I was just recently involved in a head on collision with a tree when i lost control of my vehicle, which is a new 2016 ford f-350, on august 24th, 2017. This accident resulted in a total of 5 surgeries in less then 11 days! i have severe trauma & other related injuries that will require more surgeries. The entire front end of my truck was pushed back about 2-3 feet & none of my airbags deployed! neither driver side nor passenger side air bags deployed...let alone any of the side airbags! i've had no luck in dealing with anyone from ford corporate & would like to know how i can get someone to help me address this issue? i've called everyone i could think of, but have had no luck. I was actually told by ford customer relations that i needed to read my owners manual to find out why my airbags didn't deploy! can you believe that's what they told me?! true story! i was completely dumbfounded by their comment. So if you can help me, then please feel free to contact me at: [xxx]or via email @ [xxx]thank you for your time & response to this matter!respectfully submitted-[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).*dt*dt*dt

Referenced ford had the driver's side airbag deploy while vehicle was parked in a heated garage overnight. There was no key in the ignition. We do not have a time frame for how long it was parked before deployment.after this deployment found that the truck no longer had power to start the vehicle or any dashboard indicators/gauges working. The headlights would come on/off randomly till battery is completely dead while parked and switch was in the off position.spoke with the dealership and they said it would take up to 6 months to repair. I decided to see if i was able to track down the problem myself. While working on the truck my dog happened to jump into the truck and all the lights came back on. I told him to get out and as he was getting down he made contact with the driver's side foot well cover and all the lights went back out. Upon removing the foot well cover i immediately found broken and charred wiring to include the airbag wires being compromised. The area of concern is where the foot well cover and the driver's side kick well panel come together just below and to the left of the parking brake. They use the open space below the foot well cover to run the wires to various different parts of the vehicle.speaking with kendall ford dealership in wasilla alaska, he informed me that the wire being chaffed/broken and charred was a normal wear and tear part and that ford would not repair it or replace the airbag. Really felt like they did not want to even talk to me.

I am a handicapped 65 yr. Old male. I purchased this vehicle in 2019 used from a ford dealer. Marchese ford, lebanon, ny. Pretty much since i have owned this vehicle, the back up camera has been working intermittingly. Sometimes it will work but lately, it is just lines and distorted objects. Or, will not come on at all. As i cannot work, i can't afford the money to diagnose the problem. I do know that it is not the camera as my son tried the camera on his friends truck and it worked properly. Now i see a recall for over 600,00 vehicles and am hoping to include my truck as i need this camera to back up as i cannot turn completely to see me surroundings due to illness/injuries. I need a wiring harness for my reverse camera on my f350.there are 0 parts available as this is a known issue with these trucks as is the in cab portion of this harness.i've talked to multiple dealers and ford themselves and there is no intent to make this part, which means my reverse camera will no longer function.part number fc3z-14a412-a

About 2018 my 2016 f350 diesel gas mileage was good around 16 mpg city and 19mpg hwyi took my truck to ford for service becausethe regeneration would keep coming on all the time well they finely said it was a sensor but did nothing to replace anything but they told me ford company told them to re-flash mycomputer in my truck because they had a update well my gas mileage went down to 11 mpg city and 9 mpg hwy and i try to take it back and tell me it is no longer under warranty.....so they did something to my fuel mileage which is totally wrong what they did to me because when i bought it the truck the fuel mileage was better so i am loosing money every time i drive itbecause what the did behind my back our first trip about oct 2019 we had power loss while driving at around 60 mph whereno matter how far i push the gas peddle to the floor nothing happen of flat land while towing and in heavy traffic where speed limit was higher then 60 mph where people were rushing around me and honking there horns and we could not pull over with no power to get over acheck engine light on we haven't used this truck much if i did would have more problems so i will not know what will happen this year on the 2nd tripalso i have check engine that comes on without towing but goes out after awhile and the dealer told me they cant do anything ..i do have a picture of the check engine light on at 20,203 miles and nowi only have 20,300 on a 2016 f350 truck right now and it is may 22, 2020 the check engine light was on more then one time but this was the first time i took a picture.

The entire vehicle shakes when driving over a certain speed limit (30+). After researching, this is known to the public as "death wobble".

My 2016 f 350 has the death wobble took it to dealership they repaired the alignment stabilizer arm and let me go and got on the interstate10 headed to houston got speed up 75 mph and hit bump and almost lost control of the truck,18 wheeler almost run me over; it scared so bad i have a pacemaker i thought i was having a heart attack!!

