I am writing to you because i have become very displeased with the ford fusion hybrid (vin): [xxx] purchased from jim hudson ford located in lexington, south carolina on february 19, 2013.my reasoning for purchasing the fusion hybrid was because of it available safety features and gas mileage i expected to received then advertised as 40 mph. In so many ways i have been pleased with the safety features provided on the fusion, especially the forward sensing, forward collision warning, cross lane alert, voice activated telephone, radio and navigation system. The car handles well and most important both my spouse and i are comfortable with its handling.now my dilemma! thus far there have been at least ten recalls pertaining to the ford fusion, not all applies to my specific vehicle, however there have been enough to give me concern about driving the vehicle on any extended trip. I have expressed my concerns to the representative at jim hudson ford where i take my car for service but being told if something happen while you are on a trip any ford dealer would assist was no relief. Both my wife and i are in our mid-seventies, have mobility issues and reliability, safety and a peace of mind are important! i need a car i can depend on not just one with some great safety features that have been nullified due to pending recalls. I feel this car no longer represent to me the car i assumed i was purchasing and even-though it may still be safe to drive i no longer have the confidence, nor do i any longer feel comfortable when behind the wheel.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

There has been a recall on the air bag, or safety restraint system. I received the notice and was told to call and schedule the repair. This was many months ago. Called two dealers in my area last week, and i'm still being told that there are still no parts available. We are wondering just how safe this vehicle is, as we let our son use the car. Does anyone really have the parts. I have been in for many services at the dealer, and they just shuffle me off.thank you.

The contact owns a 2013 ford fusion hybrid. The contact stated that nhtsa campaign number: 16v384000 (air bags) exceeded a reasonable amount of time for repair. The contact had not received an interim recall notification. The manufacturer was contacted. A local dealer was not contacted to verify if parts were available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

Recalls not done after numerous dealer visits

The contact owns a 2013 ford fusion hybrid. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v875000 (seat belts) and stated that the part was not available within a reasonable time frame to schedule the recall repair. The dealer (rivertown ford, 1680 whittlesey rd, columbus, ga 31904, (706) 653-7420) was unable to verify when the parts would be supplied from the manufacturer. The manufacturer was notified. The contact was not experiencing a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

The cars warning lights for hill stop assist, service advance trac, traction control, and the air bags all came on indicating that these safety features we're not working properly. Taken to the dealer and they said its the rcm or restraint control module that failed. The car was in no accidents, and was driving normally. This part is backordered for weeks but ford would not provide a loner vehicle, so we faced with driving a car that is definitely not as safe as purchased, and the mandated safety features are not working. This problem is happening t many fusion 2013 hybrid owners as seen on the ford forums, and it needs to be a recall, and people should get a loner car while waiting for these to get fixed.

The contact owns a 2013 ford fusion hybrid. The contact received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number:14v597000 (air bags, seat belts). The contact stated that the part needed to remedy the vehicle was unavailable. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

Approximately after 10 minutes of driving, the engine shut down and the electric motor got stuck at about half its power (according to the display on the dashboard). The front air bag malfunction light was on (this had happened 3 times before during the past two weeks), the "hill assist off" light turned on, and a large warning message came up on the left side of the dashboard. The vehicle had very little power, i managed to get to the side of the road and pulled over in a parking lot. Parked and turned the ignition off, waited a minute and started the vehicle. It worked normal for the rest of the drive (5 more miles). The next morning, the front air bag malfunction light came up again after 4 or 5 miles of drive. I took the vehicle to the dealer.

Takata recall

At random while car is on at any timeand any speed (parked and just turned on, at a red light, driving on freeway or city driving, turning or driving straight.) rear parking aid is disabled with light turned on, airbag lights turn on, service advance trac light turns on, the power steering goes out all the same time. Then randomly turns off and drives normal again at anytime ( shortly after the problem occurs, sometimes it stays on an entire drive 1hr+ even if parked and turned car completely off and on again) this has been brought into the deal multiple times with it occurring again shortly after being "fixed"

The contact owns a 2013 ford fusion hybrid. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, an abnormal rattle and grinding noise emitted from the vehicle. The contact mentioned that on one occasion, the vehicle stalled and failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the technician informed that the battery failed. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to back to dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 95,000.

The contact owns a 2013 ford fusion hybrid. While operating the vehicle, the advancetrak, power train, up hill assistance, and stop driving warning indicators illuminated. After turning the vehicle off and back on, it accelerated to 35 mph on its own and would not exceed that speed. During the failure, the brakes did not operate properly and failed to immediately stop the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to ford autonation torrance(3111 pacific coast hwy, torrance, ca) where it was diagnosed that the aftermarket security system caused the failures. After removing the security system from the vehicle, the failures continued. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 35,000.

While driving in the passing lane on the highway on my way home from work i began to smell smoke. I initially thought it was someone else's brakes until i began to see smoke coming through the interior panels of my vehicles. Luckily, the vehicles near me noticed the smoke and slowed down so that i could get off the road. Once pulled over i went to the front of the car and felt the hood but it did not feel hot but when i looked up i noticed the smoke was coming form the trunk. I went to the back of the car, opened the trunk and noticed flames coming from the car battery compartment (not the hybrid battery). I tried to smother the fire with a sheet but was unsuccessful. I realized the flames were moving down the side toward the fuel tank and stepped away to call 911. Within minutes the fire spread through my trunk to the backseat of the vehicle and completely engulfed the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2013 ford fusion hybrid.the contact stated that while driving 15 mph the vehicle stalled without warning.the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the battery bolt needed to be tightened.the vehicle was repaired.the manufacturer was notified of the failure.the failure mileage was 11,000 and the current mileage was 11,005.updated 07/1/2014

When braking on an uneven surface the electric motor surges ahead for an instant causingloss of control of the vehicle.this is the 4th time this vehicle is in the dealer's shop for this issue.they have not been able to diagnose the problem.a letter to ford proved to be futile; with no fix identified for the surging issue.

On two occasions after starting the car electronics on steering wheel and console failed to work!no blinkers,to cruise control,no console control.one time speedometer didn't work.error box appears in left computer screen and does not go away after pressing ok button. I was able to reset system by turning high beam forward twice than backwards once. I believe the turn signal stock is faulty. I was on the highway one time when i discovered the blinkers where not working.could of caused a accident! only have 40,000 miles on car. Took it to the ford dealer and showed manager and agreed software problem.no trouble code came up on scanner.

