Takata recalls: bought car at damerow ford in beaverton or under the contingency that a 100 point check was done on the 2005 ford mustang gt that i am writing about. As i drive cqr off lot i notice gas gauge is stuck on half a tank. I call them about it and their service department after finding out there is a recall.. And they have not returned my calls. This was in august 2017. Now it is january 2018 and the check engine light is on and i take car in to a trusted mechanic and they say i have a leak near my fuel pump. I look this up and it is again a recalled item for this year and make.i again call ford. No one returns my call. So i had to out of pocket to have this fixed. Please help.

Takata recall .the recall has been issued on june 1 2016 why is it that parts are not available 2 months later. This a hold up and prevents me from driving my vehicle. If they knew months before they should have been making new parts for the recall ahead of time so owners like myself would not have to wait so long for the vehicle to be fixed.

"takata recall" i have made several attempts to have the part replaced for the takata airbags at plattsburgh ford dealership in plattsburgh, ny 12901 but they claim the part is not available.

I received a recall notification.i took the affected vehicle to inver grove ford.they told me they didn't have the part and they would contact me when it became available.they never contacted me.

Takata recall nhtsa recall number:17v024recall incomplete. Remedy not yet availablethis recall has been in place for 11 months with no repair date given or developed.

Takata recall. I received a recall for my passenger air bag in july 1916. It is now june 2017 and replacement part is still not available. This delay in replacement partis totally acceptable, especially for a critical safety system.

Takata recall. The contact owned a 2005 ford mustang gt. While driving approximately 60 mph, the contact's vehicle was struck by another vehicle on the passenger side. The contact's vehicle crashed into a guardrail. The air bags did not deploy. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 15v319000 (air bags) and 16v384000 (air bags); however, the remedy was not available. A police report was filed. The contact sustained injuries to the left leg and bruises to the chest, arms, and legs, which required medical attention. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to an impound yard. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. The vin was not available.

The ford recall due to possible safety issues with the takata airbags is quite restrictive and not appropriate to this matter.i purchased my car in hawaii and since 2005, have lived in southern california, southern arizona and new mexico.nevertheless, when i made the appointment with a ford dealership in new mexico, even though i listed the reason for my requested service, i only was told about this restriction after driving to the dealership.i would have been willing to pay a nominal fee to have these airbags replaced but the service department was unwilling to listen.this is the second "safety" matter for this car that has been raised by ford that they have refused to address (the first being a front suspension matter) and i'm not pleased.it is unacceptable and if the nhtsa is having hearings on this matter, i would encourage the committee to consider expanding the ford recall to all cars with these airbags.

Takata recall: i received recall notice for passenger airbag replacement in july 2016. The dealership has yet to receive the necessary part as of may 10, 2017.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2005 ford mustang gt. The contact stated that the manufacturer took more than six months to supply the part for the driver's side air bag recall. The contact later received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v384000 (air bags) and stated that the part was not available within a reasonable time frame to schedule the recall repair. The dealer (stuart powell ford lincoln mazda, 225 s danville bypass, danville, ky 40422, (859) 236-8917) indicated that the part may become available in february of 2018. The manufacturer was contacted and could not provide an estimated date for when the vehicle would receive the recall repair. The contact was not experiencing a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available. Updated 8/3/18

Unable to trade out of my car because of safety recall. Notice was given in may and it's now almost october. Contacted ford 9-16-15 with no help given. No deadline provided. I'm trapped in a car i can't get rid of. Expected at a minimum ford would purchase back.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2005 ford mustang gt. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 15v319000 (air bags) and 16v384000 (air bags). The part was not available within a reasonable time frame to schedule the recall repair.the dealer did not give a specific date for when the part would become available. The manufacturer could not provide an estimated date for when the vehicle would receive the recall repair. The contact was not experiencing a failure. Parts distribution disconnect. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

The car was involved in a one vehicle accident hitting a guard rail on an interstate at 60 mph. It was pretty much a head on collision. The car stopped immediately when hitting the fifth post of the guard rail, stood the car up on its nose, spun around about 360 degrees before landing on the tires. During this time the air bags never deployed or the passenger seat belt caught. The passenger was bounced all around the car. The passengers of the car were looking straight down at the road when the car was spinning on the nose. Now, by god's grace only, these passengers were not extremely injured and was it a fatal impact. However, if the safety features of the car worked properly, less injury would have been experienced. The could have easily rolled and if so, the air bags would have been a necessity of security precautions. Ford should be held accountable for all the mustangs experiencing air bag and seat belt problems. I purchase a vechile with the safety options has a main decision of choice. If the safety is not there, you are purchasing a "product" of death.

Takata recall,i am in florida in the most urgent recall zone, but ford keeps telling me they still don't have the parts to fix my airbag.i have not been driving the car because i am worried since car is 12 years old.is it true that parts are not available?i ask every few months.the last letter i received was july of 2016.

"takata recall" in december 2015 ford issued a takata airbag recall for my car they repeated that recall again in december 2017 with a warning that no passengers should travel in the car until corrected - from 2015 until now no parts are available to make the repair according to ford - seems assinine that a recall of this importance should take over two years to resolve. Seems ford is not attempting to really address the problem - i have written them with no response.

Takata recall neither the driver nor passenger airbags deployed when in my accident with my girlfriend at the time, (she's now my wife) we swerved to miss a deer and slid off the road into a field and flipped into a river. At no point did any airbags deploy.

Takata recall:no dealers have replacement available

Takata recallmanufacturer recall number 16s26nhtsa recall number 16v384i never received notification to bring my vehicle in and get this recall fixed.

I have been contacting my local ford dealer, throughbred ford for the last year to have my airbag recall addressed and they keep telling me the parts are not available. I'm afraid to drive the car since it is not safe. It's ridiculous that i have been trying to get me car fixed for over a year.

Received letter from ford saying parts are available for recall 15s21 nhtsa recall 15v-319 but been contacting two local ford dealers(al packer pulaski hwy baltimore md and norris ford, merritt blvd, baltimore md)for 5 weeks and they say they are on order.

Takata airbag.premier ford in brooklyn does not have the replacement part, and does not offer loaners. I have tried several timesi hope this airbag does not explode on my passenger.

Takata recall, this recall is putting my family in grave danger, with the longer it takes

Takata airbag - i received a recall notice in march of 2017, it is now december, and when i called the dealer, they are doing nothing, as parts or repairs have not yet been received or authorized.it was in for a previous recall a year earlier for the takata airbags but this is another follow up to replace the whole airbag, not someminor parts as previously.

"takata recall"it has been over a year since i was made aware of this recall and i have not received any information as to when this problem will be addressed!is there still a problem with the passenger airbag?if so, when will this situation going to be addressed?

The contact owns a 2005 ford mustang gt. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 14v802000 (air bags) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.updated 04/04/16*ljthe consumer stated the vehicle was repaired. Updated 04/05/16.

Takata airbag passenger

Takata recall: i received a notice several months ago informing me that the passenger frontal inflator could rupture if my vehicle was involved in a crash where the frontal airbags are designed to deploy. I was told i would receive further instructions once the parts were received. I have yet to receive any more instructions. I am about to take a cross country trip with this vehicle and would greatly appreciate having this matter resolved prior to starting this trip, and endangering my passenger.

In july 2015 i received a notice of the takata recall on my 2005 ford mustang gt. I called the local dealer in november 2015 and he said that the replacement air bags were still not available. This has been almost 5 months and still no replacements.what is the federal gov. Doing to speed this up.

Takata recall:i am still waiting for the repairs to take place! i am planning a 2,000 mile trip this coming october and am leery about driving a car that has faulty airbags!i.ve been waiting for two years now!

Takata recall-ford does not have the replacement parts for the passenger side airbag...tried to make an appointment at future ford of concord.

