My air bag light keeps coming on, it resets when i turn the truck off. It then turns back after it has been running for a few minutes. Looked on the internet and it states that this is f250 problem.

Violent front collision at 40mph air bag did not deploy.

The ford f250 has no provision for illuminating the dashboard instruments in daylight.all of the controls for headlight, parking light, etc. Require the sensor on the dashboard to be reporting dark conditions similar to night time.this observation was confirmed by ford service personnel who added that they have had many complaints about this condition.even on bright days, the shadows on the instrument panel can be deep enough to prevent their being read. These instruments include the speedometer, temperature and fuel gages, and on-board warning/display.this is a deliberate design change from earlier models.ford service personnel said, " i can't imagine why they would do this". The instrument lights can be made to light during daylight only by blocking the dashboard light sensor.a crumpled black plastic bag is effective.there does not seem to be a valid reason for keeping the instrument lights off whenever any of the headlamps are on.the inability to read the instruments is a constant distraction and reduces the driver's effective view of the road.

Travelling north on i25 in new mexico. Going 60 mph pulling a 5th wheel trailer. Low fuel pressure light came on and lost power steering. Smoke coming from under hood. Then all warning lights came on and coasted to side of the road. By the time i stopped, the engine compartment was fully engulfed in flames. Tried to release the hood but cable melted. Exited the vehicle and called 911. Passer by loaned me fire extinguishers but fire too hot. Fire department arrived within minutes and extinguished the flames. Truck towed to a holding yard.

Have had 2 sensors fail in egt ,this is part of smog control, ford doesn't warranty. Work was done by geweke ford, yuba city, ca 95991 on 10/15/15 invoice 6117108/1.

At approximately 44,000 miles the radiator developed a leak. Warranty on this item i was told expired at 36,000 and it will not be covered.

The contact owns a 2013 ford f-250. While driving approximately 35 mph, the abs, reduced power mode, and check engine indicators illuminated independently. The contact called three different dealers, including wendle ford at 509-484-4800 (located at 9000 n division st, spokane, wa 99218) and was informed to bring the vehicle to their facility. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

Part of spark plug blew out of the head. The remaining portion fell into the cylinder causing internal damage to two cylinders. Dealer had to install remanufactured engine. Very expensive.

Exhaust gas temperature sensors continue to cause issues, beginning within a year of purchase of vehicle new in 11/2013 (july 28, 2014).my truck has been in the ford shop at least seven times now (currently in the shop now--july 2017--for a sensor that showed problems and was replaced last month--june 2017).the vehicle was moving in each circumstance; the first time my dashboard lit up and said "stop safely now"--i barely made it off the highway before the truck shut down. Had to have it towed to dealership.

This is the second time that this issue has happened. The first occasion was on 1-22-15 while driving 40 mph, message center alert notified that a emissions fault had occurred and vehicle will be put into emergency mode and speed will be limited to 50 mph within 50 miles. I immediately took the truck to the dealer and was notified that there was a problem with the def system. At the same time, i was informed that an update was needed (14e03 program update). This was a fuel system calibration. All work was completed with no explanation. I left and the truck seemed fine with no messages.the second issue happened on 2-3-15 o.d. Reading 57393. I was driving 75 mph on ih10 when the message center notified me that a emissions system error had occurred and the vehicle speed is now limited to 50 mph. As a result, the truck began to immediately slow to 50 mph. I looked in my rearview mirror and notice a semi-truck closing from behind at 70-75 mph. We were both in the right hand lane and another car was next to the truck in the passing lane. The truck had no way to move over and avoid me. As they approached me, i had to move right to the shoulder to try to get out of the way of the pending disaster. The semi-truck started to jackknife and barely missed me. The other car had to move over into the median. This was horrible and potentially deadly.i took the truck to the dealer and their report states that a nox module failed and had to be replaced. This is a safety issue... Not an emissions issue. How stupid can you possibly be to put a possible emissions problem in front of all of the human lives at stake. In addition, there seems to be several emissions sensors that can fail that will shut the truck down immediately.this is totally unacceptable and should be corrected. Ford admitted that they override this limitation for ambulances.either the truck is safe or it's not.

