On monday may 12 i was involved in a car accident.i am concerned because my air bad did not activate.i was driving a 2001 ford f250, going around 40-45 miles per hour.i ran into the back of a person that was sitting stopped at a red light.i never hit my brakes so i hit her straight in the rear.why type of impact does it take for the sensor to go off for air bags? *nlm

Vehicle was involved in a frontal crash while traveling approximately 40 to 45 mph.both frontal air bags failed to deploy during this crash. Dealership has vehicle. No determination as to cause of problem.passengersustained head and leg injuries.please provide any additional information / documentation.

The airbags failed to deploy, when the vehicle hit a tree.

Front crash at 50 mph, neither airbag deployed. Driver suffered neck injury, damage to vehicle was 8000 dollars. There is a recall, 01v082, however ford informed consumer that this vehicle was not included.

Air bags failed to inflate in a head on collision.

Dt: abs brakes, air bags, and fuel system failed.at 4700 miles they replaced the entire brake system. Had it a mechanic shop anddiscovered it was theabs. While going 55 mph andmakinga left hand turn kept pushing the brakes and nothing happenedcausinga wreck. Kept takingvehicle to ford, theycouldnot find anything wrong.upon impact, air bags also did not deploy.also, fuel lines shut off.this happened onmarch 15, 2002.

While driving 55 mphvehicle was involved in a head on collision. Upon impact, dual airbags did not deploy. No injuries reported.

Dt*:the contact stated while driving 45 mph a vehicle pulled out in front of the contact causing a crash.the air bags did not deploy.a police report was filed and the other driver was injured.

While driving 45 mph consumer heard a loud noise and pulled over. Consumer saw the spark plug was defective, and drove home.dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

Driving at night, tried to use cruise control (didn't come on) then overdrive "on" button started flashing, then speedometer began bouncing. Later truck would not go off when key was turned to off position.next day a low beep was noted. Repair shop with scanner said it was an airbag warning beep. The following day the headlights came on at night although the key was to the off position and out of the truck. Subsequently all symptoms stopped and normal operation returned until a rainy day. Same symptoms. Day following that, normal operation. Mechanic states that symptoms need to be occurring to make proper diagnosis.

The truck burst into flames while parked. It had been sitting for over 13 hours at the time of the fire. It destroyed one car on either side of it. The fire investigator could not say exactly what caused the fire at the time, but made me aware of a recall on that year of ford vehicles involving the speed control safety deactivation switch. Information on the recall says that the wire could heat up and cause a fire. The truck along with two other vehicles were completely destroyed in the fire.

The contact owns a 2001 ford f-250. The contact received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 05v017000 (vehicle speed control). While the vehicle was parked, smokespontaneously emerged from under the hood and the vehicle caught fire without warning. The contact extinguished the fire. The vehicle was taken to battlefield ford commercial truck center (8980 mathis ave, manassas, va 20110, (703) 368-3231) who stated that they were waiting on authorization. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A fire report was not filed and there were no injuries. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 144,840.

We bought the truck on 06/17/07 and never had any problem with it. The day before the incident i drove the truck and park it at 6pm, take the key out and put it under the mate. The next day at about 10:30am or 11 am i smiled some thing burning, i looked over and saw a cloud of smoke coming from the truck, i tried to but the fire out with the fire extinguisher, but no luck. The fire done spread every where. Called 911 and by the time they got there the fire got the truck and the side ofa house that was parked next to it.

While i was driving along a hilly, winding road the engine of my 2001 f-250 diesel 4x4 truck unexpectedly shut off.i lost steering and braking. There were no lights on the dash. There was no prior indication of any problem with the engine or electrical system. I've had the truck for 12 years at the time and never experienced any problem like this.i was very fortunate to have been able to get the truck to the road's shoulder. After the truck stopped i put the shift into park. The key was still in the run position. I simply turned it to the start position and the engine started right up.i took it immediately to the local ford dealer who ran diagnostics on the truck.they found no indication of a problem other than one battery's voltage was slightly low, but not out of acceptable range. I replaced both batteries as they were almost 3 years old.so far, i've not experienced this problem again.

