Driving down the highway and the truck picked up speed by itself until it reached 95 mph then the engine bogged down repeatly, then i shut the engine down and restarted it and it worked ok until evening then the truck failed to start and the starter kept turning without me touching the key.

2010 f-250 40k miles has been in and out of the shop since purchased 14 service repairs and 8 of the 14 repairs have been major, transmission was leaking and down shifting while on the highway, had to be repaired, cruise control went out while on the freeway and the truck lost all power while on a highly congested highway, it has had the same problem a few times now, defective instrument cluster fuel, speedometer. Egr valves went out and stalled in the middle of a intersection with a 30 foot trailer, which that happened twice, ford says well this has never happened to any other vehicles that they have dealt with. This has recurred multiple times, which causes traffic congestion and could possibly result in major issues or accidents, truck was purchased to haul a trailer and we do not trust it at all since it has broke down so many times. When you press the accelerator loaded or unloaded it has a hesitation before it goes, sometimes it takes awhile to get up to speed, fuel injectors have been replaced also. When the cleaning exhaust system is on it starts to decelerate and you lose a good amount of power.

Hose to radiator leaking, took to ford dealer, they said new hoses and needed a new radiator.said it was still under ford extended warranty.ford warranty denied the new radiator and hoses saying that the hose leak cracked the radiator and that was the owners fault.truck has just under 44k miles and is garaged and well taken care of.what good is an extended warranty, first. And second, why should a radiator go bad in short time.quote for job was over $2000.00.

The dpf / cleaning exhaust filter initiated without warning while i attempted to cross a busy intersection, thus, drastically reducing the boost and power to the vehicle when it was absolutely essential. The drastic loss of boost and power put me in imminent danger due to on coming traffic and my vehicle and i were in the broadside position. A motorist had to take evasive action to avoid slamming into the side of my vehicle by riding onto and over the median. I was lucky enough to retrieve his name and phone number.i brought the vehicle to the team ford las vegas for repair, however, the truck checked out according to ford's specification. On 3/10/11 service manager bob rahala contacted ford consumer relations in my presence and the representative stated "ford is aware of the problem and we are working on it; you will be contacted within 48 hours with the further information". I received the call from ford consumer relations 23 hours later and the representative stated "the truck is operating according to spec, there is no problem". Please be advised, ford is aware of the boost and power loss when the cleaning exhaust filter mode is in effect. My ford case number is 0527870691 which ford closed. This is a major safety issue that requires action immediately.

The contact owns a 2010 ford f-250 sd diesel. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, exhaust fumes were emitted into the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the current mileage was 82,000.

Truck dies when driving it,this has happen twice. The truck would not start on two other times, when i went to daughter house and got in to leave. The truck has been towed to dealer all 4 times and they can not find any thing wrong. This is a new ford 250 super duty diesel. It has 6,533 miles on it,bought it 07/29/2010.

I recently purchased a 2010 f-250 sd, 6.4l pickup. I was driving along a city surface street and looked in my rear view mirror, and noticed a thick white cloud bank billowing behind me, generating from my exhaust pipe. I about had a heart attack, thinking my truck just blew an engine. I immediately drove it back to have the service department to fix it. The service department stated that,? ford is aware of the smoking issue and considers this normal with no fix?. They mentioned this could be caused by moisture condensation. That doesn't seem feasible since here in the pacific northwest there?s moisture in the air just about all year long. The truck continues to bleach this heavy, thick smoke, about every 20 to 40 miles, for approx. 45-120 seconds.i?m concerned about this being a public hazard/safety issue. When it billows, i can see cars peeling out from behind me, thinking my truck is on fire. I've even had people pull along side my truck and give me an earful, along with several obscene gestures. It's ironic that this 6.4l diesel engine has been advertised as clean burning, less pollution, if a police officer observes this, i could get a traffic citation. We have expressed our safety concerns as well as concern for the environment and re-sale to the ford dealership, (not to mention how embarrassing this is when the truck billows).many phone conversations have taken place with the service dept. As well as bringing the truck back and we still cannot get this resolved. It's a head scratcher to me as to why the salesman didn't mention this issue when we first looked at the truck, surely he should know the product he is trying to get rid of.

The contact owns a 2010 ford f-250 sd. The contact stated that while driving 60 mph, the vehicle decelerated to 20 mph. A sensor began to illuminate, indicating that the vehicle was cleaning its exhaust. The contact also stated that the vehicle decelerated during this failure and began to again accelerate once the sensor turned off. The failure recurred on more than one occasion. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the contact was informed that the vehicle was operating as normal. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 42,600.

