Vehicle involved in serious accident, with major frontial impact, no air bag deployment.dt

While driving at approximately 35 mph, and not hitting any debris, the air bags deployed inadvertently. Owner contacted the dealer, and was informed that the vehicle was out of warranty, and there was nothing they could do.

Air bag failed to deploy with serious frontal impact. Contacted ford and they said it was ok since no one was killed. I am concerned since this is an ambulance. *nlm**dimsii ivoq entry posted after 12-12-02 cut over to artemis**770119

I have a 1999 ford power stroke diesel.in may of 2006 i had a cps failure which caused my vehicle to shut down intermittently while traveling, mostly in intersections and at stops.the problem continued for several weeks until i could identify the cps as the cause.since then i have changed out three cps units on three other superduty's.i replaced all of the units with international parts due to the excessive cost of the unit from ford.unfortunately, i did not save the defective parts being all to happy to discard them!

Nhtsa recall 02-v-068-000/manufacturer's recall 02-s34;vehicle has manual transmission that requires parking brake to be engaged when parked. While disengaging parking brake, the whole assembly broke, not allowing vehicle to stay stable.vehicle was not part of the recall issued.consumer stated that the recall repair parts were the same parts as what failed to begin with, consumer has 2 of these vehicles, only one was included in the recall, however both parking brakes failed. Electrical system failures are causing problems with the air conditioner and flashers.

I have a '1999 f250 ford with a triton v10. On nov 13th one of the spark plugs blew out of the head. I was able to drive it home and after some research on the internet ordered a repair kit. I repaired the failure with this kit and all is well for now. The kit cost me $300 bucks and the repair took about 4hrs. This is design flaw with the ford engines. Hopefully, after enough complaints ford will at least fix this on future models.

The clutch assembly [ powertrain component] failure is the direct result of excess heat build up from a stated"inherent component slippage" which results in a butterfly effect failure as described by meegan for service manager...upon my inspection of the components it is evident that excessively high heat occurredas shown by the discoloration of the pressure plate assembly... The butterfly effect failure occurs when the heat causes distortion of the pressure plate resulting in the loss of applied pressure from the pressure plate directed to the driven plate and the fly wheel which in turn results in the loss of power transmission to the drive axles....however after driving manual transmission vehicles for 38 years i find it hard to believe that a clutch assembly would have an amount of so called normal slippage so high that would create tempertures so extreme as to turm the metal in the pressure plate blue... The clutch failure occurred on p.a. I-80 toll road in a construction zone on a mountain downgrade at aspeed of 55 mph...these temputures could have caused a fire and the clutch assembly failure placed the motoring public, myself, my passenagers, the vehicle and the cargo i was hauling in danger.. In my opinion the clutch assemblies have a serious design flaw and should be investiagated asap... Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Mcs has purchased 5 1999 ford f450 & f550 cab & chassis trucks between 4 september 1998 and 16 jun 1999.all of these trucks had general tires mounted as standard equipment.thus far we have replaced all but one set in the first ten thousand miles of usage due to excessive failure from blow-outs.these tires are not able to hold-up under the rated weight of these trucks.we have experienced 100% sidewall failure during operation both here in colorado and in the desert southwest of california.the tires develop bubbles on the sidewall then shortly thereafter blow out.in september 98, after the first complete failure of a set of 6 tires, general tire co. Was notified and they did replace the tires.100% of the replacements that were provided also failed within the first 8000 miles.it should be noted that these tires are failing at road speeds and during off road use, under load( rear axle and front axle) and unloaded weight.we currently have 10-12 tires which have been blownout in out shop along with one other tire that has 6-8 bubbles on the sidewall.often times when these tires blow out at highway speeds the drivers loose temperary control of the trucks.we are very fortunate( dot number: a39y1hc268 tire size: 225/70r195 )