While shopping my f250 tryed to burn down in parking lot 2nd time at a school soccer game and 4 the third time right in front of my house and still after thousands in repairs still same issue ford needs to man up an address this situation.....[xxxx]key never in truck all three times this has occuredredacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2001 ford f-250. The contact stated that during rainy weather, the general electric module would become wet and cause the vehicle to malfunction. The contact stated that the failure would also cause the vehicle to start independently, the lights would flash and the turn signals would illuminate independently. In addition, the air bag warning light was illuminated. The dealer stated that they were aware of the failure and made a cover for the part.the contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told there was a leak coming from the windshield that was allowing water to enter the general electronic module. The vehicle was not repaired.the failure mileage was 180,000 and the current mileage was 240,000.

The contact owns a 2001 ford f250. He stated the instrument panel continued to fail. The vehicle was taken to his independent mechanic where they changed the fuse. Immediately afterward, the fuse blew. The fuse was changed again and shortly after, while putting the vehicle into the park position, the fuse made a "pop" noise and the instrument panel failed again. The manufacturer was contacted and advised taking the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnosis. No further repairs were made to the vehicle, to date. The failure and current mileages were approximately 62,436.updated 4/7/2010 updated 06/28/10

We were notified by police and fire department officials that there was a fire in our yard.our ford 250 was on fire and had not been driven for around 4 hours.upon investigation the fire marshall indicated the location of where the fire began and presumed it was the brake pressure switch based on its location.the car has been totaled and caught another vehicle on fire next to it.

Dt*: the contact stated while the vehicle was idle, a fire erupted which was caused by a faulty electrical system.the fire originated from the engine compartment front underhood.there were no warning signals prior to the incident.upon inspection, the cruise control deactivation switch and wiring for the electrical system was observed to be completely burnt to the ground.a fire report was taken# 06-017205.also, the manufacturer was notified, but would not offer any resolution while this case was under investigation.

Fire in ford f-250 pick-up truck.parked in garage for about 2 hours.owner saw initial fire in engine compartment on driver's side. Remains of cruise control deactivation switch were found and x-rayed; internal contacts were splattered from electrical arcing. Fuse #13 was a 20 amp device and was the only one blown.according to ford wiring diagrams, that circuit fed the cds.the owner reported that the cruise control quit working last summer.the dealership told him it needed a new cc module and would cost $150.00.owner elected not to spend the money at that time.

The contact owns a 2001 ford f-250. While the vehicle was idling at a stop sign, the contact heard a loud abnormal popping noise coming from the engine compartment. The contact drove the vehicle to an independent mechanic where they replaced the spark plug taps and diagnosed that the intake manifold needed to be replaced. The manifold was not replaced. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The failure mileage was 128,000.

While traveling at approximately 35 mph on a city street, the spark plug was blown out of the cylinder destroying the threads, coil pack and spark plug.

2001 ford f250. Consumer writes in regards to issues with the motor. *ldthe consumer stated the motor would back fire and blow out. The consumer stated there was a recall on the motor, but the manufacturer would not honor the recall.the consumer stated the vehicle blew it's last spark plug.

I was in the process of running a medical in my personal truck when i starting the engine it popped and when i checked it out i noticed the engine blew out a spark plug. So when i called the parts store they said the type of motor i have in my truck is bad for blowing them like that and to fix it would cost a pretty penny so my question is if you all and ford knows theres a problem how come they dont have to fix i know so far it hasnt been an saftey issue yet when will it be or is it a consumer issue.

The cylinder head gaskets are a manufacturer defect. They used inferior quality gaskets which result in engine malfunction. This manufacturer defect pertains to a 2001 ford f-250 super duty 5.4l v8. I am aware this issue became prevalent in 1999 ford f-250 models and this issue carried forward to 2001. There was a recall for this issue for 1999 models - $4,500 per unit to replace complete engine assemblies where this manufacturer defect was most prevalent with cylinder head gaskets. Ford did not rectify this safety issue as it persisted in their 2001 models. A recall is necessary to rectify this manufacturer defect. Was driving truck all of sudden i heard a loud pop then loud sound coming from under the hood.called husband and took truck back home (approximately 2 miles).husband started researching problem and found online that several people have had spark plugs explode and heard similar sound, this caused him to remove wires and inspect spark plugs.one of the spark plug had popped out and now the threads can't be used.i believe this is a known problem and ford should be responsible for the damage.

