The contact stated that while driving 45 mph, another vehicle crashed into the front of the contact's vehicle and the air bags failed to deploy.once the vehicle was stopped, the air bags then erroneously deployed. There was a powdery substance that was emitted from the air bags, which caused the contact to choke and become ill. The contact also sustained injuries to the chest, heart, neck and lower back. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was destroyed. The failure and current mileage was 24,000.

June 25, 2007, we were in montana and had just come down from approx. 14,000 ft. Pass, closed sun roof on our 2008 ford f350 crewcab diesel, all 4 occupants (3 adults & 1 child) fell asleep @ 2:00 pm in the afternoon. Passenger woke as we were going off the pavement, tried to put truck back on pavement but front of truck would not get under control, hit mail boxes and veered to left (still unable to control) not speeding, hit head on into trees, rolled to roof. Air bags did not deploy on either side, driver side (front and back) roof crushed to top and into front drivers seat and almost to frame of window in the back seat. Why or what caused us all to fall asleep after closing sun roof, why were we not able to control front of truck (too heavy?), why did air bags not deploy and why did roof crush so far on a roll to roof, we did not roll completely over. Truck was totaled. No deaths occurred, driver resulted in a broken neck and passengers with rib and neck injuries.

Had just back the vehicle in cut it off, half an hour later it was in flames, burnt everything in the motor and front of truck up. *dt *dt *dt

While driving my 2008 f-350 superduty diesel powered truck at 45 mph for approx 2 miles, received message " "stop safely now" and complete power down of engine. The truck decelerated so fast that had we not been passing a pull off lane we would have been stuck in the middle of the driving lane.the whole incident happened in less than 10 seconds. After getting over to side of road, engine would not crank over and was not allowed to restart until after the engine either cooled down or timed out (didn't try for about an hour later). By time tow truck arrived, we had gotten the engine to start but did not feel it safe to try and move the vehicle as we had no idea how far it would go or if it would happen again. Truck was in shop serviced for 60,000 and had latest ford recall for reprogramming completed less than 30 miles prior to incident.we were told there was a tech bulletin out on this problem but it was not covered under the engine warranty so we had to pay out of pocket. The fix is only half the issue; 10-15 second is not enough warning to safely pull off the road. If we had been pulling our travel trailer, we would not even been able to get as far as we did. This is the second time a tech bulletin issue has happened to us (prior issue was with a pressure valve on the radiator that caused theradiator to split) ford should inform us of potential problems so we can be aware of possible issues before they happen, not driving down the road.

The moon roof track on my ford f-350 (2008) failed after about 5 years. I had it replaced at jim click ford in tucson at the beginning of 2013 at a cost of $2400.00. At the beginning of 2015 it failed again. Neither the dealer nor ford have an answer for the failure(s) and both said i need to do the repair again at my expense.i feel that the moon roof apparatus should be sturdy enough to last the lifespan of the vehicle. My contention is that this issue is a defect and could be a safety issue is the moon roof is blown off or cannot be sealed. From the beginning with this truck when i would drive it forward in high winds the moon roof would lift and chatter. The frame is plastic and not very sturdy. I'm sure ford uses this same plastic frame on many of their vehicles and i think that researching repair records of those vehicles using this frame might be of use in seeing if failures are frequent and a possible safety issue.

The contact owns a 2008 ford f-350. The contact stated that the battery warning light illuminated and the contact discovered smoke coming from under the hood. The contact also mentioned that once the hood was opened, the alternator caught on fire. The contact extinguished the fire. The police report was not filed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the alternator was cycling more than designed because the battery was not functioning properly causing the fire. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 81,000.

The contact owns a 2008 ford f-350. The contact stated that the vehicle shook violently after going over a speed bump. The vehicle was taken to beach ford located at (2717 virginia beach blvd, virginia beach, va 23452) however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the contact the failure was known as the death wobble. An unknown repair was performed however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to beach ford to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the turbo charger needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

Ford f350 with 6.4l diesel had check engine light (cel) illuminate while driving. Engine immediately slowed to idle (800rpm) and would not respond to throttle inputs. Was not able to clear roadway and blocked traffic on busy urban road. Dealer was "not able to find anything wrong", yet "performed calibration update on pcm". I was informed "this needs to be done as vehicle ages and sensors wear."reviewed owners manual and did not located maintenance interval for "calibration updates to pcm." i am certain this is an inherent pcm software code error leading to complete loss of engine operation. A dangerous situation on congested roadways.

