While driving my truck it has stopped running and just shut itself off like its not getting fuel. I have read the complaints on the f250 super duty and my truck is responding exactly the same way. I am afraid to drive it due to someone hitting me or it causing an accident so i looked on here today and saw the recall for the super duty. This is a serious and dangerous issue that someone definitely needs to address. I was driving down the road and the vehicle lost power and i tried to push the pedal to get fuel but nothing happened. I am very lucky the vehicle behind me was back far enough that i turned on my flashers and they noticed or i could have caused an accident or worse.

While at a dead stop, placed truck in drive and the engine suddenly accelerated to full power lunging the vehicle forward 10' while i simultaneously applied both feet to the brake for maximum stopping power.this is the third time in two to three months this has happened.no check engine lights are on.took my car to the local ford dealer and was told by the service manager that they have never heard of this problem before.researched the internet only to find lots of other similar complaints.originally thought it was human error, floor mat, or similar problem... But this last time, i was prepared because of previous incidents. This problem can cause a terrible accident and may even result in death.

I was having problems with the truck spitting and sputtering and blowing black/blue smoke when under load. Took to dealer, replaced inj. Fuel pump and line, stopped for a few months at the cost of $3200 then two months later coming up rt 81. Kept running very rough, shaking stalling, pulled over and had aaa take it to dealer, they sent it out and was called being told cylinder is bad due to bad inj. They started the truck to move it out of garage and a loud bang was heard then the engine died..i still owe $15,000 on this truck and cant afford $8,000 for a new engine. I have had fords in the past and had only rust problems with them but i will don't buy another one after this ...

While driving on m-37 i noticed white steam coming out of exhaust.noticed engine temp rising.i stopped cooled engine and brought truck home, where it has been since then.this is a problem ford motor company has known about since 2005.the engineering department identified this design flaw back then and still to this day refuse to help compensate consumers for repairs.the head bolts stretch allowing for the head gaskets to fail.i asked ford motor company customer service if i brought my vehicle to a authorized ford dealer if they would absorb some of the extensive cost for repairs ( 5-6000 dollars).their response was no, because we have no recalls on this.in my opinion they have knowingly allowed this engine to be manufactured and sold to the public even thou these design flaws were present.that is plain unacceptable.i ask you to go on the internet.type in ford 6.0 diesel and see how many forums come up.you will see case after case of failures.i am left with this repair cost, and with no relief from ford.

This particular model and year with the 6.0 litre engine (2005 ) is nortorious for the oil cooler to blow up leaving you stranded wherever. When it happened to me i was pulling a 33ft 5th wheel trailer and almost wrecked. Ford knows all about this faulty piece of equipment yet doesn't recall it and should be held accountable for replacing it. It cost me $6000 to get my truck fixed. The faulty piece was installed by ford and should be responsible by ford for repair costs

Pulling into my driveway it started smoking really bad.

Engine would put out white smoke then would start to over heat.

F250 6.0l diesel with 85844 miles had the egr/oil cooler go bad the repair cost 4744.00 at the dealer. I have an extended warranty but as usual not covered. This a known problem with these 6 liters along with the head bols being substandard and faulty ficm which i replaced at the cost of 525.00 and doing the work myself.i have tried to resolve this with ford and my warranty company warranty direct to no avail. I did get the warranty company to admit the egr cooler was covered but they would not cover the other repairs required with this repair so i got 981.00 from them. These problems have been well documented and i feel it is about time the nesta got involved and got recalls established. My vehicle just started having a small amount of fluid under it th a t i had checked out within 2 days of noticing which led to the egr/oil cooler being repaired and the ficm got replaced a fer truck started running real ruff on cold start up and the ficm sent code of the problem but it can also just stop functioning even while driving which could be fatal.

Engine stalled without warning driving in traffic while weaving in and out of traffic trying to avoid hitting other vehicles or them hitiing me. A dangerous, intense momenttrying to get my truck off the road with no power steering or power brakes. This truck may or may or m ay not start. No crank/no start, no start/cranks, no start/bucking and stalling engine. These issues relate to the injector wiring harness due to chaffing and crushing, a very time consuming task. Technician verified the harness is worn and wires are exposed.past ford customers refer to the violent shaking that while driving this truck as the "death wobble." an intense moment.this is a risk concerning vehicle safety. This is not protecting consumers against unreasonable risks of accidents occuring. The tires on my truck are michelins. They are the size recommended by ford for this vehicle. Customer service was contacted twice. Both replys were the same.there are no warrenties, recalls or programs in effect that would provide coverage for your current concern. Keep receipts, etc. Fords presentation to- ford identified a number of potential failures mechanisms that could effect engine performance in this vehicle population including the wiring conditions addressed by nhtsa. 05v-270. The wiring conditions both effect engine fueling were theonditions to result in engine stall." vehicles affected were built 9-29-2003 5-31-2004 in louisville ky. Mine 8-2004 in louisville. There have been numerious complaints concerning safety with this population of f-series trucks, then and now. Ford is aware of the failure and expects the consumer to pay for the thier mistake. If nhtsa hadn't stepped in when the defects were discoverd, ford would have done nothing. Nhtsa stated further action will be taken if warrented by future circumstances. In the interest of public safety, the time for further action is now.

