The contact owns a 2012 ford f-350 sd. The contact stated that while traveling various speeds, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was found that the exhaust gas temperature egt sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 31,538. Updated 04/17/14 ma

Rear brake lights and turn signal failure.my rear brake lights and turn signals intermittently stop working with out notice.i have replaced the bulbs many times only to find out that they are not bad. They will stop working one side at a time and some times both stop working at the same time.this leaves you no indication that you have no brake lights or turn signals working.i have noticed that some times when i turn on my turn signals, one side will flash fast than the other, at about twice the rate as normal.i was in a left turn lane waiting to turn with turn signal on and started to smell electrical burning smell or electrical smoke.this is when i decided to look further into this matter.i have discovered other complaints with 2011 f350 having the same trouble and they have gotten a recall to replace the body control module so it doesn't short out and cause electrical fires.but my 2012 f350 there is no recall for the exact same symptoms.i have called the dealership many times to complain with no solution.my truck was build in 10/11 and only has 37000 miles.i have been having this issue for at least 7-8000 miles.i guess its going to take an accident or fire to get ford to correct this defect.

I was driving down the road at 45 mph in 5 o'clock traffic and a stop safely now message came on my message board and immediately shut my truck down on the road blocking traffic and i was pulling a dump trailer. There was no way to push it out of the road and no where to push it to if i was able . Waited on a tow truck for to hours while all the passing motorists got angry and made that section of the road very dangerous!

My truck has 32,000 miles on it. 6.7 diesel. Upon starting the truck ( stationary in my driveway )#3 fuel injector popped out of the engine, causing a misfire and spraying diesel fuel all over the engine. It was found that the #3 injector hold down clamp had broken caused by a crack in it. . ford is well aware of this defect..this could have resulted in a fire and possible loss of life if it had happened on the highway. Ford agreed to replace half of the defective injector clamps. (4)this leaves the other 4prone to fail at any time. I was charged $897.67. For the" half repair". Ford should be forced to recall these vehicles as it is a well known failure and documented on numerous internet websites. There is a tsb from ford to their dealers on it. It also filled the crankcase withdiesel fuel which did not do it any good. This truck has only 32 k miles and has been meticulously maintained since new. The ford dealer repair order states:"found vehicle leaking fuel.found injectors # 1 & # 3 blew out breaking hold down clamps. Also found other clamps cracked and return line broke as well and leaking fuel.ordered parts on back order paco #5934349contact ford case # cas-15233762-q2p6to. Ford agreed to assist $ 1500.. Ford should pay for the whole repair because it is a defective part that caused this dangerous failure and they are aware of it. Please force them to initiate a recall on these defective fuel injector clamps on their6.7 diesel engines before there is a catastrophic failure resulting in vehicle fires. The engine will most likely shut down if the vehicle is driven with the injector out of the engine. If someone was towing a trailer this could be life threatening. Luckily mine failed in the driveway with the engine at idle..

June 23 2017, i was traveling down the road when a message the read stop when safe popped onto the truck instrument display. I attempted to get to a safe area to pull the truck over but was unable due to a loss in momentum that i later found out was a manufacturer safety precaution due to a faulty egt sensor. I was now currently in the middle of the road and unable to restart the truck. After 20 minutes waving down vehicles so that a serious accident did not happen the truck restarted. I sent back down the road to attempt to get into a safer location instead of blocking 1 lane of the road. I was able to proceed .9 miles before the truck shut off again on a blind hill. The tow truck was arrived and we were then able to remove it from the roadway. Ford has come out with a recall for there 6.7l power stroke ambulances to not have this issue but as civilians we are stuck with a very dangerous and possibly life threatening shut down of the truck over a 57 dollar part. This is not a small instance on this happening just a quick online search will show countless others with the same problem. Fortunately no one was hurt because of the measures taken of the people or the road. This is not right and ford needs to make a change. If you look into the background of this truck you will see this is not the first time of such things happening.

This is the third time that my truck has left me on the side of the road. Ford had a recall of all 2012 ambulance f350 because of this exact situation and is leaving the consumer to worry with it on their own. The actual problem is the egt sensor 13 and 14 in the exhaust system. These sensors continue to fail and all ford can do is to keep my vehicle for 4-5 days and tell me that they cant find the issue and they replace the sensors (only to fail again in about a month). I can not drive this vehicle anywhere without the thought of failure. There is no way i can take this truck out of my normal around town area as if failure does occur, i am stuck. I am afraid that it is going to die on me in traffic and cause an accident or death of myself or a passenger. I have taken it to 3 different local dealers only to be told that they don't have a clue and know nothing of any other similar instances of this ever happening. (i can show you 50 cases online that have happened to other owners of the same vehicle)i am looking to get this taken care of as soon as possible as i am driving at $65,000 vehicle that i cant trust to drive across the state line. Any recourse that you can offer is very much appreciated as ford is acting clueless to this ongoing issue. Thank you for your help.

Due to egt sensor reading high eg temps truck shut off with no warning.left me stranded in the middle of a busy street until a good samaritan pulled me to the curb.truck was fully loaded, but not over loaded.

