem since it has been known for many years -- the copy of ford service bulletin that i have is dated 2007 -- the service bulletin tsb 07-21-12 - states that the problem can be improved by using a different gas station.this is unacceptable.local ford dealer just shrugs their shoulders and gives me a copy of service bulletin that says there is no fix.tired of having gas slosh onto my feet and the side of the car.

I have a 2006 ford mustang and i continuously have problems putting gas into the vehicle, even when it is near empty. The gas will splash back out and not go into the tank. This has happened numerous times and just as recent as june 6, 2010. I also had an incident around march of 2010 when i tried to stop for a stop light and my car accelerated while i was literally standing on the brake. I almost hit the car in front of me and was stopped by police for hazardous driving. When i explained what had happened, i did not receive a citation but had to go across a curb and stand on the brake while pulling the emergency brake to get the car to stop. This was very frightening and dangerous to myself and the people around me.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang.while driving 40 mph, the contact heard a loud pop and the vehicle shut off without warning.the vehicle was unable to be restarted and was towed to the dealer.the dealer was unable to diagnose the cause of failure, but suggested that it could be the inertia switch.no repairs were made.four days later, the failure recurred.the vehicle was towed to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure once more.the dealer informed the contact to depress the inertia switch when the failure occurs.approximately two months later, the vehicle failed to start.the contact depressed the inertia switch, but the vehicle still would not start.the vehicle eventually started about an hour later.the dealer has not diagnosed the failure as of june 14, 2007.the current mileage is 9,800 and failure mileage was 6,500.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang.the contact is unable to put gasoline in the gas tank.the vehicle has been to the dealer three times where it currently remains.on the third trip to the dealer, the gas tank was replaced.however, it has failed again.the vin, purchase date, and engine size were unknown.the current mileage is 17,000 and failure mileage was 3,000.

Dt*: the contact stated while refueling at various gas stations, the pump shuts off or fuel spilled out onto the vehicle.the dealership determined there was a tsb that suggested a different gas station to be used to fill the tank.

Cannot easily put gas in tank. This just started occurring after having 80,000 +/- miles on vehicle.the dealer stated that this car had updated (remedy) tank installed during production, because ford knew of problem on 2005s.newer tank worked successfully for many miles.gassing up is now too frustrating to deal with.i've been a ford fan for my entire life, but this might change my mind.

My 2006 mustang has started only allowing 5-9 gallons of gas to be put in when it is warm outside.it starts spiting gas back out of the tank.i get gas all down the side of the car and all over me.this is very dangerous.we can get more gas in at night when it is cooler outside.

When fueling my 2006 mustang, i find it hard to fill the gas tank completely. I don't have a problem until it is over 1/2 tank. Dealership assures me that nothing can be done to fix this. This is a design flaw with the saddlebag portion of the fuel tank. Also, i had to put a new clutch in my car at 17,000 miles. I had the maintenance package so ford had to pick up the tab for this repair. I also have the extended warranty so i was able to get a loaner but i seem to be driving a ford focus allot since i bought my car. This will be an expensive car if i have to put a clutch in every 17,000 miles or so. I also had the right front suspension arm replaced at 19,000 miles. At this time i am having problems with the ignition starter sticking and causing a scratching noise when i start my car. This happens mainly in the morning when it's cold so i'm having a hard time convincing the dealership that the starter is bad but i will continue to have it looked at until i get results. Other smaller issues like trunk light had to be replaced, stick shift lever had to be reglued have occurred. I wanted a mustang since i was 16 years old and this has been somewhat of a disappointing new car.

Potential fire hazard.can not fuel vehicle. After approximately 1/2 tank, gas station fuel nozzle shut off. Tried slightly engaging nozzle, and continued to shut off. After multiple tries and multiple gas stations, could fill tank to 3/4 tank, then shut off recurred. Will no longer accept fuel. Fuel spillage occurred on almost all shut off incidents, no matter what pressure fuel was transferred at (by regulating handle). After research on internet, found many other owners complaining of same issue (see allfordmustang.com's 2005+ forums) with some having resolve after tank and / or filler tube /vent replacement. Tried their suggestion of placing nozzle in different directions did not help. Also reference ford service bulletin 06313 (nhtsa item number 10019387)taking to dealership tomorrow. Not the first occurrence on this vehicle. Has shut off before prematurely, but has always restarted with no spillage / recurring. Vehicle only has 1200 miles on it.

Dt*:the contact stated while putting fuel in the vehicle the fuel nozzle must be held in a certain position to obtain a correct reading from the fuel gauge.before putting fuel into the vehicle the fuel gauge read half a tank, while attempting to put fuel into the vehicle it showed full.the vehicle was taken to the dealership, they replaced the storage tank.however, this did not correct the problem.

Cannot fill fuel tank more than 1/2 full.this has been an ongoing problem since beginning of ownership.4 trips to the dealership including tank, filler neck & sender replacement has not resolved the problem.as an experienced auto technician of 27 years i inspected the design of the fuel tank and determined that the "saddlebag" design is flawed at the top and center, where that section is only about 5 mm thick and is higher than the top left and right sides, not allowing fuel to flow into the righthand side. I have an appoint with the ford dealership in ft pierce on monday, november 19th, 2007. At that time i intend to relay my opinion on this matter, however i'm not expecting a satisfactory answer from them.

2006 mustang gt built jan 2006 has problems during fueling operations.unable to get more than 1/2 to 3/4 full tank due to fuel pump cut-off.most likely cause is defective design of "saddlebag" fuel tank and inadequate tank vent.this vehicle is equipped with the "revised" fuel system which has been subject to the same problems reported with the earlier design.this problem greatly diminishes enjoyment of vehicle and decreases the value as the car has a known problem.

My 2006 mustang was just taken in to the dealer for a problem with the gas tank. I have never been able to fill the tank without difficulty.the first few months i owned the vehicle i had to force gas into my tank because it would not fill completely.the nozzle would continually shut off and not fully fill the tank.at this point the problem has changed and now the nozzle will "not" shut off and it over flows *every* time i fill up.the dealer has recommends that i try different gas stations until i find one that i don't have a problem filling the tank at.this is not a fix and it is not convenient however i have tried all the ford recommended gas stations bp, shell, amoco etc. This has not fixed the problem and the gas tank filling problem is an on going issue. Not only is this environmentally unsound but it is also dangerous and considering the cost of gas it is also expensive for me.i was told that there is no fix for my vehicle because my vehicle alreadyhas the revised design gas tank, however the problem i have still persists.