Truck frame seems to be rotting. Told 3-4 years at most by mechanic. Already replaces fuel tank brackets, any rust recalls as in ones toyota did a while ago/ also told at 1000,000 mi will need spark plug change (only59000 now) and there was a recall of this plug removal could be difficult. Any help

Frameis rusting, headers are leaking from rust.

The above vehicle has had multiple problems due to the design of the engine including such things as the egr cooler, the egr valve (twice), the fuel injector control mod (ficm), the high pressure oil regulator screen, (a .10 cent piece 450.00 labor). If you will search this engine from 2003 to 2007 you will find hundred if not thousand of post by owners of the 6.0 powerstroke that are having the same problems over and over. Ford refuses to do anything to help anyone and they told me in an email you were the only ones that can make them have a recall. I hope you will step up and help all of us. Ford filed suit against the manufacture (internation/ navistar) over this engines problems back in 2004 but they kept selling it knowing it had problems that would be left up to the buyers of the vehicles, i was personally told by a salesman to expect 350,000 miles from this engine. If you can not help me and the others can you tell me what else i can do? will it take legal action or is there another path i can take?

Regular driving on open road , no harsh conditions- power loss, without any warning - no engine lights or warnngs - sudden decelleration , jerky responsemore decelleration - limp off ramp , limp home.turbo sounding whiny and different , no response to added pressing on gas , nor stop , restart.has been evaluated at dealership many times and many problems corrected, paidfor yet nothing works - regular maintenance is preformed on this vehicle, much care is taken by owner.very dangerous condition will cause a wreck , can no longer endanger lives, we do everything the dealers ask and condition returns. Must evaluate at new dealership and whether or not can keep.i am getting post traumatic stressfrom this vehicle and it's lack of unreliable transport . I fear getting into the car for any distance - if i have to return to the bank , i must advise them not to re-sell liability reasons and inform them of chronic lemon problems in this model f250 6.0 ford truck .

Own a 2005 ford f250 with a 6.0 diesel engine.the 6.0 diesel has a factory defect with the egr value cooler inside the engine rupturing sending coolant into the engine and thru the exhaust into the atmosphere.this should be a recall due to a factory defect.ford is repairing this problem if it occurs when the vehicle is still under warranty but allowing the consumer to burden the expense if their warranties have expired.the estimated cost is $2600.00 to $3300.00.ford has redesigned the egr value & cooler to handle the pressure better with thicker walls.the ford dealership has advised that this is a problem that will happen due to the cooler walls being to thin and rupturing under pressure.the end result is a sudden lost of power with possible steering & brake issues in controlling the vehicle.in our family we have purchased 4 of the f250's.i have pictures of the event as it happens and a copy of the repairs needed to fix this problem. I have spoke with kristin berry with your agency and receive an e mail of my complaint but i could not make the necessary changes to the form and resent it. The reference # 10305746.

While driving down the highway at 70 mph, my 2005 ford f-250 diesel truck engine suddenly died. I had to wrestle with the truck to get it stopped and pulled over to the side of the road. I had no steering when the truck engine stalled suddenly and had trouble getting it stopped. I was towed home as the truck would not restart. We then towed it to the dealership for repairs on july 26th, and it has been there until today, saturday, august 7th, 2010. The dealership replaced the high pressure oil pump at over $1200.00. Even though the truck had 62,000 miles, it had just gone over 5 years old. We were told this is a big problem with ford diesels and the ford engineers are telling consumers that they aren't changing the oil enough. I consistently changed the oil in that truck every 5000 miles with delo 400 as i was told to do. There needs to be an investigation of fords high pressure pumps and the amount of money consumers are having to pay for repairs because of this defective part. I asked to have the high pressure pump that was removed from my truck, and i was told that he had to send it back to ford because it had a very expensive core. I'm sure they did not want me to have the evidence.

My 2005 ford f-250 6.0l diesel lost acceleration onto a highway. It stalled and started billowing white smoke from the exhaust. After a few moments it slowly accelerated, but nearly caused an accident as cars ran up onto us. The engine was missing and we made it to an intersection to pull off of highway. We stopped and restarted the engine and it started running normally. However, it happened again once we were on the road. We made it to the dealership where they diagnosed the problem as a failed "ficm fuel injector control module." this has been reported to them multiple times, but a recall has not been issued for this model. I did find reference to a recall (ford recall no. 05s34) of the exact nature on a different year model. I called ford and they would not reimburse the cost of the part and labor of $1100.

The contact owns a 2005 ford f-250.the fuel tank assembly failed and was replaced, but the failure recurred.the failure typically occurs when the warranty has expired.the approximate failure and current mileages were 60,000.

