Has a very rough idle and when a /c is on the car has absolutely no power, also burns gas very quick. Exterior head lights lights are dim and i just installednew one yet still dim

Main distributor box just behind battery, next to window washer fld container, has a bundle of wires coming to it and attached by a connector.the connector was never fully tightened in the factory according to a "master mechanic" at the ford dealership i bought the car from.after several loose connections, the car dieing without warning and no resolution to the problem i threatened to get an attorney.the master mechanic had no explanation why the other mechanics didn't resolve the problem.he stated to the foreman in my presence, "every car coming off the lot from ford has to have the connector tightened before we let it off the lot (as sold).if i wasn't such a good driver, i could have been killed on any one of the total power failures.

While traveling at approximately 45mph and decreasing speed, the engine and all power steering and power brakes ceased at about 40mph while braking. This has happened twice. First time was sometime in september of last year (2001).

When drivingin a low gear engine stalls.ignition has to be restarted in order to start engine back up. Dealer has seen vehicle twice, and can't duplicate the problem.

Twice now, when attempting to start the car, it does not want to start. It makes the cranking sound, but will not turn over.the first time, i tried 3 times and on the fourth try, it finally turned over.the second time, it finally turned over on the fifth try.i took it to the ford dealership after each problem. The first time, they could not figure out what the problem was, but they replaced the idling switch/valve. Six days later, it happened again. Took back to ford the next day. They said they could not duplicate the problem. Was asked if i could leave it for 2 to 3 days, which i could not at the time.do not know what the problem is, but am getting frustrated with it. Afraid that it will eventually not start for me, stranding me.

A coil pack has failed four times in the last 3 months. When it starts going bad the car lurches (looses and regains power multiple times) when you are accellerating, and stalls when you decellerate. Both issues are safty issues as the loss of power when accellerating could cause a drivers timing to be bad (for instance when leaving a side street into on coming traffic), and the stalling cuts all of the power equipment. I have asked ford to replace all of the coil packs now, instead of continuing to leave me in dangerous cituations, and they have not done so to date. As ford doesn't pay for rental cars it is also getting real expensive for me to replace each coil pack when it goes out.the dealers service agent told me that this is a prevelent issue with ford.

2001 ford mustang spark plug blew out.*njthe spark plug blew out of the number 3 cylinder.

Vehicle was pulled into garage.in a matter of several minutes vehicle started smoking, more and more until fire acually ignited.fire inspector said main wire fromconnector box was the cause.please describe details.

1-drivers foot contacts fuse box when engaging/disengaging clutch pedal (fuse box too close to clutch travel zone). Impacts driver control of vehicle.

The contact owns a 2001 ford mustang. While driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was able to a restart a few minutes later. The failure recurred seven times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the throttle body needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 64,000.

There is a rattling, banging noise coming from under the hood.it only did it at first when i was slowing down with and without the brakes.it sounds as though the car is falling apart.i took it to ford and they told me they heard the noise but it was nothing mechanical and they didn't know what it was coming from.they told me they checked all of the parts under warranty and it wasn't that.they told me that if i wanted them to continue to look for the problem, they would have to charge me by the hour.thecar started making the noise about 6 months ago.it will go away for a few days and then come back worse.now it does it when the car is stopped also.no one can find the problem.

2001 ford mustang spark plug blew out.*njthe spark plug blew out of the number 3 cylinder.

The main problem is the transmission failures. It has gone out three times all in the same manner. The car in bone stock and only has 13,800 miles on it. The third time a field district engineer supposedly examined it and said the the parts and workmanship appear to be fine with no flaws and declined my warranty claim. I have been through the dispute settlement board and the ks attorney general with no positive outcome. I don't understand this action especially since i work for ford(kansas city assembly plant)i have researched this problem and found out that there weere problems with the '01 transmissions as per the technical service bulletins, tsb# 14879 nhtsa# sb620176, so it appears that dearborn assembly and ford know of this problem but yet i'm still getting resistance????????????

4.6 liter v8.spark plug blew out of cylinder head.could have resulted in a fire but luckily did not.spark plugswere last changed over 30,000 miles previously.

