Ford f-250 super duty king ranch (2010) with a 6.4 powerstroke engine. The 3rd cylinder blew up and the piston came apart and scarred the cylinder wall up. This is supposedly a known issue with the new emissions equipment that was added to the vehicle to force diesels to have to pass smog. This issue should have been addressed by ford when it started happening to avoid people having to replace their engines at a cost of $20k.

Radiator leak and exhaust manifold bolts. I just bought a used ford f250 diesel fx4 lariat. Nice truck but nothing but problems so far. It had 128k on it. Just noticed today that every time i fill the resivoir it leaks out. Looks like the radiator leaking where the plastic and aluminum meet. Over a thousand installed. Then the whine that was supposed to be a belt ended up being broke off exhaust bolts on manifold. 16 hrs at $1300 plus parts maybe another $130. Not happy with this ford at all. Sad that's what my last four vehicles were.

Since i have owned this truck from 2010 to current i have had problems with the exhaust manifolds and a transmission overflow relief valve. The exhaust manifolds keep popping the studs which allows fumes inside the truck upon a $2000.00 bill every time... This issue could cause the whole exhaust system to fall right out from under the truck while driving. The other issue is the trans overflow....everytime it happens it spits the fluid out all over the exhaust which causes a fire everytime. I have been reporting these problems since i have purchased the truck.these problems need to be adressed before someone gets hurt or worse.

Twice i have taken my truck to the dealership for a tapping noise.the noise seems to occur when its really cold outside or vehicle hasn't been run for couple days.the noise lasts about 10 seconds than goes away.of course dealership and ford said the vehicle is within specifications.yesterday, i noticed a strong burning smell like a clutch was going out, only problem is mine is an automatic.truck only has 50k miles and i started having the tapping noise around 32k miles.

2010 ford f 250. Consumer writes in regards to failed catalytic converter. *ld

While driving on crowded interstate hwy. Vehicle makes contact with a expansion joint and truck goes into severe wobble and shaking. Had to brake speed in moving traffic to almost a complete stop to cure wobble. Very dangerous and scary. Luckily drivers were courteous enough to let me get it under control without running into my rear and causing a pile up. Have had vehicle in repair shop to inspect with no identifiable solution. Now have a fear of returning back home the 500 miles. Wife is paranoid and fearful. This is the third occurrence in the last year. Manufacturers need to find a fix for this or serious injury could occur.

Between 50 and 60 miles an hour if you hit a little bump the left front wheel will start hopping and shaking all over the road and you have to come to a complete stop it's noted on the internet as the ford death wobble

I have the death wobble problem on my super duty truck and it's happening every day all the time when i'm bringing on more than 45 or 55 mph and i hit a hole on the road i'm afraid to bribe my truck.

Truck is experiencing the 'death wobble'. Violent shaking and bouncing of the front end and steering assembly. Has happened multiple times- always at freeway speeds after hitting a change in pavement surface- bridge joint; pothole, rough road. Both when empty and when towing a travel trailer. Has happens going straight and also on curves. The violent shaking continues until the truck slows down to a certain point (under 30 mph?) then it returns to normal operations. Having to slow down on the freeway is dangerous! there are numerous articles, videos, etc online that detail the problem. There is also a class-action lawsuit (i am not party to it ). Ford needs to acknowledge the problem and fix it! this should be a safety recall before someone is killed! it is very scary and dangerous and if the driver panics or isn't skilled it could result in a very serious crash. From what i have learned ford's recommended fix does not fix the problem. Customers spend a lot of money replacing parts but that isn't the solution. The problem persists. My truck is bone stock and well maintained. This is an engineering defect, not a customer maintenance issue.

When driving down the road steering wheel and entire truck started wobbling violently. Has done this several times. Only way to make it stop is to almost completely stop the truck. Has happened when driving less than 45mph on city streets and when driving 65mph on the highway.

Death wobble. Hitting a bum at highway speeds and the struck loses control. Have to pull over onto the shoulder for hit to stop. Almost took me into the other lane and hit a car. Very dangerous. Has happened several times.