2006 ford mustang with gas filling problems**ccthe vehicle no longer allows the correct flow of gas into the tank. When the gas hose and nozzle are inserted into the tank for filling, the gas would stop at less than 10 gallons and the handle on the gas hose would no longer engage. The dealer was able to duplicate the problem, but they didn't offer a fix for it. The dealer suggested inserting the gas nozzle at a sideways or upside-down angle in order to fill the tank. The consumer stated he tried that in past, which resulted in gasoline spilling.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang.whenever the fuel tank was being filled, gasoline would spill out.the tank was not filled to capacity.the fuel nozzle stopped when the tank was half full, but gasoline still sprayed out of the tank.there were no prior warnings to this failure.the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and they stated that this was a manufacturer design defect.the manufacturer is aware of the failure and engineers are conducting an evaluation.there is currently no remedy for the malfunction.the failure mileage was 1,000 and current mileage was 25,000. Updated 11/12/08updated 11/13/08.

2006 ford mustang fuel tank spills gasoline out when tank is only quarter full. The consumer was told to try another brand of gasoline but that did not alleviate the problem.neither the dealer/manufacturer offered any other solutions to the problem.

My brand new 2006 ford mustanggas tank is difficult and impossible to fill full.i took car to dealer and they said they can not repair it.

When filing gas tank with the fuel nozzle set for fast delivery, the gas overflows onto the car.it does not trigger the automatic shutoff on the fuel nozzle.dealer indicated that this is the "new" tank design which consists of two chambers.the rightmost chamber fills first and then overflows into the second chamber.this has occurred at several different gas suppliers, different brands, and even different states.the only way to guarantee that there will not be overflow onto the car is to check the gallons used and slow down the flow so that the nozzle trigger gets tripped.dealer has no fix for the problem at this time.

Dt*: the contact stated when attempting to fill the gas tank with gasoline, andonce the tank is half full, the gas will back up through the filler neck and spill out of the spout onto the vehicle.this is intermittent in nature.the vehicle has been seen by a dealer.the dealer determined the filler neck was functioning normal.however, the service department instructed the contact to use a different gas station that offered a different type of gas pump nozzle.the dealer's service department suspected the gas pump was forcing the gasoline into the tank at a high rate which resulted inthe leak. The contact did as instructed by the dealer, but when attempting to fill the tank, the same problem occurred.

I recently purchased a 2006 mustang and on the two occasions i have had to put gas in the tank, both times prior to the pump discharge shutting off, fuel has spewed out of the filler neck and down the side of the car. I have used two different stations with the same results. I also talked to a coworker who owns a 2005 mustang and he has the same problem, and only avoids the problem by putting in a few dollars worth of gas at a time. Never filling up. I'm worried that my daughter who frequently drives the car, could be placed in a bad situation should a fire break out. Especially when it gets warmer outside.

Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle's fuel cap sensor light illuminated on an intermittent basis, when the fuel cap was secure.a replacement locking cap was purchased at an independent parts store but the sensor continued to illuminate. The service dealer and manufacturer were not contacted.

On 5/18/06 i drove from branson, mo to kansas city, mo.i stayed in kansas city till sunday only doing in town driving the four days three nights i was there. During the trip home sunday mid-day i was averaging between 65 and 70 mph on the highway.after about 45 minutes into the drive home i approached a stop light.after abouta 45 second stop at the light i went to accelerate. As i shifted into second gear the car drove normal for about 35-40 seconds, suddenly lost power then jolted forward.i encountered this sporadic jolting four times during my drive home. Twice in second gear and twice in fourth.three out of four time nearly causing an accident.this seems to be a recurring problem with these particular vehicles according to my personal research. I don't feel as though these vehicles are safe to drive under any circumstance.the ford mustang was my dream car since i was a little girl and it has turned into my worst nightmare.this vehicle has put me in life threatening situations more than 3 times already.

On 2006 mustang gt, experienced erratic fuel gauge reading once fuel level dropped below 1/2 tank.experienced failure during initial start of vehicle for the day.approx. 3/8 tank available when vehicle turned off previous night.gauge read "e" with "0 miles to empty" on digital display.

Car started to stall while in motion, applied gas and was ok.at next stop light, the car stalled out.after trying to start a few times which it did but immediately stalled out.after sitting a few minutes, it started ok and was fine.left car at dealer for 1 week, they could not find anything wrong. On 8/15/15, the wrench came ontwice and then the engine check light stayed on.this was after a 215 mille drive on the interstate. Returned to dealer who now had computer codes.electronic throttle body needed replacement.part listed on bill says potentiometer ford part#6l2z-9b989-d.this now explains subtle accelerations that occurred on highway when it was not me applying pressure to the gas pedal.

My car is surging even with the brake on or a lot of times if i'm in traffic it will completely die. Then it will start but when put in drive it continues to die. I have almost been hit several times. I have cleaned sensor and put new air filter on itu.

I was at a stop getting ready to merge with traffic when the car just died. I restarted the car but it ran real ruff i barely got off the road. I had to towe the car home it's the throttle -by-wire this system needs to be addressed before someone gets hurt.thanks lee

While driving the 5 spd, taking off from stop sign there is a dead spot then it takes off irradically. Once on the interstate, i tried to slow down and footfeed stuck so i shifted down and pumped the footfeed/pedal that wasn't stuck..the motor eventually slowed down to a manageable level. It has something wrong with the throttle pedal assembly sensor. Has others complained of this? it is a recall situation ford is willing to take care of? i am the 3rd owner. The first two complained it was hard to take off on a hill. But that can be an inexperienced driver problem is why i bought it.

When at gas station you cant fill up the gas tank without it spitting the gas back out. Not even full when this is happening.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang. The contact stated that the fuel indicator lamp illuminated and remained illuminated for two weeks. The vehicle lost motive power during acceleration. The contact had researched online and became aware of a technical service bulletin: 10019387 (fuel system gasoline), which described the failure. The contact also mentioned that the parking brake cable ceased which caused the rear brakes to drag. The vehicle was taken to miracle ford, 1394 nashville pke, gallatin, tn 37066 for repairs. The vehicle was also taken to town and country ford, 101 anderson lane madison tn, 37115 for additional repairs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 174,000.

I am a senior that owns a 2006 mustang convertible the gas tank fill has backed up on me twice causing a skin reaction dealer where i purchased car says there is nothing the matter it makes traveling very unsafe as i never know when tank will allow a fill-up ford should help with a solutioni may have to give my car up as there does not seem to be any interest in consumer complaints.