Radiator leaking. Fourth radiator now being installed. Ford motor co told dealer to pull the water pump to see if the plate showed cavatation.found the water pump housing had faulty machining( porosity). Radiators replaced at 28,000-53,000 and now at 100,000.

Brand new ford f250 diesel. Rear main seal "leaking like a sieve" according to ford dealership mechanic. Major fire concern. Vehicle has <8,000 miles, bought new by consumer, driven only on the highway without towing or heavy loads.

When driving at highway speeds for at least 15-20 minutes, then when you slow down or come to a stop. The problem manifests itself.engine begins to hesitate, sputter, shake and leads to a total loss of power and begins to blow tons of white smoke, i , mean a cloud of smoke. This happens every time it is humid or raining out and even in between. It has happened from day one.just picture this scenario playing out, as you attempt to cross a busy intersection, passing or getting on a highway, pulling a trailer and climbing a hill or mountaintotally dangerous condition.there are thousands of people with the same complaint of the same condition manifesting itself.the evidence is on the internet diesel forums and blogs and ford says that there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. This condition does not generate any trouble codes or lights on the dashboard, what a nightmare : vehicles affected are ford f-250,350,450 etc superduty 6.4l diesel engine it is a shame that you pay upwards of $ 50,000.00 or more for these vehicles and they are potentially life threatening and the manufacturer only makes excuses for an obvious model wide problem. The problem/ condition has manifested over 25 times in my vehicle in only 6 months of ownership. I am scared to pass, pull trailers, cross intersections because this condition leavesthe car powerless for multiple seconds at will repeatedly. We need your help, to force the manufacturer to come clean and own up to this defect once and for all it affects 2008-2010 model years, they have a tsb for this on the first build of vehicles, there are 3 builds i believe, however the problem is still present in the later builds.wowunbelievable.

The front end of this truck shakes violently to the point of almost causing it to fall apart. This happens when you hit any uneven road above 55 mph. You can't steer and have to apply the brakes and bring the vehicle down to about 30mph before it stops. This happens all the time on the freeway and having to stop and bring it down to 30mph is extremely dangerous in los angeles.

While driving on any highway if you hit a small bump or go over an overpass at a speed greater than 35mph the suspension and front wheels start shaking violently and the steering will lose control.you have to come to a complete stop before it will stop.the violent wheel and suspension oscillation can cause the driver to lose control. Since this occurs on major overpasses and turns it has an increased likelihood of causing accidents which could result in serious injury or death.the steering and suspension issue could cause severe injury or death.the nhtsa must investigate this issue with ford immediately or it will result in highway accidents that could result in serious injury or death.there is an overwhelming amount of consumer complaints and data to suggest the issue is widespread and that there was a design flaw in the suspension and steering of these vehicles.a federal investigation is needed along with a manufacturer recall of the dangerously defective suspension and steering assemblies of these vehicles.

Owner was driving on curvey paved road in rain conditions.back end started to lose traction.tried to correct and steering locked and wheels stuck to right.truck ran off road.mechanic found tie rods broken and steering gear box broken inside.

When driving down the road and you hit a bump just right the entire truck begins to violently shake. It shakes so bad and the only way to get it to stop is to pull over immediately. Almost hit a semi that was next to me.i am told its called the ford death shake and you can see videos on the internet of the problem and i too have taken a video on my phone of my truck doing this. This should be recalled and fixed.i was told it was a steering stabilizer bushing, so i replaced it. Still did it. I was told it could be the strut on the stabilizer bar, replaced it. Still does it.now in at ford again and they telling me its some pin bar,, what ever that is. They are replacing it. This is apparently a big problem because i see a lot of complaints on this... Bad design along with the regen system to meet emission but that's a whole different story.thanks

While driving about 60mph on loop 250 here in midland, tx i went over an overpass changing from the pavement to concrete.at that point i completely lost control of the vehicle due to very bad front wheel wobble.i was only able to regain control by coming to almost a complete stop very closely avoiding an accident.i have noticed this death wobble before on my 2007 ford f-250 and now it has started on my 2010.i took the 2007 to the dealer many times and they could never duplicate the problem or would use an excuse that they adjusted the air pressure on tires.this problem is a major issue and will cause serious accidents if it has not already.after arriving at work i searched the internet for others with similar problems and it seems all ford f-250 4x4's have the same issue all they way up to the current model.there are tons of youtube videos showing exactly what happened to me stating that ford will not correct the problem.something needs to be done!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8euq6f8rgt4http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=psdbcv-gcs8http://www.topix.com/forum/autos/ford-f-250-super-duty/t0sgdctmobhe5jer1/p13http://www.race-dezert.com/forum/showthread.php/82022-f250-quot-death-wobble-quot-steering-issue.

