Takata recall it has taken a year for me to finally get my car into the dealership for this recall. My local dealership would transfer me to the recall department and then i would have to leave a message, they never called me back. When i am on break from school is the only time i can attempt to get the car in because they will not offer a loaner car. I call repeatedly the entire break 2-3 weeks and finally i had to reach out to the further dealership to finally get back to me. Again no loaner from them either. They offered a shuttle and spoke as if it is quick, i had to wait 80 minutes for a shuttle along with over 10 people who also needed a ride. They only had one shuttle to transport people home for everyone. I ended up paying for a taxi home due to meetings i had to get ready for and the taxi arrived before the shuttle after i waited 80 minutes.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang gt. While accelerating from a stop, the vehicle hesitated to pick up speed and then surged at a high rate of speed. The vehicle shifted out of gear several times and the contact had to place the gear in drive 3 to prevent the failure. In addition, the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign numbers: 15v319000 (air bags) and 16v384000 (air bags). The contact was not informed of the recalls when he purchased the vehicle. The dealer was not notified. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available. Parts distribution disconnect. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

Takata airbag recall ford has not notified me that repair can be made on the passenger side airbag of my 2006 mustang.when i call my local dealerships, i am told that i will be notified by ford when the replacement parts are available, but i have been asking for the past 6 months and still no remedy has been forthcoming from ford.all i want is to have my passenger airbag replaced so the danger can be removed from my mustang.ford is not addressing this dangerous issue in a timely manner.i am unhappy with them and that is the complaint.please force them to provide the necessary recall and repair as soon as possible.thanks!

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang gt. The contact stated that nhtsa campaign number: 16v384000 (air bags) exceeded a reasonable amount of time for repair. The contact received the recall notification in july of 2016. The dealer (orchard isle, kanoelehua ave, hilo, hi, 96720) stated that the parts were unavailable for the repair and would notify him when they arrive. The manufacturer was not contacted. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

It has been over 1 year since the discovery of safety issues with the passenger side airbag in my car. There has been no urgency around fixing this issue in a timely manner. Please help expedite the replacement process so i don't have to watch someone i care about die next to me due to shrapnel injuries from a faulty inflator.

Takata recall.i have had the driver side airbag replaced but i am being told the parts for the passenger side are unavailable.i am a little concerned as to what i do at this point with the car.will parts become available at some point ? or am i stuck with a car with a bad airbag ? i was hoping to get an answer as to what i am to do next.i haven't had any accidents with the car but would like to get the car repaired.

Takata recall: to state there is no remedy available is not an acceptable answer. The manufacturer should be accountable to the government, who in turn should be accountable to the consumer, to ensure a known problem that can cause severe injury and/or death is resolved by whatever means are necessary to protect consumers. Other (foreign) manufacturers are impounding their vehicles and providing (safe) vehicles to their customers for the duration until the vehicle is repaired--free of charge! why cannot a u.s. Manufacturer be held to the same standard?

Takata recalli have been waiting over 2 years for this fix. What course of action is available to me?

Takata recallthis recall is from 2016 and whenever i try and have ti fixed i am still to this day i am told that the "parts are not in and cannot be ordered yet" this is insane and these companies need to be held accountable for their mistakes and for using defective parts to cut corners at the detriment of the consumer.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang gt. The contact received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 14v802000 (air bags) and stated that the part needed was unavailable to perform the recall repair. Takata recallmy car has had an active recall since june 2016, yet ford and local dealership have not repaired the airbag nor have they provided any timeline for completing this work on my car.not completing the work for well over a year or even be able to provide a date by which the work will be done is not acceptable.i need for this repair to be completed asap in order to avoid any risk for failure.

Went to dealership billy howell ford in cumming ga. They said to bad so sad they dont have any air bags to fix my airbag problem would like my airbag fixed on passager side

Takata recall

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 (na) ford mustang gt. The contact received an unknown recall for the air bags; however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair as the recall notice was received over a year ago. The dealer (bob maxey ford, 1833 e jefferson ave, detroit, mi 48207 (313) 392-9200) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was contacted several times and was unable to confirm when the parts were to become available. The contact recently received a postcard from tk holdings, alerting him that they filed for bankruptcy. The contact had not experienced a failure. The vin was not available.

I have had 2 recalls, for both driver's side and passenger side airbags. In both instances, it takes a very long time to get these replaced. Meantime i am driving around in an unsafe vehicle. When i asked for a replacement vehicle until mine is repaired, i was told they didn't do that. It was bad enough when it was on my side, but now it's on the side where my mother, who suffers from dementia, usually sits. I have enough to worry about with her, without having to worry about the airbag deploying and injuring or killing her. I purchased their product in good faith, and now, through no fault of my own, i am forced to drive around in a possible death trap. I don't think asking for a temporary replacement vehicle is an unreasonable request.

I've been waiting for over three years with this recall and yet they haven't replaced the drivers airbag i think this is a little ridiculous what should i do they keep saying the parts not available i can't drive my car it's not safe for me what should i do?

"takata recall" although i check my mail and have contacted local ford dealerships i have not been able to complete recall 16s26. This car was oe purchased in florida, until 2013 when i bought it and drove it to vermont. The mileage in florida was over 70,000. I have asked for help to have the airbag replaced, calling ford and checking with dealers.. No luck. I believe this vehicle should have priority given the fact that it was driven in a hot, humid climate for the bulk of its' life. I ask nhtsa to intervene in this case and get my vehicle the safety priority it needs.

Takata recallcontacted ford directly, talked with two dealers and was told "it is the driver's side airbag only" had both of the driver 's side replacement recalls done after waiting for about a year for replacement parts for the second. Now i get a recall for the passenger side with again with "no replacement parts available" i paid extra for additional for side airbags in my car and i would like for someone like ford, or the government to find out if the side curtain airbags are just as dangerous as the the others installed. So maybe they could get them all fixed before more folks getkilled by "safety devices".

Takata recall -- i am the owner of a 2006 mustang gt, for which i received a recall notice by mail in december 2015. I phoned the dealer immediately to schedule the service on the car, but was told that parts were not available that week. The car was essentially off the road in storage the remainder of the winter. I phone the dealer on 4/28/2016, and was told that parts were still not available. They were "hoping the parts would be in, soon." this is an unconscionable delay for a problem that could result in "serious injury or death," according to the recall notice. What can be done about the situation?

Recall passenger side air bag defective notified for over 2 years dealerships say they don't have the parts to install under recall...help is needed vehicle was hit airbag never opened on passage side

Takata recall:i have contacted ford corp twice and they told me a letter would be sent....this since 2014.i have contacted holman ford in maple shade, nj 4 times to ask if they have the parts for the airbag recall.they have consistently told me they don't have the parts yet and i will get a letter.i have not moved or changed my address for 33 years and have not received anything.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang gt. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 14v802000 (air bags) and15v319000 (air bags); however, the parts to do the repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

Takata recall- i called the dealer several times and cant get my car fixed, dealer says they dont have parts., parts on back order

"takata recall"

"takata recall" ford dealership claim that they do not have these parts to replace the recalled airbags.fordhas sent a letter stating that the airbags are being manufactured but will not be available until spring 2018.