Lately when i try to fill up my 2006 mustang the gas pump either automatically stops around 1/2 tank or gas gushes down the side of my car and on the ground when trying to fill it full.definite fire hazard along with other safety issues.looked up online and this seems to be a issue with thousands of mustangs with the s197 gas tanks.lets don't let a fire at a gas pump cost someone's life before we make ford fix this issue.car is out of warranty so ford will not fix.

This is just the recent event. Happens more the half the time when fueling vehicle. While stationary, newer model mustang have a split fuel tank each holding eight gallons. One half on driver side , other half passenger side , under the back seats, the drivers side will filland the passenger side will not take any fuel. The problem occurs while trying to fill the passenger side. The fuel spills on the ground. Which not only causes a fire problem , but maybe more importantly a serious environmental problem. I found out about this problem from googling it thinkingi might be able to fix it or if i needed a new tank and or parts. What i found out was this a common problem with the split tank.fire is a deadly and painful accident to happen. The environmental impact is permanent. Maybe it is an epa problem.

After the unusually cold weather my rear brakes are not working as well as they were before. The brake pads have been replace 3 months prior. The emergency brake is now loose. Now that the temperature is warmer, the emergency brake lever is still loose and it still feels like i am only braking with my front brakes. I have not had this repair yet because i cant afford it at the moment.

Previously filed complaint odi# 10319368. Parking brake will not disengage, passenger side rear brakes and rotor had to be replaced at the tune of $200. That was 4 weeks ago and it is happening again. Google 2006 mustang defects and this seems to be a common issue due to a faulty rubber boot. I bought the car used from a ford dealer (it had 4000 miles on it and less than a year old. Most places want to charge several hundred dollars to replace. Vehicle has 31,000 miles, this is crap!

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang. The contact stated that when the temperature was below freezing, the parking brake would become stuck in position. The contact was able to get the brake to release but the vehicle would not move until the vehicle had been running idle for at least 15-20 minutes. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic and was told that water was getting on the cable for the parking brake and freezing. The mechanic stated that there was a boot that stood straight up and allowed water to enter the cable and freeze. The vehicle was repaired. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was 6,000 and the current mileage was 65,000.

The parking brake will not work thereforei can not get my vehicle inspected. It goes up and down, no cables are broken visibly, but if you pull the brake it does not stop the car. It is as though the brakes are seized. Clearly i am not the only one with this exact problem, and i almost ran over my wife when depending on the parking brake! how could ford not recall this part when they 'know" it is faulty! the rubber is eaten up on the housing, and like the hundreds of 06 owners i have been reading about ford needs to stop charging people 500+ to fix this and do the recall!!

Parking brake "freezes", brakes overheat and warp rotor.

On 3 occasions when i did not leave my car in gear even though i engaged the emergency brake on a flat surface my car rolled so the e brake does not work i always leave my car in gear now.

He contact owns a 2006 ford mustang. The contact stated the parking brake became stuck and could not be engaged or released. The mechanic inspected the vehicle and stated the cable was stuck. The mechanic notified the manufacturer regarding the part and was advised that the part was on back order because it had to be redesigned. The failure and current mileages were 60,000.

2006 ford mustang.consumer writes in regards to acceleration problems.the consumer stated on several occasions, the accelerator pedal independently engaged without contact, causing an extremely dangerous condition. Even after putting the vehicle in neutral, park or applying the parking brake, the engine continued to rev. On two occasions, it occurred at a stop sign, where the vehicle would not stop causing her to drive through the stop sign. The consumer also had a problem with the vehicle not responding when attempting to accelerate. Her daughter was driving when theincident occurred.

The parking brake cable has lost all tension and no longer works to keep back wheels from moving.this creates a safety hazard because when parked on a hill the car is only supported by the transmission. Also the car seems to roll forward excessively when put in park without the brake on. I feel as if this is a safety issue that should be investigated.

In my ford mustang and many other ford mustang thta iv come across from the 2005-2007 era the automatic transmission always seems to have a slipping problem. When u stop and try to change gears the car stutters and even take up to 4 sec to change gear even when the driver only uses the car as an everyday comute. No racing, drifting or heave presseure put on the transmission yet they still go bad and start to slip consistantly even when the car doesnt have alot of miles on it. Most of the time less than 60,000.

When at a complete stop, my foot on the brake and transmission in neutral, the engine revs up to 3500 rpm and rises from there.in order to stop it, i have to turn the ignition off.i took it to the dealer 3 different times.the first time they replaced the throttle body unit.two weeks later it happened again.ford said there is no codes in the system and they can't recreate the situation to verify.they also said that i might be touching the gas pedal and brake at the same time.the next time it happened i had a passenger verify that my feet and the floor mat was completely away from the gas pedal as the engine revved over 3500 rpm.the car operated normally for the last 4 months until this past week when it happened again.it's occurred around 20 times with 3 of them during driving where the car started to accelerate on it's own.ford has said they can't do anything until a code shows up or a part actually breaks.hopefully, i won't have an accident by that time.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph, the clutch would not shift and the vehicle began to decelerate. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis, who determined that the clutch would need to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 39,000.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang. The contact stated that when the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle hesitated. Also, the contact stated that when in reverse the vehicle would jerk. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been notified. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang. While driving various speeds, the vehicle independently shifted gears without warning. In addition, the brake pedal was depressed, but failed to respond. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 139,000. The vin was unavailable.

Before buying the car i run the car and the reverse of the standard transmission was rare and i communicate that to the sales person and he said to me that those things happen because the car is bran new then i buy the car and in about a 4 days later i talk to the sale man and he said the same thing again and then i believe in him and wait but later when i receive a recall for the airbags i went to the dealer and communicate the problem of the standard transmission and when they check that they said that my warranty doesn't cover that and that i have to pay about $900 dollars so i request a recall and help because is not fair i believe in the salesperson and now i have to carry with the bad consequences because the foreman said that, so please help me i don't have that money.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang. While driving approximately 5 mph, the vehicle shook while changing the gear shifter. The failure occurred on multiple occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 72,000. Updated 10/30/14*lj updated 4/27/2015

While my car was in park, i switch gears and the gear became extremely stiff, and my car hesitated then jump into reverse. While driving on the highway going about 30-35 my car hesitates to go above the mileage, i took my car to get the transmission checked out but they told me i had no transmission problems. But my car is continuing to do the exact same thing more frequent.