Traveling south at about 8:30pm on a dark rainy night my wife could not see the road adequately and struck a lane divider blowing out both front and rear left side tires, damaging the front rim. Luckily she was not injured as there was light traffic on the highway. Aaa had to haul the vehicle home on a flatbed tow truck. Damage including two tires and a wheel exceeded $1000.the low beam lights on this car are inadequate and need to be improved. I don't see how the lights passed ntsb illumination standards. The lights on my 1928 model a were better. I now drive in the city with both the fog lights and low beams turned on to get adequate illumination. The lights need to be recalled and improved.

While driving down the highway at 45 mph the cars beside us began honking and flashing lights at us. We began to slow for a traffic light and smoke began to pour our from underneath the car. The engine warning light came on and we pulled left into the turn lane to stop. We then turned on the flashers and turned off the car and exited to the median. We called 911 and luckily, there was an accident going the other direction with fire and police arriving at that accident. Upon seeing our situation, the orange city, fl fire marshall came across the street to help us and sent the fire truck to us. They popped the hood and trunk and tried to put out the fire. After a few minutes of trying to put out the fire, they pulled the hybrid battery line. The incident # is [xxx]. Our car was towed off and totaled by usaa. Purchased a used 2013 ford fusion hybrid from carmax around may 2015 with approx 25000 miles. On 8/6/15 at approx 4:15pm the car was traveling approx 65 mph on the interstate when the command on the dash was given to stop safely now. I pulled over to the shoulder and restarted the car. A week later on 8/12/15 while traveling at approximately 45mph the same message stop safely now appeared after the car shook gently. All power was disabled and was able to pull once again to the shoulder and restart without further issue. Car is currently being checked out at the ford dealer.

The contact owns a 2013 ford fusion hybrid. While driving 60 mph, the vehicle stalled and the check service manual warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart after several attempts. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,962.

Driving at 45 mph and car shut down driving on city street.safety warning popped up that said 'stop safely now'.car coasted to side of the road and had to be towed to dealership.

While driving, my "check engine" warning light, "low oil pressure" warning light, and the "stop safely now" warning came up on my dash. I lost all power steering and breaks, and the engine cut out. I struggled to stop the car, but eventually it stopped moving. I turned off the car and turned it back on, receiving no further errors. I called the dealership to find out that there's nothing they can do since the car is no longer in an "error state".

I had driven about two blocks from a parking lot and was stopped at a red light. After the light changed, i started across the intersection and all electrical systems (including motor drive) shutdown halfway across. My ipod 4s was connected to the myford touch system via usb cable, and it showed the apple logo, suggesting that it had been issued a reboot command. Had to put the transmission in park and restart the engine in the middle of the intersection to continue.

After leaving work and driving for approximately 5 minutes, the car experienced the failure.it was sunny outside and warm.the climate control system was not in use.while driving in ev mode, the car dropped its speed from 25 mpg to 2mph.i was in traffic and had to drive 2 blocks until i could pull over.the car display flashed electrical system failure. The car display and all interior lighted went dark.the car did not switch to the gas engine and the gas engine did not turn on.the car was towed to the dealer. The dealer found 50 error codes on the car.a few days after receiving the car back from the dealer, i was driving in ev mode in a parking lot. While driving the car bucked and switched into gas engine mode.the display light on the instrument cluster turned yellow and the car took itself out of ev mode.

Loss of power steering while driving, barely able to keep control as it happened mid turn and had to steer away from curb as the steering wheel was mostly locked up.error codes including steering assist fault, advanced track fault, and hiii start fault appeared and steering wheel stayed locked up.attempted turning vehicle off and on but errors and steering wheel failure remain.

Recently when i slow down to stop and then press my brakes, the car occasionally propels forward.

During breaking at approx. 15-20mph the break pedal became very soft and lost most (90%) of the breaking power. The dash breaking and stability control warning lights flashed. The electronic emergency break engaged and would not disengage. Car had to be towed to local dealership.

Beginning about january 2015, and occurring a total of about six times so far, my wife's 2013 fusion hybrid (currently with 25,500 miles) experienced what feels like a power surge.(i experienced this once in this vehicle; the remainder when my wife was driving.) it is possible that this is related to the regenerative braking system at least in part, as i have seen others describe it as a feeling of hitting an ice patch. The general conditions would include: a) foot on brake; b) decelerating; c) presumably in ev mode [though not necessarily]; d) beginning a left turn [but we believe this is incidental]; e) warm engine; f) less than 30 mph.on october 1, 2015, a new condition caused the feeling of unintended acceleration, as my wife was on a side street near our home when she was approaching a stop sign and felt the power surge, which she states was many times worse than any other instance of this event that she ever experienced.conditions this time were the same as above but moving straight and less than 25 mph. We took the vehicle to the local ford dealership the evening of the last incident.of course they found no codes and no evidence of anything wrong.i also contacted the ford customer relationship center while it was in the shop to document that we had this problem. They seemed helpful however, unless ford motor company and their engineering community acknowledge a problem and do something to address it, it will forever be a ghost in the machine, with the blame and doubt falling on the vehicle owners, not unlike toyota's well documented, fatal and shameful unintended acceleration cases. I am concerned about our safety while driving the vehicle. I hope that no one gets hurt or killed while this problem exists and urge ford motor company to get to the root of the issue that myself and other owners are fearfully experiencing.

I went to autonation ford in delray beach, florida for a oil change and ford recalls. Upon arriving at the dealership the vehicle seemed fine.once leaving the facility it also seemed to be running normally.two days later the vehicle was making unusual noises in the engine when accelerating or braking.i then alerted the technician at the dealership.i told them i did not feel secure driving back to the dealership.they did not want to pay for the towing.never the less, i then drove the vehicle back to the dealership for it to be reviewed.upon arriving at the dealership they gave me a rental vehicle.the following day they reviewed the vehicle and notified me.the engine bracket was completed sheared off.this is a bracket that keeps the engine in place.it prevents the engine from moving in the vehicle when accelerating or decelerating.the vehicle has never been in a accident prior to this incident nor there after. There was no physical damage on the outside or underneath the vehicle that justified the damage.in my opinion, there was something occurred at the dealership.the manager at the dealership disagreed.however, he did agree that there was no justification for the engine bracket to have been sheered in half.later, the insurance adjuster also looked at the damage.he also agreed that there was no justification for the shearing of the engine bracket.however, i had to pay for the majority of the cost of the repair.it still does not make sense as to why the engine bracket was sheared.this vehicle has not been driven off-road, gravel and/or dirt roads.the driving of this vehicle is 80% in town and 20% on highway.in my opinion the part was defective or the damage occurred while i was not driving the vehicle. This notification is only for other ford fusion drivers to be aware of such an issue