We have a 2010 ford f250 superduty diesle with approx 105k miles on it. While driving down the city highway (route 15 south in williamsport, pa) at approximately 64 mph i was on a bridge that the road turned slightly to the left to merge into another highway and when i hit the expansion joint the truck started to violently shake out of control bouncing the truck toward the rail guard.i applied the breaks to slow the truck down.it took all the stregnth i had in my arms to keep the truck on the road.when at approx 35mph the shaking finally subsided.this is not the first time this has happened in our truck.my husband has experienced it a few times.after researching on the internet i found that there is a ford technical service bulletin 18-2268 for this and it is being called the death wobble.we are taking our truck in tomorrow to be serviced at our local ford dealer, but this is very dangerous issue and should be a ford recall.everything i am reading online is pointing to a known issue with the steering linkage damper/adjust assembly and clearance between the axle and the bearings in the hub assembly.below are the part numbers that are listed in the ford technical service bulletin 18-2268:part numberdescriptionquantityhc3z-3e651-dsteering linkage damper15c3z-3b440-eee1 adjuster assembly25c3z-3b440-ddd3/4 adjuster assembly25c3z-3b440-ccc1/2 adjuster assembly25c3z-3b440-bbb1/4 adjuster assembly2f2tz-3a049-acastle nut2w525288-s437cotter pin2i really feel this needs to be addressed with ford and put in as a recall before someone dies.please be proactive to save lives.

After hitting a rough spot on interstate 81 my truck started to shake violently.had to come to a complete stop to stop the shaking.the alignment is now out and the tires need to be replaced after several episodes of death wobble. If ford and the nhtsa does not correct this problem after knowing it they both should have their pants sued off of them and then thrown under the jail !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i hope that someone will read this and do their job and not let this go on like chevywith the cobalt key problem !!!!!!!!

The front end of my ford f-250 regularly wobbles uncontrollably when traveling on the freeway at speeds in excess of 50 mph. The shaking is so scary and violent and the only way to stop it is to slow down or stop the vehicle and this is very challenging and dangerous while traveling at high speeds on the freeway with other cars around.

When i hit a bump in a road going over 50 its a terrible shacks and we have replaced a lot of stuff mechanics really unknowing the problem. And problem still unsolved all that money we paid for the truck and i pray that truck don'tbe the death of me and my kids we need some help on getting our only transportation fixes we have had several bad close to death experience in that truck when on the highway its shacks uncontrollably. Tonight i like to cause a serious accident due to uncomfortable shacks.

Ford f250 superduty. 52,000 miles. Severe shake in the front end of the truck at speed 45-55 mph. Truck also is pulling to the right (not while braking). Highway driving.

Vehicle suddenly and without warning becomes completely unsteerable.sudden very strong shaking vibration in front end.has happened at least 6 times to date.always occurs at speeds above 55 mph seeming to result after a slight bump or seam in the road is passed.for instance after hitting a bridge seam at 65 mph experienced sudden, violent vibration that only resolved after the truck slowed considerably.couldn't effectively steer just held on and luckily didn't hit other cars but that was due to evasive action by other drivers.

While travelling approximately 65 mph through a curved area of highway, vehicle hit a small bump.vehicle began to shake violently and uncontrollably in the front end and steering wheel.once i slowed to approximately 40 mph vehicle stopped shaking.when i pulled over to attempt to identify problem, a woman who had been driving in the lane next to me stopped.she advised me that she saw the incident and said that my front driver's side tire looked like it was about to fall off.i checked suspension and did not notice any obvious problem.i checked lug nuts and all were tight.i was on my way home from a vacation and continued driving approximately 125 more miles without incident.after researching on internet, i am sure that i experienced what is being referred to on the internet as the "death wobble"my truck only has 59,000 miles and is all stock.tires have relatively good tread and were inflated at proper pressure.i think this could have caused and serious accident and i am fortunate that it did not.it felt very dangerous.i want to report this so that ford will address this issue.

Unknown. Difficulty steering, violent shaking of steering and wheels. Already replaced steering contol box, tie rods, had alignment, new wheels.feesl like death wobbles at any speed.