Takata inflators - how is is that according to the wall street journal 12/19/17 that honda is going door to door to find people who haven't responded to them but ford can't get the airbags for this model in stock? it's been 18 months.

Takata recall (17s01/nhtsa recall 17v-024) received in march 2017 states that a ruptured inflator may cause serious injury or death. For this reason i have not driven this vehicle while waiting for the airbags to be repaired.my ford dealer continues to report that there are no parts available to fix this issue, so i am unable to drive it for fear of injury or death.it has been months of waiting for parts and it is unacceptable that this issue can not be repaired yet.

I am concerned about a recall (14v802) the recall indicates that fragments can strike the occupants of the vehicle in the event of a crash. Ford is telling me that this is not the recall which has been in the news lately about that very same symptom even though the vehicle has been in the desert for the last 9 years. I'm confused about which recall qualifies for the priority repair if this one doesn't.

Takata recall

Takata recallthe time to repair this has been several years. Because of recall i cannot have passengers ride in my vehicle.

Takata recall:i have ford recall 16v-384 and this was corrected 12-6-2018.i also have ford recall notice 15s21 and also 15v319.these last two recall number have not be completed and the ford dealer who did the work on 16v384 says the other two (15s21 and 15v319) do not apply.please help

Takata recall:i was issued a passenger side takata recall notice in june, 2016. Nhtsa recall number 16v384.it is a full year and a half later and there is still no remedy available.i completed the driver side recall twice.how much longer will it take ford to take this time bomb out of my passenger side and replace?a year and a half wait after the recall notice is unsatisfactory and dangerous.

''takata recall'' the driver side air bag was replaced shortly after i purchased the vehicle in 2016 by lairdnoller ford in lawrence, kansas.i was notified that the passenger side air bag was also under recall but that a replacement had never been made available.

Takata recall waiting for repair since july 2016 took it to dealership they said no parts for repair will call but have not heard from them .

The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

Takata recall - this airbag recall was issued in june 2016 and no parts have been made available for the repair.this recall has exceeded the one year timeline by two months and is now considered 'not timely'.a daily fine is recommended until the parts are available.filing complaint per nhtsa recommendation: "if the manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for your vehicle in a timely manner, please contact the nhtsa vehicle safety hotline at: 1-888-327-4236 or tty: 1-800-424-9153 or file an online complaint with nhtsa."

Takata recallwe have been waiting and checking periodically for several years with santa monica ford (our local ford dealer/service shop) for permanent replacement of the driver side and passenger side inflators, and are told they are still not available.

Takata recall. I was notified by ford that parts were available to correctthis. Have been waiting almost 2 years. Called local dealer and they do not have parts. Contacted ford and they were not able to help either. I want to make sure you know that ford is not able to correct this in case they are reporting it as corrected. It's not for lack of trying by consumers to get it fixed.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang gt.while driving 25 mph across an intersection, the vehicle was struck on the front driver side door.none of the air bags deployed.the contact sustained three broken ribs, a deep thigh bruise, a flesh wound on his knee, and a sprained neck and shoulder.the insurance company stated that the vehicle was destroyed.a police report was filed.ford filed case number 522283387.the current and failure mileages were 14,000.updated 04/23/08

Ok, 5/22/2015 we received a recall notice for the drivers side ab, it was replaced, today the car is in for that recall of 2015?. We received a letter stating the passenger ab is recalled, however ford does not have the parts.today i called ford about the drivers side, they had no record of the car being repaired 5/2015. I would like to know why? was the ab ever fixed?, on the drivers. I feel unsafe driving the car. The passenger side could take up to the end of dec. 2017 to be replaced. The complaint is the drivers, the replacement being recalled!, plus ford has no record of the 2015 replacement. Today it's a gosch ford, having the drivers side ab replaced. We are the original owners, and just purchased a f150, 2016 recently from gosch. I feel someone is not telling the truth about the repair. I have the invoice right in front of me, and it stated drivers ab inflator replacement completed.

Passenger side front airbag inflator may rupture with metal fragments hitting the passenger.

Takata recall - letter from ford today (3/26/18) "please call your dealer without delay and request a service date for recall 16s26 to receive your free repair". I did. Service rep said they could not schedule me because the dealership has no idea when or how many of the replacement parts will be coming. Me : will i get another (3rd) letter telling me when the parts are available ? them : no, you'll just have to keep calling back. Me : aarrrgghhhhh. Also in the letter, "if you have difficulties getting your vehicle repaired promptly ... Contact our ford customer relationship center 1-866-436-7332. I did. When i asked why ford dealerships don't know when or how many parts they are getting i was put oh hold. After 19 minutes on the phone i was told parts "should be available by fri. 4/9/18" and that it was up to me to keep calling to see when and if my dealership had the parts available. (1) in this day and age, is it too much to ask that the dealerships be responsible for notifying auto owners when the freaking parts are available so then they could call to schedule their repair ??? (2) letter states "if an inflator explodes sharp metal fragments could strike the passenger or other occupants causing serious injury or death." doesn't this make the car unsafe to drive at all ? i've only owned it since july 2017 and because of this recall have driven it less than 500 miles yet my insurance payments of $50/month keep on a comin'. This recall process is (a) broken, and (b) frustrating since i really shouldn't be driving this car at all, yet ford says don't worry, just don't allow anyone to sit in the passenger seat. You would think ford would pay a little more attention to their dedicated mustang owners ... Wouldn't you ?? thanks for your time, doubt there's anything you can do about how they manager their recall. Let me reiterate - aaarrgghhh. :-(

Takata recall. Why is the manufacturer taking so long to make the repair? my vehicle is unsafe for my front seat passenger. This issue should have been addressed by now. It has been more than one year.

This morning the unexpected and unheard of happened my passenger side airbag inside the seat deployed for no apparent reason. I was pulling in to the gas station at about 5-10 mph with my brother in the passenger side and wife in backseat when all of a sudden the airbag exploded, my brother thought we got into a crash and wife thought we were getting shot at and i thought my engine exploded until my brother said it was the airbag and was complaining of pain in his arm while my wife complained she could not hear from the loud pop when it deployed. My car has ford racing lowering springs i have had them on the car for almost two years. I recently drove from south carolina to texas and the roads were not smooth especially here in texas where it happened. I might understand the airbag in the seat deploying while hitting a hard bump but not when driving on a smooth concrete surface where it ended up deploying. I think if i was driving down the highway and the airbag inside the seat on the driver side would have deployed i could have lost control.

Takata recall:ford will not authorize a rental car while the air bag recall is being rectified. I have called all my local utah dealers as well as spoken to many managers at the ford motor company customer service, and the answer i get is that ford will not pay for a rental car. I was assigned case number 13037449 and this is tied to the vin.the ford customer service folks were of no help and said the car is safe to drive, but yet this is a safety recall. I have a letter from ford stating the recall associated with my 2006 ford mustang can result in serious injury or death due to a ruptured inflator discharging metal fragments, striking the vehicle occupants. My spouse is always a passenger in the vehicle, and we don't feel safe driving the vehicle with the outstanding safety recall. With one car out of commission due to a safety recall, ford should authorize use of a rental car, paid for by ford motor company.