The contact owns a 2001 ford mustang. While driving approximately 25 mph, the contact noticed smoke coming from under the hood. The contact stopped the vehicle and noticed a hose was detached from the engine of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostics. The technician stated that the bypass hose would have to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failure recurred while the vehicle was still at the dealer. The technician then stated that the manifold was fractured and the head gasket would have to be replaced. The manifold was replaced but not the head gasket.the vehicle was not further repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 53,000.updated 12/06/11*lj the consumer stated the repair technician was injured while repairing the cracke manifold intake. Updated 06/13/2012

Vehicle stalled while driving at a moderate speed.the vehicle then came to an abrupt halt.dealer was contacted, but could not duplicate the stalling problem.

I started my car and put it in drive and began to accelerate when the engine raced to 6000 rpms. Put my foot on the brake and the car kept accelerating. I pulled my parking brake and got the same result. I then put my car in park and at that time i was doing about 60 in a neighborhood heading straight for a light pole. I just barely missed the pole but still hit the curb and totaled my car. After turning the key the engine stopped. A mechanic at the collision center looked at my engine and saw that my throttle was stuck wide open. The car is still sitting at the collision center waiting for a ford representative to come and look at it.

After having a strong vibration in the dash at higher rates of speed 60+, and then developing heavy engine knock with rough idling, i took vehicle to the dealership.there i learned that i had 3 bad rods and needed a complete new engine after only having 57,000 on the original one.

While traveling at approximately 45mph and decreasing speed, the engine and all power steering and power brakes ceased at about 40mph while braking. This has happened twice. First time was sometime in september of last year (2001).

A ticking, rattling noise in the motor which begins at 3,000 rpms and stops when car shifts into 2nd gear.when in 2nd gear, the ticking will begin at 3,000 rpms.it started doing this when the weather dropped below 55 degrees.it will do it in the morning for about 5 mins.once car warms up, ticking noise vanishes.it is very loud.i was reading articles on bullittclub.com and many 2001 mustang owners are reporting the exact same problem.a man had his car in the dealership for over a month.his car still ticks when cold and he was told that he was placed on the list of ford's "unfixables"i have not taken my car to the dealer because i am waiting to see what the fix is.i didnt hear this noise when the vehicle was driven off the lot in january.this is the same for everyone else who is having this problem.bullitclub.com and click on mechanical issues, then click on "very scary sound"....it is almost 10 pages long of people who have this problem.this noise cannot be normal and i want ford to do something about it, other than put you on the "unfixables" list.

Engine stall on deceleration.

No summary listed for above vehicle.

When decel & downshifting, the engine has died on me 3 times. Dealer cannot duplicate problem, no error msg. When engine dies, loss of power steering and all control of vehicle. Should not stall at 50+ miles an hour and only 7k miles on the engine. I have heard of numerous people with this same problem on 99 and up mustang gt's. My engine was also leaking oil from the engine intake valve, so ford has decided to give me an entirely new enine. However, it is yet to be seen if this will fix the stall problem. This is very scary, considering it happened to me in the rain the last time. I could have easily slid into another car if one had been near me. Please do not let this problem go unnoticed. Thank you.

Consumer states the vehicle engine would stalls intermittently while driving at any speed, vehicle has been to the dealer on three occasions and they are unable to locate the problem.nlmconsumer states steering wheel locks when engine shuts down at high or low speed. Vehicle vibrates at speed over 65 mph. Wiper make a loud noise at high speeds. Convertible top had rust on portion that connects with front windshield. Vehicle had brake pulsation.

Consumer noticed both front tires were severely worn at 6616 miles. Vehicle taken to service dept and had both front tie rod ends replaced because they were loose.during a routine oil change, it was discovered that the tie rods were completely loose.there were new tires installed on the front of the vehicle as the others were completely worn.also, the header in the motor failed.*jg

My v6 mustang stalls while in motion causing the steering and brakes to freeze.this is a potentially deadly problem.it has happened four times; once at 30 mph, 60 mph, 45 mph, and 40 mph.the car only has 4500 miles on it.i also have a problem with a heater display light going out.dealership can't identify the cause of either of these problems.it's been in the shop four times for the stallling and they've been able to determine nothing.i have anxiety while driving the vehicle as it stalls out at any time with no warning whatsoever.very, very scary.