Reductant heater not covered by warranty under extended emissions program for this model year, although larger trucks with same drivetrain were covered.it is covered under customer satisfaction program 18m01, for 2011-2015 f450 through f550 diesel trucks, but only for 2011 through 2012 for f250 and f350 trucks.this is the def heater assembly.

Valve springwhile driving on a highway the valve spring broke after only 78,000 miles on the engine.

The contact owns 2013 ford f-250 platinum. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the headlights failed without warning and the contact had to utilize the high beam switch to activate the headlight. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis where it was stated that the dash senor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 12,000.

The dash lights are auto turn on/off, there is no manual control.this works great in total darkness, since the lights are on and you can see the numbers.in the daytime, when driving through trees and canyons the dash lights are off, you can not turn them on with the headlight switch or any other manual means.the reason i believe this is a safety issue is that you can not see how fast you are going, or any of your gauges.monitoring your speed is a main feature when you drive, and i doubt that my sheriff will excuse me for speeding because i cannot see how fast i am driving.from a safety standpoint going too fast into a curve can cause you to roll the vehicle, and i cannot see my dash panel since i drive through the forest and canyons everyday when i leave my house.there is a light sensor on the dash board, that if you put a rag over it, the dash panel will light up.it seems insane to have to put a towel on the dash of a $45,000 vehicle and over ride the computer.the ford dealership has checked it out 4 times under warranty and they say that it is working as the truck was built to be.the engineers they have discussed this with say it is the way it is supposed to be.for the money and the safety, i want to be able to turn on these lights.not all trim levels of this vehicle have this issue, but that doesn't mean that i should be held hostage by a computer.thanks.2013 is not the only affected year for the f250 xlt trim updated 10/21/15

I was driving on a local interstate when my 2013 ford f-250 6.7 diesel shut off.i was in the fast lane, the truck lost all power and rapidly slowed down.luckily i was able to get the truck over to the shoulder using strobe lights and hazard lights to warn other vehicles that i had a serious problem.the interior of the truck began to smell of diesel fuel and it became difficult to breathe.i called my dealer, and the local towing company came to get it.after approx. 1 week at the dealer and expecting this to be an instant warranty repair, ford motor co. Has denied any warranty coverage claiming "fuel contamination."the estimated repair is $11,500 and the truck that i purchased on august 3, 2013 for $50k+ is now estimated to be worth $12,000 unless repaired.i am not comfortable in the truck anymore and i read all over the internet about this problem and how ford is not taking responsibility for a flaw on their end.there are people all over the country with the same issue and even still ford will not own up to it and repair them under warranty.the new 2015 truck has a completely redesigned fuel system which is a clear indication that they knew it was a problem with their oil/water separators and their fuel system.as of now, i lost $40,000 in 1 year (owned truck for 13 months prior to catastrophic failure) and could have been seriously injured had i not been able to get off the road.

Engine light is illuminated while driving and stopped on dash and code p208 comes up for the reductant heater failed, this causes the exhaust system to not fully clean out and could place the truck into a limp mode causing decreased power and potentially stop the vehicle all together

High pressure pump went out causing the fuel system to fell.. Received an estimate to replace the pump and fuel system. Over 9,000 to fix.. My husband was driving at the time when the pump went out.. Causing it to shut down, we had it towed to the closest ford dealership.

I was driving and my check engine light came on. I took it to the dealer and the code was p205c, which reductant tank temperature sensor circuit low.i was told by the ford dealer that it needed to be replaced and that there was a recall for this part from trucks made from aug 2009 to oct 23 2012 and my truck was made on nov 5, 2012.my truck missed being a part of this recall by less than 2 weeks!i think that it is obvious that the recall should be expanded to include more vin numbers corresponding to trucks manufactured later.