Failure of flexible joint in the exhaust up-pipe creates a fatal safety hazard for all occupants of the vehicle.exhaust gases leak from the failed joint and enter the cab of the truck through the heater vents.this can cause the occupants to be overcome by exhaust gases while driving, leading to a fatality.there have been several complaints identified in ford blogs with regards to this and nothing has been done to correct this.

Leased ford 350 truckon 10/23/08.noticed strange smell in the cab when idling or when heater or air conditioner was running.took the vehicle into sunrise ford dealership 8 times for this same issue and was not ever fixed until 9th time and they replaced manifold gasket . Soall the while inhaling carbon monoxide poison.needless to say only after 6 months of getting my ford 350 i got a heart attack and had to get an operation on my heart.then again july 4th 2011 had heart attack and had to get another operation on my heart;at first did not see the correlation until my spouse rode in the truck:eyes burned, migraine headache, and passed out when returned home and tasted exhaust the next day.that was the point that we alerted ford and the dealership to fix the problem and finally on june 12th 2012 the sunrise dealership finally fixed the truck.the damage to my heart is irreversible and i am on constant medication .i need to be recompensed for this gross negligence from ford and it affiliates becausei am sole provider of 8 children an a veteran who served this country.

Have taken it to ford dealer and they can't figure it out. Would like to know what to do since i have spent a lot of money and the problem hasn't been fixed and the only thing the ford dealer tells me is to trade it in for a new one. Help1

Truck was taken to ford dealer and diagnosed with low pressure fuel pump and high pressure fuel pump out.prior to this white smoke rolled out of exhaust while driving on highway and engine shut off.truck waa towed to dealer with above findings.ford diesel mechanic stated several issues with high and low pressure fuel pumps on these models.please look into this.estimated cost is 13,000 dollars to fix.

Excessive white smoke out of exhaust, especially with acceleration. Smoke has a foul odor also. Can hear a knocking sound in engine on deceleration (similar to bad wheel bearing hums), only does it if turbo is over 150-200 psi, but will do it every single time. 'drive to clean exhaust' displayed on dash. Completed recommended drive cycle (over 30mph for at least 20 minutes, i drove for 45 mins) and message still appears."wrench" symbol displayed on dash. Per owner's guide the rtt displays when engine has defaulted to "limp-home" operation or when transmission problem has been detected.. The light comes on every time vehicle is driving now, and stays on entire time.

Customer satisfaction program 08b06 was issued by ford in december 2008.this notice expired in june 30, 2009.i recently purchased the vehicle within the last year.the same issue has developed that was identified in the above bulletin.the previous owner did not get the service performed and now ford will not honor the bulletin.this issue should be a recall issue or the ford customer satisfaction bulletin should be reopened or recreated.this is with regards to engine coolant leak and a known deficiency within the cooling system.

Ford should be held accountable for the 6.4 diesel as much as these trucks cost hard working americans, pay close to 30 thousand dollars for a pickup truck then have to payanother 15 thousand to fix the motor due to it not being built correctly, junk rods, head bolts, heads, turbos, oil level being raised by 2 to 3 gallons per oil change, due to fuel being pumped back into the engine, causing severe internal engine problems,it's not if it will blow but when it will, as per ford master mechanic.this is a dangerous situation,to know at any giving minute while driving you're motor could blow causing loss of control of the vehicle.

We were hauling a load of logs about an hour away everything was fine when all of the sudden the truck down shifted and white smoke started pouring out from under the passenger side of the hood followed by flames.we had to try to get off the road where we were there was no where to pull off and finally could swing into a state gamesland and someone called the fire dept.i am now out of a truck i just purchased 2 months ago and my vin number isn't even showing up

Upon returning from a short drive i noticed oil on the ground...had truck towed to local ford dealer ...when inspected i was informed the self cleaning exhaust system caused the rings to wear prematurely and build pressure in the crankcase causing oil to spew out any opening ie the dipstick tube. A diesel engine should have been expected to last 2-3 times the 165,000 miles on the truck.