Vehicle in cold weather will shut down at any timeproblem is worse in cold weather. Contacted dealer, and the dealer noted that they could not find the problem.consumer stated that the vehicle stalled twice at red light, replaced baro, maf and reset kam but the problem is still there.*yd

Car was being driven in the rain and accelerating to merge with traffic when the belt that drives the power brake and steering assist came off and caused a complete loss of power assist to both the steering and brakes.

2001 v6 ford mustang suddenly started to miss-fire.i have been smelling exhaust odors for some time, but could not find anything wrong.i took it to the dealer as soon as it started to miss-fire.they diagnosed the problem as a sensor with moisture in it and both exhaust manifolds were cracked.it's no wonder i was smelling exhaust fumes.i was lucky not to be overcome with carbon monoxide while driving.there was no apparent reason for the exhaust manifold failure.the dealers rep said: " we have replaced quite a few of them and the new ones are better".

On feb. 24th, 2001, i purchased the vehicle with only 21 miles showing on the odometer. I took the vehicle home and the next day, i cranked the auto and the service engine check light was illuminated. The day was sunday and the dealership, nor the service department, were open. I waited until monday morning to drive the car, and then went straight to the service department. They did a diagnostic and said the catalytic sensor was acting up and they would turn the light off and that should fix it. However, if the light came on again, i was to bring the car back. I had to bring the vehicle back a total of three times, due to the service engine soon light. I was told after the second replacement of a sensor in the catalytic convertor, that the vehicle had been given bad gas before i had purchased it, causing them, the service repairmen, to have to completely take apart the fuel system and clean it from engine to exhaust. The problem was not fixed until after they completely replaced the catalytic convertor. Information was withheld concerning repair to the vehicle before i purchased it. The replacement was finally completed by april 15th, 2001. My next problem occured on july 13th, 2001. I was returning from a trip to colorado with my father, when as we were traveling, i heard a loud pop and then felt water hit my foot. I had been riding on the passenger's side at the time. When i noticed the water, i looked toward the floorboard and also found that the dashboard had shifted to the left and fallen from the window. We arrived at home later that day and i immediately took the car to the dealership. I was told that they would have to bring it in and do a complete once over to see what had caused the leaking. I took it in on july 17th. I was told they had found nothing wrong with the dash or could not find a leak. I have taken it back a total of 6 times thus far for the same problem and three for the front end.

2001 mustang 3.8 v6 (54,000 miles) was leaking exhaust from the passenger side of engine under hood causing exhaust fumes to come in car.the exhaust manifold (cracked) and egr tube (hole burned through) had to be replaced.

In first complaint regarding suspension arm bolts was told thisstuff happens, in regards to the water leakage in exhaust, was told that is normal. I feel it isn't normal when it is pouring down my driveway. They didn't fix the problem. Had tires rotated then got a flat tire and they cross threaded the lug nuts and the bolt had to be broken off to repair the flat tire.

The headlamp lenses are fogged over from the inside.the headlamp appears to have a flaky film on the inside of the lens.the problem has progressively gotten worse as time passed.i have talked with multiple dealers and the manufacturer and nothing was done.the response remains the same, "it just happens."the film has become so thick that it is impairing the light coming from the headlamp at night.

Headlights fogging up from inside, have been getting worse very quickly and it is now getting so bad i may have to get new lights as they are making it dimmer.

I recently purchased a 2001 ford mustang. I recently noticed that the gas tank is located behind the rear axle and is actually attached to the rear bumper. After doing some research on the internet, i have found out that this is a very serious problem in the ford mustangs that can result in the vehicle catching on fire and exploding in the event of a rear-impact collision. I am very concerned now for my personal safety and the safety of my family. This is obviously a defective design in the ford mustangs that needs appropriate attention and a new design.i have almost stopped driving alltogether because of this very serious defect. I do not want to be killed in an accident when my mustang catches on fire and explodes because of the location of the fuel tank.please investigate this serious safety/design flaw in the ford mustangs and contact me with your information. I have never been so scared to drive a vehicle in my life.

Filler tube fuel tank seal failure causing gas leak.