This vehicle has a 6.7 diesel engine.5 exhaust gas sensors have been replaced in the first 57,000 miles.the last new sensor lasted for one week and less than 250 miles of driving.

While driving the check engine and reduced power message showed up leaving the vehicle dead on the road.within 30 seconds the truck had stalled and was not able to re-start.truck was towed to the dealership where it was found that the cp4 hp pump had failed contaminating the entire fuel system.the repair bill was ~$8,200

Seat belts in rear seats have failed (3x). The seat belt buckles do not latch or the buckles release button falls out.

The passenger side seat belt tensioner constricts after the seat belt has been buckled and becomes unbearably tight as we drive.this situation occurs on all road surfaces and the further one goes the tighter it restricts.this has been an ongoing situation.

The drivers side female seat belt buckle seperated into 3 pieces when engaging with the male seat belt buckle. Duct tapedthe broken buckle so i can use the seat belt while i wait for a replacement part. Hope the belt stays engaged in the event of an accident.

The contact owns a 2013 ford f-250. While driving at 65 mph with the cruise control activated, the vehicle would surge forward uncontrollably causing the seat to recline. The contact stated the failure recurred several times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 19,000.

The contact owns a 2013 ford f-250. The contact stated while driving approximately 55 mph the vehicle experienced severe vibration in the front end of the vehicle making it difficult to control. The contact also stated that while applying the brakes to stop the vehicle it would drift to the right or left making it difficult to keep the vehicle in the lane. The failure was diagnosed by the dealer and the contact was informed that the front wheel bearings were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the defect. The failure mileage was 1000.updated 04/17/14*lj

Truck will start to violently shake while on interstate after going over ruff road or bridge joint. It seems like the wheels are going to break off. This happened to me numerous times. First time i got new tires and alignment.the last time this occurred was on the way home from school and we passed over a bridge joint. The truck started to shake so much the kids started to scream "daddy daddy!!"i applied the breaks as calmly as i could but i had 18 wheeler on both sides and just had to keep applying breaks until i got the vehicle down to approximately 35 mph when the shaking subsided. With both my girls in their car seats and both weeping, asking if we were going to die and that this truck is scary. I was scared to drive home the rest of the 15 minute drive. Both kids (4 and 9) are now scared to ride in my truck and want me to sell it.this seems to be a known issue called "death wobble" with ford superdutys. Ford seems to have a recall for 2017 and newer but this does nothing for my 2013.this is a real problem and it is not due to lack of maintenanceor caused by the customer, it is a design flaw.i can show you a part of road where this will occur at a high frequency if you want to get your own superduty and come test it. Please do something to force ford to address this issue, even if its a parts list to buy to get it fixed on your own. I can't seem to find a real answer as to why this happens.

While driving on any road/highway vehicle began wobbling after hitting a bump while driving between 45-55 miles an hour, causing shaking/wobbling to the point of losing control without slowing down below 10-15 miles an hour. It began with less than 38,000 miles on the vehicle, requiring two service visits to date.

Death wobble.highway speeds in traffic, it happened at highway speed on interstate which put our safety and others at risk.we have taken it to the ford dealership service department and waiting for repairs, not sure of diagnosis, waiting on parts.no previous warning at all.one of the most scary experiences we have ever had.donā€™t know how we got through this without wrecking.had to run off pavement into the grass to prevent loosing control.it was completely unexpected and took us totally by surprise.

While driving down i-75 i noticed my husbands front tires wobbling and shaking uncontrollably on 3 different occasions in less than 30 miles. This is not the first time this has happened. We have had the truck serviced many times trying to fix the issue but it still persists. This is something ford should be held responsible for. It is putting our lives and others in danger.

