The contact owns a 2019 ford f-350. The contact stated that while making a turn into a parking lot, another vehicle that was speeding at 45 mph, crashed into the passenger side. The contact mentioned the impact was forceful and that the other vehicle had all its air bags deploy. None of the side air bags deployed. Both vehicles were towed from the crash scene. The contact and the other driver were transported by ambulance to the hospital. The contact had pains on the left side of his neck and on his lower back. The contact's shoulder hit the side window and was also sore. A police report was filed. The entire cab of the truck was pushed to the driver's side with the supports snapping the passenger side door and the cab corner were smashed in. The insurance company was still determining if the vehicle would be totaled. The manufacturer told the contact to call the local dealer to see why the airbags did not deploy. The dealer (place motor inc 193 thompson rd, webster, ma 01570 (508) 943-8012) sent the contact to theauto body shop with the insurance company. The failure mileage was 58,000.

I got the truck back from the place i bought it, after they called me saying that it was recalls that the ford agency didn't do, i bought the truck a week ago from this post, my truck came equipped with birds eye camera, meaning that i have front, sides, back and on top of the cabin, cameras, they are not working at all, besides the camera in the tailgate. This is just a week after i bought the truck.

While towing our fifth wheel camper on two separate occasions, the tailgate of our 2019 ford f-350 dually opened randomly while in transit. Without knowing the tailgate was down, it caused damage to the front of our fifth wheel when making turns. This occurred on two different highways but since we don't know when it lowered, we don't know the exact highway conditions at the time. Rain was not a factor. So far, it has only opened when the truck was connected to our fifth wheel. According to the ford dealer, the tailgate recall repair have already been completed on this vehicle. We have not reported this damage to our insurance company and have not replaced the camper's compartment door yet.

A ford truck tailgate recall has satisfied federal safety regulators who opened an investigation in october 2018 following complaints about electric tailgates that suddenly opened.*dtthe investigation opened by the national highway traffic safety administration (nhtsa) included electric tailgate problems in 2017-2019 ford f-250, f-350 and f-450 super duty trucks."this recall has not fixed this issue and the tailgate continues to open and is a safety issue.we have attempted to work with ford motor company legal division for compensation and a solution to this but they will not cooperate.until nhtsa recognize the recall is a failure, owners will continue to be a safety problem on our highways.when did this happen?multiple times!it has been to 5 dealerships trying to resolve this recall!the date listed below is the date we purchased our truck.update: vehicle has been repaired by a ford dealer.

This model has a safety recall for tailgate opening unintendedly.i had my in for the recall repair.my tailgate unintendedly opened again, after the recall repair causing damage to it and my trailer.the truck was also loaded with mic items that could have fallen out on at highway speeds.there is a substantial risk of more property damage and risk to other motorists on the road if this issue is not corrected.*dt

The tailgate will open up when backup up in truck - there is recall but the recall does not fix the issue. I have the recall work completed by ford dealer but it still opens up when backup with trailer attached. This has happen 3 times since warranty repair. Ford did not fox this problem and they will not ackowledge it.

2019 f-350 with 8' bed and approx 1000 miles.1st occurrence: departed a campground towing a travel trailer (after doing 3 walk-around safety check prior to departing). Drove 10 miles to nearest gas station before getting on the highway where i discovered the tailgate was down and crushed by the travel trailer. Thinking back through my series of events; i was on level ground and did not reach down to disengage the parking brake below the gate release, i had a ground guide back me up out of my spot who confirmed gate was still up prior to departing, key was in the cup holder with no other objects.i reported this issue to the dealer(4 sept 2019). They reviewed current recalls on my model and none were reported. I filed a claim with my insurance and absorbed the repair expenses. Important to note, there was a heavy thunderstorm the night prior to departing.2nd occurrence:(whileawaiting parts to repair damages from 1st occurrence) i departed work and just after turning left out of the parking spot still in the parking lot, the tailgate came open unintentionally for the second time during my 2 months of ownership. I immediately noticed it down when i looked in my rearview mirror and no damages from this occurrence.

Engine start/brake interlock failure.after using the remote start feature to start the engine, upon entering the vehicle it is not required to press the brake pedal to press the engine start button to engage the vehicle's"drive" features. Unlike when simply entering the vehicle and "starting" the engine you are required to press the brake pedal to start the engine and engage the driving functions.this is a huge safety issue if children were allowed to enter the vehicle without the driver present the children would have total access to the car even though the key fob was not inside the vehicle.

Vehicle started shaking violently when i was driving on the highway with 60 mph, i lost control.luckily there was no car next to mine but if there was i wouldhave crashed.i can not trust this truck any longer.i am terrified to drive.

While traveling over bumps excessive vibration in steering and in cab. Even after steering dampener was fixed.

There is an issue with ford trucks that is commonly referred to as the death wobble. My truck has less than 30,000 miles and has been in three times for this issue. Once ford corrected the issue and it came back. When it came back was told there are updated parts have been waiting for well over a month with no feedback from ford. Reached out yet again to them and was told that i would be escalated. My concern is that this safety issue should have active management and communication from ford and it does not. People are told they have to wait with no update. Now it appears i have been escalated (we shall see) but i am concerned for others that may not be aware of what to do in order to get this addressed. Can you reach out to ford and see how/what their plan is to communicate and support impacted parties? issue occurs when driving anything over 45 mph and to resolve you must slow to below 25 mph. Think of this occurring when on highway and having limited control of a 1 ton truck. Issue occurs at random times so there is no way to avoid it. Occurred many times first time was back in early 2019

While parking, foot on brake, engine increased rpm to very high level. 2019 truck with 41 miles, vehicle was stationary.

I?m driving my 2019 ford pickup at night.the truck is equipped with auto high-beams and they are enabled in the settings.it is night and i don?t want my high-beams on so i toggle them off by flipping the turn indicator handle.a car is approaching form the opposite direction on the other side of the road.as the car approaches and passes by ? what should my high-beams do,stay off or turn on?sense i turned them off, i would think they should say off but they don?t, they come on.this can be further exacerbated in fog.we all know that driving with high-beams in fog is dangerous ? the driver could be blinded by the light reflection off the fog.the same scenario above but now driving in fog with the high-beams off ? a car is approaching form the opposite direction on the other side of the road and after passing by and the auto high-beams turns on and i blinded by the reflection - i swerve off the road and hit a pedestrian (that last part did not happen, but it could).who would be liable in this case?my ford dealer says that there is nothing wrong with my auto high-beams and that is the way they are designed to operate.i think this is a dangerous condition and must be address and resolved.my truck has been to the dealer twice to fix this issue and they have been unable to resolve the issue.the last time the truck was in the shop (2 weeks) ford admitted that there was something wrong and that other owners are also experiencing this issue too but they don?t know how to fix it.i was told to take my truck home and i would be notified when ford had a solution.that was over 2 weeks ago (june 5th).dealer for repair is wilson motors in corvallis or.

I was driving at 65 mph on the freeway when all of a sudden the vehicle starts shaking uncontrollably.i had practically no control of the vehicle as it was swerving all over the road.all i could do was hold onto the steering wheel and slow down as i veered into the grass median between the two freeways.i had my 12 year old daughter in the car when this happens and its absolutely unacceptable for a 70k vehicle to be this unsafe.ive contacted ford and they pretend as if this isnt an issue but if they dont get this fixed people will die.this has now happened twice within a weeks time on a 2019 ford with 33k miles on it.

The contact owns a 2019 ford f-350. Approximately twenty minutes after the vehicle was parked, it rolled into a wooded area. The contact jumped into the vehicle and was able to stop it and shut it off. There was no warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to sugar loaf ford lincoln (507-454-5170, located at 1222 w service dr, winona, mn 55987) to be diagnosed, but the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 320. *dt

Purchased a 2019 f350 in october of 2018 and starting at 20,000 miles or less vehicle started to violently shake or wobble. This first happen while going down the highway at 58 mph, and truck steering wheel and truck started to wobble and shake.i pulled over unsure what to do, but nothing seems wrong, as in flat tire, and drive shaft.over the next few months this continued to happen.i have informed the dealer with no response and our local ford dealer with no response.at routine maintenance appointment, they acknowledge to complaint but do nothing.

Hi,the attorney general told me to email you about my lemon ford 1 ton super duty truck vin # [xxx]. It's sitting at ford in st. Cloud minnesota waiting on a part. The attorney general said that you might want to look at it due to a bolt being left inside of the rear differential housing during themanufacturing of the truck, causing it to lock up temporarily after i hit a bump in the road. This caused the bolt to bounce up and go through the ring and pinion gearsand then got smashed between the differential carrier. This could have been very deadly to myself and others with me, if the bolt hadn't released itself. *dtinformation redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

My new f350 with 6k miles on it starts to shake violently for no reason at all on speeds over 60 mph and the only way to correct the problem is to slow down to almost a stop. The steering wheel was shaking violently and so was the front of the truck.

During speeds 50 mph or above the front of truck will shake violently losing control of steer and breaking. It only takes the edge of a cement transition between regular road and bridgeor some basic rough spots to start the violent shaking. During speeds between 35 and 50 after driving over rough road front will shimmy and smoothout.i have had 3 near misses with other vehicles due to the extreme and violent shaking. Yesterday was a near miss with a semi-truck, and did not gain control until after crossing over three lanes of i-435 traffic outside of kansas city. I went by ford today, and they have had many complaints for same reason. This is an extreme safety issue. I should have been notified that this model of truck is developing drivability issues that can kill.

I was driving home late one night from work, running about 55-60 and the steering wheel and truck started violently shaking and got worse as i tried to apply brakes. It caused me to run off the side of the road into a farm field(luckily no damage)! so i shut the truck off and checked everything, i thought a wheel was falling off or something but everything was good, so i slowly drove home and would start to feel the steering wheel shake when i would apply brakes but nothing like before.

The contact owns a 2019 ford f-350. While driving 70 mph, the abs engaged without warning. The contact managed to turn the vehicle off and back on and it resumed normal operation. The vehicle was taken to matthews currie ford (130 n tamiami trail, nokomis, fl 34275, (800) 248-2378) where it was test driven, but the dealer was unable to duplicate that failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided case number: cas-[xxx]. No further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 15,600. The vin was unknown.('parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).')

The truck violently shaked out of control while traveling between 50 and 70 miles per hour after hitting various rough road conditions on the freeway. Everything from expansion joints to small potholes. The dealer changed the steering stabilizer to the updated model, but the truck still shakes while going over these road conditions, but does not wobble out of control. "death wobble" truck began this vibration at 10,000 miles, and the wobble took place three times beginning at 13,000.

My 2019 f350 has a death wobble which is uncontrollable. Durning the past 2 weeks has made us almost crash. Fit leaves the truck uncontrollable which almost hit two tractor trailers and caused a major traffic accident when the death wobble started with a small bump in the road. We were in the left lane when it started we went all the way to the right without any notice with the entire truck shaking out of control.we bright it to the dealership which stated there's a recall blamed the tires and alignment. The recall is back ordered and not available. They refunded us a suitable rentalcar.when i complained and asked if i should bring my truck to a different dealership he asked me when will i be picking up my truck. My truck is under factory warranty

Hit a few bumps in the road and the front left (drivers) tire wobbles as if is going to fall off. Have to slow from interstate sppes to 25 mph to stop it. This has happened several times now.

Our vehicle has experienced the ford "death wobble" on multiple occasions.this is particularly concerning and dangerous while towing a 20k pound fifth wheel.at one point the wobble was so severe that it damaged our fifth wheel, the bed of the truck, and we could not control the vehicle when we hit a bump in the road.ford has a bad reputation for this issue, long standing, and i request the federal government would investigate why they continue to produce vehicles without correcting the issue.we have had ours fixed but this could have resulted in death and it is not acceptable that ford continues to sell a product with a potentially deadly safety issue.the date below is one of many dates.

I have experienced the "ford death wobble" three times in the past two weeks.it happens in the same place on my commute where i pass over a bridge joint on the freeway.i am usually doing between 65-70 mph.it shakes the vehicle so badly that i have to cross through three lanes of traffic to pull over and come to a complete stop.only then will the wobble stop.the truck has 27,000 miles on it and should not be acting this way.i could maybe understand if it had 250,000 and very worn out steering components.