Started my 2016 f350 super duty 6.7 diesel on a freezing morning and drove to work. At lunch i started the vehicle and about 3 miles into my drive a slow speedthe check engine light came on. I went to a local auto zone for engine code diagnostics and the reader showed code p20ba. This code indicates there is an issue with the emissions def scr fluid heater - emissions related. I have not had the opportunity to take my vehicle to a ford dealer as they are completely booked for service calls. I searched the internet and found a recall for this issue in prior year models of the same vehicle years 2011-2015. There is no indication of a current recall for the 2016 year model so will likely have to pay upwards of $1200 (search information indication) to get this emission repair completed on a vehicle with ~60k miles. Since the body style and engine changes for this ford super duty model did not change until 2017 i'm hoping this recall will be extended to the 2016 year models as this seems to be an ongoing issue with other owners. The recall i am referring to is ford customer satisfaction program 18m01. The attached picture milage is not represtetative of this vehicle, the vehicle has about 60k miles on it. Thanks for your consideration.

Ford calls it a death wobble they say it's a common problem. Sad when dealership tells you that. Steering stabilizer several other parts will need to be bought to repair this problem. Wobble out of control on the highway can't understand how they can have such unsafe parts that could kill several people. Sad!

I was traveling up horseshoe bend (idaho). I heard a noise that sounded like a backfire, but towards the front. After i heard the noise, there was smoke coming from under the hood. My passenger and i were able to make it out of the vehicle. When i opened the hood, flames just exploded from under the hood. In just a matter of minutes, my truck and 5th wheel were engulfed in flames. The passenger and i were treated in first responder vehicle for smoke inhalation.

The reductant heater recall needs to extend to at least my 2016 truck. They have had excessive failures. My last truck was included in the recall (warranty extension-program 18m01). This recall was given in 2018 and they should have included more than just 2012 to 2015.

The contact owns a 2016 ford f-350. While driving approximately 70 mph, 'losing power' displayed and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was not able to restart and was towed to classic ford smithfield (1698 e booker dairy rd, smithfield, nc 27577). The dealer diagnosed the vehicle, but could not locate the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the failure was due to contaminated fuel. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000. The vin was not provided.*dtupdated 10/19/18

At approx. 4600 miles the engine started to shake violently a couple of miles after the emission regeneration started.ford has a service bulletin on this issue for f350 super duty trucks built in 2016.apparently the computer increases the fuel in one side of the cylinder head in order to burn off the soot on the emission filter.this causes the engine to back fire continually.the first time it happened we thought that the exhaust fell off it sounded so bad. The shaking got to be so bad that we had to pull off to the side of the road and turn off the engine when it happens.the truck was in three times for service at 5985, 10669 and 15210. First, ford did a software update.the second time it was in for repair, the dealer pulled off the cylinder head and replaced it.that didn't work either.now, ford has decided to replace the entire engine.it takes about 5000 miles for the issue starts happening, so we will see if the new engine does the same thing.

Had truck taken in several times regarding loss of anti freeze told them every time i thought it was the inter oiler. They replaced other things said they had to do as manufacturers said. After several attempts with no luck. It finally ran out of warranty. They then replaced a egr cooler and said that was it charged me for it three days later the connecting rod went through the side of the motor and broke the crank in several places as they said it was out of warranty and tried to say i wouldn't leave it with them long enough they would not stand behind any of it including charging me for an egr cooler that had nothing wrong with it. Told me they had no idea what happened to it never seen anything like that before. They had the head pulled and what i say was very evident that antifreeze had flood a cylinder and locked it up. Can't believe i am the only one this has happened to. I do have photos and parts if needed.was in motion date motor blew up is approximately can get exact if needed

While driving on the interstate and upon exiting the truck will shutdown. After coming to a complete stop, putting the truck in park and turning off the key ignition, the truck will start back up.

The contact owns a 2016 ford f-350. The contact stated that while driving 70 mph, the fuel mode warning light illuminated, which caused the vehicle to stall for approximately one minute before resuming normal operation. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to tindol ford (1901 e. Franklin blvd, gastonia, nc 28054, (704) 867-8341) where it was diagnosed and it was determined that the fuel rail system failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 209,700. The vin was not available.

While driving on i-75 in the passing lane at between 70-75 mph, approaching macon,ga. Our vehicle slowed way down. We were able to make it to exit 167 before vehicle quit running. Vehicle quit on the exit ramp, less than a mile from where it 1st began slowing down. Vehicle was towed to riverside ford in macon. Upon examination by ford mechanic, while there was no water in the fuel, there was a slight amount of rust around rim and metal in the fuel filter. We had vehicle towed home. On monday we had the vehicle towed to robbie roberson ford in waycross, ga. Upon examination of the fuel system by one of their mechanics the same determination was made., slight rust around rim of fuel filter and metal in the filter. At no time did the water sensor light come on. The fuel pump had exploded. Ford assumed no liability although the vehicle is still under warranty. The vehicle fuel system should not be so sensitive that the fuel pump explodes just because of a little rust probably caused by condensation. Had we not been able to exit i-75 and the vehicle quit in traffic this could have resulted in a major accident with multiple injuries/deaths. Ford is aware they have an issue because they have a kit to fix it but refuse to acknowledge problem.

