Our vehicle was traveling on paved highway just south of waukomis, ok, at approx. 6:45am. A pickup pulling a stock trailer was traveling south and crossed over in front of our driver's vehicle, and to avoid a head-on collision with this vehicle, our driver took to the bar ditch and as a result hit a road sign post and also hit a 3" steel post that was set approx. 3 foot deep in concrete, the impact was dead center on the front end of our truck's bumper, and it totaled our vehicle.the airbags did not deploy on our vehicle.our driver fortunately was not injured.my question is why did the airbags not deploy?

Turn signal are now sporadic. Upon investigating i found that when the tilt is engaged and lowered the turn signals would not work.raise steering wheel back up it would work. Start to drive down the road they would turn off or not work at all or wok sometimes. Raise the steering wheel they work. Lower it they don't. This indicates from further research on line in ford f150 forums this is a problem with the wiring being to short and the wires get pulled out of the switch. It is a very common occurrence in f!%) from 98 up to 2004 and are now being reported in newer models as well. This is a severe safety hazard for drivers and passengers and drivers behind the vehicles.and should be remedied by ford at no expense to the owners.

Vehicle was not in use- parked and not onsmoke and fire came from under hoodthe wiring melted causing the hood to melt underneath where it can not be opened.contacted ford on monday june 24waited few weeks for paper work- promptly filled it out and never heard back frome them- made several callsreceived a letter from legal department indicating they need the part to review we wanted ford to come to look at truck and retireve the part they are not willing and are closing the casethere is a recall on this and my family was in the truck that morning- we re lucky no one was killed

Spark plug blew out of engine causing failure.engine.fire

2001 ford f 150 was parked in parking lot at apt.caught on fire and burned to the ground.

Insd was driving his vehicle, it started to cut out so he pulled over and called for someone to pick it up. When he returned the vehicle has completly burned. Fire department says not arson, fire originated under the hood near the firewall.

2001 ford f 150 was parked in parking lot at apt.caught on fire and burned to the ground.

My windshield leaked and fried my computer and my fuse box.there was a leak on the windshield that was not visible and ran down into my electrical components therefore it fried them.

The sparkplug blew out for the second time. The first time was about 9 months ago. Running fine then about 40 mph the plug blew out

Spark plug blown out of head.spark plug #7 blew out 9 months ago. Now plug #8 blew out.mechanic says it's due to poor design of aluminum head and insufficient threads.both times, this happened while coasting at a slow speed (< 30 mph).

The plugs blew!!this has happened repeatedly and as of now(7-2-2014) all have been replaced. Im sure that will start again but this is quite an expensive problem.my truck had 8 plugs...thank god they don't all blow at once!!

Spark plug ejected from the engine block, as vehicle was moving on a highway.disabled, needed a tow.repair very expensive.

Motor ejected #3spark plug on passenger side.

Spark plug blew out of engine causing failure.engine.fire

#3 spark blew out of engine head and broke spark plug coil in the process.this was an original factory installed spark plug.

We own a motor home, built on a ford incomplete vehicle chassis, powered by a ford v-10 triton engine. The first engine began to spit out spark plugs after reaching 75,000 miles on the odometer. This occurred on friday, january 27, 2006, about forty miles east of kingman, arizona. After spending money to get the problem diagnosed at a goodyear dealership in kingman, arizona, we had to order a special repair kit from baril engine rebuilding company in green bay, wisconsin, paying for the shipping both ways. A mechanic resleeved the cylinder.as i had to make a speaking engagement, we had to drive for close to 1,000 miles with wretched fumes and horrid noise. The second spark plug was spit out on friday, feburary 10, 2007. As i had another speaking engagement, which is how i make my living, we had to drive to pensacola, florida, and thence lafayette, louisiana, before another repair kit was rented to be used by yet another mechanic.the third spark plug was spit out two weeks later, on monday, february 26, 2007, as we were driving from pensacola to lafayette. We rented the tool kit from baril engine rebuilding company once again.this original ford v-10 triton engine died on thursday, april 19, 2007, on interstate 80/94 just east of mile marker 160. Two cylinders had lost compression entirely. No one at terry ford lincoln mercury in peotone, illinois, could explain why this had happened. We had to raise $9,000 to pay for a new engine and its installation. The engine had been well maintained.the replacement engine has also been maintained well. Despite this fact, however, the engine spit out its first spark plug, just 19,000 miles and thirteen months, eight days after its installation, an incident that occurred this afternoon, wednesday, june 3, 2008, at exit 22 of the new york state thruway in selkirk, new york.

