My 15 year old daughter was driving my truck when someone slammed on brakes in front of us to turn, with no turn signal.we hit this persons vehicle in a 55 mph zone at 55 mph and then hit the ditch.none of our airbags deployed.with the damage that occured, i would think a sensor would have triggered. This needs to be brought to the attention of ford motor company.

Collied with a vehicle stopping to make a left hand turn.damages include frame damage, smashed in front end.had to kick the driver door open to get out.no airbags ever deployed.ended up with head lacerations.

Started my truck to let it warm up before i took it in to town. Went inside for around 150 min, come outside and i seen smoke coming from my doors and as soon as i opened it feom the passenger door it was full of smoke and i seen a fire on my driver side feint seat. It completely burnt my truck and another f250 the was parked next to it.

Interior lights do not come on when door is opened, only can be manually turned on. The cargo lights and high brake like no longer work as well which is a safety issue with the center high brake light. Turns out a lot of 2012 f250 owners are complaining of the same issue and it's caused by the bcm. Body control module. It appears that a design flaw lets water drip on the module which eventually makes it no longer operate as explained by several repair shops i've contacted. The 2011 f250 has a recall for this same problem.

While driving, dash lights, speedometer, rpm gauge, ac, and radio intermediately shut off for 5 to 10 seconds and then come back on. This repeatedly happens.

"takata recall"vehicle engine failure at speed, failed egt sensor caused the truck to shut-off in the middle of an interstate

Egt sensors shut down my truck in the middle of a 2 lane highway and would not start at all

I bought a used 2012 f250 four wheel drive that had no dome, cargo, or map lights but everything else worked normal. After replacing bulbs, dimmer switch, and checking all fuses i took in to my ford dealership and they found that due to moisture in the cab, it burned out the body control module aka bcm. Rumor has it that these trucks leak water from windshield or firewall. I paid 650 to have it replaced.

The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250. While driving approximately 40 mph, all the warning lights illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was unable to restart and was towed to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician diagnosed that the power control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 16,000. Updated 02/09/15*lj updated 6/9/2015

While driving with cruise control on, when adjusting speed, engine will stall out and power steering, brakes stop working, all interior and exterior lights remain on, incident has happened twice within a week

Two different problems: first i was left stranded about 2 1/2 hours away from home because of a simple egt sensor defect shut down my truck. Had to pay a tower $350 to drive my truck to dealership and they tell me it was a little sensor that left me stranded. This type thing shouldn't happen when you pay $60,000 plus for a vehicle. Now months later i have another issue that from all the blogs say is a problem most 2012 models have called the "death wobble". It is now happening at least once on every drive i make. I have had over 8 situations where i have had to slam on breaks to make the vibration stop and the car behind me almost slam into the back of my truck. Because once the wobbling starts you have to come to almost a complete stop before the wobbling will stop. My wife now refuses to drive my truck because she is scared to death to drive it. I don't even like to drive it, but it's necessary because it is the only vehicle i have to drive. I am at the point of wanting to trade it, but what kind of trade in am i going to get with this problem happening. My 2012 just has a little more than 40,000 miles, not very much when you are talking about a diesel engine. It is happening more often now than before, and i fell it will just continue to happen more. No one in my family wants to drive or ride with me in my truck anymore. It seems as though ford is refusing to admit that this is a problem on every online site i go too, i assume it will take a few people getting killed before they realize there is a problem. What are owners to due with this, because if we trade the truck know one is going to want to buy it. So once again the consumer gets shafted. Nhtsa we are looking for you to help us with this problem before someone gets killed. Please help us with this problem! please!!!!!!

Experienced 'death wobble' while driving a highway 287 (same speed no stop and go with traffics).truck was suddenly violently shaking and wobbling caused my husband almost lost control.he was able to pull over the tuck but scared him to death. We had it towed to a dealership and they confirmed the death wobble provided a quote.

When your driving around fifty miles per hour and hit a bump it goes into what is described as the death wobble this truck has never seen winter it is in perfect condition only has 28 thousand miles i'm an ex asa mechanic so i'm familiar with mechanics my son in-law had a2011 same problem he lived in colorado at the time he kept taking it back to a ford dealer they kept charging him never did fix it 3000 dollars later my daughter made him sell it she was afraid to drive it this is really ridiculous that they don't stand up and do the right thing

The vehicle's engine will stall (cut off) without any indication or notice during motion or at a stop.this has happened at city speeds (less than 25 mph) and at highway speeds (greater than 55 mph) the vehicle will not immediately start but may start after standing for some time.this causes power steering, power brakes and other important safety features to be degraded or lost.

Egr sistem fails to soon and i have dead wobble front suspension

The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250. The contact found metal shrapnel in the fuel system, which traveled to the engine. Multiple unknown warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the battery was changed. The mechanic diagnosed that the fuel injectors and fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 188,180.

The vehicle told me to pull over safely, then it slowed down. I was stopped at a red light in the middle of three lanes of traffic, and it shut down. It would not start.

The truck engine will stall at low speed for one to five seconds, especially dangerous if you are trying to enter traffic.i have reported to northside ford every time i have it serviced, they finally agreed that i have a problem, howeverthey have failedto fix . I get the impression that ford is aware of this problem, but for their own reasons do not want to fixit.

The diesel def safety swirches go out turning off the engine if truck going less than 10 mph.a very bad safety issue if pulling into traffic.

I have a 2012 ford f-250 6.7 liter diesel, the truck has 63,000 miles on it and is under extended warranty through ford, about 2 weeks ago truck engine suddenly died, luckily we were not traveling at a high rate of speed. I had truck towed to ford dealership and they diagnosed it as contaminated fuel, which resulted in complete failure of fuel system. Cost for this repair is $10,500 and ford extended warranty doesn't cover bad fuel. Problem is i only get my fuel from one station and they tested negative for contamination. My feelings about this is there was no contaminated fuel, but instead a faulty component in my fuel system. Meaning ford should back up there product. At this time the problem is being investigated but ford is already saying i need to go through my insurance

The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250. The contact stated that while driving at 50 mph, the vehicle began to shake violently. In addition, there was oil coming from under the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the track bar needed to be replaced. The failure mileage was 40,000.

Driving truck it told me to pull over and shut engine off. I was stranded on the side of the road and it would not restart, had to get a tow home. I did some research and found this is exactly what my truck did as follows. When the egt sensor goes on the blink, the powertrain control module thinks there is an exhaust system overheating situation. The vehicle then goes into a 'controlled power reduction mode' while five warning chimes are ringing away. This ends with the engine shutting down completely as soon as the truck slows to four mph, with no engine restart immediately available.

While in motion highway driving the engine shuts down and will not start

The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle independently decelerated to 30 mph with the illumination of the check engine warning light and a warning chime. In addition, a caution message displayed that advised the contact to stop safely.the contact noticed black smoke emitting from the exhaust pipe. The vehicle maneuvered to the side of the road. The engine was restarted and was driven at a low speed cautiously. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the one of the four engine egt exhaust gas temperature sensors was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was 33,285.

The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250. The contact stated that while driving 65 mph on an incline the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact mentioned that after he inspected the vehicle he noticed that the engine oil was overheating. As a result, the vehicle decelerated and ultimately stalled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 7,000 and the current mileage was 8,200.

On 28 september 2012 i purchased a new 2012 ford f250 diesel pickup from a ford dealer.on/about 1 november 2012 while accelerating (from approximately 10 miles per hour speed) into an interstate traffic lane this vehicle suddenly went into an engine near stall/loss of power condition which lasted approximately three to five seconds and then regained normal engine power.this was a very alarming condition as i was entering into high speed traffic and needed capable acceleration while entering into traffic.the truck had approximately 450 miles on it when this first occurred.i took this truck back to the dealer when the truck had 551 miles on it and they could not find anything wrong.while driving the truck on 27 november 2013, this same engine near-stall event occurred under a similar highway ingress condition when the truck had approximately 5,100 miles on it.i called the ford customer service hotline and was advised to take the truck to a ford dealer for a second checkup.i then took the truck to a different ford dealer on 6 january 2014 when the truck had 5,510 miles on it and they could not find the problem.neither of the two ford dealers that i've taken the truck to for diagnosis will provide me with a further course of action to fix this recurring engine malfunction.i want this malfunction fixed or a new pickup to replace it,it creates a personal safety hazard for me and my family and the problem has been in the truck from when it was only a month old and had 450 miles on it.

Red fluid found on garage floor. I took my truck in and ford could not find any leak. Within a week later i took it back and showed them where it was leaking. Ford brought the master mechanic over and they determined that it was something loose on the right side up high they did not tell me what it was. Within a couple of weeks i took it back again and they determined the water pump was leaking they had the truck for 3 days. After picking up my truck within 200 feet from the ford dealer the low power illuminated and the engine symbol lit up. They 1st told me they would have to take the top of the engine off to check it out. A hour passed and i got called and told it was the diesel fuel was gelling up and they would have to put a additive in the fuel and that i should add it again every other tank of fuel.

Started my truck to let it warm up before i took it in to town. Went inside for around 150 min, come outside and i seen smoke coming from my doors and as soon as i opened it feom the passenger door it was full of smoke and i seen a fire on my driver side feint seat. The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250. While driving approximately 40 mph and over a bump, the front of the vehicle began to shake violently without warning. The failure recurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the bushing bar on the front end of the vehicle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact also stated that while driving approximately 65 mph, the pull over safely now warning light illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed that the egt sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

I have a 2012 ford f250 king ranch 6.7 diesel.the radiator started leaking so i took it to the dealership only to find out i needed a new radiator.since my bumper-to-bumper warranty ran out at 36k miles this repair was on my dime.in researching online forums and such, there have been known issues with the diesel radiator as far back as 2008.the entire premise behind a diesel engine is "compression-ignition" in which fuel is ignited due to compressed air at approximately 1000 degrees f.there is no scenario where the either the manufacturer of the radiator and/or ford motor company themselves should not be required to fix this faulty part at their expense.the repair estimate was over $2,000 on a vehicle less than 3 years old.in no way should any new vehicle owner be required to pay for a new radiator much less for the labor to install it and that goes double for the owner of a diesel engine.

The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250. While driving approximately 40 mph, the vehicle stalled and a "stop vehicle" message appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the exhaust sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

On my 2012 ford f250 it has the crank case ventilation filter that leaks oil into the intake i have seen alot of post about this exact problem it sorta feels like ford wants our trucks to break sobwe have to buy a new one the filter is cheap but its a defect that the dealer made this truck has been in the shop twice already bc of the def sending unit and now with this problem thia truck only has 101k miles and i forgot to say when this happens it builds up extream pressure on the oil cap when it opens up it throws oil in your face i needed to go to the eye doctor so i could get a flush trust me ford knows about the problem on these 6.7 they just havent figured out a solution to keep there ford customers satisfied i would like them to put in a new ccv filter because of there poor design on this truck..

The 6.2 engine has broken valve springs 3 times now. First two times was able to just replace the broken valve spring. The 3rd time it broke a valve spring it dropped the valve in the motor and put hole right through the block and seized the motor almost causing me to wreck

Radiator failed at 47,500 miles. Ford refuses to fix. Have read multiple instances of defective radiators failing from new to 100,000 miles. This website lists complaints and average mileage. Http://repairpal.com/coolant-leak-from-radiator-931.