Truck was taken to green ford peoria il. For recall on the crankcase ventilation recall. After receiving my truck back the next day truck threw another engine light on and truck was returned that day to find reductant heater code was showing. My truck of course is a 2016 f350 with the 6.7 found recalls for previous years but not this truck year, same exact issue. I left the dealership preparing to enter the highway, truck was still under full power as i merged into heavy traffic speeding up to merge the truck lost power. I nearly was rear-ended as the traffic was moving at 70 mph. I was able to throw my flashers on and get to the side of the road. After speaking with the advisor at green ford i was told my truck went into limp mode. I purchased the truck used with 92k miles and have only put 3k on it since. I'm very dissapointed in this issue as i've seen it's a very common thing to happen. The recall should be extended to the 2016 6.7 just as the previous years

The diesel exhaust fluid system is faulty.i have been informed that gmc and chevy have recalled the system but ford has not.i have complained to ford with no response.my neighbor has 4 work trucks that have all needed replacing (so has mine).i have 2 friends who also have fords, one was covered under the factory warranty and the other was not.my mechanic states it is a known issue.

Locking hubs seized up at 17,000 miles.could only turn them with a wrench.the coating around the hub was bubbling with corrosion from inside. This problem has occurred on my previously owned f250 king ranch.dealership was aware of this problem and stated it was common.

October 8, 2018 at 3:45 pm heading north bound on us highway 55 at mile marker 191.8 towing a fifth wheel rv, hit rough pavement which caused uncontrollable oscillation of the steering wheel and violent shaking of the entire vehicle. You must slow the vehicle to under under 10 miles an hour to regain control.this same type of situation happen on august 4, 2018, which i returned the vehicle to the ford dealer who stated they could not find anything wrong, because they could not duplicate the issue.

The vehicle was parked on an incline, with the front of the truck pointing up the slope.the transmission was shifted from drive to neutral, the parking brake was applied, and then the transmission was shifted from neutral to park.the vehicle was left unattended, and shortly after that, it rolled 10-15 feet backwards, with the transmission in park, and the parking brake fully applied.it was found stopped on level ground.upon realizing what happened, i repeated the parking process using the same shift sequence, d-n-p, with the same results.additionally, i tried parking the truck pointing down a slope.in this situation, the truck rolled forward, and had to be stopped using the brake pedal.i immediately took the truck to the dealer who i bought it from.they could not replicate the problem and took no action to investigate or repair the transmission.

Uncontrollable steering after driving over expansion joints on the highways or rough roads or streets. Once you drive over these areas, the steering wheel begins to violently shake to the left then the right. The truck is shaking violently and makes it difficult to control the vehicle. You must slow down to almost a stop to stop the violent shaking and regain control of your truck. This has happen two times in a row and i went straight to the ford dealer who replaced parts. On the second time this happen, i had to cut between the highway workers back blocking truck and the highway workers repairing the roadbecause i could not control the vehicle at the highway speed. It has happen again and the truck is back in at the ford dealer.

While driving at 60 to 70 miles per hour you get a slight shimmy in the back end.as you progress the shake gets worse. The ford shop where i live has a rush inrush out work ethic, they don't listen to the one paying the bills. I have tried several shops to find the problem, no results.

While driving on us hwy 395 northbound at buckeye rd in minden nv it felt like the brakes were fading while stopping for red light.while stopped the truck was lurching forward and i had to forcefully step on brake aggressively to keep it from entering intersection.i put it in park while waiting for the green light and as i put in drive it revved up as it past reverse and slowed in neutral and revved again as it hit drive.it continued to lurch and jerk when putting it into gear as i drove it home from carson city nv.thirty minutes into the drive home the check engine light came on which determined to be p054f (excessive fuel pressure). I called ford twice and they assured me that the diesel truck was 5/100000, on the powertrain as well as the engine and since the engine light came on i had it towed to capital ford in carson city nv(nearest dealer). The dealer called me advising that it was a failed torque converter at a owner pay of$4100.00.i googled the problem and error code to find numerous people with the same problem on the exact same truck combo.6.7l w/torqshift6 trans.ford issued a ssm # 45540 for the problem.one owner with the same truck over two months in the ford shop finally got ford to fix the problem even though he had 78k on the truck.according to a shop tech at beyer ford in morristown nj named keith browning stated on a thread (ford truck enthusiast) that ford has known about this problem with the 2016 f-super duty and f650-f750 since october of 2015. I have made four calls to ford since 08-20-20 to 08-24-20 with a case # cas 27293338 and have not received a call or email back.meanwhile the truck sits at the dealer who stated you will have to work it out with ford.i will not drive it home as it is not safe.the torque of the diesel engine could over power the brakes launching me into an intersection or vehicle ahead of me..