2001 ford mustang v6,34000 mi. Fuel leaking from tank at filler tube joint. Have car at dealers service dept. Now , and have not corresponded about corrective action.

Several occasions stopped at light, car suddenly surges forward, was able to apply brake and stop car.

Fuel filler line has a plastic cover that traps dirt against the metal filler hose.this resulted in the metal filler hose rusting causing a hole in the line.when filling up with fuel the vehicle leaks fuel through this hole.when tank is full fuel leaks through this hole while driving.

1. There is a dreadful gas fume odor inside the car every time i put fuel in the carespecially when i fill the tank. 2.the emergency brake does not work properly. When engaged my car still rolls a little.3. The seat belts do not retract properly and tend to twist and tangle when i try to do it manually.

Idles too fast

I smelled strong gasoline odors while driving from work. The car had been filled with fuel recently. The fuel tank is leaking near the fill tube. Further research into this issue has shown that it is a common occurrence with this model. The car cannot be filled above half full or gasoline leaks all over the back of the car and on the ground once parked. This leak is too near the exhaust pipe for safety. Ford does not repair this safety issue under any recall. It is a cheap part but labor is very expensive since the fuel tank must be removed to replace the leak. This is a manufacturing issue and ford should be required to repair it free of charge.

Plastic cover on elbow holds water/dust which doesn't drain leaving filler arm constantly damp rusting through pipe leaking gas all over when filling tank....bad design and thought put into this. Item should be recalled, cost to replace at any repair shop is upward of $800.00 canadian.

The contact owns a 2001 ford mustang. While the contact's daughter was placing fuel in the vehicle, she noticed fuel leaking from the fuel tank without warning. The contact managed to drive the vehicle home. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure recurred. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 189,000.

When filling up i noticed gas leaking from my gas filler neck it is very badly rusted.

Fuel filler neck pipe rusted through and there was a pile of gas under my car and fumes of gas even after driving home.

My gas filler tube has rusted due to the plastic shield, dirt and moisture has been trapped on this part of my 01 mustang and now there is a huge hole on the filler tube. I've done my research on a couple forums and apparently i'm not the only one with this same issue on models from 2000-2004 i'm pretty sure we all know how serious this problem is seeing that fuel is leaking to the ground which is a fire hazard and can result in a fatality.

Consumer stated while vehicle was parked up hill with parking brake engaged without any indication vehicle roll down hill. Dealer was contacted. Please provide further information. Ts

Do not buy a ford!!!!!

The manual transmission is extremely difficult to shift from first to second gear when cold.this is a safety issue because i need to make a left turn onto a busy street when the car is cold.the difficulty in shifting has left me vulnerable as i can't accelerate as i intend and i am in danger of colliding with oncoming traffic that expects me to accelerate at a reasonable rate.

The vehicle jumped out of gear while driving.

Where it shows how many miles it's digital and it constantly goes off. Smells of gasoline and like something is burning every timedrive it. Has a very rough idle and when a /c is on the car has absolutely no power, also burns gas very quick. Exterior head lights lights are dim and i just installednew one yet still dim

The vehicle has a surge/hesitation in overdrive between 1200 and 1600 rpm's and also in third gear at about 2000 rpm's. Dealer says they cannot find anything wrong but do acknowledge there is a problem. Dealership admits that ford service reps are aware of other cars with same symptoms.

This vehicle is a lemon. Ford knows the transmissions are bad,but won't do anything.

When driving there is a vibration when the car shifts into a higher gear. It does not shift smoothly from first to second gear, there is a grinding vibration. The dealer's technician said " they all do it, they don't make them like they use to".

