I was involved in an accident driving my 04 ford f250 diesel pulling a 25 ft fifth wheel.a car pulled out in front of me on the highway.i swerved to try to miss, but hit the cars left front end.we went off the road, down the ditch, up the ditch and into a grove of trees.hit a tree right in the middle of the bumper.both my wife's and my eyeglasses flew off.my wife suffered a severe chest bruise from the seat belt.my concern and question is: why didn't the air bags deploy?i was traveling about 55mph and would guess about 40mph when we hit the ditch.both the truck and camper were totaled.the camper ended up flipped over on it's side.

The air bag light in my 2004 ford 250 sd truck came on and i checked the fuses but they were not the problem.a few weekslater i was talking with a salesman at a ford dealership about the air bag light he said this could cost up to $1,000 to repair. I inquired if there had been a recall for this problem and was informed it has not been. I think this is a safety issue that should be addressed by ford. This isn't like an engine or transmission issue, this is safety!this bag could deploy at anytime and cause bodily harm or even death!please help with this issue.thank you.

Hit a tree at 50 miles an hour head on and the driver side air bag didn't deploy.

Ford 2004 f250 6l dieselford recall work done no. 05s34. This has not fixed the stalling-stumble problem. Had in seven times and ford cannot fix, starts hard, does not shift properly. Vehicle was and is dangerous. Now we have an oil leak, owned five other fords, never again.

We purchased a 2004 f250 turbo diesel from mike brown ford on may 29, 2004 and the nightmare began. The first problem the dealership wired the keyless entry incorrectly and had to replace the wiring harness. After that the truck began to have problems with surging, and dying in the middle of the road.. The truck has been in the shop numerous times, they have replaced the computer 9 times, exchanged the egr values twice, they have slipped the torque converter, and all types of reprogrammed on the various components on this vehicle.. To date the truck runs extremely bad. My wife drives this vehicle, and is extremely scared of this truck, do to the fact that it surges and loses vacuum and shoves her into intersections at red lights or any other times she applies the brakes. The various ford dealerships are no help they constantly reprogram and release the vehicle . No more or less than 5000 miles the vehicle starts it again. We believe that this vehicle is defective and extremely dangerous to drive, seeing how you never no when it will die, or surge . We feel that this vehicle is a danger to anyone who comes in contact with .

Our 2004 f250 diesel 4x4 super duty was parked in the driveway overnight, properly plugged in due to the cold. A neighbor woke us up to state it was on fire. The entire front and interior of the truck was engulfed in flames before the fire department arrived. After it was extinguished, the county fireman pointed the believed the point of ignition appeared to be at the firewall on the drivers side due to the fact that the master brake cylinder & battery were disintegrated. Plus the secondary battery & radiator were partially intact which are in the front. The fire dept stated that if it had been a frontal point of ignition due to the block heater the radiator & battery on front passenger side would've burned first due to aluminum materials.

We have been having on and off problems for about a year with our vehicle stalling while driving. The vehicle would start up but only go about 3 blocks and then stall again. We have replaced the ficm. Vehicle seemed of for a few months and now we are having a problem with it running rough at low idle speeds and missing while driving and running rough. We have been told its the icp sensor and there may be a recall on these part.i called ford today and our vehicle doesn not fall under this recall but yet we have had the same problems with the ficm amd icp (recall05s34) can you please check and see if any other 2004 ford f250 super duties are having issues also that ford is not fixing?????

In 2004 i purchased this vehicle brand new. Subsequent expenses to maintain this vehicle in working condition have been extensive. 11/16/05- fuel injector wiring repair, exhaust pressure replacement, air cooler duct replacement (warranty) 11/1/06 - water in fuel light, throttle unexplained acceleration. 1/8/07- runaway throttle stalling, hesitation. 10/31/07- stalling, hesitation replaced main wire harness. Replaced elbow on turbo.12/5/08- egr cooler failed, turbo had water and rust, replaced same. 10/15/09- replaced starter ficm module. 1/15/10 replaced ipr valve & vgt solenoid, egr cooler failed again. 6/8/10- diesel head stud parts for repair. 6/24/10 - regulatory & kit, gasket-cylinder. 7/7/10- head stud modify. 7/20/10- replaced high pressure oil pump & power steering pump. I have spent $15,135.17 more for repairs that seem to be repetitive and very expensive. Based on the repair record i think that even you would say that there is something very wrong with this vehicle's engine. I have had this truck for eight years and have finally contacted ford motor company only to learn that they are unable to assist with the cost of any repairs beyond the normal warranty provisions.