Spark plugs keep blowing out of the engine, while accelerating, has done five times,, when it does vehicle stalled possibly care cause an accident, almost got hit by a truck trying to turn,

5 th ejected spark plug going down road at 45 mph

Spark plug spit from motor smashing coil pack. 5.4 liter triton motor. This has happened three more times. I have lost four plugs to this engineering disaster. At a cost of one dealer repair, and time off work to repair the other three. Once i had to be towed over fifty miles. After what i have read, their should be a remedy to this problem. Why not!

While driving at 40 mph engine sputtered.consumer pulled over, and opened the hood, andnoticed that the spark plugsseparated from where itwas connected to the engine. The spark plugs were laying on top of the engine.vehicle was towed to a dealership, and mechanic determinedthat this occurred because of a failure with the aluminum engine motor head.

Faulty engineering on a 2001 ford expedition. Spark plugs under pressure just pop right out of the head. The ford barely hit a 100,000 miles. Ford boasts that tune ups are not necessary until a 100,000 miles. Well anyways the spark plug shot out of the head and the end result is that it will cost me $2,000 dollars to replace the entire aluminum head. After talking with other owners and doing some internet homework with on consumer affairs, i noticed at least a hundred other people with the exact same model ford and that have had the same exact problem.

Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle's exhaust manifold inner fender well cracked due to salt and weather and the bolts fractured off.the service dealer was unable to fix the issue.

The consumer's 2001 ford f250 super duty caught on fire under the hood while parked in the consumer's barn.the fire started under the front hood on the driver's side. *sc

The contact owns a 2001 ford f250.the engine has a boil heater that will keep the oil heated in the vehicle.the contact has had to replace two of them within five years.it was discovered that the plug to the oil heater was defective and caught fire.the fire burned the front license plate of the vehicle and front bumper caught on fire.the vehicle is currently in his possession and he replaced the part himself.the current mileage was 170,000 and failure mileage was 60,000.updated 03/18/08.*ljupdated 03/18/08

My ford f-250 had been parked outside my sons home for approx 2 hrs. When a neighbor informed me that it was engulfed in flames. The fire dept. Was called to extinguish it. There was nothing salvageable.

While driving 55 mph, heard a load bang and then a steady popping sound. After pulling off road to check problem open the hood to see the coil exploded and arching against fuel rail, and spark plug on the valve cover. Got the truck home started researching this issue and i see this is a common problem yet ford says it isn't. My best educated repair solution is cal van 38900 ford 5.4l spark plug port repair kit at a cost of 250 . It took a day and a half to do a complete repair. Seems to be working but ford has a problem and should do something for the owners should it happen. They cant say this is a torque issue this are the factory plugs and coil. So if they torque them wrong at the factory.

The consumer stated at 27,000 miles his 2001 ford f250 developed an engine vibration. The consumer was told there was no fix for the problem.when the consumer applied the brakes, there was a vibration.the dealer machined the front rotors and replaced the pads that were cracked. There was a rattle noise coming from under the vehicle.the exhaust shields were loose, the hose clamp on the radiator was replaced and the power door lock was replaced.

The ford f250 truck(2001) was parked outside of heb grocery store for approximately 30 minutes when witnesses saw sparks shooting out from underneath the vehicle seconds before it caught fire.the entire engine compartment burned and began to consume the cab before the fire department put out the fire. The ford f250 cruise control was used the previous two days and was having intermittent problems during a trip (~900 miles).

Consumer noticedcoolant leaking coolant from the engine.dealer statedit wasnormal for this vehicle to leak antifreeze.

The contact owns a 2001 ford f250. The contact stated while driving 5 mph the engine caught on fire. There were flames coming from under the vehicle. After stopping on the side of the road, the entire vehicle was engulfed in flames. The fire department was called and put the fire out. A report was available if needed. The origin of the fire was unknown. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who will inspect the vehicle. The manufacturer was contacted who stated they will send a representative out within the next twenty days to inspect the vehicle. The failure mileage was 220,000.updated 09/27/11 updated 10/05/11

The engine stalled while driving 10-15 mph.the dealer determined that the camshaft sensor had to be replaced. *nlm the camshaft sensor had given off false positive readings which resulted in the computer shutting down the engine.this was a common problem according to the service writer. *scc

Dt: the contact complained aboutanoil ring failure the engine while driving.the engine was making a fluttering sound, and the oil gauge indicated a rapid loss of oil pressure. He pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road. Upon inspecting the vehicle, he discovered the oil ring had blown out of the engine. He added enough oil to the engine to be able to drive the vehicle into his certified repair shop. Repairs were made to the vehicle at the contact's expense.