2010 ford f-250 with a horrible shimmy between 60 and 65 mph.becomes violent shaking after going over small bumbs in road, and unable to steer.to stop this i had to slow below 50 mph. Currently 82000 miles have had this issue for several months.no one at ford seems to know what it is. Search on the intranet appears to describe it as the "death wobble".

We recently purchased this as a used truck, private sale. When traveling over 45 mph, if vehicle hits a bump or catches a ridge, the steering creates a feedback that violently shakes the entire vehicle.immediate, rapid hard braking is necessary to maintain control of the vehicle.this occurs frequently, is commonly known as ford death wobble, is a known issue, and should be subject to recall.

Driving on the highway at speeds between 65-75 mph, when you hit a bump, or any rough patch of road, the truck shakes violently in the front end. I have heard this referred to as the 'death wobble'. This has been happening periodically over the years i have owned the truck. Despite new tires, alignment, shocks, brakes, etc., the truck still has this wobble. There are two spots on the highway i travel within 15 minutes of my house this happens every time i drive the truck. Both are where the road transitions to a bridge overpass.

While driving my 2010 ford f250 super duty on the highway i drove over a bump in the road. The truck began to shake violently. It felt like it was going to fall apart while still in motion. I tried to hit the brake but that seemed to exacerbate the problem. I tried to adjust the steering wheel in hopes to align some defunct component. Nothing seemed to help except to let off the gas and attempt to control the vehicle and avoid a potential fatal accident. This really was a frightening event, it was all i could do to maintain a safe distance around me so not to collide with other drivers.

While driving the truck at a speed greater than 40 mph, when you hit a bump in the road, the steering wheel and truck begin to shake to the point of non control.i've had the vehicle looked at by 3 mechanics and replaced ball joints, stabilizers, tie rods, etc.nobody can fix it.ford won't admit anything is wrong.http://www.topix.com/forum/autos/ford-f-250-super-duty/tohp1m75vbfbft9il/p15

I just bought this vehicle and was driving the highway at 65 mph.i went over the expansion joint on a bridge and lost control of the vehicle.it jumped into the next lane. Thank god no one was in the other lane and no one got hurt.my family and others could have been killed.the dealership said the steering damper was bad.i'm sorry but a bad steering damper when you are traveling 65 mph over a small bump should not make your vehicle jump into the next lane and loose control.this must be fixed by ford.i am reading that other people have had to have all of the front end parts replaced and then the problem returns again.what is the nhtsa doing about this?do not have vin at this time my truck is at the dealers.

In september of 2015 the handle would not open the tail gate we were pulling our 5th wheel camper. We were able to raise the camper higher than the tail gate to hook up the camper. We took it to fordit was diagnosis and said that it would have to be replaced. The cost was around $278.90.we saw the next we were camping in the same camp ground after our repairs were made another ford f-250 super duty not sure what year it was butit looked as if it was a 2010 the owner was also having trouble getting the tail gate open on his truck but he was hauling a tag along camper. Is there any recall problems with the tail gates on these trucks. This was at 80331 miles. We also have had to replace track bar and track bar ball joint and drag link . We were told that this is a problem with the f series super duty.is there a recall on this. This was done in june of 2017 with 100778 miles. When you hit a bump the front end would shake so bad that you had to hold the steering wheel tight and let the truck slow down by itself. It happened at a low speed and at 70 mph with me one dad it felt like the front wheels were going to bounce right off the truck and very scary for a women i was afraid to put on the brakes so it was a ruff ride till it slowed down enough to stop the shaking. This was at a cost of$1,133.32. It would be nice to get a feed back on this information if possible. Periodic loss of control due to extreme shimmy otherwise known as the ford death wobble.although the truck is a 2010 it now has 40,463 miles, has no off road use, tires kept balanced and rotated per ford service, has been treated like a baby and is still in excellent condition.the problem started occurring around 30,000 miles.at unpredictable times the front of the truck will violently start shaking at speeds above about 50 mph.i have run into a ditch while trying to regain control, other times have swerved out of my lane of traffic.this condition renders the $59,000 truck highly dangerous.i am terrified to drive the truck.the ford dealer said they could repair the truck for about $1000 but this is not my fault, all proper maintenance has been done.the truck has been gently driven.ford should be required to recall and repair the truck. The problem started at about 30,000 miles.the latest occurrence was june 7, 2020.