Truck went into uncontrollable death wobble at 75mph on freeway in glendive montana. I have a video of it happening. *ln

1st incident-driving on the highway the truck started violently shaking after hitting a small rise going over an overpass. Extremely blessed that i was in an express lane (tolled) and no one was around me. 16ft trailer was hooked up and it took every bit of strength i had to keep the truck in the 2 lanes and not the wall. Thankful no other vehicles were around me.2nd incident- again driving on the highway the next day; a very small bump in the road caused the violent shaking. I was not towing, but i did have vehicles around me this time that thankfully were paying attention as i was in and out of the fast and middle lane.the experience is indescribable and frightening.

While traveling at approximately 70 mph on the freeway, i suddenly experienced a violent shaking in the front end after hitting an ordinary bump in the freeway. The shakoing was so violent that i temporarily lost control of the vehicle. The shaking ceased as the truck slowed to about 30 mph. I initially suspected a wheel or tire problem, but upon inspection i could not find any tire issues. This vehicle only has 20k miles, and has been completely dealer maintained since purchase.

'death wobble.' hitting any uneven road conditions at highway speed causes vehicle to shake violently. This is at random and you never know when it is going to happen. Temporarily lose control of the vehicle.

Driving 55 mph and hit a dip in the road when the front end of the truck and steering wheel start shaking violently.immediately slowed down by braking and truck returned to normal.took truck to mechanic and was informed that steering damper and tie rods are worn.he was able to confirm truck shake.truck has 27,513 miles on it.no safety risk to me or others since i was able to get vehicle under control.no symptoms prior to the front end and steering wheel shaking.

Hitting a bump or bridge juncture at highway speeds (>65) causes a violent resonance in the front suspension.the truck shakes violently and the steering wheel turns side to side rapidly.the shaking gets worse unless you quickly slow down to <35 mph.tire pressures were at the ford recommended psi and the vehicle was within payload and towing limits.this happened multiple times with about 26,000 miles on the truck.ford "fixed' the problem, but the problem recurred again at 33,000 miles.ford issued a new fix which has been applied to the vehicle which now has 41,000 miles.the fix was to replace the drag links and put a very stiff steering damper onwhich greatly increased the steering effort.the underlying issue of poor front suspension design is still there and we can feel the issue is coming back and it is only a matter of time before it happens again.this is very dangerous. One of the times this happened, a tanker truck was following me and had to swerve into the other lane on i-65 near cullman, al to avoid me when i had to slow quickly to regain control of the vehicle.when this happens, it is very violent and you can not control the vehicle.if you do not slow down immediately, it gets worse.

On two occasions the truck has gotten the shakes and it's hard to control on the road. Steering wheel vibrates bad too. Was going about 50 mph each time. Once down the highway in a construction area and the other time down a county road. I believe it has a 'death wobble'

At speeds over 65, developes a shimmy or wobble.violently wobbles when it goes over bridge connection etc while on interstates.had it checked by my mechanic, alignment good, balance is good.gave me a heads up to the ford f-350 death wobble. Not yet a recall, but everyone including the local ford dealership is aware of this

While driving at about 65 to 70 mph, their was a small bump in the highway that normally you would not even notice, made my new truck with only 7,000 miles start shaking and it felt like my wheels were going to fall off, i lost about all control of my vehicle, and had to slow down to about 15 mph on the i-15 highway to get it under control. I am sure if this persists that i or someone will be seriously injured or killed

Severe wobble from 67 miles per hour and up. Not consist comes and goes ever few minutes.tremendous vibrations while driving.

Truck's steering wheel began to shake violently at approx 65 mph pulling a camper. Truck was uncontrollable! truck continued to 'death wobble' multiple times. This appears to be a common issue with ford trucks. If you are not strong enough to hold the steering wheel you would wreck!

Driving at highway speeds truck randomly starts to violently shake almost to the point of losing control. Upon researching my issue it seems to be consist with what is know as a "death wobble". I am unable to use my truck for its intended purpose.

Driving down the road at around 60 mph when truck had violent shaking issue. Had to come to a complete stop to get it under control. Shaking so bad could hardly hang on to steering wheel. Thought that was scary and odd, went down the highway about a mile did it again! (this was going straight but hitting some uneven road. Once was a seam at a bridge) turned around and head home did it twice more. Ready for it this time. Got home looked on the computer found it is a known problem called the death wobble. Called dealer and they said bring it and we will replace the steering shock. Well as a mechanic of heavy equipment and a driver of pick up trucks for over 40+ years i know this is only a band aid! the value of the truck and the value of the lives in this truck demands more attention then a band aid. No dash cam to capture event and not going back out and trying to get it as they have it on youtube (come to find out). I now know this is a known problem but not sure if the wife could have been able to hold on to the wheel and if not the would have been a crash. Wish i had known this before i bought this truck! very very dangerous. As a known issue (for some) for a few years now do people need to die before ford has a recall on this and fixes the issue. I thought i did my research on this vehicle through car fax and other sites and did not see this issue.

My 2019 ford f350 has repeatedly entered a "death wobble" after hitting a bump at highway speeds over the last several weeks. I have to slow down to less than 20 mph to get it to stop. This truck has less than 38k miles. Fortunately, i have not been in an accident. While doing research on this, i discovered that ford has issued a field service advisory (20n04) to replace the steering linkage dampener, however, research indicates that this is a temporary fix. I will have it repaired, but this should be documented for future recall efforts.

Severe shaking and movement in the steering system causing an almost loss in control.truck is currently in the shop for the 5th time to resolve the issue.

When crossing over bumps in the road at speeds above 45 mph the steering wheel shakes. Sometimes it's slight and other times it's severe.

4-3-21, traveling on a maryland interstate had the death wobble occur twice it occurred from hitting a bump on the overpass which caused us to almost lose control while amongst traffic. Ever since i bought the truck the front end felt funny every time i hit a bump. What are my options

When driving the vehicle at highway speed vibration can be felt in steering wheel/accelerator/floorboard.when i hit a small bump while driving thw vibration gets worse.

My new f350 with 6k miles on it starts to shake violently for no reason at all on speeds over 60 mph and the only way to correct the problem is to slow down to almost a stop. The steering wheel was shaking violently and so was the front of the truck.

Commonly referred to as the death wobble.at highway speed (65 mph) hit rough road on the freeway, the truck shakes uncontrollably.have to come to a complete stop to stop the shaking.has happened 3 times so far.approximate milage 13,000.at dealership now for attempted fix.

While riding at 65mph hit small bump on interstate and truck proceeded to shake violently in steering wheel and front end, could not regain control of vehicle until truck came under 40 mph. This was described as 'death wobble' upon further research.

I was driving on the freeway at about 70 mph and went over a bridge seam in the roadway. The seam was at an angle. The entire vehicle shook badly. The steering wheel shook and rattled so much i had difficulty holding on to it. As a result, the truck veered out of my lane and in to the other lane (thank goodness there wasn't another vehicle there) before i could grab the wheel again and slow the truck. Had to slow down to about 30-35 mph to get the shaking to stop. Surprised i wasn't rear-ended in that process... This has happened several times - all while at or over about 50 mph, and after driving over some uneven pavement/pavement imperfections (very mild unevenness such as a bridge seam and small roadway patch; doesn't matter if i hit it at an angle or not). The first time this happened was 5/25/2020 when i bought the truck. It didn't last long and i thought it was a fluke... But now it happens more frequently. The truck shakes even worse/ shaking lasts way longer when the uneven surface is more pronounced such as a pothole, the uneven surface is an angle, or the path driven is on a curve. I once had a jeep wrangler (early 2000's) that did this. It was known as the "death wobble." this feels the similar except the shaking is more violent.

I drove across railroad track at about 50 mph and experienced severe wobble of steering wheel and violent vibration that made vehicle uncontrollable. I had to decelerate down to about 15-20 mph before wobble went away.this is the 2nd time this has happened since vehicle was new. First time was less severe. Vehicle is factory stock with 8000 miles on it.

Death wooble took it to the dealer said parts are being redesigned 4-6 weeks out will call when they get them. Very dangerous situation truck has 21000 miles on it problem has happened numerous times on highway 70-80 mph.

Near brand new 2019 ford f350 dually truck - experienced the so-called "death wobble".was at a speed of about 50mph and went over a bridge. When hitting the "bump" in the transition between the bridge and the pavement, the truck went into the violent shake/shimmy and i could not maintain control - braking did not help until i could manage to slow to about 2 mph.i was on a city street and the bridge/roadway was at a slight left turn when the incident happened.this extreme vibration in the entire truck and steering wheel violently shaking is known online as the death wobble.my truck is nearly new, has only 3600 miles on it and is 100% stock. No wheel/tire/suspension modifications have been made

Occurred many times first time was back in early 2019

While pulling a gooseneck trailer with my compact tractor on it driving down a 2 lane road at aprx. 50 mph hit a bump in the road and i experienced for the first time in my life what's known as death wobble. Felt like the front tires were rapidly bouncing up and down. I immediately raised my foot off the acceleration pedal. Once it coasted down to about 40 mph the vibration stopped. A couple hours later it happened again on the interstate doing about 70 mph, same trailer setup as before. Raised my foot off the pedal and once the truck slowed down a little bit the vibration went away. The truck still has the original tires on it and they have been rotated. I checked the tire pressures a couple of days ago and they were at/near the factory recommend pressures. Truck has around 38k miles on it.

On friday jan 8th at approximately 10:20 in the am i was driving eastbound at 65 mph (speed limit) on the i-215 in las vegas on the "curve" between wigwam and eastern parkway. Nearing the eastern exit i hit an expansion joint of the concrete cement and instantly the front end steering started vibrating violently.the wheels as appeared to me to want to violently shake off. I lost complete control of the steering.i have never experienced "bump steer" or "death wobble" until now.i remember taking my foot off the gas and then frantically trying to see who is on the sides of me.it wasn't getting better.so what must have been only a couple of seconds later i started breaking while trying to hang on to the steering wheel.i slowly applied breaks as the f350 front end seemed to be a bucking rodeo horse.it seems to me that it took 20 seconds to bring the speed down down to 42-25 mph when the violent shaking of the suspension, wheels, and steering wheel ended.upon control i looked around and saw that nobody was around me and a truck with a trailer was way behind me.i was lucky as traffic was light because i do not believe i was able to stay in my lane. I am sure i would have been in mult-car wreck if it was during normal las vegas traffic.i drove home at 55 mph wondering what the heck happened.i had no longer confidence that my vehicle is safe to drive for myself or others.for the record on 9 december i took my vehicle to ford country for ford customer satisfaction program (20n04).this is for a "redesigned steering linkage damper"; it was out of stock and i received my vehicle back without repair on 10 december.i took the vehicle in because of the notice and that i experienced a three second steering control event when i did hit a pot-hole in september.i did not report it as it was just heavy vibration.upgrade to recall.

On 1/13/20 while i was driving on the highway the steering wheel began to shake violently causing me to lose control.by the time i got slow down enough to sop i was in the left lane (incoming traffic).luckily there was no traffic or i wouldn't be able to make this complaint as i would of been hit head on and had no control of the vehicle.my dealer said he had another truck with the same issue and it would take 2 months to get a part to maybe fix it.$65,000 and i have a truck i'm scared to drive. It's a 2019 with 7,000 miles on it.i have a pregnant wife and 3 children.the issues with these trucks are death traps.this truck is basically a one ton wrecking ball that i can lose control of at any minute.it's my only transportation.something needs to be done about these before someone is killed.my wife won't get in it and won't allow the kids in the truck.this is completely unacceptable.since it happened i researched possible causes and have learned this is a well documented issue in these vehicles.at this point i'm afraid to i'm either going to die or kill someone else in this vehicle.if i could simply return it i would tomorrow.

I was driving at 65 miles per hour and hit a bump, the steering wheel started to shake uncontrollably and i had no control of the vehicle till i slowed down to about 40 milers per hour and the shaking went away. The same event happened two times. I had it fixed, and the problem still happened.i was pulling a horse trailer with three horses in it the first time it happened.

If the vehicle hits a bump addy sleds above 45 miles per hour, the steering wheel shakes uncontrollably.i have multiple videos of multiple instances, too large to upload here.