All defective takata airbags should be replaced. Currently nhtsa has only recalled cars sold or registered in fl, ha, puerto rico, & u.s. Virgin islands. It has been well documented that people have been severely injured and killed due to the defective takata airbags in some of the remaining 48 states. Nhtsa failure to recall all the defective takata airbags leaves everyone in 48 states exposed to the risk of severe injury and death due to a known product defect. All defective takata airbags should be replaced immediately!!!!! cc: us atty gen, mi atty gen, ks atty gen, ks us senators, ks us congressional reps, ford, all media.

Takata recall.in july 2016 my husband received recall notice 16s26 on our mustang's passenger side air bag.the notice stated that when parts became available we would be notified. One year later we are still waiting.i understand that this is a wide spread problem.but waiting one year seems excessive.

Almost 1 year has passed and there is no solution yet.

Takata inflators. I have been waiting & waiting. Finally, i recieved a notice from ford motor company that the repair is available & to contact the dealer for the repair.i did, however, the dealer politely informed me that they do not know why ford would send out these notices when in fact, they still do not have the parts. Extremely frustrating for all parties involved. It has been over a year now & still unable to use the vehicle.

No ford service departments have the necessary parts to rectify he issue with the air bag inflaters.

I received a safety recall notice (15s21/nhtsa recall 15v-319) in july 2015. I call the ford dealership on a regular basis and am told each time that ford is waiting for parts. This recall involves unsafe air bags. I beleive that 5 months is way too long to have to wait for parts to fix a dangerous and life threatening defect. Please assist.

Takata recalltakata is filing for chapter 11.my dealership does not have parts for my car and can't get them because of the chapter 11 , so that means i can't drive my car with a passenger without risking the life of the passenger. The driver side has been replaced.

Air bag replace inflator need one more for passenger seat

The contact owns a 2005 ford mustang gt. The contact received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 16v384000 (air bags). The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time to repair the vehicle. The dealer (shenandoah ford, 9135 winchester road, front royal, virginia 22630) was contacted and confirmed that parts were not available to perform the recall repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Highway crash at 75 mph. The mustang hit a vehicle that jumped the median . No airbag deployment .i never had a warning light or any indication that the srs system was at fault .this mustang had a full frontal impact .i did contact ford about this issue and i was told { you can't afford to litigate a case against us}i would have to prove that if the airbags did deploy my injury's would of been less serious .i did brake my neck from the impact .i'm sure the airbag would have helped me...

Takata recall

2005 ford mustang gt.consumer writes in regards to airbag recall notice 15v-319.the driver's air bag inflator was replaced.

Takata recall still has no remedy and tk holdings inc. Has filed chapter 11 bankruptcy. Now what?

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2005 ford mustang gt. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v384000 (air bags) however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time as the recall notice was received over three months ago. The dealer (childre ford, 1207 s harris st, sandersville, ga 31082) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact received a postcard from tk holdings, alerting him that they filed for bankruptcy. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

Ray skillman ford says they can not replace the airbag "takata recall"

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2005 ford mustang gt. The contact received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 16v384000 (air bags). The vehicle was purchased at shamaley ford (11301 gateway blvd w, el paso, tx 79936, (915) 591-8600). The dealer kept sending emails concerning the recall campaign, but they stated that the part was not available and did not know when it would arrive. The contact called two other dealers: casa ford (5815 montana ave, el paso, tx 79925, (915) 779-2272) and viva ford (5550 n desert blvd, el paso, tx 79912, (915) 834-2800) and was informed that they did not know when parts would be available. The three dealers made no mention of a loaner vehicle option. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Takata recall - dealer states that parts are not available, its been a year at least.with no fix available i am uncomfortable with my family riding in the vehicle.how about a buy back?

Re: nhtsa recall 16v-384: in july 2016 ford announced a recall but never had the parts ready. In december 2017 ford sent a letter stating that they are still waiting for the parts. They also suggest not to use the passenger seat until the problem is fixed. This is a joke. If that issue is so relevant to security, how can ford afford to do nothing over an 18 month period. Also, how can they suggest that we not use the passenger seat (other than to cover legal exposure). Are we supposed to buy another car to be able to travel together??

The contact owns a 2005 ford mustang gt.while driving 35 mph, the contact's vehicle was struck on the front driver side door.the air bag deployed and broke her wrist in eight places.the skin was burned off of her other arm.seven pins and rods had to be inserted in her wrist, but it still cannot be moved.the vehicle was destroyed and a police report was filed.the contact has pictures.on february 27, 2008, she saw a newscast stating that there would soon be a safety recall on the harsh deployment of the air bag and the failure to comply with fmvss.the powertrain, engine size, and vin were unknown.the current and failure mileages were 31,000.

Entire instrument cluster stopped working except for digital readout. The interior floods with water when it rains.

Most gauges are out had thisprob for a while no temp reading no fuel reading now ttach is about to say good bye i wish ford will acknowledge this is a drivability prob and very expensive to fixthanks for your timeit happens in motion or stationary

Gauges don't work properly.can't tell how fast you are going, what your oil pressure is, how much fuel you have etcit's a safety issue

Although car is 7 years old, mileage was only 18000+ when alternator needed replacing - $620.out of warranty so no help from ford or dealer.other out-of-warranty issues include both interior door panels coming loose - upholstery shop had to glue them back on - $160., and a canister vent valve had to be replaced - $310.dealer also unable to cure boxcar-like ride.

On this day the oil temperature gauge stopped functioning correctly. In the following months the rpm gauge, the fuel level gauge, and speedometer have stopped functioning correctly and read the wrong information.

Speedometer reading failure - gauge show 60mph at a standstill and maintains a similar margin while driving.upon reading numerous online forums, i've realized that i am one of many experiencing this issue and was directed to file a complaint here.

Since the car has had around 45000 miles on it i began having intermittent electrical issues. Speedometer, wipers, instrument cluster, brake lights, head lights, and blinkers all stop working while driving. I am forced to shut the ignition off while driving and recycle the key just to get the blinker work and then shut it off again to turn it off! doors will no longer lock or unlock and cannot pop the trunk using fob. The electrical panel on the floor of the passenger side is clicking and i have read hundreds of complaints on the internet about this water leakage issue. How many people need to die before someone holds this manufacturer responsible? this has been a known issue for over 8 years and nothing has been done. Does someone need to be killed when my brake lights fail to illuminate before you take action?

The instrument cluster on my '05 gt stopped working.it will sometimes show that i am driving at 120 mph when i am in first gear and in my driveway.other times it goes 25 mph on the freeway in fifth gear.this is a serious safety issue as you never know how fast you are driving.

Speedometer and rpm gauges faulty. Speedometer starts at 140 when vehicle is stopped and climbs till it is vertically facing down. Rpm gauge does not work.

All of the gauges in the gauge cluster have stopped working correctly, the speedometer registers over 80 mph when driving 20 mph. Gas gauge was the first gauge to start acting weird and now the gas and all other gauges do not register correctly. This seems to be a common problem and a safety hazard for this year model and a recall for the gauge cluster needs to be in order for all 2005 mustang owners.

At around 60k miles, my speedometer and temperature gauges quit working.ford dealer says i have to replace the entire instrument panel at over $1,000.

The contact owns a 2005 ford mustang gt. The contact stated that while the vehicle was being serviced at a dealer, the technician discovered that the air conditioner emitted a harmful gas into the cabin. As a result, the contact sustained sensations of lightheadedness, severe headaches and heart palpitations that required medical attention. The dealer advised the contact not to activate the air conditioner to avoid further health issues. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 38,200.