Vehicle bounces very dangerously causing vehicle to swerve into other lane. Pot holes shake vehicle into other lanes. Brakes do not hold well during shaking. Myself inside shake very heavily as well feeling like a bobble head. Steering becomes very difficult while shaking. It is so bad speaking is difficult during the shake. This happens at any speed above 55mph. This occurs most on highways but also on city streets.

I started my truck and started down my driveway. The steering wheel was very hard to turn so i attempted to stop and the power brakes were out as well and only had manual brakes so i had to pull the steering wheel hard to turn and press the brakes very hard to stop the truck. I stopped the truck, turned it off then back on and the steering wheel with a whine and the brakes worked but not fully. It felt like the abs was attempting to kick in when pressing the brake pedal. I took the truck to the dealership and they said the power steering pump went out and needs replaced. The truck has 29, 618 miles.

Ford death wobble, defect in front steering damping shock causes truck to severely start shaking when 1 wheel hits ripple in road. You cant stop the violent shaking of truck without almost stopping truck.it shakes entire truck. Happens on highways with ripples in pavement or uneven pavement at speeds around 60 mph or higher. Ford will not do anything about it. Dealership puts after market dual steering stabilizer kit on front end at price of $600.00

My truck has 56000 on it and you cannot hold it on the road. I have had the steering looked at and they cannot find whats wrong. This is a very common issue with ford superduty and there are several lawsuits filed with no recalls.

Truck has ~130k miles.at random times, typically during breaking the drivers front wheel will shimmy or vibrate causing the truck to shake violently.this has happened multiple times.this has occurred on city streets, state highway and interstate highways. Dealers are of no help.date selected for occurrence below is the last time this happened.first occurrence was ~6 months ago.

I've experienced 4 extreme cases of violent wobbling of the front end, utterly violent and uncontrollable. Tap the brakes it becomes worst. Cant hold the steering wheel, utterly random happened 4 times in the last two weeks. I am scared to drive the truck now and it's my only means of transport. I am terrified it's going to happen and i will crash or kill myself or someone else in a wreck when the truck is shaking out of control. It is truly terrifying. In motion typically on a freeway speed around 50 to 60 mph.

I have experienced numerous times the "death wobble" when i hit a bump in the road. The truck shakes violently and totally loses steering until i can slow down to about 10 mph and the shaking stops. It is very scary and has happened several times. Ithas to be over 55 mph when it happens. The slightest bump on the left front wheel will cause it. One time i was going about 75 mph and thought i wouldn't be able to get it back in my lane. It really scares me and my passengers when it happens .i am afraid to let my wife or kids drive it. Ford won't do anything other than tell me to take it in and get it repaired .i just can't understand how they refuse to take responsibility for all the problems they have had with these issues and will not issue a recall.

There is an uncontrollable shaking at 60 miles an hour or higher, after investigation it seems that there are hundreds of cases, the shaking has been called " the death wobble"dealerships don't seem to know whats going on and ford not giving any good solutions.this cant be seen with pictures there is hundreds of videos in youtube about this issue.

Since new a death wobble has occurred while traveling at speeds over 30 mph. This is a random issue that happens when hitting a bump in the road. Sometimes it goes away quickly other times i need to pull over and stop completely.

At 70mph, on the interstate, we went over some grooves in the pavement. The truck began shaking so violently that my husband couldn't steer. He rapidly decelerated, and we were able to pull over. We were convinced that we had had multiple tires blow out. There were no other vehicles on the road at that time of the morning, or i don't know what would have happened. I normally haul a gooseneck trailer with horses, so thankful this wasn't the case this time.

The entire vehicle shakes when driving over a certain speed limit (30+). After researching, this is known to the public as "death wobble".

Death wobble! the know problem ford has with their super duty truck but won't fix! i am a 56 year old woman and was driving on the expressway with my daughter when the death wobble happen. My steering wheels started shaking so hard i thought all 6 of my tires had blown. I had no control over my vehicle and than god there was no other cars near me. It is just getting worse now. I hit any little bumps on even the side road and the death wobble happens again. Called my ford deal and they say no know fix for it. I can bring it in and they can try to replace the staring tracking bar. But don't know if that will fix it. Ford needs to be held responsible and pay for the fix! i am afraid to drive my own vehicle!