I am experiencing the "death wobble".it started about a year ago when i would get minor shaking in the steering after hitting a bump at high speed .the truck would shake bad for a short period and then slowing down it would stop.i took it in and they could not find anything wrong with it.then it got worse, the shaking became more violent and more frequent.i took it in again and they still could not find anything wrong with it.now it has gotten to the point that i am really afraid of it.the other day i was on the interstate, in construction with barrier rails and no shoulder and it started.i could not get it to stop.i got down to around 20 mph and it was still shaking and i could not pull over.finally, speeding up got it to stop.i began to extensively research the problem and found that it is quite common and no specific repair to stop it.i am going to a tire shop today and demand that several repairs are made in hopes that one of them fixes the problem.i have been told that replacing the track bar, steering stabilizer, front brakes, tires, and having it aligned with a greater caster can fix it.

Uncontrollable and violent shaking of the steering wheel and entire truck. After hitting a bump in the road the truck will shack so bad that i have to pull over and come to a complete stop. Some times i have to do this in the middle of traffic and or on the interstate. The truck is a complete safety issue not only for me, my passengers, but also the other people on the road. It appears this is an ongoing issue with ford super duty's. It is call "death wobble" for rightful reasons. Please investigate and have ford make corrective actions in whole. They need to stop selling these trucks until they can figure it out. Its a rolling grenade.

Uncontrollable steering oscillation, ie, "death wobble". Traveling approximately 60 mph and went over uneven pavement in a construction zone. Front end and steering wheel began shaking violently. Had to slow to about 20 mph to get it to stop shaking. Reoccurred a few minutes later on in the same construction zone.

While towing my 5th wheel travel trailer east bound on i-40 from albuquerque, nm on 8/23/21, the truck and trailer started shaking violently after hitting some small wash board bumps.only by quickly slowing down from 65 mph to under 40 mph was the situation corrected.after the shaking stopped i sped back up to 65 mph and everything seemed to be normal.a few more miles down i-40 the shaking returned, again after hitting a short section of wash board.this time was more violent than the first, so i pulled over and did a walk around looking for any obvious defects on the tires, wheels and observable suspension components.i did not find any problems, so i continued with my trip to lubbock, tx.the phenomenon did not occur again.i have not had the truck inspected by a mechanic yet.i have researched this problem and found out that it seems to be a fairly common occurrence on ford super duty trucks with four wheel drive.why hasn't there been a recall issued for this problem?

I was driving 70mph and hit a bump when the truck became uncontrollable. I could not turn to get off the hwy and had to slow down to 25mph before the shaking stopped.

The 2019 ford f-350 goes into a violent shaking when going over a small or large bump on a highway or interstate. My truck has 40,000 miles on it and i have experienced the violent shaking of the truck several times now. Each time the truck begins shaking, it has to be stopped to relieve the shaking. Yesterday it occurred 3 times in a row on i-80 and we were shaking so bad that the truck veered off into the median nearly causing an accident. An accident nearly occurred earlier as the shaking began as we were passing a tractor trailer on the interstate. I have 3 drivers in my household and i cannot allow my wife or daughter to operate the truck due to the fear of shaking.

The contact owns a 2019 ford f-350. While driving approximately 50 mph, the front end of the vehicle suddenly shook and vibrated violently. The front wheels wobbled and the steering wheel vibrated after driving over a bump. The contact indicated that the failure occurred on multiple occasions while driving over 30 mph. The vehicle was taken to opelika ford (801 columbus pkwy, opelika, al) and town and country ford (1101 martin st. N, pell city, al) where it was diagnosed that the steering track bar and steering bushings were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that the replacement parts were also not defective. The manufacturer was notified and provided case number: cas25139941. The failure mileage was 27,000.

Truck has death wobble problem. While in motion itshakes violentlywhen the suspension cycles a certain way and causes loss of control

I was driving straight 55-60 miles per hour on a smooth highway when i hit a patch of light bumps / grooves. The steering wheel and truck started shaking violently and wouldn't stop until i slowed to 40 miles per hour. This happened twice in a 2 mile stretch. This is the 'death wobble' issue reported by thousands of ford owners and really needs to be addressed before someone loses control and gets killed.

I experienced the ford "death wobble".traveling in a straight line at 70mph pulling a large 5th wheel trailer i hit a small bump on the interstate and the front of the truck began shaking violently.i had to slow to 40 mph before it stopped.i thought the front end of the truck was going to come apart.as soon as i made it to my destination i made an appointment with the local ford dealer.they kept it for a day and said they could find nothing wrong but they were aware of the problem and said ford was working on a solution that was not yet ready.i asked the dealer to rotate the tires and align the front end.they kept the truck another day and completed my request.the truck is a 2019 and has just over 21,000 miles.every time i hit a bump now i grip the whell a little harder.i now understand there has been a class action lawsuit filed for the issue and i would find it hard to believe the nhtsa has not stepped in.i hope you have addressed this issue with ford and would appreciate a response one way or the other.i am not educated enough with computers to upload a document.the only document i have is the work order from the dealer.

My 2019 ford f-350 has approximately 16,300 miles on it.on friday, november 8, 2019, i was driving at highway speed (approximately 65 mph) westbound on interstate 10 near san antonio, tx around mile marker 588 shortly after noon.i was in the left lane.i hit a small, but relatively deep pothole in my lane, which caused a jolt to the vehicle.what followed next is difficult to describe as i have never experienced anything like it in over 40 years of driving.the front end of the vehicle started to shake and wobble violently.i initially thought both of the front steer tires had experienced a blowout simultaneously as the shaking was occurring on both front tires and the front suspension.the vehicle was very difficult to control.i was able to decelerate and move to the right shoulder.at some point during my deceleration, perhaps around 25 mph, i was able to regain control of the vehicle and the shaking stopped.i exited and inspected the vehicle, but could see no damage to either tire, nor any indication of damage to the tie rods, shocks or other components of the front suspension.i was able to resume driving and later conducted a more thorough inspection, again finding no apparent damage or cause for the violent shaking and wobbling i had experienced.i am terrified that this will occur again.in different circumstances, this could easily result in loss of control of the vehicle, with very bad consequences.i occasionally pull fifth wheel and goose neck trailers with this vehicle, which is why i purchased it.if this occurred while pulling a load, the consequences could be terrible.

When traveling @ normal highway speeds if i cross uneven pavement or rough roads the steering wheel shakes violently side to side. When road smooths and along with braking to reduce speed the problem goes away. Have taken into dealership and steering dampener was replaced but problem is starting back. 25,500+/-miles

Experienced several death wobbles hauling oilfield equipment down to texas, luckily there was no traffic at the time as the truck bucked all over the road, happened two more times on trip on rough roadways had to slow to59 to avoid. Very lucky no accident.

Sustained steering wheel oscillation (aka death wobble) while driving down the highway at approximately 65 mph. I drove over a rough bridge expansion joint and the steering wheel started to violently shake back and forth until i slowed to approximately 25mph and the oscillations ceased.

Just bought truck from fred beans of boyertown. Truck has very hard shaking when hitting a rough part of roadway while traveling around 50mph and upward.almost lost control of truck. It's has almost like a death wobble. Very scary. Won't stop until truck go about 15 mph. Had family in truck it is a safety issue.

At 55mph or so driving over a hole, bump or raised portion in the rode way the steering wheel starts to shake/shimmying/wobble some what violently with both hands on the wheel for a distance until i slow down and it then subsides. The feeling make a person feel like their losing control of the vehicle and is scary.

10-27-2020 i was driving my 2019 ford f350 at highway speed (70-75mph) when the steering started to violently shake, i had to suddenly reduce speed (brake hard) to get the shaking to stop. I had to reduce speed to 30mph before the shaking stopped. This issue happened on 3 different occasions as i was driving from colorado to indiana. Initially, it was shaking so bad i thought i blew a tire. I understand ford is aware of this issue & does nothing to inform owners of the problem.

Traveling at about 80 mph went over a bridge approach, the steering wheel violently shook until i hit the brakes and slowed to about 25 mph.aka death wobble.

On sept 4,2020 with mileage at 20980 and again on sept 3, 2020 at 21560 at around 65 to 70 mph the front end wobbled for 6 to 8 seconds in a uncontrolled manor. This made control very difficult and dangerous. I checked the air pressure which was at the recommend level. Both times i was traveling on well maintained state hwy. I find this unacceptable and highly dangerous. This was on a straight road.

While driving about 60-65 mph the steering wheel started shaking violently as the whole front end felt like it was shaking apart. I had to maneuver to the shoulder and stop before it stopped.very difficult to keep the vehicle under control.

My vehicle had approx. 22000 miles on it when it started to develop what is being called the death wobble.this is where the steering wheel shakes terribly when you encounter any bumps on the road. It can shake so violently that it is difficult to control the vehicle.at approx. 27600 miles i took it to power ford in albuquerque, nm for repair.they were aware of the issue and determined that the steering dampener had failed.there is lots of information on this issue on the web.this design issue exists in all 2006 to 2019 ford f-250s and f-350s. This issue makes the vehicle unsafe to drive and decreases the mean time between failure of steering components causing owners to incur the expense of replacing failed components at unreasonably short intervals or installing after-market solutions.while ford may see it as caused by normal wear and tear, the short component lifespan and vehicle control issue indicates a serious design defect which the nhtsa should address.

Traveling at 65 mph, steering wheel begin to shake violently. Unable to control the steering of the vehicle, when brakes were applied, no braking action took place, pedal just went to the floor as if in an anti-lock situation. After speed was reduced below 25 mph, the shaking stopped and was able to return back to normal driving. This happened 3- consecutive times, each time with the same ending. Truck is a 2019 f-350 with only 22k miles. Has been in the shop now for 42 days with no answer from ford about what caused or how to repair the issue.

July-2019 - when driving at highway speeds the steering wheel began shaking violently (death wobble) after crossing a bridge expansion joint causing me to lose control of the vehicle.i was able to slow down gradually and the shaking stopped around 40 mph.had it serviced at a local ford dealership and it was fixed under tsb 18-2268 where they replaced the steering wheel dampener.sep-2019 - death wobble occurred again following july repair on highway while towing a 5th wheel trailer.immediately scheduled service at a different local ford dealership and was told there was a new tsb that superceeds the prior one.they replaced the steering wheel dampener again but was disappointed to hear that it was still the same oem part number used for the dampener.oct-2019 - death wobble occured at 60 mph on the highway.happened 3 times in a row this time causing me to veer into another lane.immediately schedule service appointment at a 3rd ford dealership.repair currently in progress at the time i'm writing this so no outcome yet.began a formal inquiry with ford on potential buy-back or replacement.

Hit a bump and the whole truckshook and vibrated violently to the point of loosing control. We were driving on the freeway at approximately 60 mph. The only way to stop the shaking was to apply the brakes and almost stop.

On 10/19/2019 while my 2019 f-350 was in motion towing a 36-ft 5th wheel on a two-lane highway at 55 mph, i drove over a series of bumps in my lane that caused the front of the truck to shudder violently.i had to slow the truck to approx. 30 mph to get the shuddering to stop.i did not lose control of the 5th wheel.the steering wheel shuddered so violently i could barely keep my hands on it.all vehicle weights were well within the gvwr/gcwr of both the trailer and truck.ironically enough i was on my way home from weighing the truck and trailer at a cat scale when this incident occurred.four days later i took the truck to the dealer where they replaced the steering damper assembly in accordance with tsb 19-2274.

