Takata recall - we received a recall notice from ford and contacted the ford dealership in june 2018. We were told that the dealership would have the part to fix the airbag in september 2018, and we were given a rental car in the meantime. It is now 8/30/2018, we called the dealership to find out when we can have the car fixed and were told it has been pushed to the 4th quarter, so now sometime in october - december 2018. The car is sitting in our driveway, now with a dead battery, and we planned to give it to our newly licensed 16-year-old. This has been an unreasonable amount of time and is causing my family hardship.

Above car shows light indicating that passenger seat airbag is turned off when my wife is seating in seat. This occurs approximately one out of five times. The light does not go off. Being a hazard to my wife i had crater lake ford, medford, or check it out. They did the factory tests for calibration and found no problems. They said my wife does not weigh enough. Her weight is approximately 98 pounds. They further said it is a "safety factor for the airbag not to deploy in an accident since there would be more harm from the airbag than otherwise".a ridiculous statement since the airbags are protection against hitting windshields or other hard objects in the car. Would you please help me resolve this issue with ford. Note- a complaint was filed with ford factory on 7/29/15. No resolution from that complaint.

I purchased my vehicle 6/6/2018 as of today 82/2018 my air conditioning has stopped working 6 times. The wires under the dash are extremely hot and there's a "burning smell" coming through my vents. Tonight every time i shut the car off and turned it back on the air conditioning didn't come on. The wires that are connected to the blower box apparently have a short on it. It goes off while in motion and stopped. This alone isn't safe for an individual but highly unsafe for children that ride in the vehicle

Seat: heating element in leather seat went bad. Temp was greater than 150 degrees.air conditioning: blower motor fan control went out 2 times within 600 miles (82,100 and 82,600)

According to ford car needs hcu unit and ecu. Just had the car fully serviced and new brakes all around. Tires are new as well. Ford wants $3000 to replace the hcu and ecu and drain the brake fluid. I think i'm gonna have to scrap the car.

This is 3rd of 3 complaints because car was taken to dealer three times for three incidents with same symptoms.(i don't recall the temperature.wunderground.com recorded 10 deg f as the low.) as with the first incident on feb 16, the following occurred: started car from being cold overnight.let engine run no more than 3 minutes prior to backing out of drive way.made two successful stops.drove 3/8 mile from last stop while traveling at 30 mph.slowed to make right turn on desired street because traffic light was green.while turning brake warning light illuminated.abs failure, stability control and traction control failure lights illuminated.vehicle was very hard to stop with foot brake.loss of all power assistance for stopping.but was easier to stop since repair from previous repairs on 2/16/15 and 2/23/15. Dealer recorded abs system test and diagnostic pinpoint test for the third time, contacted hotline id 108388128, for abnormal diagnostic pinpoint testing, connector access, c135 and c1602, performing abs bleeding and calibration twice, with abnormal circuit testing, load test while measuring voltage drop across circuits cca22 and vca22, per hotline, both elements are bright with no measured voltage drop, also abnormal road testing and verification due to intermittent concerns, before and after repairs, replaced the abs control module, performed programmable module installation and calibration again, ppt, p8, road test, verified repairs.currently, with 28673 miles on march 21, the vehicle has performed flawlessly since this 3rd of 3 service visits.

Today from a stop, turning right out of parking lot on to city street into right most lane, during acceleration in turn, power steering lost; followed immediately by several audible warning tones and message center reporting service advancetrac and service steering. While caught of guard, was able with effort to straighten vehicle, and recover without incident. At next light, put car in park, turned vehicle off and then back on. Immediately received warning tones and message center reporting service advancetrac and service power steering now. Vehicle as no power assist and effort is high to steer vehicle. Not clear how both systems "failed" at same time. But loss of safety feature for stability control and increased effort to steer requires more response time for routine and if required evasive maneuvers to avoid a collision. The mileage is approximately 28,600 miles, and this is the firstissues with this vehicle. Last routine maintenance and multi-point inspection was completed at 24,200 at dealer in april.

I was driving normal and all the sudden my power steering went out and i got two alarms on my dash. Service power steering now, and traction control warning.