Driving through a farm field and something hit the oil pan and cracked it with a hair line fracture, 1/8 inch, and oil leaking.no visable damage or marking until pulled from truck, even than no marks but a slight dent in plastic. No other visable damage anywere else under truck.asked if all oil pans are plastic and i was told by dealer, yes.this is a truck designed to for off road heavy duty work.

I have had to replace egt exhaust heat sensors 4 times in my 2012 f-250. The same sensor twice, first at 26k around june 2013 andagain at 46k, oct 2014. I've been stranded 3 times and had to be towed to a dealer. I occasionallypull a 42ft 5th wheel camper and am very worried it will happen while pulling it with no place to pull over. Ford needs to step up to the plate and get a fix for this problem.

Driving down expressway about 70mph during rush hour traffic.truck had been running about 30 minutes prior.message pops up on instrument panel that states "stop safely now", no other message given.once slowed to approximately 10mph the engine died and i had no power steering or power brakes.this is in rush hour dallas traffic.i pull over to the side of the road as much as possible and try to restart it for 40-50 minutes with no avail.have it towed to dealership which now informs me that i have 3 bad egt sensors and they need to be replaced for the same reason, none.they state that they are not covered under warranty and ford has not recalled them.this is concerning because this is the second time this has happened and this one was in a very dangerous situation.i know of 2 other very close friends that have ford f-250 trucks that this exact thing happened to.

This is the 2nd time that this has happened with this vehicle. The truck dash board sensor flashed the "safety shut off", which is related to the egt exhaust temperature sensor of the emission controls. After the indicator lit up, the truck instantly shut down with no additional warning or provision of time to merge out of traffic and into a safe area. The truck would not restart nor turn over however the batteries were fine. In my researching of corrections or causes to this problem, it appears thatford is aware of this malfunction as others have brought it forward to their attention yet as of today ford has not yet acknowledge the problem. It is my hope that if enough that if enough ford drivers come forward, ford will look into the problem, find a solution and provide a recall to correct it before someone dies.

I was driving on i 26 and a warning came on saying to slow down and pull over safely.i dad no chance to do this as the computer put the vehicle in "limp mode". An 18 wheeler narrowly missed hitting my truck as we moved to the shoulder and the engine died. The truck would not start for about 45 minutes. We then drove to the dealer who said he could find nothing other than a warning to change the oil.in the past 2 weeks, the truck has shut down twice again. A tow truck had to be called both times.the first time i was on i 77 and the truck went into limp mode and the shut down as i pulled to the shoulder.the next time i was on us 521 going uphill with no shoulder. The truck again went into limp mode andthen stopped on the highway. Cars and trucks were swerving to avoid us. My wife was crying because she was certain that an 18 wheeler would not be able to miss us. I called the sheriff and ford and later had the truck towed. These two times, the cause was an egt exhaust gas temperature sensor failure. I believe #2 failed and then #3 (there are 4 of these sensors). Dependability is of course an issue here. But the real issue is safety. Ford has designed a computer system that stops the vehicle no matter where you are to save the engine and/or the emissions system.in doing so, the lives of the driver and passengers are put at risk and could be killed as a result.

The vehicle was towed to a dealer for diagnosis and the contact was informed that the egt sensor would need to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired.the failure recurred within 8,000 miles. The vehicle was towed and repaired a second time. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 48,000 and the current mileage was 56,600.

The 2011 f250 has a recall for this same problem.

I was safely operating my ford f 250 on a concrete bridge in pine island florida . I was traveling @ 63 mph and was making a slight left bend . The truck crossed an expansion joint and went into uncontrollable violent oscillation of suspension and steering . The oscillation was such that the steering wheel was difficult to hold on to and my first thought was multiple flat tires or a wheel came off the vehicle . Hard braking to under 30 mphwas what was required to stabilize steering to "normal" . That was the first time this occurred and i discussed with my service adviser at the ford dealership that i purchased the truck from. I inspected vehicle and could see no damage of obvious problems . I monitor tire pressure regularly , have no modifications to suspension or steering on vehicle .the next time this occurred 12/26/13, i was traveling approx. 65 mph and again was in a slight left hand turn and crossed an expansion joint near birmingham alabama on highway 65. I was surrounded by dense 65 mph traffic and the truck was uncontrollable. This time there was a near accident as i has a semi tractor trailer both close behind me and to the right side of me . Once again i had to brake rapidly to avoid crossing lanes putting my family at risk of serious accident .this is a hazardous condition and the dealer has no explanation. The force is violent enough that it could easily damage parts of the truck .as a side note , the fuel pump came apart and slung metal fragments throughout the fuel system in truck within one hour of the violent oscillation.

No other visable damage anywere else under truck.asked if all oil pans are plastic and i was told by dealer, yes.this is a truck designed to for off road heavy duty work.

I got on the highway and was doing a turnaround when i accelerated to enter the highway lanes a warning light that said reduced engine power appeared on my dash. Approximately 200' later my truck died on the highway. My high pressure fuel pump went out and apparently disintegrated sending aluminum shavings throughout my entire fuel system. The fix is to replace the entire fuel system at a cost of $11,200. The ford company is claiming the fuel was contaminated and caused the pump to rust and go out. I have never got a water in fuel warning light on my truck and have had all the required maintenance done on the truck. The insurance company had a lab do a sample of the fuel in my truck and the fuel met all the astm requirements.

We were driving in the left lane of four lane highway (two lanes each way) when the sensor warning came on saying stop safely soon.my husband started to move to the right.the traffic was very light.before we could get into the right lane the truck died.had we been in heavy traffic we would have been stalled in the highway.i am reporting this out of concern for other diesel truck drivers. Ford dealer said cause was bad exhaust gas temperature egt sensor and we paid over $1000 to have all 4 sensors replaced. This has caused us to lose faith in our truck and we traded it in for a newer model.

"takata recall"vehicle engine failure at speed, failed egt sensor caused the truck to shut-off in the middle of an interstate

Truck give me a stop safely now massage and shut down the motor in the middle of nowhere looked it up on the internet told me it was a bad egt censor had to have the truck towed would not restart

2012 f250 bought new 2013 46,000 miles.driving on road. No warning whatsoever. Shuts down. Dealer informs me, water in fuel, not covered by warranty. $9700 repair bill!

While driving with cruise control on, when adjusting speed, engine will stall out and power steering, brakes stop working, all interior and exterior lights remain on, incident has happened twice within a week

When attempting to accelerate for passing slower traffic, vehicle lost power and went into the limp mode. Problem seems most present at around 2000 rpm while attempting to increase speed.it appears that this problem is occurring when the turbo boost is increased. Research of this problem has shown that many owners are experiencing this same problem with the eco boost engine in this and other year models.the nhtsa began an investigation in 2012 but dropped the probe when ford said they had resolved this issue.no recall has been issued for this problem but it is definitely a "safety issue" for drivers of this equipment.headed for the ford dealership tomorrow to see how this can be resolved.

The f250, 2012, 6.7l, diesel emissions system emits diesel particles into the cabin of the truck.the particles are fine and are a health risk.the particulate filter has been changed several times, but the particles can be seen on the door jams leading into the truck.these particles are fine mist and enter into the cab as well because the cab isn't air tight and the particles into the cab and when breathed in can cause not only lung damage, but cancer.the vehicle has been well maintained.

The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250.the contact stated that while driving 25 mph, the vehicle stalled and the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver.there were no warning lights that illuminated on the instrument panel.the vehicle was merged to the side of the road where the contact noticed that diesel fluid was pouring out from under the hood.the vehicle was towed to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the high pressure fuel pump needed to be replaced.the vehicle was repaired.the failure mileage was 21,799 and the current mileage was 22,000.

The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250. The contact stated that the driver side door latch sensor failed and caused the door to remain ajar while the vehicle was in motion. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was notified that the door latch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 24,989.

Driving down interstate 85 at 65mph passing a vehicle and all the sudden truck starts to violently shake, making it nearly impossible to control until we got below 30 mph. Felt as if tires were going to fall off or we were going to loose control.

The 6.2 engine has broken valve springs 3 times now. First two times was able to just replace the broken valve spring. The 3rd time it broke a valve spring it dropped the valve in the motor and put hole right through the block and seized the motor almost causing me to wreck

Egt sensor fault resulted in a "stop safely now" alert, shutdown of power while approaching the neches river bridge in beaumont, tx, a bridge on a 3-lane interstate (i-10).engine subsequently shutdown while in heavy afternoon work traffic causing high potential for a major accident.traffic behind and next to me swerved and braked on the 75 mph interstate while the truck lost power as it just made the crest.vehicle was towed.egt was replaced.bank 1, sensor 4.second such failure.first was in august, 2015.replaced with ac3z-5j213-b in aug, 2015 (the current failed egt).this time replace with ac3z-5j213-c, see photo for differences in sensor design.i have read rq 14-005, vehicle commanded engine shutdown, and cannot believe this topic was revisited with no action resulting to require the 15v-175 remedy reprogramming for non-emergency vehicles.i ask the the nhtsa revisit this topic to consider allowing owners to have the same pcm change to stop a single egt sensor fault to result in an immediate loss of vehicle power and causing high potential for injury to the public.as a mechanical engineer in the petrochemical industry, and having participated in many hazards analyses over 20 years, i struggle to see that the consequence of continued use with a bad sensor for a longer period, but at some reduced power, could ever be greater the chaos, confusion, and high injury potential from prompt removal of 70% vehicle power from the driver in 45 seconds. Towing a 5th wheel trailer and experiencing the "stop safely now" power cutout is a recipe for disaster.thank you for your consideration, and i hope to hear of the reopening of investigation on this topic and allowance to reprogram the pcm.

I started the truck one morning to head to church put the truck in (d) drive headed out down the hwy pulled up to a stop sign on the way when traffic cleared i pressed the accelerator and the engine revived up real high but the truck didn't move and about the time i started to let off, the transmission clunked and took off and shifted weird between 1st and 2nd. The truck has responded two other times in the very same way once going about 40mph it reacted like the truck shifted in neutral. Ford dealer replaced the front pump in transmission, it still shifts weird and makes a terrible whining noise. Two or three times under acceleration to pass another vehicle the trans down shifted from 6th gear to 4th and would not shift back up, and then the opposite occurred pressed accelerator to floor running about 45mph to pass another vehicle and the trans never down shifted and i had to brake and fall back in behind that car before a head on occurred. There is definitely a safety issue with this truck, i have filed lemon law action and ford engineer came and drove the truck and he said there was no unusual concerns with the truck. Someone please investigate this before someone dies.

Egt failure causes truck to lose power and shut down on side of road. This has happened on two different trucks of the same model & year.

The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250. The contact stated that the front driver side seat belt malfunctioned and failed to retract when unbuckled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. Radiator failed at 47,500 miles. Ford refuses to fix. Have read multiple instances of defective radiators failing from new to 100,000 miles. This website lists complaints and average mileage. Http://repairpal.com/coolant-leak-from-radiator-931.