Five occurrences of 'death wobble' experienced so far.no aftermarket accessories have been installed on the vehicle and everything is stock factory installed.1) the 1st occurrence was on 10/5/2019 and we were driving solo up a hill on hwy 550 doing about 45-50 mph climbing a hill.we hit a bump and i thought we had flat so pulled over to check.check and no flat so proceeded and it never happened again so i never brought in to have the dealer (ford) look at it.i don't have the specific mileage when this occurred.2) the 2nd occurrence was on 5/14/2020 and we were towing our 12,000 lbs. 5th wheel on southbound i-25 in the middle lane doing about 55 mph.i hit a bump and the truck shook violently and scared us to death as we had traffic on both sides of us and need to slow rapidly.luckily, i was able to slow down quickly while keeping the truck in my lane and not get re-ended.this is a very scary feeling having a truck out of control towing a 12k trailer in heavy traffic.mileage was 21,927.3) the 3rd occurrence was on 5/14/2020 and we were towing our 12,000 lbs. 5th wheel on hwy 24 w doing about 45 mph.i hit a bump and the truck shook violently again and i was able to slow down rapidly as we were heading up hill. Mileage was 21,975.4) the 4th occurrence was on 5/14/2020 and we were towing our 12,000 lbs. 5th wheel on hwy 24 w doing about 45 mph.i hit a bump and the truck shook violently again and i was able to slow down rapidly as we were heading up hill. This was the third one in about 50 miles.mileage was 21,980.5) the 5th occurrence was on 5/17/2020 and we were towing our 12,000 lbs. 5th wheel on hwy 115 n doing about 55 mph.i hit a bridge abutment truck shook violently again and i was able to slow down rapidly.mileage was 22,175.working with the dealer to get ford tsb 19-2274 accomplished.

Violent front end shaking upon contact with road bumps or applying brakes at highway speeds over 50mph. Must reduce speed below 40mph to regain control. The more brakes applied the more shaking intensifies. Started at 10k miles when applying the brakes. Progressed to contact with bumps/bounces and uneven pavement. Reported immediately to ford dealership. They checked at 13,756 miles (took that long to get appointment) and claimed steering dampner bad. Tsb #19-2392 from ford (use new part #) part backordered for 7 weeks. Continued to drive vehicle during this wait time as they could not provide a comparable vehicle as a loaner. Finally replaced at approximately 19k miles. Alignment checked by dealership. Dealership claims all other parts are still good. Violent shaking returned at 19,867 miles when applying the brakes. Upon hitting rough road and/or bumps in the road the front end feels loose again. Notified dealership again. Response was "we did what ford told us to do". I asked for a manager and am still waiting for a call back.

Traveling on i287 at 50 mph we hit a crack in pavement and steering started to thrash rapidly and uncontrollably.was lucky not toa major accident trying to get from middle lane to shoulder at rush hour on i287 in metro ny near the rye, ny greenwich, ct border. Had to come to almost a complete stop to have the steering stop the death wobble

Death wobble. I'm confident you will understand the term as there are thousands of complaints from ford owners. Someone is going to die because of this issue and that is not an embellishment. Ford needs to be held accountable to fix the problem. I'm tried and true ford, but this vehicle is not safe to drive and will not let anyone other than myself do so. Please take this for action, there are literally thousands of complaints on this exact issue. Ford knows about it, but has failed to deliver a solution. It's really disappointing as i have held that company in high regard for years.

Truck has 21750 miles on it and is experiencing the known symptom of ford super duty known as the "death wobble".as i was entering the ramp to the freeway, i hit a bump in the road and the vehicle started shaking violently causing me to almost lose control.i had to slow down and move to the shoulder and stop the vehicle to seize the shaking.other vehicles were on the road and this causes a huge safety concern.

While driving east on hwy 18 in washington state, we went over a bridge joint in the highway traveling approximately 60 mph. The truck started to violently shake causing me to have to significantly slow down in the middle of the highway while others vehicles tried to swerve around to avoid a collision. The shaking did not stop until i was almost completely stopped on the highway. Were we where at there is not a shoulder to pull off the road. Thank god the other drivers around me were able to avoid hitting us or anything else while i was trying to get the truck back under control. This truck is almost brand new with less than 13000 miles. It has never been in a accident or had any other damage. I am not willing to put my or my family's life in danger so this 70000 truck will now sit until it is fixed.

Driving on dry pavement, approximately 40mph, straight smooth road. I drove over an expansion joint in the pavement, the steering began to wobble violently which made my vehicle leave the pavement onto the opposite side of the road onto an easement. I seemed to have experienced the "ford deat"h wobble, i contacted the dealership, they referred to what i experienced as a known problem referred to as "death wobble". If a vehicle would hav been coming in the opposite direction, there would have been an accident and could have resulted in death at the speed i was traveling. The truck only has ~15000 miles on it. I was told that there is an apparent tsb on this issue and parts are on national backorder with no idea when the parts will be available. This is a very serious safety issue.

Experienced the "death wobble."the steering wheel and tires shook uncontrollable and i nearly crashed. Had to slam on the breaks and stop.only have 26000 miles on the vehicle. I am taking it in for them to work on but it concerns me that it will happen again. Our other truck that is exactly the same did the same thing this week too and are taking it in also. Seems to be a common thing with these trucks. Lucky no one got hurt or killed. Really scared me to death.

When i hit bumps in the road i get a violent steering wheel shake, known as death wobble. Happens at slow speeds on the windy road i live on, probably going roughly 25-35 mph usually when i hit a bump while turning. I have heard this is a common problem in these vehicles . It seems to be getting worse as time goes on. The vehicle only hads 8500 miles on it and was purchased new from dealer.*dt

While traveling at highway speeds hitting any bump in the road resulted in steering oscillation or death wobble until you slow to between 45 and 40 mph. Ford service advised the track bar, drag link, steering stabilizer were all defective and on backorder due to so many failures. I have multiple mpeg videos showing it happening and have given them to ford and my ford dealer.

Traveling 60 mph experienced extreme vibration after hitting bump in the road.had to slow to 10-20 mph for the extreme vibration to cease. Very unsafe condition. Steering wheel vibrated severely. Truck has 23,400 miles. This conditionis known as the death wobble!

While traveling over bumps excessive vibration in steering and in cab. Even after steering dampener was fixed.

While drivingmy ford f350 approximately 50mph on a statehighway,i hit a slight depression in the roadway after crossing a bridge.the vehicle's front end and steering wheel began shaking violently . I had to come to almost a complete stop to make the shaking stop. I believe this to be the problem described as the ford death wobble. The vehicle had 27800 miles at the time of the incident. I have scheduled an appointment with the dealer for an inspection and repair. I stopped to examine the front of my vehicle, but there was no apparent reason for the incident.

On nov 20,2019, while traveling from cornville, az to littleton, co i experienced a violent wobble with my 2019 ford f350 super duty diesel truck. I was starting to go up raton pass in new mexico (just north of raton, nm) and experienced the vibration going roughly 60-65mph. On our return home on 12/02/19 i experienced it again when driving on i25 through colorado springs.i have been working with sanderson ford in glendale, az and they conveyed to me that ford has authorized their dealerships to replace the steering dampener and that was done on 01/17/19.when this condition initially happened the truck only had 9400 miles and on the return trip the mileage was 10,127.

On multiple occasions over the 5 months i have owned the truck, the front wheels of my 2019 f350 have shuddered violently after crossing minor bumps at normal highway speeds.the shuddering was violent enough to pose a serious threat of an accident.immediate, rapid deceleration was the only way to regain control.my instinct (just my observation)is that the bumps caused a shudder in the front wheels and if the traction control was engaged that the system engaging made the shuddering worse. The last time and the third time this happened was yesterday 2/27/21 my wife and 2 small children were in the truck with me. De-acceleration, dangerous on a busy interstate on its own, did not stop the shuddering this time, but disengaging the traction control seemed to stop it immediately.i often tow a 30' foot travel trailer on family trips and fortunately the shuddering has not yet happened while towing the camper, but i fear what could happen under such circumstances. I have researched this in ford forums and have come to know this defect is common with ford super duty trucks and is know as the f250/350 'death wobble' and i can tell you that is a very accurate description.i also saw that taking these trucks in for service has not helped other owners and that ford has failed to address what is obviously a common, dangerous design flaw across multiple years of the super duty line of trucks.i urge the nhtsa to pressure ford to address this issue immediately.

My vehicle continuously experiences what is know as the 'death wobble' after hitting various road conditions; rough pavement patch, holes, irregular road heights on freeways, highways and city streets. Occurs as low as 40mph in the city and 65+ on freeways.ford dealer installed a 'new improved steering stabilizer' but the problem returned in less then a month. I replaced their steering stabilizer with an aftermarket brand (moog). It has helped prevent the serious wobble but when traveling over the road surfaces identified above, the steering wheel starts to wobble back and forth slightly (controllable) then stops after returning to smooth road. Still, my heart races, anticipating the death wobble every time. The problem first appeared at about 15000 miles and now there is 35000 miles on it. I will not let anybody else drive the vehicle because of this danger. If i could, i would trade it in on a different brand.

We hit a small pothole in the highway going 70mph and lost all steering input to the vehicle. Steering wheel started jerking violently side to side. I could hardly hold onto it.i slowly applied breaks and was able to move onto shoulder, vehicle still was erratic until almost a dead stop.i thought i rolled a tire on the rim it was so rough feeling.got out and did a visual inspection and tires were all good, checked under vehicle and no debris picked up or anything else that would cause this. Slowly got back onto highway and it was fine after that.i had one other experience like this but i thought it wasnā€™t nearly this bad. Construction bumps in road about 45mph and had moderate wheel jerk side to side but it corrected once past the rough pavement.this latest time it didnā€™t stop until i stopped vehicle. Best regards, [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Truck began to violently shake wile on freeway at approximately 65 mph. Had to pull over and stop and start driving again.

Travelling at speed (+/-65mph) on i-25in colorado, i hit a pothole. Immediately, my steering wheel started shaking uncontrollably. This truck was purchased new in 2019, and currently has less than 6,000 miles on it.

Going down the road about 50 mph hitting minor bump in the road. Front of truck started shaking violently. I was unable to control the truck and had difficulty slowing it down. I crossed the center line with it being unable to be controlled. Finally was able to gain control after almost a complete stop. Truck is almost brand new and only 13,000 miles.

I was driving my newly purchased 2019 for f350 super duty which has 22,000 miles, when i hit a small bump on the highway. I was driving at a speed of 55 mph and going straight with not the slightest of turn and within the flow of heavy traffic, when my front tires and steering wheel began to vibrate uncontrollably as i came over the small bump. I was unable to control the heavy truck and was forced to slam on the brakes to keep from swerving into the median or into another car beside me. The concrete truck behind me had to slam on it's brakes as well to prevent from hitting me. I have driven heavy trucks for 25 years and have never felt so out of control. Had my son or daughter been driving the truck there is no doubt they would have wrecked and most definitely hurt the driver in the kia next to me. I have owned 5 ford trucks and have never had this death wobble occur in those trucks. When i got to my office i looked it up on the internet and saw this is a common problem with ford f250 and 350's between 2009 and 2019. I called the ford dealership and they said this was not covered under my ford factory warranty but that they get 3-4 calls per week about it. I have not modified anything on the vehicle and it remains a stock vehicle. Ford should not allow these trucks to remain on the road. They are a death trap and will cause fatalities if something isn't done about this defect in the steering stabilizer and track bar. I will be selling this vehicle as the repair is over $2,500. Please do something about this. As the enforcer of safety on the roads it is your duty to make ford recall all 250 and 350's that have these inadequate steering stabilizers and track bars. People will be hurt and killed. The blood will be on your hands of the ntsa and ford if something isn't done.

Death wobble after hitting rough patch in road or bridge joint

My 2019 ford f350 has the "death wobble" that started around 40,000 miles.today it has 43,747 miles.upon researching this problem, i am fileing this complaint.this problem is deadly.the wobble happens as freeway speeds and stops after quick deceleration.i have witnesses to this on two occasions.

The truck went into a death wobble traveling down hill at 60mph while braking, stearing column shook violently, no control of vehicle at that point, we were towing an enclosed car trailer, no lights came on, no warning whatsoever, has not been inspected yet, due to it just happening on our trip

I'm a small business owner in tulsa, ok and i was wondering if your agency has received complaints regarding the 2019 ford trucks with the front end issue called the 'death wobble'?this has occurred multiple times this year and we take it directly to the dealership when it occurs.the last time the truck was in the dealership for two weeks. Fowler ford called and said out truck was finally ready for pickup.we immediately went and picked it up, and within 50-60 miles the death wobble occurred and blew out the front driver side tire nearly causing us to hit a guard rail with a huge embankment.when the truck tire blew out it tore out the wiring harness, damaged the fender, the door causing over $10k in damage. Please google 'death wobble'. It is all over the internet and i'm surprised ford has not done a recall.my insurance is going to pay for the damages to the truck.we still won't have a work truck because ford does not have a fix fix for it. Our driver came within a inch or two from hitting a guard rail and going down a huge embankment. Thank you for your time. Nathan butterfield

When traveling at speeds above 40mph when the vehicle hits grooves, expansion cracks, or just uneven roadways the front end starts to shake violently and becomes very hard to control. The only way to get the shaking to stop is by bringing the vehicle to speeds around 20mph. So far it has happened 4 times and one of the times took me off the road.