Takata recall, after third recall notice in july 2016, no action taken by anyone to replace the airbag.

Takata recall - just received a notice a few weeks ago but when i went to make an appointment at the dealer they had already run out of replacement parts.there was no scheduled date for additional replacement parts to arrive at the dealer.

"takata recall" findlay ford or friendly ford does not have a replacement or know when they will. Said they would send a postcard if they get one in. I'd like to get this fixed before i die. Thanks for being there for us consumers. K. Simpler

Takata recall need to replace passenger side airbag

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang gt. Takata recall - 16v384this recall was issued on june 1, 2016 or almost a year and a half ago.and still a remedy is not yet available.my family is at risk driving this velicle without the airbag being replaced. There is simply no reason that ford and the nhtsa cannot provide consumer protection for the products that have been sold to loyal ford customers.

Takata recall:called my local ford dealer in july of 2015.i was told they were on order and they would call me.had keys made at the dealer in september 2015, still on order.july 2016 still on order after i called 4 times in the last year.ford explained they were on order and i should get a letter by the end of 2016.in december 2015 phil long ford sent me a letter offering me $10,705 trade for my shelby mustang to trade for a new car!dealer will not return my phone calls.

"takata recall", i have contacted the dealership(beau townsend) last year about the recall, they said i was placed on a waiting list, i still do not have my mustang recall replaced. I do not want to drive this car until fixed..can someone help?

Takara airbags never deployed

My 2006 mustang gt convertible is now on its second ford battery under warranty for about 3 months now.36k and while driving home last night the radio shut off and a "battery low" message displayed on the radio followed by all the yellow caution lights, abs/tractioncontrol off/check engine and am sure i detected a burning wire odor. Alternator at only 36k?the voltage meter was dead as well.i really enjoy the car and am surprised about this.

During rain or rinsing of car wash, water leaks inside cabin. Water has started corrosion in small areas under dash where it has contacted wires.

Lost function of brake lights, turn signals and flashers.ford dealer in winston salem, nc said the drain below the windshield has stopped up and diverted the water via the wiring to the sjb thereby shorting it out.had new sjb installed and water removed from passenger floor area.took 2 days for carpeting to dry out.cost was 610.38 plus the sjb.this situation could have caused an accident for not having brake lights or turn signals.it is now july 1, 2014 and the same part has failed again but without the water issue.the car is going back in the shop tomorrow.i hope i don't get rear ended on the way to parkway ford.please address this issue with ford motor company.there are hundreds of issues involving the location of the sjb posted on the internet.there needs to be a recall before someone is killed, if they haven't been already.

A few weekends ago i purchased a very nice looking 06 mustang gt with 87,000 (apx) miles.car had just been cleaned up very nicely and looked like a good deal.on the way home i took it through the car wash and came to discover why it had been so cleaned out.water began pouring in under the passenger side glove compartment.like a water fall.the water didn't stop until there was a good 4 inches on the floor.what a nightmare.the water smelled terrible.i smell a awful mold/mildew smell now that won't go away.there were small electrical issues at the time that seem to have cleared up... For now.an internet search revealed the drainage holes under the cowl were plugged and an investigation verified the problem.clearing of the drainage holes took only a few minutes, but i fear the damage may be there and will cause serious issues in the future if the wires should ever rust.an electrical failure is scary.electrical components control.. Well..the entire car.cruise control, windows, anti-lock brakes, air bags, etc.i'd hate my air bags to deploy while driving.and the mold in the carpet can't be healthy either.ford needs to acknowledge this problem and repair these vehicles at no cost to the consumer.this is not only an inconvenience, but the electrical aspect of the situation makes this an extremely dangerous gamble.when this car is paid off, i'm getting a different summertime fun car, and it won't be another ford.unless ford takes responsibility for the issue.

2006 mustang gt manual transmission. Replacement of battery results in engine stalling with air conditioning on when clutch depressed.. The owners manual states on replacing battery the computer needs to relearn idle. This does not work at least not in a reasonable amount of time. The vehicle has been driven over a number of days with no improvement. With the air conditioner running and depressing the clutch either coming to stop or turning a corner the engine idle will drop far enough where the vehicle will stall resulting in a loss of power steering and power brakes possibly creating a dangerous situation. The vehicle ran correctly before the battery replacement and only has 22,000 miles. Googling this issue on the internet finds numerous problems which are identical of which owners of the 4.6l ford v8 (not just mustang) are reporting idle and stalling problems after replacing the battery and with the issue not resolving itself as the owners manual states resulting in either a computer reflash or throttle body replacement. This defect could result in a crash causing serious injury or death. Ford should recall affected vehicles and have the default idle setting set for a higher value so the air conditioner when engaged does not result in the engine stalling. The idle of engine is erratic with the air conditioner on since it is engaging and disengaging due to the low idle speed < 500rpm. By not using the air conditioner the idle speed will return to its normal speed of around 600 to 700rpm but still fluctuates slightly. Not being able to use the air conditioner is not acceptable, especially in the south east. The control feed back of the idle system is incorrectly operating with the air conditioner load on it.

Vehicle was entering freeway when all dash lights stopped functioning and went black.within several seconds the vehicle lost power and began spluttering.vehicle pulled onto the side of the freeway and the engine cut out.vehicle was unable to restart once engine died. Vehicle was taken to dealership where the alternator was found to be defective.

1. Prior unrelated discussion with a tow truck driver advised me that he has had to tow in a couple of cars that are the samemake and model as mine. He advised me that the positive battery cable were failing. He advised me to check it. 2. I checked my positive battery cable connection to the battery yesterday. There was severe corrosion and 1/2 of the connecting clamp was eaten away by corrosion at the positive side of the battery/cable.3. I cleaned the connection as best i could but i will be calling ford as vehicle is only 1 year old. Cable needs to be replaced before failure. There appears to be a problem as why is this happening in only 1 year?replacement of this cable seems to be only a temporarily fix.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang gt. The contact turned the ignition to the start position. Immediately, the vehicle battery power failed; the front driver and passenger windows released in a downward position approximately 3 to 4 inches without assistance. The vehicle had a jump start and resumed normally. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the relay switch was replaced. The technician stated that the failure was a common occurrence. The identical failures occurred on a separate occasion. The vehicle has not been repaired for the malfunctions. The failure mileage was 30,429. The current mileage was 43,000.updated 05/06/10. *ljupdated 09/07/10

Water leak, passenger side under dash.dealer decline to repair because they could not reproduce leak.

Driving home form a trip i started hearing a slapping/ticking noise form under the hood.investigated the problem and seems to be coming form timing chain cover/ valve cover area on passenger side.after doing research on this matter and a mechanic visit it is a timing chain guide/tensioner.its a costly repair and seems to be a common problem on 05-09 mustangs form internet research.they use the timing chain cause they should last the life of the car, cause they wont break. I think the guides should also last, but they are made of plastic and can break at anytime. I think this is a ploy by ford or a defect that needs to be addressed as plastic contained inside of a major car part that can break easily, may cause chain to slip off and shut off engine causing blown engine, or worse while on highway causing an accident.they should be replaced by stainless or aluminum for strength and better support.