4/18/17 i went to leave my home in my 2012ford fusion hybrid and as i pulled out of my house and proceeded to my first stop light, i was in motion going downward on a slight hill in my neighborhood and i noticed my breaks just drop to the floor and break pedals seemed to stiffen in their flexibility and i was headed straight for a red light. I was extremely terrified and did the best i could to maintain the car under my control.. I noticed the dash was full of red lights saying 'check break system ' and abs lights were on as well ass 2 traction control llights. Had weather conditions been different and my son been in the car this could have posed a threat to our lives. It's extremely dangerous and quite unpleasant to imagine what feels like loosing your breaks. But i don't believe this is the case!! up until now i have not had any issues with my breaks, never shown any signs to be concerned with abs the car has 32k miles on itshouldn't need breaks or master c it's a faulty absmodule.. I don't believe anything is actually wrong with the car. After i pulled over i turned car off and back on after checking in out a few times i started the car and noticed it looked normal for a second unlike other trys so i started to drive breaks felt fine came back up like normal and car worked but after 20 seconds of driving it' cut back out flashing red warning signs and beeping. Breaks sink down and become hard to control. I see this is common problem i need this fixed i'm extremely up set how after 32k this goes out and is not a small fix.

This is 2nd of 3 complaints because the car was taken to the dealer three times for three incidents with same symptoms.temperature was -3 deg f exactly as was on the previous complaint.started car from being cold overnight.let engine run no more than 3 minutes prior to backing out of drive way. After two successful stops and while accelerating to around 15 - 20 mph, brake warning light illuminated.abs failure, stability control and traction control failure lights illuminated (left off stability control warning from previous report).vehicle was very hard to stop with foot brake. But was easier to stop since repair from previous week on 2/16/15.dealer recorded abs system test, c0022, abs pinpoint test p, circuit test brake booster solenoid, intermittent brake booster solenoid operation per ppt p6, replaced the brake booster assembly per ppt p7.

Vehicle lost power steering one year ago and dealer repaired.vehicle lost power steering again.warning light came on as soon as i turned the wheel on the first corner that power steering and stability needed checking.once vehicle was turned off and back on again, lost all power to the steering making it extremely difficult to steer the vehicle.very dangerous situation and apparently what they did to fix it the first time was not effective.i see there is some sort of recall on the 2012 ford fusion hybrids but despite all the complaints nobody has effectively addressed the issue.

When trying to start the car from park, all lights illuminated, car would not turn over. Let car reset, and able to turn it over. Drove to dealership. Not able to find codes for problem. Fuel canister repaired.

Without any issues in the 6 months i've owned the car, the engine shut down. The battery appeared full. Gas tank is full. After only driving for 1/4 mile, the stop safely now warning light came on and car shut down. Luckily we were right next to a convenience store and were able to get away from traffic. If we were on a 2 lane road, we would of been stuck in the middle of traffic. We were able to restart and move 10 ft at a time. Still waiting for diagnosis.

Several times when on toll road at legal speed car warning light came on and engine stopped/stalled, pulled over to side, turned engine off, and it started.took it to dealer who replaced transmission pump (?) i took car out again and same thing happened. Read newspaper accounts of nhtsa investigation of escapes and fusion stalling issues, but dealer after second occurrence said they had no information on any investigation. I am very reluctant to drive car after my personal experience and after reading of possible investigation pending.

Engine failed at stoplight with loss of power steering on 6/26/16.restart successful.subsequent multiple engine failure chimes occurred.dealer "repaired wiring".several hundred miles since, not further incidents (engine failures or multiple chimes).

The contact owns a 2012 ford fusion hybrid. The contact stated that after reversing the vehicle, the gear shifter failed to shift into drive. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact called roadside assistance. The tow truck driver arrived and repaired the vehicle. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000.

I pulled my car into a parking spot, using the brake pedal to stop the vehicle and position it in the spot. I removed the key from the ignition and exited the vehicle, assuming the vehicle was in park because i had been able to remove the key from the ignition. Unfortunately, the car was not in park--but was still in drive mode. The car slowly rolled backwards, hitting another parked vehicle behind it. In subsequent attempts to repeat the issue, i was able to remove the key from the ignition when the car was in drive mode--both when the car was stopped and when it was in motion. Ford has failed to address the situation, despite my outreach to their legal department. When i took the vehicle to a ford repair center, they tried to charge me upwards of $400 for what is clearly a serious vehicle malfunction.