Vehicle just hit 75,500 miles and the water pump broke.upon further research, i found that this is not an uncommon problem with this particular truck.considering that i bought this vehicle for hauling animals, this puts me in a bind and i am lucky that something didn't go while on the trip to pick up a horse that had to be cancelled for this weekend.considering that this seems to be a common issue for trucks that are supposed to be reliable, i would appreciate it if someone would look into it as an area to be addressed in future production of these vehicles and possibly existing vehicles as well.some people who have had their water pumps replaced were lucky enough to have it fall under warranty, however some, like myself, are not that fortunate and have a nice, hefty bill to pay for a recurrently faulty product.

There is no way to secure rear facing infant child seat into vehicle. No clips or rings to attach the carrier to. Seatbelt alone is not sufficient. Infant carrier is equipped with clips on both sides to attach to secure rings at base of seat. My ford focus has clips for three rear facing sears. Why not the truck?

We went to slow down and the brakes didn't feel right and wasn't stopping the truck by the time we did stop the brakes where smoking.

Sponge brake pedal dealer said nothing is wrong

When driving down the road and i start to brake the vehicle my foot travels half the distance to the floor before the brakes engage and start to stop vehicle.this happens on highway and residential driving. Made my concerns known to ford dealer but i get a printout of how "new" brakes work.when i made it clear to avoid accidents i had to pump brakes in order to engage brakes to stop vehicle, dealer again indicates that is the way it is to work.had dealer service representative climbed into truck and depress brakes while vehicle was stopped with transmission in parked and declared "no problems" and "brakes worked as it should".when i agian mention it only happens when driving or vehicle in motion, dealer again advises this is the new booster.i have repeatedly mention that the brakes or booster are defective i get no reponse from dealer. Request nhtsa investigate the problems with the brakes.i have avoided accidents by pumping brake pedal to engagebrakes sooner.

The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250. The contact stated that while driving, he had to slam on the brakes to avoid crashing into a vehicle that had turned in front of him. The brake pedal went soft while pressed down. The vehicle was taken to ron tirapelli ford (4355 w. Jefferson st, shorewood, il 60404, (815) 725-3033). The dealer checked the brakes and recommended that the brake pads be changed and the brake lines be bled to remove air in the system. The contact picked up the vehicle and tested the brake pedal and the brake pedal went down to the floorboard. The contact had the manager step on the brake pedal and it went down to the floor. The dealer made an appointment the next day and provided complete service check. The failure recurred again while driving 45 mph. The contact took the vehicle back to the same however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 95,000. The vin was not available.

On march 27,2021. I was returning from a shopping trip. I pulled into my drive way parked, turned off the truck. Opened door and immediately smelled hot brakes. I turned looked to rear of vehicle noticed smoke rising from driver and passenger side. I immediately grabbed garden hose a sprayed down the brakes rear and front, water turned to steam instantly.as to when the brakes locked up i cannot pin point, but going to say when i turned to my street which is just under 3/4 mile from house. Once i was sure vehicle was safe i called service department to make an appointment to initiate repairs. Repairs complete april 6, 2021. I did not receive any real answer as to the cause.

We came to a red light and the brakes failed to stop we had to put the truck to a sudden stop by using the trailer switch. We called the dealer but they said they couldn't help so we had to make the repairs on a back roadwe could not find any company willing to tow truck and trailer so we got a ride to a parts store and got the parts oem brake pads and calipers, problem is the truck is showing signs of same issue with 130 miles on repair.

I drove thru 12" of snow on my road to my home.the brake pedal went to the floor and i had no braking power at all.i checked if there was any leaks and there were none.the temp was about 20 degrees at this time.i waited until the next day when the temp was at 30 degrees and tried the brakes again and they were at full strength.i called dealer and was told they never heard of problem before.i called ford cust care dept and described what happened.they told me that they would need to duplicate the brake issue to repair it..at this point neither dealer or ford is willing to drill down to find out what had happened.i do not feel safe in this vehicle at this time.

Soft pedal, brake system pedal pressure has movement when starting. While driving has limited stopping power.

Death wobble occurs over 60mph. Took place five times within 15 minutes.

The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250. The contact stated while driving 50 mph, the vehicle experienced the death wobble. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated he was able to drive the vehicle to his destination. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and was informed the front steering damper was needing to be replaced. It is almost impossible to keep this truck between the lines on the road. It has about 4 inches of play in the steering wheel and overcorrecting this is even more dangerous....i'm scared to drive it

We have experienced death wobble on the highway multiple times.this is absolutely a safety hazard and needs to be addressed before someone is killed.having to slow down rapidly to 30 mph on the interstate is not safe. Our truck is under ford's extended warranty.first they blamed it on the tires so we had them replaced and that did not fix it.now, they have replaced the entire front end twice without a resolution.the truck now shakes slightly at all times no matter what speed.

Death wobble around 45 mph

Traveling on bumpy roads at 55 to 60 mph the front end will start to shake so violently that in order to maintain control i had to brake and pull to the side of the road.this happened several times in a day and i took the truck into a ford dealer in minnesota.this dealership put a dampener on the front end and i thought it was solved.however, the problem has started again in jan of 2013.this is a very serious shake and i feel it will cause a accident if not resolved.

The truck went into a wobbling front wheel situation when i hit an irregular pavement stretch. It has also happened when you go over an expansion joint on a bridge or hit a bump or pothole at freeway speeds.

This incident occurred on saturday, june 14, 2014: road conditions were dry, temperature 75 degrees.extremely dramatic wheel wobbling.traveling on interstate, approximately 65 mph, drove over several small bumps in the road when the shaking and wobbling started.truck started veering into left lane of interstate.we thought our wheels were coming off due how violent this action was.gently applied brakes, and shaking/wobbling subsided around 30 mph and pulled off of the interstate.first thing accomplished was going around and checking each tire to see if they were loose.they were secure.have an appointment tomorrow morning, june 17, 2014 at the ford dealership where truck was purchased.to say we were terrified is an understatement.

Driving to dallas, tx. On freeway and hit a small bump. Truck went into front end speed wobble. Had to slow to about 30 mph before i could regain control of steering wheel. This happened 3 times on a crowded freeway.

At approx 60 to 75 mph upon hitting uneven payment or bumps in road the front wheels start an uncontrollable wobble , steering wheel shakes so bad can keep hands on to steer and no steering is possible, if brakes applied only gets worst, must coast down to a stop , u cannot steer. I replace all shocks and steering dampener, still had wobble after wards. Fords answer is to carry weight in the rear, and not to drive above 60 mph. This is unsat.i have been advised the caster setting which is not adjustable is only 1 degree forward and needs to be 3 degrees forward. Ford says this makes it harder to turn in a parking lot.please help ford do am recall before someone gets killed.in all 8 of my wobbles three i came across the center lane before i could stop and the others off road in the ditch.

Last year i do believe it was six two of 2016 that i left my 2012 ford f-250 in colorado because it was malfunction was death wobble i had no choice but to leave it with the person that i thought i could trust by the name of [xxx]my name is [xxx][xxx] had the truck stolen from him he didn't bother to make a police report and i had to go to rehab because i was on the run from probation i didn't find out that the truck was stolen until february 15th 2017 the truck was stolen last year in september i don't know when i just noticed september of 2016 so i need any kind of report of to wear that truck has last been pulled over if it's been involved in an accident something that i can maybe find where it's at because i cancelled out payments on it and december because i was going to i know it's a hard story to believe let the bank repo it now the bank can't find it i've made a police report in colorado and i can't get access to the police report i know it's a hard story to believe but it's the god's honest truth i do have pictures of the truck the license plate number is [xxx] so i will be more than willing to give all the info i can but i'm not sure if we can locate it but thanks for your time my phone number is [xxx] please call me so i can find out what i can do to fix this issue right away.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

While traveling on a freeway at around 65 mph, if i hit any minor bump or uneven surface during a sweeping curve, the whole front of the truck and steering wheel shakes violently until i pull to the side of the road. This is commonly referred to as the "death wobble". This has happened multiple times.

When going over 50mph and hitting a bump the vehicle will shake and vibrate uncontrollably. The steering wheel will shake so violently that it is difficult to control the steering. Must come to a complete stop for the shaking and vibration to stop. This is extremely dangerous in traffic and especially if you are unable to pull to the side of the road as in driving in the mountains.vehicle has been in the shop several times and problem was reproduced by the technician. Several suspension parts have been replaced at a high cost and problem has not been resolved.research has shown that this is a problem with ford trucks and no resolution has been provided by ford.

My 2012 f-250 has 126,000 miles on it and i have been experiencing a steering vibration at about 50-55 mph while driving over bumps and rough roads. About a week ago i was coming down a mountain highway and drove over some rough areas in the road at about 50 mph and the truck started vibrating and shaking violently. I had little control and almost went off the side of of the highway which has about a 2000 foot drop. I didn't think i would be able to stop but got it slowed down and the vibration went away. I have never been so scared. The past few days i have been reading online about ford's f-250 "death wobble". I am certain this is what i experienced and have checked the front suspension and found no obvious problem. With as many complaints i have read about this issue i'm surprised there has not been any talk of a recall. I am a retired ase certified master tech dealership technician and from what i have read the main problem is the trac bar & ball joint wearing prematurely and not enough positive caster which is non adjustable for this model. I can see these components possibly causing this issue. Please do something before someone s killed!

Ford f250 truck - front end suspension and 4 wheel drive problems.since march of this year 2016, @ 90k miles, while driving down the road, traveling around 50 mph, the front suspension on my ford f250 started shaking and wobble uncontrollable.this has happened probably 20 times or so.the wobble was so serious and scary.i would have to apply my brakes and hold onto the steering wheel with a strong grab, to keep my truck on the road.other vehicles around mine, would scatter out of my way.on october 17, 2016, i had the steering damper replaced and the track bar ball replaced, costing $361.71."death wobble", was still happening.last month on november 14, 2016, i took my truck into our local ford dealership for repairs on the suspension problem - "death wobble".repairs included, bar - front suspension ti, joint asy - ball, nut, end asy - drag link rod, rod, rod asy - drag link, adjuster asy @ 2, all replaced with new parts.replace drag ink and end, install adjusters for castor, front end alignment (4 wheel drive).the ford dealership was even aware of this existing problem with the ford f250 suspension, from previous complains and repairs.my repair cost was $1205.07.now my 4 wheel drive will not lock in on the front end.i have an appointment, taking my truck back to ford dealership tomorrow morning for additional repairs.this is a major safety issue on these vehicles and something must be done about it.a recall should and must be mandatory for the public safety.this issue will end up killing someone (if, it has not already) if, a recall is not ordered immediately.

While drive my 2012 ford f-250 at speeds of 65+, the steering wheel start to shake violently after driving over a bump in the road. I have researched this and found it is commonly known as a death wobble. The videos found on youtube replicate it correctly. I'm not sure what other damage it may have caused to my truck. It has been happening since i bought the truck. I've bought an adjustable track bar and tried many different tires combinations. I have not found a solution.

The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 mph and hit a bump, the steering wheel shook. As a result, the contact reduced the vehicle in speed in order to avoid a crash. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the track bar however, the failure recurred. The failure was not remedied. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 117,500.

