Vehicle security module- this module controls door locks ( fob & vehicle in motion auto door locks), auto headlamps, safety door ajar indicators, all interior electrical auto lamp & radiofeatures. All these items on vehicle are inoperative due to faulty module (vsm). False safety indications are being displayed. Original part # is 2c7t-15k602-aj, replacement part # is 4c7z-15604-ac. Vehicle has been at dealership almost (2) months. Informed vehicle non-repairable due to unavailability of part from ford motor company. This is a safety item !according to on-line web-sites, high volume of owners are experiencing similar problems. Since this a safety issue ( door ajar indicator & auto head light turning off while driving), please advise remedy. Ford dealership or ford motor co has not shown any interest in repair or part availability.

Original spark plug was ejected from the enginethread on the head was destroyed. Dealer said it is a known issue, but there is no recall issued. Well, there should be one !!!

Thrown spark plug from 2002 f-250.

My f-250 ford diesel truck caught fire while it was parked. Electronic brake control abs module burned and cruised control stopped working. Wiring harness was burned away from the abs module.

This accelerator pedal was replaced by ford in a factory recall on april 2011.at the time the original pedal worked fine but it was changed our anyway.the replacement pedal failed on 12/15/14.during failure, the vehicle engine completely loses power and goes back to idle.during certain maneuvers this is a very dangerous situation, such as accelerating to merge on the freeway or pulling out from a stop sign in traffic.i have read of many instances where this has happened to other ford owners.ford needs to come up with a replacement that is reliable as this is a key component to safe vehicular travel.

This is a problem with f series diesel trucks.i have the 7.3 liter engine which is in many trucks.the failure occurs without warning. The engine simply stops.usually,in my truck,it "restarts" by itself.if it does, the vehicle bucks.when it does not "restart", the engine is now off and i have to shift into neutral and crank the engine.in the meantime, i have no power steering and no power brakes.this is very dangerous in a crew cab, four wheel drive, diesel pick up truck.the last failure, some time in december, was at 30 miles per hour as i was about to enter i95 in biddeford, me.i crossed over the highway westbound on the entrance ramp and the truck died just as i hit the curve which rotates you 270 degrees to enter the southbound lane.i had all i could do to crank the wheel over and make the sharp turn.this problem is due to the cps or cam position sensor.it is a common problem.just look in www.dieselstop.com at the forums.drivers are carrying spares in the glove box!!! i am lucky that my problem is intermittent.for some folks, the truck dies and never restarts.my truck exhibits the problem every few weeks.this is a serious safety problem and needs to be addressed.the financial issues are also an unfair burden on the customer but the safety aspect of losing power at a critical moment is much worse.

Traveling on a busy highway at 65 mph; the spark plug on my 5.4l v8 triton blew out of its socket. (any mechanic will tell you everything you want to know about this)this caused an immediate bang and very rough running condition.as soon as it happened; there was an immediate loss of power which in turn; caused a rapid reduction in vehicle speed.not to mention, the distraction that occurred that caused the lack of focus on surrounding vehicles and other possible hazards.this is the second occurrence of a separate spark plug blowing out of its socket on the same motor.this will cost several thousand in repairs after all is said and done.on top of the money spent repairing the last incident.there is a documented history of this situation with the more extreme having fire issues.the fire is because atomized fuel is sprayed into the engine compartment due to there being a hole where the spark plug is supposed to be.there was no crash, fire or injury in this case.however, it was close to having all three.

Spark plug ejected from head, came out with such force as to break the coil on the fuel rail, shatter the spark plug and disintegrated the spark plug boot. Had to tap larger hole and install threaded insert so a new spark plug could be threaded into head and torqued to specs. Replaced the coil and boot and reinstall the fuel rail and injectors to make the truck serviceable again.