Seat: heating element in leather seat went bad. Temp was greater than 150 degrees.air conditioning: blower motor fan control went out 2 times within 600 miles (82,100 and 82,600)

When trying to start the car from park all warning lights illuminated, car would not turn over. Let car reset, and able to turn it over. Ford self system check via dash cluster will show brake and hybrid electric charging system problems but will reset itself after next key cycle. Not able to find codes for problem. Owned car approx 8 months, experienced problem 4 times all within 1 month.

Picked up the car from the dealership on monday (9/25/12) after they found something wrong and was drivingon state route 228 at 55 mile per hour.warning chime sounded, pull over safely warning came on, engine shut off, brakes and accelerator disengaged, and all dashboard lights illuminated.put hazards on for cars behind me and pulled over quickly avoiding a sign on the right side of the road.after 10-15 mins, i was able to restart the car by letting it reset.after getting green car indicator,i went to turn around to go back to the dealership. The car jumped forward and stalled in the intersection of state route 228 and buck hill rd.i was able to have it start, jump, and stall two times (enough to get me out of the intersection).upon arriving the dealership, they could not find any codes that were disrupted.the service manager contacted ford tech line and drove it home for a few days to try to activate problem.could not activate, car returned with instructions to have it towed here and do not restart it when it breaks down.

Traveling on crowded highway when cars ahead stopped; my brakes when thump thump thump then i rear-ended the car in front of me.car did not slow down at all.fortunately no one was killed or seriously injured, but my insurance will definitely go up.taking the car to the dealer on monday morning.

The contact owns a 2012 ford fusion hybrid. The vehicle was repaired under ford's customer satisfaction that was related to nhtsa action number: pe14030 (steering). The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph, the brake system warning, advanced tac, and abs warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence. The contact powered the vehicle off and back on; however, when the vehicle was placed in reverse, the contact depressed the brake pedal and the pedal went to the floorboard and failed to stop the vehicle. The vehicle continued in reverse into oncoming traffic and nearly caused a crash. The contact powered the vehicle off and back on and the brake pedal returned to normal. The contact drove the vehicle to an independent mechanic, however, the mechanic was unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake drum was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 73,800.

Was backing car out of garage to take it for an oil change and 10,000 mile check.all dashboard lights illuminated , warning chime sounded.not able to engage brakes or accelerator.stopped car by putting it in park.no response of trying to restart. While driving to natural bridge, va on interstate 81.warning chime sounded, pull over safely warning came on, engine shut off, brakes and accelerator disengaged, and all dashboard lights illuminated.immediately put on hazards and tried to pull over.avoided signs and maneuvered car safely to a speed where i could stop car by putting in park.attempted to restart car.when able to obtain ?green car? light (as indicated safe to drive), put the car in drive and pushed accelerator.car jumped forward and stalled.able to restart car after 10-15 mins.after this occurred, car was having trouble accelerating and was shaking while driving.could not have it towed back to dealership due to location.contact dealership right away and brought it to them as soon as returning home (april 15th).demanded it to be fixed before returning car.unsafe and unacceptable dealership could not get codes or reactivation...dealership in contact with ford tech service who informed them to change the battery to try to activate.they did this and within 10 mins of driving it tech reported warning chime sounded, pull over safely warning came on, engine shut off, breaks and accelerator disengaged, and all dashboard lights illuminated.ford tech service contacted again who informed them to check all fuses and wires.dealership could not find any problems.dealership ordering new part today to test.

According to ford car needs hcu unit and ecu. Just had the car fully serviced and new brakes all around. Tires are new as well. Ford wants $3000 to replace the hcu and ecu and drain the brake fluid. I think i'm gonna have to scrap the car.

While driving away from my curbside parking spot to go to work, the dashboard lights started flashing and said something along the lines of "break system failure" or "check break systems", and i was unable to brake at all. I managed to change course and pull over and let the car stop on its own. Once stopped, i turned the car off and then back on again. I tried to slowly move and then brake, at which time the brakes were successful and stopped the car. I drove the short distance back to my house and took an alternate vehicle. This is incredibly concerning considering i carry my wife and three children in it and we frequently take long road trips to see family. Had this happened on one of those trips, especially while driving long distances on freeways that tend to bottleneck, the results could have been devastating, not just for us but also others.