The fuel injection control module (ficm) failed on my truck, causing the engine to not start or run.this is a very common component failure for the 6.0l diesel engine.if it fails when the vehicle is being driven, it could cause loss of control, loss of power steering, loss of braking capability.ford must be aware of the common failure of this component, yet no recall to replace these faulty modules has been issued.in the interest of public safety, i request that ford be required to replace all existing ficm's on the 6.0l diesel engine with one of better quality, and reimburse all owners of these vehicles that have already paid the excessive repair costs, commonly over $1000, to have their failed ficm's replaced.

Stalls out after hot run and wont restart until cools down and sometimes after cool down it wont start without using astarter fluid.starts stalling around 60 mph.this is a 6.0 diesel truck.has stopped running running down the road after you let off gas pedal.have notified ford of this problem and found that there was a recall on this truck.was told that there is not a recall by ford when i called them.

When trying to pump fuel at a gas station gas will spit back out, alot. Takes 15 mins to pump 2 gallons. Truck is parked and not running.

Vehicle randomly dies while driving down road does not matter speed or what road you are on happens to the point we almost expect it now everytime we drive. It will act fine no warning then in middle of driving it just shuts off very dangerous. It also, will randomly loss power not all the time but occasionally if going over 45mph, the a/c works until you drive over 45mphthen just stops until you get to a stop sign. Take off again its fine til that 45mph mark then blows hot. Had truck since sept. 2018 & have had the problem since at least 1 out of 4x driving this will all happen. Truck also has problems with fueling up the tank it shuts the pump off constantly. Main problem & most worrisome is the shutting off randomly while driving.

The contact owns a 2005 ford f-250. The contact stated that the safety straps that secured the fuel tank were rusted and fractured. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic.

The 2005 ford f250 pickup trucks has an issue while filling vehicle with fuel. The fuel shoots out of gas tank fill inlet during the fueling process. This problem will happen with the fuel gauge registering empty, half, or near full. I have had gas shoot all over me and other people time and time again. I have been instructed to not get gas in that truck at every gas station near my home. I have to drive across town to get gas. As soon as they notice fuel spilling out of my truck, i will be banned from their stations too. There are 8 gas stations within 5 blocks that have banned me. It costs me approx. $4 to go get fuel, even though there is a station 1 block away. I contacted ford customer service many times. They claim it isn't a recall issue. I researched the ford executives company email addresses and sent emails to them. The email addresses were still valid and not returned. The emails made it to those executives but they never responded. I explained that the fuel spillage is causing a huge safety concern and may kill me or someone else. I explained that the problem may cause an explosion at a store. The ford motor service professionals have told me that the filter in the tank has gone bad. I have made the costly repair 4 times since may of 2008. It works well for a few months and then the gas shoots out again.on one of those instances, the fuel spilled out, and i finished fueling and pulled to the front of the store to report the spillage. Someone drove up in that spot smoking a cigarette and caused a fire from the fuel spilled at the pump. I was banned from that store as well. I have to either pay for a costly gas tank fuel filter replacement, get banned from stores for honestly reporting the spillage, or fuel up and drive away from the store before someone notices that i spilled fuel. I don't like doing any of those things. Ford doesn't care.

The contact owns a 2005 ford f-250. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel injector control module failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the fuel injector was replaced again. In addition, the vehicle experienced excessive coolant consumption and operated abnormally. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the egr valve and oil cooler failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000.

Noticed a cloud of smoke behind vehicle while driving 55 mph on highway. Upon inspection found it was leaking transmission fluid from hole in top of transmission onto exhaust (exact same problem as described in ford bulletin 05b27) had to replace transmission at 57,265 miles at a cost of $4,000.00. Ford would not warranty it.

On deceleration the engine stalls after driven for 10-15 minutes. The check engine light comes on. I don't notice the stall until i apply the gas pedal. A couple of times i was turning, i had to slow down severely to give me more time to turn( no power steering). I almost had an accident several times. The code was a throttle body code p2104.ireplaced the throttle body. After a few months the stalling occurred again. This is dangerous. At this time the stalling hasn't happen very often but the code is still there, now i have to smog this vehicle. I see on the internet there have been other people with this condition.

The contact owns a 2005 ford f-250. While driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road, placed the gear in neutral, restarted the vehicle, and was able to resume driving. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic (bolan transmission shop) who diagnosed that the transmission was burned and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 85,000.

2005 ford f250 diesel truck has for one week and transmission gears welded together. Has been back to dealership almost three weeks and no help nor explanation on what went wrong. If there is a model year problem should be know quyickly as these are used for heavy hauling.

2005 ford f250 sd had cracked transmission becuase of low/reverse snap ring failure in the 5r110 torqshift transmission. Ford issued a customer satisfaction program 05b27 but put an expiration date on it. The program was not ever for a whole year. Ford is not willing to reimburse or issue a recall when they know this is a problem. The snap ring failed inside and busted my transmission. Alot of people have experienced this problem and there needs to be a recall on this transmission.

This is the first of four times that i have had to have brake work done on my truck.three of the times i was told that the calipers had frozen and so calipers pads and (except this last time) rotors had to be replaced.this is absurd for a truck with less than 45,000 miles.understand this is expensive!!have never had anything like this on any other vehicle. Also, i have experienced the oft talked about "death wobble" a few times on the highway.was rear brakes in 2010' fronts in 2011' now rears again in 2013.

