My daughter driving her 2018 ford focus hatchback was involved in a high impact front end collison at approximately 35 mph at impact. The focus hit a suv who suddenly made a complete stop for no reason on 40 mph road. The impact was a direct hit to the focus's front bumper flush with suv's back bumper. The driver's side knee airbag was the only airbag to deploy and the my daughter (driver) was taken by ambulance to the nearest hospital, suffered multiple compression fractures of the spine, injuries to multiple intervertebral discs, an apparent knee ligament injury, and other superficial bruises, cuts, and scraps to the hips, legs, shoulder, chest, and arms. The hood ended up bent in half like an "a" frame, the windshield was cracked, most of the front end was pushed into the engine compartment, and the steering wheeling housing was cracked. The ford focus is a total loss. During extraction of the driver, the fire and rescue cut power to the vehicle to prevent the steering wheel air bag from deploying. They remarked to the driver that the steering wheel and side airbags should've deployed with the amount of impact to the vehicle and injuries sustained by the driver. My daughter has been in the hospital 3 days and is awaiting a back brace and knee brace and appointments with a neurosurgeon, orthopedic surgeon, physical therapist, and pain management. There was no indication of a warning light for faulty air bag and the vehicle had approximately 30500 on it and was still under the original manufacturer's warranty. A copy of the police report is pending release at this time.

Our focus was hit by a car.the vehicle hit the focus primarily in the area of the driver's side door. The door was pushed in/crumpled approximately 18-20 inches overall, intruding into the passenger compartment. The window shattered. The damage to the fender was significant enough to distort the front bumper. The "pan" or area immediately below the door was bent approximately 6 to 8 inches toward the midline of the car. The force of the accident spun' the focus approximately 180 degrees resulting in the focus colliding with a guardrail.the force of the impact with the guardrail bent/distorted the body of the car and caused significant damage to the rear bumper and brake light assembly.the extent and expense of repairing the damages necessitated the car be considered "totaled" by the insurance company.the reason for my complaint/registration of concern is neither the front or sidewall airbags deployed despite the severity of the accident. Part of the decision to purchase the focus was based on the safety features including the airbags. In hindsight, had we known of the airbag's propensity to fail to deploy during an accident of this severity, our buying decision would have been different.the airbag's failure to deploy should be examined for adequacy of purpose for which they were designed.

On december 12th, 2019, i was involved in a three-car fender bender on fairfax county parkway in virginia. I was traveling in slow-moving traffic at 7:20am, close to reston hospital, when the two cars in front of me slammed on their brakes unexpectedly and i unfortunately could not brake in time to avoid hitting the car in front of me. The car directly in front of me was a toyota suv and had a tow-bar, which took most of the impact of the crash and caused damage to my vehicle. Aside from some minor scratches, both of the other cars involved in the accident were fine and the two drivers were able to continue on their ways to work. My car, on the other hand has been declared a total loss by my insurance company as it immediately burst into flames upon impact. As i mentioned above, the traffic was slow-moving so we were not traveling at more than 25-30mph at any time on that stretch as we navigated the traffic. This should have been a very low-impact and minor incident; however, for some unknown and unexplainable reason, the ford focus was on fire before i even knew that i had crashed. The impact was so minimal that no airbags deployed. Firefighters were onsite within 5 minutes and had difficulty putting out the blaze. In addition, i was still in the car while it was on fire because it happened immediately upon impact, so while i was lucky to walk away without any physical injuries, i was immediately taken to the ambulance to monitor my vitals and try to control my shock. I realize that there have been recalls of ford focus vehicles purchased in 2017 and prior; however, i strongly believe that the safety concerns raised in previous lawsuits against ford pertain directly to the 2018 model as well. We had already replaced the clutch in the focus after a year and a half because of a transmission failure also noted in previous years.