The electronic throttle body and electronic throttle sensor were sending my car into "limp mode", and very nearly caused two accidents before i could have the issue diagnosed and repaired. The first instance of "limp mode" came while i was driving home on the freeway in commute traffic. It was warm, traffic was erratic stop-and-go, and i had the ac on. After a period of coasting at idle, traffic opened up; but when i tried to accelerate the car staggered and nearly stalled. I thought it was due to heat and the ac. The car then jerked forward before running smoothly again.the second time, i was on my way to work, again in freeway commute traffic. Traffic was at a stop for several minutes, and then i heard a news report that there were accidents ahead. I moved over to the 4th lane of 5, in preparation for exiting at the next off ramp. When i tried to pull out and speed up into that lane, the car again staggered and then stalled; i managed to re-start it and get moving again as a truck came racing towards me, with the driver hitting his brakes and horn. I barely avoided a crash.

The engine shuts off while driving after it heats up. This has happened several times in these last couple of months after purchasing the used vehicle. I took it to the dealership to fix. They replaced o2 sensors and i got it back last night and today i was driving on the freeway when the car just shut off on me again and the rpms dropped to zero. I was able to pull the car off to the side safely. I put the car in park and restarted it.i drove for about a minute or two and it shut off again, so again i pulled over and restarted the car. This happened about three or four times before i was able to reach my final destination.

On august 13, 2013 at 1:45pm while driving to a car dealership in elgin, il, my wife and i were driving north on rt59 which is a 45 mph zone. My pressed the accelerator pedal and the car started to sputter and hesitate. She pressed the pedal a little more and the car just took off by its self. Before we knew it, we were traveling at 70 mph though a large population area. My wife was terrified and tried pressing the brakes to the floor but they only slowed the car a little. I told my wife to tap the accelerator pedal to see if the speed would reduce. It only increased in speed. I told my wife to tap the pedal again. The car did not slow and she was still unable to slow the car with the brakes. I told my wife to press the pedal harder. The car lurched forward and then began to slow down. My told me last year that while she was driving the car that it did the exacted same thing, but i didn't understand what she was talking about until i experienced it myself. My wife was terrified and it scared the [xxx] out of me as well. The car is showing no check engine lights or service engine soon lights. This malfunction could cost someone their life and needs to be addressed.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Our ford mustang gt that was purchased for our 17 yr old daughter was purchased 2-21-2006 it had its first problems at 629 miles on 3-4-2006 the dealership replaced some followers and some lifters and some camshaft parts. We've been told all should be replaced the whole bank.dealer won't do anything about it car started smoking a week later and making ticking noise again. Dealer said it didn't do it there so nothing was done. Next, car started hesitating after driving on hwy couple hrs. Dealership replaced fuel pump and gear box was hot and rattling so they replaced it.then car accelerated on its own from 50 to 90 miles hr. Dealership couldn't find anything that was at 8300 miles now at 9700 miles car has taking off again from 40 to 80 when our daughter put it in neutral and coast to side of road our daughter and her friends are to afraid to drive it now and its been at dealership for 2 full weeksalso the paint on the passenger rear fender is bubbling off the car.someone is going to get hurt, probably already have died but know one has checked into it. #1 - there are no identifiable events that either originally, or subsequently lead up to the failure(s).#2 - the 'failure' is on-going, and intermittent in nature, with the car stalling randomly, not responding to the gas pedal and then surging forward a few seconds later and exhibiting lag time when shifting.we hadseveral episodes of stalling when going through an intersection which has put us in 'the line of fire' with on-coming traffic.we have also experienced complete shut-down of the vehicle when just going down the road. #3 - the car has been in and out of the shop for over two years, with periods experiencing o.k. Performance, and these intermittent issues.

Vehicle has intermittent hesitation problem. Could result in serious problem when enteringparkway. Dealership is privy to this complaint, but say they can't do anything unless they create the problem which can't be done unless vehicle is driven on parkway for 1-2 hrs. Though this problem has occurred locally its not likely that technician will be able to re-create this driving locally. This problem can be a dangerous one if not repaired. Fords tsb recognizes what's causing problem and i have the solution for it. But once again, dealer says their hands are tied.

At 19,000 miles my car began overheating during the test drive and had radiator fluid spilled in the engine compartment. Inspecting the upper radiator hoses one of the clamps was broken. While replacing the clamp i discovered that another one was broken as well. A search online of complaints about this problem revealed similar complaints. I no longer have the old clamps.

My 2006 mustang gt has been in the service department three times within 2 months time. When you make a left or right turn there is a grinding sound. They have installed 2 clutch packs (kit-axle dif, 3 gear and pinions, and a new flange. I know it is not the way the vehicle is driven. It was bought new in march 2006 and it only has 7000 miles on it and this is february 2007. The car is not "beat" at all. If these vehicles are supposed to be high performance vehicles. Could you imagine what would happen if the "rear end" was to lock up? am i the only one having this problem? also there is a ticking sound that sounds like the valves are rattling, there is a tsb on the valves but dealership says that is not the problem. I only use bp and amoco gas, the gas that is preferred for the vehicle.

After changing the battery on my 2006 ford mustang gt with 5 speed manual transmission it idles very rough and sometimes dies during driving or idles so low the power steering is not fully functional resulting in excessive steering effort. The car ran fine until the battery was replaced. I followed the relearn procedure in the owners manual but it did not help.

Floor mat provided by roush got stuck behind the gas pedal and caused my car to accelerate to what felt like 90-100 mph.i attempted to pass traffic ahead of me and slammed my foot on the gas pedal to move ahead; however, upon passing the traffic on the garden state parkway north, which has a speed limit of 65 mph, my gas pedal became stuck or jammed in the mat and accelerated to what felt like 90-100 mph.i shifted to neutral then accidentally to reverse hearing a mechanical clunk, during which time i repeatedly slammed my foot on the gas pedal and then luckily, the gas pedal released and i was able to resume driving like normal.later that day, i noticed that the floor mat was stuck behind the gas pedal at work; it may have slid under the gas pedal when my foot lifted up from the floor or the exact time i am not sure since when i enter my car i do not look to see if my floor mat is stuck behind the gas pedal.however, i am filing a complaint because the floor mat provided by ford with my 2006 roush stage ii ford mustang had no hole to latch onto the hook on the floor of the car as well as the roush floor mat provided with purchase of the car and used that day, did have a hole to connect to the hook on the floor, but does not fit the hook.i am complaining because the manufacturers did not ensure 100% that their floor mats are secured to the floor; instead, in this example, it slid on the floor and became stuck behind my gas pedal.i have since removed the roush floor mat from the floor and do not use a floor mat, neither the one provided by ford nor the one provided by roush.this complaint is more a cosmetic design flaw than a mechanical problem, since no transmission light came on the dashboard which i communicated to ford by mail.otherwise, i would have went through with an inspection of my vehicle at my local ford dealership the following day (which i scheduled), but the car drives fine today and there is no light on the dashboard.

Failure occurs everytime you attempt to fill the fuel tank. The vehicle will not take fuel. Ford has put out a tsb 07-21-12 to address the issue. If tsb does not solve the problem-there is no solution according to ford.