Continued intermittent dragging of rear disk brakes.brakes have been replaced several times--dragging continues to this date--8/7/2014.vehicle has been taken to ford dealer--can't isolate the problem.

The contact owns a 2005 ford f-250. While driving 70 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and traveled to the floorboard. The rear breaks lock up on the caliper pins.the calipers and pads have been replaced under warrantee, and three times out of pocket.the ford dealer now says the problem lies in the caliper pin, after locking up buy new pins grease and you are good.this only last until the truck sits 3-5 days.when the breaks lock up the rear break are hot enough to catch on fire and the stopping abilities are impaired.you look on the internet and this is a very common problem with the superduty fords.there is no fix available.we are afraid to drive the vehicle because you never know when they will lock.you may drive to town fine but on the way home it is locked and dangerous.

2005 ford f250. Problem with the brake booster*cwthe consumer stated he has the same problem as the f150's that are being recalled, but ford advised him his model was not being recalled.

My kids and iwere driving on i-70 west coming from cambridge ohio to columbus. We hit a rough spot in the road and the front end started shaking violently from side to side. The whole truck was shaking. I let my foot off the accelerator and changed lanes. This did not stop the shaking. I went off on the berm and continued to slow down. At approx. 35-40 mph it stopped shaking. I checked the tires and all were fine. We proceeded on and roughly 10 miles down the road it did it again. I again took my foot off the gas and headed towards the berm, i did try hitting the brakes this time. Brakes made no difference. The shaking did not stop until we were between 35 and 40 mph. I have owned this truck since it had 5,000 miles on it and have traveled this road many times. The truck has always bounced around when hitting rough road surfaces, however, it stopped once past the rough spot. My truck is only used occasionally and has all of its original components it left the factory with, including the tires. I can not find any loose tie rod ends.once i got home i turned off the truck and when i went to restart it to pull into the garage the battery was completely dead. This could of been totally coincidence, however, i believe the violent shaking caused a battery plate to short out. In my opinion this is completely unacceptable and is not a safe condition for anyone to be in at highway speeds. If my wife had been driving, she would not have been able to control the vehicle.i appreciate your prompt attention to this matter as it could have very serious and unfortunate consequences for other owners who could experience this problem, at any time, without warning.

The contact owns a 2005 ford f-250. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph when the steering wheel suddenly veered to the right. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000. The vin was unavailable.

I experienced a severe and violent shaking of the front end of my 2005 ford f-250 truck while traveling 60 mph over a slight rough patch on a highway.i lost control of my vehicle and was forced to swerve off the highway.i was almost hit by the vehicle directly behind me. This is the third time i have lost control of the truck because of this violent shaking in the last month.i have had the truck to a local inspection station and they replaced the steering stabilizer and did an alignment.this did not help.i have called the ford dealer i purchased the truck from and they said they never heard of anyone having this problem with any ford truck.obviously, they are aware of the problem.i only hope there is a recall before too many people die.

I started this trip at the kentucky horse park, i-75 at exit 120. I had been driving an hour, heading north. This incident took place late afternoon, between 5pm and 6pm, broad daylight excellent visibility, dry, partly cloudy, traveling 65 mph in the center of three lanes. I was not tired nor distracted. I was northbound on i-75 in northern ky when i went over a minor bump, just rough pavement. I am absolutely certain there was no object in the road. After the bump the truck began steering erratically, wandering, much as it had 4 days earlier when i took it to my ford dealer and they replaced the front u-joints. I slowed down, got the truck under control, turned off the cruise control, and moved to the right lane. I heard a high-pitched screeching metal noise. Then i smelled burning rubber. I was alert and very aware of road conditions and the traffic (two lanes were merging from the right from i-275 so i was in the center of five lanes) and i am certain there were no objects in the road. The concrete was clear and smooth. I heard a loud bang under the right front of the truck and it took off to the right. It was immediately clear the truck was not responding to the steering wheel. I put both feet on the brake pedal, made my body rigid and pulled up on the steering wheel for maximum down force on the brake pedal. Completely out of control, i traveled across both lanes on my right (the merging lanes from i-275) and came to a stop with the left rear wheel on the concrete apron and all other wheels in the rocky soil that was the side of a ditch with a mountain on the other side. It was later determined that the tie rod end had snapped. One theory is that the tie rod end was over-hardened and became brittle, possibly cracked, then the new u-joints changed the stresses on it and it snapped. Insurance report, crash site and parts photos available on request.

I was on the interstate driving 70 mph when i hit a small bump in the road which caused my truck to shake violently and lose control of steering which took me off the road into the center median.this could have easily been a head on collision in different circumstances.

In driving my ford f-250 pick-up, i have experiences severe vibrations/oscillations at high (over 60mph) speeds.this occurs when the truck runs over a small imperfection in the road.these oscillations are quite severe - forcing emergency leave change/loss of control.when the truck slows down to about 40, the oscillations cease.this shaking is so severe it has damaged the paint on the hood due to the hood sloshing back and forth.it is definitely life-threatening.the ford dealer is at a loss, they do not know what to do.