The contact owns a 2019 ford f-350. While driving 50 mph, the steering wheel violently shook without warning. The contact had to drive lower speeds in order for the vehicle to resume normal operation. The vehicle was taken to jack garrett ford (270 ripley rd, spencer, wv 25276, (800) 837-3673) where it was diagnosed that the steering wheel needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and the failure recurred three additional times. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided a case number. The failure mileage was approximately 9,000.

My wife and i were headed to costco and were driving through west chester ohio.we went over a set of railroad tracks on princeton glendale rd. Just before port union rd.once we went over the tracks the front of the truck began to jump and shake uncontrollably.it was very scary.we had no idea what was going on.the truck wobbled side to side for a good distance after we went over the tracks.the wobbling was felt extremely strong in the front end and carried through the cab of the truck.it only subsided after slowing the truck down by letting off the accelerator and letting it coast to about 25 mph.thank goodness we weren't on the highway or worse yet, that we weren't towing anything.we bought this truck to tow a large fifth wheel camper.if this were to happen while towing this on the highway we would probably lose control and crash.that would be catastrophic to say the least.i have just under 4,000 miles on my new truck and this is the second time this has happened.the first time was minimal.so minimal that we wrote it off after it happened.but, it too happened after going over a set of railroad tracks on a rural road just outside of seven mile ohio.it was nothing like what happened this weekend.since this happened i took it upon myself to look to the internet for more info.it seems this is a national problem with the super duty trucks.there is a plethora of complaints of this exact same thing.my fear is contacting my local sales dealership and getting the standard jargon.having the mechanic take it for a test drive and then call me after i drop it off to them for three days and them tell me that nothing occurred and nothing appears broken.like i said earlier, i have almost 4,000 miles on the truck and it has happened twice.

Driving at speeds between 45-65 mph the truck all of a sudden starts to shake in the front end up threw the steering wheel and you can not control the vehicle ( death wobble). Once you slow down to 30 mph the shaking goes away,

While driving i ran over a small pothole and the steering wheel began violently wobbling back and forth to the point that i almost lost control. This is now commonly called the death wobble.

On three separate occasions during a recent road trip, we experienced sudden violent shuddering of the steering wheel while traveling at highway speeds (40-70 mph) and immediately after hitting an uneven spot in the road.on all 3 occasions, the steering wheel shuddered, the vehicle started wobbling side to side, and it was extremely difficult to control the vehicle.the shudder lasted for approximately 20 seconds each time,it was terrifying!this vehicle had only 35k miles on it at the time of our trip and has been very well maintained.

Vehicle started shaking violently when i was driving on the highway with 60 mph, i lost control.luckily there was no car next to mine but if there was i wouldhave crashed.i can not trust this truck any longer.i am terrified to drive.

Major steering wheel wobble at speeds unsafe. Contiues to happen and get worse as i drive.

While traveling 65-70 mph on highway the front end of truck began oscillating violently causing loss of steering. The condition was only stopped after emergently braking in the middle lane of the highway to a full stop. Very scary!

This vehicle violently shakes after hitting a grooved surface or a small bump in the road.the shaking takes a great deal of power to bring the vehicle back under control.

Was driving with a load of ~19,000 pounds (fifth wheel) at ~55 mph, when the steering wheel began shaking uncontrollably until i came to a stop. The following day was driving without a load at ~60 mph, hit a rough spot in the road, and the steering wheel bagan shaking uncontrollably until i came to a stop. The truck has done this more than 5 times but less than 10 during the last 30 days. This issue began when my truck had ~24000 miles on it. The vehicle has done this while driving on state highways and local roads, but all paved. The dealership said it was a known issue. There is a steering dampener the dealership would like to try. I am unable to use the vehicle for its intended purpose, according to the dealership.

After hitting bridge expansion join at approx 60 mph t in new hampshire i expierenced a speed wooble so severe i had to stop at night on the highway which is extremely dangerous, the wobble was so severe i was unable to turn or get off highway .this has occured three times in the last month but the last wobble was very severe.this is a brand new 2019 f-350 with less than 12,000 miles . This has ocured frequently since i purchased the truck but was not very severe , my concern is if my child was driving this truck likely would have been a severe accident or rollover . Aftergetting online it appears this is a large problem with the superduties wondering why no recall?

At approximately 14,000 miles the vehicle developed a severe vibration in the steering when going over even a small bump on the freeway at freeway speed. The vibration continued to get progressively worse until the vehicle was no longer safe to drive. The vehicle was taken to the dealer that sold us the truck. The dealer service department had to replace a number of steering components in the front end and indicated that a tire problem caused the failure. The tires, wheels and all steering components were oem and no modifications had been made to the vehicle steering or suspension system when the issue occurred. The dealer indicated that the goodyear tires installed at the factory were the cause of the problem and recommended installing michelin tires to alleviate any future issues. The steering was repaired and the tires replaced by the dealer. Since those repairs another similar vehicle in our fleet that came with oem michelin tires and has under 10,000 miles has started to develop the same issue. The dealer has indicated that this may be a problem with f350 models but continues to blame goodyear for the problem and no other solutions to fix the issue have been indicated.

I was driving my 2019 f350 with just over 18000 miles to a family residence via 130th avenue a two lane road in iowa, traveling 55mph. I went over a bridge and had violent shaking of the truck from the front end (death wobble). I had to quickly slow down to under 30mph for it to stop. Then again -same day- traveling on i-80 at 70mph, i went over another bridge and the truck did the exact same thing. The truck violently shook at the front end (death wobble). I had to again quickly slow down to under 30mph on a interstate for it to stop. Both time i had a pregnant wife and son in the vehicle. I was lucky that i was able to slow down and get over to the far right. I was also lucky that i did not have one of my trailers with livestock attached. This is a very unsafe truck right now, i happy that i was driving and not my wife. She will not be driving this truck anymore.

I own a 2019 ford f350 with about 13,500 miles on it. On multiple occasions i have experienced what seems to be named the ford "death wobble". When driving occasionally the truck starts to shake uncontrollably causing the driver to death grip the steering wheel to avoid losing control. This problem has occurred 10-15 times in about 4 months. Ford does not have a recall on this problem, and they are refusing to put in writing at the service department the exact issue i am bringing the truck in for. They call it "recalls" however there is no recall for this issue. When this occurs, the vehicle attempts to move side to side making it nearly impossible to stay in the lane of travel. This has occurred at speeds of 30 miles per hour on city roads and 65 miles per hour on the freeway. Slowing down or removing your foot from the accelerator only makes the problem worse as we slow down. I have a video recorded of one of the times this occurred which we were going about 63 miles per hour, we slowed down to about 42 miles per hour rapidly in an attempt to keep control. Doing this almost caused the car behind us to hit us and the car to the right of us needed to steer out of the way quickly. Ford does not have a fix for this issue, the front tires on the vehicle look like they have been chopped up due to the bouncing that occurs during the wobble. Someone is going to get killed if ford does not fix the problem. I have a video that i will gladly share, this only lets me upload pictures

I purchased a new f350 in 04/19. It has an issue that causes the steering and front end to shake violently and uncontrollably when it hits a bump in the road when traveling at highway speeds. The issue is only corrected by slowing the vehicle. Sometimes the vehicle has to come to a complete stop before the vehicle will stop shaking. The issue has happened no less than 12 times as of 12/31/19. It has been to the dealer twice for this issue. They made adjustments and replaced steering dampener both times and the issue was not a present until 6-8 weeks after repairs. This is extremely dangerous and i am very fortunate that this has not led to an accident yet.

Driving down the road at 65 mph in the fast lane in bumper to bumper traffic hit a bridge joint and the truck severely started shaking un uncontrollably until i slammed on my brakes and slowed to 35 mph . Same trip 5 min later hit a small pothole in the road same thing only worse .. My wife and kids were in the truck and witnessed it and now she wont drive the new truck with only 13k miles on it .... This problem needs addressed asap !

While driving my ford f350 on a rural highway at 55 mph (60 mph limit) went over railroad tracks and experienced what is commonly known as the "death wobble". My truck only has 12,200 miles on it. I have heard of this, but until you experience it for yourself, there is no way to know how scary it is to lose control of a 7,000+ pound vehicle. I was lucky that i was able to pull over on the shoulder to stop it, this time. I have read several blogs about ford dealers not treating this seriously unless the incident(s) are reported to nhtsa. I am sure this will happen again as it seems to always be present on vehicles that start.

On normal highway speed's after hitting a small bump i experienced a violent shaking in the steering that would not go away until i slow down to under 20 miles an hour

Shacking of steering wheelthis is not an isolated incident with our trucks, it's a nationwide problem that is very very dangerous. In a 10 mile ride it would happen 3-4x at 70 to 75mph hitting the slightest bump, the truck would violently shake. I would have to slow down to 20 mph for it to stop. Very difficult on a highway!

I was driving at highway speed 65 mph down the lhighway mwith my son in the truck with me.my truck bed was empty.i ran over several small pot holes or bumps in the road and my truck steering wheel started shaking and got progressively worse and i advanced down the interstate.i held on to the wheel as hard as i could and tried to keep control of the truck and not lose complete control.the violent shaking only got worse until i was able to get the vehicle down to below 20 miles an hour. Several other vehicles were honking and pointing at thefront end of my truck.this death wobble which i am hearing being reffered to is starting to happen with more frequency.i am terrified of letting any of my familiy drive my new $85,000 ford f 350king ranch.i am taking it to a ford service this week to get fixedl.the more i research the "death wobble" the more i am finding out that there are thousands of new ford truck owners just like me that are experiencing this very dangerous and horrifying problem.it is hard to believe that ford has not recalled this truck yet to fix this very dangerous situation.it woud not be suprised to find out that this neglect by ford hasn't resulted in death already.this death wobble has occurred at highway speeds and while driving in residential areas going 45 mph.

While driving on the express way (m-i-75) at a speed of 65 miles per hour i hit a bump and my truck shook fiercely and uncontrollably forcing me to drive on the side of the road until i could get the vehicle to stop.upon starting to drive again this incident was repeated leaving me to roll down the side of the expressway until i could reach an exit to get off into a safe area.when i looked this up online i found that this incident is already know and named, "the death wobble!"

Brand new truck with 3000 miles on it and the front end is very loose feeling.lots of steering wheel shaking ( side to side movement) when hitting bumps. Dealer replaced the steering damper and it is slightly better for now.i am worried there is a bigger problem that is creating unwanted wear and tear on the critical steering linkage and it will need to be repaired often to keep it safe. Happens mostly at speeds over 40 miles per hour and worse when hitting bumps on curves like tight interstate on ramps

At 80 mph a small bump in the road sent my truck into a death wobble which violently shook my truck and steering wheel. I had to slow my truck down to 35mph before the shaking stopped. It was very dangerous on the highway to have to slow down this much

I have been experiencing increased instances of "death wobble" over the last 2-3,000 miles. My truck currently has almost 24,000 miles now.

The truck shakes violently when hitting bumps on highway at speeds above 55 to the point it will shake the wheel out of your hands. This has happened several times and the last time it happened i crossed on coming traffic lane and slowed on the opposite shoulder before death wobble went away. Ford obviously knows this is an issue and replaced the steering dampener at 20k miles. That is nothing more than a band aid, not a repair. I refuse to let anyone drive this truck which is sad because it is brand new and cost $75k. This needs to be addressed with ford asap!!!