I was driving myself to my emt salary, full benefit job when my car began to smoke. When i pulled over and lifted the hood flames came roaring out. I personally was able to put it out being a former fire fighter. Now insurance says they can not cover this due to it being an engine failure. Despite full coverage, gap insurance, and fire casualty insurance they could not pay out for a new engine. Only the fire damage done under the hood and nothing else. The dealership explained i needed an entirely new engine put in and that it would cost 7,000.00. I had this car less then 6 months when it caught fire. I also have 11,000.00+ loan out on this car. I filed a claim with ford motor and they have ignored all my attempts. I am unable to get another loan due to already having an open car loan and not enough credit. I lost my job as a result to not being able to afford a rental after blowing through my entire savings for one. I temporarily lost custody of my son due to not transportation to his school. I lost my home due to not having my full time job anymore. I am nearing the point of living on the streets. I lost my emotional support animal due to having no home. Please help a single mother come back from such a loss.

My car has 66,000 miles on it. 3 of the 4 fuel injectors have failed while driving on highways, when cold outside.all in the last month. Searching forums, this isn't just me. Every ford hybrid has this problem.

My wife and i were entering a parking lot with the ford fusion hybrid and slowed down, then started to slowly accelerate, the ffh wouldn't go forward normally and sort of stalled.my high voltage battery state was low (1/8 charged) and the car had about 3/4 tank of gas.it began with a series of surges that were caused by the car not knowing which propulsion source to use. It tried the gas engine, surged forward a few feet then tried to switch back to the electric motor, etc, - this happened about 6 times before i could get it to surge out of the driveway and park safely.i put the car in park and pushed the gas pedal trying to force the gas engine to take over and that caused an engine stutter and again the car tried each source of power - i turned the key off.upon a restart it was as if nothing was wrong, it ran normally so i ran a ford vehicle health report (vhr) while sitting in the car idling, that report is sent to my ford owner's account, i did this to try and catch any errant dtc's (trouble codes).after that i restarted the car into the engineering test mode to show my digital dash display's internal readings, no dtc's were present there either.we finished our business and drove the 20 miles home without any problems, all normal.that was the first time this has happened and is a very unsafe situation.

The contact owns a 2013 ford fusion hybrid. While driving approximately 50 mph, a grinding noise was heard coming from the front of the vehicle and the engine coolant warning indicator illuminated. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road and waited until the engine cooled down. The contact continued to drive the vehicle, but due to overheating, the contact had it towed to waldorf ford (2440 crain hwy, waldorf, md 20601, (301) 843-2400) where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the repair fees. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 135,000.

Replacement of a simple front parking light is estimated by ford service in new hampshire to cost $250.00 because the front bumper assembly must be removed to replace the single bulb.

While driving on the freeway feb 2 2016,the ford fusion hybrid 2013 model, suddenly lost its ability to deliver power and propulsion. Loss of power to the vehicle resulted in loss of light to the console and to the car's propulsion system slowing it from freeway speeds of 65 mph to what seems like 5 mph or less, inthe the evening rush hour traffic.all attempts at applying the gas pedal hadfailed to accelerate the vehicle, as there was no response from the power propulsion system. I was able to cruise on momentum to a soft shoulder. The car was towed off the bridge and later towed to a ford dealership. No cause was found by the ford technicians and ford regional customer relations said my cause could not be helped if they could not reproduce the problem, thus i am stuck with a potential catastrophic failure that can happen at anytime during freeway commute. This is a potential danger to the public safety and ford is unwilling to mitigate or address such a serious life threatening problem.

After several weeks of ownership it was all too apparent that the low beam headlights, even after the safety headlight recall (12c27/nhtsa 12v-553), offer inadequate, sub standard, hazardous inferior illumination both forward and to both sides! compared to our toyota highlander 2008 and volvo s70 wagon 2003 the 2013 fusion hybrid low beam illumination is short distanced and dim,<50% of experienced in those vehicles! that puts the driver at serious risk! i called ford motor's 800 line a few weeks ago. They courteously put me through to the head mechanic at muzi ford.i spoke to2 head ford dealer mechanics: muzi ford, needham and framingham ford, framingham and they confirm that i have no headlight option.

The contact owns a 2013 ford fusion hybrid. The contact stated that when the headlights from other drivers would appear through the rear-view windshield, the lights would appear distorted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle was operating as designed. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 5.

When ever i stop for gas the car has trouble starting.it also stopped running at a red light. After a few minutes it turned over. Car makes a strange noise when doing 40 mph or more.i don't feel anything different. But it makes a loud noise every couple seconds.

While driving in moderate afternoon traffic, without warning the accelerator pedal became unresponsive. A warning chime sounded and a "stop safely now" message appeared on the right side of the instrument cluster; the vehicle effectively stalled. After pulling onto the shoulder, the vehicle was completely turned off and restarted. The trip continued without incident. Since then the vehicle has randomly stalled, without warning six additional times in various locations at various speeds. The vehicle did not restart after the last stall and had to be towed in for service.it has been in for repairs related to this issue on three occasions over the course of 4 months for a total of 29 days. On one occasion, while in for service, the dealer informed the owner that the vehicle also stalled while being road tested and had to be towed back. The dealer has updated various software modules and replaced a gateway module, high voltage cable and battery controller. The vehicle is currently less than 11 months old with 6850 miles.this has been a serious and persistent safety issue. Ford has declined a requested vehicle exchange. As a result, this potentially unsafe car is currently back on the road with an owner that no longer has any confidence in it and friends and family that recoil at the thought of being driven in it.

When having the car serviced, i was asked if i was aware of the smell of gas and the visual leak. I was not, as my nose was damaged and i have no sense of smell. Online, ford recall notice 13s04 describes my problem.i called ford customer care only to be advised my vehicle is not subject to the recall. I have been directed to go to a ford dealer to as about an examination of the car.