At 65 mph, hit uneven road, front end wobbled dramatically !!!!!!!!!truck went out of control & had to reduce speed to below 40 mph to regain control.continues to happen all the time now at over 55 mph and hitting a bump.new tires all the way around, all tire pressure maintained properly at 62 to 65 psi....this is a safety concern and is definitely a flawed designed that ford is well aware of and refuse to acknowledge.does someone have to die to get their attention ?????

Driving down the freeway. Hit a small pothole on the highway and lost control of the vehicle due to a "death wobble" that felt like it was from the front end. It felt like the front of the truck was going to be ripped off.

The contact owns a 2010 ford f-250 sd diesel. The contact stated that when driving at various speeds over a road bump, the front end of the vehicle and the steering wheel would jerk violently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 58,000 and the current mileage was 64,000.

At various speeds from 45 on up frontend will shake violently causing vehicle to loss lane control. Most often it is following any compromise in the road but has happened without me feeling or seeing any change in the surface. When i went to my local ford dealer, they quickly identified the problem calling it the 'death wobble'. Alarmed by the name alone i enquired. They said they know of the problem and that ford is not taking responsibility for it. They only offer the consumer to pay out of pocket for aftermarket part to rectify their ill engineered frontend. This is a serious occurrence and will end up causing many wrecks and the great potential for fatalities. I see ford and whoever else turns a blind eye to this situation to be in the headlines right next to gm and their attempt to pretend and bury issues knowing they present a compromise in safety. There is a countless number of people who have done their part to notify both ford and nhtsa of this ongoing issue for years and both seem negligent not to aggressively remedy any and all current vehicles with this defect, as well as, any unit in production. It shouldn't take bloodshed/death for someone to take ownership of their defective product.

Front wheel wobble aka death wobble. Vehicle became severely unstable at highway speed (70 mph) after hitting bump in road, front of vehicle began to shake violently causing loss of steering control. Had to slow vehicle to 25 mph to stop shaking.

While traveling on the highway if i hit any bumps while taking a curve my steering wheel and tire shakes violently until i slow down and straighten out the suspension. This has happend several times and i have check to make sure my tires are properly inflated.

When you hit a bump over 60mph the tires start to shake like crazy in the front tires.

The contact owns a 2010 ford f-250sd. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph over a road bump, the steering wheel began to shake violently. The failure recurred whenever driving at any speed over a road bump. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 34,000.

Driving down the freeway at about 70 mph, the front end began to shake/shutter violently. It freaked me out and i was convinced i blew a tire. I pulled over and investigated and nothing seemed broken and all tires appeared fine. I tookthe truck to a mechanic and he replaced the steering dampner, convinced that was the problem. A few days later i was driving down the freeway and it did it again. I didn't hit a pothole or any obstruction. When this happens, if i'm not paying attention or don't have both hands on the wheel, there is a serious risk i will cause a major accident as this rather large truck wants to go careening across multiple lanes of traffic until the speed is reduced to below ~40mph and the violent shuddering ceases. Ford needs to address this problem. I've seen complaints on this now that date over 10 years old.

The contact owns a 2010 ford f-250 sd. The contact stated that while driving at any speed over 20 mph, the vehicle would experience severe front end vibrating and shaking. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but the cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 30,000.

Issue #1 at highway speeds and after hitting a bad bump on road, the truck would go into an uncontrollable wheel hop. The only way to bring vehicle back under control is to slow down below 40 mph. This nearly caused a wreck on the interstate. Issue #2. The truck cab bushings will crumble in your hand. This causes a very harsh ride over any type of bumps. I was told by ford dealership this is not covered even though there is only 62k miles on it. It cost over $1600 to have these 2 issues fixed. I have 3 other friends with the same year model truck that had to have the same things replaced. The dealership say they replace the same things on 3 to 4 trucks a month. This is a known issue ford shouldbe replacing free of charge.

You drive this truck on rough roads and the truck is bouncing all over and causing loss of control which made me go off the road. As soon as you hit bumps the truck sways either left or right which has got me in close call for an accident. Then this truck looses all the control panel and smokes in the cab after 3 tries they replaced a module they would not tell me what it is. Ford keeps telling me this truck has stability issues and its just the way it is. Please check into this before someone gets killed. The plow which came with the truck fully up hits the road while driving which they the dealer says is normal but could get hung up causing an accident. You really need to see and try this truck for yourself to see how unsafe it is.

Tires replaced due to belt separation at the edge of the tread, causing a severe vibration above 35mph. The tires dot was checked with manufacturers list of recalls and even though the tires were manufactured in 2009, they were not included. I feel they should also be included since the same set of conditions are applicable to these tires.