Above about 40mph, very strong shaking in steering that is unable to be controlled unless i slow down.vehicle very difficult to control.this has been referred to as "death wobble" on these trucks and i have been experiencing it for years.i finally decided to file a complaint.

Getting the death wobble, have replaced the shocks and damper, not luck. The steering wheel shakes violently sometimes when hit a bump at 60 miles per hour. Its terrible.

Traveling at various speeds the truck front vibrate violently.i have to pull off the roadand stop to get the vibration to stop.the tires have been balanced and rebalanced.the vehicle is still in the stock configuration. I have approximately 140k miles now.

When driving on i95 (intestate) at a nominal 65-70 mph spontaneously, the truck starts shaking and as time progresses it gets so bad it makes the truck very difficult to control. During the event the first reaction is to hold the truck in a lane while braking. That exacerbates the violence of the shaking until below 30 mph. This has gotten progressively worst over a weeks time. Most recently it almost caused a collision with a large truck. This happened when the truck was new and the dealer repaired something at no cost under warranty. Nowi must pay for a repair for something i believe is a significant design problem and safety hazard.

Firs started vibrating beyond my control when i hit a small bump while travelling approximately 50mph, had worn bushing and other replacements and continues to occur periodically. The shaking is so severe that the truck cannot be steered and only stops when i get below 20mph. It has now occurred at speeds from 35 to 70mph and the truck is unsafe to drive.

While driving at speeds above 50 mph on both city and highway roads the front end and steering wheel start to wobble and vibrate to a point where control of the vehicle is almost lost.the only way to remedy the wobble/vibration is to hit the brakes and slow the vehicle down.this only occurs when driving over uneven pavement, pot holes or washboard roads.my research has revealed that this is a very common problem with the f250s and is commonly referred to as the "death wobble".the 2 dealers i brought it to even agreed that it is a common problem that they have been dealing with.this problems occurs almost every highway trip i take.

As reported from previous owners, death wobble has happened a number of times.i get wobble at different times in driving.i had driven 240 miles on the highway with no problems.as i approached a traffic light to make a left turn, the steering wheel started to wobble and felt like it wanted to lock up.i pulled over to check front wheels with not noticing anything wrong started driving and wobble was gone.the steering wheel has started doing more of the "death wobble" at any speed.i spoke with the ford dealer and they didn't have an answer.when you spend $65,000.00 and this happens the manufacturer should be sending out recall notices. The manufacture knows about this and changed it on newer vehicles so they must know what the problem is. Let's hope no one gets killed or serious injured from the death wobble.is ford ready to fight this in court on a class action lawsuit? my vehicle has 149,000 miles on it and started around 130,000 miles.

It has happened twice and now i am too scared to drive it. It shakes violently at 65 to 75 miles an hour. Truely a death sentence to drive it.feels like both front tires blow out. I slow and pull to shoulder and nothing visually is wrong. I just recently took to ford dealer ship, they have had it for a week with no answers. So have you heard of this?

Death wobble. Truck was uncontrollable, shook so bad that i thought i was going to run off the road. Has happened 3 times. Ford claims it is an expected issue.

2012 f250 with the death wobble inthe front end. Driving truck down highway at 70 mph and the front end just start to shake and feel like the front end is coming out from under the truck. Had to almost come to a complete stop before it would stop shaking. Take truck to ford to get fixed and i'm told that it will not be cover under warranty. The two front ball joints go out and the track bar at 39k miles. They tell me that it is not cover under the power train warranty. From what i'm told ford know this is a problem and has not fixed it yet.

Violent shaking of entire truck (requiring driver to pull off highway/roads- at risk) - speed approx ~45-70mph highway/or back roads.this incident (upon research) is known and called the 'death wobble'.this issue causes a full loss of control of the vehicle. There is a known issue here (search internet on ford 250 death wobble for video evidence - many instances)ford must take corrective action.i now have a 2012 vehicle which is not safe to drive. Issue is ongoing and occurred on many dates many times ex. Driving approximately 5-7 miles home from groton ct to niantic ct - forced to pull off to side of highway 3 out of the 4 times the 'death wobble' ensued.

While traveling to oklahoma , i was going 70 mph and hit a bump and experienced a violent shaking and had to slow to 45 too regain control. This was on 10/13/2019. I later learned that this is so common in fords that it has the nickname ' death wobble"

The truck has what they call the death wobbleits is very scary and dangerous.there are hundreds if not thousands for complaints out the on the internet this is a big problem and ford should be responsiblebefore people get killed if its not already happened. It shakes uncontrollably as soon as you you hit a bridge connector or a bump or any imperfection on the road when you doing tiger rate of speedaprox 60 to 70 mph. And very dangerous when y9our on the highwaysit also can happen if the wheels area at a certain angle and you hit a bump in the road.you ha e to slow down to about 10 or 15 mph and can to hit the brakes.or gas to get out of it.

Truck has less than 70k miles and is exhibiting the stereo typical death wobble.when traveling over 50 mph any bump in the road may produce an uncontrollable shudder.the only solution is to rapidly slow until the truck stops shaking.this has occurred multiple times over the last several months.ford will not acknowledge the problem.i have had the truck aligned to verify the serviceability of the steering components.i have replaced all 4 shocks and ensured that my tires are properly balanced.tires are wearing consistently and have been regularly rotated and balanced.when the death wobble occurs my ability to control the truck is severely degraded and i am afraid the situation could prove catastrophic.

Currently have 53k miles.problem rare, started at 10k or less.with our wilthout pickup camper loads:at 60mph or higher when hitting bridge expansion joints or rr tracks (particularly at angles) in which one wheel strikes irregularity first, a violent wheel and steering wheel shake begins.must immediatly slow vehicle to stop it.complete loss of vehicle control when active.total of perhaps 6 occurrences.currently in shop for investigation.serious safety issue.

The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250. While driving 65 mph, the contact drove in the middle two lanes to avoid a collision with a vehicle that had pulled over to the side of the road and opened the driver's door. While passing the other vehicle, the contact's vehicle shook violently and the contact lost control of the vehicle. Also, the brake pedal failed to operate. The contact was able to regain control of the vehicle once the speed slowed down to 35 mph. The vehicle was taken to desoto automall (3039 se 70, arcadia, fl 34266) where it was diagnosed that the failure was called the "ford death wobble". The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was also contacted and did not assist. The failure mileage was 128,000. The vin was unavailable.

The death wobblemy f-250 truck has been having a death wobble since i bought it ,i first took it in to ford service department with10,212 vehicle miles on the truck because of the death wobble , and have taken the truck several times for the death wobble since then . Ford motor company has never fixed this problem , they only make minor changes "bandaid"to the truck and it is still not fixed , they keep putting me off and say there is no solution to this problem. I have several pages ofservice repairs ford has performed but they have never fixed the death wobble .my ford f-250 still has low mileage but is not safe to drive. My family and i have came very close to a roll over at 70 mph on the interstate from when we hit a bump in the road. Every time the truck rolls over a bump at any speed above 20 mphit goes into a wobble and becomes very hazardous and scary. We bought this f-250 king ranch to drive and enjoy on vacations and other family trips , but at this time my family and i don't feel safe riding in it,nor having it on the road ways in fear of it being a danger to us and other drivers or pedestrians.this f-250 goes into a death wobblewhen encountering a bump in the road , on public county roads, city streets ,state highways andespeciallyinterstates at highway speeds. I have contacted our local dealer several timeson this issue while the vehicle was under warranty. I have contacted ford motor corporation on this issues as well. Yet neither one of these entities of ford motor company have assume responsibility .regards

The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250. The contact stated that while traveling various speeds, the contact had to turn the steering wheel excessively in order to maneuver the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired.the dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure.the failure mileage was 8,000.

Driving at highway speeds of 55 - 65mph and hit a slight bump in the road the entire front end of the vehicle shakes uncontrollably. In order to get this to stop you must slam on the brakes to bring the speed down to 15 - 20 mph. Ford dealership service adviser and mechanic acknowledge this issue exists and has since 2005 but there isn't any resolution for the issue. My vehicle has been in the shop 3 different times for over a month in total time. Ford region customer service manager states the issue is the road. I find it odd there are may other ford truck owners with the same issue.

The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250. While driving 45 mph over a dip in the road, the front end of the vehicle shook violently (death wobble) and the vehicle was uncontrollable. Once the vehicle was restarted, it operated normally. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to prescott brothers ford lincoln of princeton (1502 w peru st, princeton, il, (815) 875-1180) where it was diagnosed that the tie rod was worn out and the steering damper needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the local dealer. The contact requested that the manufacturer buy back the vehicle. The contact researched the failure online and found that the failure was common in several vehicles. The failure mileage was 29,000. The vin was not available.

Bought vehicle with 89,000 miles in 2013; currently have 124,000 miles. About 3 months ago, vehicle started a shake in steering, lasting 1-2 seconds, whenever a large pothole/bump on 11/17/2015, while driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle started the "death wobble", lasting approximately 30 seconds, until the vehicle got slowed down below 30 mph. Continued to work, keeping the speed below 60 mph, and then the same on the way home, and problem didn't occur. Vehicle has stock tires, and no additional lifts.

While driving my vehicle on the highway it will inadvertantly begin to shake uncontrollably. This will continue until the speed is almost reduced to a stop. This has happened multiple times regardless of the tire tread wear. Has occurred with brand new tires.

When i'm driving down the road i in my 2012 f-250 i get death wobble, the front tires start shaking like crazy and the steering wheel and whole truck shakes like you can't imagine, it starts around 50mph and gets really bad about 60-65mph. I have replaced ball joints, tie rods, shocks, wheel bearings, steering stabilizer, u joints and track bar bushing, none of it fixed it. I can't figure out how to fix it. It about runs you off the road it's so bad sometimes and you have no control of steering wheel.

Our super duty is one of the ones affected by the death wobble.how anyone can say it's not a safety issue is beyond me.drive 40 mph and have it shake so bad it crosses the center line or drive any speed from 40 to 75 mph on the highway and go over a bump or change in pavement and have it shake so bad you need to hit the brakes to slow it while traffic is going at 70.very dangerous.ford has the simple solution but won't let it out.cambers are factory set at 4.2 which causes the problem.changing to3.5 fixes it.ford could have recalled them back in 2007 and stopped factory settingsof 4.2.we spent over $1500 on front end repairs, pllus shocks and tires which was money thrown out. We were told to put new rotors and calipers to correct it.no way. Tomorrow it goes in to have the cambers reset. Oh over $700 also to replace all bushings before a ford company mechanic told us about the cambers.the wobble may be the reason so many vehicles cross into oncoming traffic.that wobble is bone jarring and my wife has 20 floating spurs in her neck so it's painful for her.bought the truck in 2016 and the problem is still there.

The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250. The contact stated while driving 65 mph, the vehicle started shaking abnormally. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated. The consumer stated that the vehicle is continuously shaking even with the vehicle being repaired.

2012 f250 purchased new and no modifications ever.i have always run the stock michelin tires.beginning in or about 2015 i have experienced a severe steering wobble when driving at speeds over 50 mph when at least one of the tires hits a groove, bump or pothole in the road. The only way to control the violent shaking is to quickly reduce the speed and pulling onto the shoulder.