My vehicle - from a stopped position - accelerated on its own to 40 mph (rather quickly).however, the gas pedal was not engaging (ie. Depressing).this occurred at lunchtime on 17-jun-2016.all trouble lights on the dash lit-up.the behavior continued until i shut the vehicle off at the dealer (elder ford in troy, mi).i was unable to engage the throttle at all; it was essentially 'dead', even though my vehicle was accelerating to 40 mph and maintaining that speed.braking response was diluted because the car was self-propelling (imagine trying to brake while also applying gas).i took it to the dealer immediately and showed them the videos that i took.i also sent the videos to them.i have been told today that they will be giving the vehicle back without any repairs because they could not replicate the problem.i have the videos in my possession, should nhtsa like to see them.i have had several issues over the last 1.5 years that i have owned the vehicle. I can send repair records. ....updated 12/05/16updated 6/18/18

"check fuel fill port" light keeps coming on. I hit "ok" and then it goes off.however, this time the check engine light came on with it, so i took it in to the dealer.they simply reset the code, and told me that gas pump nozzles "are sometimes dirty" and can trip the sensor.one week later, the light is on again and i will take it into the shop this week.worry there could be a gas leak, as after i fill the tank completely, the gauge sinks to 3/4 of a tank in about 5 miles.

The contact owns a 2013 ford fusion hybrid. While driving approximately 10 mph, the front passenger side door latch fractured and caused the door to inadvertently open. The dealer stated that the latch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure occurred with the rear passenger door. While driving approximately 30 mph, the contact noticed that the rear passenger door opened where a child was seated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the latch was replaced with part number be82-5426413-d. The failure recurred multiple times with a child seated near the failed door. The contact received a notice for nhtsa campaign number:15v246000(latches/locks/linkages). The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed by the dealer that the part which was used to repair the vehicle before would be used again for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 54,083.

The contact owns a 2013 ford fusion hybrid. The contact stated that the front passenger door would not latch on the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the door latch was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 15v246000 (latches/locks/linkages); however, the vin was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000.

The contact owns a 2013 ford fusion hybrid. While operating the vehicle, a constant grinding sound was present coming from the transmission. The vehicle was taken to larry h. Miller ford(11442 s. Lone peak pkwy, draper, ut) where it was diagnosed that the transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was 120,000.

Loud grinding noise coming from ford hf35 cvt transmission that had catastrophic failure on the highway going 65mph

While coming off of an exit my right front passenger door flew open and i was almost in an accident because it frightened me as another car behind me had to brake as well to avoid hitting me from the back. I read up on this car and there is information statin the there are problems with the door lock/latches where you think your door is lock and it is not. Now i try yo close it, the door will not lock at all. I did not see a recall on my vin but i not have to contact ford because there is information all over the internet stating that is a know fact to happen on the 2013 and i believe the 2014 models. I also have an issue where the sync with my ford does not work correctly. I am unable to use touchscreen because when i due i get an error message pops up on the screen saying something about the usb and power source and does not allow me to do anything else. I literally have to turn off and restart my screen.

Carwas making a roughing sound while drivingwhen in p or n no sound took i took it to dealer they could not find a problem 3000 mile later they said it the transmission it would cost us $11,000 to repair need to know if this is happening to any other owners

Driving the vehicle on local street. Exhibited loud noise and started to vibrate. Eventually coming to an abrupt stop. Luckily traffic as light and the car behind managed to stop safely and avoid a collision. Managed to turn the car off then back on and it was operational, exhibiting kind of grinding noise.ford dealer says the transmission failed and needs to be replaced. Car is fully serviced, no warning lights even when the problem occurred - there was nothing indicating an issue with the car on the dashboard.the car has a bit less than 105k miles, warranty expired at 100k in december 2017. Ford has a few tsbs describing cvt transmissin issues: 14b07 and 17-039. I was never contacted regarding any of the issues in these bulletins and transmission was not serviced. Now it completely failed out of the blue in the middle of the street, barely avoiding accident.

While driving vehicle on highway, and odometer was at 3400 miles ;vehicle had no power while climbing. During the climb, vehicle could not maintain 35 mph. After getting to top of hill, vehicle drove fine at highway speed. Every climb after that point, vehicle would decelerate, and engine rpm's would rev to maximum. Took vehicle to 3 dealerships, and never test drove or diagnosed. The response from each dealership was this was normal for a hybrid. At 18000 miles heard a loud whining noise. Took vehicle to a 4th dealership where they discovered the transmission failed, and both cv axles were damaged around the boot. Dealership covered the transmission under warranty, but forced me to pay for the replacement of the cv axles, claiming the boots tore from road debris. Since then i had the vehicle inspected by an independent mechanic, and they stated that debris could not have tore the inner boot of the cv axle with the large fairing under the car. Unless there is a hole in the fairing. I contacted ford directly, and they referred me to a manager who claims to be a metallurgist, and said the failure was my fault without inspecting the vehicle or axles. When i contacted the original dealership about this vehicle being in the service dept 15 times in less than 20,000 miles, all i received was a sorry.

The contact owns 2013 ford fusion hybrid. The contact stated while vehicle was at a stand still, the contact attempted to restart vehicle, however the vehicle failed to restart twice. The contact stated the power train warning light was illuminated. The vehicle restarted after the third attempt. The contact stated the failure related to nhtsa campaign number: 18v169000 (power train). The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 48,700.

The contact owns a 2013 ford fusion hybrid. While driving 60 mph, the contact depressed the accelerator pedal and the vehicle made a scraping noise. The noise intensified every time the contact depressed the accelerator pedal. The vehicle stalled and the "move to safety" indicator illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 117,000.

Hello. I just buy car and after two day coming some noise from engine mechanic tel me this is transmission. So also he told me 95% of ford fusion hybrid 2013-2014 have a same problem. I think ford have to recall.

The contact owns a 2013 ford fusion hybrid. While driving approximately 45 mph, the engine made a grinding noise. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the transmission and both front axle and bearings failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to thoroughbred ford (8501 n boardwalk ave, kansas city, mo 64154, phone: (816) 505-1818) where it was diagnosed that the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer stated that the customer satisfaction program for the transmission had expired and the vehicle could not be repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 92,000.

The contact owns a 2013 ford fusion hybrid. The contact stated that the transmission made a whining sound when traveling at lower speeds. The vehicle was taken to plaza ford (1701 bel air rd, bel air, md 21014, (410) 838-3100) where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The repair would cost $7,500. The manufacturer had not been contacted. The failure mileage was 128,000. Consumer stated transmission needs to be replaced.

The contact owns a 2013 ford fusion hybrid. After an alignment was performed on the vehicle, the contact heard an abnormal noise and the vehicle shook while driving various speeds. When the contact slowed down, he heard a loud humming noise. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to bartow ford (located at 2800 us-98, bartow, fl 33830, (800) 301-8570) where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Driving at 45 mph and car shut down driving on city street.safety warning popped up that said 'stop safely now'.car coasted to side of the road and had to be towed to dealership.