I am having a difficult time filling the tank ofthe 2006 mustang gt.the automatic pump is triggered all the time, and only allows a small amount of gas to be pumped.i have also had the gas indicator in the dashboard tell me i was on empty when i was not.i have called several dealerships and ford motor company directly, and have been told this is not a problem they recognize or have ever heard of.they also will not cover any cost to repair or diagnose the problem.

My 2006 mustang gt will not take fuel. It has had the tank replaced once. The very next time i need to fuel up, after getting the new tank, the same thing happened. Itwill not fuel up. The car has been at the dealers since then (10/24/07). The dealer had ford engineers out to look at the car-they say it cannot be fixed. How do you manufacturer something that cannot be fixed?

2006 mustang gt- fuel sender needs replacement. Trouble code p0456 comes up.the fuel pump on vehicles built before january 1st, 2006 had an oversized orifice and would cause a leak in the evaporative system.the fuel pump itself will not be at danger for a failure although with an evap code you may lose fuel economy due to the tank not being properly pressurized. Also you will not pass a 'smog' test with this code.

Onthe 27th of may 2006 i took my mustang gt with only 1,069 miles to brunswick ford. The car was shifting like a 95 gt hard to shift on the way my fuel jet pump went out. They fixed the jet pump but said the trans was fine. At 3,556 miles i took it back for the transmission . It was making a winding sound they replaced the internals and the noise was still there. So they replaced the transmission. They had to bleed the clutch 4 times to get it to shift half way right .now at 5,713 miles the rear caliper was sticking. The replaced the caliper. And it left me stranded at work with a stuck caliper. This is a mustang gt not a pinto and ford needs to come up with a plan to fix this car.

Car will not accept fuel. When trying to pump gas, it spills out all over the side and on me.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang gt.the contact stated that she cannot place fuel in the vehicle.the fuel gauge indicates that there is a quarter tank of gas or a half tank of gas; however, the fuel pump will shut off and prevent her from placing any more fuel into the tank.when filling the tank, gasoline would also spit back out from the vehicle.the dealer stated that the slow fill was faulty.the manufacturer could not assist because there was a technical service bulletin produced for the failure and they knew how to perform the repair.the failure mileage was 33,000 and current mileage was 35,900.

Purchased my 2006 mustang gt in december of '06. It had approx. 59 miles on it. I have had nothing but problems with this car. The latest (and current) problem is that the car will not take any gas. The first time the problem occurred the dealership changed the fuel tank. The very first time i tried to fill up the same thing happened-it will not take the gas. The car has been sitting at the dealer since 10/25/07-today is the 28th of november. Ford has had several engineers out to look at the car and they can not resolve the problem.

Fuel gauge not working properly....showing erratic setting...empty.took car to the shop and they said it was the gas that contaminated a part....note: the gas i use is what ford recommends..bp. No parts replaced.2nd time i was told the same thing without even looking at it!! note:incident date is marked with a guess date..has happened so many times i forgot.

Hesitation in gas pedal/throttle body. When trying to pull out into traffic i would ease down on gas pedal with no reaction until about half throttle and the car would jump at about half throttle and i would then have to let off gas pedal and repeat process until up to speed of approximately 30 mph. After the first incident this became a re-occurring problem. Very dangerous situation. Everyone i talk to about this says it is a common problem with this model, 2005-2014 ford mustang. I have 3 of them and they all have the same problem.

I am contacting you to attempt to urge ford motor company to issue a recall on the large numbers of issues on 2005-06 ford mustangs (reference tsb 06-5-4).this tsb refers to a defective brake cable originally installed on these cars in which the rubber boot is prone to premature failure.this failure allows moisture into the brake housing.in very cold temperatures the parking brake will freeze disabling the vehicle.i have pursued repair of this issue with my ford dealer as well as ford customer service.they state that at this time the number of failures have not required them to issue a recall.this is their position eventhough the fix is to replace the oem hardware with upgraded materials.this is clearly a failure in a component and should be addressed regardless of the warranty which expired less than 2 months ago.i would appreciate any assistance to urge ford to remedy the problems that so many of its customers are facing and issue a recall for the defective parts.

Emergency brake will not release when outside temps drop below freezing on an 2006 ford mustang gt..

I own a 2006 ford mustang gt.the parking brake has faulty seals causing water to wander past them and freezing my brakes when its cold.it has done this for three years in a row and im so sick of it.other mustang owners are having similar problems and i don't think this should cost the consumers to fix correctly.

2006 mustang gt when it gets cold the parking brake freezes not allowing you to drive the vehicle. This happens any time its cold!

Happened 2 consecutive days. My wife was driving at around 30-40 miles per hour and all of a sudden it's like the car took off and began accelerating on its own. Breaking would not really slow it down. She was lucky enough to be able to throw the car in neutral ti shiite down but the vehicle kept revving. She had to shut it down and remove the key before it would stop. It's scary when it happens. It happened to me a day earlier at the time i thought it was a fluke. Hopefully too many people don't get killed before the nhtsa takes action. I see hundreds of complaints with the same issue on this vehicle.

Two incidents-one october 27, 2006 -transmission quit on an open highway 47 miles on vehiclesecond - december 23, 2006 - unintended acceleration - computer failure causing property damage.

2006 mustang gt4,445 milestransmission went out.would not replace with new had car for over 3 weeks.

Driving on interstate the car lost power momentarily and then resumed normal driving. Within a few miles the vehicle began making a loud noise which sounded like a flat tire. Upon beginning to move to side of road, tapped brakes and vehicle began rocking, shaking and screaming with metal on metal noise.vehicle was rocking front to back and fishtailing side to side. Vehicle lost all power steering and had no brakes. Upon disengaging brake, vehicle continued to make metal on metal noise, but was coasting with little steering. I was able to maneuver the vehicle onto an exit ramp, but upon nearing the end of the ramp i had to tap brakes again causing car to skid sideways, lock up and violently come to a stop.upon exiting the vehicle i saw a large part of the car on the ground, glowing orange. This proved to be the drive shaft. I was told that the rear differential disintegrated causing the failure. The rear end, rear driver spring, drive shaft and other components were replaced.this was such a violent incident it caused the clamp which holds the drive shaft in place to be ripped from the frame of the vehicle which caused a hole, which needed to be welded, to occur.old parts were confiscated to be returned to ford for review.

Squealing/grinding noise from rear end on low speed turns at 7000 miles. Dealer identified the source as the rear axle and put in a new diff clutch pack. Vehicle was fine for a few months but the same sound has returned, however it is intermittent and quieter. Mileage is now about 14,000. Rear ends should not be wearing out every 10k miles on a high performance vehicle.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang gt. The contact stated that the front driver side seat belt buckle would not release. After several attempts, the buckle finally released and the contact was able to remove the seat belt. The contact no longer utilized the seat belt due to the nature of the failure. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who advised that there was a service warranty for the failure however, the warranty was expired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.updated 05/08/12*ljthe consumer stated there were times, when the seat blets would lock. Updated 05/15/12

In the morning, when it is freezing outside, my emergency brakes will not release. I have to wait until it warms up outside before i can drive my car. It has happened on two separate occasions, after sitting in my driveway stationery all night long.