I was driving down the road and hit a small seam in the road at approx. 60 mph after hitting the small seam my whole truck began shaking violently to a point where i had no control over the vehicle. Once this happened i began reducing speed and as the speed was reduced the shaking was reduced as well. I had to come to a complete stop in order to stop the shaking. Once stopped the truck drove fine for a week then did it again and since has done it in the two week following. The dealership looked at it and said they could see nothing wrong and that everything was tight.

When driving 60mph, out of no where the front end started wobbling like crazy. We almost got in an accident. After slowing down it stopped. This happened again on our way home. We were driving on a one lane highway. This is extremely dangerous and scary. Thank god my husband was driving.

Death wobble after crossing expansion joints, potholes, asphalt level change.so severe that you must instantly brake hard and try to get off highway.happens at 75 mph. Shakes so severe that items on back seat are thrown off. Happened at

Driving at 65 miles per hour on a slight right turn, the steering wheel shakes violentlyscares my wife and daughter so bad they want me to trade for a gmc.

Traveling on florida i 95 north at 74mph my family and i went over a bridge expansionjoint that was no more than 1-1/2" drop and the front end of my truck started shaking so violently the steering wheel almost was jerked out of my hands. I had to slow down in heavy traffic and get to the side of the road, the violent shimmy stopped as my speed got down to 35mph. This is the second time we experienced this kind of reaction going over a bump at hwy. Speeds. The ford dealer (sunrise ford in fort pierce, fl.) changed the front steering stabilizer strut, still having the same problem 100miles later. We were traveling on a straight section of the interstate when this happened. We were in the middle lane of the three lane hwy.

Steering wheel shakes and the fronttires wobble , after hitting a bump, not all the time . Change everything under the front end and still the same thing. Death wobble above 55 mph.

When traveling at speeds in excess of 50 mile an hour the vehicle is subject to doing a death wobble when crossing uneven pavement or hitting bumps. The vehicle shakes so violently that it becomes hard to control and has to come to a stop to regain full control. I have this nice truck that i have to avoid interstate travel because of fear of hurting myself or someone else. I have had bearings and track bar replaced, had truck realigned and tires balanced to try to fix the problem with no luck. I'm getting ready to purchase a steering stabilizer to try but i'm running out of options and money to sink in truck but it has to be fixed. After a lot of research and talking to others with similar problem it sounds like ford needs to step up and have a fix for the problem. They charge premium prices for their products but mine has to set at the house or travel back roads to stay safe. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My local tire man described this as a "death wobble" and that is aa good description.as i drive usually at 55 mph the truck suddenly starts to shake, no prior warning, so hard it is hard to hold onto the steering wheel.o far i have been able to pull off to the side of the road and slow to a stop without a wreck.i can then proceed as if nothing has occurred. This seems to be getting more frequent. And makes me nervous when i drive.. I have learned from my tire man there are other owners in my are having this same problem with their ford trucks.we have had fords since the '70's and never had this problem with any other one.i understand there is a part or something that can be done to fix this problem; however it costs $400-$500 andi think this is something that ford should fix, not the owner, when it seems to be a ford problem.whether in design or whatever.i even had a ford serviceman tell me that this is a problem sometimes with ford .this is a frightening thing and i about had a heart attack the first time it happened.. Luckily i was alone and didn't frighten anyone else. This has happened numerous times firstin 2014 .i will put the lasttime in the space below and i did have a friend with me that time.

Ford refers to the issue as a steering isolation problem. The public calls it the "death wobble."at highway speeds, certain bumps will set off a resonance in the front axle and steering system that makes the vehicle extremely difficult to control as the steering wheel shakes violently and the front wheels oscillate horizontally. This has happend about a dozen times over the past two years and continues to happen eventhough i have paid the dealer for expensive repairs that were supposed resolve the issue. Ford refuses to address the issue in a manner that will resolve the problem. Therefore, i have a vehicle that is dangerous to drive.

Going 70-80mph on rt119 north bound after going over a bridge truck started violently shaking with no control. Slowed down and kept going. After about 7 miles and going below 50mph the truck did the same thing.

While driving 60 mph, truck hit irregularities in the road. Vehicle started shaking violently and lost control of the steering. Vehicle had to be slowed to 10-15 mph before the shaking stopped. No accident or injury occurred on this incident. Truck was taken to dealer and track bar assy / bushing was replaced. The second serious incident was @ 48,000 miles a mere 11,000 miles later. While traveling 55-60 mph through a left hand curve and crossing another irregularity in the road (bridge-pavement joint) the truck again began shaking violently and caused thevehicle to go into the oncoming lane of traffic where a log truck was traveling. The log truck was able to get on the shoulder of the road in time to prevent an accident. Again the truck had to be slowed to almost a complete stop before the shaking stopped. Truck was taken to dealer again and the only thing replaced was the track bar bushing. This vehicle is not safe!

While driving down straight down the highway about 50 mph. I crossed a bridge expansion joint and the front of the pickup shook violently. I had to apply the brakes firmly and pull to the shoulder quickly. I thought the front end of the truck was coming apart and i was going to wreck. This had never happened before and there was no warning prior to the event. I had been driving about 20 miles before this occur. It happened again several days later. I only have 28k miles on it. My friend later told me this was the 'death wobble' and that he had it on his f250-2012. He said it required replacement of a suspension bar(track bar) on the front of the truck which i had done. No further problem have been noted since replaced..1 week ago. The shop where i had the work done said they have fixed about 70 trucks and it will occur again when the ball joint on the bar wears out again. I have a king ranch model with 20 inch tires that may be a contributing factor. Other people i know with f250s and 18 inch tires have not noticed this problem.

Driving at 55 mph, hit a bump in the road and front end and steering shook violently. Unable to control steering, made violent maneuver into median.

I have a 2012 ford f-250 with 185k miles.i was driving along la 23 at about 65 mph in louisiana when i crossed a bridge, passing over where the highway meets the bridge when my steering wheel began to shake violently and lost ability to maneuver the truck.i slowed down to 10 mph in the right lane where the shake diminished.experienced this approximately five more times recording the shake on my phone,i searched the internet when i got home and discovered the term "death wobble" occurring at speeds between 55-70.my truck begins to wobble violently when i hit a bump or joist in the interstate.requires me to slow down to app 10mph on the side of the interstate to make it go away.death wobble began to occur on thursday, 17 sep while traveling for work and i had to drive less than 50 mph the remainder of my way home.i took the truck to the nearest ford dealership on friday morning to address and fix the problem where they replaced numerous front end parts to the tune of $2100.00.picked the truck top on a saturday morning and by monday afternoon the wobble occured again traveling on i-12 at 65 mph near mandeville, la. I had to proceed 50 mph home where i took the vehicle back to the dealership immediately for further evaluation.truck is currently at the local dealership, supreme ford, in slidell, la for further evaluation.i have several videos capturing the wobble but am unable to upload to the website.

While driving 60 mph over highway steering and front wheels starting shaking so violently the truck was out of control and nearly caused major accident, this has happened to us on three occasions. I feel this problem is very dangerous and is a flaw in the design of steering, suspension of front wheels of truck, i am afraid to drive this $67000.00 vehicle with 48000 miles. I have taken this truck in and repair shop says there is no problem, i have it in shop again waiting for another opinion! i feel this vehicle type be recalled, i hope nobody dies from this flaw inmy vehicle and it is why i wanted to report this very dangerous vehicle 2012 ford f-250 king ranch death wobble driving conditions on three different occasions were on highway conditions driving over small pavement bumps at speeds ranging from 60 to 70 mph straight roads and also turning on curves, the truck shakes so violently that you loose control truck shaking continues until the truck almost comes to a stop while you are braking to slow down. This happens so fast and without any warning in steering or road feel , this occurs with such surprise and so violently out of nowhere

Experiencing a severe front end shimmy, also known as the death wobble.i've replaced tires and almost all front end components.this has been going on since i bought the truck used, and no one can seem to cure it.happens whenever i hit a small bump on the highway and is extremely dangerous as the truck must be brought to a complete stop to end the wobble

Truck began shaking uncontrollably on several occasions above 60 mph. Front wheels wobbled and shuck violently.they got into a rhythm that keeps the shaking going until i reduce speed to about 25mph.i have almost lost control and crashed.had to aggressively brake which also almost caused other cars to rear end me on the interstate. Common timing seems to be when i am driving over overpass with raised ridges connecting the bridge sections or when i cross grooves in the road.very dangerous and likely to cause an accident soon

My 2012 f250 started having a death wobble in july of 2020. I had a ford dealership in snyder tx replace my steering dampener in aug of 2020. The problem just started again october 13. The truck only has 140000 miles on it. The dealership in snyder tx said that the front end components are in great shape and said that the dampener should fix the problem.it has not. This wobble happens at hwy speeds . I have to break hard to try and slow it down as soon as possible.

Death wobble in steering which pulled truck onto on coming traffic .. Dangerous and ford should correct ongoing problem with peopleā€™s safety

My truck is experiencing the death wobble, this has happened many times with one incident of my wife losing control. I took the truck to the ford dealership and they told me that i needed new tires. I got new tires and an alignment and the truck had the death wobble again. I took the truck back to ford and all they could tell me is to look at the service advisory and decide if i wanted to pay for them to fix the problem. I only had 50,000 miles one the truck and could not understand why i would have to come out of pocket for this issue. This is a very serious and scary issue that's is going to end up killing someone if it hasn't already

The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250. The contact stated that while driving at 50 mph, the vehicle loss power steering assist without warning after driving over a pothole. The vehicle resumed normal drivability after a few seconds. The vehicle was taken to courtesy buick gmc abbeville (1201 u s 167, abbeville, la 70510) where it was diagnosed and determined that the steering column needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

Traveling at freeway speeds when the truck hits a bump or issue in/on the road the front wheels start to shake violently and i am barely able to control the truck until it slows to around 10 mph, i have now replaced all the steering components and it has gotten worse and i have almost rolled my truck. When i have contacted ford dealers they all tell me that they have never heard of this issue but for $6,000 to $10,000 they can replace all the suspension parts and that should fix the unusual problem that only i am having.

I was driving the speed limit of 65 mph on the interstate, when the truck went over a rough spot in the road and began to shake uncontrollably.i could not steer do thesteering wheel and the front of the truck shaking so violently.i managed to get the truck slowed down quickly and over onto the median.i stopped and got out to check around and under the vehicle and found nothing. As i attempted to get up to speed and merge back onto the highway the truck started shaking again. After getting up to about 50 mph it smoothed out.i took the truck to discount tire and had the wheels rebalanced and the front checked with no problems noted.the truck has done this about 4 or 5 more times since and it always after you go over a rough spot in the road.the vehicle shakes so bad that you cannot control it and you have to stand on the brake to slow it down enough to be able to steer it.this can result in a major accident or death!!!i have also had problems with the transmission since the truck was new.when it shifts from 1st to 2nd sometimes there is a long delay where the throttle is pushed down and the truck does nothing for approximately 5 seconds, this has occurred numerous times in intersections and can cause you to be struck in the side.i have had the truck to the shop 3 times and they changed the transmission body and the transmission pump and it still continues to have the problem...