When coming to a stop engine acts like it wants to keep going, this has happened 8 times since july. Vehicle taken to 2 dealers, neither couldfind the cause.please add further comments.

When the vehicle is at a complete stop and consumer will try to start movingvehicle will go into idle and not move for about 10-15 seconds before moving again. Contacted dealer, and theyare aware ofproblem, but can't remedy it.

Upon entering the highway, the truck suddenly started having problems, the r.p.m. Gauge started fluctuating from 1000 to 3000 r.p.m., it squealed and jerked into gear and a popping noise was coming from the right side of the front end. The dealer could not find any problem, but he suggested that it could have been the clutch fan slipping.consumer experienced again what he felt was transmission problems but the light never flashed on the overdrive column so taking note of what was happening and continued driving. Then the light started flashing on the overdrive column, within seconds, consumer noticed a large puff of black smoke coming from under the truck, the r.p.m.gauge went to below 1000, the truck lost all power, and the cab started filling with smoke, fire was escalating under the truck and hood. Possible engine failure.*yd

-the contact has a blown head gaske, and white smoke was coming from exhaust system.temperature gauge was up due to mixture of antifreeze in oil. I was in florida having coffee at the picnic table when i noticed the fuel tank was hanging low. I was lucky to catch it before it fell off on the freeway. I can send you a picture. I understand there is a recall on other ford pickups 150's and 250's but not my model year, my year truck should be included.

Parked vehicle at main post office , removed keys, i know this because it has my pobox key on key ring. I hopped out and stated to walk off, then i glanced a view to the right, and noticed or thought i noticed, my truck rolling backwards. It was !!!i chased my truck and caught up to it, and attempted hop in and engage foot brake. I am to fat and slow to do that, so i thought quickly, , ah ha, the emergency brake . I reached down and let the truck roll the er brake to my hand, and engage iti called the ford dealer, no know issues like this has happened, so i was told. So maybe this was an 1 off event,,,, right wrongseveral month later, same thing happen, different location. Although i catch before i got out. This time i took a video of the roll back, and the snifter in park, and the keys out

For the r4100 transmission. The external transmission filter came apart and destroyed my transmission (ford part # xc3z-7b155-ba) definitely not a 30,000 mile filter. Not many people know anything about this,of what i have found. There was a easy 80,000 left in the trans if lines and oil ports weren't plugged from filter fibers.#2 the paint cancer (white) is there any recalls or help with that?

Consumer states that while driving can feel transmission slipping. Contacted dealer. Transmission failing. Please provide moreinformation.*mr

Consumer said the vehicle was shifting improperly. Tookvehicle to dealer, anddealer indicated that transmission needed to bereplaced.

Consumer stated the transmission will get stuck in 1st gear at times and will not upshift unless consumer lets off the accelerator, on one occasion, when the consumer pressed on the gas pedal nothing happened and then all of a sudden the vehicle suddenly accelerated, also the transmission would shift erractically on light acceleration.

While driving 55mph and hitting passing gear, vehicle went into idle, it would not accelerate. Dealer contacted. Consumer states recently when attempting a lane change at 70 mph, the rpms dropped to 600, consumer pumped the accelerator twice before the engine began to accelerate again, consumer states this is an intermittent problem.

Automatic transmission was making a noise while driving. Vehicle was taken to the dealer, who replaced the driveline.1200 miles later, transmission had to be replaced again.

Ford had installed a wrongpart in the transmission. It was an automatic transmission, andfordput in a clutch that destroyed the transmission.

Automatic fails to shift into lower gears for engine braking. When decending a steep grade the automatic transmission fails to apply. This has the same effect of putting the truck in neutral when going down hill. When driving in the mountains this is extremely dangerous in that it requires the brakes to do the work of slowing the truck. If the brakes overheat then the truck will "run away".

Transmission problem.while drivingtransmission burned up. Contacted dealer, anddealer was not willing to do anything.

The automatic transmission is not shifting correctly causing the vehicle to jerk.a transmission technician determined that the sprag failed and the transmission must be rebuilt.please provide further details.

The sprag clutch is breaking across in two sections. *mr the material was made out of a iron/powder mixture.the vehicle was in normal use when the incident occurred.the consumer felt that the repair should be under warranty due to the low mileage. *sc

Dt*: the contact stated the transmission became stuck in 1st gear at times and would not upshift unless theaccelerator pedal was release. This occurred under normal road conditions. The nature of the failure was permanent gradually worsened. The service dealer was not able to determine the nature of the failure.