At hwy driving speeds the vehicle starts to shake uncontrollably. I have had it in to the dealership multiple time and spent thousands of dollars and it still is not fixed.aka (death wobble)

Vehicle has always vibrated at highway speeds. This last weekend it started shaking so violently that even the phone mount on the windshield came off, forcing me to pull over on i75. After checking tires and tire pressure got back on the road, vibration came back but not as severe. Have had the tires checked for alignment and balance, no issues there. Seems to only be a problem at 60 mph+

Driving on major interstate when i drove through bumpy area of the hwy. The front started shaking violently unexpected. I snice have learned this is called "death wobble"i reduced speed to exit to the shoulder but the shaking has stopped. I exited the next safe exit and looked at my front suspension/steering and did not see any noticable damage. I continues for approx 10 miles when it started again after crossing bumpy portion of hwy.over fear of causing bodily injury to myself or someone else. I brought in to the dealership

I was driving 75 mph down the highway, ran over a patch if wavy concrete road when the front end of my f250 began to shake violently. Out of nowhere, i was not in control of my truck and simply along for the ride. Thank god for alert truck drivers around me that gave me space when they saw i was struggling to regain control. I used 15' of lane, side to side, to get my truck back under control but the only thing that worked was taking my foot off the accelerator. Once i reached 35 mph, the shaking ceased and i was able to move to the side of the highway to determine the cause of the issue. Imediately after getting to the side of the road, i checked the tires and removed the hub caps to confirm every wheel lug was tight and secure. No play in the wheels side to side nor any visible irregularities anywhere. With reluctance, i drove on the service road and the truck ran smooth. I eased back onto the highway and the truck ran smooth. When i researched my event on the web this evening, i found the issue of "death wobble". I will be contacting the dealership tomorrow, but based on what i've read from numerous reviews and comments, i'm not the only one with the problem, nor should i expect an admission from ford or expect them to take responsibility for the issue. It surprises me that an issue this grave affects 2005-2017 year models and nothing has been done toremedy the defect. It appears that ford is placing the blame back onto the customer's maintenance schedule and tire alignments. How can this problem which began in the 2005 model still plague my 2012 model? what can be done to rectify the issue and prevent this from happening to others?

Interstate hwy high speed braking for exit suddenly caused violent shacking of entire vehicle and steering wheel(death wobble).

My 2013 ford f250 superduty has the "death wobble" problems with the front steering/suspension.this problem should be fixed before it gets someone killed.my first occurrence happened while i was on us-64 west bound near raleigh, nc while traveling at ~70mph (the posted speed limit).narrowly avoid other vehicles while trying to maintain control and get stopped.

Was driving down the interstate and drove over a rough patch of road and the truck violently started shaking. I was driving ~70 mph when this occurred and had to take evasive maneuvers to get off the road and subside the situation. This occured 4 more times on the trip and once in the middle of busy traffic. After much reading and discovering several videos of the same situation, this appears to be the ford f-250/350 "death wobble".

The contact owns a 2013 ford f-250. The contact stated that the vehicle had a bent frame, which resulted in a shake in the steering wheel. The failure was noticeable upon starting the vehicle at speeds approximately 65 mph. In addition, the vehicle veered independently when it struck a bump. The vehicle also had a bent frame. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the bent frame resulted in failure with the steering. The vehicle had alignments, the tire was replaced, and the steering stabilized; however, the failure recurred. The technician also diagnosed that the bent frame was acceptable and did not need to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000. The vin was not provided.

While traveling about 50 mph the truck hit a rough section of road and the front tires began a severe uncontrolled shimmy that didn't stop until i had slowedto about 10 mph

I was driving at 70 mph on the highway and hit a bump and it suddenly went into a death wobble to the point where i could barely hold onto the steering wheel.

Starts wobbling (shaking) uncontrollably sideways & up and down when i am driving above 65 miles an hours over uneven roads and i hit a mild bump in the road.only stops wobbling when i am able to get the truck to slow down below 60 miles a hour. Started happening 3 months ago.has been happening much more frequently recently.