My vehicle's instrument cluster including the speedometer, tachometer, fuel, and temperature gauges either do not work at all or are erratic.inarguably, these gauges are essential to the safe operation of a motor vehicle.after doing internet research, i was shocked to learn that thousands of other owners of this same vehicle are having or have had the same problem.when i contacted ford about this unsafe product failure, i was even more shocked to learn that although literally thousands of its customers have had this same problem with the same make and model vehicle and have called ford to complain about it, no recall has been issued.because of the pervasiveness of this problem, a recall is long overdue.when is the nhtsa going to take action?

Dt*: the contact stated while driving 3 mph at night in the rain, the entire electrical system failed, except for the center brake light.all the lights, the radio , the outlets, and the electric windows failed simultaneously.this was accompanied by all the engine warning lights on the dashboard illuminating, as well as the digital readout giving warning messages.the contact depressed the brake, and everything worked again.the battery was disconnected briefly, which made everything function intermittently upon reconnecting it.the battery was disconnected a second time for a few hours, which fixed the problem.the vehicle was not seen by a dealer.

Driving on highway 55mph, car shut down and could not restart. Towed to shop, they say needs a new computer. $1,300.00 repair.they car is 8 years old and only has 9100 miles on it.

The cluster electrical gauge panel has slowly stopped working. First the speedometer started spinning over 360 degrees, then the tachometer went, followed by the temperature gauge, and now intermittently the oil pressure gauge. On-line research suggests this is a frequent issue mainly involving the 2005 mustang year. Ford has refused issue a recall and has declined to fix the problem once the vehicle has passed the warranty period (the issue almost always develops after the warranty period expires).ford has charged some an exorberent $800 fee to fix the panel. Obviously, it is an issue driving without a speedometer, temperature gauge, and oil pressure gauge (the tachometer nonwithstanding).to have a major electrical system issue in a statisically significant number of vehicles of the same make and same calendar year seems to warrant more integrity on the part of ford in admitting a technical flaw and graciously offering to repair it.

Took 2005 mustang in for servicing and the horn not working.after finding the horn, fuse and box was working ok, they needed to extra work to find out why it would not work from the steering wheel.$200 more for testing, they said the wiring harness box was corroded.for another $200 they need to do a water leak check to find where water was going to the wiring harness.it would cost between $3,000 to $4,000 for new box, wiring harness and labor.would have to gut out the car, take out dash, seats, doors, trunk.they are not sure if it would be under warranty, depends on what part is making it leak.they could not tell me what part would not be covered under the warranty.i am taking it to another dealership for a 2nd opinion tomorrow.they also said if i did not get this taken care of, the car electrical system would shut down one by one.

No crashes, speedometer erratic reading.sometimes reads high, sometimes low, will not return to zero position.sometimes sticks at the 40mph mark, can only be reset by turning the ignition off then on.filed complaint with ford, as well as here at urging of service writer at ford dealer, who advised me that this is a well known problem.

2005 mustang gt gauges not working right gas hand read wrong,so does the heat hand speedo.

2005 roush mustang gt sport. Manual transmission. Only 24,000 miles. Collector condition. Instrument cluster issue. Tachometer stopped working. Fuel gauge intermittent. Temperature gauge intermittent. Speedometer still working.

Nothing on the instrument cluster works properly. It started out with the gas gauge needle pointing at 6:00 then the speedometer started reading 110 mph when i was going 40 mph (by my gps) and now the tachometer reads 1500 rpm's to low. Now all 6 gauges have gone haywire! i now have no idea if the car is over heating or if the alternator isn't working or if the oil pump died. This is a big safety concern! with so many issues happening to so many people,i believe the manufacturer should step forward and fix this.

The contact owns a 2005 ford mustang gt. The contact stated that the instrument panel failed. The dealer was contacted but the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was also contacted but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was unavailable. The failure mileage was 42,000.

I was at a stop sign... While driving in first gear about to switch to second... The car rpm redline.. Everyone who has this car manual knows that this car chirps 2nd gear with or without tcs on... It was like power shifting without using the gas pedal.. The car was sideways.. Brakes wouldn't work.. Tried to get the car straight again but the car whipped around the other way and did a 180... Long story short.... Totaled!!!

I recently purchased a 2005 model mustang gt from jim skinner honda in dothan alabama.the vehicle has a significant water leak into the passenger floorboard and into the smart junction box area.the water penetrates into the wiring harnesses and box itself.being that most operations on this vehicle are electronically controlled it is my opinion (mechanic) that water intrusion into this area could cause an engine failureand has caused lighting malfunctions on the taillights of the vehicle.when raining the vehicle typically experiences electrical ghosts of various sorts.also the vehicle would not start during some heavy water intrusion instants.but given time this problem can and will lead to a fire or a electrical malfunction causing a crash and/or death.

I got the car @42,500 or so miles. There was a bad puddle of water after it rained. Near the smart junction box is where it appears to be getting in. I have read alot of complaints online about this issue. For sure a defect that ford should fix... As another person on this site mentioned, i am sure that major electrical damage could potentially take place (i forced myself to cover the car at all times). The gas tank is difficult to fill up all the way. I cannot simply pull the gas pump "trigger" and lock it. The pump stops, due to the trigger being "tripped" (as if the tank was full). So i have to hold down the trigger again (the fuel pump usually gets "triggered" 20 times per every filling of the tank). Super annoying and a known defect that needs a new gas tank to be corrected. How does ford not correct this?

My car is a 2005 mustang gt with only 20250 miles.i usually keep it in the garage, mainly driving on pleasant weekends.on wednesday the 11th, i was driving in a heavy rain when the car suddenly lost almost all electrical components (i.e. No power to any lights, radio, power windows, door locks etc.).all of the idiot lights came on indicating failure across the board.the traction control was also turned off.when i got it home, i noticed that the passenger side carpet was wet.i opened the passenger side access panel and discovered water dripping from the gem (generic electric module).the unit had obviously shorted out causing the problems (confirmed by web research at several mustang web sites).neither the dealership or ford will pay for the repair because the car is 5 years old, even though it has low mileage.the extended warranty i purchased does not cover this damage either.searching ford's tsbs, revealed a tsb on the water problem, but nothing on the gem.ford is aware of the situation, based on other complaints, but has not recalled the vehicle.the vehicle is in the process of drying out and has not been repaired.estimated cost is around $1000.00i believe this is a critical issue.had this problem occurred during nighttime i would have been instantly blind due to the loss of headlights, and hidden from other drivers due to lack of rear lights and turn indicators.with the loss of traction control while driving in the rain, the chance of loosing control of the vehicle is an increaseddanger to the occupants, other drivers, pedestrians, and property.this car should be recalled.

After heavy rain for a couple weeks. I was driving strait, in the rain on a city street. I noticed my radio turned off. Then also noticed my headlights and blinkers were also not working. After reaching my destination before it got too dark i stopped and tested all lights including brake lights. All of the exterior lights weren't working, the gas light came on (although i had atleast a half tank) tcs light and also the emergency brake light were on in the instrument panel. After parking the mustang in the garage for a couple weeks until i had time to check the status of the car. I noticed the floor of the cab (passenger side) was damp. The car battery was dead (less than a year old, red top optima) and there was mold actually growing in parts of the interior of the car. I did some research regarding this issue and found it common from a failed plug under the windshield wipers next to the a/c filter. Causing the water to fill up between the firewall and the engine compartment, and ultimately leaking inside the cab onto the sjb (smart junction box) located directly behind the firewall on the passenger side. I am very concerned for this safety issue for it can cause a serious accident if electronics fail while driving and also the fact that there is mold growing in my car from this issue. This is a common problem and needs addressed immediately