Rear center seat belt locked and would not extend, trapping the occupant in the seat. The seat belt would not extend once retracted fully, locking the seat in a folded position.

There has been a recall on my vehicle for 6 months, yet there is still no fix in the near future. I am driving around in a safety-compromised vehicle every day. I would like to find out my options, as companies are supposed to fix recalls in a timely manner. It has been half a year that i have had to feel unsafe.

Tilting the back seat forward makes the middle seat belt lock up, preventing the seat from going back up. The only recourse being to cut the seat belt. Or unbolt the seat belt assembly. Both of which are safety concerns. Youtube is filled with workarounds for this issue. Which include having the seatbelt locked into the clip always. And using that slack to bring the seat back up when it gets stuck.

Front seatbelt pretensioner 16s42 - after having the fleet vehicle serviced, i was given the invoice to sign. I asked the csr if the recall had been fixed in addition to the vehicle being service, was informed that they were not going to repair the recall until it failed. I was then informed that there have been a lot of requests for the recall and they did not have the part to complete the repair. We walked away thinking that's weird that she said that. In checking the receipt, there is no listing of checking for recalls, even after i had requested it when i made the appointment.

My daughter was in the middle seat in the back of the car. We went to get her out and the seat belt locked up and the belt became really tight on her chest. She started to cry and we didn't know how to get her our. We then unlatched the seat, folded it over and she crawled out. But then the seat belt became even tighter and i now can not lift the seat back up. The seat belt could have harmed my child.

When i put the back seats down to carry items the back seat will not go back in place. You have to take the bottom seat out and remove the center seatbelt bolt which is attached to the frame and release the pressureonce you do this the returns to a normal position it is a safety issue. The middle seat belt retractor seems defective. It was stationary

On numerous occasions, i have experienced a momentary loss of control of my car when braking.this problem occurs when decelerating around a curve (left or right), driving downhill, or when decelerating over a bump or other area of raised pavement.these instances have occurred on city streets, at speeds under 40 mph.when it occurs it feels as if the car is skidding, even on dry pavement.i would also describe the feeling as a surge, even though the car is braking, and should be slowing.i have also described this as a feeling that the brakes slip or stop working momentarily and then re-engage.the experience is frightening, and i am concerned that the car could surge forward while i am braking and result in a collision or injuries.i purchased the car new in 2013, and have driven the car fewer than 20,000 miles.i have taken the car in for service regularly.these surges recently have seemed longer in duration more recently.i have noted this concern to my ford dealer twice in the last 12-15 months, and asked them to check the brakes for problems.each time, the dealership has told me that they could not replicate the surge or skidding sensation.most recently, the service representative explained that i was probably noticing the gasoline engine kick back in after the car was in battery/electric drive.this explanation does not square with my experience.i can determine when the car shifts from battery to engine operation, and that is not the cause of these braking events.i read the complaints of a few other fusion 2013 hybrid owners with the braking system, and i wanted to add that this problem is occurring in other vehicles.this is not a safe condition.i will again be taking my car in for service, and asking for ford to investigate this problem.

While driving 65mph on a back road leaving harris co. My car started to speed up without me pressing the paddle and when i pushed the brakes i had to push it several times before it would work and slow down the car. It pretty much made us jerk forward when the brakes started to work. I have never had this happen until wednesday oct. 24, 2018 and don't know who to contact. I had my daughter and niece in the car coming from my son football game. That was scary and i hope it don't happen again.

Car surges while turning as if it hit a patch of ice, regardless of speed, but only when regenerative brakes are applied. Happens in bothdirections and is consistently reproduced, more noticeable with higher speeds. Regenerative braking is also inconsistent, at times it will not properly slow the car down. As more pressure is applied, the car is not slowing as expected, and has gone into intersections as the transition from regen braking to hydraulics does not occur quick enough, and feels like brakes are fading.dealer and ford has looked at the car and said no trouble codes, nothing wrong with the car.this could lead to an accident as it is never known if the car will slow down using the regenerative brakes or not until they are applied.i do not feel ford is taking this serious enough, and refuses to spend time to diagnose.

The contact owns a 2013 ford fusion hybrid. While operating the vehicle, the advancetrak, power train, up hill assistance, and stop driving warning indicators illuminated. After turning the vehicle off and back on, it accelerated to 35 mph on its own and would not exceed that speed. After removing the security system from the vehicle, the failures continued. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 35,000.

We own a 2013 fusion hybrid and have experienced a very scary feeling as the vehicle accelerates for few seconds before it comes to a stop, after applying the break. For that period of time from putting on the breaks to the vehicle stopping, it feels like we have lost control over the car. We have been observing this at leasttwice a week on an average. Left the vehicle with the dealer for a week last year, and they claim they could not observe the same thing after driving for miles. It is hard to know in what scenario this thing occurs, but is definitely a scary experience.my husband got into an accident a month ago where two cars in front of him got involved. He was at a good distance and he hit breaks, but next thing he knows is the air bags are blown and his fusion had a good amount of damage in the front. He does not know what happened in that moment, but it makes me think and hope that it was not the same scenario where the vehicle accelerated and he lost control over it. It is unfortunate for me to say this, but i work for ford through one of the vendor companies and still can't help with this situation. We did what we could by talking to the customer service and the dealer, but could not get any answers. I am hoping that more people who are facing this issue will write here and they would investigate this issue. It is a sad experience, and have to live with this scary thought and hoping no one gets hurt.

Periodically when apply brake, no engagement, as if i hit a patch of ice, then the break engages.

During breaking at approx. 15-20mph the break pedal became very soft and lost most (90%) of the breaking power. The dash breaking and stability control warning lights flashed. The electronic emergency break engaged and would not disengage. Car had to be towed to local dealership.

Car lurches forward when braking as if the regenerative braking shuts off momentarily and turns back on.happens when going over some bumps and during turns.it is most noticeable when making left turns in a turn around in a separated highway with a median, where you need to slow down quickly, making a left turn and braking at the same time, so less than maybe 30 mph.it is frightening when it happens, and i'm afraid i will run into someone in front of me.i've taken it to the dealer feb 4, 2016.the dealer could not reproduce.i don't believe they put much time into finding it as the mileage in and out are the same. The dealership did a pcm update but that did not fix the problem. I read a complaint from another owner and it describes this problem which prompted me to file my own complaint. This is a daily occurrence. It has been going on for at least a year.does not seem to be getting worse.