I'm unsure if my vehicle has the defective takata inflators:my vehicle was in motion, under power and traveling greater then 32 mph exiting a highway onto a city street. While turning left, i either turned to wide or the other vehicle turned to close and my driver side front qtr impacted the passenger front qtr of the other vehicle.the impact energy was so significant that the damage was on the left front qtr, the front and it transferred through the vehicle and my passenger side looks more damaged then the drivers side.so much so that the passenger door wood not open.i hit my head on the steering wheel, was violently thrashed around in the vehicle and then hit my head on the driver window.the impact was so significant that the transmission was completely destroyed, the engine broke free from its mounts, the cooling system failed and even my titanium glasses were broken when i hit my head. Yet, the air bags did not deploy and the vehicle had only 4197 miles on it - brand new!!!i've contacted ford, filed a claim and they were nearly useless in helping with evaluating the air bag deployment failure.they even connected me to dealerships to have the vehicle taken to, only to find out that they didn't even have technicians, towing or even a body shop.i've called several times and restated the concerns and spoke to a couple of call center people without any help and even tried the online chat tool and it keep freezing up.the vehicle is a total lost, i have head, neck and tissue trauma.i've explained this to the call center and they basically have been unhelpful....i have nearly 30 years in automotive and the bags should have deployed and keep me from injury!!!

When coming from a complete stop at a red light upon pressing the gas to put yhe vehicle in motion again , it stalls before taking off. The airbag under the steering wheel deployed when my knee bumped it. When putting gas in the car the car will not start back up , it starts n turns off on its own.

I have a 2018 ford focus se that is less then a year old and it bogs down, acts like its going to stall out and doesn't get the gas mileage it's suppose too. It bogs down when i am driving it and when driving it will spit and sputter like it's going to stall out on me then snaps out of it. Ford keeps telling me that nothing is wrong with it.

Each time i fill the car with gas, even with the tank half full, the car stalls and has trouble starting. I have checked for clogged or cracked fuel lines and there are none. It puts out the code p1450. Replacement of the fuel tank pressure solenoid and it's still having the same problem. I have read that there may be a recall of some sort on the fuel system in these cars.

Head lamp service fault .you lose all power to the headlights and your key fob does not register. Meaning you can just hop in the car with no keys and drive. Also the car turns off while driving

The 2018 ford focus ti started to give me problems when braking and accelerating, the fist was when taking off at a stop light, the focus accelerated more when slowing down and braking to a car in front of me, it was like i was hitting gas pedal and brake at the same time. After that on the same day i was driving up a hill and it was accelerating with out pressing on the gas pedal i hit the brakes again and it finally stopped, when i got to my destination i put the car in park and again press the brake it revved up to 3000 rpms and did not stop until i press the run/stop button. I was on my way to work on 8/25/2020 about a mile away the engine light comes on so i turn around to leave it home then my vehicle stalled all of the sudden with no warning other than the engine and oil lights caming on, i towed it to the dealership for adiagnosissame day and this morning of 8/26/2020 i received a call from the dealers shop and they are stating that the oil pump went out and ruined the battery and now i have to replace the battery on the vehicle, now im concerned because i did not get any warning from the engine, no smoke, no rattling or shaking and the weird thing is that it cranks but wont start, it just stalled and it turns out to be a blown engine.

When trying to accelerate after decreasing speed it shoots up in rpm and will barely move until i let go of gas and allow it some time. It's as if i'm revving my engine with the the brake applied. Its slowly getting worse. I'm up to date on all my maintenance and the car is at approx 17500 miles. I bought the car brand new in august.

There are more than a few faulty purge valve and similar type valves on the ford focus possibly causing excessive vacuum in fuelvapor management system. The excessive vacuum may result in an engine stall while driving,. Without warning and without the ability to restart the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.and yet my year model and motor size did not make that list.but yet i have this problem on my2018 ford focus se only @ 40,0000 miles . This could have been a huge safety issue w/ my young college student driving all hours of night on back roads due to her schedule. She had no warning no check engine light nothing. She was very lucky this did not stall on the highway. She could have been rear-end or who no what else. I bought this vehicle in october of 2018. The transmission has started to fail, with shuddering, stalling and jumping at accelarations. This is the second focus model that i have had difficulties with.

I got the vehicle on 4/30/2019, one month later, the vehicle began with issues. After you come to a full stop and then you let you foot off the brake and press the accelerator to go forward, the car shakes / vibrates. I have already taken my vehicle 3 times to the dealership about the same issue, the issue does get fix but after a month, the same issue begins again. The dealership told me that this problem will happen every month, i was never told about it before i bought/finance the vehicle. Also my vehicle is not getting the proper full mileage it should be getting

A full tank is 160 miles. And has a smell when the a/c on. Engine light on but can't find the problem.