This is the 2nd mustang 5spd transmission i have purchased through the dealership and ford that has the same problem. Concerns of vibration felt through the seats, floor, and steering wheel while traveling at highway speeds! being the 2nd vehicle, i have been battleing the dealership for a whole year and have just now been given the opportnity to meet with a ford rep.the poblem has been overseen by a ford tech. Twice with a replacement of driveshaft twice which still hasn't resolved the problem.i have testimony from othr service reps with other dealerships that state they feel there is a problem with the car and it is not the tires!(vibration that is) also mangr. And techs.at a goodyear tire shop.the dealership"s shop foreman felt the abnormal vibration on a testdrive with me and felt it was out of the ordinary, however, his service mangr. Later went on test drive and stated that he felt there was no problem.also the ford rep. Testdrove the car and stated he felt no problem either!. The car has been repaired in the past year over 9 times for the vibration! so there was a precedent already set before the ford rep. Got involved. My concern is that i still have a vehicle that has anabnormal vibration while traveling between 65-75mph on highway, it has been documented by me, the dealership, and ford. The vibration keeps coming back and i havebeen told by reputable sources that it could be a safety issue due to the amount of abnormal wear that can happen to my tires from this abnormal vibration i told this to ford, many months ago, so they switched my tires, including the brand(from goodyear to michellins)when the ford rep. Was asked the question by me how is it that th dealer's shop foreman felt the abnormal vibration and he didn't, his response was that it all ended with him no matter who found what!!!this probably seems very convoluded but i am just expressing my concerns with regards to my safety ,as well as the safety of my fellow consumers. Under light to moderate aceleration a shudder or bucking is felt in 3rd gear speed is between 30 and 45 mph . The dealer replacedegr. And mass airflowand the automatic transmission problem still is present.

Vehicle was involved in a frontal collision. Tookvehicle to dealer, and dealer replaced some parts of transmission.every 3000 miles transmission started slipping, then, gauge was stuck with rpms at 3, no matter if vehicle was stopped or driving.please provide any further information.

Traction control light on dashboard came on, and suddenly abs locked up for a couple seconds while vehicle was just being driven out of a parking lot. Consumer contacted manufacturer, and was informed that ford was aware ofproblem.

Had manually shifted vehicle into neutral and was about to setbrakes whenvehicle started to roll forward. It seems transmission slipped out of neutral into drive.

Special gas/brake/clutch pedals in mustang gt bullitt edition (only) can slip out from under foot when foot pressure is applied in wet and especially soapy conditions (i.e. Car wash). Clutch pedal is especially prone to slippage. Rubber nubs on pedals can also come off with certain shoes, reducing foot-pedal friction further.

2001 cobra has bad synchros and a bad gear.the ford dealership stated that the car had more than one bad synchro and 2nd gear was bad. Only 20k miles on car.the headliner came down as well.

Was traveling approximately 5mph when for no reason air bags deployed.vehicle then bumped into wooden fence.driver suffered burns on arms.consumer wrote in stating "the car was parked and when i got out of the car it rolled forward bumping a wood fence post and both air bags deployed".

The passenger seat has rarely been used in this vehicle. However, the week the seatbelt failed (became jammed in panel as though i had hit brakes and would not release) i was the driver for an 88 year old female friend running her errands while her caregiver was out of town., the seat belt was used for several days. I went on line and found numerous articles and recalls. I contacted my local ford dealer. They implied on the phone it would be repaired at no charge because, once i was on site, rent car arranged i was told my particular vehicle was not a specific recall and indicated i must pay. Now after 5 days of paying for a rent car. I was informed replacement seatbelt had not been ordered pending my approval. (previously it was not explained to it would have to be entirely replaced. Cost of seatbelt $260.42 total cost to install $584.63. My vehicle will not pass inspection as this is a major safety issue. I feel i have been mislead and ripped off by dealer. At this point i am picking up the part only, turning in the rent car and seeking a less expensive install. This is a well documented defect with this vehicle and could have easily been in an accident with no restraint for my passenger.

The contact owns a 2001 ford mustang. The contact stated that the vehicle front passenger seat belt sensor broke. The dealer was notified of the failure who stated that the vehicle was not under any warranty for the failure to be repaired and offered no assistance. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 111,530 and the current mileage was 111,570.

The contact owns a 2001 ford mustang. The contact stated that the front driver seat belt was stuck in a partially retracted position. The contact also stated that the seat belt would not pull out any further or retract any further. The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. The contact owns a 2001 ford mustang.while driving 30 mph, the contact noticed that the check engine light illuminated on the instrument panel.the vehicle was taken to a local mechanic and the contact was informed that the filler tube needed to be replaced on the fuel system.after the vehicle was parked, she smelled gasoline on her driveway.the vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer.the current mileage was 61,410 and failure mileage was 60,000.updated 10/14/08the consumer was told the material used for the parts that had to be replaced had rotted over time. The drivers side seatbelt was not retracting and releasing. The headlamps had to be replaced because a haze file had formed on the inside. Updated 10/16/08.

