I know of two other incidents that same kind failed, ford basically said prove it. No safety defect listed.

I have had problems with the wiper in my vehicle since purchased they only come on intermittently. I have taken it to the dealership but they are unable to repair it. I have also have a air bag light go on and off they can't seem to fix either.

The fire started under the hood in the evening hours while parked and in the off position. No one was sighted near the vehicle at the time.proper authorities were called and investigated the incident.the "hot spot" of the fire appears to be in the power distribution box under the hood of the vehicle. The vehicle is a total loss. This vehicle was used all day and parked for many hours before the fire ignited.

Vehicle experiences continued problems with suspension stability and control, several replacements of suspension/steering components...tie rod/s bent/broken causeing to lose control at low speed (thank god i wasnt going faster at the time) wheels flopped on its sides continued 4 wheel alignment and replacement of several front end, arms, joints, tie rods, front end repairs costing $1500... Plus...vehical sways all over the road and pulls right and then pulls left with a lot of play in steering wheel after several 4/wheel alignments. I have had the vehical into courtsey ford mattydale ny several times now to fix front end problems \ this is a very dangerous situation and should be definitely a recall on the ford expiditions. Futhermore, all wheel drive / 4 wheel drive often is locked into 4 wheel will not come out of 4 wheel drive.***also, digital dash short or loss of use lights on dash going out including odometer often go out and the turn back on i have seen several complaints regarding all of the above...for the 99 ford expiditions. *** the brake pedal also locks up if/when the tire spin or engine revvs up you try to apply the breaks however, the break pedal will not move it's locked and will not move unlit tires stop spinning or eng. Stops revving...anti-lock problem???

As per oil leak per head gaskets on ford 1999 4.6 and 5.4 engines .the engine was repaired at 30000 + mile for a bad head gasket , now at 80,000 miles it bad again, it's leaking and smoking due to the leak and with speaking with service centers this is very common problem and is a safety issue, for ?engine fire or ???

1999 ford diesel truck oil pan leaks. *mr the oil pan deteriorated prematurely.the consumer requested a fix of the problem and a recall.the consumer has talked to many ford truck owners who have experienced this problem. *sc

While pulling away from a stoplight i heard a tremendous pop.upon inspection i found that the #6 plug had blown out of the head taking the coil pack with it.the entire head had to be replaced.i hear that this is very common with the ford triton v-8 engines which utilize the alluminum heads.

Oil leak noticed on driveway, dealer found passenger-side rear of head gasket leaking.dealer replaced head gasket at cost of $1300, however after researching this problem it is obvious that many other 1999 5.4l engines have this same problem recurring frequently.bought vehicle used and do not know if this component was already replaced prior to purchase (bought at 41k miles).this specific head gasket failure is a common problem for these 1999 5.4l engines, my concern is that this will continue to recur due to defect in manufacturing.

Driving normally when load sound came out from under hood.accelerating slightly to get off of the road sounded like back firing.expedition was towed to mechanics.tow truck operator also mentioned that he himself had towed between 15 and 20 expeditions due to this spark plug problem and we live in a small community. After examining, mechanic explained that one half of the head needed to be replaced due to the spark plug coming out of the head and striping the threads on its way out.he called fellow mechanic that works at ford who told him he has replaced many fords with the exact same problem.threads are not adequate for holding spark plug in head.other damage was done under the hood due to ejection of plug.chances are good that the exact same problem could happen to the other side a direct quote from my mechanic.

There was a super charger inter cooler leak in 1999, ford truck. It was spilling coolant directly into the motor intake. Thiswasa safety/emissions problem with coolant clogging the o2 sensor and catalytic converter. Consumer bought a used vehicle, and recallrepairs were not done.ford contractnoraftermarket service contract covered this problem.

Interior lights, power windows, and windshield wipers do not work which could of caused an accident when it happened when it was raining.

Transmission didn't down shift and stayed in gear when the drive selector was put into neutral.

Vehicle hit in rear. Both seats broke at pivit point.

I applied the brakes the truck was actingas if it was on ice, pulling to the left . Skid marks were left . Istuckaminivan that was crossing in front of my truckat the time of the accident i thought that i had not applied the breaks in time , nowafter 7 more intermittentbrake failures with one of those reasulting in a rear end collision with minor damagethiswas about the thrid failurethu truck was taken to a dealerand they said their was air in the brake line the tuuck was driven untill thursdayjuly 29,1999 when the truck was taken back to the dealerafter more failuers that week and day.a service tech. Drove the truck and experienced a failuer fordwants to let a recording device see what parts are not workingi was told by ford when i called to complainthat if after a certin time the breaks dont faili will be given my truck backwith out any repairs being made . Doessomeone need to die in a brake failure?

Vehicle shakes when brakes are applied; i took the vehicle to the dealership twice, it did not get fixed and another problem presented itself which i had to have fixed as well.i then proceeded to take it to another dealership to get the brakes fixed, they too did not fix the problem; the vechicle still shakes at around 30.