Check engine light is on. Service dept identified problem codes p1450, p0456 which are under recall but the vin for my car is not under recall. Recall notice warns, engine could stall at anytime! called ford customer relations center, nothing done because vin is not under recall. Cannot drive car because it is unsafe. On fixed income, cannot pay for repair out of pocket. Please help. Thank you.

The transmission has been skipping which caused a belt to break inside the engine and then the oil pump went out. Had an oil change around july 1st and nothing was wrong. Ford claims it was my fault because i was over 2,000 miles on an oil change.

The vehicle is hard to start after i work a 10 shift.after it is started, it runs rough and tries to die.the only way to get it to stop running rough is to get it to highway speed for about 10 minutes.i have to rev the engine up with my foot on the brake just to get going.it has tripped the check engine light.i took it to auto zone to have them check the code.it says that it has something to do with the cannister purge valve.i have included the report from auto zone.i also did a search on the internet for 2018 ford focus recalls and it came back with the canister purge valve.apparently my engine hasn't made it into the recall yet because nothing came up when i searched my vin.i am afraid that i am going to try to cross a road and the engine dies right in front of oncoming traffic.

My car started having a clutch shudder before it was a year old. I took it to the dealership the first time and they thought it was the adaptive learn feature, and reset the computer. It was still doinf it and i took it back within a week. I was told its a ford clutch problem, but until it gets bad enough to register in the computer i had to keep driving it. Then the gear shift cable broke, it came out of the transmition and had to be fixed, at the same time i had the clutch re-checked and it finally registered bad in the computer and was replaced. 1 week after getting the car back it strted overheating and had to go back to the shop (8/7/19), i also realized while driving to the dealership that the car had burnt through around 1/2 tank of fuels in a little over 60 miles. I was told the cooling fan just stopped working and was replaced.

This is the 2nd time i am having the same issue. They replaced the clutches. I drove the car a couple of weeks and am having the same issues with surging/lugging. Now, it is happening in lower gears and when i accelerate to higher gears. It is now happening when i am in reverse, too.

My car started having a clutch shudder before it was a year old. I took it to the dealership the first time and they thought it was the adaptive learn feature, and reset the computer. It was still doinf it and i took it back within a week. I was told its a ford clutch problem, but until it gets bad enough to register in the computer i had to keep driving it. Then the gear shift cable broke, it came out of the transmition and had to be fixed, at the same time i had the clutch re-checked and it finally registered bad in the computer and was replaced. 1 week after getting the car back it strted overheating and had to go back to the shop (8/7/19), i also realized while driving to the dealership that the car had burnt through around 1/2 tank of fuels in a little over 60 miles. I was told the cooling fan just stopped working and was replaced.

The engine stalled once on august 20th, 2019 while driving on the interstate. On 3-28-21 i got an oil change. Shortly after my engine light came on with error code p1450 which it didn't have beforehand. We first took the car to a mechanic and he said that the code is consistent with a known recall for that year and model for a problem with the fuel system. We took it to a ford dealership to get an evaluation done and they confirmed that the problem was consistent with the recall the mechanic mentioned however there is no recall for my vin number. When we put gas in the tank and turn it on again, the engine stalls. It runs rough when idle and sometimes has a problem getting up to speed from sitting at traffic lights.

Stuck canister purge valve (may cause stall). Mine always triggered p1450 "unable to bleed up fuel tank vacuum" code after filling at gas station. I purchased and replaced the canister purge valve from ford in midland, mi. This should have been a recall part and i should not have had to purchase! this design is flawed and all models with this design (and all years) need to be added to the recall. This could have been very dangerous if it stalled at a bad time.

Our 2018 ford escort has the same problems described in:nhsta campaiign #18v7350000 recal id 298184 but this vin is not on recall. We pulled out into traffic and the car just died luckily it was not on a highway. We need to keep the tank as close to full as possible and fill the gas tank at the coolest part of the day and it takes a while to get the car started. One time after filling the tank we had to wait 15 mins and the car ran fine then it just died, nearly getting rear ended by a tractor trailer. That was on 4-20-21 and otyher times before.

Evap purge valve went bad. There is a recall on focuses 2012-2018 for the purge valve but not my particular vin. I have owned this car for 26 months. I don't expect something like this to go bad that soon. Repair not covered under the emissions warranty nor the power train. This defect caused my engine light to come on, the car to run rough and prompt several engin codes.