We had this truck into a dealership 9 days prior to the fire for what we thought were transmission problems, the dealership failed to find any problem with our truck and advised us that there was nothing that prevented us from driving it.9 days later we were experiencing the same problems and felt the need to get another opinion so we were in route to a dealership and did not make it due to the truck failing and catching fire.transmission fluid escaped the filler tube and went on the ehaust manifold which caused a flash fire.we were fortunate to get ourselves and our small children out of the truck in time.the dealership prior to the fire said that if we were in fact having transmission problems that we would have seen the overdrive light on the shifter column flashing, this never occurred which leads us to believe that there may be a failure in the computer of this truck that they refused to find.we pleaded with the service advisor at this dealership to investigate what could have caused the problems we were experiencing and they refused.now we have a truck that has been at a dealership for almost 90 days and they have yet to find the cause of fire.and due to the fire ford motor company refuses to take responsibility to their product.they denied helping us and referred us to our insurance company.we have incurred a drastic financial loss due to this and fear being put back in this vehichle knowing that it could happen again, becaus the initial cause of fire has not been found.we have faught a hard fight with allstate insurance to get them to fix our truck properly to no avial.we know of others that are experiencing similar problems and we feel ford needs to pay attention to this mecahnical failure, due to faulty production of these trucks with their transmissions.

From the beginnig there was trouble when starting the engine (very long crank). The vehicle was serviced at least 3 times for this problem and was never solved. Then a few months later, while driving at a speed of about 70 mph, the entire system shut off (engine, electric, everything) and after a few terrifying seconds it would all kick back on. When the engine kicked back on there was a major jolt to the engine (and to the passengers). This happened several times even after the truck was taken in for servicing to "correct" the problem. Lastly, while returning home from vacation, we noticed that the truck was shifting hard, lunging rather than shifting smoothly. After stopping for a toll and then proceeding the engine almost cut out and would not go passed 2nd gear. We were in a very bad section of town and there was no way in hell we were going to stop. So we drove slowly to a relatives house that was closest to where we were. We have contacted ford's customer service department in the past and were not at all satisfied with their handling of the situation. All they did was call the dealership and relay the same information we had already given them. Now we are being told that ford must put in a whole new "different" transmission, why? they must already be aware of the problem because we were told by one of their mechanics "yeah, we had a couple of other trucks come in with the same problem. They were diesels too". Hmmm.

Failure to repair apparent defect @4000 miles under ford's bumper to bumper warranty. (nar) *ph

While driving uphill at 15-20 mph the driver heard a sound coming from the transmission.the transmission shifted to neutral, then the vehicle rolled backward. After stopping, the driver was unable to shift to drive or reverse.the vehicle was towed to the dealer where a clutch mechanism inside the automatic transmission was replaced. *nlm *scc

First hydraulic cylinder failure occurred (while living in fl) on 06 jun 2001 (odo: 2188 miles) at approx 30mph.lost use of clutch while shifting between 2nd & 3rd gear.hydraulic cylinder replaced by orville beckford ford under warranty.second occurrence is described earlier in this report --occurred after moving to tx.to be repaired by gillespie ford, san antonio, tx.

While traveling at highway speedsclutch became disengaged frommechanism that it was attached to. Driver could not get out of gear.driver felt this was very unsafe.dealerreplacedmaster cylinder and clutch.

Clutch hose line that runs from the master cylinder down to the slave cylinder melted across the exhaust manifold thereby releasing all the hydraulic fluid, upon shifting out of overdrive due to the trailer and the grade on the freeway, the clutch pedal stayed on the floorboard of vehicle resulting in vehicle effectively being stuck in neutral.

Previous failure (2nd) reported under odi#759329 on same subsystem -march 2002.

While driving the vehicle the clutch broke. The dealer has replaced it three times but the problem re-occurred. *nlm

The clutch cylinder failed and engaged the clutch. This made the vehicle take off, sometimes sending the consumer into the intersection of traffic.the cylinder has been replaced twice and it continues to perform the same way.

- the contactowns a ford f-250 super duty, and stated while vehicle was in a parking lot he stepped on the clutch and the pedal fell all the way to the floor.the stud to which the cylinder connected to sheared off. Updated 03/02/07.