Was driving to work on a major highway when all of a sudden the truck stalled and quite running.after having the vehicle towed into a ford dealership they determined that 2 fuel injectors along with the fuel pressure regulator were bad.after further research they determined it was caused by corrison in the fuel tank.they said ford would not stand behind the problem as they blamed it on the diesel fuel.we buy the same diesel fuel that other trucks use and they do not seem to have this problem.it is bought at reputable gas stations.fortunately we were able to get the truck off the road this time and not cause any accidents.this should be a recall issue backed by ford motor company instead of a money maker for them.after researching the internet this is a very common problem and needs to be addressed and make ford responsible for the problem before someone gets hurt.

Upon inspection of this vehicle, our mechanic found the automatic dipstick tube rusted in half on the right side of the engine. At the bracket that bolts to the exhaust manifold. We believe this to be a potential fire /safety hazard if some one was to fill or check the transmission while the engine is hot.we also found the right side shock tower severely degraded because of rust. The top of the tower haslarge pieces of rust scale on top of the tower that we feel could possibly allow the coil spring pressure to fracture the steel and cause a loss of steering. I have not seen this much corrosion on a truck this new.we have taken pictures and can be e-mailed if needed. This vehicle has been removed from service until it can be repaired. This is a city of allentown ,pa fleet vehicle.

Vehicle was sitting at idle when blew upper radiator hose. I replaced hose due to fords excessive charge to replace one hose, was not notified that due to the loss of fluid. Radiators hot cold cycles were effected, so radiator was effected and created a crack in radiator due to constantly cycling due to the loss of fluid created from defective hose. Now ford will not cover the radiator due to service managers lack of informing client to keep hose for ford corporate to review. Other problems that arose blown motor.

After parking my ford f-350 crew cab 4x4 with a v-10 engine, i exited the vehicle and circled around to the passenger side where i noticed from the corner of my eye flames in the r front wheel well. Behind the tire. I immediately went inside the building and summoned help and a fire extinguisher (abc) . Myself and security personnel did not open the hood. We directed the fire ext. Into the wheel well and there was a sort of backlash and with seconds a paint bubbling hot spot appeared on the hood. We immediately contacted the fire department who responded. Within minutes the engine compartment was completely engulfed in flames and there was flaming under the engine as well.we cleared the area of onlookers as fireman fought the blaze. There were no injuries to myself, the security guard who responded, firemen or onlookers.

My f350 crew cab has fumes that enter the cab of the truck when the exhaust system is cleaning. This has been happening for as long as i have owned this truck, you can't leave the windows up and breath because it is a health hazard. Sunbelt ford in cordele georgia is aware of this problem as they have looked at the truck. I was advised that my truck is the only one that does this. Iknow there is a problem as i have been a satisfied ford truck owner for years as well as using ford trucks in my construction business and have never encountered this type of problem before.please advise me in writing as i feel that ford motor company has a problem.

2008 f350 ford truck, bad high pressure fuel pump.ford refusing to support their warranty. Running rough, with no high end power.stalled while trying to pull out into busy traffic.slowed to 20mph in middle of highway traffic.ford dealer analyzed trouble to high pressure fuel pump which should be covered by ford 100,000 miles/5yr warranty. Ford will not support their warranty due to rust found in fuel tank. Rust in the system would be a failure of fords filtering system / design which should be covered by warranty.cost of repair is $8500.