The 2006 ford mustang v6 coupe seats pose a dangerous threat not only for the way they are bolted into the car's frame and rust away but the fact the sides of the seat cloth rips away, exposing the internal stuffing. As stuffing falls out, the seat's solid structure is left, which will cause a severe back injury if in a car accident. The 2006 ford mustang v6 coupe manuel transmission synchronizer poses a problem because the second gear no longer functions, posing a severe threat in switching gears and causing an accident.the suspension continuously causes the ball joints and control arm to damage yearly.the threat of a ball joint going out can cause a tire to detach and cause a serious wreck.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang. When the contact shifted the gear into drive or reverse, the vehicle vibrated and jerked. The check transmission warning indicator was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the transmission failed. The vehicle was repaired.the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000.

Took delivery of mustang premium convertible (v6) on 1/6/2006.drove home 17 miles.while accelerating from a full stop and turning onto side street, the engine appeared to accelerate and then stopped in the middle of the turn in the middle of oncoming traffic.fortunately no accident occurred.during subsequent drives, engine appears to accelerate from a full stop but then stalls.if accelerator is pressed quickly enough, the engine does not stop; however, it may exhibit the stall a second time.dealer indicates that no information is recorded on computer indicating reason for failure.they cannot duplicate the failure.next step is to install a "black box" to record event activity during the stall.this does not occur when the engine is cold.it also is very intermittent but, if it is going to happen, it will be following a full stop. I do not feel safe in this vehicle.the failure can occur during a turn across traffic or while moving straight ahead from the stop - either of which could result in an accident.

#1:engine rpm does not stay at idle while in neutral (5-speed manual transmission) if the vehicle is moving.#2:while in gear and not pressing on accelerator, the car continues at a steady speed.the cruise control is off.

My car started jerking when i put inreverse and drive. While drive i hear a rattling noise underneath the gear shift. I took the car to the dealer and they stated the transmission had a loose solenoid box and that it needed tightening for $900. Also at lower speeds i feel thecar slipping especially on turns.

Ford mustang 2006 transmission . Car sometimes will not move when put in gear or has a hesitation then clanks in .one time it quit pulling while moving down roadway-but caught back before stopped.

2006ford mustang exhibiting hesitation upon acceleration on four different occasions while pulling out into traffic. Feels as if car has stalled then sling shots car into traffic. Each incident nearly resulting in accidents. Dealership can't duplicate problem and therefore can't make any repairs to car. No sensor errors or messages when checked, but obviously there is a malfunction with electronic &/or sensors from gas pedal to engine.

Traveling on saturday evening on2/4/06, roads somewhat slick, snow turning to black ice on road.lost control of vehicle on black ice doing 30-35 mph on residential street.car fish tailed hit curb with right rear, which spun car into roadway, hit right front on opposite curb.car under control after that.lost right rear tire / wheel assembly broke off the axle-at initial impact-however no damage to tire, rim slight dent.after accident looked at axle-seemed porous, concerned...poor quality, poor manufacturing.contacted insurance, towed vehicle to dealer.waiting for adjuster to look at vehicle.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang. While driving various speeds, the contact smelled burning rubber from underneath the vehicle, and the transmission shifted hard. The vehicle was taken to autonation ford brooksville (7200 broad st, brooksville, fl 34601) where it was diagnosed that the clutch was faulty. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failure occurred numerous times in the past. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was 77,000.

The clutch on the car began to slip at about 22,500 miles. This caused the car to accelerate slowly and presented a potentially hazardous situation. I am the sole driver on the car and have been driving stick shifts for over 20 years. There is no reason other than defect that this should have happened. It subsequently cost me over $1200 to repair the defect.

Gear shift locks and refuses to shift into reverse gear.

Driver seat belt fails to latch. If you can get it to latch unlatches while driving.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang. The contact stated that the driver side seat belt unraveled intermittently. The threads and the belt were deteriorating and could have detached at any moment. The dealer stated that the driver side seat belt needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 168,000.

Received a recall notice sometime ago and were told not available, and few months ii would check to no avail.last time i check was this fall still not available, now i'm stuck with it being checked for my safety.still waiting for recall replacement.

Driver seat electric lumbar support fails, and leads to back pain.

Numerous little failures.gas light stays on, levers on seat backs both broken, side mirrors needed replaced, both sides.when accelerating the car surges, then chokes, surges again.

On monday february 24 2014 at around 12:45pm, i was on my way home from work. I was sitting in my 2006 ford mustang gt in bumper to bumper traffic due to construction on the grand central parkway(queens ny) heading towards the van wyck expressway(east to brooklyn ny). As traffic started to move up slowly, i had pressed on the gas pedal to move forward and without hesitation the car jumps from 7 mph to full throttle. Even when i had applied the brakes ( i felt the brakes on the rotors but it didn't stop) the vehicle had stayed stuck on full throttle and had struck the vehicle in front of me. It bounced off the 1st vehicle and it was at this point i had placed both feet on the brakes, to the point where i was standing on them with my head hitting the roof of the car. The car proceeded on (still in full throttle and brakes applied) and smashed in between two other vehicles further up and after that collision thats when the car finally had came to a stop. I never heard or seen any vehicle take off on its own like that. Two days after the accident i had asked around on facebook on several mustang enthusiast/club pages and no one has heard of this happening. A week later my insurance company totaled out my vehicle and left me with no car and now i'm left to pay $3000 dollars difference on my loan and $500 to my insurance company. I also asked on ford's facebook page and i was given a number from a customer relations representative. I had called ford and they said they never heard of this and "what will i like to do with this?". A friend of mine told me about car complaints.com and i came across more than 20 complaints for the same problem. I also was told recently to check this website to file a complaint. I loved that car and that whole situation left me depressed and frustrated.

The contacts owns a 2006 ford mustang. The owner stated while driving 45 mph the vehicle stalled, and while trying to apply the brakes the vehicle wouldn't stop, and it continued to accelerate. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or mechanic for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer informed the contact that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. The failure and current mileage were 25,370.

I was going 25 mph about to make a left turn at stop sign let off gas stepped on brakes it did not slow down pushing harder i felt like it was on the rotors but did not slow down till a bmw hit my front end. I have had same issues with steering wheel wobble when brakes applied sometimes. I put new front wheel bearings and rotors and swapped wheels around it still wobbled sometimes and sometimes not. I suspect problem with traction control system

Starting at approx. 50mph i experience a shimmy in the steering wheel, most of the time.from time to time it will not shimmy when i reach the 50mph but as soon as i stop and start again the shimmy returns.i took it back to the dealer and all they did was balance the tires and did not make a difference.so i have had the car aligned, tires/rims force road balanced, new rotors, brake pads, bearings checked and still have the same shimmy.dealer will not help and i nor anyone else knows what to try next.

