Dual fuel tanks: the rear tank is pumping gas into the front tank until it spills out. This vehicle was repaired for this problem about one year ago.

1990 ford f-150 truck has duel fuel tanks; fuel is pumping from the back tank to the front tank and over spilling through the fuel cap onto the ground. Letter from manufacturer dated 7-19-2001 states that this is not a safety recall and therefore they will not correct problem. Question: how can recalls from 8-15-1989 and 8-2-1993 which caused overflow and spillage be approved as a safety recall; yet the 7-19-2001 issue which results in the same overflow and spillage not be approved as a safety recall? problem with the overflow started in october 2007 -- fuel spilled due to cross tank fuel flow. At this point, only one tank can contain fuel and the other tank must remain empty for the spillage to cease.

Replced exhaust manifold three times; also, replaced intake manifold/ oil pan gasket/rear main seal.

Avery dangerous condition with my ford f-150 involving the fuel line/gas tank surfaced on 4/27/01 in my attached garage.after the vehicle was stopped in the garage, significant quantities of gasolinewere found to be exiting one of the two fuel tank caps on to the floor. Tomball ford replaced the components causing this safety hazard in jan 1996 under ford recall 93s68.it is obvious the recall did not work.!!these facts have been verified by cillis car care, 13650 schroeder rd, houston, tx 77070.according to tomball ford, they say they are not obligated to once again repair the components of the fuel system on this vehicle.i demand that the d.o.t. Act on this situation immediately.my truck should be repaired correctly at no cost to me.further, for the safety of the public, ford should be requiredto conduct another recall and perform recall 93s68 properly!!!!!

1990 f150 already involved in recall for "faulty check valve causing fuel leaks"other 1990 model trucks were involved in the "stuck throttle linkage". Both of these are safety issues.the third problem is both power door locks failed at about the same time.

My 1990 ford f150 is doing the same exact thing as mentioned in this nhtsa campaign #93v125000 but ford sais it's not on their recall list?

The reason for my complaint is that my truck has a damaged check valve. I have spent my own money to try and fix the problem, yet it still does not work properly. What is happening is i have a daul tank system. When i switch my tank to the rear it pumps gas to the motor but also pumps gas into the front tank causing it to overflow, thus creating a potential fire hazered for my wife and kids. I called ford and they said there is no recal on such a deffect. Yet my mechanice pulled up a document off his computer under the(2000 mitchell repair information co. L.l.c.) under safty recall #93s68 which addresses this very problem. I beleve it is severe enough to bring it to your atten, and am asking you to get ford to fix this defect before my truck goes ablaze.

I have a 1990 ford f150 truck. On 3 different occasions fuel from the back tank has flowed over into the front tank. On all three occasions, i have gone to my truck to find gasoline all over the ground. I still had to put a bucket under the tanks fillers to allow the excess gas in the front tank to flow down.on two occasions i had the truck parked in the garage. The gas that flowed out covered almost my entire garage floor. On the third occasion, enough gas had flowed from the tank to reach my lawn. If someone had come to my home smoking, or some other ignition source was to have come in contact with it, my house would have burned to the ground. I now have to park the truck outside for fear of it causing my house to burn.

I am an otr truck driver and i am very aware of problems with all vehicles that i drive.i came back to my work terminal and noticed a very strong smell of gasoline coming from my truck.i looked under it and saw that the rear fuel tank was leaking quite obviously from the seam.i contacted my local dealership and asked if there was a recall on the fuel tank, he said no.i then was told to contact ford and i asked if they had a recall on this vehicle and they said that the vehicle had been through a recall fix back in 1993.i hardly think that a fuel tank that was repaired would start leaking 6 years later, especially from the seam on the tank.i was told that my bumper to bumper warranty was up and that ford would not take care of my problem.dear sirs, i have two children and a wife who depend on me to provide the best care and protection.how can i protect my family from companies that don't care about anyone and only care about their pocketbook.

Ford has a recall on this but apparently where this truck was built, it is not included in this recall, campaign # 93v125000. How can they recall over a million trucks, knowing that there is a problem with this part and not include a truck that is having the same problem.

Vehicle taken to dealer on (3) separate times. Dealer did not correct problem. Vehicle taken to another dealership. Problem was corrected.

The contact owns a 1990 ford f150. The contact stated that there were two fuel tanks in her vehicle. Recall 93v125000 concerningcheck valve failure. The vehicle had dual fuel tanks, and when the rear tank was in operation fuel spilled out onto the ground. The fuel was exiting from the fuel filler. Consumer's vehicle was not covered under the recall due to vin.

When using the rear tank, fuel is being pumped back into the front tank.when front tank is full, fuel being pumped from the rear tank goes into the front tank which causes the front tank to overflow.recall issued for this problem, but this vehicle not included due to vin.*ml

I have duel tanks, over the past year the fuel moved from 1 tank to the other tank.now the fuel if left to full. Will discharge from the filler on the other tank. I cotacted ford, and got no help.

Fuel tank started leaking fuel from one tank to the other causing fuel to over flow and out of tank onto the ground, after two attempts problem was corrected.

My 1990 f-150 has two gas tanks.for the past week the gas has been going back and forth between the two tanks.i know this because i can fill the front tank and put 1/4 tank of gas in the rear tank.then an hour later the rear tank is holding the gas from the front tank.the big problem happened today when i filled the rear tank and then put $5 worth in the front tank.i had a 70 mile drive home. Within the first 20 miles the rear tank which i had filled, was reading 1/4 full!so i switched to the front tank which was empty except for the $5 worth of gas i had put in.however, the front tank was now reading full!obviously the gas had gone somehow from the rear tank and up to the front tank.by the time i got about half way home, the cab of the truck was full of fumes.i stopped and got out because i developed a terrible headache.there was gas pouring from the underside of the truck.upon closer inspection, i realized the gas was spilling out from the rear tank at the area where the gas goes in at.when i checked the gauges the rear tank was now full (remember 30 minutes earlier it was only 1/4 full and the front tank was reading full),.the tank was obviously over full because it was spilling out from the area where the hose goes in to fill the tank.

Tires on my f150 show abnormal wear on the outside edges. Ford says this is due to the suspension. Ford does not have a fix. I claim that this is a suspension issue, not a tire issue. I have since bought a new checrolet tahoe. Could this issue be related to the tire issues on current ford suv's? i think that the tires are not the problem rather ford supspension is the problem that causes abnormal tire wear and heating of the tires, esp. In texas. This wears the outer edges of the tires, eventually causing the outer tread to fail or seperate from the tire.