On multiple occasions i have been driving and heard a loud bang and felt the motor starting to shake and loss of power to the vehicle.upon inspection, i have noticed the coil pack of my 2001 ford f-150 sitting on top of the motor.i have replaced two coil packs twice each.it is getting costly to repair as it costs $50 per coil pack.i have retapped the holes but the problem keeps occurring.i am a divorced father of a 2 year old son.i can't afford to keep repairing the problem.

2001 ford f150 caught fire in the middle of the night and was completely destroyed. Vehicle had not cranked in over 24 hrs., and no keys were in the ignition.

4 months ago spark plug #3 unexpectedly "left the engine" destroyed the coil-on-plug and stripped the cyl. Head. ~2500 miles later #6 plug and coil....same thing.

2001 ford expedition eddie bauer, at about 30 mph, 3rd spark plug blew out stripping threads and ruining coil.we replaced the coil, but dealer will not rethread, the dealer says that if they were to rethread it would not hold and would probably blow again possibly doing more damage to motor.they said they will only replace the head which is 2000.00.when it blew i was on my way to the airport to pick up family with my newborn and four year old.i was stranded on the highway for an hour and a half in 98 degree heat.my family was stranded at the airport for two hours, not to mention the tow bill.i called ford, they acknowledge a problem, but take no responsibility.they said it was because of poor maintenance.but my vehicle has been 100 percent properly maintained.

On october 27, 2006 i was driving my 2001 ford f-150 pickup down the highway at about 45 miles per hour.all of a sudden we heard a loud noise and pulled over.upon inspection my husband noticed that the number 3 spark plug and coil pack had been ejected from the cylinder head.he also noticed that it had caused a sizeable dent in the fuel injector rail.the rail/fuel line which provides fuel under pressure to the injectors is made of steel. The coil pack although the mounting point was broken off remained plugged in and functioning.the spark plug also remained in tact and appeared undamaged.the spark plug still resting in the spark plug boot managed to find a ground very near if not on the dented fuel rail.this was evident by the fact that it continued sparking as the motor sat and idled as we tried to determine the source of the problem.if there had been any sort of fuel leak or had it ran longer sparking against the fuel rail, i suspect a fire could have resulted.a rather serious fire considering the fuel in the rail is under pressure.admittedly this may be a very unlikely set of circumstances.however in checking on the internet the spark plug ejection seem to be common and the dented fuel rail not uncommon.the coil pack continuing to fire seems likely as the connection to the wiring harness seems quite secure. It also seems that the steel fuel rail is a very convenient ground.not only did this happen once no it happened again on january 19, 2007.ford refuses to recognize a problem with the cylinder head and charges $3000 to replace the head and all of it internal components every time it happens.ford blames this problem on the spark plug i can assure you the spark plug was completely in tact and sparking not in the combustion chamber mind you but against a steel fuel line. Ford recommends that you change the spark plugs at 100,000 miles my truck was only at 80,000.

Spark plug blew out of the head on the engine.

I exited oni-75 onto sr 200, traveled 100 feet approximately 20 mph, heard popping sound like baseball card in spokes of a bicycle wheel.happened saturday night while bringingmy son home from college.cost $75 to tow home to unloadthe 2001 f150 5.4 liter v-8. $75 to tow to ford of ocala, belleview, who diagnosed blown #3 plug, charged $98, then $75 tow to ford of ocala in ocala told $4000 to replace head or $6000 to replace engine.this was a common occurrence with this faulty head and plug design.ford should be made to fix this problem since replacing either the head or engine with the same faulty ford product was not an option to me.estimated charges were outrageous even for a physician to pay.please see www.f150online.com forum for additional disgruntled f-150 owners whom have had same problem.thiswas a fraud alert.