I own a 2005 mustang gt coupe 5-speed which has been garaged since it was picked up from my local ford dealership. At time of incident it had 29,*** miles. The car was only hand washed and in only a handful of rainy days. During the winter months the car gets taken off full coverage insurance and covered. When spring time arrived it was uncovered and ready to be on the road again. The car started up as it would when running it though the winter. Unfortunately the car was left uncovered in a rainstorm shortly after. The next day when it was started the cluster gauge went out. White smoke began to come up and out from under the dashboard. The extreme smell of electrical fire was present. The car was turned off and fuses inspected. There was dampness within the passenger side carpet. So, i then checked the smart junction box* located in the passenger side kick panel. It had a thin white sheet of foam covering it which looked odd to me. I saw that the fuse responsible for the cluster gauge had burnt up and broke. I replaced it with the same amp fuse and it popped then smoke once again came out from the dashboard and the same electrical smell followed. Not one light or needle works on the gauges other than the yellow airbag light which remains on. Traction control button, reverse lights, door/light chime, and ac do not work. Tsb 08-26-7 report exists about the issue. The dealership that the car was purchased wont honor their role in this issue. I called ford motor company directly and they had a supervisor call me a few days later. The supervisor stated i am responsible for paying to have the car diagnosed and fixed. Ford obviously knows of the issue which is why they put a "band-aid" of a sheet of foam to try to keep water that they knew would leak onto the sjb. The tsb report was created because there have been so many problems due to the leak. It's been months of researching. Ford should issue a warning that their cars will have a major electrical failure if rained on.

The contact owns a 2005 ford mustang gt.while driving between 35-45 mph in light rain, the entire instrument panel and exterior lighting failed without warning.in addition, the front driver's and passenger side floor areas accumulated an excessive amount of water leakage.water entered into the fuse panel.the contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road, where it was towed to an authorized dealer for diagnostic testing.the technician stated that the failure was contributed to a cracked body torque seam.the vehicle was repaired at the cost of $900; however, the repair was not covered under warranty.the repairs consisted of replacing the smart fuse box, seals, and micro circuits.the failure mileage was 42,000 and current mileage was 45,092.

I have a 2005 ford mustang gt, and the speedometer is not working like is should.. It will show that i'm going 20mph, and sometimes it will just show 70mph at a dead stop..this has become a safety issue..because i just don't know how fast the car is going..

Problems with gauge cluster on my 2005 ford mustang gt...when it's cold the temp. Gauge does not register accurately and now the tachometer does not function correcty all the time.

This has been and still is a on going safety issue to me and the family.when driving, normally at a low speed the engine will "die", of course i lose all power to the steering, braking, etc.i make an attempt to start it, it will start but, when i try to move the vehicle, it dies again.this has happen to me in the middle of intersections, when i pull up to a red light, or behind a vehicle.i have no forwarning of the event about to take place.two weeks ago it occurred when my wife was driving and it took her about 40 minutes to get the car running.and yesterday while i was driving, after leaving my garage and drove less than 1/2 mile, the car stopped running, and i traveled about 2 miles and it stopped at least 5 times before i could park.we went shopping and came back out and it started and gave me no problem getting home.i have had it in the shop, r&r fuel tank, replaced fuel level sensor.was told by one of the technicians i should treat the fuel at lease every two tank fill ups.my concern is that this is going to occur and cause an accident and injury my family and/or other drivers.i have contacted ford and have been informed there is no recalls against the vin number.i can not believe i am the only mustang owner that is having the problem.

New car , failed to start numerous times, do not drive car every day as i commute, only drive on weekends. Try to start car after 1 1/2 weeks and had to jump start it . Called dealer and they said that because it has computerit will be constantly running and that is why it did not start. So after a few more times not starting i got a die hard battery, car has failed to start at least more than 3 times since. I hardly drive this car, purchased in 12/04 and it only has approx. 8000 miles. I should not have to worry about my car not starting after a few days of not driving. It has only been 5 days since i last drove and i have to jump it again.i am afraid to go anywhere with it. If i go away on vacation for 2wks , i have to worry about coming home to a car that will not start. I am taking to dealer to see what can be done.

Exiting the highway i 93 and entering i 95 s, there is a relative sharp corner to turn. Both my speedometer and tachometer showed incorrect speed and rpm and made me believe i was slowing down to a safe speed of 30 mph. However these gauges were not working and i was struggling to make the corner. I have had issues with the fuel, oil pressure and water temp gauges not working, but with tachometer and speedometer not working reliable i believe that it is notsafe to operate the vehicle. As a precaution, i am using my navigation system to know what actual speed i am going. Looking at the internet, i am finding lots of people complaining about the dial stepper motors not working correctly. It is a costly exchange of approximately $ 600 + labor and with ford knowing of the malfunctioning gauges and not warning consumers is really unacceptable to me. These clusters should be replaced at ford's expense and not at the consumer's. These gauges were designed to ensure safe and proper operation of the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2005 ford mustang gt. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, she noticed that the speedometer was reading an inaccurate speed of 65 mph. The contact drove the vehicle and parked it yet the speedometer continued to display 60 mph. The vehicle was not inspected or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and they informed the contact that they are not aware of any failures similar to hers. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.

During rain, the entire electrical system shut down. Radio, windows, headlights, taillights, turn signals, hazards, door locks, keyfob, fuel gauge, oil pressure, coolant temperature gauge, hand brake indicator, traction control system, brake switch (for taking car out of park), starter (once the car is turned off, it will not start again). Any substantial rain results in water pooling in passenger side foot area, and saturation of fuse box area, which provides concerns for a vehicle-wide loss of electrical power and brake/steering control. I have looked at several online owners' forums and there are numerous cases of this commonly-documented safety problem. At first the back up lights would flash on then go off when vehicle was placed in reverse and stay off even while still in reverse. The tach would show you doing about 800 rpm's no matter the speed and when i backed it in the garage after returning from ford, the tach showed 9000 rpm while in park and key off. Vehicle studders when driving like its starving for fuel, ford told me all of this is related to the sjb. They say it's corroded from coffee or some fluid getting on it. I have an extended warranty but they wont call it in because the text said it was coffee but would not say how the coffee got up behind the kick panel (pass side) under dash area. Ford has tsb 08-26-7, but wont repair at their expense and no recalls issued, even though it only occurs after the warranty expires.

The contact owns a 2005 ford mustang gt. The contact noticed that the speedometer was giving inaccurate speeds and would not remain at a constant speed. While traveling at 30 mph, the speedometer would read 80 mph. Also the fuel gauge was inoperable and she was unable to determine how much gas was in the tank. The contact did not inform the dealer or manufacturer and the vehicle was not inspected or repaired. The current mileage was 89,000 and the failure mileage was 79,000.

I currently own a 2005 mustang gt. I have several issues with my gauge cluster on my car. Speedometer is stuck at 40 mph, fuel gauge doesn't work, temp gauge works when it wants to, oil gauge isn't reading correctly low fuel light comes on when i don't need fuel. I contacted ford about the issue and they were no help. This is a safety concern. I don't know how fast im going. I don't know the temp of my motor. I don't know how much fuel i have. I have googled this issue and it seems that over a hundred other 2005 and 2006 mustang owners are having this same issue and ford isn't helping anyone. Ford should step up and help us mustang owners with these issues.

Design of the cabin air intake box and drain led to a back flow of water during a heavy downpour.this led to water flowing through the air ducts and into the passenger compartment behind the glove box.ford placed 4"x6" piece of foam over the smart junction box in an effort to "bandage the problem, rather than correcting the cause.as water entered the cabin area, it soaked the smart junction box to fail which may have been the proximate cause for the engine dying.end result is that the smart junction box must be replaced and programmed.