On my 2005 ford diesel f250,after 126000 miles, steering became very loose. Had entire front end replaced including gear box. Rebuilder purchased motocraft rebuilt steering boxes from ford. Four of these rebuilt boxes were tried on the truck. None wereany good.builder said that this was a common problem with ford gear boxes. They indicated that the gear box rebuilders only replaced the bearings, not the worn-out gears within the box. The forth gearbox installed was even worse, it was dangerous. When driving on the freeway the truck would veer without warning into another lane and would be very difficult to correct. The truck is back in the shop again. This time to buy an after market (non ford) gear box. This vehicle's front end problem has so far cost me over $4000. In repairs, but , what is worse these gear box replacements could cause an accident.

Steering issue with my ford superduty f250. Since day 1 the steering while driving in a straight line tends to wander. Feels like you are driving a bumper car in traffic only hoping you do not hit anyone. Ford engineer said it was a problem they suppose to have fixed. It helped for a while aprox. 21/2 years but as the truck gets older it is starting to wander more. Has about 1-1 1/2" of play in the steering wheel. Its like driving a 1968 ford. Have read several other complaints from other ford buyers with same issue. Ford sent a notification a while back and stated that when this wandering occurred while driving to just slow down. Well that's all fine and dandy except my wife and i took our 2 horses to flagstaff ,az. A few weeks agofor a trail ride coming up from phoenix, az. We had to drive up through steep mountains and then come back down steep mountains. The speed limit is 75 but we were only doing 60-65 most of the time. My truck is rated to pull 12500 lbs. At one point the truck decided on its on to wander about 2 ft. Tothe right coming down a mountain at this point i was only doing about 60 fortunately since i was constantly having to work the steering wheel back and forth i was able to ease off the throttle and bring it back in line after awhile. Again feeling like we were playing bumper cars only this time with 2 horses in the trailer which the weight was only about 6000lbs. The horses were not moving around as they were beat from the days play. The whole ordeal really rattled us.this has been an issue for a long time and is only getting worst. I know i am out of warranty but since ford supposedly fix it before i think it is a real safety issue. It all points to a bad steering box or bad front suspension. We would have been killed had i not got this truck under control and the horses were not safe then. Any help would be appreciated as ford has not been much help to anyone. Their little notification to all owners of this problem should be a repair.

Cruising along the highway,if i hit a bump in the road doing any speed over 55 mph the truck begins to shake very badly!! so bad that i can hardly control the truck. Only way to make it stop is to slow to 40 mph. Very unsafe to drive on any highway!! there is no bad parts on this truck...

I have a 2005 ford f-250 and when going 55mph or up if you hit a bump in the road you are shaking out of control until you stop the truck ford said there was nothing wrong with it and that was at about 11,000 miles. Now at 30,000 miles it does it every day all day.

Driving on interstate and ran off onto rumble strips on side of road and wheel shake became extremely violent.had to bring vehicle down to 30 mph from 75 very quickly and almost was hit from behind doing so.have seen this and had it happen on older trucks that had excessive were in tie rods and worn front end parts but this truck is tight so i thought. First time for this and it was very frighten couldn't believe how violent shake was. Ford does need to address this or offer a fix before someone does get hurt. Wonder how many are out there that people have gotten rid of or never complained about it?

The contact owns a 2005 ford f250.while driving approximately 65 mph driving over a small road bump; there was a violent shake and vibration.unexpectedly, the vehicle loss control for approximately 6-8 seconds. There was a sudden release of the accelerator pedal; however, the driver was able to gain control of the vehicle and resume operation.the failure recurred at various speeds. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection; however, the technician was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on four separate occasions for the identical failures which there were no resolutions.the contact had concerns of the safety risk involved. The vin was unavailable. The failure mileage was 200.the current mileage was 47,000.

During highway speeds and you hit a set of bumps or a single bump my truck will violently shake at the front end.it feels like the whole front end of the truck is coming apart! ford will not admit anything is wrong..there are countless entries about this all over the web.. Is somebody going to do something??

A scary and serious wobble at 35 mph. Had to creep home. Almost lostcontrol.

The contact owns a 2005 ford f-250.while driving 65 mph, the vehicle shook violently and became difficult to steer after driving over a bump in the road.the contact stated that it was not a normal front end shake and continued driving home at a lower rate of speed.the dealer rotated the tires, but that did not correct the failure.the manufacturer advised her to call nhtsa and to take the vehicle back to the dealer.the current mileage was 30,400 and failure mileage was 18,000.

My truck violently shake at any time between 30 an 70 mph i have to slow down to make it stop which could cause a accident it happens in the city an highway

The contact owns a 2005 ford f-250. While driving approximately 65 mph, the contact drove over a bump and the vehicle began to immediately vibrate violently. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, where both front tie rod ends were replaced. The contact also recently received an advisory notification letter from the manufacturer in regards to steering wheel and front end vibrations when driving over bumpy road surfaces. The manufacturer advised owners to maintain proper tire inflation. The manufacturer was notified and made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 20.