Dt*:the contact stated the brakes have not stopped the vehicle on three separate occasions.this occurred at no particular speed and with no warning.the dealership was unable to determine a problem.

Living in boston on december 18th i went out to my 2006 mustang gt 4.6 liter it was parked and i engaged the car to start. The parking brake was not working correctly was very loose. And it is never like that. Brakes feel stiff in back feels like a toughing,,,i was on a small embankment in neutral and car did not roll back at all. My guess it parking handle spring is off track or some spring broke ..is this a problem in cold weather..never had this happen before.

While driving at 20-25 mph going into a right hand turn the car made a loud pop.the left rear tire lost control.the rear end with power only on the good wheel was losing control and within a second the left front tire was off the wheel.the car was driven 1 city block to the closest place to pull off the road.both left front and rear wheels are destroyed from crunching on the concrete the one block of driving to get safely out of the way of traffic.once stoppedthe car could not be driven.had to call 24 hr roadside assistance to tow the vehicle.a preliminary look at a ford service garage found the front lower control arm totally separated from it's attachment point.the rear sway bar and the rear axle had been shifted out of position according to the mechanic.this car has been driven under normal conditions, averaging 33 or so miles a day on highway, and state maintained roads only.there is no reason i know of for this outside of a manufacturer defect in the assembly of the vehicle.looks like a recall of 2006 mustang gt's would be appropriate.had i been on the interstate driving at highway speeds, i may not have been alive to file this complaint.i'm outraged to say the least, but also disappointed.again, the fact that the left wheels were destroyed along with the tires while making a right hand turn has indicated to me the vehicle presents a safety hazard.the car did have factory installed traction control which i assume may have helped keep the car from crashing into a house when the rear end lost control in the turn.nevertheless it is a safety hazard that i think all mustang owners of the 2006 gt should be aware of.ford should be made aware of it also.the final assembly location is shown as flatrock michigan.i can't say i have any desire to drive a mustang ever again, even though this was the first one i have bought.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang. The contact stated that water was entering the vehicle through the dashboard on the passenger side. As a result, the water caused electrical failures. The vehicle had not been inspected by a dealer, nor had it been repaired. The manufacturer was notified and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 18,800. Updated 10/19/2011 *ln

When driving my 2006 v6 ford mustang in the rain, pints of water began pouring into the passenger side in a stream. I stopped and tried to determine the source and could not. Turns out many mustangs have this problem and ford has released a tsb but has not extended warranty coverage, so it's going to cost me an arm and a leg.but the car would be absolutely ruined without fixing it. A car you can't drive in the rain!

Water leaked into passenger floor board area. Got the sjb unit wet. Lights, door locks, radio started flickering on/off. No control over electrical items in car cabin. Seat belts seemed to tighten and loosen.

Stress fractures on forward face of rear spoiler attach struts (both mounts). Vehicle less then a month old with less then 600 miles. 2006 ford mustang gt. No apparent reason for cracks in composite spoiler. Cracks are not surface cracks (very deep) and do affect spoiler mount integrity. Fractures are located on the forward face / bottom of the struts, centered and starting at forward mount bolts and extending upward. Suspect spoiler attach nuts on studs, over torqued during factory installation. Multiple fissures extend over two inches on each strut and may result in spoiler detaching from trunk deck lid. Ford declined warranty repair, stating cracks were caused from "an outside source." from personal experience in composites, as an aircraft mechanic, suspect stress fractures from mounting error, exposed via airflow over spoiler, creating a down force and over loading strut mounts. Two separate dealer service departments agreed that failure was caused by improper mounting of spoiler and not caused by owner. Ford warranty does not agree, but does agree that spoiler must be replaced if exhibiting these cracks as this may cause injury / damage to other persons / vehicles as spoiler may detach while vehicle in motion.

Dt*: the contact stated while traveling 55 mph, the ground effects fell off the driver side of the vehicle.the dealership determined the vehicle hit something in the road, but the contact disagreed.a new component will be clipped on.

My son-in-law bought a used mustang convertible for his son. I had the car inspected and fluids changed as soon as i could and during the time on the rack, it was noticed that the frame stiffeners on both side showed severe rust to the point one was rusted completely through. The stiffener has an opening in the front that accumulates water, salt and road slop over time, but no method to let this member flush itself or be cleaned on the inside. The shop installed two new stiffeners with the same problem, but they closed the front opening entrance to the stiffener with a sealant and gave the bare metal exterior two coats of corrosion resistant paint.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang. The contact stated that there was a leak in the trunk, which was saturated with water. In addition, the front passenger side floorboard was also soaking. The contact mentioned that the leak could have been coming from the glove compartment area. The vehicle was not inspected by a dealer nor repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and they offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 37,000.

The paint on the front lip of the hood is bubbling.this will reduce its future value.

The paint on the hood on my car is bubbling and starting to chip off. There are at least five patches of this on my hood and they are very noticeable.

The paint on the front lip of the hood has been bubbling up and the dealership (kearny mesa ford, sunroad) said that the primer was not applied correctly when the car was assembled at the plant.therefore, the hood is rusting through and considered a 'cancer' to the car.

I have receive numerous "re call" letters from "ford'. I finally made time to take my car in to my local dealer ,because my recall was about my airbags. Little did i know that my local dealer was gonna break my dash to where now i cant park outside because when it rains , my car gets soaked from the broken dash. I tried taking it back and all they said was that they were gonna check it but that they didnt do anything to it.after sitting all day outside my local dealer they have the nerve to charge me $$$$ for checking it. Which by the way they said they couldnt replace my recall.now every time i receive these letters makes me believe that is a scam from my local deal( ford). Please tell me where do you have honest people (ford company ) that i can take this recall to?

My paint id bubbled on my hood and it's ugly, it was manufactured that way and i think they should fix it.

Water leakage caused a failure of the computerand wiring harness due to corrosion. Water was trapped in the door sills which was released whenever the door was opened. On the day of the failure a short had completely drained the battery. Dealer replaced the computer and harness outside of warranty and at extreme cost.dealer states that there were leaks in the cowl and bulkhead seams.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang. The contact stated was driving through a rain storm, when she noticed water seeping from the dash board. After reaching her destination, the radio would not turn off. The contact disconnected the battery as a temporary remedy. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 60,000.