My instrument cluster failed due to the wiring in the dashboard from the factory was chafing on each other and shorted out.i first thought it was just a fuse but they kept blowing.so i brought it to one dealer they said the cluster needed replacement due to a short in it and would cost $600.00 because my warranty ran out in nov. 2007 but the car only has 28k on it, it's a pleasure car.i called ford care and they said since i have no service record with them there was nothing they could do for me.i brought the car next to my local mechanic and he ordered a new cluster through ford and brought it to a separate dealer where they found the wiring problem and also replaced the cluster costing me $591.00 plus the cost of the diagnosis from the first dealer of $177.00.i feel ford should still pay for these repairs due to the fact it came from the factory like this.

My first problem was when the gas gauge stopped working, thank goodness the low fuel light still works. Then the speedometer had days when it would not work, now it just stays on 40mph.next, the temp gage decided to stay on hot and now it just points straight down. Finally on my way home today, the tach stopped working!my car only has 48000 miles on it. I forgot there is one more problem, the driver seat controls still work but the panel has come loose from the seat. Who knew my dream car would be a nightmare.

The contact owns a 2005 ford mustang gt. While driving in rainy weather conditions approximately 40 mph at dusk, the entire instrument panel indicators and headlights failed. The contact drove onto the emergency lane for five minutes before the indicators and headlights began to operate. The contact saw water from the rain leaking onto the front passenger floorboard and on the electrical box. The identical failure occurred on a separate occasion. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the technician informed him that the vehicle exceeded the service warranty. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 71,100.

My 2005 ford mustang gt has seen first the fuel gauge fail ( june 2010) and now the temp gauge fail (dec 2010). Both either don't work at all or give faulty random readings. Numerous others have complained about the same issues for the 2005. Ford dealer admits that they (galpin ford, california) have seen this multiple times but refuse to make good on it.

I have replaced 2 batteries on my 2005 mustang. Dealer says there is always a small draw on battery even if nothing is plugged in. They have checked the alternator and it's ok. If i don't drive my car at least 2-3 times a week my battery always dies. The other day i shut my car off for about 20 minutes and it didn't want to start.

Issue 1 back when i had like 30k something brake cables freeze. Took it to ford dealer and told them but they had to bill me $120 to check it out and another $500 but didn't solve the problem issue 2 found out about the flooding when the drain plug clogged up at passenger side issue 3 alternator went bad as well as the batteryissue 4 vehicle started idle up and downissue 5 check engine came on and i got 5 check codesanother issue was i was driving pulled up to a stop light starting to move again put it in 1st gear and the vehicle didn't take same time it took like 3-4 second before i moved out.i then smell something burning like brake pad shreddingabs sensorsidle speedand other electrical problem.

Windshield wiper motor failure. First occurrence was sept 20 2007 was told the wiring had some corrosion on it and was replaced. March 27 2008 i experienceda stuck accelerator (another complaint filed) while getting on the freeway and car was towed to dealer, no wipers or radio after the accelerator problem. Dealer calls to say that the wiring had corrosion on it again. I've had 3 batteries in it due to a leaking windshield that leaked onto the fuse box and was shorting everything out.rear defrosterrepaired in april 2007 its not working properly again only clears partof the window. The car was bought new in 2005 andhas 6485 miles on it.the dealer gets to see the car almost everytime i drive it. This is getting ridiculous.

Serious leaking issues on new fords model 05 through 08.my brand new car had leaking under the floorboard which caused black mold and other mold to grow causing health and other problems. It has also caused electrical problemsin other fords. Brake lights malfunctioning, possible air bag malfunctions. Ford knows of the issue and is not having a re-call.

Intermittent speedometer failure began at about 50k miles.once the car stops and is restarted it seems to reset itself.recently at 73k miles the oil pressure gauge stopped working and has not worked for the past 2 months.

This is a huge issue that needs to be resolved a.s.a.p.i have seen and talked to many owners with this dangerous issue i have no clue how fast i am going the instrumental cluster tells me 30 mph but im flying by cars on the freeway , but its not just the mph, the hole cluster is erratic the needles are pointed left past the red zone some are pointed all the way right and some aren't even working .ford is going to have a law suit in its hands very soon ifthis is not resolved with a recall for all 2005 mustangs.i went to the dealer and they said that the problem was the instrumental cluster. And that it was not covered by warranty he said it would be around $600.00 . I told him that there was no way i was going to pay 600.00 dollars for something that was done by ford and not me.i guess the only way they will take this issue seriously is if someone get hurt or killed. Its sad but true.

I own a 2005 mustang gt, v8.three weeks ago my speedometer stopped working on a three hour trip.upon starting the car the next day it appeared to work fine.however, that did not last long.in trips around town i could not really tell if it was working properly.on a four hour trip in the mountains of virginia the speedometer was acting up again.while driving what i thought was 70 mph {the cruise was set} i was stopped by a state highway patrol who first clocked me at 80 mph but when i passed him he clocked me a 84mph.he was in plain view so i was not concerned as the speed limit was 70.as anyone that owns this car knows it drives and handles so great you don?t realize you are going that fast.after this i took my car into the dealership.i was told they must replace the instrument cluster.cost to repair $650+. After reading other reports it appears ford has a problem with the 2005 mustangs.this is a serious problem and will eventually cause a death or serious injury. The mustang has always been known for its integrity; therefore, ford should do the right thing and do a recall for this problem before they are in the news for deaths, injuries, lawsuits, etc ruining the name of the finest sports car in history.my mustang only had 51,020 miles on it when this started three weeks ago.

Speedometer reading failure - gauge show 60mph at a standstill and maintains a similar margin while driving.upon reading numerous online forums, i've realized that i am one of many experiencing this issue and was directed to file a complaint here.

The instrument cluster in my 2005 ford mustang gt no longer works.first the fuel gauge stopped reading property, then the speedometer would read 100 + while going about 40 and continued to be erratic until the needle ended up pointing straight down.the same thing then happened with the tach.this all occurred just after 30,000 miles.i have researched the issue on line and there are numerous reports of this issue.

My speedometer and tachometer stopped working around 45000 miles.i took this to the ford dealership as there is numerous complaints online about this problem expecting this to be fixed.they said it was uncommon and i was out of warranty and would have to pay for this. This should be a recall by ford for repair.

Speedometer erratic and not calculating correct speeds.more erratic in cold climate.when the car is started the speedometer is at 20mph, drive the car it gets stuck on 50mhp, and continues to rise.at times the speedometer works in warm weather, but i have to try to reset it to zero before i begin driving.i see a lot of complaints regarding the speedometer in the mustang forums and see no resolve to the issue.i contacted the ford motor company, and they say there are no recalls.there is obviously an issue with the speed sensors, or the speedometer needle itself.this to me is a serious safety concern.this issue continues to occur daily.the issue started some time ago, but i am reporting now since there is no resolve from the ford motor company to fix the issue.

I have a 2005 mustang gtthat when temperature drops below 50 my speedometer will stay at different speeds when i am at 0. Sometimes 40 70 when i am stopped. When you turn off key restart car it will usually drop gauge 5 to 10 mph. I have been reading online of numerous gauge failures on this year model. Sometimes my gas gauge will not work properly.

The contact owns a 2005 ford mustang gt. The contact stated that when he started the vehicle he noticed that the speedometer, and the rpms were given an incorrect reading of zero. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who advised that the instrument panel cluster board failed and it was replaced. The failure and the current mileages were 49,289.

I am having problems with my speedometer.the needle on the speedometer often gets stuck at a certain speed and willnot move when i accelerate.it also starts at 60 and 80 mph as if it were 0.when this happens the needle goes the max distance as if i were driving 100+ mph.

The contact owns a 2005 ford mustang gt.since november of 2008, the instrument panel has failed to work properly.there were no prior issues with the vehicle.the rpm, fuel, and speedometer dials display inaccurate readings.the contact feels that these failures are due to a manufacturer defect.the failure mileage was 19,762.