I own a 2005 ford f-250 crew cab 4x4 long bed truck all stock.when driving at speeds above 55 miles per hour i experience violent shaking from the front end which is called death wobble after doing research.ford says that there is nothing wrong with the truck and that it is fine. The wobble only stops when my speed is decreased under 40 mph or so.when this happens the truck is extremely hard to control and requires you to slam on the brakes at high speeds.i have founds hundreds of people online with the same problem with the 05-06 super duty trucks.this has happened to me dozens of times and i'm tired of it.i put a larger size tire all the way around and it didn't help any.

The contact owns a 2005 ford f-250. The contact stated that the front started shaking between 55 and 65 mph. The vehicle was shaking excessively therefore; the speed would not increase. The vehicle was not inspected. The vehicle would also shake excessively while driving over a bump in the road. The dealer stated that they had not heard of the failure and that the warranty expired. The failure mileage was 45000 and the current mileage 50000.

The ford 250 initiates a 'death wobble' or intense shimmy in the front wheels at speeds greater than 50 mph anytime any small bump is encountered on road.this instance initiated 5 times in a 500 mile highway trip at such an intense rate that the vehicle lost significant steering control and had to be immediately decelerated to nearly 20 mph for it to stop. Initial speed was close to 63 mph. The shimmy initiated when a small bump is passed over and on three of these instances it initiated with the crossing of a expansion gap or transition from the highway to a bridge or bridgelike structure.the wobble shook truck so much that directional control was lost.approaching (traffic from the rear) had to swerve out of they way to avoid a rear collision.if deceleration is not immediately imposed the vehicle maintains the shimmy and directional control is severely compromised.in two instances on this trip i was able to nurse the wobbling vehicle off the road to the shoulder to then brake till control could be retrieved. However, there are many instances when access to the right side is impeded such as when passing in left lane.the same issue has happened before on a highway trip to another state 6 months before.

The contact owns a 2005 ford f-250. The contact stated that when while driving over a road bump, the vehicle would jerk violently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was then taken to a local mechanic who diagnosed that the vehicle needed to have a camber alignment performed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage was 91,000. Updated 02/27/12

Severe steering shake and front shimmy after going over roughness in road.vehicle had to be slowed to almost rest to stop shimmy. Has happened multiple times.

2005 ford f250 with approximately 19,100 miles.original factory tires, suspension- no modifications.tire pressure set to factory door label specs.on monday, 8-19-2019 while on i-95, travel speed at about 60 m.p.h., i drove over a bridge expansion joint & the entire truck started shaking violently.steering wheel was vibrating/shaking making it difficult for me to maintain control of the truck in my established lane and nearly took out several cars in the adjacent lanes nearly causing multi-vehicle collision.went on the internet & found thousands of similar complaints regarding this same issue i just experienced.later found out it is called harmonic resonance a.k.a. The death wobble.this dangerous situation affects not only the driver and the passengers in the defective vehicle, but to other unsuspecting motorist's and their passengers whom share the same roadways.

At anywhere between 45mph, and 70 the truck will wobble and shake out of control to the point where you can almost loose control.truck can barely be driven and is very unsafe

The contact owns a 2005 ford f-250.while driving 55 mph, the front end of the vehicle began to shake.the contact slowed the vehicle down and the tires blew out.the vehicle veered to the left and into oncoming traffic.the contact crashed into a mountain and the vehicle rolled over twice.there were no injuries.a police report was filed.the current and failure mileages were 65,197.

Everytime i exist the backside of a bridge my 2005 f-250 4x4 begins to shake so bad i am unable to continue driving and have to pull to the shoulder.

The contact owns a 2005 ford f-250. The contact stated that while driving 55 to 60 mph, a pot hole was hit and caused the vehicle to shimmy and shake out of control. The brake was engaged while at highway speeds to bring the vehicle under control. The dealer advised that the tie rods failed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 97,000.

Truck shakes when you hit a bump and it feels like riding on four basketballs bouncing at different times.

The contact owns a 2005 ford f250. The contact stated that the brakes would not fully engage without abrupt force being applied and the wheels would continue to roll as if the accelerator was applied. The vehicle had been taken to an independent mechanic for routine service.additionally, there was rust and corrosion on the beams for the truck bedding which exhibited an abnormal noise.the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign id number:06e087000 (service brakes, air). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 5000.

The contact owns a 2005 ford f-250. The contact heard a rattling sound underneath the vehicle while driving. The contact looked underneath the vehicle and noticed that the brackets to the vehicle were rusted and partially detached. The contact noticed that the frame underneath the vehicle, which attached the bed to the frame and the motor to the engine, was rusting. The contact noticed that the brackets were beginning to severely rust and slightly detach. When the vehicle was parked, the contact would sometimes notice pieces of the frame on the ground. The contact took the vehicle to the hender ford and ramsey's ford dealers where both places confirmed the rust failure to be an issue. The vehicle did not receive official diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vin was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 147,000.