My 2019 f350 truck experienced the death wobble multiple times on recent trip.while towing our camper we hit a seem in the road which caused the truck to start violently shaking uncontrollably.i thought we broke and axle.i was able to slow the truck and pull over.i could not find any damage and so we continued.the truck had approximately 18500 miles on it.this did not occur again for about 1500 miles where it happened when we hit a small pot hole with our front left tire.again, violent uncontrollable shaking that only stops when speed is below 30 mph.i slowed to pull over but it stopped when my speed got low enough.we continued cautiously not knowing what happened.i did some research but could not find anything at the time.we were on an 8 week trip and had started our return direction so we continued.about 1300 miles later it happened again, stopped when our speed dropped.this time i was able to find information on the "death wobble" and now understood this is exactly what we were experiencing.i had to decide how to proceed as we had our family and camper 1400 miles away from home at this point.i drove very cautiously, and despite my best efforts it happened 2 more times, once without the camper.on our last leg from tn to nc the roads were especially bad and we had 5 more incidents.i drove 45 mph with my hazards on much of the way to get the truck home.it seems to be getting progressively worse and i would say it is not safe to drive anymore.any seam in the road or pot hole that impact the front tires at speeds above 50 mph will now cause this truck to go into violent uncontrollable shaking that only stops when speeds are reduced to below 30 mph.very bad situation to be in, especially when this seems to be such a know issue.this should not be allowed to continue.

Vehicle goes into a violent shake when hitting a bump or dip on the road. Most often occurs while on the highway at a speed of about 60 mph. The shaking will persist until the vehicle's speed is reduced to about 30 mph. At least 50% of the vehicle's controllability is lost during this event. This is a continues problem that occurs when the above driving conditions are met.

Multiple instances of the death wobble / sustained steering wheel oscillations while travelling in the memphis, tn area.have contacted the local ford service departmentand they plan to replace the steering link damper. Suspect that this is only a short term band aide. Wife has history of costochondritis, truck shook so violently it reinjured her during the last dw/sswo event.vehicle has less than 28,000 miles on it.

On dec 2, 2019 i was driving my 2019 ford f-350 (with 15,000mi) on insterstate 505 at approximately 65-70mph while overtaking a tractor-trailer. With no obvious cause, the front wheels / steering of the vehicle began shaking uncontrollably. I assumed there was some sort of major wheel damage or blowout of a tire and tried to pull over. The vehicle was very hard to steer and i did not have adequate speed to get safely past the semi, so i slowed down in the fast lane and pulled to the right behind the semi. Once stopped i inspected the vehicle and was surprised to find no obvious damage. I resumed driving without any apparent issue. About 45mi further down the road the exact same issue happened again at 65mph. This time there were no vehicles nearby on the highway so i slowed below 30mph and the vibration stopped. I accelerated back to 65mph without the vibration issue and continued my trip home.the intensity of these vibrations is very extreme and the vehicle is almost uncontrollable when they are happenening. There is no way to avoid or anticipate that they will happen, and the only remedy is to slow or stop the vehicle immediately, which is extremely dangerous to do in a freeway environment when the steering is barely working. My vehicle is using original, unmodified stock tires, wheels, and suspension components and is ovf relatively low mileage (15,000mi).

On the highway at about 55 miles per hour, i hit a rough patch on the road and the truck started shaking violently.the shaking was so violent i thought the front wheels would tear off and i would be involved in a catastrophic accident.i feel very lucky i didn't lose complete control of the truck and be involved in a multi-vehicle accident endangering myself and others.i slowed down and pulled over and the shaking stopped.it happened again a few minutes later. This was/is an extremely dangerous situation.

Was driving my new 2019 ford f-350 and rolled over a rough section of road. Truck started to wobble really bad and had to slow to 20mph to get out of this situation.

Driving straight down a freeway, hit a bump, front wheels start shaking violently. This is the 5th time in the last 2 weeks. The only way i've been able to stop the shaking is to slow down to 40mph.

Going down the road at highway speeds. Hitting a bump truck shakes uncontrollably it's worse when in a curve. Have to slow down to approx 35 mph to get it to stop.

My 2019 ford f-350 with 16,000 miles on the odometer is experiencing violet shaking of the steering wheel while traveling at speeds of 50-65 mph on the highway.the only way to get the vehicle under control is to slow down on dangerous highways to below 30 mph.i feel it's going to cause an accident sooner or later. The vehicle is all stock and no modifications of the tires, wheels, or suspension have been performed.

Twice today i experienced the so called 'dead wobble' driving down the interstate at approximates 70 mph.i had to pull to the side of the highway & decrease my speed to approximately 25-30 to get it to stop.

At speeds greater than 45 mph, when hitting rough pavement or a joint in the roadway (such as a freeway overpass or bridge), the steering wheel wobbles (oscillates) violently back and forth.it cannot recover until speeds are reduced below 45 mph.this is repeatable.i have filmed an occurrence and posted on youtube for review:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rupsa7kdsjothis video shows a typical occurrence.traveling about 75 mph on a clear, flat, straight stretch of freeway (i-25, just south of fort collins, co).a small joint (a normal part of the freeway) caused the wheels to shake uncontrollably, which causes the steering wheel to violently shake and oscillate back an forth.it's very difficult to control or even grasp the steering wheel.the only recourse is to find a way to slow the vehicle.once speeds dip below about 45 mph, the vehicle is able to recover.my vehicle is completely stock and has no aftermarket parts, shocks, lifts, or other equipment.it has stock wheels, stock tires, stock suspension components, etc.it had about 13,000 miles on the odometer when this problem began.this appears to be a known problem (internet) and ford had a service bulletin tso 18-2268 to address.however, this tsb only applies to trucks built on or before 31-july-2018.my truck was built during march 2019.ford clearly hasn't resolved the underlying issue and now doesn't even have an active tsb to address the symptoms.

Traveling at approximately 50-55 mph on a curved 2 lane highway i hit a small bump in the road. This caused the front of the vehicle and steering wheel to shake wildly and almost caused a collision with the vehicles behind me. I was only able to get it to stop shaking by coming to an almost complete stop in the middle of a narrow 2 lane mountain highway. As i was coming to a stop i had very little control over the vehicle and actually crossed the center line and went several feet into the oncoming lane.

Experienced a wobble in the steering after hitting a small bump in the pavement. It was violent enough to send me into the left lane.this truck is less than a year old with only 5500 miles on it. Speed was 65 miles an hour and had to quickly reduce speed to avoid going into the median.

When driving on the interstate at 75 mph i hit a small bump in the road while changing lanes. The entire truck began shaking violently. The steering wheel was shaking so violently that i had a difficult time controlling the vehicle while i returned to the right lane and reduced speed. The shaking stopped when the speed was reduced to 30 mph. Twenty minutes later while traveling on the interstate i hit an expansion joint at 65 mph and the violent shaking returned. I reduced speed and the shaking stopped at 30 mph.

When driving from speed limit 60_80 and i hit a small bump or hole in the road i experienced death wobble to the point i have to slow down significantly.

The contact owns a 2019 ford f-350. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, the vehicle started to violently vibrate, before coming to a stop. The vibration stopped after the vehicle was brought to a complete stop. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 17,600.

Driving at 50 mph, hit a slight bump in the road, experienced severe shaking of truck and steering out of control. The "death wobble" would not stop until speed was reduced to a near stop. First happened 1/17/20 with 12,005 mile. Dealer replaced steering damper on 2/1/20 at 13,120 miles.

Experienced death wabble on a 2019 ford f350 after hitting a small bump while traveling in a straight line at 40 mph on a paved major city street. Able to stop the wabble after slowing to 25 mph. Truck has less than 5000 miles on the odometer. Drive-train and suspension are stock and truck purchased from a new vehicle dealership less than one year ago. Symptoms are the same as i would expect to experience with worn suspension parts on a jeep cherokee or wrangler, not a new truck. Given the newness of the vehicle and low mileage, it is highly unlikely to be worn parts, which means it is possible there is a design defect where the frame at the steering box or a suspension interface flexes creating the same symptoms as worn components

I hit a small pot hole in the road at approximately 50mph and the truck and steering wheel started shaking violently. I lost control of the vehicle until i got it slowed to 20mph.

Front wheels/steering stabilizer bars. 2019 f-350 srw with 8' bed and 5400 miles on the truck. The front wheels started bouncing when hitting potholes. It was noticeable at lower speeds (less than 35mph) but it was significantly more defined at speeds of over 35-40mph. I did not think much of it until it occurred a couple of times while doing about 45mph and to a point where i almost lost control of the vehicle. Note: the truck has never been off-road or driven recklessly. I recently turned it in to ford where they confirmed that there have been many other instances reported with the same model/year truck. Technician stated it is becoming a common complaint and related to a faulty front wheel stabilizer bars. Ford is currently replacing the stabilizer bars on my truck.hence i felt obligated to report this issue in hopes to avoid someone possibly getting into a severe accident due to this faulty stabilizer bars.

I was driving around 60 miles an hour on i-40 east in amarillo texas a couple days ago + the highway got really narrow between the concrete barriers and i guess i hit a couple bumps in the road and my front end started shaking really bad it made my pick up change lanes and i was only able to stop the shimmy by hitting the brakes till i got down to about 40 miles an hour. There was a car just behind me to the left that if he would have been. Closer, 20 ft more we would have collided. This is a nearly new vehicle only 5200 miles on ithas no other front end shaking problems until i did this. Thank you for any news or campaigns related to this problem.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Sever death wobble at speed and while breaking. Stealing wheel jerks violently to the point vehicle control is difficult.

While traveling at approximately 65 mph on interstate 10 upon encountering a bump in the road the truck started violently shaking the front steering and wouldn't stop until truck was stationary. (death wobble). It occurred at 40 mph while city driving after a turn, 3 days before that.

Going straight at 55 mph the steering wheel and front of the truck started shaking ,wobbling and loss of control. I had no control of the vehicle as i ran off of the road into the mud on a county blacktop road. This is the second time this has happened.

Experienced `death wobble` at about 28,000 miles in 2019 ford f-350. Steering becomes very unstable and dangerous. This happens at highway speeds and when vehicle hits a tiny bump or pothole.

Death wobble

When driving 55 mph, i approached a bridge which was a slight elevation in roadway, i was pulling a horse trailer which was a goose neck.when i went over the change in elevation the truck's front end shook violently, the steering wheel shook so hard it was hard to hold onto, i slowed down the truck to 10 mph and the shaking went down.this was extremely scarey and dangerous, luckily no one was behind me on the highway and the weather was not bad.this truck only has 20,000 miles on it.i really wish there was a recall regarding this truck, i want to trade it in at this point, it's too scarey to drive.

Truck hit bump in road and began shaking violently to the point of almost losing control at 45mph. Very hard to hold onto steering wheel to bring truck to a stop.

With the truck empty, while towing a small enclosed trailer on interstate 84 east of boise, idaho at exactly 80 mph (cruise control), my wife and i experienced "death wobble". The front end started to shake violently. I was unable to steer the truck and had to slam on the breaks and pull over. Traffic behind me had to react quickly - including several semi's. Extremely dangerous and frightening experience. I thought we were going to get rear-ended by one semi truck and trailer. This happened 3 times that evening - even though i had slowed down. To make it home safely, i slowed way down.

Have experienced violent steering wheel and front end shaking about 8 to 10 times (3 of which my wife informed me of recently when she was driving truck by herself) since i purchased truck october 31st 2019. The violent shaking occurs when traveling over railroad tracks, expansion joints and slight dips in roadways usually over 50 mph. In order to make truck stop shaking we have to slow down to around 15 -20 mph. Very dangerous!violent shaking does not occur when hauling 5th wheel trailer or cab over camper.

After hitting a bump on the freeway(i215 in utah) at 75mph the front end/steering started shaking violently.had to brake/slow down to about 45mph to get the shaking to stop.was difficult to keep the truck in the lane and avoid other traffic around the truck. Truck is completely stock- no modifications with approx 31k miles. All miles are highways miles. After doing some internet research there is a service bulletin from ford to have the steering dampener/suspension checked.this appears to be a common problem that ford has been very slow to rectify.

I was driving my truck down interstate 95 in the center lane at about 75 miles an hour with about 2000 pounds of tile in the back. All of a sudden i hit a bumpy patch in the road and the front end started vibrating like a tuning fork. It was vibrating so fast and so bad that we had to pull off the highway (in three lanes of heavy traffic) in order to get it to stop.it continued until we could get off the highway for a good ten or fifteen seconds maybe even longer to get off the road.i had two pallets of tile in the back end and was worried it was going to vibrate them onto the road. After the truck stopped the vibrating stopped of course. I walked around looking for a flat tire or other issue but nothing.then we got on the highway again and the problem was no longer there.i have had the problem in much less severe cases many times where a vibration happened after hitting a rough spot but nothing like this.i called the service manager at kelly ford and they said unless we could duplicate the problem they can't really do much about the problem.tonight i searched on the internet and understand that it's been a problem with ford for a while and there's even a class action lawsuit involving the issue.