My 2006 ford mustang gt had only 14,000 miles on it when i noticed while hand washing my mustang the hood had bubbles in the paint.the aluminum hood was showing signs of corrosion. My mustang is in mint condition (other than the corrosion of the hood).my mustang has less than 20k original miles, lives in the garage at home and at work. I still have the original tires on the car, and holding the mustang to be a classic; without a corroded hood!i contacted ford motor company and told them my story.they (customer services) told me they had no complaints and no knowledge of this issue and could not help me, since my mustang was way under the miles limit, but over the years. I asked for corporate and was denied the contact information.i did some research and later found out that ford motor company out and out bold faced lied. They at that time were being sued, "march 15, 2013 nytimes - judge allows suit over aluminum corrosion in fords to move forward."google, "ford mustang hood bubble or corrosion" you pull up many complaints. Google, "lawsuit against ford mustang hood", you pull up many complaints.89 ford mustang complaints: http://www.autosafety.org/viewcomplaints/64/71/all/all/1.on december 27, 2004 ford issued a technical service bulletin.issue: some vehicles may exhibit a bubbling or blistering under the paint on aluminum body parts. This is due to iron contamination of the aluminum panel.background: ford's scientific research laboratory has performed a number of tests on vehicle body parts returned for corrosion related concerns. Testing has revealed that the aluminum corrosion was caused by iron particles working their way into the aluminum body part, prior to it being painted.ford still denies this!attention ford corporate or customer service do the right thing here and replace these hoods!

Paint is bubbling and chipping on top of hood and underneath from poor design. Water has no place to go resulting in corrosion to paint.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang. The contact stated that the hood and latch were corroded. The contact mentioned that the rust has spread to the edges around the hood and towards the back near the windshield. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

Front hood bubbling from contaminated welds at factory. This problem seems to be very common and devalues the car considerably.

2006 ford mustang is leaking excessive amounts of water onto front floor board area, beneath dash.water is saturating electrical components, including fuse boxes and other electrical components, causing what i believe to be a serious hazard.an internet search of "mustang leak" will produce multiple hits of many other owners experiencing the identical problem.ford has released tsb 08-26-7 detailing the problem for model years 2005 - 2009.considering so many year models involved, this is obviously a design flaw in the manufacturing of the vehicle.ford has yet to recall this issue and according to the local dealer, ford does not consider this problem related to safety, which explains the lack of recall.excessive amounts of water pouring onto the interior electrical components should be investigated as a possible safety concern.there were no events leading up to this incident.it began 5 months after the expiration of the bumper to bumper warranty.currently, vehicle is scheduled to be repaired at a local body shop for an undetermined cost at this time.again, there were no events, crash or any other type of damage to the vehicle which could have caused this problem.thank you.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang. While the vehicle was stationary, water leaked into the vehicle from the passenger side and traveled to the back seat area. The contact stated that all of the windows were rolled up when the failure occurred. The contact stated that the water may have entered into the cabin from the seam where the hood met the front windshield.willard's service center (4311 main street, grasonville, maryland 21638, (410) 827-7222) was made aware of the failure and replaced the heater coil on the front passenger side underneath the dashboard, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

Driving 40mph kn the right lane of a 4 lane highway with a cement median separating the east and westbound lanes. I hit some black ice, spun 90 degrees across the left lane and hit the median almost head on. Airbag did not deploy.

Bought car new in 06, hood oxidation causes paint to flake off hoods. Notified dealer in 08 and was told it's not a warranty issue they wanted me to pay for it. Since learned it was a common problem due to improper treatment of aluminum before painting.

After vehicle spent nearly two months in the shop due to ball joint assembly failure the car was put back into my possession.i drove the car from the dealer that it was purchased from to home, approximately 300 miles.i noticed a rubbing noise still coming from the front end of the vehicle.after 1 day of the car being in my possession i heard a rattling sound coming from the rear end of the car.mostly going over small bumps at low speeds. Needless to say i have had the vehicle for 5 months and i have spent more time driving my 2001 escort than i have my 2006 gt.sad but true the escort nearly $20,000 less than the gt is safer and more reliable than my brand new off the line vehicle has been.

Front end suspension is falling a part and it is rarely driven.it is driven to work and on weekends.

While driving the pan hard bar broke causing the vehicle to wobble back and forth uncontrollably. I was making a right hand turn at a light i was previously stopped at. I heard a noise as if i had ran over something and after completing the turn my car sounded as if it had a flat. I pulled over and inspected the tire and saw nothing. Attempting to drive over 10mph resulted in intense wobbling and unable to control vehicle. If at a high rate of speed this could have resulted in a crash. Researched online and multiple others had same incident with unknown reasons the bar breaks causing loss of control.this bar holds between rear wheels so vehicle will stay straight. I am just thankful i was at a slow speed and not driving on a freeway or higher rate of speed that could have resulted in losing my life or someone else's not having control of back portion of my vehicle. Even having it towed the tow operator said it wasn't even stable on back of his truck.

I havea 2006 ford mustang and i have a rattle in the front end and not sure if just sounds like rear also ,, not sure what or why but it does the noise even if you just go over any small bump , i cant find what it is , doyou or have you had this happen on these cars ? please let me know if any thing to fix it , sounds like its falling apart.thank you

Ford mustang in 2006 noticed days later heat coming up from the floor of the car. It was extreme & i took to dealer several times in the first 3 months, but ford didn't think anything was wrong. I don't take the car out on long trips as the car heats up too much in the interior and the floor by my feet gets too hot for comfort.i have about 25k miles on the car as i will only take it on short local routes.two years ago the fuel tank stopped working right. I believe it is the vapor lock system. I had an electrical problem with the vehicle within 1 month of owning the car.i replaced about 4 batteries within 6 months & contacted the dealer at least 6 times. They thought to replace the stereo, but even after that was replaced i still had the issue. I was stranded several times by a dead battery.the dealer & corp said there was not an issue - that i just wasn't driving the car enough & suggested i get a charger.after a new battery, i'd driver the car every day, but within a week our two, i'd have a dead battery again.i asked corp how many miles must i be required to drive in order for my car to work & the representative said she didn't know, but she knew it had to be more than what i was driving. After about 5 years, i found a fuse "fix" for this issue (thanks to a aaa service person who was replacing another battery) & now i am able to drive my car, but i still don't trust i won't be stranded again.i still can't take it more than 20 miles without the heat issue being a problem and filling the tank is an issue due to what i think is a vapor lock problem likely caused by the heat issue.i sought help from my ford dealer & corp, but i haven't had any of these issues taken seriously.today, after hearing about the recall on the heat issue, i called up dealer & corp & they both said there was nothing to be done as my vehicleis not part of the recall.