The front seat belt retractors are defective in design. The seat belt twists inside the retractor, making it very difficult to use for its intended purpose.the seat belts will not retract properly and get stuck causing passengers not to be properly restrained. Consumer took vehicle to dealer for warranty repair, however the dealer refused to repair vehicle under warranty.the failure began approximately 1-2 months after purchase and has worsened over time. Problem has gone unremedied by manufacturer or dealer.

1. There is a dreadful gas fume odor inside the car every time i put fuel in the carespecially when i fill the tank. 2.the emergency brake does not work properly. When engaged my car still rolls a little.3. The seat belts do not retract properly and tend to twist and tangle when i try to do it manually.

My wife and i were involved in a hit and run incident while traveling southbound on i-75 just south of delk road in marietta ga.the driver of the other car caused us to begin a series of oversteer corrections which ultimately led to the car loosing complete traction and making two complete revolutions while exiting the road towards the grass shoulder.we exited the road going backwards and proceeded to hit a 6' deep culvert and cause the car to become airborne.upon the initial impact my wife's safety belt which had been properly secured until the impact, released and caused her to come out of her seat.after landing and then coming to rest violently i immediately checked to make sure she was alright and was in question of why her belt had detached from the receiver.the was no visible damage to the mechanism, however upon initial impact i distinctly remember hearing a metallic "clink" noise followed by my wife coming out of her passenger seat.this was noted in the accident report and was described to all first responders on site.

I recently bought a 01 mustang with 103k miles on it. Not 2 days later the passenger seat belt stopped working. I took it down to our local ford house and they told me it was just odd that it happened to break and would cost 300 dollars to change the seat belt. I did some research online and find that many people have this problem. Either the seat belt locks up and takes a while to straiten back out or like mine it just stops working. One post on a forums said that his 2003 mustang's went out before 50000 miles. I think this should be changed by the dealer because if it is happening so much it is obviously a defect. I have a 95 thunderbird and 01 alero that still have their seat belts working perfectly.thanks for your time on this matter.

The contact owns a 2001 ford mustang.the driver and passenger front seat belts will not retract or release.the failure began approximately 5-6 months ago and has worsened over time.the purchase date was unknown.the current mileage was 107,500 and the failure mileage was unknown.

I own a 2001 ford mustang and the front driver and passenger seat belts have been a problem for more than 3 years.they do not retract due to the cheap components used to keep them from twisting.this also causes them to be loose when wearing them.i have been to many message boards on mustang websites and have found that many people have been having the same problem.i recently had a conversation with a local dealership service dept. Manager and was told that they had 2 mustangsin that month for this repair.my car was beyond its manufacturers warranty.i was told it would cost $652 for parts and labor.therefore i have decided not to pay to have it fixed and will continue to deal with this problem, fixing them to the best of what i can do to make them somewhat functional.my opinion is that this is an issue with this car that ford needs to address but will not due to the fact that it is their #1 vehicle and recall costs would be to much.

Dt: the contact states the passenger's side seat belt doesnot work properly.the vehicle has not been to a dealership for repairs.

-the contact stated that the 2001 ford mustang passenger side seat belt didn't release.on january 1, 2007 the seat belt wouldn't come out of the holder.the contact never noticed this because no one ever sat on the passenger side of vehicle.the lap and shoulder belt could not be worn by anyone on passenger's side, it will not work. She also stated that the driver's side seat retractor only worked ifoneplayed with it. The driver's side belt will not retract into the holder on its own.the contact stated that the dealership has informed her that she will have to pay for any repairs for the seat belt.there was a recall 99v250000 on ford mustangs from 1999-2000 for seat belt failureshe thought that the manufacturer should compensate the consumer in some way for the seat belt failures.

Seat belt activates unexpectedly and is grossly over-sensitive. For example, repeatedly locks-up and prevents driver from turning upper body to obtain reasonable view from rear of approaching traffic when exiting freeway.