Death wobble. Hitting a bum at highway speeds and the struck loses control. Have to pull over onto the shoulder for hit to stop. Almost took me into the other lane and hit a car. Very dangerous. Has happened several times.

The contact owns a 2010 ford f-250. While driving 70 mph, the entire vehicle shook violently and displayed the "death wobble". The contact released the accelerator pedal and the vehicle slowed down and pulled off the exit ramp. The contact was able to slowly drive to his destination. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the tie rods, trac bar, trac bar cushions, and trac bar ball joints all needed to be replaced. The contact called deacon jones ford-lincoln (3301 mclain st, goldsboro, nc 27534, (919) 736-3387) and was advised to bring the vehicle in for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer acknowledged that there was a class action lawsuit for the "death wobble" failure. The manufacturer stated that there was no recall for the failure. The vehicle was scheduled to be repaired by an independent mechanic. The failure mileage was 156,000. The vin was unknown.

About 6 months after the purchase of my 2010 ford f250 king ranch 4x4 my truck began to have serious shimming in the front in when i would hit bumps on highways.this schim is listed as the death wobble on many websites.i have had the front end repaired 3 times and going on the fourth time today when i took the truck in for service.i spoke to my service manager and asked if he knew of a permanent fix and he spoke to the shop foreman and advised me they can only fix this problem tempoarily.this last time this happened i was pulling my 35 foot travel trailer and almost rolled my truck with my family in the vehicle.this is a very serious and dangerous issue and i am having trouble understanding why a major safety recall has not been filed.you can google f250 death wobble and you will see tons of websites with information about this and complaints that ford has no fix for this issue.i think if ford can not fix a major safety issue like this then they should replace these trucks with new ones.it seems to be the year 2008-2010 with the major issues.every friend i know that owns one of these trucks has said they have the same issue and they arer scared to drive their trucks.i feel exactly the same and i would like something done for everyones safety.i am looking into the lemon law to see if i fall into the requiements to file a claim for a new vehicle.

Ignition key got stuck in tail gate of truck costed me 450.00 to get taken out by roundtree ford in lake city florida

The ignition sometimes turns off by itself. When attempting to start vehicle the ignition will get stuck in the far on position. If you don't notice this and start to drive and hit a bump the key will spring back to the off position causing power loss. The key also gets stuck in the ignition and not able to remove it. This has been going on for awhile and have not seen any recalls on it. Today i started my vehicle and did not notice the key stuck in the far on position. I drove away from y residence and hit a small bump in the road. The key went back to the off position and my vehicle stalled in traffic. Luckily i realized what happened and pulled over to restart vehicle. Once i got to my destination the key would not come out of ignition.

When attempting to start the vehicle. The ignition switch gets stuck in the on position and does not release to the normal position. Getting stuck causes the heater and the radio or any other electronic device inside the vehicle not to work. To make these devices work, you have to manually turn the ignition one notch towards the driver. This happens all the time when attempting to start the vehicle.

I have the death wobble problem on my super duty truck and it's happening every day all the time when i'm bringing on more than 45 or 55 mph and i hit a hole on the road i'm afraid to bribe my truck.

Accelerator pedal positions sensor fails resulting in immediate speed reduction in traffic.while driving on a highway this happened with speed going from 55 to 15 almost as if putting on brakes.dealer replaced apps and it failed again in less than 18 months.no accident occurred but surely could have if other drivers were following closer.

At various speeds, the front end begins shaking violently like you have just blown a tire. When you slow down it settles back. This problem was checked by an ase mechanic and suggested i balance my tires. After doing so, the problem still occurs.

Continental contitrac m+s lt275/65r18e 123/120s is the original tire on our 2010 truck.we had to replace 1 tire due to steel belt separation.i see continental recalled 2008 and 2009 but don't see mention of 2010 being recalled.

Experienced vibration in the front end of the truck at all speeds on local county road. Took the f250 to summerville ford to be aligned and balanced. Ford found the right front tire's steel belt had separated and replaced the tire with the same brand and size. Continental lt275/65r18.