My 2005 ford f250 super duty truck exhibits a condition referred to in forums as 'death wobble', in which the truck's front suspension shakes violently at highway speeds above 50 mph. This condition is generally brought on by either of the front wheels hitting any deviation in the road surface such as bridge expansion joints, potholes, etc. The condition is so bad that immediate loss of control can only be controlled by jerking of the steering wheel or an immediate reduction in speed, generally to 25 mph.i have experienced this condition several times over the past 9 years since purchasing this vehicle, most recently on july 12th while traveling on the 57 freeway in southern california at 65 mph. I was travelling in the left hand lane next to the carpool lane (in moderate traffic) when i rolled over a bridge expansion and the left front wheelstarted shaking violently and causing me to immediately apply my brakes to regain control.the severity seems to be greatly reduced when hauling a substantial load in the truck bed, but i did experience this twice while hauling a 20' cargo traileracross the country. I understand that a class action suit was filed against ford in june/2019 and that ford has been aware of this issue with other truck owners filing complaints regarding this condition. I personally have not gone to ford regarding this as it is a waste of my time. The components they replace do not cure the problem, as many truck owners will attest. In my research, i found a company in utah that provides an aftermarket kit that appears to fix the issue. As i am about to embark on another 6000 mile journey with my wife and family, i intend to purchase and install this kit on my vehicle. If i find upon returning that this kit has alleviated my truck's issue,i will re-contact nhtsa with my results.

The contact owns a 2005 ford f250. The contact was driving approximately 65 mph over a road bump when the vehicle began to jerk violently, causing it to travel uncontrollably across two lanes. The contact was able to regain control and resumed normally. The failure occurred on four separate occasions. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the upper ball joints were replaced. The failure continued to occur after the repair was performed. The manufacturer notified the owners that the vehicle could experience a potential shimmy and recommended that the tires be inflated to the correct pressure to prevent the defect. The manufacturer was made aware of the recurring problem. The approximate failure mileage was 47,000.

During highway speeds and you hit a set of bumps or a single bump my truck will violently shake at the front end.it feels like the whole front end of the truck is coming apart! ford will not admit anything is wrong..there are countless entries about this all over the web.. Is somebody going to do something??

The contact owns a 2005 ford f-250. The contact stated that the front end of the vehicle would shake whenever he drove over a bump. The failure occurred at all speeds. The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed. The contact replaced the tires himself, but the failure continued. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 12,000.

The contact owns a 2005 ford f-250. While driving various speeds, the vehicle suddenly vibrated and pulled to the left. While inspecting the vehicle, the contact discovered that the brake calipers were hot to the touch. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The local dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was 109,000.

When i hit a pot hole doing 50mph the front driver side starts to shake on uncontrollably pressure is ok. Brakes are new, what should i do to repair this ?

I just received from ford another notice about the out of control shimming that takes place concerningthe 2005 f- 250. Ford has does nothing to correct this problem other than to blow smoke at everyone about the tire pressure.since i bought this unit new,the tire have always been corrected to the proper amountor the correct tires been replaced. Still this issue takes place . Its an unbelievableterrifying shaking that takes place , and only stops when the truck gets to about 20-25 miles an hour. This occurred most recently, lastthat a car following me , pulled me over to tell me how it looked from the rear, to the point the person behind me was fearful for theirsafety as well. I refuse to let any member of the family drive this truck ,other than myself. There is certainly more to this issue than what ford is making out to be and all ford wants to do is blow smoke at us about the tire pressure.i've tried to sell this unit to no avail, as the dealers don't want to touch this unit and others have checked on line to have found out about it and asked me about it , and wanting to be honest i told them about it. So now i have a truck that i can't even sell at a deep discount. Thanks ford.

My ford f250 has a very dangerous wobble when i hit a bump on the highway. I have checked the tire pressure and all four tires are fine. After doing some research i had found that this is a on going problem with the ford sd trucks. Something has to be done or someone is going to get killed due to a bad accident. Every dealer that i talk to has never heard of this problem but yet i see it posted all over the internet. I am very upset and i am going to take legal action.

My truck violently shake at any time between 30 an 70 mph i have to slow down to make it stop which could cause a accident it happens in the city an highway

I was on the interstate driving 70 mph when i hit a small bump in the road which caused my truck to shake violently and lose control of steering which took me off the road into the center median.this could have easily been a head on collision in different circumstances.

Ford 2005 f250 4x4 super duty ,violent shaking.on sat may 30th at approx 11:00 am pacific standard time, i was traveling on the i 280 south freeway with my daughter to a soccer tournament in my 2005 f250 4x4 super duty truck. We were in cruise control going approx 55 mph. We drove over what i believe was a large expansion joint on the freeway. Immediately after we traveled over joint, the vehicle start to violently shake and vibrate. After a tense moment of complete terror as the vehicle became extremely difficult to control and continued to shake violently we came to a unsafe stop on the freeway. After the complete stop, i immediately had to speed up again to prevent being rear ended in the middle of the freeway. The rest of the trip was spent white knuckled traveling well below freeway speeds for fear of another episode of shaking . Every bump in the road was a scary reminder of what might happen again. My daughter is scared to travel in the truck and my wife has demanded that the problem be addressed immediately,or "sell the '!@#$% truck" . This is not an isolated incident. Ford motor company sent a notice informing me of the problem. They indicated it could be prevented with proper tire pressure. My tires were well within the range of pressure suggested. I know this because i checked them immediately when i arrived home. This is completely unacceptable and presents a major risk to the driver of these vehicles as well as the surrounding drivers. I almost lost control of my truck and had flashes of my daughter and i never making it home. There was a parent traveling behind us in a truck. They witnessed the violent shaking and said "i thought your axle was going to come undone and you were going to crash" .this is completely unacceptable and i will be taking my daughters and my experience to as many forums as possible until there is a full recall on these trucks. Ford is completely aware of the situation, don't let them get away this.

