I have paid over $6.000 dollars to my local ford dealer to fix my truck just to have them tell me there is no way to fix the problem, its a design flaw from ford that can not be fixed. I have been back and forth with ford motor company, i have been lied to, strong along, calls not returned and so on. The design flaw has to do with the egr. And today its seems the 3rd new turbo stopped working and the motor has started to have a bad vibration. This has been a nightmare and even though ford kept telling me they will take care of me, nothing has happened. When the turbo failed as i was trying to get onto the freeway i had no power and nearly was rear ended by an 18 wheeler who was extremely angry. I had to stay off the freeway on other roads till i could get home. The truck developed a bad vibration and i was not sure i would get it home. If i would had been told by ford the first time i took it in of the design flaw and there is no way to fix it, i would have never poured so much money into it. It is a lemon and should have been recalled. I have talked to many people and researched this truck. I found out ford new of this design flaw and that their customers would have these problems but released the truck to us anyway. I now can't afford to put any more money into this truck, i can't fix it, i can't sell it, and ford will not do anything to help me. When i found out i was lied to and caught them and said, i now you have been lying to me and i do not trust you, i was labeled a hostel customer. I ask you, who likes to be lied to? this has been going on into 2 years now. Now i have no truck. I am interning where it asks "when this happened" today's date. Please help. Thank you.

Failed smog and every time sensors are replaced failure happens again.

The check engine light came on and we pulled over then when i put the truck into drive to pull out it barely moved. We were almost hit bc the truck wouldn't move so i put in in reverse to get out of the road and it did fine. So i tried to pull out again n drive and again it wouldn't go no matter how much gas i gave it. It sounds like something is drownding out or it isn't getting gas. But like i said. It won't go forward in drive or 1st or 2nd. Only in reverse will it move normally. This is major!!! i can't have my kids at risk bc there's something wrong with the truck. I have only had the truck about 3 weeks so it's very frustrating.

The contact owns a 2003 ford f-250. While driving 65 mph, the vehicle began to stall without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the turbo needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to penske ford (located at 8970 la mesa blvd, la mesa, ca 91942, (619) 464-7777), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 72,000.

The truck had what sounded like valve tap going on when it was started. I thought nothing of this since truck is a 2003 but this was a change from earlier trip. I proceeded to drive the truck since no warning lights were on and power seemed fine. Going 35-40 mph about 1 mile from home i heard what sounded like a shotgun going off and the truck began to run badly and i limped it home with windows down because of gas smell. The next day i opened the hood to see what was going on and i found cylinder #2 had blown apart the coil pack and had also ejected the spark plug from the cylinder head. Following that i took removed all other coils and plugs to find that 5 of the 8 were loose and working their way out of the threads. I believe that the only thing that prevented an engine fire was the fact that the spark plug had shorted itself out. This is a serious problem. I have since found that the problem seems to be on many years and models and is due to faulty cylinder heads that were made of aluminum that was to soft. The spark plugs had been replaced once and i checked them after i bought the truck used, i tightened to correct specs with a torque wrench.

3rd spark plug on passenger side blew out without warning and also destroyed the coil.my research indicates this problem is well known to ford, but no recalls that i could find.

The contact owns a 2003 ford f-250. The contact stated that in order to keep the vehicle's engine on, the hazard lights and headlights had to be activated; however, the lights did not illuminate. #5 sparkplug shot out of the head when starting vehicle.

My truck shuts off while driving for no reason whatsoever. The lights come and it throws no codes at all. I have experienced this while driving down the road at speeds of 50 or less. But it doesn't matter it still dies just the engine. I have not seen one investigation by the government at all. And as i go online many people are suffering the same fate to where people have gotten into accidents... I want answers!!! we need answers as this is a serious problem. The engine just dies but i don't lose electrical power, but i do lose steering and it's very hard to control the truck at these times. Ford denies everything and will not help at all withoutmoney in hand!!! this is wrong... We need government to step in and help!!!

I just entered a safety complaint regarding brake rotors rusting (( 10328142 ) on my 2003 ford f250 7.3 l diesel. This complaint regards rusting out radiator hose brackets. On july 6 th 2007 a radiator hose clamp rusted out , and i rapidly lost cooling, while on interstate 68 in md traveling at 65 mph towing a travel trailer. I managed to stop the vehicle and trailer safely but had to be towed to a dealer for repairs. This was on a 4 year old truck.( just recently in conjunction with the rotor problem a wiring clamp rusted out under the body leaving loose dangling wires.at the time i thought it was a single rusting issue. Now that i am experiencing multiple failures i know the problems are more extensive.