My 2018 ford focus st is having the same issues as the current campaign 18v735. On occasion the vehicle dips down on rpms as if its going to stall on start up. Its not recorded as current recall on my vin but i believe the same issue is occurring.

Scan code p1450..according to ford 1.28 million of this type vehicle had a faulty gas vacuum valve (?) that had to be replaced. Although i'm having the exact same problem the dealer has stated it's 'not their problem'.

The excessive vacuum may result in an engine stall while driving,. Without warning and without the ability to restart the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.and yet my year model and motor size did not make that list.but yet i have this problem on my2018 ford focus se only @ 40,0000 miles . This could have been a huge safety issue w/ my young college student driving all hours of night on back roads due to her schedule. She had no warning no check engine light nothing. She was very lucky this did not stall on the highway. She could have been rear-end or who no what else. I believe this should me ford manufacturing issue and that it should be added to safety recall list

While driving at highway speeds in even mild wind or turbulent air from traffic the car has a loss of stability. The car was purchased in winter and as soon as conditions improved for highway speed to resume we found out.we do not feel the car should not be used for highway driving. When getting off the highway intermittently a vibration occurs as well as when traveling at 50mph occasionally feeling a drive line vibration feels like it comes from the right front wheel. So far the car has been to 2 dealers and they both acknowledge the issues and then say that this is proper that when driving a new focus from their lots they are the same.

The 2018 ford focus ti started to give me problems when braking and accelerating, the fist was when taking off at a stop light, the focus accelerated more when slowing down and braking to a car in front of me, it was like i was hitting gas pedal and brake at the same time. After that on the same day i was driving up a hill and it was accelerating with out pressing on the gas pedal i hit the brakes again and it finally stopped, when i got to my destination i put the car in park and again press the brake it revved up to 3000 rpms and did not stop until i press the run/stop button. The next day i was driving and did a hard stop it about stalled with rpms going down to 400 and fluctuating up to 1200 rpms, with all this was going on my brakes felt soft then hard, the transmission also clicked two times when hard stopping.

Automatic transmission surges while driving like it is searching for proper gear. Put in parkon hill sometimes car will start to rollthen transmission catches and holds in place. When go to back in to park take stop take out of drive to neutral then to reverse like it is still in neutral give a little accelerator and it will catch in reverse.these problems are intermittent and not all the timewhile driving.the drivingand parking on hill issue is a couple months.the reverse issue is a year or more.

Car been defective since purchased september 2019. Haven't did car fax on vehicle since this was my first time at the dealership.

Vehicle began losing power while accelerating and then when suddenly jerk forward. This happened on a city street, trying to go just 25 mph. Transmission light came on. Upon taking vehicle to the dealership they determined that the clutch was faulty and needed to be replaced. Car currently only has 6,200 miles on it. Not feeling great about this purchase.

From a complete stop (due to stopped traffic on the highway or while at a stop light), acceleration causes the vehicle to hesitate, rapidly increase rpm, and shudder/shake violently. Hi i took my car into the dealership for the transmission and they told me that the 2018 ford focus has the same clutch as the old 2012-2016 ford focuses and that they'll change the clutch and that they're is no real fix. I seen that the 2012-2016 ford focus has a recall for the transmission however the 2018 doesn't have a recall through the nhsta and it is the same transmission and that the dealer says people need to notify the nhsta as it is a recurring problem and that they change many clutches and transmissions on the 2017-2018 and that the problem keeps persisting the same as the 2012-2016 models. The transmission will slip from first to second gear, the steering wheel vibrates, and the transmission will also grind while driving.

This is the 2nd time i am having the same issue. They replaced the clutches. I drove the car a couple of weeks and am having the same issues with surging/lugging. Now, it is happening in lower gears and when i accelerate to higher gears. It is now happening when i am in reverse, too.

2018 ford focus se sedan recalls.i recently got a 2018 ford focus se sedan in november of 2018. It periodically hesitates when i accelerate and i was in the middle of driving the other day on my way home and not only did it hesitate when i began to accelerate on a 30 mph street but it also began to slip and did not want to move for about 5 seconda when i was pressing on the gas, it was beginning to slow down instead of maintaining the speed it should have been when i was pressing the gas pedal. My car started having a clutch shudder before it was a year old. I took it to the dealership the first time and they thought it was the adaptive learn feature, and reset the computer. It was still doinf it and i took it back within a week. I was told its a ford clutch problem, but until it gets bad enough to register in the computer i had to keep driving it. Then the gear shift cable broke, it came out of the transmition and had to be fixed, at the same time i had the clutch re-checked and it finally registered bad in the computer and was replaced. 1 week after getting the car back it strted overheating and had to go back to the shop (8/7/19), i also realized while driving to the dealership that the car had burnt through around 1/2 tank of fuels in a little over 60 miles. I was told the cooling fan just stopped working and was replaced.