Dt*: the contact stated while driving 50 mph in the rain and shifting from 3rd to 4th gear, the rear of the vehicle began to hydroplane.the contact let up off the gas, and steered into the skid.the steering did nothing.the vehicle spun 180 degrees, which forced the contact to attempt to turn the vehicle in a complete circle.the accelerator pedal was applied to attempt to recover, however the traction control prevented the contact from correcting the skid.the vehicle went over an embankment and became lodged in roadside mud.the manufacturer was notified.

The vehicle began stalling at low speeds, in traffic, at red lights/stop signs and while turning. Several very close calls to date. You must restart engine during a turn often with other motorists bearing down on you. There are many complaints on this site and when you do a search on the internet. The dealership is also aware of it because they tell you right away that you will need a $500.00 part to fix it and that does not include labor. I have also been told by a few mechanics that this used to be solved by replacing the idle air control switch, about a $40.00 part. That part is not offered with this year and model but it comes on the $500.00 part.

After coming to a stop, i try to accelerate and the car stalls and jerks into gear. I was told that the throttle was dirty. I had it cleaned and got a new air filter but was still experiencing the same problem. The next step was to replace throttle sensor. The mechanic advised to check the recall list and i several people who experience the same problem with no help from ford. I saw this site and decided to post.

Totaled!!!

Gas pedal or throttle sticks.ford will not fix.

The contact owns a 2005 ford mustang gt. While traveling 35 mph, the contact lost control of the vehicle as it stalled without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vin was not available. The current and the failure mileages were 32,000.

The contact owns a 2005 ford mustang gt.the contact heard an unfamiliar noise and three of the four tires blew out.after a diagnosis, she was informed that the lower ball joints were faulty.the lower ball joints were repaired; however, the check engine light illuminated two days later.the vehicle was taken back to be repaired and she was informed that the throttle body sensor failed.the contact referenced nhtsa campaign id number 06e089000 (suspension:front).the current mileage was 38,000 and failure mileage was 25,000.

Problems with gauge cluster on my 2005 ford mustang gt...when it's cold the temp. Gauge does not register accurately and now the tachometer does not function correcty all the time.

Engine will cut-out/hesitate under acceleration or during steady driving. Almost caused collision entering interstate highway. This is an on going problem not an isolated incident. 2005 mustang gt with only 13,000 miles.

Gauges don't work properly.can't tell how fast you are going, what your oil pressure is, how much fuel you have etcit's a safety issue

Many of the complaints already filed are mine.the gas tank on my 2005 mustang gt will not take fuel, spits back (ruining a good wax job), and is extremely inconvenient to fill in cold weather due to having to spoon feed gasoline into the tank.i started complaining 6 years ago when i purchased the vehicle new, but the dealer and ford both say it's not a problem - that this is just characteristic of this car.the newer fuel tank was installed, but did not help the situation.i will never purchase another new ford because of the give-a cr#&*p attitude of both dealer and company!this is a safety and epa issue because i normally leave raw gasoline on the parking lot of the service station.i have accidentally stepped in the spilled gas and dragged it onto my carpets.this car still has under 24,000 miles on it, and i am sick of it.

When fueling car, the gas pump immediately turns off and gas leaks out of tank.this is a repeat of same issue that was to have been resolved with tsb fix completed on the car 5/2/07.

I cannot fill the gas tank due to a "bubble" inside when the tank is 1/4 or less full.dealer reported to replace the tank, but i have had issues for 3 + years.dealer will not stop this issue.

Fuel tank is hard to fill.i was told that my dealer replaced the tank with a "newer" version to prevent the air lock, but i bought this car new in jan '05, and the problem persists with no help from ford.

After coming to a stop, i try to accelerate and the car stalls and jerks into gear. I was told that the throttle was dirty. I had it cleaned and got a new air filter but was still experiencing the same problem. The next step was to replace throttle sensor. My 2005 mustang gt on occasions the fuel gauge will drop to empty and i will get a message of low fuel.at times it will go back to the normal position but most of the time i must restart the car for the fuel gauge to return to normal.this occurs perhaps 3-4 times per week.

Just bought car1 month ago and there are several technical service bulletins on my 2005 ford mustang gt. All of which my car is experiencing. Hesitation on acceleration , loud knocking noise from under hood at low speed turns , extremely difficult to pump gas , pre-mature automatic shut-off , most of which pose safety issues . I called then 48 hours after buying car to ask can i bring it back to repair which they quoted me 2000.00 for a differential issue on a car that has 17,646 miles. Called ford relations they said im responsible for all repair costs even though they are listed as manuf. Defects.. Since they are tsb and not "outstanding recalls" they can't help.

Cannot fill fuel tank.the pump shuts off very quickly after attempting to fill. Ford has said that it is a flow problem on the fuel pumps.their solution for the problem is to replace the gas tank.my car already has the updated tank and i still can't put gas in it.the dealer said there hands are tied by the manufacturer since the car is under warranty.

Vehicle has tsb for tank belching fuel out of the tank and or early fill up shut off. Tsb performed and this is still an issue not only does the filler click off constantly but many times is spews fuel from the filler when this happens same as before the tsb was done.

Many 2005 and newer ford mustangs are having difficulty when filling the fuel tank.it is very slow to fill, often taking more than 20 minutes to completely fill.you have to manually dispense the fuel into the tank, as even the first detent on the handle from the pump causes the pump to auto shut off.many times the tank will overflow, spilling fuel onto the ground, because there is no auto shut off when trickling fuel into the tank.i have had my gas tank replaced under warranty, and the problem still exists.ford says that this is a normal characteristic of the car, and they are not going to fix my problem.other mustang owners have been told the same thing.this has been a problem since i purchased the car.with thousands of 2005 and newer ford mustangs on the road, this can be a potential epa issue with all the spilled fuel.not only is this a huge inconvenience for all mustang owners, it is a safety issue.it is not normal for any car to not take fuel.many owners have resorted to turning the nozzle upside down to try and trick the fuel tank, so it will accept the fuel.i have to deal with this problem every week when i refuel.with temperatures below zero and strong wind gusts, it is dangerous to stand outside and monitor the gas pump.

The contact owns a 2005 ford mustang gt. The contact stated that the fuel tank could not filled all the way and only allowed half a tank of fuel. The contact purchased the vehicle from an individual thirty days ago. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.

2005 ford mustang - occasionally driven car - driving on a 2 lane road, passed a car at full throttle, went to let off gas, patted pedal to release with no results, then turned off engine, came to a stop, started the car back, throttle was fine and have had no repeat of problem. Car driven 5,000 miles since. Did not report to dealer.

Fuel gauge stopped working . Needle rotated directly down.

I was accelerating out of a 45mph area to a 55mph and around 50mph the car jerked and the electronic throttle control light came on.the wrench icon on the dashboard.the car seemed to have lost most power but still ran.

Hesitation in gas pedal/throttle body. When pulling out from a stop there is a hesitation in gas pedal. Push down on pedal and there is no response until pedal is down about half throttle and then car will leap and stay at half throttle at which time i let off gas pedal and continue to repeat process until up to a speed of about 30 mph. Very dangerous situation. Every one i talk to about this says it is a common problem with this model, 2005-2014 ford mustang. How many have died from this problem and how many more will die or be injured before a recall is issued for this dangerous problem?

The vehicle began stalling at low speeds, in traffic, at red lights/stop signs and while turning. Several very close calls to date. You must restart engine during a turn often with other motorists bearing down on you. There are many complaints on this site and when you do a search on the internet. The dealership is also aware of it because they tell you right away that you will need a $500.00 part to fix it and that does not include labor. I have also been told by a few mechanics that this used to be solved by replacing the idle air control switch, about a $40.00 part. That part is not offered with this year and model but it comes on the $500.00 part.