While driving an alarm sounded and the driver display stated " stop safely now" and lost all throttle response. When the vehicle stopped, the engine shut off and it would not crank or restart. It had to be towed from a busy intersection. The fault turned out to be a failed egt exhaust temperature sensor. It was not even a engine component. It is programming alone that prevented moving the truck to a safe location. What if this was a railroad grade crossing? or had kids in the truck? i can't let my wife drive it now it has 4 of these sensors and only the 1 failed one was changed. Ford has a tsb 13-13-3 on this. It is in its 3rd revision. They know of the problem.

Warning came on saying "stop safely now" and as i pulled to the side of the road the truck shut down and would not re-start.luckily i was not on a busy road, pulling a trailer or out of cell range or there definitely could have been a problem.because there is no warning and the vehicle will not start again and these trucks are way to big to simply push off the road this is a very dangerous situation.after looking into the problem online i have discovered that this is and has been a problem on these trucks and now that i have been told that the replacement sensor is on national backorder and will take an undetermined amount of time to find, this is a very common problem. These are large truck and often are pulling large loads, this problem of a sensor that can completely shut down a truck leaving it stranded is a very dangerous situation not only for the driver but even more for the others on the road since it will be impossible for everyone to safely get out of traffic before the truck simply stops. There are 4 egt exhaust gas temperature sensors on these vehicles, i had one fail causing the problem.

On 11/3/14, at our operation, we had a collision involving our employee as he was backing up our 2012 f350 when his foot got caught under the brake pedal, causing him to back into a door on a building. It appears due to the design and spacing of the pedals that it is possible to get your foot stuck under the brake pedal as you pivot from the accelerator to the brake pedal. Coincidentally, on 11/6 one of the local companies had a similar event involving a 2012 f350 when there employee was approaching an intersection, he went to stop but his foot got caught under the brake pedal and he went through an intersection resulting in a collision. Appears on the newer 2014 f350 models, the brake pedal is narrower, reducing the chance for the foot to get caught.spoke with ford dealer about the issue. They advised brake pedal could not be lowered and brake pedal could not be modified to the newer style because the bolt hole pattern was different. No action was taken. Emailed ford on 11/21/14, they could not advise of any modifications.

When crossing over some minor pavement irregularity, bridge expansion joint etc - the front end of the truck shakes violently.i must hit the brakes and slow down to try and keep from losing control.it is widely known on the ford truck forums as "the death wobble"here is a utube video of it happening http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8euq6f8rgt4considering the amount of folks on the ford truck forum that have experienced it - and the fact that most super duty owners are not even on this forumthis is a widespread and extremely dangerous situation.it appears from what i can see it that it seems to be limited to 4x4 super duty trucks.help!!

I am experiencing what they call the "death wobble".after hitting a series of bumps / pot holes, the front wheels start to shimmy and shake the truck violently, very hard to control the vehicle.as the mileage increases on my truck, the incidents are becoming more frequent and intense.today, 04/09/2014, i almost got killed ... Literally !on i-65 south of lafayette indiana, hit a serious of road patch bumps and holes ... The truck began to shimmy and shake and it went into a frenzy, the whole truck shaking violently.cars around me were diverting away, and a semi was pushing hard from behind and hit his air brakes, i could not control the vehicle.applying the brakes only made it worse.i am a 6' 3" strong muscular man, and could not control the steering wheel or direction of the vehicle. I started in the right lane, but wound up in the median, and almost took out (2) cars to my left and of course the impending semi behind me.i told the dealer of the issue, they did their inspections and found nothing. The truck is oem, i have not added or modified a single thing, it is as it was from the factory.nothing has been changed or modified from the original factory condition !!a ford certified dealership has serviced this vehicle since the day i bought it new in february of 2013. There have been lawsuits filed, i have not had the time to do more research.but it seems pretty incredible to me, that with this recurring issue that goes back 15 years or more, that this agency or ford has done nothing to address or correct the situation.guess we need at least 12 deaths to make it worth someone's attention to understand that this is a severe safety problem, not only to the driver and his occupants, but to other drivers on the road around one of these trucks when the "death wobble" does it's thing, taking over the truck.why is this being ignored ??

Driving straight on a highway at 70 mph, hit a small bump on the driver side only. The steering wheel started shaking violently, the front end and quickly the entire truck felt as though it was shaking apart and was swinging back and forth, i slammed on the brakes and the shaking got worse until about 15 mph, it then stopped. I then got up to 60 mph and when i hit a bump the same thing happened. Then got up to 50 mph and the same thing happened. Then got up to 40 mph and it did not happen again at that speed. I drove 100 miles home at 40 mph on a main highway. Today i am bringing my truck to the dealership to have it fixed under warranty, i will do 40 mph all the way there. I will not tow my horses trailer with this vehicle, it would have caused an accident and killed my horses.

Death wobble at speeds starting anywhere from 40 mph up.very difficult to control especially when you are on a highway or overpass and there's nowhere to slow down or try to steer to. Extremely scary.have had the problem 'try' to be fixed greater than 5 times.the last fix was about 4 months ago and has lasted so far but i'm starting to feel vibration again.the fixes aren't cheap either. Always greater than $1000 with parts and labor.i love my truck but this is getting out of hand.