The check engine light had illuminated.called the dealership and scheduled an appointment to bring it in that day.driving at 45 miles an hour, again, warning chime sounded, pull over safely warning came on, engine shut off, brakes and accelerator disengaged, and all dashboard lights illuminated.pulled to the side of the road and shut car off.i was too far from dealership to have it towed and was working (i travel for my job).called dealership, they said to bring it in.able to restart it after 2-3 attempts.brought it to the dealership.no code for no start or shut off but code for fuel canister.problem addressed, fixed, and car returned to me. Could not activate, car returned with instructions to 'have it towed here and do not restart it when it breaks down. After, this incident, i traded cars with my brother (who works 5 miles from home) so that he could easily have it towed if it were to occur again.

When leaving my driveway the brakes failed to function properly and i almost rolled into a car on the street. I came to understand that the power assist failed.but the experience was that theydidn't work until the brake pedal was nearly to the floor, and very soft.i drove slowly forward and they continued to not work.i turned off the car and had it towed to a dealer for service.apparently when the service people turned on the car the brakes worked and they couldn't get the problem to repeat, but the computer on the car logged a brake incident.ford wouldn't do anything for me and told me to keep driving the car until it happened again.they said if they fixed something they would give me a "false sense of security".in searching online i found this identical problem had been part of a recall on earlier models (2010) that was a software glitch.

Car was being driven down steep driveway by my 88-year-old father. He says car accelerated without him giving it gas. He is backed up by black box, which says no pressure on accelerator. He also says brakes didn't work, which is not backed up by black box, which says no pressure on brake either. Car left driveway, hit tree, and ended up approx 200 yards down steep hill. Black box says rolling occurred. Only passenger side curtain airbags deployed. No front airbags deployed and no driver side curtain airbags deployed. Injuries to both him and his companion resulted in hospitalization to both.

Temperature was -3 deg f.started car from being cold overnight.let engine run no more than 3 minutes prior to backing out of drive way.made two successful stops.drove 3/8 mile from last stop while traveling at 30 mph.slowed to make right turn on desired street because traffic light was green.while turning brake warning light illuminated.abs failure and traction control failure lights illuminated.vehicle was very hard to stop with foot brake.loss of all power assistance for stopping.dealer recorded abs system test, c0022, abs pinpoint test p, circuit test, excessive resistance between pins 17 and 31. At abs module connector c135, 3.3 ohms, trace, removed and installed pcm and master cylinder to access and repair wire circuits cca22 grey with yellow and vca22 green with brown, green corrosion at connector c1602 pins 3 and 4 near the brake booster solenoid connector.

The contact owns a 2012 ford fusion hybrid. The contact stated that the abs control module failed and caused irregular braking. The contact had to depress the brake pedal with force to stop the vehicle. The dealer (star ford lincoln, 1101 s brand blvd, glendale, ca 91204) stated that the abs control module needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. Were notified by mail regarding passenger airbag recall.found out about steering wheel issue.unable to drive car.been at least 2 years

The steering just lost the assist. I had to pay $1800.00 to get it fixed. They had to change out the whole front axel or drive.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2012 ford fusion hybrid. The contact received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 19v001000 (air bags). The contact stated that the manufacturer failed to provide the part within a reasonable timeframe. The contact had been waiting to schedule an appointment with lorenzo ford (30725 s federal hwy, homestead, fl 33030, 1-(305) 307-8039) for over two years. A loaner vehicle option was not offered. The vehicle was also included in field service action number: 15n01 (epas steering efforts), but the contact had not received a notification via mail. The manufacturer was contacted to address part availability and the manufacturer field service campaign. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

A month and a half after having a mysterious power steering failure, the same thing happened. The ford fusion hybrid 2012 had been parked in front of my house. When starting it up, the "service advance trac" and "service power steering now" warnings and lights came on, and the power steering was dead. The vehicle was driven to a local ford dealer where they determined that a steering gear needs to be replaced, but they refuse to associate it with the recall (nhtsa: 15v340000 | ford: 15s18) for this exact issue because it didn't show up on my particular vin.