3 times in the last 6 months my ford f350 has shut down while i am driving, it locks me out so i can't even turn the engine over and i have to try to coast to a safe place out of traffic. All 3 times the fuel gauge reads over 50 miles to empty, the last time it read 140 miles to empty. The fuel lines are sucking in air, i get high and low pressure codes, i add more fuel(deisel) and then have to bleed all of the lines of air and prime the pumps.i have to do this on the side of the road or in a parking lot if i am fortunate enough to make it that far. I pulled the tank and pulled the fuel sending unit out, upon cleaning out the tank found a plunger rolling around. This plunger goes in the fuel sending unit, closing a valve that sucks fuel if the main suction gets clogged.it is about 2 inches higher than the main suction. Because the plunger has fallen out, this is where it is sucking fuel from, which causes it to suck air when there is in fact still fuel in the tank.i called ford service and was told they replace these units all of the time, it is a manufacturers defect but not covered if your vehicle is out of the 36k warranty, when this most commonly happens.the last time this happened a friend pulled my truck into a parking lot, while he was pulling me in, there was another ford truck being pulled in after running out of fuel while the gauge still read 50 miles to empty. This is very dangerous when it happens on the interstate, you have no power steering at this point and can not easily handle the vehicle due to the weight of this vehicle.my wife would never be able to handle the vehicle if this happens.i won't let her drive the truck due to this.

Representative from customer relations said was contaminated fuel damage.the 6.4 l diesel fuel system is equipped with a two filter and fuel/water separator system for the purpose of filtering contaminates, including water, which obviously failed and consequently caused damage to the high pressure fuelpump.all services had been performed at the ford dealership to include the fuel filters.ford seems to be placing the blame on contaminated fuel as the cause for the high pressure fuel pump failure when there is a high probability that it is a defect in the filtering system.

Purchased a new 2008 ford f-350 and found out from a friend that there are two recalls on my truck that i was never notified about

I recently purchased a 2008 ford f350 diesel crew cab pickup from hayford ford in isanti mn. I have driven the vehicle a total of 1500 miles since i purchased it. The vehicle has been in the shop more than 20 days since i purchased it. They now say i will have a bill of $8000 dollars to repair the contaminated diesel fuel system. I understand that there has been a fuel tank delamination issue on these vehicles that causes this problem. That can lead to a stalling of the engine if not detected prior to total failure. Ford will not even honor the warranty i purchased from them. I noticed the increase in engine oil volume prior to any failure which led ford to diagnose a fuel pump failure prior to engine failure. I understand there have been failures while the vehicles are in motion, which would cause the possibility of serious accidents.

Getting on freeway and trying to reach and maintain posted speed limit. Vehicle started sputtering then check engine light came on. I could not safely maintain my speed so i had to put flasher on and pull off the road. I quickly found out that the vehicle went into to limp home mode so with my flashers on i proceeded to head home which was 40 miles away. I indeed limped my vehicle home as i could not maintain any posted speed limit and created what i thought was an unsafe condition for other drivers as they were trying to pass and get around me. After making it home i found out that there is a known manufacture defect with a publication date of april 27, 2011 tsb 11-4-22 6.4l lacks power-dtc p0088. I pulled my engine codes and i indeed had the p0088 code which is fuel rail pressure too high. I called my local ford dealership to find out if there was a recall for the known manufacture defect. The gentleman put my vin# in and told me there was no recall for that known defect from ford. I've done my research and there are many people out there with this same problem. Ford has admitted to the known manufacture defect by creating the tsb with the publication date of april 27, 2011

The high pressure fuel pump failed, causing the truck to lose power while merging onto the interstate. Our vehicle did not die completely, as i've heard most do.if we had been hauling our rv, it could have been catastophic in that situation. Ford has had these pumps recalled on other vehicles (a van?), but because the repair is costly, i believe that ford may not want to recall these vehicles.the worst part of it is that anyone that owns an f350 buys it to haul something. In our case, a 13000 pound rv.if we lost power steering and brakes in the mountains of colorado and wyoming, it would not be good. Every mechanic we talked to about this seems to feel this is a common problem on the f350 6.4l powerstroke

The contact owns a 2008 ford f-350. The contact stated that the rear middle seat belt was broken. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer but not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure.the failure mileage was 55,000. Updated 01-29-14 the consumer believed the seat belt was defective, long before the he purchased the vehicle. I purchased my 2008, ford f350 in august 2007 and have not received any of the 5 recalls from ford. I'm very concerned about the safety of my family that travel with me.i want to file a complaint against ford for not notifying me about the recalls, and also want to know why they have not contacted me about any of the recalls.i would appreciate a response from you on what will be done about my complaint.thanks, updated 07/21/09

I was in my driveway and stepped on the brake pedal to put the truck in reverse and i heard a loud 'pop' which felt like the brake pedal broke and then it sank to the floor,i popped the hood and saw brake fluid dripping from the bottom of the brake master cylinder.this part---"switch assy - ford part-sw6349 (9f924)" had blown out the plastic connector while the metal casing was still attached to the bottom of the master cylinder.this will leave you with no brakes.if it happened on the road in traffic it could be deadly.