Was driving on the freeway on my gay home and when i exit the thermostat housing started leaking antifreeze and my tires got damped with the antifreeze and then when i was driving one the painted road my car fishtailed and lost control of the car until it came to a complete stop i was able to take control and turned back on the road when i got to the next stop light it started to release steam from under the hood. Good thing i was a saturday afternoon and i did not hit nor got hit by any drivers. I have a dash cam that captured the event as it happened. The video is too big to upload.

The purpose of this complaint is to report a vandalism incident.the vehicle is a 2006 ford mustang. The resident is at [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I have noticed that my car 2006 ford mustang convertible has been getting water coming inside from the passenger seat under the dashboard and it messes up the entire floor and cause a mildew smell. The back seats have water coming inside from either the side panels on the car on the convertible or the window at the back of the car or top of the convertible. I have researched this and many people have this issue with ford convertibles and also other make a models of cars as well that are convertibles. I think this is a defect with how the ford manufacturer built these mustang convertibles and should be recalled to repair this problem. It causes the floors to be wet constantly with mildew smell and this could be dangerous with mold issues on floor and seats of vehicle and mold collection on windows and other part of vehicle and dangerous to health. I have only had my car since 2005 i bought a 2006 convertible and it immediately started having issues.

I had to replace a defective throttle body due to repeated warning lights and "limp-home" mode events.

Numerous little failures.gas light stays on, levers on seat backs both broken, side mirrors needed replaced, both sides.when accelerating the car surges, then chokes, surges again.

I own a 2006 mustang gt which currently has 64,000 miles. The gas pedal/throttle response symptoms i'm experiencing are;a significant lag occurs upon pressing down upon the pedal, when pressing down the gas pedal moves about 1 inch and then the electronic fuel system reacts and the car then jumps/accelerates much to rapidly to a significantly higher rpm than any initial start-from-stop reaction should be. Even more concerning are the hundreds of on-line forum reports referencing run-away mustang throttle pedals sticking while at speed or accelerating with totalloss of control of the mustang's systems until vehicles are actually turned off.these conditions i believe represent true safety issues with the design of ford mustangs from 2006 on where the electronic pedal system was utilized.

The gas pedal on my 2006 ford mustang got stuck as i was pulling into a parking lot, causing me to hit 2 other parked cars. I applied the brakes but the car kept going forward and then suddenly stopped. This caused the wind to get knocked out of me. The damage to my vehicle consisted of the driver side fender, turn signal, headlamp, bumper and hood. Damage to the other vehicles was to their respective rear bumpers. I had the car towed to the dealer where i purchased it to have them look at the problem and was told that nothing was found and that i'd be responsible for the charges!

I had to replace a defective throttle body due to repeated warning lights and "limp-home" mode events.

Three times in the past two years, with vehicle at a complete stop and with foot firmly on brake pedal, the engine accelerated rapidly to full throttle. Managed to keep vehicle under control and avoided other vehicles, but it is both scary and dangerous.on june 5, took to purchasing dealership (state college ford, pa), but their service department could find nothing wrong.service manager told us it was impossible for this to happen as there is a triple-check system to keep this from happening. He also told me that it was happening because i had my foot on the brake and the gas pedals at the same time.i have been driving for over 45 years, currently have four vehicles, and drove professionally for 25 years.i've never had this problem with any other vehicle.asked the service manager if there was anything else they could do, they told me no.they took it for a couple test drives and it didn't happen. Please advise.we really like this car and don't want to get rid of it, but in its current condition it is not safe.

Applying quickacceleration in order to pass other vehicles causes the throttle to stick in my car.i have apply hard braking and turn the ignition key off to gain control of my car.

March 2010, just driving down the road and came to a stop sign, car died.everything seemed fine until recently, july 2010, when the car stalled about 5-6 times while i was trying to cross the road in traffic.i had 2 people nearly run into me before i could actually get it pulled over to the side.then, it wouldn't start back up with me.i had to let it set for a few mins, tried again and it finally started back up.had it diagnosed at the ford dealership, and there is a throttle body issue, needs to be replaced.there is no rhyme or reason to when this happens.i have not had it replaced bec i am on unemployment and do not have the money right now.i need my car for interviews and a job when i finally find one.:(

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 mph, the engine stalled as the electronic throttle control warning lamp illuminated. The vehicle restarted on the first attempt and resumed normally. The failure recurred on seven separate occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the failure was unable to be diagnosed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage was 76,000.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang.the contact was parking the vehicle with one foot on the clutch and the other on the brake pedal.the tires began to screech and the vehicle unexpectedly surged forward and struck the vehicle in front of it.the contact noticed that the gear was in neutral and the brake and clutch pedals were still depressed.she was certain that she did not depress the accelerator pedal.the air bag deployed and both vehicles were towed.the dealer was unable to determine the cause of failure.the contact was injured and a police report was filed.the speed was unknown.the current and failure mileages were 15,000.to date the dealer has not determined the cause. My daughter's 2006 ford mustang accelerator stuck this afternoon and almost caused her to hit a vehicle in front of her.while starting to pass another vehicle on a two lane highway she noticed oncoming traffic and was attempting to end the passing maneuver when the engine accelerator "stuck" wide open.the pedal itself had complete freedom of movement and no matter what she tried to do to get it "unstuck" the accelerator remained at full throttle.full brakes were unable to slow the cars speed.the throttle finally released after about 10-15 seconds of full acceleration and she was able to stop the car before hitting any other vehicle on the highway.i have call a local ford dealership, nevada ford at (417)667-3385 or (800)999-3368 and asked the service manager about any safety recalls or information on this type of problem.he told me that he had not heard of any complaints on this issue from ford.i just did a quick search on line and found several complaints about sticking accelerators on ford mustangs.she bought this car used from miler-quinn in harrisionville missouri about february or march of this year and has not had any problems with it until this.now i believe there may have been an issue with the original owner due to the low price my daughter was able to purchase the car for, $10,500.it booked for $14,500 at the time of purchase from a dealership.please contact either myself or my daughter on this issue.