Hose blew out of the bottom ofclutch master cyclinder due to the keeper pin missing. This caused the clutch pedal to go to the floor and remain there. If there would have been an obsticle in front of the vehicle it would have been hit.

Without warning the hydraulic line from the master clutch cylinder ?term came off and rendering the clutch completely useless (pedal went to the floor and stayed there).was luckily in a parking lot just about to pull onto a highway with a 4000 lb trailer.realized how dangerous that could have been.forrest cate ford in lafayette, ga says the part they are replacing it with is updated so that the line doesn't do that.this should be a recall.if that happened on the highway with zero warning, i could have had problems stopping quickly or controlling the vehicle.i was lucky but want no one else to be unlucky.thank you.

Driver side seat belt unlatches at random.i've seen complaints about this on this website, so i'm not the only one having this problem.problem has been going on for a few years and i don't know the date or mileage when it started happening.the dealer just tried to sell me a new latch for around a hundred bucks.seat belt latches don't just wear out that easy, my '73 mustang has latches that still work.

The contact owns a 2001 ford f-250. While driving at any speed, the seat belt would independently unlatch without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was confirmed that there was a malfunction with the seat belts. The technician refused to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was taken in to be inspected under nhtsa campaign number: 01v227001 (seat belts) but no failure was found. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000. The vin was not available.

The contact owns a 2001 ford f-250. While driving at various speeds, the front passenger side seat belt became detached. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the vehicle had already been through a recall and there was no defect. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 300,000....updated 01/07/16

The contact owns a 2001 ford f-250. While the vehicle was being operated, the front driver and passenger seat belts unlatched independently. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000.

Seat belt on driver side disconnects randomly.it has gone over 200 miles without disconnecting, but rarely further than that. Ford service department could find no problem and so did not fix anything.it disconnected about 10 miles after i left the dealer.i push in the left side male part and it clicks.i usually jiggle it and give it a tug, but that has had no effect on when or where it disconnects.there was a recall in 2001, but i have not been able to find out if the part was repaired/replaced at that time.i've used the same ford service location since i bought the truck.

Front passenger seat belt will disengage with out touching the release button. I have tried using high pressure air thinking it would dislodge something. Even tried a little wd-40 to no avail. Really frustrating to hear its not on the recall list for this model year. Dealerships sure don't act like they want to fix it. Has happened numerous times.

Driver's front seatbelt came undon at high speed breaking, causing vehicle to go out of control and throwing driver into dashboard. Seat belt seems to have locked, but keeps poping out on dips and rocking of truck.

Dt*:the contact stated the driver's side seat belt does not latch securely.this startedtwo years ago, and the seat belt unlatches at times.the dealership determined there was nothing wrong with the seat belt. Updated 2/7/2006 -

Front passenger's side seat belt unlatched. The front passenger seat belt would release itself.the consumer informed the dealer of the problem but they indicated that they couldn't find anything wrong.the consumer decided to purchase and install a new part and now the problem is gone.the consumer later found out that the part was the subject of a recall.the manufacturer was notified and informed the consumer that her truck was not included in the recall due to vin.

Passenger's side seat belt buckle is popping out, each time it is being used wheremale part could latch in, then will pop out.dealer will replace part.

The front seat was designed improperly.

While driving back home from shopping my brakes (anti-lock style) locked up and violently shook my vehicle all over the road i was driving on. I had limited orno control at all of this incident. Was doing about 40 mph. Truck acted as if brakes were applied on and off 50/60 times so fast that there was nothing to do but hang on to the steering wheel. At one point i thought i was going to flip over as the truck went sideways. Steering went from side to side at first, then a constant pull to the right. I thought one of my front tires was blown out. Slowed down enough to gain some control but it took my truck over a curb and stopped on a sidewalk and some grass. When i did apply the brakes nothing happened until i was on the sidewalk and going very slow by this time. Got out and inspected my truck for damage but saw nothing. Was only about .3 miles from home so i started my vehicle and limed it home at walking speed. When i tried to go a little faster it would start jumping and shaking again. Got it home and that is when i noticed the abs light was on. It was not on when i started home from the store. This happened so fast that i am glad no one was in another lane. This happened on a 3 lane each direction road. All this occurred on july 4th at about 10:47 a.m.