I started my truck and started down my driveway. The steering wheel was very hard to turn so i attempted to stop and the power brakes were out as well and only had manual brakes so i had to pull the steering wheel hard to turn and press the brakes very hard to stop the truck. Hit a bump at 55 mph on highway and the front end began to violently wobble/shimmy.vehicle is uncontrollable until slowing to minimal speed. Vehicle was taken to the dealership at 38k miles and told there was nothing wrong, keep tire pressure monitored constantly.monitored pressure and vehicle began repeating this phenomenon at 58k.paid $3169.63 for repairs however, violent episodes continued.100k miles the truck repeats the violent behavior 3-4 times daily.dealership has indicated that ford is aware of the problem but does not have a fix.

The contact owns a 2016 ford f-350. While driving various speeds, the vehicle began to shake violently without warning. The failure recurred randomly. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer (mclean ford of fredericksburg, 1279 us-87, fredrickburg, tx 78624), but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was also taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the steering damper failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was approximately 14,000.

2016 ford f350 powerstroke (29,947 miles), while traveling down smooth interstate pulling 5th wheel camper when speedometer gets to 61mph the steering wheel begins to vibrate.when speed is 62-63mph the entire truck begins to violently bounce causing near loss of control.the "wobble" was so severe while reducing speeds the truck was bouncing all over the highway lanes, fortunately tractor trailer drivers were alert and immediately slowed down which allowed us to regain control of the combination.appears speeds less than 61mph the steering is better with less vibration.after dropping off the 5th wheel again we approached 60 mph with some vibration noted.when 62mph was reached again the steering violently began wobbling as it bounced the truck extremely hard on the pavement.it should be noted the highways used were in very good condition with no visible or noticeable defects.

While driving the f350 at 70 mph out of nowhere the vehicle started the death wobbleat the front end. Making it practically impossible to keep control of the vehicle!my family and i almost caused a major accident on the interstate!i had toslow down to 30 mph to get the vehicle under control!

The contact owns a 2016 ford f-350. While traveling 55 mph, the steering wheel began to vibrate. Initially, the contact thought there was a flat tire. After pulling the vehicle over to the shoulder of the highway, the contact observed the vehicle and did not see a flat tire. The contact proceeded to drive on the interstate at 50 mph and the vibration recurred for 40 seconds. There were no warning indicators illuminated. It was unknown if the dealer or manufacturer were contacted. The failure mileage was 27,000.

While driving the vehicle it shakes violently causing loss of control of vehicle. This is also known as a death wobble.

The truck has developed a wobble if the steering wheel when driving.it started out only after a tight turn to either right or left, but now the truck will experience the wobble when going straight.this will occur after encountering bumps, cracks or other road imperfections.it is very difficult to control the vehicle when it is experiencing this condition.the wobble is worse at speeds over 20 mph, but can still be detected at lesser speeds through the steering wheel.at speed higher than 20 mph, the truck is extremely difficult to control.as of now, the wobble is intermittent - but the condition is worsening.the wobble started as a pulling feel to the right or left - as if the truck wanted to pull one way or the other.it was difficult to comprehend what was going on at first, but now the steering wheel is starting to shake right to left (or vice vesra) at a much more pronounced movement.the oscillation of the steering wheel is becoming more pronounced as the situation grows worse.this has been worsening over the past 2 weeks.

I am experiencing a profound "death wobble" in the front end.when driving on the highway and going over uneven pavement, an uncontrollable death wobble occurs and the whole front end shakes violently (causing the tires to skip on the pavement surface-loosing traction) and this "rhythm"cannot be controlled until the speed is brought below 25 miles an hour.this is especially dangerous in a curve in the road.it would be easy to loose control and crash into something/someone!everything on my truck is factory stock.the tires are good and i have made no modifications to the suspension.the dealer acknowledges the problem and wants me to replace good parts at my expense which does not fix the problem.this seems like a definite design flaw.there are many aftermarket parts available that claim to fix the problem.i do not want to put them on because i don't want to give ford a reason to blame the problem on the aftermarket parts.this seems to be happening to many other people and looks like a serious safety issue!

Terrible shaking when cruising at certain speeds.i mainly notice the shaking around 45 mph, and again around 60 mph.i am able to control the shaking by either accelerating to around 70 mph, or braking to below 40 mph.the shaking is so bad sometimes that i feel like i will lose control of the vehicle if i don't speed up or slow down to make the shaking stop.it doesn't matter what type of street i am on as long as i am going fast or slow enough to cause the steering wheel and vehicle to shake uncontrollably.

While traveling highway speeds (60mph-80mph), steering and truck start shaking violently (death wobble) until slowing to ~20mph. Shaking is triggered instantaneously after driving over a depression-type bump while in a left hand curve. Problem is most likely castor alignment needing adjusting (see ford tsb 18-2268) or, less likely, steering linkage damper.