Driving 55 mph, the truck hit a small bump in the paved road and lost all control of steering and steering wheel was shaking. Once truck came to a near stop i was able to take over steering and the wheel stopped shaking.

At approximately 60mph hit rough spot in road and truck started 'death wobble'!had to brake hard to less than 20mph to get truck to stop.this happened first with the truck having only 2830 miles on it.next time about 100 miles later happened at 75mph and i thought i was going to loose control.called dealership and was told it would be 2-3 weeks before they would have parts and was also told to not expect the new parts to fix the truck.i was told prior to purchasing the truck that the issues had been fixed prior to my purchase since the truck was built in september 2019.i depend on my vehicles to make my living, can't do that with them in the shop with a unknown fix.ford needs to stop being allowed to sell this trucks until there is a proven fix!! how many people will be injured or killed do you this problem before action is taken.dealer asked me what i wanted to do after i complained about the 2-3 week delay on even being able to work in the truck.i said you knew these trucks still had the problem so just refund my money and i'll go down the road.was laughed at and said that wouldn't happen.again bought the truck october 10, 2019 and it now has 3,120 miles on it.this needs to be stopped.

Truck has a re-ococcuring death shake / wobble that happens when you hit bumps at highway speed (60 mph plus). Only way to regain control is to abruptly decelerate the vehicle to around 20 mph.has now happened multiple times and it's getting woemaw. It's to a point where i no longer allow my wife and kids to be in the vehicle.these trucks should not be on the road as it's a known issue.

Death wobble, frequently on the highway, moving

When driving at highway speeds (60+mph) and the truck hits a bump in the road, the truck experiences death wobble to a degree that the brakes have to be applied emergent until the truck slows below 10mph. Which causes the truck to become a road hazard. Fear is that the death wobble will cause an accident. As well, there is increasing front end vibration when driving above 60mph on apparent smooth interstates.

The contact stated that the vehicle experienced the death wobble. The contact stated that when the vehicle rode over a pothole, the steering wheel shook violently. The contact stated after approximately five to ten second the shaking to stopped. No warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to burns ford (2001 charlotte hwy, lancaster, sc 29720) three times. The steering damper, the drag link and track bar ball joint, the passenger's side upper tie rod were replaced. The contact stated that the repairs failed to fix the failure. The failure persisted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.*ln

My truck started a 'death wobble' at 13k miles.i took it to the dealership where they kept it for 29 days.i was told they fixed the problem with an alignment. After getting it back the truck did not drive that well.stiff steering. The truck felt weird and shook when you hit bumps. I took it back to the dealer where kept it for another week.i was told another alignment and steering dampener was replaced.after getting it back. There is no change.it still drives bad.the service manager told me that the problem was not fixed.just masked by the alignment. I reported it to ford corporate. They said the truck didn't have a problem.this is very frustrating considering how much i paid for it.

On three occasions, on highways, we have hit a pot hole or bump, and the f350 goes into an extreme wobble with the steering wheel. It is incredibly jarring and we've almost lost control. When brought to dealer, they replaced the damper. I've now done research and there are countless persons going through this exact issue: https://www.facebook.com/groups/158686091563038i can't believe this is so prevalent and unaddressed. Someone's going to be hurt badly or worse. Apparently the dealers just are replacing the damper to cover themselves. This is not a long term solution. I have no video, but the facebook group has tons! it's crazy and it is exactly what happened!

When driving at highway speed pulling a trailer experiencing violent front end vibration and wobble, this caused us to run off the road into the shoulder nearly causing ya to flip over into the medium.the tires are properly inflated and checked daily. This violent shaking and wobble happens almost daily in a truck purchased as new. This violent shaking started at around 7000 miles and has continued. The vehicle is currently in ford dealership service at fowlerville ford in michigan to have this issues and other looked at. This is an extremely dangerous problem.

Hit bump had steering death wobble. Would not stop violently shaking until i slowed way down.

At some point during a 2 hour interstate highway drive, the power tailgate opened itself.this damaged the tailgate itself, and severely damaged the front of the fifth wheel trailer that i was towing.the problem was noticed when we turned into our campground and heard a grinding/popping noise behind us.

This is a 2019 f-350. The drivers door latch froze. I could not close the door until the truck warmed up and thawed. The weather and truck were dry and cold. It had rained two days earlier. This should not happen in 2019. *dt *dt

The contact owns a 2019 ford f-350. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 18e021000 (structure); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact was unable to contact a dealer or manufacturer to confirm if the parts wereavailable for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.parts distribution disconnect.

Inadvertant tailgate opening.i have a 2019 ford f-350 lariat super duty.the tailgate has opened 4 times within the first 800 miles of operation.there is no alert system in the casb to alert the driver the tailgate has opened.the only indication is an alert while backing to check the area.i have a toneau cover over the truck bed that obstructs the rear camera from alerting the driver.i was unaware the tailgate was open while driving the vehicle.fortunately nothing fell out during the trips.this occurred on multiple occasions and different mileages.

Previous complaint #11160684. I took my new f-350 to framingham ford for a "frozen" door latch on 1/17/18. They followed ford recall 18n03 for 2017-18 models. I picked it up on 1/19/18 and the door would not latch again! it had been dry for three days. I don't think it is necessarily a frozen water issue. It might be something to due with cold. It was dry and cold, around 22 degrees both days the latch would not engage.

I purchased this f350 new, and took delivery of this vehicle on december 12 2019.8 times since receiving.this vehicle i have experienced eight (8) un commanded tailgate releases.i noticed that the tailgate was down when receiving a warning while backing.i have a tonneau cover on the truck which prevents the rear camera from showing the tailgate open.as of yet i have not lost any cargo as a result of this opening.i did not hit ithe inside release, or the key fob to direct the opening.

Tailgate randomly opens while driving.has happened at least a dozen times in the last six months.(july-nov 2019)

The tailgate on my ford f350 was repaired last year from the recall pertaining to the tailgate opening on its own. The tailgate opened on its own again today. 02/26/2021. The first time it happened i was turning right from a main city street onto a side street going about 10 mph. Today i was going about 5 mph and turned left into a parking lot.

Tailgate repeatedly opened on its own. Tailgate locked and will not open. I see recall for other ford superduty related to same issue but apparently this vehicle has not been recalled.*dt

The tailgate will open up when backup up in truck - there is recall but the recall does not fix the issue. I have the recall work completed by ford dealer but it still opens up when backup with trailer attached. This has happen 3 times since warranty repair. Ford did not fox this problem and they will not ackowledge it.

Tailgate recall (ford # 19s48) was performed in spring of 2020. Supposed to fix electronic tailgates from opening inadvertently. In october of 2020, my tailgate dropped while pulling trailer, causing damage to tailgate.

The tail gate opens on its own while driving and has even happened while towing my fifth wheel camper which caused extensive damage to both the camper and the truck ford claims there's nothing wrong and the recalls working but this is still happening

The contact owns a 2019 ford f-350. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the tailgate unlatched after the key fob was inadvertently depressed in his pocket. The contact stated that there was damage to the tailgate. The vehicle was taken to henry curtis ford (1120 auto center dr, petaluma, ca 94952, (707) 769-2300) to be inspected. The contact was referred to napa county ford (570 soscol ave, napa, ca 94559,(707) 255-2580). The contact was informed that the vehicle operated without the boundaries of how the vehicle was designed to operate. The contact stated that the mechanic agreed that there was a design flaw within the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer closed the case as per the manufacturer's request. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure and referred the contact back to the dealer for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 5,000.

The contact owns a 2019 ford f-350. While driving approximately 3 mph and pulling a fifth wheel trailer, the tailgate dropped open involuntarily and punctured a hole in the trailer. The tailgate was also damaged. The vehicle was taken to hart ford/lincoln (117 lake st, roscommon, mi 48653), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer submitted an open geospatial consortium to headquarters, which was declined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 8,800.

Truck has death wobble problem. While in motion itshakes violentlywhen the suspension cycles a certain way and causes loss of control

While driving about 60-65 mph the steering wheel started shaking violently as the whole front end felt like it was shaking apart. I had to maneuver to the shoulder and stop before it stopped.very difficult to keep the vehicle under control.

Severe shaking and movement in the steering system causing an almost loss in control.truck is currently in the shop for the 5th time to resolve the issue.

The vehicle when encountering a road obstruction starts to shake and shimmy, pulling the steering wheel too and fro. This causes the driver to instantly put on the brakes. The situation is all over the internet. Ford knows about this issue and still sell them to unaware customers.

Hit bump had steering death wobble. Would not stop violently shaking until i slowed way down.

Traveling at about 80 mph went over a bridge approach, the steering wheel violently shook until i hit the brakes and slowed to about 25 mph.aka death wobble.

Going down the road at highway speeds. Hitting a bump truck shakes uncontrollably it's worse when in a curve. Have to slow down to approx 35 mph to get it to stop.

My new f350 with 6k miles on it starts to shake violently for no reason at all on speeds over 60 mph and the only way to correct the problem is to slow down to almost a stop. The steering wheel was shaking violently and so was the front of the truck.

On normal highway speed's after hitting a small bump i experienced a violent shaking in the steering that would not go away until i slow down to under 20 miles an hour

'death wobble.' hitting any uneven road conditions at highway speed causes vehicle to shake violently. This is at random and you never know when it is going to happen. Temporarily lose control of the vehicle.

I have been experiencing increased instances of "death wobble" over the last 2-3,000 miles. My truck currently has almost 24,000 miles now.

Truck violently shakes when going over minor road imperfection such as a bridge seam or small rut when over ~45-50 mph. Steering wheel shakes, whole truck feels like it is hopping or shimmying. Very difficult to control the truck. Will not stop shaking until i get to under 40 mph (which is added danger on a freeway). This has happened repeatedly, and is getting worse.

Severe wobble from 67 miles per hour and up. Not consist comes and goes ever few minutes.tremendous vibrations while driving.

Vehicle started shaking violently when i was driving on the highway with 60 mph, i lost control.luckily there was no car next to mine but if there was i wouldhave crashed.i can not trust this truck any longer.i am terrified to drive.

While traveling 65-70 mph on highway the front end of truck began oscillating violently causing loss of steering. The condition was only stopped after emergently braking in the middle lane of the highway to a full stop. Very scary!

Traveling between 55-65 on the highway i hit a small bump in the road and the truck started shaking violently. Had to slow down to almost a complete stop to get it to stop. Very unsafe.

Truck would violently shake going over bumps and will occasionally throw you off the road when going over bumpy roads on freeway. Especially if it's a slight curb. Dealership has already changed steering stabilizer. It happened right after the repair and i almost lost control on the high. Possibly injuring or killing my passengers.

Hit a few bumps in the road and the front left (drivers) tire wobbles as if is going to fall off. Have to slow from interstate sppes to 25 mph to stop it. This has happened several times now.

Driving 55 mph, the truck hit a small bump in the paved road and lost all control of steering and steering wheel was shaking. Once truck came to a near stop i was able to take over steering and the wheel stopped shaking.

While driving i ran over a small pothole and the steering wheel began violently wobbling back and forth to the point that i almost lost control. This is now commonly called the death wobble.

Going straight at 55 mph the steering wheel and front of the truck started shaking ,wobbling and loss of control. I had no control of the vehicle as i ran off of the road into the mud on a county blacktop road. This is the second time this has happened.

Experienced several death wobbles hauling oilfield equipment down to texas, luckily there was no traffic at the time as the truck bucked all over the road, happened two more times on trip on rough roadways had to slow to59 to avoid. Very lucky no accident.

When driving the vehicle at highway speed vibration can be felt in steering wheel/accelerator/floorboard.when i hit a small bump while driving thw vibration gets worse.