I was traveling 55 miles per hour in the hybrid mode, when i needed to slow down very suddenly for much slower traffic.applying my brakes firmly, they locked up, causing my car to swerve between three lanes while the backend fish tailed back and forth.i could hear the tires skidding on the pavement and my steering was very difficult to control.

My 2013 ford fusion hybrid steering wheel was loose and felt like it was about to come off while driving. The steering wheel would wobble side to side and was not secure. This happened while driving on the expressway. I took my vehicle to a ford dealer in west palm beach, florida. I learned that ford had recently issued a recall (ford ref # 18s08) for 2014-2018 ford fusion loose steering wheels. My 2013 fusion has exactly the same problem. The ford dealer advised me that my steering wheel problem in my 2013 ford was exactly the same as in the 2014-2018 fusions, but since ford had not issued a recall for the 2013 fusion, i had to pay for the repair. The dealer contacted ford and ford said they would not cover this defect. This is very unfair and unsafe. The ford steering wheel recall should be expanded to include 2013 ford fusions. My fusion was manufactured in the same hermosillo, mexico plant where the 2014-2018 fusions were manufactured. Ford needs to accept responsibility for this steering wheel defect in the 2013 ford fusion and immediately issue a recall on 2013 fusions before someone is killed or seriously injured. I felt as if the steering wheel of my fusion was about to come off due to this defect. It is a very serious situation.

While traveling north on ca-2 near san fernando road, the steering started to feel wobbly. About 2 seconds later, the computer screen in the instrument cluster displayed an alert saying to service the steering soon; about 2 seconds after that, it said "steering loss - stop safely" along with an audible warning sound.the curvature of the road was such that going straight ahead put the car on the road shoulder with enough time to stop, so i cannot say whether the steering would have worked if i had applied extremely high force to the steering wheel. However, after stopping and restarting the car, the steering wheel's movement had no effect on the wheels, and the mechanic at the ford dealer (to which the car was towed) said that they were entirely unable to steer the car.although i was able to stop safely, i and other people could easily have died if i had been on a winding road, had needed to make an emergency maneuver, or if the drivers next to us on the freeway had not noticed the hazard flashers and moved out of the way.advantage ford lincoln in duarte repaired the steering by replacing the entire rack and pinion system, and we subsequently returned the vehicle to the selling dealer for a refund. The repairing dealer assured us that the faulty part was being sent to ford for analysis.

One day when driving my vehicle i completely lost power steering. I managed to get to a safe place on the side of the road. I restarted the car and the power steering returned, the failure is due to a malfunctioning rack and pinion. Ford has gone to a completely electronic rack and pinion; resulting in now issues on owners part for lack of proper fluid changes/service.i took the car to ford to have it checked for a recall and they stated their was none. A few days following the initial loss of steering i lost it completely and it has not returned. Ford has submitted documentation regarding 2011-2012 ford fusion hybrids, lincoln hybrids and various other models that have had a similar issue. The vehicle has roughly 133k miles and was purchased used. I am unsure as to when my vehicle was manufactured late 2012 and sold in 2013 or manufactured early 2013. I have experienced the same issues as the previous models, have had the dealer check my vehicle and have been told that my only option was $3200 repair for them to replace. I have attached a safety recall document (part 573 safety recall report) 15v-340 omb control no: 2127-004 i would request that the part be replaced and covered by the manufacturer as they have several reports and recalls for similar vehicles

Vehicle has 2 broken steering box support bolts.same as recall rcmn-15v250-1089, same year car, but this vin is not included in the recall

My steering is now going in/out just as i had a complete cvt replacement so thousands of dollars later.there is a recall for that year but not for the month that my car was produced.it's still a known issue which saddens me because its my first time investing in an american vehicle.the vehicle is sitting at aamco service shop currently.

The contact owns a 2013 ford fusion hybrid. The contact stated that while driving at a very slow speed the steering completely failed and the driver had no ability to steer the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who diagnosed that two out of three bolts in the steering gear motor assembly fractured. The vehicle was repaired and the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 54,981.

Reversing the car out of my garage i noticed the steering wheel was very difficult to turn and the "steering assist fault" message came up on the dash. Car is still driveable, but very difficult to turn steering wheel at low speeds. I took the car to the ford dealer. They say they carried out the recall affecting the steering safety bolts from 2015 (15s14) and that this is a new problem. They say i need a new steering gear/rack. It looks like a lot of people are experiencing the same issue. I'm lucky i was just reversing out of my garage and not driving at speed when the steering assist failed. That would have been very dangerous.

We are experiencing a loss of power steering at times. The other day in a turn the power steering lost power, and was very hard to come out of a turn, when not being ready for this to happen. Was a very dangerous situation. I have called two different ford dealers and they boyh say that there are no power steering. Issues. I know that is not true.my car may not be within the affected vin # group, but this is a dangerous issue. Especially with a kid driving the car.

Vehicle steering wheel lost assist function and became extremely difficult to steer. There was no error message or code. Turned off ignition and restarted steering began working again. Drove remainder of the day without issue. Parked car for evening. The next day started car and steering felt locked. Put car in reverse steering g wheel would not turn. Applied brakes firmly... Found steering would turn but with great effort. No visible warnings on dash. Turned off car. Restarted car...green go light on, no warnings steering still very difficult. Placed car in drive rolled forward a few feet and applied brakes firmly. Steering became normal. Drove car to dealer in august 2018 and explained situation. Dealer performed diagnostics and found no steering or drive related codes. Cleared codes and said to bring it back if it happened again. 4 months later (dec) car repeated steering failure upon startup without any code or alarm. Cycled ignition several times and steering became normal. On dec 14, 2018 while driving received visual notification of "steering fault service now". No apparent issues with steering so drove home. On dec 15, i started car and received visual message " steering loss stop safely" and steering was again very difficult. Took car to dealer on dec 17. Dealer notified me that steering gear needed to be replaced. $2300+. I feel there is a dangerous defect in the steering module and more people will have issues. The lack of diagnosis by the vehicle sensors of an issue and the dealers inability to verify the faults i experienced makes this car unsafe in my opinion. Please look into this. I am just lucky i was not driving when it failed completely.