Spark plug in cylinder #2 blew out of head taking the threads with it.this again happened 6 days later with cylinder #4.i checked internet and discovered that there had been multiple situations where this has occurred with at least 3 of fords engines.mine is the v10 engine.called the dealer i ordered the truck from and they informed me there wasn't a recall and since my engine was out of warranty they would not be able to fix it except at my cost.they referred me to ford customer service.they took my information but said they would not repair it.according to fords technical service bulletin tsb 07-21-2 this has been a problem and if your truck is under warranty they would replace the heads.if not under warranty they recommend how to repair it at customer cost.this is not right.the spark plug being blown out of a defective head is a fire hazard and major problem.you have a hot cylinder without any fuel being captured in an enclosed area.the plug could spark causing a fire within the engine compartment.ford should have to replace the heads with heads that are not defective.

Injector drive module (idm), diesel 7.3 navistar engine.idm failed where the likely cause was water infiltration of the device with sudden catastrophic results which included a sudden significant loss of engine power, inability to maintain highway speed, inability to keep speed above 5 miles per hour, and demonstration of sever roughness during attempts to rev the engine or idle loads.due to the idm failure, three of eight fuel injectors were rendered nonfunctional and replaced; also the actual number of injectors that were online or offline during the idm failure to engine shut-down period was unknown.during the idm failure to engine shut-down period of ~3 miles, the vehicle's obdii system did not illuminate any dashboard indicators despite the engine's inability to function normally. Idm was operated in manufacturer's oem configuration, without modifications, and under normal conditions.all parts sent directly from mechanic shop to suppliers under core replacement requirements.subsequent research on vehicle owner's forms and conversation with mechanic show failure of the idm due to water penetration / infiltration is known and ranges in indications from mine (sudden sever power loss) to complete power loss / engine stop.

The #9 spark plug shot out 9000 miles after the ford dealership replaced all 10 plugs for $270. I was told by all private garages and mechanics locally that the ford dealership had to replace the plugs otherwise they would shoot out. (glad i used the ford dealership)when i contacted the ford dealership about the failure, they told me that they would have it towed in and be able to fix it for around $350.00. When i explained to them that i thought they should guarantee their work and fix it for free, i think i made them laugh.if and when i get this truck fixed and sold, i will never ever by a ford product again.

I have a 2002 ford f250 that in the last year has blown out the sparkplugs 3 different times. I have bought the replacement kit for it each time and i am still having the problem.

Thrown spark plug from 2002 f-250.

After backing my camping trailer into my driveway after a 4 hour trip i noticed fuel on the trailer tongue and smelled a strong smell of diesel. Looking under the truck while it was still running i observed diesel fuel pouring out on the ground from the motor. I quickly shut the motor off before a fire resulted from the hot motor. Later, after searching for the source of the leak it was found that a metal clip that was secured around a steel fuel line and had rubbed through the line causing fuel to leak out on top of the motor.

Vehicle can shift out of park when key is in "accessories" mode without putting pressure on brake pedal.

The front hubs on my f250 super dury pick up would not work when we had our first slippery roads in november. I have shift on the fly and the hub type are the auto-lock type. I spoke with two mechanics who both said this type hub is junk. When i called my dealer i offered to bring the hub's with me so they could see that they were full of rust. The parts managersaid he 's seen plenty of them and doesn't need to see them. This is a safty issue for those of us who count on the four wheel drive working when you need it. This vehicle has never been under water or been abused. This item has not been recalled at this time, and contacts with ford motor company have beeen fruitless.

My 2002 f250 superduty with 7.3l diesel will not turn at parking speeds and higher speeds if applying the brake.i have contacted ford and other owners with the same vehicle and they all say it is consistent with the 7.3l powered superduty trucks.i believe this is a very dangerous condition and do not want to be put into a position where i may hurt somebody due to a faulty designed steering system.increasing rpm does not help.my talking to experts has found the general consensus to be that the hydro boost pump does not produce enough volume and was a poor design released to the public.my research on the issue also found that thousands of customers complained early on and because there were no deaths it was dismissed as a non issue.i think this needs to be addressed as i have only 40,000 miles and this is a dangerous condition that has only fortunately not caused any deaths that i'm aware of.