Luckily i was stopped, but could just as well have been on expressway in heavy traffic!!!brakeline ruptured, maybe rusted through in ront of left rear wheel well, pedal wentt o the floor & only had slight amount of brakes. I called ford customer satisfaction, they were less than concerned. See on line others have had similar issue. Seems mor of a problem than they will admit.

While applying brakes the vehicle's wheel wont turn. Dealer notified. Please provide additional information.ts

When driving in slush/snow or wet road conditions anddepressed brake pedal it wentto the floor. When this occurredvehicleeither had no brakes or the brakeslocked up. As a result, vehicle was almost involved in several accidents. Dealership serviced the truck several times, but the problem recurred.

The problem occurs when applying brakes which causes steering wheel to lock up, resulting in loss of steering control.this occurs at a low speed as well as at a complete stop.dealer states that a "higher steering effort w/sitting still w/brakes applied" is normal.when ask to try it for himself, he refused.leading me to believe it was impossible for them to use the "higher steering effort" theory.it is impossible to turn the wheel or steer when brakes are applied at a low speed or at a stop!!!

I have had three incedents in which i had to use heavy braking to to avoid an something. All of these incedents where at speeds above 40 mph. In the first incedent i had to make a heavy emergencyapplication on the brakes. When i did this the truck pulled violently to the left almost causing me to loose control of my truck. It appeared that i did not have any control of the steering of this vehicle.since then i have tried several times to duplicat this situation. It does not allways do it to as a severe degree. But i have got it to violently pull the truck to the left on two other occasions.i am a above average driver because i have been a deputy sheriff for about 16 years and have had alot of experience and training in driving in extreme conditions. I have not taken this truck back to the dealeror rotated the tires because i have been advised that the nhtsa wants to drive one of these trucks before any work is done on them. I would be more than willing to let you drive this vehicle . Please advise me what your intentions are.

While applying brakes and slowing down engine will continue to surge and accelerate.this problem is causing an increase in stopping distance and trouble maintaining control of truck. Could not determine a cause for this problem.please provide any additional information / attachments.

Complete brake failure has occurred.the night i brought it home then two weeks later the same thing. Went to apply brakes and pedal went to floor.i did hear a noise coming from under the hood while it occured.after i coasted to stop.brakes were find again.very bizzarre!

The truck just took off, like it had a mind of its own. Since then i have not, and will not use the cruise control. I will not use the cruise control again. It was very shocking, and took the wind out of me. It could have easily caused an accident. I missed the car in front me by inches. I will never use the cruise control on my truck again.

Driver of the truck lizabeth salinas, driving north on interstate 25 from colorado springs to denver, very cold outside, approx 17 degrees , well below freezing, i had the heat on the lower vents only, after driving approximately 30 miles i switched the heat to come out the dash vents, soon after without warning the glass in the front passenger window exploded.i maintained control of the truck.glass was everywhere in the cab, the majority of the glass was in the right passenger seat and floor, glass was also found in the bed of the truck.i had the glass replaced while i was at work in denver ($240.00 my expense) damage was done to the paint outside right door and side of truck also the rubber inside and outside of the window was damaged.the inside plastic door surface was also damaged.i cannot afford to fix the paint and body work on the truck, it is fords responsibility anyway.i am suffering an injured left shoulder and ear ache in my right ear.i noticed the vent on the right side dash was facing directly to the right window.i believe the high heat blowing directly on the glass caused it to explode during our cold weather.these vents need to be lower so they don't direct intense heat directly on the glass, this model truck has the lower cut front part of the window to accomodate the new larger side view mirrrors.luckily i had no passenger and maintained control, this could have been much worse.during winter weather conditions most families choose to drive their trucks, turning on the heat in below freezing temperatures will happen again if it hasn't already.

While driving65 mphwindshield was impacted by a small object. When this occurredwindshield glass spiraled out, and small pieces of spare shape glass went into the cabin of the vehicle and hit the occupants.

Wife was driving east bound on 580 coming down what we call the altamont passon a sunday afternoon with moderate traffic. The vehicle was empty so the bouncing on this freeway is pretty standard. She heard a load explosion and the truck began to shake. She immediately pulled to the shoulder and noticed the driver side rear tire was shredded along with the side of the truck. Praise god she had just had the tires rotated otherwise this tire would have been in the front and pulled her across traffic. Her speed was in the range of 55-65 mph which is typical for her and on the freeway this time of day. Conditions were clear and dry.

The lugs were incompatible with the wheel and tire