When driving, the car will shutter when changing gears.also in march 2021, radio, backup camera and usb ports stopped working. Dealership said that it wasn't covered under warranty and paid over $800 for a new radio to be installed.

My car started shaking when taking off. Looking into it i found out it is a know problem with a bad transmission that is the ford focus. It was recalled in previous years but ford said they fixed it in the new models. I can't afford to take it to a shop to have it replaced so i just have to drive it hoping it get recalled before my transmission goes out. The problem is with the transmission it shudders from 1-2 gear. They were forced to recall the manual version because of this problem but not the automatic as of yet. When the car is off and in park you can turn the tire back and forth and hear the gears clanging back in fourth in the transmission which is not normal. I don't have a mechanics report to submit. It happens every time i drive it. While at this point it isn't a safety concern of it progresses or the transmission goes out while driving it could be.

Takata recall. My car is only 8 months old and already has had the clutch replaced. It is showing signs that my 2014 did for it's recall.it is acting like it is going to stall and actually stalled on me in the middle of the highway 17 just south of maysville nc while i was driving.my 2014, cella ford in new bern, nc kept saying it was not under recall until it stalled out in the middle of a bridge, almost causing her to get rear ended with my daughter and granddaughters on the car.

There are supposed to be 2 bolts on the back of the driver's side seat. 1 close to the door and one next to the console. I looked and noticed that there was no bolt in the machined hole closest to the rear of the center console. I noticed this while the car was stationary, while i was vacuuming the floor.

One of the 2 rear bolts that bolt the rear of the driver's seat to car floor is missing. I noticed this when i was vacuuming the car out. The seat is only bolted a 3 points and is a major security issue.

When coming from a complete stop at a red light upon pressing the gas to put yhe vehicle in motion again , it stalls before taking off. I bought my 2018 ford focus hatchback on 06/23/2018 and on 09/03/20 i had to have my front and rear rotors and brake pads replaced. The rotor was cracked and they were really rusted. Making my car undrivable. This makes me sick that ford uses such cheap parts that i myself as a poor michigander had to replace rotors and brake pads within 2 years of buying a brand new car.

Transmission clunks and shudders at times when driving.while engine running in the stop position, brake peddle goes to the floor.

The 2018 ford focus ti started to give me problems when braking and accelerating, the fist was when taking off at a stop light, the focus accelerated more when slowing down and braking to a car in front of me, it was like i was hitting gas pedal and brake at the same time. After that on the same day i was driving up a hill and it was accelerating with out pressing on the gas pedal i hit the brakes again and it finally stopped, when i got to my destination i put the car in park and again press the brake it revved up to 3000 rpms and did not stop until i press the run/stop button. The next day i was driving and did a hard stop it about stalled with rpms going down to 400 and fluctuating up to 1200 rpms, with all this was going on my brakes felt soft then hard, the transmission also clicked two times when hard stopping.

Even after cooling down the engine, the power steering still did not work. I was backing out of a parking space in a parking garage when the steering locked up on the vehicle.i was unable to turn the steering wheel to drive the car.there was no message or alert on the vehicle dash.i had to wrestle the steering wheel with great difficulty to get the car in position to be towed, as the vehicle was undriveable. The dealership determined that the electric assist power steering rack had failed and needed to be replaced.since the vehicle was 2 months out of warranty, i had to pay for the repair ($2,840).if the steering failed while driving on an interstate, an accident could have occurred.

The 2018 ford focus has been in the repair shop four times for a check engine light relating to the vaper/vacuum hose, sensor over the past couple of months. In addition, the focus now has a broken steering gear. I was driving on the city street when it went out, and thankfully no other vehicles were near.