I was driving on interstate 75 when the truck and steering wheel started vibrating violently, as i applied the brakes to slow the vehicle it pulled sharp to the left taking the vehicle onto the median.once the vehicle stopped, facing in the opposite direction i got out and checked the left front wheel, it was too hot to touch.i let it cool and then proceeded to the nearest exit.i had the left front wheel inspected, but no problem was discovered.i continued on my trip from tennessee to florida.on the return trip the problem happened three times, each time i stopped and let the wheel coolbefore continuing.i researched this problem on the internet and found that several other individuals have experienced the same problem. I believe the ntsb should require ford motor companyto recall these vehicles and correct the problem before someone is injured or killed.there is sufficient documentation on the internet to justify the ntsb taking action.

I was driving at 20 mph when the power steering did not work, i went to brake and it didn't brake for at least 20 ft. Good thing no one was in front of me. I took it home and now is not drivable , i called ford several times and they said they can not do anything for me.i have a $48,000.00 lemon rotting in my driveway.

Cruse control switch on the brake master cylinder disintegrated, causing immediate loss of brake fluid and braking. Switch body appeared rusty, while the switch next to it on the master cylinder did not. Vehicle in motion, descending driveway when brake pedal went to the floor and all braking action was lost. Vehicle stopped via emergency brake.

The contact owns a 2008 ford f-350. While driving approximately 60 mph, the steering and braking ability seized without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed by the dealer or an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 129,000.

I was slowing down to make a left hand turn and i completely lost the ability to steer. I could not budge the wheel at all. My brakes still worked, but it didn't feel 100%. It has happened at least 10-15 times in the last year. When it happens, i can shift the truck into neutral and rev the engine and i'll get my steering back. Also, if i shift into neutral and turn the truck off and back on again, the steering will work. The only time it happens is when i'm slowing down from highway speeds, 55+ mph. It has happened when towing also. This is my father truck, but i use it for the family business.

The contact owns a 2008 ford f-350. While driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle veered to the right causing the contact to almost crash into a guard rail. The contact discovered smoke entering from a passenger side wheel. The contact stated that the passenger brake disc was red from the heat and emitted smoke. The contact also stated that the same failure occurred six times on different wheels. The contact had to wait for the wheels to cool down in order for the vehicle to return to normal. The vehicle was driven to the dealer six times and they were not able to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact mentioned that the brake system was repaired four times. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000.

Driver, attempting to stop for a light rail crossing, depressed brake and accelerator simultaneously, moving forward into the path of oncoming trolley.vehicle a total loss. Driver believes brake and accelerator pedals are too close together and aligned when depressed.

Brake pedal location and depressing vehicle's brake pedal and gas pedal at the same time. Street department workers wearing proper work boots have found that the pedal spacing is not adequate between gas pedal and brake pedal. There have been at least 10 times where the employee has depressed the brake pedal and the vehicle would not stop. It has been determined that the brake pedal and gas pedal placement are to close to each other and both pedals can be depressed at the same time giving the operator the feeling of no brake pedal and the vehicle not stopping. We have reproduced this situation at least 5 times and feel that it is imperative that you be notified of this design defect. We contacted reutehr ford, mike bowen a service advisor and they state that they are aware of this situation but ford has not addressed it at this point. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Monday, january 3, 2011, we were driving on a rural road in route to sharps chapel, tennessee when the right side front passenger caliper/rotor assembly failed causing smoking and burning smell of the brake shoes forcing me to pull to the side of the road.after allowing the brakes to cool, i contacted and drove to morristown ford in tennessee and they to attempted to repair the brakes by disassembling and cleaning the caliper/rotor since they did not have the parts available to appropriately rectify the situation.this repair was not effective and the problem has repeated itself four times since then, most recently on october 5, 2012.this appears to be a very dangerous vehicle design and/or part failure!!ford needs to rectify this problem!!