Check engine light came on at 49000 diag reports erg/back flow/solenoid.replaced all and reset computer.next day light returned, diag reports erg/backflow/solenoid failure.telephone to ford states, several have this problem, excessive buildup of carbon in exhaust manifold.extended warranty covers repair (design flaw).

Spark plug # 7 blew out of the ford f-150 truck with a v8 motor. The plug and coil stuck the fuel rail above this area , and took a chunk of the fuel rail out, almost crating a leak , vehiclecould catch on fire. Over 100,000 reports on the exact same spark plug along with # 3 plug doing the same thing with the fuel rail also. Usually the other plug blew afew months after the first one blew out of the engine. Repairs were to pull the header ,and drill hole in header to install acoilto replace threads torn on the head, and install anew plug due to blow out and coil.

Brought my truck in for the gas tank recall and now my tank leaks gas the are trying to say it was leaking before i brought it inso they sent me down the road with a dripping gas tank and wont replace it i had my truck at my mechanics having something else fixed 2 weeks before this and he told me about my broken strap and my tank wasn't leaking then.

Bought this vehicle from someone and before finding out about the fuel strap recall for this vehicle. Filled fuel tank and had a very noticeable leak of fuel from tank. When investigated, found the fuel straps were severely corroded and had caused corrosion in the seam of fuel tank, causing the fuel to leak from tank.

While driving, the seatbelt clip will release from the catch, causing the belt to retract and become ineffective while in motion. This has happened several times, and under various driving conditions. I can find no reason for this to happen exterior of the installed equipment. My vehicle had the seatbelt retractor replaced after receiving a recall notice several years ago. This appears to not have anything to do with that recall.

Ibelieve the 2001 ford seat-belt recall was inadequate and the latches are continuing to break internally.i am respectfully requesting that all the latches be replaced.my reasoning is as follows:i own a 2001 ford f150.in 2001 i took it in for the seat-belt recall.ford replaced one latch (the drivers belt latch).last week the latch on my son's seat belt failed.the latch broke internally.i went to the dealership to have the latch replaced under the recall.i told them their seat belt latches were failing.they told me there was no open recall on the vehicle. I was told by the ford motor companies customer service person that the seat-belts are only warranted for 5 years/50,000 miles.my truck has 55,000 miles on it.i told them seat-belts should never fail.he told me seat-belts do fail and he has seen them fall apart before (the conversation may have been recorded for quality purposes). Ford is taking the position that if one of my family members dies due to a seat belt failure that it is not their problem since their seat belts are only warranted for 5 years/50,0000 miles.that is not acceptable. To date 40% of the seat belt latches in my vehicle havefailed (i have 5 latches in my vehicle 2 have failed). Ford is failing to take responsibility for the defective seat-belts and jeopardizing the lives of millions of people.furthermore they are not telling new car buyers that their seat-belts are only warranted for 5 years/50,000 miles.nor are they providing any kind of consumer information concerning recommended replacement/maintenance for the seat-belts.if you require any testimony or assistance from me concerningany deaths, injuries or other matters involving these defective seat belts i will be glad to assist.sincerelyrobert rassioccupation: quality assurance managerbsie industrial engineerstatistical six sigma black-belt623-670-3122.

The seats only have 3/4" hard padding and your legs, butt go numb to the extent that it makes it hard to get to the brake peddle cause your legs go to sleep

2001 ford f-150. A weld in my drivers seat snapped and a cable has come through the seat. I called my local dealer and they said it was considered " trim " and not covered by my warranty. I called ford directly and was told that they stand by my dealers decision. I don't understand how this can be considered trim and since i can no longer sit all the way in my seat i don't know how this can be considered safe. When i asked what i should do until my arbitration papers come, i was told to either not drive my truck or be very careful. ( no kidding )

The consumer's states that the seat(s) padding, cause discomfort.he states that body parts, especially those that help operate the vehicle will go knumb, and it's hard to engage the brakes.the consumer states that he mentionedthis to the dealer when he first purchasedthe vehicle, and was told that the seats have to be broken in.scc

Left front wheel siezed up while driving on freeway just after abs light came on, truck pulled to left, vehicle could have rolled over killing us. Destroyed tire and calliper and seal material caught fire.