My ford f-350 has experienced the death wobble at speeds from 50-75 mph, it's random and doesn't show any warning signs, it is extremely scary and unnerving to experience. Hitting the brakes makes it violently uncontrollable.my truck has been to the dealership twice for this repair. It has been returned to me in worse shape then before i took it in.i have done tons of research and have found this is a very common problem with all f-250,f-350,f-450,and f-550 trucks and there should be a recall issued! this death wobble is going to get someone killed it, if it hasn't already. I own 3 ford super duty trucks so far 2 of them have experienced this uncontrollable situation and my 2019 f-550 is showing the same signs as my other 2 trucks before they actually death wobbled. Ford knows of this issue and so does the nhtsa. Please do research and an investigation so this can be taken care of for all super duty owners! or stay away from these trucks if you are a consumer.they have replaced my track bar, steering stabilizer shock and some sort of slugs which i have never heard of. So we will see when i get it back this time if it's any better.

Extremely violent shaking of steering wheel and truck. Also known as the death wobble.this happens at highway speeds and is in predictable when it will do it.

While driving at approximately 60 mph, the front end began to shake violentlyand the steering wheel was shaking upon driving over a few minor bumps in road.i immediately slowed and pulled to the shoulder. Upon slowing, the shaking subsided. No visible signs of anything wrong with tires or suspension.

I experienced death wobble while driving approximately 70mph after hitting a rough patch of straight road on the highway.extremely violently shaking!i ended up in the shoulder of the road.i could not control the truck until i got to a near complete stop.there was a total loss of control.miraculously avoided a wreck on the highway.

I posted highway speeds the vehicle shakes when hitting a bump and continues to shake until i slow down

Within 8,000 miles the vehicle could not go over 45 mph and hit a bump without the front tires and entire truck shaking so violently that the cars around me would scatter and i'd have to pull over to stop the violent shaking. I've had a 2005 f350 before and was already aware of the known problem, "death wobble". Dealership adjusted my camber so the outside tires wore out in a few months. After 16,000 miles the problem returned and they blamed the balding tires which they created with their camber adjustment and took no responsibility. After i got home i also realized that the service manager intentionally did not put my complaint on the work order. He knew i was aware that this was an ongoing issue with ford trucks and i knew the history and obviously tried to protect himself and the dealership. They fed me the same line that read from hundreds of other people online who complained about the same problem and told me the truck had to be aligned every 6 months. This is a known issue for 20 years and extremely dangerous.

While traveling freeway speed, hitting a bump on the road causes an uncontrollable shake in the front end and causes the truck to go towards the left, that only goes away after hitting the brakes and slowing down 10-15 mph.a representative from ford calls it the "death wobble."i had the truck into ford before the warranty expired and they replaced a steering stabilizer shock, but the problem never went away totally.ford confirmed the problem, and diagnosed it as track bar ball joint worn, excessive play, shimmy shock worn.the dealer is aware of the defect in their trucks, but refused to take responsibility for it and said it's just because the parts were worn out.they didn't say anything about any parts being worn when they replaced the steering shock, less than 10000 miles before.vehicle was unsafe to drive with the "death wobble."ken garff ford was willing to pay for the oem parts to be replaced, and now the death wobble is gone.however, ford has known about this problem for 15 years and refuses to take responsibility for the defect.

Before purchasing the truck it was never disclosed to me it was in accident or a tree or something fellon it the roof/ back window was leaking i told them (dealership),when it rains or when it snowed the water leaked inside the truck, i was backing up to put small trailer on it and it bumped the back window and it shattered, called safelite in ontario to fix window, found out the back window was full of bundle, they wouldn't fix it cause it had so much bundle in it, safelite stated that the truck was in wreck and it was repainted and whoever had it before i purchased it fixed it and sold it,i called a few other places and they won't fix it eithercause that same reason, i would have to take it to a body shop. I talk to the dealership where i got it from and they told me there was nothing they could do about it.when purchased the truck on the driver side in the door there wasn't a sticker there that is supposed to be there, it's no stickers in none of the doors it's been in the shop every other week and something has to be fixed.since truck was purchased it's been in the shop several times, it seems like since beginning of november 2019. I have spent more money into getting the truck fixed than driving it. I feel like i'm being treated unfair and taking advantage of for what they sold me this truck for and it has all these problems. I purchased this truck for work (own business) and can't get the job done and pay payments on time if i don't have a proper truck to get the work done.

While driving at 60 to 70 miles per hour you get a slight shimmy in the back end.as you progress the shake gets worse. The ford shop where i live has a rush inrush out work ethic, they don't listen to the one paying the bills. I have tried several shops to find the problem, no results.