On december 12th, 2019, i was involved in a three-car fender bender on fairfax county parkway in virginia. I was traveling in slow-moving traffic at 7:20am, close to reston hospital, when the two cars in front of me slammed on their brakes unexpectedly and i unfortunately could not brake in time to avoid hitting the car in front of me. The car directly in front of me was a toyota suv and had a tow-bar, which took most of the impact of the crash and caused damage to my vehicle. Aside from some minor scratches, both of the other cars involved in the accident were fine and the two drivers were able to continue on their ways to work. My car, on the other hand has been declared a total loss by my insurance company as it immediately burst into flames upon impact. As i mentioned above, the traffic was slow-moving so we were not traveling at more than 25-30mph at any time on that stretch as we navigated the traffic. This should have been a very low-impact and minor incident; however, for some unknown and unexplainable reason, the ford focus was on fire before i even knew that i had crashed. The impact was so minimal that no airbags deployed. Firefighters were onsite within 5 minutes and had difficulty putting out the blaze. In addition, i was still in the car while it was on fire because it happened immediately upon impact, so while i was lucky to walk away without any physical injuries, i was immediately taken to the ambulance to monitor my vitals and try to control my shock. I realize that there have been recalls of ford focus vehicles purchased in 2017 and prior; however, i strongly believe that the safety concerns raised in previous lawsuits against ford pertain directly to the 2018 model as well. We had already replaced the clutch in the focus after a year and a half because of a transmission failure also noted in previous years.

The car engine shuts off (or fails) without any warning while driving. This has happened randomly on numerous occasions since we purchased the car in january of 2021. Today the check oil light and check engine light both came on prior to the engine just completely shutting off while driving and would not restart. There was also a strange engine noise accompanied by the engine running ā€œroughā€¯ prior to engine failure. We had to get the car towed. We looked up recalls and there was a recall for our make/model/year but none associated with our specific vin #. However the recall described our same issues. We would like this investigated as this is very dangerous, unexpected and concerning. The incident happened in a busy city , on a busy road during work hours. The car is currently at a ford dealership awaiting inspection but we were already told there are zero recalls for our vin #.

As i was driving on the interstate, i heard a loud pop.no other vehicles were around at the time.i opened the sunroof cover and noticed it was shattered.i pulled into the gas station to see that there was a large hole in my sunroof.

Engine and all electrical power suddenly stops while driving with no warning. Car shows "starting system fault" when key is turned. After about 30 minutes everything restarts but the car only goes a few miles before cutting out again. This failure is extremely dangerous. We took the car to town and country ford in nashvilletn on monday july 26,2021 and picked it up on friday july 30. They said it had been repaired, i drove approximately 6 miles and was on a 5 lane highway doing 60mph when it happened again. I was lucky to safely get to the side of the road. Since the air conditioning and windows also stopped when the heat index was 105 degrees that represents another possible danger. On sunday july 25 the engine light came on, but being sunday there was no place to read the code. After the first failure occurred about 10am monday we had the code read as a p1450. As i hadn't had any experience with fuel system/ emission control we decided to take it to the above dealer. At the time of the friday failure there was no code or warning. This failure method is extremely dangerous as a car may suddenly stop running in high speed traffic. I have no idea what wouldhave happened if i had been going uphill. Also if the service tech cannot detect the problem it may be widespread. Vehicle is currently in the dealership.

I was on my way to work on 8/25/2020 about a mile away the engine light comes on so i turn around to leave it home then my vehicle stalled all of the sudden with no warning other than the engine and oil lights caming on, i towed it to the dealership for adiagnosissame day and this morning of 8/26/2020 i received a call from the dealers shop and they are stating that the oil pump went out and ruined the battery and now i have to replace the battery on the vehicle, now im concerned because i did not get any warning from the engine, no smoke, no rattling or shaking and the weird thing is that it cranks but wont start, it just stalled and it turns out to be a blown engine.

There are more than a few faulty purge valve and similar type valves on the ford focus possibly causing excessive vacuum in fuelvapor management system. The excessive vacuum may result in an engine stall while driving,. Without warning and without the ability to restart the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.and yet my year model and motor size did not make that list.but yet i have this problem on my2018 ford focus se only @ 40,0000 miles . This could have been a huge safety issue w/ my young college student driving all hours of night on back roads due to her schedule. She had no warning no check engine light nothing. She was very lucky this did not stall on the highway. She could have been rear-end or who no what else. I believe this should me ford manufacturing issue and that it should be added to safety recall list