The contact owns a 2005 ford f-250.while driving 60 mph, the vehicle shakes violently.the failure initially occurred when she hit a small bump in the road.the vehicle is currently at the dealer for service.the dealer has not yet diagnosed the cause of failure.the vin, engine size, and # of cylinders were unknown.the current and failure mileages were 25,000.

Hit a bump going across a bridge on i-74. The entire truck began to shake violently for several hundred feet before i regained control of the vehicle. This is evidently what ford is calling a " shimmy" . I had almost no control of the vehicle at this point. If the shoulder of the highway was any narrower i would not be here today. This happened again two days later. I was almost rear ended at a speed of 60 mph. I don't know what to do, i'm still making payments on a truck that is unsafe to drive. This "shimmy " is going to get people killed.

Severe steering shake and front shimmy after going over roughness in road.vehicle had to be slowed to almost rest to stop shimmy. Has happened multiple times.

The contact owns a 2005 ford f-250. The contact stated that while driving 55-60 mph over a bump in the road, the front end began to shake violently. A local mechanic replaced the shimmy shock but the failure continued. The dealer had not inspected the vehicle. The contact received a notice from the manufacturer in 2009 stating advising him to keep the tires inflated. The contact stated that he had to slow down to 35-40 mph to get the shaking to stop. The vin was unavailable. The failure mileage was 125 and the current mileage was approximately 47,000.

A scary and serious wobble at 35 mph. Had to creep home. Almost lostcontrol.

2005 ford f 250 crewcab 4x4 front end shakes uncontrollably after hitting a bump at highway speeds. The entire vehicle bounces around to where other vehicle on the roadway have to swerve to get out of the way. Only way to stop it is to slow down to about 30 mph. I just recently had the steering stabilizer, drag link bar and shocks on the truck replaced along with tightening the steering gear box and it still continues to do the same thing.

Extreme front end wobble on my 2005ford f-250. Feels like the front end is going to tear itself apart.

Front end shakes violently when traveling faster than 50 mph when you hit a small imperfection in the road.

The contact owns a 2005 ford f-250. While traveling at 40 mph, both the front end of the vehicle and the steering wheel will begin to abnormally shake and vibrate without warning. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic where the contact was informed that the front shocks would need to be replaced. There were no prior warnings of the failure and the vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 30,000 and the current mileage was 74,000.

In the middle of the night, the horn started going off and and wouldn't stop until the batteries were disconnected. Took to the dealership, but they couldn't reenact the problem. They said that the air bag expands and can push on the horn. The only way to fix is remove the air bag which is behind the horn to fix whatever the problem is. We were told that we would have to pay for that.i think this is a ford issue and a horn is a safety issue and a very much needed part of a vehicle. So they took the fuse out of the horn so the horn wouldn't blare in the middle of the night.tried putting the fuse back in when the temperature isn't cold, but the horn immediately starts to blare and won't stop. Therefore, the truck has no horn. This is a big safety issue.

Purchased bf goodrich tires from discount tire 2 years ago, with 21000 miles on the tires one tire had tread separation which was replaced without incident in august 2015. In october 2015, while traveling at approximately 50 mph down hill on i-17 from sunset point the driver's side rear tire tread separated causing a near accident.the tire caused minor damage to the wheel well and had to obviously be changed.tire was replaced by discount.problem lies in the fact that we bought four tires all from the same stock.we anticipate similar problems with the remaining two but are not willing to risk our lives to find out when they will separate and go flat on us.we are now forced to buy two new tires at full value out of fear of the unknown as we transport our grandchildren often and have plans to take our travel trailer out.the bf goodrich tires are 275/65 r20 (beot uh11 0212).

The wheels on my truck are cracking and breaking. They are 20x8 inch forged aluminum factory installed oemequipment. This is the second wheel i have had to replace at a very expensive cost. The first one i thought may have been a fluke as my truck has never been impacted at the tire or wheel areas.i have done a little research and i have found many complaints from many truck owners. This is a very serious and dangerous issue.i have been involved in the automotive industry for many years and i have not seen anything like this issue. This isuue can and will happen while vehicle is parked or moving, more probable while in motion. The first time this happened the truck had 80000 miles on it.

The contact owns a 2005 ford f-250. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the contact discovered cracks on both thefront passenger and rear driver's side wheels. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The manufacturer wascontacted. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 80,000 and the current mileage was 90,000.
