When the 6.7 diesel engine goes in to regeneration for the emission system the engine sometimes shudders and shakes violently.the valves rattle and there is a sudden loss of power and truck slows.seems to be mostly when the truck is in a slight pull up a grade. But, it has done it on flat ground.this condition is very dangerous and wide spread throughout the ford 6.7 diesel engines.the dealer stated it was common with these 6.7 diesel engines and a fix was coming but it has been over 2 years and no fix in site.my truck is a 2016 with only 10,000 miles.ford knows there is a problem and won't fix it.the truck is at woody anderson ford in huntsville, alabama in their truck shop.their truck shop service manager told me of the problem when i reported what the truck was doing.ford actually has a tsb for for customers who have reported this issue, but they have no desire to correct the programming.it is bad and something needs to be done before someone get hurt.

When 2016 f-350 sd pulling 18000 lb camper on interstate highway running 65-70 mph goes into exhaust cleaning mode, the vehicle speed drops to approx 45mph in short distance. Vehicle is acting like limp mode. No codes are present. When exhaust cleaning mode clears, vehicle resumes normal speed. This has happened twice in the last month. Ford tells me this is normal.feel this is a major safety hazard when speed suddenly drops ~30 mph with chance of rear end collision.this problem has only happened when pulling 18000 lb camper. Have not seen problem with no load.

The contact owns a 2016 ford f-350 sd. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to basil ford (1540 walden ave, buffalo, ny 14225, (716) 893-1000) where it was diagnosed that the incorrect fuel was placed in the vehicle. The vehicle was then towed to washington ford (507 washington rd, washington, pa 15301, (724) 223-5100) who speculated that there was no octane in the fuel or there may have been water or rust in the fuel system. The dealer later stated that, with fuel samples, they found metal shavings in the fuel system and the high pressure fuel pump may need to be replaced. The vehicle was serviced by the second dealer, but they could not provide a permanent remedy to repair the vehicle. The contact was awaiting a response from the manufacturer to determine if the part was available to provide to the dealer to repair the vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was 45,222.*dtupdated 10/19/18

The contact owns a 2016 ford f-350 sd. The contact stated that the check engine warning indicator kept flashing. Bill utter ford (4901 s interstate 35 e, denton, tx 76210, (940) 321-7400) diagnosed that the reductant heater and sender assembly needed to be replaced. The dealer replaced the part and stated that the vehicle was excluded from ford's customer satisfaction program (18m01). The manufacturer was notified. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 53,000.

Vehicle has 10k miles on it. Was driving down the road, vehicle shut up, and would not start back up. Took to dealer, stated it was a fuel pump problem, that the fuel pump in the truck blew up and sent metal shreds through the fuel rail system and into the engine. Ford denied the warranty stating the fuel was contaminated with to much water. Upon having my fuel tested, it was determined it was not contaminated and they paid 9000 of repair cost, and i paid 1000. I have two vehicles (the other which i will also make a complaint as well) and both vehicles have unsafetly shut off and lost power. After doing research, the fuel pump in the trucks in not rated for the lubricity the diesel fuel in america offers. I have spoken to several mechanics who said the pump will blow up if you do not use a fuel additive. Fuel specifically states to use united states ultra low diesel fuel in their system, and does not require their consumers to use fuel additives. The pump is not rated, and ford is putting these pumps in their trucks knowing their not rated for ulsd in the untied stated.

I was driving down highway 101 and hit a bump going approximately 65 mph.there were 4 adult males in the truck.after i hit a bump in the road, my steering wheel started shaking "violently."everyone in the truck was scared.i took my foot off the gas and started slowing down.when the truck got to about 35 mph, the violent shaking stopped.on my return back home on the same trip, again the same exact situation happened when i drove over a lane divider.my steering wheel is nowout of alignment from when i bought the truck about 1 1/2 years ago.i took my truck to harper motors in eureka, ca (robert barrera service manager 707-443-7311)to be checked out on june 28, 2017. The r/o numberwas 785884/1. Their result was the following and documented "customer states around 60-65 mph slight right turn over lane dividers front end shook heavily has happened twice.check and advise.work performed by tom curtis.test drove unit to trinidad and back unable to verify concern.inspect front suspension all components look good.no concerns found made customer aware." nothing was done to my truck to address this issue nor was my steering wheel placed back into alignment.i have done my research and know this is called the "death wobble."it should be noted that less than 1 week prior to this happening, i took my truck into harper motors for a full inspection and oil change.at that time, my tire pressure was also checked.

Popularly referred to as "death wobble".at speeds above 50 mph, the truck instantly goes from full control to an uncontrolled state of severe oscillation that can only be stopped by stopping or slowing the vehicle to 10 mph or less.there is no prior warning that this is about to occur and it does not occur all the time - extremely random - usually occurs when the truck hits a rough patch of road or a bridge/pavement expansion joint.the condition is manifested by violent shaking of the front end accompanied by the steering wheel being jerked out of the driver's hands, resulting in complete loss of steering control.this causes an extremely hazardous condition for other vehicles as well as the problem truck.ford has issued a tsb for this problem 18-2258, consisting of a replacement steering dampener and various alignment components.this 'kit', installed by a ford dealer into my vehicle, had absolutely no effect on the problem and in fact it occurred twice since installation.thus far, it has happened a total of four times with my truck, an f350-2016.this problem is severe, it is extremely dangerous and sooner or later, someone will be injured or killed.for the fhtsa - i have dashcam movies of this.

Stared intermittently with the wiper/turn signal multifunction switch and the wipers would not turn off even though the switch was in the off position. As soon as i would start the truck it would come on. Eventually it would not ever shut off and went to the point of tearing up the wiper blades. Had to replace the whole switch to fix the problem.

Ford does not allow the tpms alert threshold to be reduced to reflect aftermarket tire pressure needs.i have owned three superduties to date, a 2011, at 2013 and now a 2016.on each vehicle i have been running toyo opencountry a/t tires on them, and the proper tire inflation value on these is way below what the oem michelin tires come from the factory.the oem tires are suppose to be inflated to 65 psi in the front and 80 psi in the rear.the tpms alert will kick on at a small percentage below these values.the toyo tires on the other hand are suppose to be run at 34 psi, given the gross weight of the vehicle, in order to achieve proper wear, best gas mileage and proper safety performance.i have been trying for five years now to find a dealer that can adjust the tpms alert threshold so my wife does not have the tpms alert incorrectly on all the time.i have had to make a compromise between inflating the tires past their optimal level so the light goes off so she can take advantage of tpms alerting her to a flat tire, or to inflate the tires to the proper lower level to achieve proper wear.when i have inflated the tires to the level required to turn off tpms, the tires have literally been destroyed in 1/10th the time as they should have.in one case i mounted new snow tires on the vehicle and she took a cross country trip, putting about 4000 miles on the vehicle.the tires were inflated to the level ford says so the tpms would turn offwhen she arrived back, the rear tires were destroyed.i now run the tires at toyo's recommended value and told my wife to ignore the tpms warning.ford needs to follow the other manufacturers in allowing the customer to change the tpms alert threshold.every ford dealer thinks all tires should be inflated to 65 psi, which is only applicable for oem tires.this is a major safety issue.