My 2018 ford focus st (~8k miles) has been having issues with rpms suddenly increasing when shifting gears. For example, two weekends ago, i was shifting from second gear to third gear and my car went up by 3000 rpms after i let my foot off the throttle. On its own! this issue has been happening intermittently usually when the car is hot (about an hour or so ride) and exaggerated when the floor heating is on. I thought it might have been a valve issue but found multiple forum posts with this exact problem and how a lot of st owners went through multiple dealerships to get their throttle pedal assembly replaced to permanently fix the problems. Exploding sunroof - traveling south on i-5 at a speed of 60mph in tacoma today (7/5/2018) in my brand new 6 month old 2018 focus rs and just passed 56th street exit.suddenly with what sounded like a gun shot, the sunroof exploded and i was covered with glass as the sunroof cover was open.fortunately i had a hat on otherwise the very small shards might have gotten into my hair, eyes and face. Pulled of the highway and took a couple pictures.the damages from the exploding glass caused additional damages to the roof and wing of the car.this is currently estimated at over $2600 in damages.not to mention the clean up the the interior car will need.thank god my kids weren't in the back seat as they would have got the brunt of the glass.

I was driving normally and the engine shut down with no warning (lights on the instrument panel went off) then came back up.not long after this, i came across an article that suggested a current recall could be to blame for this but my vin is not included in this recall.it should be.(date of occurrence is approximate.)

The horn goes off after the car is locked with the key fob. No known way to stop it.

This is the 2nd time i am having the same issue. They replaced the clutches. I drove the car a couple of weeks and am having the same issues with surging/lugging. Now, it is happening in lower gears and when i accelerate to higher gears. It is now happening when i am in reverse, too.

We bought the car on july 13 2019with only 7 mile on the odometer.within 2 weeks of having the car it breaks down while driving it and had to get a ford to tow it to the dealership they had it 2 days and replaced the something in the transmission at the time of it breaking car would only operate in reverse.dealer ship fixes the car give it back less than two weeks later while driving to pick up my husbay from work was stopped for traffic and when i started to rolled ahead again the transmission light came on with transmisson failure and again car would only drive in reverse.back to the dealership this tim they had it a week and replaced the transmission clutch motor and give it back.they said it should be fine now.while driving yesterday to pick up my husband from work,the car lunges forward at a high rate of speed for a few seconds and then the engine just revs when given car luckily no one was infront of me when it jerked forward and it was still moving enough to pull it off the road and out of traffic however the driver behind me cursed at me for driving that last part of the time only at 15 miles per hour.now without a car all weekend cause the dealership service department is closed and they cant issue a loaner car until they reopen on monday morning.

The lcd screen is totally black. No visible controls without screen.

Both of the rear side windows had moulding that was loose, the first tech at schicker ford said that they were all like that, the next day i went back and talked to another tech who gave me the same answer.i sent photos of the loose molding, then the tech said he would have to get fords approval beforeit could be replaced.after about a week ford gave approval to replace them.the tech. Said that ford would not authorize for a loaner to be provided to me, so i had to wait three hours before the job was completed. This is a 2018 ford focus se.

My transmission clutches. They hesitate , shutter and it never wants to move and has already been repaired twice.

When changing gears the clutch is shaking the car and making a grinding noise. It appears to creating problem on the lower gears such as gear 1 and 2

Service engine light indicated evap,very small leak. Reset code and a different code came up for a vacuum in the fuel tank. Unable to effect repairs my self and made an appointment at cardinal ford dealership. 11400 new halls ferry rd. Stl, 63033. Attached documents detail repair and cost.

On 3-28-21 i got an oil change. Shortly after my engine light came on with error code p1450 which it didn't have beforehand. We first took the car to a mechanic and he said that the code is consistent with a known recall for that year and model for a problem with the fuel system. We took it to a ford dealership to get an evaluation done and they confirmed that the problem was consistent with the recall the mechanic mentioned however there is no recall for my vin number. When we put gas in the tank and turn it on again, the engine stalls. It runs rough when idle and sometimes has a problem getting up to speed from sitting at traffic lights.

2018 ford focus se sedan recalls.i recently got a 2018 ford focus se sedan in november of 2018. It periodically hesitates when i accelerate and i was in the middle of driving the other day on my way home and not only did it hesitate when i began to accelerate on a 30 mph street but it also began to slip and did not want to move for about 5 seconda when i was pressing on the gas, it was beginning to slow down instead of maintaining the speed it should have been when i was pressing the gas pedal. I was on a city street when this happened.