Hesitation at acceleration and unintended acceleration.hesitation was not corrected at dealership, i corrected through computer reprogram with diablo programmer to decrease amount of throttle delay, hesitation gone. Unintended acceleration corrected by modifying the brake pedal to increase distance between gas and brake pedals which are extremely to close, solved problem. Dealership mechanics are inept and unskilled. Took me half hour to identify and correct pedal issue.

I drive a 2006 ford mustang.i have had a brake problem similar to the problem that the toyota prius recall is having.when i am turning out of a parking lot and hit a bump, the brake give out.i took it in to have it looked at starting in october 2007, but the dealership looked at the brakes and said nothing was wrong.they wouldn't even record it in their computers.the problem has only been replicated when turning and hitting a bump simultaneously.the break pedal gives out and depresses all the way without providing any breaking.i have to remove my foot and re-apply the brake for it to work again.

The brakes on my 2006 ford mustang locked up twice this winter.the brakes pads and rotors need to be replaced and are dangerous to drive with.the vehicle has less than 25,000 miles on it.the wear on the brakes is unusual and is not something that an owner would be checking at such low mileage.i have heard this happening on several ford models.

My car is still under the extra care extended warranty. 3 weeks ago i was sitting at a traffic light i pushed the clutch in, to put into first gear and got ready for the light turn green, when my car suddenly lunched and the clutch master cylinder part pa6-gf25broke . Part numberpa6-gf25broke and was lying inside the driver side interior floor.i can't believe ford used a plastic piece part pa6-gf25 to hold the clutch pedal to the clutch master cylinder. After close inspection i notice that due to stress over time it was broken in half. I could have seriously injured me or some else, when mention it to galpin ford, they said it's not there problem they wanted to charge me 450 dollars to fix the problem, my car is still in the shop and my bill in going to be over a 1000 dollars and they don't want to cover it under the warranty either, i ready for to file a class action lawsuit and a recall can someone help me with this or knows other people who experienced with the same problem.

Water leaking under dash on passenger side of my ford mustang gt 2006 model. It has progressivly over time gotten worse. There should be a recall.

During rain or rinsing of car wash, water leaks inside cabin. Water has started corrosion in small areas under dash where it has contacted wires.

I own a 2006 ford mustang gt - the paint on the hood has started to bubble. My for dealer said it's a common issue due to iron contamination of the aluminum panel. I take great care of my car and feel ford should pay to fix this problem.

Rug on front passenger side is very wet.just forward of the seat, just inside of the door sill.appears to be water, not coolant.unknown source. Door rubber seals are fine, as are window channels, door drain slots are clear.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang gt. The contact stated that whenever it would rain, water would leak into the vehicle from the passenger side into the rear seat. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was advised that the water was entering through the clips, seal and under padding of the cowl on the windshield. The vin was unavailable. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 74,000.

I have 2006 mustang gt, brought new and the paint on the hood is falling off, i took to a ford dealer body shop, and was given an estimate of $600.00 , to repaint the hood.i was told that the warranty on the paint is only good for 36,000 miles or 3 years.the paint was not falling off at 36,000 miles, and i think ford should have had a recall on this problem, i would appreciate any help you can give me.

There were grommets left off my car when it was manufactured and now my car is full of mold/mold spores, my grandson and i ride in the vehicle every day and for the past month my grandson and i have been sick and not known why.evidently ford knew this could be a problem, we took the car to a dealership and they said mold was in the padding of my car and would have to be dehumidified and sanitized, new padding and the carpet cleaned, i just hope it is all out.we ask for the article from ford that states this problem could affect mustangs from 2005-2008.i just wonder how many other people will have this type of problem and why it was not on recall, so this problem could have been prevented.i have just recently taken my car to the dealership, as we have just started smelling the mold, no telling how long it was there before.february 14 is the day we took the car to the dealership.now i am afraid to drive the car due to the mold, and breathing the mold spores.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang gt. The contact stated that water continuously leaked onto the passenger side floorboard. The failure occurred for four years. The dealer resealed the cowl, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

I am experiencing a water leak in the passenger side floor board of my 2006 ford mustang gt.i have had it to the dealer 4 times, and it still isn't fixed.i have searched online and have found several other people complaining about the exact same problem.others have also experienced electrical problems because there is a fuse box located in the affected area.according to customer service, and the selling dealer, there are no known tsb's concerning this problem.the dealership has sealed the plastic wiper cowl, re-sealed a rubber grommet near the firewall, andthey have replaced a seal over the passenger side door.according to other customers on mustangforums.com, there is a seam between the a-pillar and firewall that was not sealed properly at the factory.as i have experienced this problem 5 times now, i believe a lot more people probably have the same problem but don't know it because they have a garage.

Pools of water under removable floor mats on front driver & passenger floors. Carpet is rotted & smells of mold/mildew. Floor under driver seat buckles under driver weight(120 lbs) electrical box under passenger seat is sitting in water. Brought car to dealer for unrelated warranty items & advised them of water. I was told to open convertible top & reclose as that would probably resolve. Brought car back & said car was soaked & then advised warranty expired 40 days ago.carpets need to be replaced as unsafe mold remains & wife experiencing chronic respiratory problems. Afraid floor under driver feet will open up due to excessive rust & cause injury to foot/feet with roadway or worse, driver seat will fall through. They were aware of inherent problem & disregarded danger to public health.

I own a 2006 ford mustang gt - the paint on the hood has started to bubble. My for dealer said it's a common issue due to iron contamination of the aluminum panel. I take great care of my car and feel ford should pay to fix this problem.

I wish to file a complaint for a 2006 ford mustang gt that i own. I started to smell a musty odor around nov 2012. Shortly afterward, i noticed a significant water leak on the passenger side floor. I brought the car to a ford dealership that went through the testing process to confirm there is a tsb relevant to my car.it cost me $146.00 to find tsb 08-26-7 applied to my vehicle. Further research revealed this history of water leaking has caused electrical problems on some cars in addition to the issues i experienced. It appears the tsb requires replacement of existing non wear parts with newly designed parts suggesting this is a manufacturers design related issue. The repair cost me $716.00 in total. I have great difficulty paying this to correct a design related defect which made my car unfit for use due to water leaking near the electrical box, a mold smell and one driver being an asthmatic. I asked ford for relief with my expenses. My request was denied. I am of the opinion a recall is appropriate and request an investigation.

I had water coming into the passenger compartment when washing my car causing damage to the carpet. Dealership advised a weld from the firewall to the "a"post on passenger side was not made at factory and gramits had been missing with no sign of them ever being installed.ford is refusing to fix and states the issue is with in their tolerances.as a ford customer owning a $55,000 show mustang this is not sitting well.

Corrosion on hood in several places that continues to rapidly deteriorate.after research, located tsb put out by ford indicating the corrosion is as a result of iron contamination in aluminum prior to painting which clearly states that this is a manufacturer defect.ford has refused to fix the issue even though it is clearly a negligence on the part of their manufacturing.

Paint bubbling on hood, appears to be a common problem, as i had same issue on my 07.

There is bubbling in the paint in the tip of the hood which i have been told is corrosion on the exterior and interior. Ford will not take care of it saying it is out of warranty. This is a manufacturer's problem as there are many complaints and class action lawsuit pending.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang gt. The contact stated that he noticed corrosion under the hood of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnosis and the contact was informed that because the hood was made of aluminum, it would need to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure and current mileage was 14,000.