During u-turn, a curb was traversed by right front tire. After steering came back straight, steering wheel was off center 25 degreeswith truck pulling left.an alignment was done to correct that lasted a month. Steering wheel drifted back to 25 degrees off center and truck pulled to left. A second alignment was completed by a different dealer correcting problem for the most part. Vehicle still pulls left and or right on certain roads, with play in steering wheel that cannot be adjusted out.conclusion is steering box is pretty "light duty" for a super duty rated truck. Truck was on second steering gear box with first developing a drifting issue several months after purchase - dealer determined correction could only be made by box replacement. Current miles are 37,600.fuel prices inhibiting miles.

Vehicle shakes violently. Only way to get under control is to stop completely.this has happened numerous times.i have read on forums this is a major problem. Ford needs to recognize the problem and issue a recall. This is very dangerous.

I have a 2008 ford f-350 4x4 that is experiencing a bad wobble when i hit a bump in the road or turning in a curve with uneven pavement. The problem occurs around 45 or 50 mph this is a very scary situation. I did some research on the topic and i see alot of ford owners with the same complaint, but ford wont do anything about solving the problem. I don't know who to turn to. These trucks are expensive and i expect to get what i paid for not this. Help me out!!!!! please!

Driving thru town 25mph or less turning one corner fine then another corner the opposite direction and only steering wheel turned.my truck went straight into the rock walldamaged hood fender, bumper, headlight bezel and lights driver wheel, and when diagnosed the original problem it was the steering gearbox failure

Driving on a corner onramp the truck's power steering gave out and the vehicle became almost impossible to steer.i applied the brakes and the steering returned.this has happened numerous times while driving.no issues were found with the power steering pump.recently had the power steering system flushed and that seemed to improve the problem; however, it's starting to return.will be taking it back in again to see if the issue can be fixed.

Just got on the on ramp to get on the freeway when lost total control of the trucks powersteering. I was going maybe 35-45mph but had to slow down. Took to the ford dealer the replaced the gearbox with a remanufactured gearbox and did the same thing on my second trip. Not sure what to do as this is a big safety concern

Steering became very stiff, the front wheels then moved from left to right on their own. I pulled over, turned the steering wheel lock to lock and drove away.the problem has recurred daily since.

My wife drove the truck to work. She said it was acting weird. It had slack going to the right. It was hard to turn to the left. When she got home it was worse. I opened the hood to check it for fluid.the fluid was good. I got inside to check out the steering. It had a lot of slack both directions. After a few turns the horn went off and i had to disconnect the battery in order to get it to go off. I then tried to turn the steering again. I could hear some grinding from the gear box. I disconnected the horn and reconnected the battery. I started the truck and attempted to turn the steering wheel again. This time fluid started to spray all over. I couldn't locate the source. I believe that there is a problem in the gear box. I don't know why the horn went off. It is not able to be driven. It is in my driveway parked. All i know is that if it had gone out when my wife was on the highway only god knows what would have happened. She takes our three children to day care. This is the only vehicle that is big enough to carry the entire family. The truck has only 91000 miles. I looked it up and there has been other complaints with this year and model. We don't know how much this is going to cost. My view is that it is a defect in the truck that was known and we were not notified of any posslble problems. It is saturday night and we cant call ford garage till monday. We will call and ask them what we can do.

The truck shakes a lot when going over bumps on the road , around 60 mph .

On interstate passing in left lane hit a rough patch trucks starts shaking so bad i thought it was going to flip. Could not get to shoulder so had to go in the mediam it was not a flat spot it was a hill so i went straight and not at an angle if i had i would of flipped. This is not the first time. Ifrist time i had approx$3000.00 of front in work done trying to fix the problem, but it did not.

I was driving at 20 mph when the power steering did not work, i went to brake and it didn't brake for at least 20 ft. Good thing no one was in front of me. Steering acts erratically, pulls truck left or right vehicle undrivable. Was told by dealer after a power steering flush, there is a failure in the steering box.

I have been having issues with this vehicle in the steering.it will pull to the left or right at any given time going down the road.we are a full service shop and own this vehicle.we have checked everything and contacted ford.they recommended changing the steering shaft that goes to the steering gear box. We did, but it still does it.not sure what to do next. We are in the process of changing the steering gear as we have no other options.