This truck while driving downtown the interstate after crossing a bridge did a violent shaking of the steering wheel and nearly cause me to hit another car and wreck. I had to slow down almost to a complete stop to get it to stop. I have since taken it to different ford dealerships and also family owned shops to fix the problem and nobody can fix it.

I am experiencing wobble and shaking from the front end after any variation of the road, turning without any bumps in the road, turning with bumps is worse, straight line wobble after slight bumps etc. It is getting increasingly worse and is cupping the front tires considerably, ( when i took it to a ford dealership for rotationi was told that they recommend that i purchase a new set of tires instead of rotation for a dually) i have had the tires rotated anyway. The truck has low mileage, far to low to be experiencing this severe of shake. When i took it recently ( 3/18/2014) to the dealer he said they found nothing worn. Either they have a poorly engineered design or inferior parts or both. I will be using this vehicle for towing a trailer in the future and i am upset to think what possible scenarios i might incur. Also i am a dot 1104 mechanical/technical inspector as a profession and i know when machinery is working correctly and when it is not, ford is in denialthat there is issues with which i described, and i know when i am getting a smoke screen to put it politely.

This is probably about the 30th time my ford f-350 has had a death wobble. This time i was driving on highway 69 between prescott valley and prescott when it started.it was shaking so bad that i almost lost control and hit the median.the other vehicles must have noticed the vehicle shaking because all of the traffic around me backed way off.once again i reported it to ford and took it in right away.they told me again that if it did not do it for them there was nothing they could do for me and sent me home with my vehicle.this seems to be a problem with the ford f-350 but ford refuses to recall or fix it.i found tons of information online about the issue as well as youtube videos taken of the events happening.

Ford super duty truck developed a severe vibration at 70mph on interstate highway. It was a dangerous situation that caused the vehicle to swerve to the left instantly. I was in heavy traffic, i had to slow the vehicle drastically which caused other traffic to have to avoid me. Investigated online, they even have a nick name "death wabble" i found hundreds and hundreds of cases in 15 minutes, what are you doing there?this has to be a recall or something, i'm afraid to drive my truck. The contact owns a 2012 ford f-350 sd. The contact stated that while traveling 50 mph, the vehicle traveled over a road bump and the front end shook violently. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to a local dealer for a diagnostic test. The dealer stated that the vehicle needed the upper ball joints replaced. The contact then took the vehicle to a local mechanic for a second opinion. The mechanic stated that the new track bar and steering damper needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 35,000.updated 1/7/14the consumer stated he took the vehicle to the dealer, because he was experiencing a violent shake in the steering and there was a noise coming from the steering linkage.the dealer explained to the consumer, the front suspension had been modified and the shake was due to a 2 inch lift, which had given the truck too much negative caster, and if he wanted it corrected, two new ball joints adjuster would need to be installed a t a cost of 4500. The consumer declined the repairs, as he did not believed that casters caused violent shakes.updated 01/15/14

Truck has on more than one occasion started to bounce violently after hitting a bump in the road at highway speeds has been in for drag link replacement and steering dampener replacement which correct issue temporarily for a few months before it begins to happen again dealership does not want to address the issue and tries to blame the issue on road conditions or tire wear or tire pressure on internet searches this is a common issue with these trucks and ford has not fixed it yet.when this bouncing happens it is quite scary and really throws the truck around it does not stop bouncing until the speed is slowed to around 35 mph on the highway this could cause an accident either by throwing the truck into a median or into another lane of traffic as the vehicle is difficult to control during the bouncing condition

Multiple times while driving at 50 - 60mph towing my 12,000 lb 5th wheel trailer, often if i drive over a bump in the road, my 2012 ford f350 will start to violently shake from the front steering. I have had parts replaced, alignment done, new tires, new shocks, but nothing stops this problem. I can't tow my trailer anymore. This problem has also happened when not towing. There needs to be a recall for this to be safe. The dealer cannot figure out the solution. Ford seems to ignore it. Please help

Moon roof shattered while traveling on a paved highway on a clear day at approximately 45 miles per hour. I heard a loud noise similar to a gun shot and i first thought a large rock had hit the vehicle but i could not see any damage.i was approximately 200 yards behind a tractor trailer rig which was not a gravel truck or an off road type rig.the next day i noticed a piece of tinted glass in the bed of the truck and climbed into the bed and noticed the moon roof had shattered in an outward direction.a large quantity of broken glass had fallen down and were laying on the moon roof inside cover.if i had not had the cover closed at the time of the breakage, i could have been cover in small pieces of broken glass with potentially a different outcome.this is the second incident i have had this year with a shattered moon roof.in mid october, i was driving a 2014 lexus es300h and the moon roof exploded with a tremendous noise, also in an outward direction.i was going 70 miles per hour and was not in a construction zone nor was i in any traffic.again i did not have the cover open and no glass came into the vehicle.i will also add this complaint to the database as a separate complaint.