Whenever i get heavy rainfall or take my car to a car wash i experience the unpleasant situation of having my passenger side front of the vehicle fill up with water. The first time it happened i attributed it to a freak thing. The next few times i started doing alittle internet research and found alot of other people have the same thing. I have gone back to the dealer and contacted ford motor company direct and still have no resolution to this problem. I feel that with so many people having this issue , ford should step up to the plate and fix this problem. I spent alot of money for the "car of my dreams" and now have to shop vac water out of it and ride around with the rug folded over to dry out the metal and rug underneath. My friend who also owns a 2005 mustang has to ride around with a pot on his floor to catch the water as it flows in! this is a disgrace as well as a health hazard from breathing in the mold fumes that the wet rug emits!

Hood on my 2006 ford mustang gt pulsates when driving on highway. Looks like it is going to blow off.

Front endnoise when at 5 mph over small bumps, from both sides passenger side and driver side. Took it to dealer and they said it was a loose stabilizer link and it was tightened. I drove of the lot with the same problem nothing was solved.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang gt. The contact stated that the vehicle was shaking abnormally while driving 25 mph. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic, who stated that the tracking bar was fractured in half. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 35,000.

At this point, there is no safety problem. But the symptom suggests the possibility. The symptom is a bird-like squeak in the right front suspension whenever the car encounters a slight upward bump. The dealer checked out the car and found nothing awry. Based on my own analysis i sprayed wd-40 into the tie rod and roll bar bushings and realized a short-term benefit (noise gone). But the noise is now back, and i fear that the cause is significant. I'll try again with more robust lubricants, but i still have a concern for the root cause.

-the contact stated that the 2006 ford mustang gt hadsuspension problems.each time he hit a series of pot holes in the road the vehicle made a loud thumping sound on the right front side of the vehicle. Also, the steeringhad more play, and sometimes it felt as if he was over steering.the contacttookthe vehicle back to the dealership, and they replaced the right front strut assembly.the contactfiled a complaint with the manufacturer, and was waiting for their response.the contact stated thatvehicle's current mileage was 8,000 miles.the failure mileage was 8 miles.

My mustang is leking water into the front passenger seat under the glove box. Not drips but buckets after a rain. There is also an adfiriomal leak into the trunk and back seat. Had seals and drains checkedno problem. After researching online there seems to be alot of people with this problem. I am unsure how long this has been going on. As i bearly drive this car.

Consumer complaint about ford motor company. Consumer states that while his vehicle was in the shop for a recall, the dealer did not give him a loaner car. Manufacturer told him they did not violate the federal standard. The manufacturer informed the consumer it was at the dealers discretion to provide a loner vehicle.

Purchased 2006 mustang gt june 2006. After running ac or heat for 30 minutes, hear water dripping on passenger dash area. No water on floor or glove box. Took it to ford dealer, they heard noise but could not find source. Taking it to another ford dealer to try and get it fixed.

To whom it concerns, back in october of 2013, i purchased a used, but very well kept, 2006 ford mustang gt premium. After a year or so, i experienced a problem that has left me afraid to drive the car. While slowly pulling into a parking space to park my car, ibrought the vehicle to a complete stop, about to shift into park, while my foot was still depressing the brake pedal, the engine began to throttle up overpowering the brakes causing the back wheels to spin and the car to move forward. The harder i pushed down the brake pedal, the more it throttled up until it shot me up and over the cement wheel stop in front of the parking stall and onto the grass median at which time i turned the ignition off and slammed the shifter up into park. I was dumbfounded! i thought maybe somehow when my foot was on the brake pedal, it was also catching the side of the accelerator pedal thus making it seem like the harder i pushed down on the brake pedal, the more the engine would throttle up as well. I eventually shook it off and went about my day. Three days later, while pulling into my brothers garage and again, coming to a complete stop, it throttled up again the same way and my brother was standing in front of the car. He thought i was playing until he saw the panic on my face. He no sooner jumped out of the way when the car shot forward almost hitting him! this continues to happen never knowing when or where. It also has done this while just slowing down to almost a stop. I contacted ford who claimed ignorance andwouldn't do anything to help. Looked online for others having this problem and found hundreds of posts, even law suites against ford. I noticed people describing the accelerator sticking or going to the floor. That can't happen, there's no cable connection to the throttle.electrical or computer defect in ford's drive by wire system. This needs to be fixed! help!

I was driving the car on a familiar narrow winding road, at approximately 25 mph, approaching a curve to the right, when it suddenly unintentionally accelerated. This sudden acceleration caused the car to plunge off of the side of the road, down a very steep bumpy hill several hundred feet before finally stopping. I was frantically applying the brakes, but they seemed noneffective. The car is totaled, there is property damage, i was charged with reckless operation, my back is injured. Now i am struggling to prove that none of this is my fault.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang gt.while proceeding froma stop lightthe accelerator pedal became stuck. The vehicle thenaccelerated over 100 mph.he had to reach down to separate the accelerator pedal from the floor-board. He was able to drive the vehicle to the dealershipfor inspection.the technician stated that it would cost $800.00 to repair the vehicle.the manufacturer was notified, but because the warranty was expired, he was not provided with any assistance. A mechanic speculated that the throttle body became jammed. No repairs were made. The current and failure mileages were approximately 46,000. The vehicle identification number was unavailable.

Vehicle continued to noticeably accelerate (without foot on accelerator) when attempting to brake from 35 mph. Continued strong pressure on brake as car continued to attempt to accelerate (engine revs continued to rise.) after car's brakes thankfully overpowered the acceleration and brought the car to a full stop, the unintended acceleration and motor revving stopped.

My ford mustang gt 2006 continue to accelerated even if my foot was on the brakes. This happen after i stop and press the gas.

This is the second time this has happened. My gas pedal has gotten stick to the floor and will not let up unless i shut the car off, wait about 10 seconds then start it up again. I'm not sure if it has something to do with the throttle body getting stuck open or what. It's pretty frightening. I'm almost scared to drive the car especially when i have the kids.

Was driving 60 mph on freeway..did a slight acceleration to get around a truck.the gas pedal went to the floor.the rpm's were up around 7000-8000, i hit close to 120 miles an hour, after less than a minute.i tried to get the pedal unstuck with my foot....no avail.. Then i poppedit into neutral and speed started to back off, with rpm's still racing.i pulled to side of road at about 35-40 mph and turned off car.i had to physically reach down and move rubber pedal to the side and pull metal part up.pedal seemed to work once i pried thegas pedal from the floor.i took it to the ford shop the next day and they said they never heard of that happening before.they blamed it on the floor mat and charged me 58.00.all indications on the engine were normal they stated.i know it was not the floor mat.am very worried about driving the car again.