Power steering failed at low speed (5 mph) in heavy traffic.warning messages were "power steering assist fault" and "service advancetrac."drove car about ten miles to my destination without power steering (very difficult).turned off and restarted but problem had not cleared.tried again next morning and the power steering worked.the "service advancetrac" message cleared after about five minutes of driving.

Several times when i have been driving or just starting to drive my power steering has gone out.i then have to turn the motor off and restart the engine and then it will be alright.twice i had pulled out of my garage and started forward it went out and another time i had stopped at a stop light and started to go and it went out again.i was on a city street at the time.

While turning after coming to a stop, the vehicle traction control and power steering warnings popped up and car lost all power steering ability.the vehicle was no longer safely operable while having no listed error codes.the vehicle has been estimated to require replacement electronic power steering gear at a $2000 price tag.

Vehicle was slowing down from 35mph to take a rh turn into parking lot.upon initiating turn, power steering failed & service advancetrac warning light illuminated.failure occurred as vehicle had started turn, creating an immediate high-force pull to the left and requiring corrective driver action to continue with the right turn or impact cars in the parking lot.driver was able to continue turn and bring vehicle to a safe stop, albeit very difficult given grip strength required to maintain turn on steering wheel without power steering.upon

Power steering stopped working while traveling at 40 mph. Other warning lights came on simultaneously, including abs braking system warning light. Difficult to maneuver vehicle. Took car to torrington ford service, where they hooked the car up to diagnostic computer that confirmed problem. Once engine was shut off and turned back on several times, problem went away. On june 5, 2015, power steering stopped working while traveling at 45 mph. Same warning lights came on and car was difficult to maneuver. Will take to ford service.

I was driving normal and all the sudden my power steering went out and i got two alarms on my dash. Service power steering now, and traction control warning.

Mechanical clunking noise when initiating turns, either direction.diagnosed as steering gear failure but as not a failure related to the ongoing recall.

In 2015 ford motor company had 80,000 fusions recalled because of defective electric power steering control. After 40000 vehicles were officially recalled the ntsb backed off and gave ford motor company a get-out-of-jail-free card because no one had died as a result of this defect. My vehicle was not one of those recalled but two months ago my power steering failed and for charged me over $1,600 to repair it.this is grossly unfair. My steering failed just as i was pulling into my driveway so it did not cause an accident for me.

Power steering has shut down while the vehicle was operating making it very difficult, near impossible to steer. I had the car serviced at a ford dealer per recall # 15v-340 performed on 8/25/15 but the issue has re-occurred.in both incidents, the vehilce was in motion with the power steering went out. The problem was resolved by turning off the ignition and restarting the car.

The contact owns a 2012 ford fusion hybrid. While driving various speeds, the steering failed and the power steering warning indicator illuminated. Sheehy ford of marlow heights(5000 auth rd, marlow heights, md 20746, (301) 298-0793) diagnosed that the steering sensor system needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 150,000. .consumer stated diagnosed communication had a problem and steering wheel was hard to turn. Dealer had car for 23 days month later same issue. Vehicle was never looked at. Recall was mentioned by the consumer by dealer did not acknowledge it. Consumer has contacted the manufacturer.

While driving on a country road at night, the "service advance trac" warning and lights came on. The next morning, when starting the parked car, the "service power steering now" warning appeared and the power steering was dead. A few hours later the vehicle would not start. The vehicle was towed to a local ford dealer where they reset the computer and tested it, unable to replicate the error. They failed to mention that a recall (nhtsa: 15v340000 | ford: 15s18) for this exact issue is out because it didn't show up on my particular vin.

Upon exit off of expressway, car gave message "power assist fault 1" blinking.lost power steering, also advance trac notice started blinking with picture of skidding car.total steering loss occurred in stopped traffic as tried to turn corner.manual difficult steering returned if car was moving.parked car and visitedfriends.after 2 hours returned to car and after starting everything worked.no more messages.car was serviced on july 3rd for 10,000 mile checkup by kindle ford previous to incident.when called kindle fordon 7/29 day of incident, said they couldn't do anything as car was working and message gone.need to wait until happens again.am totally terrified to drive my new $32,000.00 car.

The contact owns a 2012 ford fusion hybrid. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the power steering seized without warning while steering through a curve. As a result, the vehicle crashed into the side of a tree and went down into the canal. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed and no injuries were sustained. The vehicle was towed to a salvage yard. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 47,000.