The power steering pump started making a noise.the reservoir was empty.i filled it up about 100 miles later.steering wheel started having a lot of play in it before turning the wheels.on the way to the dealer to have it checked out, lost all power steering.i had to call a rollback to carry it to dealer.this is a 2008 f350 with approximately 38,000 miles on it.dealer informed me it will cost me $1500 to replace the gear box plus $75 towing.i feel like this is a factory defect and ford motor co. Should pay for all repairs.i need advice and help to resolve this complaint.

Death wobble occurs at highway speeds if bumps occur consecutively close together, the only way to stop wobble if you abruptly stop,it's worse if your on a transition ramp to on coming traffic.

Death wobble and learned about class action after i had front end repaired with complete overhaul ball joints etc in january 2018 ($2100 plus dollars) by my mechanic. May 16, 2021 experienced 3 incidents of death wobble in oklahoma city enroute totulsa, oklahoma. See my mechanic on june 1, 2021.

After hitting a bump in the road, the truck will shake violently and attempt to get out of control.the only way to correct this is bring the vehicle speed down to under 20 mph.this problem began occurring sporadically about one year ago and has gotten consistently worse.it is so sever that i have decided to park the vehicle out of a concern for safety.i had the vehicle inspected at the local ford dealership approximately 3-4 months ago and they said everything was fine.today, i received in the mail a notice marked "special field action 09l02" that says the problem is due to tire inflation.i have the proper size tires and i keep them properly inflated.after researching this, i have noticed that this problem dates back to 2005 and ford has sent this same notice out many times.it is not a tire problem.i believe it is a known suspension problem and it is dangerous.this needs to be a mandatory recall and it needs to be paid for by ford.i called their service line today and was told my vehicle wasn't part of any notice or recall.the paper i got today says "this notice applies to your vehicle" and goes on to give my vin #.it is a big problem and now it has a big cover-up to go with it.

Pulled onto highway,(us-36) accelerated to 45 mph.truck started wandering, unable to steer straight.returned home and parked truck.took to dealer a week later. Unable to find problem. A couple of months later truck did same thing.returned to dealer, they flushed power steering pump.worked ok for 2-3 months.then same thing happened 3rd time.returned truck to dealer, they changed power steering pump.has been ok for 6 months. Now unable to drive over 40 mphafraid of losing control of truck. In private shop for repairs now.aftermarket steering boxback ordered.unknown when available.

I have a 2008 ford f-350 that i experienced a violent, shuddering, vibration at approximately 75 m.p.h. On interstate-75 yesterday, 09/19/2020, that almost caused me to crash.i looked online and there are many, many people who have and are experiencing the same, dangerous problem.i firmly believe that there should be a recall of the affected f-250 and f-350 vehicles and ford should repairs these vehicles before anyone is injured or killed, if there hasn't been such a trajedy or tragedies already.

Two issues really: a sloppily installed valve cover gasket on the right valve cover causing fluid leakage.the second is a constant drift to the left.2008 f-350 lariat 4x4 crewcab long bed powerstroke diesel.

The contact owns a 2008 ford f350. The contact stated that the vehicle would vibrate violently when driving between 40-55 mph or when turning on rough road surfaces. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but the vehicle was not further repaired. The failure mileage was 100 and the current mileage was 20,000.

I was making a left hand turn when the steering started to wobble, shimming. I was traveling at approx. 45 mph and had to slow to 20 before it stopped.this pick up has had small shimming before but nothing this bad.i just replaced the shocks and had it aligned.it seems to be even worse and yes i have the tire pressure at the recommended 80 psi.it is dangereous. Ford sent a letterapril2009 09l02.they pretty much said the nhtsa was looking into it and live with it.please help!