I purchased the vehicle on saturday two days earlier, i drove to work then home approximately 130 miles went to dinner with a wife and friends. One of my friends from norway wanted ride in car and experience the power. Fortunately on a clear 6 lane highway i kicked it hard only the car continued to accelerate. The pedal functioned as normal returning to upright position. I kicked the pedal 8 or 9 times before the engine finally responded. It ruined a set brake pads. The dealer says that nothing is wrong with car - said the floor mat must have gotten stuck under the pedal. I said go look again when i bought the used car two days ago there are no floor mats in it. He had no further response. Second incident occurred today march 23, 2012 just over a year later basically a duplicate of the original. I think that these drive-by-wire cars have some serious issues regarding fail safe features of the components. I have experienced a number sticking throttles in my lifetime but at least when a mechanical linkage sticks there is an identifiable cause and remedy. This electronic crap and the lack of diginity by both the dealer and the manufacturer to respond to a serious safety concern is frightening.i bought ford's mustang to enjoy it - not be terrified that everytime i open the throttle that it may be my last. I have seen a number complaints on the various mustang forums as well as on this site maybe ford could at least honestly investigate the problem before someone is seriously injured or killed.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang gt.the contact stated that his vehicle is experiencing speed control failure.the failure caused him to crash into a fence after accelerating over a curb.the sudden acceleration occurred after he stopped at a stop sign to make a right turn.before crashing, the contact lost control and the vehicle made a 180 degree turn.the vehicle continued to accelerate even after he removed the key from the ignition.there were no injuries as a result of the crash.the contact's insurance company and ford both investigated the failure and stated that no visible failure could be found.the speed was unknown.the current and failure mileages were 18,536.

Unintended acceleration: twice in one year, vehicle continued to accelerate when foot was off the accelerator and foot was on the brake. Happened between 20-45 mph. Stock floor mats are in car. Driver was able to bring the car to a stop, but required much heavier than normal brake pressure. Vehicle being taken to ford dealer to diagnose. Additional posts on this same issue with this same model vehicle (both '05 and '06 model years) are located on this nhtsa complaint board. The likelihood that it is related to the vehicle being equipped with an electronic throttle appears to be a real possibility; would be highly beneficial for nhtsa to further investigate prior to accidents and injuries occurring.

I was on my way to work, turned a residential corner and accelerated to merge into traffic on a highway loop.within seconds, i realized the accelerator was not coming back up.it felt as though it had gotten stuck or sucked down into the floor board.my mind was racing--what to do!i depressed the brake but with me depressing the brakes and the accelerator racing the car, my car started to shake.my car is in excellent shape.other than a new battery, it is primo and has been babied!i saw a clearing in the traffic and headed to the shoulder of the road as not much further up the road was traffic at a stop light.i knew if i got up that far, an accident would occur.i had to steer away from traffic!i put it in 2nd, then 1st, while still depressing the brakes.it did slow it some and i came to a stop.i threw it into park, but it was still screaming and accelerating.my tires were smoking and i could smell them.i then turned the engine off and the nightmare ended.i am a 53-year old woman who loves my mustang, but i about died today and could have taken others with me.my daughter and friends came to my rescue.i started my mustang up about 15-20 minutes later and she was fine.i putted slowly down the road to the ford house and she is in the shop.diagnostics said it was the throttle body.$800.that is just money, but what to do now?do i keep her when she is fixed, could it happen again, or do i totally take the safe road and trade her in?i love my car, but i could have died today and taken someone else's loved one's with me.the thought of that has grieved me all day and i have been inconsolable.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang gt. The contact stated that as the vehicle was started and he shifted into drive, the engine exhibited an unusually high increase in rpms of 6,000. The accelerator pedal then independently engaged without application by the contact. The contact immediately shut off the engine and the vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnosis. The technician was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact stated the identical failure occurred two years prior. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was concerned with the safety risk involved during vehicle operation. The failure mileage was approximately 24,000.

2006 ford mustang gt for the last 12 months have been experiencing acceleration without applying gas pedal.happens when driving at low rates of speed.when remove foot from gas pedal to slow vehicle, the vehicle accelerates jumping from 500rpm to 1500+rpms.have to depress brake hard to keep vehicle from jumping forward.big problem when trying to come to a stop at intersections.have rearended vehicle in front because the mustang jumped forward after coming to a complete stop and removing foot from brake pedal.no injuries or damage to vehicle struck by the mustang.mechanic couldn't find any cause for the engine revving.this has gone from an occasional incident to an every day occurrence.

Sorry about wording you only get 2000 words to describe everything. Like you really want to know if your restricting the amount of words.

The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang gt.while accelerating from a stop, the contact gently applied pressure to the accelerator pedal.however, the vehicle began to accelerate unexpectedly at a higher rate.the vehicle was taken to the dealer, but they were unable to duplicate and determine the cause of the failure.the contact is in the process of notifying the manufacturer.the failure mileage was 7785 updated 4/14/09 the first two incident no cause was found. The last incident, the consumer rear ended the vehicle in front of her. She alsostated the air bag did not deploy.updated 04/17/09.

The vehicle was in motion on a city street. The accelerator was being depressed slightly to either maintain or slowly accelerate to a speed between 30-40 mph. The gas pedal then pressed to the floor on its own causing the engine to rev loudly and accelerate to beyond 50 mph on the first incident (nearly 70 on the second major incident). When the incidents occurred, there was nothing that could be done to stop the acceleration. Braking only slowed the rate of acceleration. Pressing in the clutch was ineffective. The incidents are random. No immediate cause has been determined. Both times, the driver and fellow drivers were endangered because of the lack of control caused by the incident. Thankfully, no crashes have ensued yet. Nothing short of turning off the engine entirely affects the incident as it occurs which causes further endangerment.this issue has occurred roughly 4 times in the span of one month's time. Two were minor cases in which the accelerator righted itself quickly. The other two were major incidents resulting in lack of speed and control of the vehicle.it is believed the issue is arising from the mechanical nature of the accelerator. Whereas most vehicles are a single piece pedal, this make/model/year is a two-piece mechanism.upon researching similar incidents, it has been made known that this issue arises in this make/model/year of the vehicle, as well as, some others. However, the company refuses to issue a recall to prevent further incidents which, quite frankly, is reckless endangerment on the part of the company.no repair invoices, police accident reports, insurance claim forms, etc. Have been filed as these incidents have only occurred over the course of the most previous month.this issue needs to be resolved promptly by the company.

At 12:00 pm my sister in law called me and said her 06 mustang gt was hesitating when accelerating, i advised her to bring it to my shop and i would check it out. I checked to see if any codes were set, and the codes were clear. I test drove the vehicle and when trying to accelerate, there was a 4-6 seconddelay between pushing on the accelerator pedal and the response of the engine accelerating. I turned right onto the main road of our test drive area and accelerated and the pedal went to the floor to full acceleration and the rear tires spun and the accelerator pedal would not return to the released position. I put the vehicle in neutral and shut down the engine and coasted back into my parking lot. I, at that point went to my office and called the local ford dealer and asked the parts manager if there were any problems with the sticking accelerator and he advised me that there was a recall on certain mustangs where they put a shield under the accelerator pedal, but this vehicle didn't fall into the v.i.n. Parameters. There were no additional mats other than the factory mat which is hooked into the mat hooks on the carpet and that there was plenty of clearance from the pedal to the mat. Personally it seemed like there is a problem with the drive by wire accelerator.if this would have happened to my sister, she would have been in an accident due to the problem. Please advise what we can do?