Traveling on interstate 65 south from montgomery, al headed home to defuniak springs, fl, was crossing a bridge that had bumps in the road from what i think were where bridge road sections. I was in the far left lane of a four part of the highway going about 65 mph when i felt the bumps in the road and all of a sudden my 2012 ford f250 fx4 started a violent shaking in the front end of my truck so bad i could not control the vehicle! i thought the front end of my truck was coming loose from the vehicle! i could barely hold onto the steering wheel! i reduced speed as quickly as i could as i maneuvered over to the emergency lane far right. Thank god without an accident! a policeman stopped to assist me once i had the vehicle stopped on the right shoulder of the interstate and i told him i was already searching for the nearest ford dealers for help. Local dealers were telling me i would need to have several front end suspension parts replaced, but would have to order parts and be several days before they could do work. I googled what happened and found out this was happening at an alarming rate for a lot of ford f250 and f350 truck owners. It is called the "the ford f250/f350 death wobble"! apparently this is a ford design defect that causes this to happen at any mileage on vehicle. I decided to try to slowly drive my truck back to our home in defuniak springs, fl and was able to do so. The truck seemed to be okay after the incident as i drove back home at a slow speed. I have been fearful since to drive more than 60mph with it and my wife wil not drive the truck anymore! ford needs to fix this!!

New 2012 ford f250, super duty, 4x4, crew cab truck, purchased 11/2013.approx. 1 month prior, the truck began having a vibration at highway speeds (75% highway driving, 25% city).the vibration got worse over the course of a day.the 2nd day the front passenger tire exhibited a large bulge (tread separation) on the inside two tread grooves.ford replaced the tire, with another of the same brand and model.on 6/30/2014, the front driver tire, with no warning, developed the same issue, a large bulge in the inside tread grooves.the tires are continental contitrac lt275/65r18 123/120s tires, dot# a3b9 479b 2511.both tires had very little tire wear and the wear was even across the tire surface, the tires showed no sign of potential failure.i did get to see the inside of the second failed tire, there did not appear to be any damage except the cord separation which was not visible from either the inside or outside of the tire;i did take photos.i contacted ford's corporate number and awaiting a call from the dealer's service manager, and regional service manager in reference to this safety concern.ford did state they would contact nhtsa; ford reference number cas04645143-z4t8t9.each time i have to replace the continental tire under warranty ford has to locate the tire and it is not easy to locate.in addition, every new ford f250 on the dealers lot has another name brand tire, which i believe indicates ford has issue with the continental tires.i searched the nhtsa data base and found almost the exact same incident; nhtsa id# 10568111.i also found numerous similar complaints about the tire model.i attempted to contact continental, case #[xxx], the call taker read from a script and could offer no help.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I currently own a 2012 f-250 lariat 6.7 liter diesel and i started having what some may call a "death wobble" on my front end sometimes it's not that bad but at other times from 40-60mph it gets so bad i have to pull over. I'm so frustrated with it and im even afraid to let my wife drive it in fear that something bad may happen one day. Ford deliberately refuses to recognize the problem and tries to offer bandaids for the problem i need this fixed because i didn't spend 70k on a truck that i'm afraid to drive. Please do something before a lawsuit i join a lawsuit and get this matter taken above everyone else's heads. This is something that thousands of people are experiencing just by looking online.

Severe shaking in front end around 60mph. Truck becomes uncontrollable and very dangerous. "death shudder"

My ford f-250 super duty started what many refer to as the "death wobble" at 65,000 miles.the first instance of this occurred when my 18 year old daughter was driving the truck (with me in the passenger seat) to visit colleges.while traveling at highway speed (78 mph) we went over a concrete to asphalt transition and the entire front end started violently bouncing or wobbling back and forth like a shopping cart wheel would.she obviously panicked and i had to tell her to slow the truck to 25 mph (on a highway) to regain control.we ended up in median as there was total loss of steering control during the event.this particular trip was from houston to lubbock and i drove the remainder of the trip to and from experiencing the same death wobble another 4 times.i tooke the truck in and had replacement parts put in and condition continued.returned the truck to legacy ford in rosenberg, tx for fix and they indicated that they could not replicate the problem. Please note that the truck is 100% stock with good michelin tires.a simple google search will yield hundreds of complaints of this exact problem.

While driving at approximately 75mph on an interstate; after hitting a bump or expansion joint the front end wobbles uncontrollably until the speed is reduced by about half. I had a trusted mechanic look at my truck and he said all front end parts were in good condition and tight. He talked to a dealer who recommended replacing the steering damper as a cure for the "death wobble" issue.i had that replaced around the first of february 2021. I had not driven the truck on an interstate at speed since the replacement until tuesday, march 9, 2021.the wobble happened three separate times within a span of ten minutes scaring the daylights out of me and nearly causing two wrecks. The truck is hazardous to drive to not only myself, but to other vehicles in my vicinity while on the road.

While traveling at freeway speeds and hitting a bump, pothole or expansion joint the front end develops a horrible wobble and is very hard to control until i can get the speed below 35 mph. I am aware there is a class action lawsuit against ford motor company because of this issue. This has happened several times before and after work has been done to correct the problem.

While driving at highway speeds and going over a bump, steering wheel will oscillate violently.will have to slow down to nearly a stop to get it to stop.this happens between 60 and 65 mph hitting the right bump truck gets death wobble, has to get on the brakes hard to stop it, had dealer look at it.it has been at the ford dealership where i bought it and an independent shop and each time it has gotten a little better at each shop but still not completely fixed.

We have a f-250 king ranch super duty 4 wheel drive. When we are going over 60 mph and we hit a bump it goes into a death shake. It doesnt matter if it is a highway or country road if you hit a bump you better hold on cause your going into a death shake like no other. It is very hard to steer and control. You have to slow down to below 30 mph before it will stop. Very dangerous! i have seen on the website this is common and ford wont do anything about it. This has happened 15 times so far. We usually leave it parked at our house because it is dangerous to drive. So we pay a big note to leave it parked.

I was driving about 55 mph on the parkway, a straight road, when all of a sudden my truck started to shake and wobble to the point i almost lost control. This happened twice and i took it to my ford dealer. They knew what i was talking about and called it the "death wobble". They checked everything in the front suspension but said nothing was wrong. It has done this 4 more times. It is all i can do to control the vehicle and get it stopped. It almost caused me to have an accident. I can not make it happen, it does it when it wants to. My ford dealer wants me to duplicate it for them.

When hitting speeds above 40 i get excessive bouncing and wobbling to the point where i cannot control the vehicle and i have to slow down to about 20 miles an hour or less to stop the wobble it is scary and i no longer take my truck on the highway

The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250. While driving 40 mph, the front end of the vehicle shook and became difficult to control. The failure occurred constantly. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the drag link and the ball joints needed to be replaced. The vehicle also needed a front end alignment. The repairs were done; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 3,000.

We have had numerous instances of "death wobble" starting at a 75,000 miles. All suspension is stock, tires are stock. I had brought the truck to the dealership 4-5 times (under warranty) and got the track bar replaced, track ball bushing, and ball joint, steering damper, increase in caster and even bought new stock tires to prove out the problem.i have 125,000 miles on the truck now after fighting this issue for years and have replaced all rod ends, track bar, bushings, steering damper, etc and the death wobble still persists.this is clearly a design issue andmakes the truck dangerous to drive.the issue occurs primarily at highway speeds, while making a very slight left turn when a small bump is driven over such as an expansion joint.the severe vibration that shakes the front suspension violently back and forth does not subside until the truck is under ~20 mph (not a safe condition to be in when on the highway).during this period you can not hold the steering wheel under control, can not control the direction of the vehicle or stop quickly if required.this 'death wobble' has occurred approximately 20 time with the latest occurrence happening today.

The first time it happen (last week) i was going down the highway going 55mph (pulling a trailer), clear sky, temp in the 50's. Felt a slight shake in the steering wheel and in the floor board. Within seconds is when a extremely violent shaking started. I had to pull onto the shoulder immediately. It happen again this morning going down a different highway about 60mph, clear sky temp 42 outside and it was the worst yet. My entire entire 2012 ford f-250 was violently shaking to the point it was so sudden and abrupt we couldn't stop fast enough to stop the shaking

For the second time while traveling on major highways my truck started shaking violently to the point i could barely maintain a hold on the steering wheel.i have had my tires checked and they in good shape and balanced.the front ball joints are deemed fine.after a visit to the dealer they say they can find no problem.

When you hit a bump or pot hole in the road the front wheel start bouncing like a basket ball. It is a violent reaction. It only stop bouncing if you slow down. This will happen at speeds from 45 to 75 mph. Also when hitting bumps in the road, you loose steering control for a fraction of a second. This has caused my truck to temporarily loose control. This happens on every bump. Not good.

Violent shaking from front steering and suspension. Known problem with ford service technicians and independent tire dealers. Ford calls it " death wobble". Most affected year models are 2006 thru 2012 per service writer . Problem starts approximately 42 mph in my truck on highways or city streets usually after a small bump in road.. Shaking in steering wheel and bouncing in cab. I had to come to a complete stop to stop the shake and bounce.the ford dealer replaced track bar and ball joint.then replaced four tires , balanced, and front end alignment. Truck now has constant vibration in steering wheel.death wobble has occurred twice since repair. Going back to dealer.this problem has been reported and well known to ford.no specific cause or fix has been offered. Supposedly ford redesigned front steering and suspension in 2014 models because of this problem. The service writer, wendy,at silsbee ford in silsbee, texas told me she did not know why ford does not recall these trucks it is such a big problem.

The vehicle starts shaking violently and uncontrol able until you slam on the brakes and your speed almost drops to nothing, only until then do you have control of the vehicle. I have been lucky because nobody has been beside me or else i would of slammed into them. Components in the front end have failed, i have replace the steering control arms, had the tires rebalanced, put a rancho stabilizer, and had the ball joints checked.

My truck has the death wobble i brought this issue in several times at this time no one could tell me what the issues was over the years it became worsei fixed some of the issue at my own expense still have issues worried i may die or kill someone else when the wobble occurs

While driving on the 400 just east of augesta kansas the truck suddenly developed a "death wobble". It is called by other names as well, the steering started shaking uncontrollable and have to bring the truck to a stop.this was the second it in three weeks it hardened.it is at the deals hip now and can not find the cause.this seems to be common with the model of truck.this is very dangerous and needs to be addressed.ford must take action and not wait as long as jeep took to admit their is the problem i order to fix.

While driving over 50 mph on the highway any uneven surface in the road causes the entire front of the truck to shake violently including the steering wheel. The only way to stop the shaking is to stop the vehicle which is very dangerous on the freeway.

While driving down the interstate at 60mph the truck started violently shaking.the steering wheel was shaking uncontrollably.it was a very scary scenario.upon researching this is a known problem that ford hasn't addressed. Since then it has happened multiple times and have dubbed it unsafe to operate at 60mph. I am not the first owner of this vehicle and am not sure if this occured before 131,000 miles or not.