Driving at freeway speeds i experienced the death wobble as the truck hit a freeway overpass bump and then began a violent shake. It was all i could do to hold the shaking steering wheel and bake to a near stop. Accelerating to freeway speeds it shook as if it wanted to wobble again but i reduced speeds down to 55. I have good michelin tires and no load. This same thing happened in the 2014 gas model i had and now i afraid to drive this one. January 2021

The death wobble on a 2016 ford f 350. I hit an expansion joint and i thought i had a blown tire . Got out of the truck and checked to see if i had a blown tire? nope proceeded down the road no problems! the the next day hit a pot hole and same thing happened. Had a shop replace track bar bushing and thought it was fixed, mind you not two days later it occurred again , now i bought this truck used with 23000ish miles and the ford dealer i bought it from did not tell tell me anything about a lift kit that was installed replacing the shocke steering dampener and added a dual steering stabilizer, after 800$ later nothing has changed.

Extremely violent shaking of steering wheel and truck. Also known as the death wobble.this happens at highway speeds and is in predictable when it will do it.

The front suspension exhibits what is commonly referred to as "death wobble". The vehicle has had the front shocks replaced, and it still occurred. The dealer indicated to replace the tires due to cupped tread caused by the worn-out shocks. This was done. The vehicle hasn't had the death wobble in the 100 miles since. However, the service writer at the dealership said that "you can tell it still wants to, but it hasn't yet". I get the same sensation when i drive the vehicle. Our highway speeds here are 65 mph, and our interstate speeds are 80 mph.prior to the tires being replaced, a driver experienced the death wobble in a situation that's worth reporting. The driver was traveling on a straight stretch of 65 mph two-lane highway when death wobble occurred. The steering wheel was not able to be held onto, and the vehicle crossed the center line into the oncoming lane of traffic. This could have resulted in a fatal head on collision. I believe ford is aware of the regular occurrence of death wobble in these trucks, but they are either incapable of fixing them, or they don't want to for financial reasons. This is unacceptable from a safety standpoint in my opinion.i cannot agree that cupped tires or worn out shocks are an acceptable trigger for death wobble that has the potential to lead to a head-on collision. It's my belief that more tolerance should be engineered into vehicles so that people who can't or simply don't maintain their vehicles will not be causing avoidable fatalities. This is the first vehicle that i'm aware of that worn-out shocks or cupped tire tread is capable of causing such issues, and it infuriates me that ford dismisses it.this death wobble has occurred repeatedly in the three years we've been utilizing the vehicle. Many drivers have experienced it.

When driving at highway speed and the truck encounters a bump on the right or left front suspension, sometimes a death wobble (severe tire/suspension bounce) occurs that only can be stopped by slowing severely. The bounce/wobble is so severe that you can not steer or do anything except hang on and jam on the breaks to get it to stop.

The entire vehicle shakes when driving over a certain speed limit (30+). After researching, this is known to the public as "death wobble".

Ford calls it a death wobble they say it's a common problem. Sad when dealership tells you that. Steering stabilizer several other parts will need to be bought to repair this problem. Wobble out of control on the highway can't understand how they can have such unsafe parts that could kill several people. Sad!

Currently filed a claim about "death wobble" nd i took the vehicle in and got it "fixed" at a dealership under warranty. I have 47k miles on my truck and even after getting it fixed, i hit a repaired pothole on the highway and got death wobble again at 70 mph. At that speed, there was about 30-45 seconds where you have literally no control over the vehicle. My only saving grace was the person behind me on this highway who put their hazards on and held traffic back as it was peak travel time.

While in motion at highway speeds, traveling in a straight line, the vehicle shakes violently to the point of almost losing control. The shaking begins when the vehicle drives over a seam, bump, or hole in the road when at highway speeds. It causes the steering wheel to whip back and forth at a high rate of speed almost like a motorcycle when the handle bars whip back and forth (tank slapper). It is not always in the same place on the highway and does not always occur at the same time or place and speed. It can catch a driver off guard and has to be fought to gain control of the vehicle due to the violent nature of the steering wheel. The phenomenon is known by the manufacturer as the "death wobble" and they have a tsb for the problem, but are failing to take responsibility for the issue and are passing the cost to repair on to the consumers. This is a safety issue and can cause loss of control of the vehicle if the shake is severe enough. I took my truck in and they replaced the steering stabilizer. This did not fix the problem. It occurred again on the highway while traveling at highway speed, again in a straight line. Braking does not stop the violent shaking. The shake only stops after the vehicle has slowed considerably. This is a widely documented issue on the internet and several people have video evidence of the issue. It is not related to only this year vehicle. Ford has a severe suspension issue which must be corrected by the manufacturer. Recall and repair.

Since new a death wobble has occurred while traveling at speeds over 30 mph. This is a random issue that happens when hitting a bump in the road. Sometimes it goes away quickly other times i need to pull over and stop completely.

Uncontrollable steering after driving over expansion joints on the highways or rough roads or streets. Once you drive over these areas, the steering wheel begins to violently shake to the left then the right. The truck is shaking violently and makes it difficult to control the vehicle. On the second time this happen, i had to cut between the highway workers back blocking truck and the highway workers repairing the roadbecause i could not control the vehicle at the highway speed. It has happen again and the truck is back in at the ford dealer.