Dt*: the contact stated water had leaked onto the vehicle's carpet causing a moldy smell.this happened more frequently on a rainy day and when the vehicle was parked.the contact expressed that water had leaked through the front right passenger door, and the door latches could be the cause.the vehicle was taken to the dealership to diagnosis the problem. But they did not find anything that could generate a water leak.

Parking brake on my 2005 for mustang gt freezes shut every winter.sheridan ford in wilmington "repaired" problem once.next cold day was frozen again.now it is in again for same problem.every cold day below 30 degrees this happens.

-the contact has a 2005 ford mustang with an odometer reading of 16500 miles. The contact stated that her rear brakes keep seizing after the emergency brake has been engaged. The contact has taken the vehicle to the dealer and they changed her rear brake calibers and her rear brake assembly, but she continues to have this failure after the emergency brake has been engaged. The dealer recommend for her not to use the emergency brake, but she has a manual transmission and she needs to use it often.the failure only occurs when the temperature is below 32 degrees.

1. Water leak in passenger side kick panel, has shorted smart junction box, now traction control does not work (caused the rear wheels to spin out on wet pavement at 35 mph and lost control of the vehicle, hit a curb and bent 3 rims and under carriage damage) and has caused other safety related problems while driving. With a/c on, car idle will drop and sometimes stall out, causing a loss of steering and brakes (very safety related). Ford knew of water leak issue when vehicle was manufactured, they put a little plastic cover over sjb computer to deflect leaking water inside passenger compartment on passenger side behind kick panel near door hinge. No dealer will repair the issue without buying a new sjb and programming for over $600.2. Also rear brakes stick after using emergency brake. This is in a warm climate, not cold climate. If i ever have to use my e-brake in an emergency the rear wheels will lock up and be even more of a hazardand danger.both these issues are very safety related. I tried searching your data base and could not even select mustang in the vehicle list.searching the internet you will find literally hundreds if not thousands of complaints about this water leak and sjb damage issue. Please do something about this. I am currently thinking of suing ford for the water leak and wreck this caused. I came very close to hitting a pedestrian when the traction control failed in this accident.

I have a 2005 ford mustang.. And i would like to report emergency brake problem..i just had my emergency brake cables replaced at a local ford dealer.the emergency brakes would not release.i didn't know that the brakes were still holding until a saw white smoke coming from the rear wheels..my car didn't pass my state inspection because the parking brake will not hold the car..

The contact owns a 2005 ford mustang gt.the emergency brake cable slides off and causes the brakes not to release.as a result, the rear brakes began to smoke.the dealer and manufacturer have not yet been notified.the vehicle has not been repaired.the failure occurred twice; the first time she had to apply the clutch and the vehicle spun violently.the failure and current mileages were 37,000. Updated 02-25-08 updated

The vehicle parking brake will not release when the temperature drops below 25 degrees and hangs up until the vehicle is driven for about 2 miles. I have taken the vehicle back to the dealership to be repaired, but it continues to hangup.

I have also had problems with my parking brake freezing on my 2005 ford mustang gt last winter.i took it into the shop after it thawed 3-7-07 - they said no damage was done, but they were out of parts.i took it in later and they said they could not warranty it unless they saw the problem.now a year later it is stuck in my driveway again - i am missing work because of it.why has there not been a recall yet????it is bad engineering, and bad customer service. The service has been performed at joe cooper in midwest city, ok.

While driving, car came to a stop while manually shifting gears. When shift completed, car moved very sluggishly, as though brake were being applied. Over next mile, became progressively more difficult to proceed.

The contact owns a 2005 ford mustang gt. The contact statedthat the vehicle would not accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated the transmission sensor and gear ratio were malfunctioning. The vehicle was driven back home. The following day, the transmission would not shift into gear unless it was shifted into low gears. The vehicle was later able to shift into higher gears. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 174,283.

I have a 2005 ford mustang with 18000 miles on it. A week before the 18,000 mile service a check engine light came on, it was discovered that codes p-2004, p-2005 were present and a tsb from ford, # 06-7-10 were present. This is a problem that is known by ford, but unless you are under warranty or have an extended warranty, ford will not help.the problem is the motion control valves and throttle linkage. The linkage can become damaged and cause the vehicle to loose acceleration or for the accelerator to get stuck during acceleration and to fail to stop causing the vehicle to accelerate out of control.this is a design flaw in the vehicle and there is nothing that i could of done to prevent it as it is built and sold by ford motor corporation.i believe that ford is negligent in this as they are aware, and will not repair it unless it is under warranty or the owner wants to cough up a couple of thousand dollars of their own money for the repair.this is an ongoing problem and needs to be fixed by ford.

2005 ford mustang gt convertible.this vehicle has an automatic transmission that when accelerating will sporadically shifts from first to second gear with a extremely rough gear change.the rough gear change jerks the car forward with enough force to strain the passenger necks and accelerates the car unexpectedly which can easily lead to a frontal crash.

After starting the car, the transmission sticks and will not shift into reverse.it will go into 1st - 5th but won't even think about going into reverse.after talking with the dealership, they said its probably user error.they said that the driver probably just isn't pushing the clutch in all they way.well, with me being the driver, i know that the clutch doesn't go down any farther.

The contact owns a 2005 ford mustang gt convertible. The contact stated that after the ignition was started a cable detached from the emergency brake when depressed. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 48,600 and the current mileage was 49,000.

Engaged parking break on 5-speed manual car overnight. Following morning after cold weather (below freezing), started smelling the emergency brake and noticing smoke wisps coming from rear tires after driving for roughly 5-10 minutes. Friction burn occurred on both rear disc brakes. Rear driver side disc developed a crack through the disc which required replacement. Discs had >1000 miles on them at the time. Lost braking ability and e-brake would no longer engage so unable to park on any incline until fixed.

Parking brake was engaged overnight while parked. Temperatures went below freezing. Next morning, released parking brake and began driving. Acceleration was sluggish and i could smell something burning. Rear brake discs were extremely hot after .5 mi of driving. Upon removal of the wheels, the passenger side brake pad had been glazed and was extremely hot. Brake caliper froze in the engaged position do to multiple cracks and deterioration of the parking brake cable boot. Ford has not issued a recall despite reports of parking brake cable failure causing poor braking while moving or no braking while parked and cars rolling in to traffic.

The e brakes freeze and wont release so the e brakes in the winter are useless if you use them, you are stuck.

1. Beginning at approximately april, 2008, my 2005 ford mustang gt began to leak water inside the cabin in the passenger footwell whenever it rained hard or snowed.2. The failure is a grommet that clogs up underneath the cabin air filter. It's very difficult to reach unless you're a certified mechanic.3. The ford dealer has cleared out the area around the grommet, but it is a constantly recurring problem that ford has issued a tsb for, but they haven't issued a recall for since it usually happens after the warranty expires. I don't think it's fair to make customers pay for a problem like this that ford has known about since 2005.

I have this bubbling/ peeling of paint on the hood right where the hood starts to wrap under in the front of the car towards the engine. There's a tsb out on this but why should ford owners pay for fords mistake and i also seen a lot of forums with others having the same problem.