Driving down the road, going around a curve, power steering failed. Was able to control control the car and drove home slowly. Extremely difficult to make turns onto side streets. There was no warning prior to the incident and though ford issued a recall approx 1month prior, i had received no notice. The dealership replaced the steering rack and have been unable to fix the problem. Will update when receive further information.

The contact owns a 2012 ford fusion hybrid. While driving 5 mph, the advance auto trac and power steering assist warning indicators illuminated. Also, while making a right turn, the steering wheel seized. The contact attempted to steer the wheel, but it failed to steer properly. The contact turned the vehicle off and back on, placed the vehicle in reverse, and then drive; however, the steering wheel failed. Aaa was contacted and towed the vehicle to heritage ford (2075 edsel ln nw, corydon, in 47112, (812) 738-3284) where it was diagnosed that the steering needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact to call nhtsa to file a complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 166,000.

The contact owns a 2012 ford fusion hybrid. While driving approximately 35 mph, the power steering, service power steering, and service advance track warning indicators wereilluminated. The ability to steer became very difficult. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the power steering gear needed to be replaced. The approximate failure mileage was 147,000.

While driving car about 30 mph and beginning a turn, the power steering went out almost causing me to hit a tree. I feel this is an unsafe condition and could cause accidents.

Power steering failed while driving this vehicle, and it cost over $1,600 to repair. Ford motor company claims this vehicle was not included under nhtsa campaign number 15v34

I was driving at medium speed on a suburban street and an alert popped up on the dash: power steering assist fault. Power steering then shut off.fortunately, the street was straight and i was able to decelerate and wrestle the car into a parking lot.if this had happened while i was turning, or when i was on the highway (and would need to navigate several lanes to stop) i would also likely have crashed.car is 24 months old with just over 40,000 miles.(not far out of warranty.)car had no prior mechanical trouble whatsoever, and had been regularly serviced by the dealer.when i turned the car off and on, it behaved normally.i brought it in for service the next morning.ford recommended replacing rack and pinion, $1800 repair.i think they should have covered this, as it is a design flaw and a serious safety issue.there was no safety problem until the computer decided to shut off the power steering!

Engine failed at stoplight with loss of power steering on 6/26/16.restart successful.subsequent multiple engine failure chimes occurred.dealer "repaired wiring".several hundred miles since, not further incidents (engine failures or multiple chimes).

Fusion's power steering stopped working as i was turning a curve on a country road and i almost lost control..inside of the trunk's lid is rusting with only 15,000 miles on the vehicles

Power steering first failed in the beginning of november 2013.there was 20083 miles on the vehicle.we were driving the car in our subdivision and all of a sudden alarms started and the car was very hard to steer.we were able to force steer the car back home.we shut off the vehicle and started it up again and the power steering started working again.the alarms and warning lights also went off.we brought the vehicle in to our local ford dealer and they indicated there was nothing wrong.we then had a second event on february 21, 2015 where the power steering failed again.the mileage was 40163.we shut off the vehicle and started it up again and the power steering started working again.the alarms and warning lights also went off.we brought the vehicle in to our local ford dealer and they indicated there was nothing wrong again.on march 12, 2015 multiple alarms activated and we completely lost power steering and almost got in to an accident due to heavy traffic and the inability to steer the car properly.we were very close to a ford dealer and was able to force steer the vehicle into the parking lot where we were then assisted by the service department.diagnostics indicated motor rotation angle sensor internal electronic failure and failure of electronic steering system.the epas system was found to be defective and several parts needed to be replaced.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2012 ford fusion hybrid. While driving various speeds, the steering wheel seized and the power steering warning indicator illuminated. While pulling down my driveway lost power steering. Power steering assist fault message showed on dashboard. Had vehicle tested on machine and the following error codes. U-3000, c-200b and c-200c. Also charging system was checked and was told bad diodes in alternator.