Have a 2003 ford f-250 with the 5.4l triton engine i have owned the truck approx. 6months and in a matter of 1000 miles i have blown 2 spark plugs and inserts out, this repair has cost me $300 each time and $150 in towing fees,i am waiting to see when the other ones will blow, this problem is well known by all mechanics and make the repairs often, if this problem is so well known maybe ford should address this issue and demand a recall of all vehicles with this well known issue, this problem also causes other issues, like engine fires due to the fuel fumes escaping from where the spark plug should be, when i try to research this problem i see that there is a website dedicated to this truck and problem so apparently ford is waiting for an engine blowup to kill someone before they take this seriously.

While driving at any speed vehicle stalled.consumer restarted the vehicle, and drove it to the dealer for inspection numerous times.however, mechanic could not duplicate the problem.

I then had to replace all four brakes and rotors at a considerable cost to me. . the truck had 33,309 miles on it and was stored and used similar to three other older vehicles i ownedthe same thing occurred on this truck at 19,750 miles when it was 3 years old. The earlier rust issue was covered under warranty. Rusting brake pads are unacceptable in today's world. I have never had this type of problem in the past and suspect ford is using sub standard steel. Other parts on this truck have rusted out and i will enter separate reports on those problems.

While applying the brake pedal vehicle vibrated uncontrollably. Vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic replaced the brake drums. However, the problem recurred.while driving 60 mph vehicle stalled without warning. The driver tried to restart the vehicle and was not able to do so.vehicle was towed to a dealer for inspection, andmechanicdetermined that transmission needed to be replaced.*tc

When taking off from either a stop sign or light vehicle failed to accelerate forward properly.this caused the vehicle to stall at an inopportune time.itswas an ongoing problem.consumer took vehicle to dealership 6 times in 1 1/2 years, and was informed by dealer thatproblemwas low rpm power, which was poor torque, and an improper gear ratio in transmission.the consumers foot contacts the accelerator pedal hanger when attemptingto depress the pedal to the floor.the engine runs rough at idle 750 rpm causing the vehicle to vivrate.at speeds between 750 and 1000 rpm the engine will not maintain a constant speed.speed fluctuates up and down rapidly.the engine produces very little power at low rpm's below 1500.other problems with the vehicle are as follows:defective fuel injectors, leaking rear main seal, leaking brake line junction block, leaking gaskets on rear transmission housing, and broken fasterner on the metal line.*tc

While driving 30 mph, the consumer noticed the steering wheel being out of line. After ten minutes of driving. All the power steering was lost. This caused the consumer to run head on into a wall. This was caused by the center link falling apart.

The contact owns a 2003 ford f-250. The contact was informed of nhtsa campaign number: 05v017000 (vehicle speed control). Driving 60 mph or greater and hit a bump the front end will violently shake and you have to pull over and slow way down to stop it. There was a recall for nr 62 parts but that doesn't stop the dodge death wobble. This is going to cause an accident and kill someone. Dodge will not reimburse me for the repairs that i paid for that included the recall nr62. The repairs were done before i received the recall. In the recall it is stated that they would pay for repairs if they were already done. Everyone one seems to know about the dodge death wobble but won't fix it.

Driving 50-60 hit a bump and the truck goes into a violent wobble, unable to control the breaks and steering. This last time i was on the interstate and it caused me to enter the lane next to me nearly causing an accident. The other driver was able to avoid me. When the shaking stops, the truck runs smooth without any sign of a problem. I am afraid of myfamilies safety!!!

While traveling on the highway the steering column has a lot of play inside of the steering wheel.please provide additional information dealer is aware of the problem. Ts

While driving and making a left turnsteering wheel was hard to turn.this caused the driver to apply both hands to turn the vehicle.consumer drove the vehicle to the dealer forinspection, and mechanic replaced the steering hydraulic power assist pump a month ago. However, problem recurred.

2003 ford f 2504x4alignment 6 times... This truck eats tires..friend has 2005 aligned 4 times... Dealer says not a problem... Must be as i had a 1991 for 12 years and not alignment problem.

When traveling at highway speeds and you hit a pothole or bump in the road the front end of the vehicle shimmies to point of being uncontrollable. Once you slow down the problem goes away. This has occured on at least 3 different occasions. Once at approximate mileage 16,100, 20,600 and 21,009. The speed was at highway speed 60-65 mph.

2003 f250, upon hitting a pot hole in the highway the truck began to shake violently and uncontrollably, resulting in a quick braking and exit of highway. Once at low speeds problem did not persist, only happened after impact with pot hole.