After the contact purchased the vehicle, there was a slight shimmy in the front end. While driving 70 mph over a pothole, there was a shimmy in the front end, the vehicle jerked and veered into a ditch. The contact was able to continue driving. While driving less than 70 mph, the vehicle operated as intended. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to sanderson ford (6400 n 51st ave, glendale, az 85301, (800) 729-3501), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact called surprise ford (16825 w waddell rd, surprise, az 85388, (623) 792-2522) where an appointment was scheduled. The manufacturer was contacted and planned to diagnose the vehicle, but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 26,000.

The truck has started getting the death wobble at about 18,000 miles. Took into the dealership and they replaced steering dampner with an after market one per ford. Got truck back and still has death wobble. Taking back to ford this week with 21,000 mikes on truck. This is a serious problem. It does the death wobble anytime you hit a bump at 50 plus mph

Travelling at speed (+/-65mph) on i-25in colorado, i hit a pothole. Immediately, my steering wheel started shaking uncontrollably. This truck was purchased new in 2019, and currently has less than 6,000 miles on it.

While driving there can be a clunking noise heard and felt from under the driver seat going 60-80 mph on the highway. The clunking is intermittent.the clunking happens more when we are towing our rv which is 16k lb. When the rv is unattached the clunking can be heard and felt less. Most of the roads are smooth when the clunking starts. A 2019 f450 owner told us they had the same issues at 7000 miles after putting it into 4l. They informed us the took it into ford and they found out that during the assembly of the truck, apart was broken off. Ford fixed it under warranty because it was a factory caused issues.

Sustained steering wheel oscillation (aka death wobble) while driving down the highway at approximately 65 mph. I drove over a rough bridge expansion joint and the steering wheel started to violently shake back and forth until i slowed to approximately 25mph and the oscillations ceased.

At 80 mph a small bump in the road sent my truck into a death wobble which violently shook my truck and steering wheel. I had to slow my truck down to 35mph before the shaking stopped. It was very dangerous on the highway to have to slow down this much

Sever death wobble at speed and while breaking. Stealing wheel jerks violently to the point vehicle control is difficult.

Was driving my new 2019 ford f-350 and rolled over a rough section of road. Truck started to wobble really bad and had to slow to 20mph to get out of this situation.

Twice today i experienced the so called 'dead wobble' driving down the interstate at approximates 70 mph.i had to pull to the side of the highway & decrease my speed to approximately 25-30 to get it to stop.

The contact owns a 2019 ford f-350. The contact stated while driving various speeds, the steering wheel shook violently whenever the vehicle went over bumps in the roadway. The contact stated that the failure ceased after slowing down and coming to a complete stop. The vehicle was taken to an independnent mechanic and the wheels were rotated. The vehicle was taken to merrill ford okemos (1830 w grand river ave, okemos, mi 48864, (517) 347-1830) where the tires were replaced however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the same independnent mechanic who tested but had not installed a suspension dampener which was used to cushion the vehicle from the bumps on the roadway. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 15,000.

Death wooble took it to the dealer said parts are being redesigned 4-6 weeks out will call when they get them. Very dangerous situation truck has 21000 miles on it problem has happened numerous times on highway 70-80 mph.

The contact owns a 2019 ford f-350. While driving 45 mph over a rough road, the front end of the vehicle vibrated violently. The vehicle was taken to ed koehn ford lincoln of greenville(11064 w carson city rd, greenville, mi 48838, (616) 754-4689) where the vehicle was test driven. The dealer diagnosed that the steering stabilizer needed to be replaced; however, the part was on backorder. The vehicle was taken to tony betten & sons ford (3839 plainfield ave ne, grand rapids, mi 49525, (616) 363-6841) where the contact was informed that ford was working on a solution for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 4,000.

Every 10k miles, the truck develops the "death wobble" in which the truck shakes violently after hitting small bumps at highway speed. The only solution is to quickly brake and hope that no one has you. Dealers are sympathetic, but say that ford cannot seem to find the problem and they can only replace the front stabilizer and know that the problem will return. The current stabilizer (third) has just started to fail at 31k miles. Incredibly dangerous while towing (or ever) and it makes us scared to drive the truck.

The truck has 26000 miles on it but it happened at around 20000 miles. I was driving on the highway going downhill and the truck, when i touched the brakes, started to violently shake back and forth. I could not control it i though the engine was shutting down or something but it was not. I had to slow down and pull over, it was scary. I looked around my truck to see if there was a tire issue but found nothing. I had it happen more than once on the same trip. I had service done recently but there was no mention about the recall and just saw there is one. I have the fordpass app and it showed up but i wanted to be on the record that even now the 2019s still have the problem of uncontrolled wobble. I did not know of this before i purchased but have now learned it has been a problem for many years and it still exists. My entire family was in the truck at the time and it could have ended badly but there was not traffic on the road thank god!

Truck hit bump in road and began shaking violently to the point of almost losing control at 45mph. Very hard to hold onto steering wheel to bring truck to a stop.

When driving down the highway and hit a bump the truck violently shakes, losing total control of vehicle, until the speed is able to go down to around 20 to 30 mph.extremely terrifying when traveling on the highway at 70mph with 18 wheelers on both sides of you.this has happened several times, most recent on 4-23-20.this problem needs to be addressed.

Death wobble

While traveling over bumps excessive vibration in steering and in cab. Even after steering dampener was fixed.

This vehicle violently shakes after hitting a grooved surface or a small bump in the road.the shaking takes a great deal of power to bring the vehicle back under control.

I was driving 70mph and hit a bump when the truck became uncontrollable. I could not turn to get off the hwy and had to slow down to 25mph before the shaking stopped.

When driving from speed limit 60_80 and i hit a small bump or hole in the road i experienced death wobble to the point i have to slow down significantly.

With less than 100 miles from used vehicle purchase (2-5-2021 with 33,400 miles at sale), vehicle experienced three (3) separate severe and sustained steering wheel oscillations (aka death wobble) at interstate speeds of 65-70mph.incidents occurred while traveling in a straight line after crossing over bridge expansion joints and/or rough pavement.driver had difficulty maintaining lane of travel at that speed and had to make emergency braking in order to exit onto shoulder.once at speeds around 5mph, oscillation ceased.vehicle is unpredictable and unsafe to drive at speeds 45-70mph, and i cannot imagine what could happen while pulling a trailer when the oscillation occurs.my understanding of vehicle suspension dynamics leads me to believe this is a combination of possible faulty steering dampener, failure of joints, improper factory alignment specs, all combined to create a resonance in the solid axle.this isn't a "band-aid" fix and will require replacing/upgrading several components which have become stressed during oscillation.also, consider adjustment of factory specs on caster.i am aware of ford's customer satisfaction program 20n04 (tsb), but i have yet to see a full recall on this very dangerous matter.

Front end bounced uncontrollably at highway speed (65) on relatively smooth road surface - only solution was to slow to below 40 mph

On 7 occasions, vehicle ran over a small bump in the road and truck began to shake violently, research of youtube videos shows ..... Ford (death wobble).

Death wobble after hitting rough patch in road or bridge joint

I hit a small pot hole in the road at approximately 50mph and the truck and steering wheel started shaking violently. I lost control of the vehicle until i got it slowed to 20mph.

Front end suspension and steering wheel shake violently when hitting a bump in the road at around 65 mph. Lost complete control of truck until i hit brakes hard to slow down and shimmying stopped. Very serious and dangerous situation. This has happened two times, once at about 30,000 miles and again at 45000 miles.

Purchased new 2019 f350 with the ultimate trailer tow package. Also purchased 5th wheel hitch. After getting home and removing hitch, noticed two of the four pucks have a locking mechanism for securing the hitch. One of the pucks has nothing. One puck has a partial lock. Photos attached. I made attempts to find out if this is normal but can't find any answers. Can you help?photos available upon request.

Sunroof exploded while on highway in motion

Premature tire wear as a direct result of death wobble. 65000 mile 10 ply commercial front tires are balding on the outer area of the tires due to front end trouble caused by death wobble, current actual mileage 21,571ford motor company has issued a field service action 20n04 they are finally admitting there is a death wobble issue and front end trouble, however they are claiming premature tire wear in not a result of the front end problems. Front tire premature tire wear is a direct result of service action 20n04fowlerville ford dealership refused to warranty and replace tires stating ford motor company claims the premature tire ware is not a result of death wobble service action 20n04.

One morning while getting into our vehicle (2019 f350) after is had been parked for two days i noticed the rear window was bulging outward and shattered. There is no evidence the window was damaged from the outside, and the window is bulging outward.it appears, the pressurizing of the vehicle cabin by shutting the door could cause enough pressure to blow outa window.the vehicle was parked on a friday at 1400, it remained parked then on sunday we noticed the broken window. The vehicle was parked on street which led me to think vandalism, however the outward bulging of the window is evidence the break came from the inside. The doors were locked which means no one could have gotten inside the vehicle.

The pano roof on my 2019 ford f350 exploded outward like popcorn. The truck has 14,000 miles. It was siting still when the glass exploded. Ford has refused to help at every level contacted.

Was t boned on jan. 17,2020 . Hit on passenger side. Truck caught on fire inside cab of driver side almost trapping me inside.

Our automatic tailgate on our 2019 ford f350 truck opens and comes down randomly. It has happened 6 times in the first 3 weeks of ownership. This has happened while parked and while driving, the last time the key fob was in the cup holder when we were filling the truck at the gas station. With our 5th wheel trailer attached, the tailgate came down as we pulled away. Not knowing it came down, we made a turn pulling out of the gas station which caused over a $1,000 in damage to our trailer. This randomly opening tailgate is dangerous for anyone pulling a trailer or with any materials that may fall out of the truck bed. Ford continues to deny there is a problem.

Truck gets super strong diesel smell and some white smoke in cab of truck happens at random

While parking, foot on brake, engine increased rpm to very high level. 2019 truck with 41 miles, vehicle was stationary.

On two occasions the truck has gotten the shakes and it's hard to control on the road. Steering wheel vibrates bad too. Was going about 50 mph each time. Once down the highway in a construction area and the other time down a county road. I believe it has a 'death wobble'

Our company has had multiple vehicle failures of the shutter door which prevents the vehicle from defrosting causing dangerous low visibly through the windshield. Specifically 3 - f350's and 2 - f550's all of which are model years 2019 and 2020. They have been replaced under warranty and continue to fail at an alarming rate.

Windshield wipers continue to operate in slowest intermittent mode when switched to the off position. This also causes the headlights to be illuminated. This happens at all speeds from a full stop to highway speeds. This appears to be a widespread problem with wiper switches amongst f-350 pick up trucks in florida or hotter climates. Part cost is $75.00 dollars plus tax and 1 hour of labor $130.00. This causes driver distraction and crash potential.

A small rock shot up from a simi in front of my truck, hit my windshield and cracked my window.i had it replaced with an oem windshield.now afterparking my unit for 3 months, i find another chip in the new windshield, withanother crack.the issue raises the question on how safe are these oem windshields?

On sept 4,2020 with mileage at 20980 and again on sept 3, 2020 at 21560 at around 65 to 70 mph the front end wobbled for 6 to 8 seconds in a uncontrolled manor. This made control very difficult and dangerous. I checked the air pressure which was at the recommend level. Both times i was traveling on well maintained state hwy. I find this unacceptable and highly dangerous. This was on a straight road.

Valve stems are leaking on aluminum wheels due to corrosion between metal valve stem and aluminum wheels. Have been replaced several times by dealers. Some tires leak air at a faster rate. Tires loose air whether stationary or in motion.

2019 f350 dually with 21,000 milesvalve stems leak on factory wheels. Front passenger tire loses air and goes flat overnight. Rear passenger tire loses air 30 pounds overnight drivers side rear tires there are two both lose 20 pounds of air overnight front drivers side tire loses air 10 pounds overnight six valve stems in all everyone of them leaks. Truck is in fowlerville ford dealership to have valve stems replaced.

I hit a small pot hole in the road at approximately 50mph and the truck and steering wheel started shaking violently. I lost control of the vehicle until i got it slowed to 20mph.

This vehicle violently shakes after hitting a grooved surface or a small bump in the road.the shaking takes a great deal of power to bring the vehicle back under control.

Just bought truck from fred beans of boyertown. Truck has very hard shaking when hitting a rough part of roadway while traveling around 50mph and upward.almost lost control of truck.

When driving the vehicle at highway speed vibration can be felt in steering wheel/accelerator/floorboard.when i hit a small bump while driving thw vibration gets worse.