My wife was pulling into a parking space--i was in the car as well.about half way into the parking spot, the engine suddenly began reving and the car jumped forward causing a head on collision with the truck in front of us.

Was driving into a convenience store parking lot, car suddenly started to accelerate , immediately tried to apply the brakes, did no good, slammed the car into park. (rpm's were really racing high) very scary. Was only 10-15 feet from going through the store!!!!! we have now experienced sudden acceleration on 3 separate occasions going back 5 years. We are the original owners of the car and have not received any recall notices. Help!

Driving my 2006 automatic transmission mustang scs on the freeway and accelerated to pass a car when the throttle went to the floor and became stuck. I had intended to accelerate from about 65 to 70. I tried to brake and this prevented me from speeding up past 85but did not stop the car or even slow it down. The throttle was completely stuck. This lasted for about 12 - 15 seconds and then released on its own. Floor mats were not in the way at all; the first thing i checked. Plus, i'd been driving perfectly fine up to that point and did not in any way shirt the mats around while driving. There are a lot of posts about this if you google "2006 mustang accelerator stuck". I hope that ford will finally be accountable.

Some years prior to this incident, the cruise control would cause pulling of the car. What i mean by this is that the vehicle would pull forward as if someone were towing it from the front. This would take place after the cruise control had been used minutes or hours prior to the vehicle being shut off. Once the car was turned on again, even an hour later, would cause the car to maintain its speed (usually 10 mph or 15 mph) until the brake was pressed even though the cruise control wasn't activated. This was supposedly "fixed" by ford through a $600 "repair" of the "computer" that controls the throttle (i have documentation to support this repair). I was unaware of this site. So now i am reporting the following terrifying incident. This 2006 ford mustang, about 2 years prior, had its cruise control on when all of a sudden the vehicle accelerated from 40 or 50 mph to 60 to 70 mph. The brake slowed the car but the revving was out of control. Luckily i was on an open highway around 10pm but had to drive into a gas station (luckily nothing happened) and slammed on the brakes as the engine revved hitting the upper rpms. I had to shut off the car with the ignition (leaving it in the park gear and pressing the brake, mind you!) and when turned on the car again (now in park), the car again, dangerously revved. I thought the engine was going to blow out. I shut off the car again, parked still at the entrance of this gas station. I waited some minutes and turned the car on again, sweating profusely as you can imagine, and the car was completely normal. I was convinced this had to do with the cruise control. I had aaa tow the car home and the next day i took it to ford who claimed they had never heard of such a thing. They checked the computer again and gave it an "update". I never used the cruise control again as you can imagine and no problems with the rpms or acceleration.

Dt*:the contact stated while exiting the interstate, after decelerating, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle lost power.the vehicle hesitated then suddenly surged forward.this occurred on three occasions, the dealership was unable to determine a problem.updated 5/2/2006 - each time this problem occurred the vehicle had been driving at highway speed for over 2 hours.

This has happened before about a year ago. The car accelerates on its own. I can take my foot off the gas and it goes by itself--no cruise is not broken or on --that was test. Rpm then jump up to about 4000. This is a serious safety issue ford needs to take care of before someone gets killed.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang. While driving approximately 55 mph, the throttle became stuck and the vehicle increased acceleration abnormally. The vehicle began to traveluncontrollably through three traffic signals. The emergency brake was engaged and the contact then crashed into a tree. The contact and a passenger were able to exit the vehicle but were both severely injured. The vehicle then ignited into flames. The fire department extinguished the fire and informed the contact that the fire originated from the engine compartment. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to a salvage facility. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 36,900.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang. While driving less than 5 mph on a gravel road surface, the contact attempted to park the vehicle. The brakes were engaged, and the engine revved excessively high with an unintended acceleration causing the tires to spin. The vehicle would not slow down and the gear selector was shifted into "park". The acceleration failure continued. The vehicle came to a complete stop when the engine was turned off. The contact waited a few moments and resumed operation. During the travel the speed rate increased to 100 mph unexpectedly. The vehicle slowed down after repeated application to the brakes. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis where no trouble codes were detected. The technician was unable to duplicate the problem. The contact had significant concern pertaining to the safety defect and feared driving the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 51,000.

Dt*:the contact stated while accelerating from an stopped position, the vehicle accelerated from 50-90 mph on its own.both feet were applied to the brake pedal and the acceleration stopped.the vehicle was taken to the dealership where the problem could not be duplicated.this happened a second time and the dealership was still unable to duplicate the problem.

While accelerating/pressing gas pedal from a full stop after driving approximately 25+ minutes, vehicle has hesitated and then surged forward as if it lost power or gas but never completely stalled.since purchasing the vehicle in july 2006, this problem has occurred 15+ times as i began documenting it.dealer has been unable to duplicate the problem, nor has anything shown up on the car?s computer.next question is if they place a "black box" on the vehicle.

All i was doing was cleaning out my car and then got in then all of a sudden the rear window shattered. It sounded like a gun shot but i thought it was my tire. I inspected my tires then saw my windshield. I investigated the windshield and saw no holes or anything at all. The temperature was the same as alwaysand the windows were down.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang. While driving approximately 55 mph, the windshield wipers, headlights and heater would not operate when activated. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who stated an accumulation of water leaked onto the passenger floor through the windshield lower seam. The water leakage resulted to a shortage in the smart junction box which contributed to the malfunction. The technician resealed the windshield area. The problem recurred and had not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 13,704.

2005/06/07 rear window glass distortion and front windshield left & right bottom corner distortion claimed by ford field service engineer, paul berardi to be within ford design spec's. Sitting in the drivers seat looking out left or right front windshield attention is drawn to the "waving" white lines on highway causing distraction of attention. The most serious distraction occurs at night with approaching/following headlights reflected through the rear window distortion into the rear view mirror "flashing". How many accidents have these cars been involved in at night? how many of the drivers reportedseeing "flashing" headlights in their rear view mirror? how many insurance companies or police reports recorded such a claim?

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang.when the driver side door was shut, the rear glass shattered.the dealer stated that an object must have struck the window.the contact was confident that nothing struck the window and there were no prior damages or scratches.the current and failure mileages were 20,000.

Numerous little failures.gas light stays on, levers on seat backs both broken, side mirrors needed replaced, both sides.when accelerating the car surges, then chokes, surges again.

Was driving down the road at 70 mph on tires that have less than 12,000 miles on them when i had one of the tires blow out on me. I have never had this problem on my car before. I'm glad i was able to sadly bring the car to a stop and didn't cause anymore damage than a bust tire