Premature perforated corrosion of entire steel brake line of my 1999 ford expedition eddie bauer 5.4l 4wd was discovered after my brake warning light went on without any perceived problem with braking noted. Inspection of the brakes by a non-dealer vendor revealed a well maintained brake system except for severe corrosion of the entire brake line system with a leak above the gas tank suspected. No repairs were started and the vehicle was immediately delivered to the dealer (al packer ford). The dealer reported that the brake line had corroded through close to the master cylinder and was leaking brake fluid down the entire length of the brake line. Customer has authorized replacement of the entire corrosion ridden brake line setup at an estimated cost of $700.00 + that so far is not covered by ford. The dealer has been instucted to hold all removed parts for inspection.review of reports submitted by others re brake line corrosion and brake failure eventsand report of this event to ford for consideration for coverage as a manufacturer defect in material (inferior steel brake-line susceptible to rust perforating corrosion) did not generate an offer for coverage or technical bulletin advising these components be closely inspected for this potentially life-threatening and unexpected source of brake failure as well as a potential risk for unexpected vehicle fire. I request a technical bulletin and/or recall for inspection for corrosion of brakelines on all ford expeditions. Hopefully we may save some-one's life from tragedy.

This is the most hazadous vehicle on the road. No safety defect listed in summary.

1999 ford windstar rack & pinion failure, 72,000 miles.

Re:ford motor company truck windshields not sealed properlywhile driving in a hard rain, i have a 99 ford expedition and it somehow had water leak into the fuse panel shorting it out, also shorted out the gem and the pcm.there was an electrical burning smell, smoke from dash. There were no flames, however something was burning somewhere. Truck quit running.broke down 165 miles away from home. First we tried a "new" battery, tried jumping it nothing worked.we had it towed to the closest ford dealer - lake ford in lewistown, pa.they say it needs a new fuse panel, gem, pcm over $800 and this doesn't even guarantee a running vehicle.also they say that even if the vehicle does start there will be no airbags!or radio(they were shorted internally).the safety issue i'd like to report is that when this happens the truck cuts out instantly.the first time this happenedapprox. 6 mos. Before this incident .again driving in a hard rain iwas pulling out into oncoming traffic.luckily i didn't pull all the way out in front of the traffic before my truck just quit running.had to push it off the road and a jump got it started this time.at this time i had no idea what caused this.since then i talked to others who have had the same exact problem.they said ford knows exactly what it is and they even have a name for it - they call it "water intrusion".i urge you to have the ford motor company put in a recall on this before someone gets killed out there!.

Have tried since october, 4 months after lease to get this problem corrected, and still not completed to expectations. No safety defect mentione din summary.

On uneven roads the steering wheel turns on it's own and with a moderate to strong wind from the side the motorhome veers left and right.nlm

Servere truck sway using anti-sway trailering bar with 23' trailer

After shipping tire and estimates and photos of the damages as required by firestone, my claim was denied , their reason was: failure due to under inflation. Because we travel a lot with our fifth wheel camper, i regularly checkand keep my tires inflated at the manufacture's recommed (75lbs) of air pressure.firestone has the tire in question and will send it back to me at my additional expense. (ref. No. 028739) the other two tires that blew out had just over 36000 miles. They were also on the rear of the truck. I did not file on these two because they caused no damage to the vehicle. While going over pot holes or braking hard the vehicle would swerve and experience temporary loss of control, possibly due to the tires on the vehicle (no make/model of tire provided).*mjs

I would like to know when they are going to replace these tires before myself or someone else is going to die this is avery fearful when you are driving down a road and you don't even know if the tire tread is goning to fly off, and you and your love ones are dead. Please make a recall before someone else dies,it could be you. ( dot number: tire size: p235/75r15 )

Twice the engine of my 1999 ford pick up has acquired a coolant leak onto the number four cylinder. I believe there has been a faulty repair done or there is a design issue with ford motor company. I dont feel i should have to pay for this same repair out of pocket.

(motor home) it has been reported on several rv bulletin boards on the internet that there is a problem with the new ford truck chassis that is being used in class a motor home production.at freezing temperatures, the cable between the accelerator pedal and the throttle control is freezing.if one is traveling at 70 mph (as one person reported), then the throttle is frozen at 70 mph, and one has no way to reduce speed.shutting off the engine will result in loss of power steering and power brakes.another individual shot over a 20 foot embankment for the same reason.neither had received a recall notice from ford regarding the situation.others have found that ford is not able to provide a timely replacement.a week ago, ford was allegedly reporting that there were no replacements nation-wide.the problem is not limited to any one motorhome manufacturer.it is any motorhomes that are built on the ford class a chassis with the v-10 engine.some who have called ford, state that ford does not seem to think it is a serious problem.i disagree and i would ask that you investigate the situation before someone needlessly dies.thank you.

Interior lights, power windows, and windshield wipers do not work which could of caused an accident when it happened when it was raining.

The turning signal indicator is in the outside rear-view mirrors, the silver glazing on the back side of the mirrors is coming off, making it virtually impossible to see using these mirrors, replacement cost 440.00 dollars.

Driver side powered trailer tow mirror defective, lower angle section glued on wrong and installed incorrectly causing the mirror to crack and visual problems.

I have had problems with the wiper in my vehicle since purchased they only come on intermittently. I have taken it to the dealership but they are unable to repair it. I have also have a air bag light go on and off they can't seem to fix either.

I almost died as a result of my windshield becoming covered with salt and my being unable to see through it.my windows were frozen shut so i couldn't open them and look ahead at the road.my windshield wipers did not clear off the salt.the fluid would not spray.

Interior lights, power windows, and windshield wipers do not work which could of caused an accident when it happened when it was raining.