While driving 65 mph driver applied the brakes andpedal went to the floor. Driver lost control of the vehicle and hit an embankment. Driver's side seat belt became detached. However, both air bags did not deploy.driver sustained neck and back injuries and was transported by ambulance to a hospital. Vehicle was totaled.

The front seat belt retractor faild. As a result, the occupants werenotbeing restrained. Consumer stated that warranty entitled her to any safety restraint problems, five years or 50,000 miles.however the dealer refused to repair vehicle under warranty. Iak

Restraint retracted and locked nearly choking the occupant.owner had to cut restraint to freepassenger.manufacturer has been notified.

Set belts in the2001 mustang never worked the best now the passanger's side set belt won't work at all, it won't come out so you can lock yourself in.there was no accident.

Seat belts were twisted inside the retractor, making it very difficult to use. The problem was repaired then two day later it happened again. When the seat belt were not twisted they had to be retracted manually.

Vehicle was hit head on while driving 5-10 mph, seatbelt did not restrain driver, she hit her head onwindshield. Damage to vehicle unknown at this time.i

While at a stop consumer's vehicle wasrear-ended, and it causedpassenger's seat to fully recline, trappingpassenger in the rear seat. Dealer notified.

Automobile collision front seat failure leaving driver unable to control the vehicle. Vehicle involved 2001, ford, mustang.

During the incident the back of the driver seat fractured. As a result, the driver sustained a bruised hip that did not require medical attention. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 155,283.

While the consumer sat in the drivers seat the drivers chest somehow hit the automatic seat adjustment button and caused the driver to become pinned between the steering column and the drivers seat. *nlm

The contact owns a 2001 ford mustang. While driving approximately 40 mph the contact smelled a burning odor. The abs light also illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The mechanic stated the abs computer needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. When brakes are applied brakes have slow reaction time and stall causing the car to run into oncoming traffic on numerous occasions. When driving and applying brakes car vibrates almost like a pumping effect and then skids.

Traction control light on dashboard came on, and suddenly abs locked up for a couple seconds while vehicle was just being driven out of a parking lot. Consumer contacted manufacturer, and was informed that ford was aware ofproblem.

Driving home, rainy evening, small animal ran out in front of car, hit brakes, locked up, car proceeded straight, air bags deployed.did not hit or run over anything.have witness to event.dealer and ford indicate that this is typical and the air bag did as it was suppose to.upon dealer checking for damage, small dent found in undercarriage of car. No entrance or exit wounds, just a dent - other parts of car are lower..dealer put car up on jack to show us, placed jack in wrong place, covering damage, had to take it back down.damage lines up perfectly with jack.dealer damaged w/ jack and ford (who wouldn't even come in to look at car) agreed w/ dealer that this could cause airbag deployment.i did not hit anything, the air bags malfunctioned, dealer made damage - it's a cover-up.

While applying the brakes pedal went the floor. Consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle, and drove it to the dealer for inspection.mechanic informed consumer that the problem could not be duplicated.

Following safety report was filed with ford motor company on-line:=========================================the ford right front inner break pad separated from its metal base and caused damage to the rotor.i was able to identify the break problem when i started hearing a rough metal sound.i had a private technician to remove the break pads and rotor immediately.then took it and showed it to the ford dealer swanson ford in los gatos, california.the dealer was reluctant to accept the fact that the break pad was split apart, he has insistent on it was pad wear.i do not believe the ford dealer technician, it is visual and very noticeable that the break pad has split apart from its metal base, it was not a wear out down to the metal base.this is unsafe and may cause unnecessary accidents.the same problem may happen to other drivers too.this is why i am insisting on a factory representative to get back to me in a very short time.due to safety reason i will have no choice to turn all the evidence to the national transportation department if ford corporation does not come forward to investigate the problem and pay for the additional damages caused due to malfunction of the break pad assembly.i would like you to consider proper immediate action regarding this matter, and i would like a ford field engineer to look into the matter not a technician or a mechanic from a ford dealer, specially not anyone from the swanson ford in los gatos california.your immediate reply is expected upon receipt of this email.

The left driver side of the car came completely of and fell on the rim and brought the car to an almost complete stop.