I am the original owner of a new 05 ford mustang gt, in the state of nh purchased from tilton ford.i have become aware that the aluminum hood is oxidizing and the paint is therefore separating from the metal.the resulting damage on the hood is paint falling away, exposing the aluminum.this should not be occurring on an aircraft or a properly painted auto such as mine.i have pursued this problem with my local ford dealership and ford via the customer service line; both tell me this is not a problem and there is nothing we can do.first, i have only owned ford vehicles- mostly new and can prove this should it matter as a loyal client.second, i have kept my vehicle in excellent condition and have pictures to prove this claim.third, the only paint issue is on the aluminum hood, not other sections of the vehicle.i have done plenty of research and have several estimates and even spoke to an aircraft person who agrees, this should not happen, ford should take care of this.i desire a response which will address this concern, be it pictures from a dealership as part of an estimate to repair the defect of my aluminum hood or its replacement.as a loyal ford customer and advocate, it seems good business to sincerely address this issue and work with me in the repair of what is clearly a ford issue as it relates to the use of aluminum as a metal and its subsequent painting as a hood on the mustang.the resulting damage on my vehicle's hood is not chipping and does not fall under normal wear or a result of use/time but the oxidation and loss of paint on my hood as a direct result of manufacture/design.i am very disappointed in the response from a company that i thought cared and produced high quality products both at the local and national level.i await a prompt and satisfactory response and will pursue all means necessary to achieve what is simply right.

Bubbling/chipping under paint on hood where the underside meets the top part. (05 ford mustang gt).

The contact owns a 2005 ford mustang gt. The contact stated that the windshield wipers would sporadically fail when operating during rainy weather. In addition, water was leaking into the vehicle and onto the floorboard and control module. The dealer was contacted and advised him that the manufacturer had provided a technical service bulletin for the failure associated with the water leak but not a recall (nhtsa item number: 10028507- structure:body:roof and pillars). The vehicle was not inspected or repaired for the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000. The vin was available.

Took car in for safety inspection, and i was told that the lower arm controls needed to be replaced in order for the car to pass inspection, the car only had 24,244 miles and i found out on line that there was a recall to replace them but according to the ford rep my vin # was not in the recall.

Entire instrument cluster stopped working except for digital readout. The interior floods with water when it rains.

Totaled!!!

On dec 15 2016 approximately 8:15 p.m i went to the 711 a minute up the road from my house. As i was leaving the store to get on double creek dr to come back homei was entering the street to get in the far left turning lane to make a u turn at the lightto go back to my house . I was slowly come out of the drive way of 711 picked up speed about 15 -20 mph . When suddenly the gas throttle started picking up speed .i was headed straight for the red light the gas peddle quickly picked up speed . There was traffic that had a green light going horizontally, i tried everything to try and stop my vehicle . In order to avoid getting t boned i turned my out of control carfrom the throttle being stuck to the far right scared for my life . There was a vehicle turning left and i hit the driver side of vehicle all the way down the side . When that happened . I was able to brake slow down the car and pull into the store. With in a few minutes the police officers were there . There was damage to both our vehicles .my mustang will be totaled . The other gentleman took off in an ambulance . This is a huge problem thank godnobody was killed. The insurance company has the car and we are going to request and ask that ford do a data down loador insurance company . So far ford does not want to do anything about this matter . We opened up a case with ford and was quickly blew off. I am not blowing this off in the name of jesus and a child of god . I was protected from something that could of been death. My children have been in this car over the last few years and this could of happened at any time of me going faster speeds like on the freeway. Ford needs to take responsibility for this and i'm not stopping till they take responsibility , before somebody is killed .

When sitting still at stop lights my mustang gt 2005 would lung forward while i still had mt foot on brake. Also after making a rolling stop i would press down on accelerator to go and i would not go i had to push it really hard to go. I almost got hit a couple of times when taking off across traffic lanes. Also the jumping forward while stopped at lights i almost hit cars in front of me i had to make sure and stay at least a car length away while stopped. I took it in to a ford dealer and he said mymass air flow sensor was bad and my throttle body, that controls my throttle. Over 600.00 dollars.

I have had the vehicle in for this exact issue before and the problem could not be located (or reproduced)during rain, the entire electrical system shut down. On this day the oil temperature gauge stopped functioning correctly. In the following months the rpm gauge, the fuel level gauge, and speedometer have stopped functioning correctly and read the wrong information.

I was accelerating out of a 45mph area to a 55mph and around 50mph the car jerked and the electronic throttle control light came on.the wrench icon on the dashboard.the car seemed to have lost most power but still ran.

1st time it happened i was going about 45 mph and as i was accelerating to pass, the car just keptaccelerating by it self, i then began to tap the gas pedal with my foot and as i got closer to the vehicle in front of me i had to brake and put the vehicle in neutral, while in neutral the vehicle idle returned to normal.i then went home and at this point believing it was possibly being caused by the floor mat i removed same.the 2nd time i had just made a right turn and gave it a little gas when the vehicle began to accelerate on its own,as i applied the brake the vehicle did a 180. While i holding the brake down the rear wheels began to spin,i was then able to put the vehicle into neutral and turn itoff. When restarted it was back to normal. I then took it to a ford dealer the next day, they however were unable to duplicate the problem during the two days they had it, thus no repairs were done , i was told to come back if it happens again, i was also told by the dealer that they contacted ford and that they had no other complaints like this.i then contacted ford motor co. And was told there was nothing that they can do, and when asked if they could replace any parts that could cause this problem due to the extreme danger of this problem they refused. Note my vehicle only has 5700 miles on it.

Gas pedal or throttle sticks.ford will not fix.

Windshield wiper motor failure. First occurrence was sept 20 2007 was told the wiring had some corrosion on it and was replaced. March 27 2008 i experienced a stuck accelerator (another complaint filed) while getting on the freeway and car was towed to dealer, no wipers or radio after the accelerator problem. Dealer calls to say that the wiring had corrosion on it again. I've had 3 batteries in it due to a leaking windshield that leaked onto the fuse box and was shorting everything out. Rear defroster repaired in april 2007 its not working properly again only clears part of the window. The car was bought new in 2005 and has 6,485 miles on it. The dealer gets to see the car almost everytime i drive it. This is getting ridiculous.

My 05 mustang gt is a standard and i was coming out of a construction zone in a town out onto a highway. I was going about 20 mph in the construction zone, and pressed on the accelerator to speed up. When i took my foot of the gas peddle to shift gears i noticed the peddle didn't come up with my foot, and that the car was still accelerating. At this time i went ahead and shifted into neutral, and was now going about 60 mph. I then tried to jam my foot under the gas peddle to lift it up. I'm not sure if me trying to get a little bit of my shoe under the peddle to lift it worked, or if it came back up on it's own. But it did come back up, and it only lasted a few seconds. But if coming to a stop sign or stop light this could be a very dangerous situation in a car with 300 hp. I have not talked to ford garage about this problem yet. As it just happened less then an hour ago. Instead i looked up the issue on the internet, and found several people with this problem. Some of the complaints were about family members with this issue, because their incident resulted in death for that person. Several others have also stated that ford garage was not able to replicate the problem, and did nothing to the vehicle.

While getting on the freeway, the accelerator got stuck, tapped on the gas pedal several times to try and release it ..still accelerating. Rpm's was buried in the red zone the whole time and you could smell something burning.tried pressing on the brakes, brake pedal goes to the floor with no results. I was able to get off to the berm on the freeway, shut the car off and coast to a stop. The car was towed to the dealer who claims they could not find any error codesduring diagnostics but could recreate the problem. They said it my floor mats had gotten up under there.not buying it the 2004 mustangs had the same problem.

2005 ford mustang gt purchased december of 2004.it has leaked continually on the passenger side every time it rains.the gem module has been soaked every time.tail lights malfunction and i no longer have windshield wipers that work, so i cannot drive in the rain. The carpet has been replaced by my insurance company but ford refuses to do anything about these leaks and the damage done to the electrical system.

I have a 2005 ford mustang with automatic windows and the windows keep going down by themselves.the will not stay up unless the car is running.when the car if off they roll down and when you them up as soon as you open the door they roll back down.

Tire valve stem had a total and complete failure on the highway at top speed. Tires were correctly inflated but the valve stems failed where the rubber meets the wheel. This has happened 3 times in the last 9 months which destroyed the tire every time. I have lost over $600 for three tires because of these valve stems and luckily haven't been killed, yet.