The upper a arms and tire rods are worn out on my vehicle which has less than 65k miles on the vehicle. This make no sense for a vehicle with only highway miles and no abuse.

My windshield leaked and fried my computer and my fuse box.there was a leak on the windshield that was not visible and ran down into my electrical components therefore it fried them.

I have a 2001 ford f-150 that i purchased brand new in 2001.i have noticed that the entire frame is rusted and i am concerned about the structural integrity of the truck. It has already had the gas tank strap recall fixed.i found several spots that look as if the frame is deteriorating from rust.

Two leaf springs broke on each side or both sides of the vehicle and parts fell into the roadway.

Two blocks from my residence, i experienced a loud 'boom', tread separation and damage to my right rear quarter panel, fender braces and my exhaust pipe. The tire in question is a goodrich t/a km lt 285/75r/16/122/119/d m + s mud tire.this is a load range d tire with a max of 65 psi. I use 50 psi. The tires were purchased in 2007/2008, andmounted on separate rims. The original equipment and the mud terrain tires were exchanged often.my truck has approximately 40k total miles. If the driving on each tire were divided evenly, each tire would only have 18k miles, at the time of the tire failure. The tires were rotated often. Inflation was checked every week. I chose not to use the road hazard warranty to replace the tire. As it happened on a newly rebuilt street.this tire has a 3 ply side wall and a 5 ply tread. This type of tread separation should not happen. I want goodrich to replace all tires, because i'm afraid to use them. Had this failure happened at highway speed, results could be worse.i have tried to reason with goodrich consumer representatives, to no avail. The tires 'were too old', based on the dot number. Sears wants to only replace 1 tire. I believe the set to be dangerous.the original 2001 tires are very serviceable. I noticed some 59 complaints on 'consumer affairs' for b. F. Goodrich off-road tires. My complaint will make 60.the ones reported to your agency numbered in the 70'ssome the complaints reported serious injury with this type of tire.their link is: https://www.consumeraffairs.com/brands/support/. I would hope that you review the complaints, and ask b. F. Goodrich to be a responsible corporation, file a voluntary recall and replace suspect tires; at no cost to the consumer. Please inform me of the results of your investigations, along with any recommendations made to goodrich. Thank you.

I was driving down the highway at 70 mph when my ford f-150 blew out the #3 sparkplug resulting in having to slow way down, fuel vapor filling my cab and a very rough ride.i have taken it to my repair shop where they will attempt to retap the hole, put in a new plug and see if that works.if not, they told me we are looking at having to remove the entire head.i did not realize how common this was with fords until i researched online today.i also did not realize the severity of continuing to drive it to the shop this morning as i have read that the fuel vapor could ignite while running.

What good is it to respond to a recall of a f150 cruise control when they don't have the parts and you have to make 3-4 trips to get the work done.then they say they have the part but don't do the work and your back again.....i'm a long time ford customer but this is ridiculous ...then your agency urges motorists to respond to the recall....how about kicking those ford execs in their pockets.

I was woken up by someone knocking on my apartment door to let me know that my truck was on fire. I attempted to put the fire out by filling cooking pans with water and dousing the flames but to no avail. The fire dept along with the police showed up and the front part of the truck is all burned up.

2001 ford expedition ignited into flames causing our clients mobile home and all of it contents to be lost.fire department stated that the fire originated in the vehicle.

My 2001 f 150 super crew start on fire in a parking lot i live in mexico but this truck was made in the usa, the fire started about 45 minutes after the engine was turned off.

Truck caught fire sitting in the driveway due to cruise control switch that was on recall list.i knew nothing of the recall until the fire department told me that was what happened.

Cruise control quit working...a month later my truck burnt to the ground in the middle of the night.