The contact owns a 2013 ford fusion hybrid. While driving on the highway, the vehicle experienced a loss of power steering. As a result, the vehicle veered out of the lane and the contact lost control of the vehicle. The traction control, hillside start assist, and steering assist warning indicators illuminated. The contact was able to regain control of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, a diagnosis was not provided. The vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v250000 (steering). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

I was backing out of my garage at home and as soon as i put the car in drive and started to turn the wheel, i heard a loud clunk.the steering wheel locked and the car would not steer.it was completely locked.when i tried to force the wheel i heard a massive grinding sound but the car still wouldn't steer.i called roadside assistance and they flat-bedded the car to my local ford dealer.my car has never been in an accident and has been driven responsively.i can't believe the steering would break like this.thank goodness i wasn't driving down the road as an accident surely would have occurred.the broken steering rack has been on order for a month now.i'm getting the run-around from the ford representative.i'm extra concerned because my wife drives the exact same car. I'd like to know what exactly happened and once its "fixed" how can i be assured it won't happen again.as of today, i still have not gotten the car back from the dealership.please note that when you check my vin # it is registered in my company's name automatic music & vending.

Failure of steering mechanism - electrical.notice popped up while driving and with no apparent issues.then after stopping and restarting the car would not turn rt or lt.dealer says this is not covered by recall in 2015 which also includes this yr model.

The contact owns a 2013 ford fusion hybrid. While the vehicle was stationary, the "power steering assist fault, service required" warning message displayed. Portsmouth ford in portsmouth, new hampshire was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle was previously repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 15v250000 (steering) in 2015. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided the contact with case number: cas-14754810. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.

The power assist completely failed on my vehicle while driving resulting in a total loss of steering control causing the possibility of a serious accident as i was driving on a major interstate highway. There was a recall on 2011 and 2012 ford fusions for the same problem.i have contacted ford about the problem sending them a letter of what occurred and a copy of the invoice. My wife and i had to have the vehicle towed to a dealership in tennessee, rent a car and stay in a hotel for two nights while the car was being repaired.the entire steering assembly has to be replaced costing more that $2,250.00 just for the repairs. I explained to ford and the ford dealership that i was aware of the 2011 and 2012 recalls for the same problem and stated that this same problem on the 2013 models should be covered. I have the invoice and letters that i sent to ford and my local dealership, ballentine ford in greenwood, sc.the car was repaired in knoxville, tn.

Passenger rear door latch would not properly interlock, meaning door wouldn't stay shut. This happened in a stationary position when i opened the door to get a passenger out then i went to close the door, having the door bounce back to me. To note: a recent recall was administered due to faulty latches and i had it replaced at ford in feb 2016... 8 months later issue resurfaced, not cool.

Rear passenger door not closing. This is the 3rd time this has happened to my vehicle!

The contact owns a 2013 ford fusion hybrid, the contact stated that the over head passenger side handle broke after using it for support to get out of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician verified the failure and replaced the handle; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 12,626 and the current mileage was19,000.

The rear passenger door latch failed and the door swung open while the car was in movement. The door still does not close and the latch will need to be replaced. Nhtsa action number ea15002 addressed this exact issue on similar vehicles, but my particular vehicle was not included by ford on the recall that resulted from that action.

Door latches were recalled and replaced march 2016, driver side door latch then failed beginning of april 2017 (one year and one week after they were replaced). It appears ford's fix to the original recall was not a good one. Because it was more than one year past the replacement, i was made to pay for this.

"ford door latch recall" - having issues with door latches for my ford fusion hybrid that were replaced during a recall (by another dealer).issues have started since the recall, with excessive vibration of the doors, door ajar indicator coming on during motion and latest rear passenger door not closing , which have been brought up with my current dealeri have been working (with ford thru) my current dealer for a number of months and finally had the front passenger door latch changed a couple of months back because of excessive door vibration and door ajar indicator coming on couple of weeks back the right rear door flew open during a turn, but i ignored it thinking the door was not shut properly, stopped the car safely at the side of the road and had the door closed.last weekend rear right passenger door failed to close and has remained "un-closable" since, i had to tie door in with seatbelts and limp the car back home.went to the dealer today and was told by them that door latch needs to be replaced and the cost of parts and labor will not be covered as the recall was past warranty (1 year).called ford customer support and was told the same.i now have concerns of the similar issues occurring on the other doors and the safety of the vehicle as a whole.

Recalls not done after numerous dealer visits

The driver side door latch doesn't work correctly. I have to pull on the door and it take me about 5 minute for the door to lock. I'm having to go through the passenger side door to get in my car. The door has open slightly when i am driving. My car is not part of the recall of 2015 but the part to fix is going on 3 weeks in back order.

Door latch recall.last month (july 2016) the front passenger door of my 2013 ford fusion flew open while we were driving.it would not close.we later learned ford has recalled hundreds of thousands of vehicles, including 2013 ford fusions for this exact problem.we were told our vin was not included in the recall.we had no option but to pay the nearly $500 cots of replacing the faulty door latch.now, only one month later (august 2016), the rear driver side door of my car flew open and would not close, again due to a faulty door latch.my car is not even 3 years old, and i have spent nearly $1000 to replace parts that should last the life of the car.it is infuriating that this is a known problem, and ford is doing nothing to help.i now have the option of spending an additional $1000 or risk having the other two door latches fail as well.the most disheartening aspect is the tremendous safety issue this problem creates, which makes my "choice" not really a choice at all.for the safety of my family or others who may be riding in my car, i simply must pay to have the other door latches replaced.i have made numerous calls to ford, and they just refer me back to the dealership for assistance.the dealership in turn sends me back to ford.i have been going back and forth with neither party showing any interest in helping to resolve this problem.

The door latch on my rear passenger door failed. The door will not latch and stay closed. There is a current recall on my car for this issue. In the recall ford says that all latches must be replaced. Obviously i have defective parts in my car. The dealership tells me that they will only replace the broken part and not the other three doors because they don't have enough parts. That is not my problem. My problem is being able to travel down the freeway safely and not worry that my doors are going to fly open. It's unethical that ford can know there is a safety issue and not address it in a timely manner. I wonder if anyone in the ford family is driving a car with defective door latches. I bet not.

Opened passenger side door to remove belongings from vehicle and when closing door it bounced back open. On investigation the latch will not stay locked in place so door can not be properly closed.

The car has a flip out key. The key stem breaks out of the fob holder. It has stuck in the ignition and the car keeps running. You need a pliers to turn the car off and pull out the key. Both key fobs have broken.