I recently bought this truck like 4 or 5 months ago. I was on a back roadnm185 going 55 and all of a sudden the truck started shaking uncontrollably and i couldn't steer it. The truck went into the other lane. Thankfully i was able to get control back before a vehicle was in front of us in the other lane. It was a very close call and extremely scary. I had children in the truck that were especially scared. We went 40 the rest of the way home without more issues. I later had the truck taken to a shop where they said the track bar and tie rod ends needed to be replaced which of course aren't covered in my warranty. This is a major safety issue and was very fortunate that it didn't happen when in a high traffic area.

I recently purchased this vehicle and yesterday while driving down the interstate i expierenced what is being labeled as the death wobble i actually thought my truck was going to roll over and by reading all the post that i have found its a common occurence in ford f250s and should be handled by ford not out of my pocket i just bought the truck and was not [lanning on having to sink money i dont have in it but i have to because if not its going to kill me or someone please help

Extreme 'death wobble' happens when driving above55mph and there's a bump or dip of any size in the road. The truck becomes impossible to control until you come to almost a complete stop this has been fixed 3 times now it initially started in 2017 with just about 140,000 miles on the truck (which had a new front end installed by ford)

Death wobble. While on the interstate driving approx. 65 mph, i went over a bump (bridge expansion gap) and my truck began shaking violently. I had no control over steering and was in the middle lane of the 3 lane interstate. I began drifting to the passing lane as i was on a curve and could not steer my truck. I had to abruptly slow down to 35mph before the shaking subsided and i was able to regain control over my truck.this is a well-known and well documented issue with ford and their superduty line of trucks. Its a shame people will have to die before action takes place as ford will not openly admit to a fault. Their fix is half hazard and does not take care of the problem.

2013 f-250 platinum super duty power stroke truck started bumping and vibration in the front end and steering at 65mph after slight bounce on a road transition from road to bridge. Vibration increased until truck was put into neutral and allowed to slow down. Once under 50 mph truck regained stability.

I have a 2015 f 250 superduty, original owner, that i am now expreience what is refered to as a "death wobble.'this has happened to me four times over the past three months. Each time i was driving at about 70 mph, either on a concrete freeway, or on an ashpalt highway, hit a small bump in the road, then the truck bounces around. You do not have control of the vehicle, steering input causes it to increase the wobbling and bouncing. Each time the wobble did not stop until i was below 40 mph and braking.one time i had an empty 16 foot flat bed trailer, which almost caused the trailer to flip. The three other times no trailer.each time i felt heplless in controling the vehicle and scarrng the *^%^*& out of me.in researching the internet this issue has been a problem for some time and there has been no recall. Why has there been no recal on this issue?

This is a major safety issue and was very fortunate that it didn't happen when in a high traffic area.

Cab bushings need to be replaces at 61k miles.vehicle body makes a load noise and shifts to the side when going over an incline. Vehicle inspected at ford shop and needs 16 cab bushings replaced.

I purchase a vehicle which i knew there was an issue i thought was the suspension . I asked woodbridge motors in wpbfl to repair before the closing date. The day we come to pick it up, they assure me that the problem was taking care of, and they asked me to sign off the paper saying that there was nothing wrong with the car, which i trusted them and i did. Right after i drove the car of thelot i notice it was nothing done, so i brought car back to them, they told me the car was fixed at tire kingdom in lake worth to bring the car back to tire kingdom which i did. Tire kingdom keep the car for half of the day and also told me that the car was fixed. When i drove the car back, the car was doing the same thing again, the steering need an alignment and have a horrible vibration in the back. I drove the car back to tire kingdom and the response was: we just don't know how to fixed it, at that moment i brought it to my own mechanics and turns out it has a bend rim and a bad tire, and also need it alignment it was never done.i asked the dealer to pay me a percentage of the cost so i can get it done right away. At this moment we were negotiating another vehicle so they said: sure let me talk to my manager, he is not here and i got the same response until we finalize the paper work in the other vehicle. Days later they said if i would purchase another vehicle or bring a new customer they would help me with my problem other than that they are not doing absolutely nothing.