The contact owns a 2003 ford f-250. The contact stated the seam that holds the roof in place fractured from the front of the vehicle to the rear. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer whoadvised him that they were aware of the failure and that he would need to have the seal grind out and replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000. In 2 hours i located 12 additional ford vehicles at dealerships with the same problem. 2006 and older vehicles including my own 2005 freestar. I believe if involved in an accident the roof will dislodge causing the occupants to be ejected. The manufacture was contacted they are aware and refused to assist. Updated 10/18/2011 *ln

The contact owns a 2003 ford f-250. The contact stated that the vehicle made an abnormal noise and stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to a dealer who replaced the oil pump. The dealer diagnosed that the four bolts were rusted with corrosion and the bolts, which were not in place and the j-tube internally fractured. The dealer replaced the four bolts and the j-tube. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.

On 10/11/14 we were traveling from our home in havelock, nc to the charlotte area.with about 20 minutes into the trip we felt a violent vibration and then the rear passenger tire blew!miraculously, my husband was able to pull his ford f-250 pickup to the side of the road and thankfully no one was hurt!the tire was flat with much of the tread separated from the tire.also, significant damage was caused to the wheel well of the truck because of the blowout.after having allstate motor club come and assist us, and replace the blowout, we were on our road again.three days later on october 14th we were headed back to havelock when once again the truck began to shake violently.my husband made it to my brother-in-laws driveway, got out and noticed the front passengers tire had a major bubble in it.we almost had a second tire blowout! now we were thinking there must be something wrong with these tires since two of them failed within 3 days.the tires on our truck are bf goodrich mud terrain t/a km2lt285/75r16 dot # bfyucf213810. These tires on our pickup have plenty of tread left on them and should not have failed! i have been in contact with michelin (the parent company of bf goodrich).they told me to go to my local family tire to have them inspect our tires and then have them contact michelin on their findings. They also said i would need the blown out tire, which i no longer have, to receive any compensation for that.i believe i am in for a "run around" from michelin before i receive (if i do receive) any kind of compensation.i've seen online too where several similar tires from bf goodrich have been recalled due to tread separation.i do believe the tires mentioned above are unsafe and could cause loss of life!i also believe michelin is putting the almighty dollar before human safety!

Replaced 4 new tires on my ford f-250 truck 9/20/2013. Yokohama geolandar h/t-s, lt235/85r16. On approximately 5/10/2016, while on freeway, began to feel a vibration while driving. Felt like wheel out of balance. The left rear tire tread came off the tire causing severe damage to the truck bed. Approximately 28,500 miles on the tires. Tire remained inflated. I contacted yokohama to open a case file. I sent them the tire for examination per their request. They sent me the analysis back with a bunch of photos blaming the failure on road debris.approximately 5 weeks later on 7/2/2016 i experienced the same vibration while on a trip out of town. This time the right rear tire tread came off the tire causing severe damage to the right side truck bed. Approximately 29,000 miles on the second tire. Contacted yokohama to open another case file. Currently in litigation as of 3/3/2017 for $7,111 for vehicle damage and 4 new tires. Fortunately nobody was hurt because of these defective tires.

Vehicle pulled to the right while driving 60-70 mph. Vehicle was taken to the dealer, and had both lower ball joints replaced. Consumer was concerned since both ball joints had less then 20,000 mile of wear.

All four tire go flat. Dealer notified.ph

Consumer stated while driving noticed vibration. Vehicle was serviced, technician changed rim,but tires still have problems. Technician put four michelin tire on the vehicle. Vibration continued to exist. Consumer don't think its the tires, she believes it's something major like the driveshaft. *ph

The consumer stated when she purchased the vehicle theodometer read 21607, however when she ran a car fax report, the odometer read 45002 back in sep 2004 and on oct 13, 2004 the odometer read 20656. There was noise in the rear of the vehicle when the consumer let off the accelerator.

Failed smog and every time sensors are replaced failure happens again.

2003 ford f250 was in the shop due to failure to start and it caught on fire.***no answer required****. *mr

On march 2nd 2015, my 2003 ford f-250 caught fire on it's own. No one was home at the time and luckilymy neighbors called 911.this truck was recalled for a faulty speed control switch. The entire engine compartment was torched. This truck is not repairable.

The contact owns a 2003 ford f-250. The contact stated that while driving at 40 mph, the vehicle lost power as the contact attempted to accelerate. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the accelerator pedal needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 273,000.

Ford's recall policy for cruise switches only allows for disconnect of switch. If the switch is leaking brake fluid ford offers no fix for this potentially serious problem. Dealers, while not having all repair parts, have switches they can install to stop the leak but ford will not pay for this repair.

Vehicle was running rough. There was a problem with the cruise control. When the cruise was set, it would kick off with the brake or come to a complete stop and the cruise would re-engage.the re-engaging would occur intermittently. *scthe engine lost power.

Vehicle was parked in the garage for about 15 hours when all of sudden it caught on fire. Took vehicle to dealer for acheck up, but the cause was undetermined at this time, however,it seemed to be a similar problem to an electrical short withinthe cruise control switch.