I have the death wobble !!! i can just be driving down any road and come across the slightest change in surface and the front end just starts shaking to where i have to come to a stop to get it to stop. I had it repaired at a local shop and it did it on the way home.

Severe shaking and vibration after hitting a small bump in the road.this has happened multiple times now and usually at speeds greater than 50 mph.the violent shaking only subsides when speed is greatly reduced ie below 30mph.it only happens after a small bump in the road.

Death wobble happens when i hit a bump at high speeds nearly had two different wrecks losing control of the steering ability.

Accelerated into the highway. I was at 70 mph when i went to change lanes when the steering wheel started shaking uncontrollably, i couldn't brake and could hardly manage to keep my hands on the wheel to try and steer to the side of the road. Issue was diagnosed as 'death wobble' which was explained as a suspension issue. Called the dealership and was informed this is a known issue and has been for a long time.

I was driving the vehicle straight at about 60 mph on a highway when the vehicle start to shake roughly in an oscillating style, apparently known as the "death wobble". Maintaining control of the vehicle was extremely difficult and required a considerable amount of force to keep the vehicle straight and not crashing into other cars or highway walls. The only way to stop this was to slam on the brakes and bring the vehicle to a complete stop on a highway.

Driving at highway speeds hitting bumps or uneven pavement, uncontrollable, violent steering wheel shaking occurred . Ford dealership said a shock was loose and tightened. A few weeks later it happened again. Ford dealer does all my service work. They did not recommend any front end work, said it looked good.

When the vehicle speed is between 40-45 mph the vehicle has a noticeable vibration.i've had the vehicle checked and have the lifetime balance/rotation and alignment with firestone.i have also taken it to the ford dealer and they said there is nothing wrong with it. Continues to do this since i've owned it, bought used from carmax.

The reductant heater recall needs to extend to at least my 2016 truck. They have had excessive failures. My last truck was included in the recall (warranty extension-program 18m01). This recall was given in 2018 and they should have included more than just 2012 to 2015.

The backup camera works intermittently and/or is distorted.i had the vehicle in under warranty and the dealer's service department could never diagnose the problem.now i hear there is a recall on 2020 ford trucks.the news coverage of the reca, 2016.ll describes exactly what has been happening with my vehicle since is was new.i am writing in an attempt to get the recall expanded to my 2016 ford f350.the problem has been occurring since the vehicle was brand new.i took delivery on may

Failure of the def tank heater part number 5j225, part of the emission - exhaust system

2016 truck with less than 27k miles on it has a engine code p20ba reductant heater a control circuit.seems extremely short life for an important emission control element.

2016 ford f350 entire rear window exploded upon entering vehicle and shutting door (door was shut normally, not slammed).shattered glass landed in bed of truck with a few shards landing in the backseat of the extended cab.there was no reason why the rear window should have exploded.temperature / weather was a clear day approximatly 69 degrees.

Thank you [xxx] [xxx]parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

My truck is diesel and has the def installed.i have spoken with several diesel truck owners and with the exception of a couple of individuals everyone has had system def failures.i contacted ford inquiring why it hadn't been recalled as gmc and chevrolet apparently has.was informed that not enough vehicles required repair.

I am terrified it's going to happen and i will crash or kill myself or someone else in a wreck when the truck is shaking out of control. It is truly terrifying. In motion typically on a freeway speed around 50 to 60 mph.

Several events during acceleration after slowing (as for a light that turned green while approaching) the engine goes to full throttle (more power than normally available) and it requires full hard braking for an extended period of time, after an audible "pop" it responds.the hand book addresses this briefly, the dealer gives no answers and states the vehicle is safe. There is no interference from a floor mat ( this would only restrict the pedal going full anyway). I have credible witness to this event and other background is this engine was rebuilt by ford after seizing up at 7900 miles and had numerous other problems since including fuel system and at least 7 cab removals.

Heated rear window glass shattered. Small pieces of glass all over interior. Vehicle was stationary, not running, just sitting in driveway at the time it shattered. Glass was not impacted by anything.

The brake dust from the stock oem brakes bites into the rims of the stock wheels and cant get it polished out , even the dealer in labelle ford fl agrees but ford will not warrant these under my 12000 mile bumper to bumper . They declined because i dont wash it often enough (i wash it weekly , did i ever get a washing schedule from them?)two weeks ago i met a young man with a new f250 and had the exact same wheels and and guess what, he had the exact same problem.he stated that he washes his truck almost daily.

Since new a death wobble has occurred while traveling at speeds over 30 mph. This is a random issue that happens when hitting a bump in the road. Sometimes it goes away quickly other times i need to pull over and stop completely.