My personal car had a battery die - i called the dealership and i got it towed-the dealership gave me a rental car for the day -when i started to work with the rental car i started feeling sick within 15 minutes but kept driving to work - (a 45 minute ride) i was at work for 15 minutes and then headed to an appointment- i got confused and started hallucinating - i pulled over on the side of the road - for about 4 hours i was going in and out of consciousness- i was rolling my windows up and down because i didn't feel good which the doctor said that is what saved me - finally i got back in the car because of my daughters concerns - i had to stop the car and started violently throwing up blood - at that point my daughter took me to redi med - they thought i was having a stroke and got me to the hospital - when i got to the hospital they took blood work and hooked me up to ekg and then took me for a catscan - my blood work came back with high levels of carbon monoxide poisoning and then i was on oxygen for 2 1/2 days - this whole thing was a crazy experience

I bought the vehicle on 08/21/2021 which is 3 days ago the vehicle has 57k miles on it and i quickly found out why. I realized when stopping at red lights and then trying to accelerate when the light turns green the car boggs down like its stuck in a mud pit and then suddenly flies out of it. I almost rear ended a vehicle and then almost got rear ended. I had the same issues going up and over a mountain. And believe me if they had a return policy like wal-mart it would've been returned the same day.

My boyfriend got this car april 13 of 2020 and about a month and a half after we got it it statts acting up... Not shofting out of lower gears. Shuddering . When you stop at a stop light for too long and go to take off it almost stalls. We almost got hit because of it! it sounds lile gears are grinding or like we are dragging something under the car. We have taken it in twoce to get checked and the forst guy that srove it around the lot sais something was wrong woth it nut aftwr they had it on the shop for about an hour ans a half they bring it back to us the second time and say nothing os wrong woth it.... It is getting worse and worse. Is statted out just not wamting to shift from second gear now it doesnt even wanna shift out of first most the time. 45000 miles. There should be no issues woth this car.

When driving, the car will shutter when changing gears.also in march 2021, radio, backup camera and usb ports stopped working. Dealership said that it wasn't covered under warranty and paid over $800 for a new radio to be installed.

When my car is running and sitting idle at an intersection,it stutters ans hesitates to accelerate.when i am driving on the highway and i beed to sliw down or speed up; my car stutters and hesitates.

The issue happens off and on when you use the accelerator pedal the throttle keeps accelerating up to several minutes after you completely take your foot off it. I first noticed the issue a month aft buying the car brand new and it's been consistently happening for over a year now. I have taken it to ford twice already and they tell me there is nothing wrong with it. I noticed the problem the first time on a highway off ramp when the breaks seemed to not be hardly working. When i put the car in neutral the breaks started working just fine and the car instantly started red lining. The issue since then has happened in town on the highway even when parked. Seems to happen more often when its colder out but still happens when 90 out. I have taken two videos of it so far.

Manual transmission.while in motion, going through gears during acceleration, clutch pushed in, foot off gas, rpms go up anywhere between 500 and 1500 for several seconds before dropping.if you don't clutch in, car continues to pull as though the gas pedal is stuck and the "shift up" light stays on.

Sometimes when i run the car early off in the morning i usually let it warm up. But even though i do that it seems like it kind of like struggles if i accelerate slowly, and i'm doing so it kind of like jerks the vehicle forward a couple times until it just clicks. That's for the,for the speed control i think i put it under. As for the other issue i will take it to autozone and i needed to get codes because my check engine light is on. And now i'm wondering if it's under recall, because the code p0456, evaporative emissions system and it says there's small leak or it's considered a small leak so i'm just wondering but if you guys can please tell what it could be that would be awesome

I got the vehicle on 4/30/2019, one month later, the vehicle began with issues. After you come to a full stop and then you let you foot off the brake and press the accelerator to go forward, the car shakes / vibrates. I have already taken my vehicle 3 times to the dealership about the same issue, the issue does get fix but after a month, the same issue begins again. The dealership told me that this problem will happen every month, i was never told about it before i bought/finance the vehicle. Also my vehicle is not getting the proper full mileage it should be getting

With a flat tire on the side of the road wheel lugs can not be removed with supplied wrench because the wheel lug nuts nave a soft metal cap that does not allow the supplied wrench fit the lugs after the tires have been rotated by dealer or any one because the lugs become distorted .