I noticed several sounds coming from my vehicle at hiway speeds and during acceleration. Took my car to the dealership. They found an issue with the internal bearing in the transmission. Since it's a hybrid transmission, they said they need to replace the entire transmission instead of the bearing. They ordered parts and were getting ready to fix under warranty and then they realized my car was branded title and said i would have to pay out of pocket $5,750. I declined the repair to get second opinions and to contact ford customer service to see if there was anything else they can do. They said i'd have to pay out of pocket. After doing some more research i found that my problem is a known problem and it affects 2013-2014fusion and c-max vehicles. My car is only at 50k miles, i should not be having transmission issues. Please have ford release recall notices to 2013-2014 fusion and c-max vehicles. Ford needs to be held accountable for faulty transmission bearings and they should fix the problem free of charge just like any other recall that ford has sent out (not looking at the vehicle title). At the end of the day, the dealership had my car for 2 days, found the problem, charged me $225 to tell me that i need to pay $5,750 to fix a known problem.

Twice i have turned right into my driveway and my car has surged forwarded as if hit from behind or the brakes failed. I am obviously at a low speed and the road slopes down slightly. My drive is gravel. It probably surged a good car length before the brakes engaged, yet my foot was on the brakes the entire time. It was scary as hell. The first time i thought i had been hit from behind by another car. The dealer looked at it today and found no issues. I'm not happy with this waiting to happen again as i have no idea what sequence of events caused it before. The first time was about a month and a half ago and the other time was one week ago.

The door latch failed while stationary.i opened the door and it would not close.the car had already had all the door latches replaced in 2016 because of the recall issuedfor door latches failing.the "new" door latch failed due to the same problem the recall was supposed to correct.

Driving into work in the morning on a 3 lane busy road, the "stop safely now" alert came on and the car stalled.it came to a complete stop while i was in the middle lane of the road with cars rushing around me to be on their way.i had to get out of the car and, with the help of some good samaritans, push it to safety across 4 lanes of traffic into a commercial parking lot.the car would not restart.i had it towed to the dealership where it was held for 7 days and they told me it "just started working over the weekend and we don't know why it failed because there weren't any error codes to read".here is the report from the dealership:"towed in wrench light came on and stop safely light came on alsocaused byno crank, no start. Self test, 20 dtc s.cleared dtc s. Started ok after dtc s cleared.road tested & retested, dtc s did not return.needs to be driven more."i have played phone tag with the ford customer rep for weeks now and i have grown irritated.i do not have any trust in this car to reliably keep myself, my wife and newborn child safe. We feel helpless at this point because there doesn't seem to be any concern or reassurance shown on ford's behalf and we're stuck in a car that we owe more than its worth. The money would feel more well spent had there have been some effort shown by ford to make it right and rebuild our trust in their product. However, this has not been the case and it looks like we're on our own to just deal with this major safety issue as it comes up or drown ourselves in negative equity by trading it in for a car that we can trust. This car is a safety risk to myself, my family and the general public.

Driving at 45 mph and car shut down driving on city street.safety warning popped up that said 'stop safely now'.car coasted to side of the road and had to be towed to dealership.

When ever i stop for gas the car has trouble starting.it also stopped running at a red light. After a few minutes it turned over. Car makes a strange noise when doing 40 mph or more.i don't feel anything different. But it makes a loud noise every couple seconds.

Driving at night, freeway with street lights, very light traffic, car on speed control at 65 mph; about 50 to 75 yards in front of vehicle a plastic shopping bag flew across road approximately 2 to 3 feet above road surface, vehicle sensed the bag, speed control slammed brakes hard enough to set off abs system. Same situation happened a few month later except in the daylight, car slowed dramatically for a plastic bag blowing across the road but did not activate abs system. Talked to representatives at two different ford dealerships but they indicated that they never heard anything like this. Left my name/number but never heard anything back.

I was driving 55 mph on a 4 lane divided highway with eco cruise on when the vehicle just started to slow.no error light on the dash other than a brief flicker of the air bag warning light, all electronics, brakes and steering seemed to be working, but the accelerator pedal was very slack and there was no response when i repeatedly floored it.i rolled to the shoulder, turned the vehicle off and then on again, and it seemed to be working ok.it has not happened again in approximately 200 miles of driving, mostly at highway speed.however, it is the kind of event that causes one to worry about the vehicle safety - especially as this vehicle has already had 4 recalls for other types of issues.

The design of these windshield wipers is a concern to me. In moderate rains, at moderate speeds (45-50 mph) visibility is poor due to the way the wipers move from outside to inside, leaving a large portion of the windshield "unwiped" for a longer period of time.however, today at freeway speed, there was a sudden downpour. My wife had the wipers on high, and there was nearly zero clear visibility through the windshield because of the way the wipers were wiping. She was fortunate that an accident did not occur.i did a quick search on the internet, and we are not the only ones to notice this. Something needs to be done to correct this safety issue.

Inoticed water dripping from the driver side dashboard onto my shoes while driving. When it rained, water was in the floor board and since i park on a hill, it was going up under the seat and saturating the back floor board as well. I had received a crack in the sunroof from a tree branch so thought the water was coming in from that problem. Took it to a collision center for them to tell me it wasn't coming from the crack but the windshield is separating! i also don't understand why there isn't any rubber seal to prevent this from happening. Very dissatisfied with this vehicle, has had over a dozen recalls, seems like ford doesn't want to fix these issues. I've called and asked about all of these issues, someone was supposed to call me back, but we all know how how that turns out. As soon as i get these issues fixed i'll get a new car and it won't be a ford!

Driving on concrete highway at 72 mph. Heard a rumbling sound like a nearby motorcycle coming from the right rear. Car is front wheel drive. Disengaged the cruise control, slowed and pulled to the shoulder. Discovered that the entire tire carcass had come off. Only the sidewalls were still attached to the wheel. Tire had about 10,000 miles on it and was probably at 32 psi cold. Goodyear eagle ls2, 235/45r18 94v.

These low profile tires and rims are terrible. I barely have 35,000 miles on this vehicle and i've had to replace 3 tires due to hitting a pothole or roadwork. It can't withstand regular ware and tear! this vehicle has cost me more money and time wasted from all the recalls, the lifting of the windshield and paint lifting off the front hood.

The car's chrome lug nuts are actually chrome caps over the steel lug nuts and they were all swollen up to the point two tire shops could not take them off without damaging them in autumn of 2017. On january 29, 2018 i bought 20 one piece chrome lug nuts from the auto zone store for $60.90 as dewey ford said ford does not have one piece available, then wrote ford motor co. A letter asking for reimbursement.i also told them i had already replaced eight capped nuts on 7/29/2016. Ford denied payment claiming it to be a maintenance item. I paid $34.24 for replacement capped nuts which i did not make a monetary claim in the letter but i do want them to pay me back for those also. I am claiming ford knew the capped nuts are an ongoing problem and i need to be paid $95.14. I do have the bad lug nuts which they or you may examine if wished to do.