With a light tap and release on the brakes, the entire front end starts violently shaking and the steering wheel begins to violently steer in left and right violent motions. Refuses to stop shaking until the truck comes to a complete rest. During this time i have no steering, or braking. This most notably happens while hauling a trailer (5th wheel or bumper tow), but has been duplicated by dealer without a trailer. While not being able to stop, had to use the trailer brakes (electronic), and downshifting, and some very tricky driving techniques to come to a safe stop. This has happened numerous times, vehicle was in for service to the front end earlier on do to excessive front tire wear which i believe was the onset of this hidden problem. A very dangerous situation, as this has happened to me on several mountain downgrades. Each time an accident was avoided do to my superior driving skills. Dealership, ford, and extended warranty company refuse to replace part that they adjustedand cover under warranty.(steering box, and linkage), that most definitely would have seen some excessive wear during the times that it was doing this.very deadly situation, that needs to be addressed.several witnesses to this are available at request. Happened on feb 29, feb 27, march 14, march 12, march 15, and so on... Took the dealer nearly 3 days with the vehicle to find this problem!

On wednesday, february 25, 2009, my 2002 ford f-250 sd crew cab suffered a catastrophic loss of braking power.i went through a red light, three lanes of on-coming cross traffic, and could have killed someone or been killed.i had the vehicle towed to suburban ford in sterling heights, michigan.the cause of the problem was the main brake line from the master cylinder had rusted through.how could such an important part of the vehicle's safety system be made out of ferrous metal, leaving it vulnerable to the elements?i thought there was supposed to be redundancy in the braking system to prevent total failure?obviously, this vehicle has a design flaw that must be dealt with.i would like ford should reimburse me $409.59 for the cost of the repair.this severe safety problem could have caused loss of life or tens of thousands of dollars worth of property damage.tragedy has been avoided this time, but what if there was a school bus unloading children or a train crossing the road?surely, there would be a product liability lawsuit costing a lot more than $409.59.please mail payment to the address above.i would like to settle this matter without involving any external agencies.ford denied my request.the feel this is a warranty issue and that the warranty has expired.this is a product liability claim.ford would be sued if property damage or personal injury/death occurred.since this prt is not listed on the "routine maintenance" schedule, how is the vehicle owner supposed to check this part?

F-250 superduty 7.3 l diesel.when applying brakes, left wheel wobbles and shakes severly.when taken to dealer and front end repair shop, they say rotors are warped and need to be replaced ($700.00).why after several complaints hasn't someone done something about this.i had a 1988 ford 350 diesel with the same problem.not being able to stop safely is a safety problem.i don't see a safety investigation on file for this problem.is anyone doing anything about this.

While foot is on the brakessteering wheel will not turn. Cause unknown. Dealer notified.

Essentially, i have had to make at least 7 abrupt stops in the past 1.5 months of owning vehicle. 3 of which required that i make a vehicle manuver before colliding with another vehicle. On all 3 incidents, while under braking conditions, the steering wheel was locked. This prevented me from making steering to safety. If not for my superior driving skills, an accident would have happened. I have not reported this to my dealer, because this is a common character of the late model f-250 superduty ( http://forums.ford-diesel.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic&f=24&t=003382&p= ) for more information about experiences of other late model f-250 owners. Very unsafe.

Severe damage to vehicle causedby a motorcycle in an accident.*la

Upon trying to leave parking lot vehcile failed to excellerate. There was no reaction when the excellerator was pressed.problem was intermitten and we made it home.but, the problem comes and goes with out notice making it very dangerous to pull out into traffic

While traveling down interstate at 65 mph with speed control engaged, when hitting brake to begin slow down to exit up ramp, i pressed the brake to disengage the speed control, however the truck began to accelerate even when depressing the off button for speed control.vehicle continued to accelerate, so i had to put transmission into neutral and pull over until vehicle slowed.