The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250. The contact stated that while driving at 70 mph, the front end of the vehicle hit a bump causing a "death wobble". The contact almost loss control of the vehicle but was able to regain control at approximately 10 mph. The vehicle was taken to be repaired but the failure recurred. The repairs were unknown. Collied with a vehicle stopping to make a left hand turn.damages include frame damage, smashed in front end.had to kick the driver door open to get out.no airbags ever deployed.ended up with head lacerations.

The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250. The contact stated that the flatbed of the vehicle was corroded and contained a large hole. The contact stated that the design of the flatbed trapped water and salt, which caused the heat shield and exhaust attached to the bottom of the vehicle to fail. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The contact called the manufacturer and was provided case number: cas-21767132. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,000.ma 08/11/15ma 10/8the consumer stated the vehicle was repaired. The shock absorbers were replaced. Updated 8/14/15

While driving in speeds between 55-70 and driving over a bump, bridge or pothole, my front end would shake violently; resulting in nearly losing control of the truck. I would need to come to a complete stop in order to end the violent shaking.this happened nearly 15 times when driving eastbound on i-40 between nashville and knoxville tn.i was lucky enough to have an emergency shoulder and light traffic or else it may have caused a deadly accident.i have researched this issue and most call it 'death wobble' and it is caused by the castor angle of fords front end suspension. It is know to rapidly wear bushings, joints and bearings that could ultimately cause loss of total control of a heavy duty vehicle. Multiple tsb have been issues for other year of superduty trucks and all have stated to replace worn track bars, tie rod ends, steering stabilizers and adjust the castor angle.

Ford f250 with death wobble.i have replaced all front end components $1,700 and new tires $1,200 tiires rebalanced and rotated. 4 times to local dealership but problem still continues.do i have to die in the vehicle to get someones attention?

When driving the vehicle at a normal rate of speed; upon entering 45-50mph the front end shakes violently.once the speed of 50+ mph is obtained, the shaking stops.also below 45mph the shaking stops. However, upon deceleration, below 45 mph, shaking occurs at times as well. The wobble occurs during all road conditions i.e. No bumps, smooth, flat, non hill etc., and temperatures i.e. Summer, winter, rain, sand, sleet, and normal driving conditions.

Ford f2520sd 4wd with 23,766 miles hit a small bump in the road at about 50 mph and the front end started shaking violently.had to almost stop to get it straightened out.now scared to drive it as i pull a fifth wheel trailer on the interstate.

Driving vehicle last year both my wife and myself experienced what is now know as 'the death wobble' where the front end begins to shake wildly above approx 60 miles per hour. Made an appointment with my local dealer to inspect/fix the problem and was informed my vehicle was experiencing 'death wobble' (service advisors words)common to f250's. Over 1400 dollars worth of repairs were made in june of 2018. Reported symptoms again to my dealer when truck was brought in for normal service. Was advise steering box needed to be replaced within the next year.our driving habits are to avoid any pot holes or other road anomalies we know about on the highways we drive on because the wobble can still be felt. My plan is to have the steering box replaced this week which will cost over 1000 dollars.

Having an uncontrolableshake in the front suspension.have replaced stabilizer bar once but continues having same problem.have researched and is known as "death wobble".started happening at around 60,000 miles.am up to 135,000 miles and continues to have same problems. It tends to happen at higher speeds and you hit a problem spot in road.you cannot brake just have to slow on it's own before becoming more stationary.will eventually cause accident or even death for occupants as well as surrounding vehicles

When traveling on the highway at about 65 mph, the vehicle became almost impossible to control, exhibiting violent shaking. I now know that this is known as "death wobble". I needed to slow to about 30 mph while furiously gripping the steering wheel to get the shaking to stop. This has happened 3 more times in the past two months. This is terrifying. After replacing the track bar, bushings, steering stabilizer 3 times, tie rod ends and aligning' it still is happening. I had ford dealer inspect and they acted as if they had no knowledge of this problem. They simply wanted to replace the steering stabilizer for a 4th time. After doing research, i now know that this has been an ongoing problem with ford trucks since at least 2011 and there is no way that they did not know about this. There is a tsb #18-2268 on this problem but many people have reported that this does not fix the problem. My research shows that a dual steering stabilizer is the only thing that will fix this problem. This is a part that ford does not make and must be purchased as after-market from someone like pmf, fox, kelderman or procomp.

Between 55 and 65 mph when you hit a bump in the road the truck begins to shake violently and you almost loose control. The only way to recover control of the vehicle is to slow down to almost a stop. It is called the death wobble.my truck is stock from the factory and only has 56,00o miles on it.

The vehicle will randomly shake violently causing loss of control of the truck while driving. After doing research i found people who have referred to this as the 'death wobble.' i have had repairs to my truck 3 times in the last 2 years to fix this causing me approximately $1000 each time. Most recently monday july 9, 2018. The 'repair' seems to be only temporary and each time i have it fixed it lasts 6-9 months. The dealership is unwilling to help nor is ford customer complaint department. This happens while driving 55-65 mph and after hitting a bump.

While traveling to oklahoma , i was going 70 mph and hit a bump and experienced a violent shaking and had to slow to 45 too regain control. This was on 10/13/2019. I later learned that this is so common in fords that it has the nickname ' death wobble"

Getting the death wobble, have replaced the shocks and damper, not luck. The steering wheel shakes violently sometimes when hit a bump at 60 miles per hour. Its terrible.

The vehicle had been repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000. The vin was not available.

The front of the vehicle would wobble violently upon hitting a bump or hole in the road at speeds as low as 50 mph.aggressive breaking was required to maintain control and stop the wobbling.

While traveling on a freeway at around 65 mph, if i hit any minor bump or uneven surface during a sweeping curve, the whole front of the truck and steering wheel shakes violently until i pull to the side of the road. This is commonly referred to as the "death wobble". This has happened multiple times.

My truck has the death wobble i brought this issue in several times at this time no one could tell me what the issues was over the years it became worsei fixed some of the issue at my own expense still have issues worried i may die or kill someone else when the wobble occurs

Death wobble after crossing expansion joints, potholes, asphalt level change.so severe that you must instantly brake hard and try to get off highway.happens at 75 mph. Shakes so severe that items on back seat are thrown off. Happened at

My 2012 ford f250 has experience the reported "death wobble" numerous times.you are driving along at freeway speeds (55-70 mph) hit rough road and it suddenly starts a violent wobble in the suspension.you have to slow down to almost 35 mph to get it to stop (dangerous when on the freeway).now it has started doing it anytime i go over 60 mph.i have previously experienced this and taken it to both dealerships and tire stores trying to get it fixed.i only recently found out that ford has a relatively long history with this problem but don't seem to admit that it is a problem.i have had regular dealer service for the truck during its entire lifetime.i strongly believe ford needs to step up and offer proper repairs for this very dangerous condition.

The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250. The contact stated while driving 65 mph, the vehicle started shaking abnormally. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer fairway ford of augusta inc (4333 washington rd, evans, ga 30809, (706) 854-9200) where the vehicle was repaired. The contact was unsure of what parts were replaced. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 103,000. The consumer stated that the vehicle is continuously shaking even with the vehicle being repaired.

Traveling at various speeds the truck front vibrate violently.i have to pull off the roadand stop to get the vibration to stop.the tires have been balanced and rebalanced.the vehicle is still in the stock configuration. I have approximately 140k miles now.

The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250sd. The contact stated that while driving various speeds over a road bump or pothole, the vehicle would travel out of lane without warning. The vehicle was inspected by two different dealers who were unable to locate a problem with the shocks. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for a third opinion and they replaced four shocks. The authorized dealer reimbursed the owner for the defective shocks. The manufacturer was notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 3,000.

Death wobble. Truck was uncontrollable, shook so bad that i thought i was going to run off the road. Has happened 3 times. Ford claims it is an expected issue.

The truck shakes violently at times after a bump in the road.our truck went back to the dealer several times while under warranty for this however they said since it could not be reproduced consistently nothing could be done.it has gradually gotten worse - much worse.last summer it got so bad it was scary to drive so we took it to another mechanic who put new suspension parts in the front end.after a couple thousand in repairs and many new parts, it still shakes so violently we cannot drive it safely.ford knows about these complaints - they are all over the internet and on this site so why can this not be fixed?i drove my grand-daughters in it one day two weeks ago and after not happening for days it happened and it's a wonder we did not hit the oncoming car head on.someone is going to die in one of these trucks and then maybe ford will step up and at least tell those of us that own them how to fix this problem!it seems like it rarely happens at 40 mph or below but happens quickly at 55 mph or more.if someone dies from this "death wobble" it should be ford's responsibility.

The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250. While depressing the brake pedal at low speeds, the rubber stopper struck the axle and created a loud banging noise.

When i hit abump in the road starts shaking violantly have to stop no matter abought traffic.

While driving various speeds, the vehicle swayed from left to right. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing; however, the reason for the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 98,000. The vin was not available.

The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250. While driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle suddenly began to violently shake and vibrate. In order to correct the failure, the speed needed to be reduced or the vehicle needed to be stopped. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who installed a shim to the passenger side front ball joints, but the failure continued to occur. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure.the failure mileage was 80,000.

Front suspension shakes violently at highway speeds.the problem is referred to as the "death wobble" by the ford dealership service manager.the ford dealership has made numerous attempts to resolve the problem but all have failed.there are websites, facebook pages, and forums devoted to this problem.does someone have to die before ford will issue a recall????

Not good.

On multiple occasions i have experienced a ā€œdeath wobbleā€¯ or a violent shaking that happens to the front end. It typically occurs at speeds over 50 miles per hour. It can also happen after going over bumps or grooves in the road. To stop the shaking, imust quickly slow way down or even stop completely. I have video documentation of it happening as experienced from inside the cab captured at its earliest onset on the vehicle.

Death wobble! for the past two years, i have been fighting this phenomenon by changing out shocks, sway bars, steering box etc., this past saturday, june 6th, while accelerating to get on the highway, the front end went into a violent shake (death wobble) where i thought i was going to loose control of the vehicle. I slammed on the brakes and moved off the entrance to the highway finally getting the front end under control. Ford has been unresponsive with the service manager at my local dealership saying even he can't get ford to help resolve this phenomenon.

The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250. The contact stated that while driving above 55 mph, the vehicle suddenly experienced severe vibration in the front suspension after driving over uneven pavement. The failure occurred on several occasions. During the failure the driver was not immediately able to stop the vehicle while the brake pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer paramount ford of valdese located (101 malcolm blvd, valdese) who replaced all four tires and the steering stabilizer shock and ball joints were replace by the independent mechanic but the failures recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 83,000.

The truck went into a wobbling front wheel situation when i hit an irregular pavement stretch. It has also happened when you go over an expansion joint on a bridge or hit a bump or pothole at freeway speeds.

Severe shaking in front end around 60mph. Truck becomes uncontrollable and very dangerous. "death shudder"

At highway speeds when going around a curve the vehicle began shaking violently.ford dealer replaced the damper assembly, front suspension arm bushing, installed 1 degree adjusters, replaced the track bar bushing, and did a front end alignment.ten months later i experienced a similar violent shaking when going over bumps at 75 mph.this happened 3 times in a 2 day period.the shaking would only subside after slowing down to less than 15 mph.many other f250 owners have experienced the same problem.the shaking is so violent is could easily cause loss of control and an accident.this vehicle is unsafe.