The contact owns a 2013 ford f-250. While driving over a bump in the road, the vehicle shook violently without warning. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.

Interstate hwy high speed braking for exit suddenly caused violent shacking of entire vehicle and steering wheel(death wobble).

Vehicle shakes violently when driving after hitting bumps in the road at low speeds and high speeds

Driving south on texas highway 71 from austin tx, just south of smithville texas my steering began to violently shake and cause me to lose control of my steering. I was able to bring the truck to a stop. This was a very freighting experience for me and my wife.

Coming back from a trip on i-10 driving highway speed i hit a small pot hole. The truck jump to the right, almost lost it. This has happened a number of times. Spoke with dealer, they stated to let some air out of the tires.at this point and time i have not let any air out. I feel it has something to do with the suspension.

At higher speeds in motion on a highway when vehicle hits a bump or groove the truck goes into a violent shake until speed is lowered to around 30 mph. Unknown part.

While driving down i-75 i noticed my husbands front tires wobbling and shaking uncontrollably on 3 different occasions in less than 30 miles. This is not the first time this has happened. We have had the truck serviced many times trying to fix the issue but it still persists. This is something ford should be held responsible for. It is putting our lives and others in danger.

The contact owns a 2013 ford f-250. The contact stated while driving approximately 55 mph the vehicle experienced severe vibration in the front end of the vehicle making it difficult to control. Experience the death wobble 3 times in the past month

2013 f-250 platinum super duty power stroke truck started bumping and vibration in the front end and steering at 65mph after slight bounce on a road transition from road to bridge. Vibration increased until truck was put into neutral and allowed to slow down. Once under 50 mph truck regained stability.

Bought the truck in december and noticed it had a shake, took it to the dealership and they "fixed' it. Put new suspension, and balanced the tires. Now in april, it started to shake again.

While driving on an expressway part of the exhaust system fell off and bounced around in traffic. Six bolts had rusted away and ford exhaust part # 5a212 dropped off. I felt it hit the underneath of the vehicle and saw it bouncing on the road as i drove on. I originally thought it was road debris i had driven over but i got off the expressway at the next exit to check the truck. At that time i couldn't determine what it was so again i attributed the part to road debris. The vehicle drove, handled and sounded the same. It wasn't until later when washing the truck that i noticed the tail pipe was loose. Upon further inspection i determined there was part of the exhaust system was missing. The vehicle is now 4 years old but spends most of the winter in the south, not exposed much to salt treated roads. I don't believe 6 bolts should have rusted away to cause the failure. I have notified ford of the situation.

Exhaust flange bolts sheared during normal operation. I.e. Not during off road activity, no excessive bumps such as pot holes or rough track crossings. This has happened two separate times at different flanges.

Engine light is illuminated while driving and stopped on dash and code p208 comes up for the reductant heater failed, this causes the exhaust system to not fully clean out and could place the truck into a limp mode causing decreased power and potentially stop the vehicle all together

Highway driving felt a vibration. Pulled over, found bulge in tread of stock ford michelin lt275/65 r20 on the right rear. Mileage 24,091. Replaced with same tire. Now, pulling toyhauler, felt same vibration again. Pulled over, left rear has a bulge. Mileage, 24,494. 403 miles later.reluctantly replaced with same tire. Now, driving down the highway, felt the vibration again. Just as i got in the right lane, front passenger side tire blows. Mileage, 26,210. 1716 miles later. Seriously having doubts about these michelin tires ford uses on their super duty trucks. Extremely reluctant to replace with michelins again but now i have no choice except spend big bucks for a complete new set of tires. So this time i replace both front tires at the same time. Why there is no action on these tires is beyond me. Michelin ltx275/65 r20 tires need to be recalled now.