The contact owns a 2012 ford fusion hybrid. While driving 20 mph, the contact's husband attempted to turn the steering wheel, but was unable to because it was stiff. The contact heard an abnormal noise and unknown warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was towed to matthews currie ford (located at 130 n tamiami trail, nokomis, fl 34275, (877) 405-7194) where it was diagnosed that the steering gear needed to be replaced. I was driving and my steering wheel became very stiff.about 30 minutes later there was a red alert on the dash stating service power steering. Then about five minutes later another alert came on and it was yellow that said service advancetrac. After that happened i drove home and the next morning when i got in my vehicle to leave the steering wheel was completely locked. Even though it is 2019 i understand the car has years on it but after only having it for three months from the dealership i am extremely upset.

I just went out to my car, got in, started it and noticed my door lock button was funky. Then went to open my door and it does not open, it is broken! i have to roll down the window and open it from the outside - not okay.i am the only one who drives my car and i take very good care of my car.i went to the internet and found lots of complaints about the door handle breaking.is there a recall for a 2012 ford fusion?i only saw one for the fusion starting in 2013.

Fusion's power steering stopped working as i was turning a curve on a country road and i almost lost control..inside of the trunk's lid is rusting with only 15,000 miles on the vehicles

Have found online that there are two recalls in process on my vehicle that the dealership did not notify me of. Also, there is a problem with the car surging forward when accelerating from a stationary position. This poses a hazard of me accidentally hitting anything in front of me when taking off.this has been happening ever since i leased the car in may of 2018. I do not remember how many miles were on the car at the time.

While turning after coming to a stop, the vehicle traction control and power steering warnings popped up and car lost all power steering ability.the vehicle was no longer safely operable while having no listed error codes.the vehicle has been estimated to require replacement electronic power steering gear at a $2000 price tag.

As i was driving down the highway at 75 mph, my control panel starting lighting up with a brake light, abs light, and traction control light. I was terrified that i wasn't going to be able to stop. As i approached the next exit, i tried stepping on the brakes but it was like pushing on air for a good 10-15 seconds before my car would come to a stop. Once the car stopped it would continue to roll slightly. I happen to be taking it for an oil change that day so i had them look at it. I have attached a picture of what the codes read for them. My regular mechanic asked that i take it to a ford dealership. I haven't been able to drive my car to work for a few days because i am a teacher and haven't been able to get it to a ford delaership. After reading articles online and finding this specific article https://www.forbes.com/sites/jensen/2018/04/24/brake-failure-feds-investigate-whether-ford-should-recall-one-million-sedans/#ca8321370c67 i feel that there should be a recall on this very dangerous, scary problem.

Above date and mileage is an estimate.the second incident occurred on 11-29-14. Stop safety hazard warning light comes on. (indicates hybrid component fault/failure that will cause the vehicle to shut down, fail to start or enter into a limited operating mode).vehicle looses power.pulled to side of road.turned ignition off.waited a few minutes.restarted car.this has happened twice in the two years that i have owned the vehicle.the initial time was less than a year prior to the second incident driving at the same speed.vehicle mileage at the time of the second incident was approximately 14,234.vehicle was taken to a local ford dealership after the second incident for check.description of work done:-several scans were done -code hybrid power train control module was disabled. -no reason why.could not replicate. This has happened multiple times so it is not a coincidence. It is a dangerous safety hazard in traffic.

On 2/27, when i tried to open the driver's door to get out of my car, the door would not open. I tried unlocking it to no avail.i had to roll down the window and use the outside door handle to get out. (car was parked in a parking lot)when i took it to the dealer for repair, i was told extended warranty does not cover repair, as there is no recall and it is not a mechanical failure, read your contract.so apparently safety is not an issue to the ford dealership service department.

Issue with blower motor shorting out and smell of melting plastic from blower motor cabling.blower motor replaced once and has since gone out again due to same issue in less than 1 year.

Driver side door latch is broken and not secure. We see a recall to include 2013-2014 ford fusion, but ours is a 2012. It looks like same issue. Complaints.com shows a complaint list here: https://www.carcomplaints.com/ford/fusion/2012/accessories-interior/door_handle_failure.shtml

I have 15,500 miles on my fusion and was informed by ford (window sticker) that i would have 41 miles per gallon in the city and 36 miles per gallon on the highway. A saving for the increased prices of the hybrid of $1,421 each and every years. I was lied to by the staff at the skillman ford dealership, i am lucky to get 32 miles per gallon, the same as a regular fusion.i lost money and will not be able to sell the vehicle for the price of a hybrid.ford motor company cheated me out of money and lied on the window sticker.