The contact owns a 2012 ford f-250. While driving approximately 60 mph, there was a bump in the road that caused the vehicle to wobble. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The mechanic stated that the steering box, stabilizer, and drag link needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 45,000.

In jan. 2012 i purchased a ford f-250 rated to tow 14,000 lbs. I traded in a ford f-150 rated at 7,700 lbs.when i hooked my camper to my 2000 f-150 the truck did not sag or squat at all. Looking to upgrade, i spoke to several sales people at several different dealerships. I was assured that the f-250 super duty would by far out perform my old truck. It does not. This new f-250 squats so bad it is ridiculous. On 6-18-12 i took my truck to the dealer at which i purchased the truck and complained of this matter, only to be told there is nothing wrong with the springs. Yet, the service managersaid he would send me to a third party out of state shop, to have springs made and split the cost with me, because that was cheaper than using genuine ford springs. This is unacceptable, as i did not spend thousands of dollars on a new ford only to have someoneelse fix fords problems. I contacted ford h.q. And explained my situation. After being on hold for some time, the person at h.q. Explained that he had spoke to,and there was no problem with my truck. I feel strongly that my decision to buy this truck, was based largely on fraudulent statements made by both ford sales people and ford literature alike. I have witnesses to the statements of the sales personnel, as well as to the fact that my old truck did not sag at all. I also have pictures of new truck hooked to trailer and sagging.##information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

Since 2013 i have had my ford f250 into the dealership numerous times with complaints of the front end just beginning to violently shake.the shaking will not stop until the truck is stopped, and during that time it's shaking so violently it's uncontrollable.the dealership has continuously told me it's the tires, but the tires are still in decent shape.it's happening again, and it's very scary, for me and mine, and others.

When you are driving down the highway and reach about 50 mph the wheels on the truck shake uncontrollably and it jerks you off the highway almost causing a wreck.

Death wobble around 45 mph

When i'm driving down the road i in my 2012 f-250 i get death wobble, the front tires start shaking like crazy and the steering wheel and whole truck shakes like you can't imagine, it starts around 50mph and gets really bad about 60-65mph. I have replaced ball joints, tie rods, shocks, wheel bearings, steering stabilizer, u joints and track bar bushing, none of it fixed it. I can't figure out how to fix it. It about runs you off the road it's so bad sometimes and you have no control of steering wheel.

Truck began shaking occasionally before end of warranty. Sometimes from a noticeable bump sometimes for no clear reason. Took it back to dealership several times prior to warranty expiration but told there was nothing wrong. It got worse to the point we did not drive the vehicle much as it became almost uncontrollable and happens seemingly randomly. One time on the highway in traffic with our granddaughters it was all we could do to get it off the side of the road without hitting anyone. We have taken the truck to several mechanics who have replaced most of the front suspension, brakes, and new tires...again. We have put several thousand dollars into repairs with ford unwilling or unable to diagnose, repair, or even admit this is a huge problem. Unsafe for anyone. These are expensive vehicles and we should not be afraid to use them. How can you not admit this is a safety issue before it kills someone?see death wobble videos online. The truck shakes so hard one mechanic who test drove ours wondered how all the glass wasn't broken out of it. We do have proof of multiple repairs trying to make the truck safe to drive again.

Egr sistem fails to soon and i have dead wobble front suspension

I was driving on the highway and the front of the truck started to shake uncontrollably. I thought maybe i hit something. Then a little while longer it did it again when i hit a bump.thank goodness not a lot of cars around i had to turn on my blinkers and try to pull over . No warning lights no bells no whistles nothinhappen before or after. Then on august 29,2021 it happened again this time a busy road . Cars behind me almost ran into me i donā€™t remember any bumps in the road at all . There was no warning ,!scared me. Next time might not be so lucky . I called the ford dealer and he has made an appointment to see the truck in over a week . Guess we just keep driving and pray it doesnā€™t happen and no one dies . Thanks ford .

Driving down interstate 85 at 65mph passing a vehicle and all the sudden truck starts to violently shake, making it nearly impossible to control until we got below 30 mph. Felt as if tires were going to fall off or we were going to loose control.

Severe shaking in front end around 60mph. Truck becomes uncontrollable and very dangerous. "death shudder"

When driving on the interstate at the start of a full day on the road, the front of the truck started shaking violently. At first, i thought i had encountered a rough stretch of road, but there was no way the washboard effect i was experiencing was from the road. It was far too fast and violent. My next thoughts were that i was about to lose a front tire...or both front tires...or maybe the engine was seizing up. Whatever it was, something was seriously wrong and it was scary. I responded by taking my foot off the accelerator and braking, and then easing across two lanes of traffic to the side of the road, where the shaking stopped. I was traveling with my daughter and five-month-old granddaughter, and once i slowed down, the shaking stopped. The truck then ran normally and we were able to resume our trip without any further issues. The truck is currently at the ford dealer to be serviced and they are looking into the problem, though when i described what had happened, the lady at the service desk said, "yeah, some of these trucks have that problem." i now have serious concerns about the safety of this truck, particularly since i often travel alone pulling a horse trailer and for long distances. Were this to happen with a fully loaded trailer, in heavy traffic, on a curve, and/or going down a mountain pass, i don't know what would happen since with the steering wheel and front of the truck were shaking so violently that it didn't feel like i had any control over the front end of the vehicle. I am grateful i was on a straight stretch of highway and that the traffic wasn't too heavy.

Traveling at various speeds the truck front vibrate violently.i have to pull off the roadand stop to get the vibration to stop.the tires have been balanced and rebalanced.the vehicle is still in the stock configuration. I have approximately 140k miles now.

We were travelling thru new mexico on our way home to arizona when we felt a vibration in the front end.having experienced a separated cord in one of our tires in may of 2015 at 15,000 miles (several months earlier), we suspected a tire.we pulled off at a rest stop but could not see a problem.we went 50 miles further at a reduced rate of speed to get ourselves off the road and near a service facility.we pulled off the road and checked the tires again and discovered a raised area in the right front tire, similar to the tire that failed at 15,0000 miles.the second tire to separate has about 23,000 miles on it.i am beginning to seriously question the quality and safety of continental tires on our f-250.had we not been aware of the possibility of a failed tire and had not pulled off the road, we could have experienced a blowout and a serious accident.when the first tire was separated we asked the dealer to replace all of the tires as we suspected they were all made in the same lot/batch.the dealer would not replace them and so we took a chance that the rest were ok (these are all tires that were on the vehicle when we purchased it new two years ago).seems there was a similar flaw on the f-250 tires in 2008/2009 .lawyers say it is the manufacturer's fault: tire defects are due to perhaps most commonly, ineffective adhesion, usually as a result of the glues age or poor bonding of tire components during the manufacturing process. When tires are being made, moisture, impurities, and other foreign materials are capable of entering the mix and get cured into the tire. Tire manufacturers have known about these types of problems for years, but have failed to correct them, or to use better designs less prone to failure, like improving skin stock, which can better bond rubber to the steel.

Jan 01 2015 i was driving to work 6am, when the engine light went on a message read " pull over now safely", i pull to the side along the freeway the truck shut down. I had to call into to work to advise i won't be in and called a tow truck. I had to pay out of pocket for a tow into folsom lake ford. The service advisor told me it was a bad sensor all four should be replaced. I called my wife she investigated egt recall on fords, i told the service advisor of recall he said there is no recall. My wife escalated the call to ford customer service dept.she spoke with [xxx] he confirmed the recall and gave her a reference number, level 2 customer service told her the dealership noted it's the calibration and we can't upgrade that for you. The call escalated to regional supervisor tjx he said nothing he can do and i'll have to pay for repairs out of pocket.my husband paid the repair bill. On 02/02/2015 we received a recall letter for emission recall 14e03 catalyst reduction system update for improvement including reduced temperature sensor faults and improved drivability. So basically the egt sensor runs off this computer system telling the sensor the truck is over heating. This stranded my husband on the side of the road, now ford refuses to reimburse use the repairs and towing.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Takata recallmy security alarm goes off at random any time day or night when parked in driveway.no ryme of reason why.nothing around truck, 0r touching it.day or night. When locked which its always locked if im not in it. No photoes, but i do have witnesses.

The security system goes off at random, since i bought the truck.shop says. Nothing wrong .... I beg to differ, i can be inside a store, keys in purse and alarm goes off and no one around truck.or at homein bed at 2 or 4 am and it goes off. No one around truck keys on counter.i always lock my truck no matter where i'm at, but i have to find my keys and unlock it then relock to reset the alarm. It's annoying and im sure insurance would look twice on covering a vehicle that security doesn't work correctly. It likecrying wolf wolf i'm afraid my truck will actually be stolen one day.then who do i blame?? ford?this is a random problem but continuous .please do somthing. Not sure what documentation to send other than witnesses.

Exhaust gas temperature sensor shut down my truck 2 time on the road at night on hight way to danger

The brake shift interlock acuator does not work in my 2012 ford f250. I found this out the hard way when my 8 year old son hit the shifter and the truck rolled backwards with him in it. I was taking groceries out of my truck and i had the keys in my pocket thinking there is nothing he can do that would make the truck move. Luckily i was able to jump into the moving vehicle and hit the brake with my hand. The whole incident was recorded on my home security camera. It was a very scary situation that could've gone really bad but thankfully it didn't. I found this article online (https://news.pickuptrucks.com/2011/12/recall-alert-2011-ford-f-150-2012-ford-f-250-f-350-f-450-f-550.html) and its stating that there was a recall on this part but only for trucks that were built between 9/9-9/22 of that year. Mine was built 3/12 but i find it far too hard to believe that there shouldn't be a recall on my vehicle also. I contacted ford motor corporation and they seem to have no concerns about my current situation. I believe something this dangerous should be taken care of by them. To me its not about the money but it is about the principle of how there could be a possibility of death caused by this. My truck only has 46,000 miles on it and i believe that is way under the average milage for a vehicle of that age. Hopefully i can get some guidance from you guys in which to take my next step in getting my situation resolved. Thank you.

While driving with cruise control on, when adjusting speed, engine will stall out and power steering, brakes stop working, all interior and exterior lights remain on, incident has happened twice within a week

Defrost mode acuator faulty

My rear window shattered on a cold morning with no impact. I suspect the rear defroster was faulty. Glass guy said he replaced this window all the time with that complaint.

I was driving at 35 mph on a smooth asphalt city street in a straight line and my right front tire exploded.the tires are 5 years old andthe tread was measured at 6/32 on 6-15-17 at the dealer during routine service.the pressure was set at 65 psi at the same time which is the manufacture spec.the tread coming off caused approximately $1300 damage to my fender (not including the tire cost).thankfully, there was not an accident since i was the only car on the road.i did not hit anything or run over anything when the tire exploded.

When driving 60mph, out of no where the front end started wobbling like crazy. We almost got in an accident. After slowing down it stopped. This happened again on our way home. We were driving on a one lane highway. This is extremely dangerous and scary. Thank god my husband was driving.