I have two 2008 ford f-350 superduty 4x4 trucks.one truck has 39000 miles and the other 61000 miles.at highway speeds, after hitting uneven road surface or bumps, they begin to shimmy and shake so bad that i have to pull over to get it to quit i have had the trucks in numerous times to fix but the problem always returns.i received notice from ford that low tire pressure causes this but i maintain correct tire pressure in both of my trucks so i know this is not the problem.i have been researching this online and there is a company called wcmotorsports that claims to know why these trucks are doing this and the solution.their website is www.superdutywobble.com.their phone number is (508) 668-8638.they seem very knowledgeable about this issue.the problem is the replacement part to fix this is $825.i feel that this should be a recall issue.after looking online, many people have this problem.i have not modified these trucks in anyway and i feel that it is only a matter of time until this causes a fatality if it hasn't already.

Bed rails are rotting prematurely causing safety concern when truck is towing or there is weight in the bed of the truck i feel thatthis may cause a safety issue for passengers in the truck as well as other motorist on the roadway. Fifth wheel hitch connection shift because of rotted rail causing jam in hitch creating travel hazard

Had just back the vehicle in cut it off, half an hour later it was in flames, burnt everything in the motor and front of truck up. *dt *dt *dt

While driving over 40 mph if a bump or pothole is hit the truck bounces or shakes violently at the front. The truck had previously done it one other time. This time the truckwas traveing about 55 mph on a 2 lane highway when i hit a dip in the road andthe truck started violently bouncing and went across the opposite direction side of the highway.luckily no other car was coming but damage was done to the front of the truck when it went to the opposite side of the roadway. I have since parked the vehicle until it can be found what caused the problem. I will have to contact the insurance co about the front end repair but not until it is safe to drive.

Death wobble-erratic driving when this happened it was in motion on a highway.

Vehicle shakes violently. Only way to get under control is to stop completely.this has happened numerous times.i have read on forums this is a major problem. Ford needs to recognize the problem and issue a recall. This is very dangerous.

Help me out!!!!! please!

The contact owns a 2008 ford f-350. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph, the power steering failed causing the vehicle to veer erratically. The vehicle was taken to the dealer multiple times. The technician was unable to determine the failure in any of the occasions.the technician advised that the low tire pressure sensor, tires and the steering stabilizer failed, all which may have been seemingly related to the failure. The vehicle was repaired but the failure was not corrected. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 95,000 and the current mileage was 102,000.

The truck shakes a lot when going over bumps on the road , around 60 mph .

2008 ford 350 sdaccelerated 2 different times at very high speed. Could not stop it either time. Had too put it into park to stop and smoke filled the cab and was rolling out. Mechanic in . Said it was the third one too come in and the second had been in accident. Said they don't make the software too fix this problem. Approximately 5,000 miles. Ford motor credit took truck after paying $38,000 on it and are going too auction it off in spokane wash.i am really concerned for thebuyer.

I bought my 2008 f350 truck from carbon ford on april 25, 2010.at the time, the truck had after market window tint on it.rather than remove the tint, they directed me to another inspection station so that the truck would pass by rolling down the windows (it failed once).1 year later, i have the same issue again.this time however, i have learned that the truck they sold me was actually involved in a rollover (not properly disclosed).when i bought the vehicle, i knew that it had been in an accident.i told them i needed to know what happened before purchasing it.they said it just hit a snow bank and no big deal.they actually called someone to confirm this.they are not willing to fix the vehicle and are offering me only a very small dollar amount.meanwhile, the windows are still tinted and it will not pass inspection.[xxx] (i believe a manager there), instructed me to go to a garage that carbone worked closely with in the past.he told me to tell them that carbone sent me and that they would pass the vehicle even with the very dark tinted windows that came on the truck.they are selling vehicles that do not pass inspection, and then finding ways around it so that they don't have to fix them.i was told that if i try to get the inspection, i will get a red rejection sticker and will not be able to drive the truck anymore.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Driving down the road at 65 mph, on open highway going straight, and on cruise control, my sun roof exploded.if i had not had the sun shade pulled closed, we would have been showered in glass!i had a truck camper on the truck at the time, however, i've driven tens of thousands of miles with this camper, so it shouldn't be that - and the glass ought to be strong enough for this usage anyway.this should not have happened, and the type of glass that is used should not allow glass to shatter into flying pieces like that!this is costing me a bundle of money to repair, but more importantly, had the sun shade not been closed, i could have had an accident with 6+ tons of truck and camper.