2004 ford f250 super duty egr valve & oil cooler at a cost of $2400.00 to have my truck fixed. There are allot of other complaints posted but it looks like no one is doing anything to get after ford motors to recall this big expensive problem to consumers. Its bad enough the trucks cost so much. Ford is able to increase their profits by not recalling and fixing this expensive problem. I'm a disabled veteran and it took all my money for a month to get my truck back. I could not buy food or pay my bills because it went to getting my truck back with only 1/4 tank of fuel. So now i cannot drive anywhere until the dec 1 2011 when my next government check comes. Please help!

My truck started to stall intermittently, i've had it to the dealer to have numerous repairs performed. I saw nhtsa campaign number: 05v270000 which references ford recall no. 05s34. I called to inquire at west brothers ford in sullivan mo. And was told my truck has no recalls. I called ford customer service and the first person said the recall expired and my truck was no longer under warranty. The second person said my truck wasn't affected because the recall said "certain" vehicles. My truck falls in the manufacture dates listed on the recall, has the 6.0 engine and is stalling now. I have owned my truck since new and it has not had this work performed on it. I would like an explanation of what "certain" vehicles apply to this recall and why mine doesn't. I would also like my truck fixed or reimbursed by ford, unless they can show why my truck doesn't need the work done. This is a safety matter. Thank you.## vin passed ## ford f250 super duty 2004 ##

This condition is extremely unsafe. Ford is not living up to their obligation to make the mandatory repair.

Truck "cuts out" losing power intermittently with no rhyme or reason. It seems electrical since both the glow plug light as well as the water in fuel light come on for about 2 seconds and go off. Once they go off, it will run again until the next occurrence. I have had the complete ficm harness (it ran fine for two weeks after the replacement) replaced by the dealer.iit has been in the shop four times now for a total of 10 days for this problem and it only has 7000 miles.

The truck was purchased new on 10/31/03 and immediately we had problems with the engine surging and running rough.the dealer tried 3 times and the truck continues to have the same problem.this is a history of our problems with this truck:on 8/23/04, engine idle low and runs rough and the dealer replaced the ebp sensor.on 9/2/04, the dealer again replaced the ebp sensor and the truck continues to run rough and surge during idle.on 9/9/04, we spoke with the mechantic to tell him we were still having the same problem.on 1/4/05, the engine shut off while we were driving.the truck finally started and we took it to auto way ford and was kept there for 7 days.they replaced the injector harness ssm18226.on 1/24/05, the engine again shut off and was towed to auto way ford.they were told by the ford engineers to do a "wire wiggle test".they could not determine the problem but kept it for 12 days.the tech referred the problem to george s., the service manager.on 2/7/05, truck again died and had to be owed to auto way ford.the replaced the ficm and cleared the modules.they had the truck 8 days.based on the past history, we are not comfortable in taking the truck for long distances.additionally, we are concerned that the engine will shut off while we're on an interstate or a busy road.we're also concerned that even though we had idle problems immediately with the truck, the engine shut down problem did not occur until the truck was around a year old with only 19,115 miles.the reliability and safety of this truck is obviously questionable.

The contact received nhtsa recall 05v27000. The vehicle was taken to the dealership for repairs the day before the accident and they did not have the parts available to dorecallrepairs.they told him to come back in about a week. In the recall letter it stated that these vehicles were unsafe to drive and they will provide a rental car if needed. At the dealership they never mentioned to the contact anything about a rental car.

The contact owns a 2004 ford f250 super duty. While driving at any speed, the contact stated that the vehicle would suddenly stall intermittently without warning and would not restart. The failure was similar to nhtsa campaign id number 05v270000 ( electrical system:wiring). The dealer informed the contact that his vehicle was not included in the recall. The vehicle had not been repaired nor was the failure diagnosed due to the cost. The current mileage was 67,622 and the failure mileage was 65,000.

While driving approximately 30 mph on dry level pavement, the engine returned to idle with no power. Pulled over to a safe place and tried again after re-starting. Drove approximatelymile and the engine stalled. No warning lights were on and after many more attempts, the vehicle had to be towed.dealer located and replaced burned wiring harness directly below the turbo charger.

While driving at speeds between 40 and 65 mph, the vehicle will suddenly stall. Fuel light engine preheat warning lights will come on. If the cruise control and/or tow haul are in use at the time of the stall, they are shut off at the same time. Engine can usually be restarted; on a few occasions it has been necessary to turn on the emergency flashers and attempt to get out of traffic. This creates a hazardous situation when driving on interstate highways. The stalling has occurred when the vehicle has no load and also when pulling a light weight fifth wheel camper. We have taken the vehicle to 2 local ford dealerships, they have replaced parts (accelerator pedal, & a "fuel management module) but have been unsuccessful in correcting the problem and claim to be unaware of any history of problems with this model vehicle.

My 2004 ford f250 superduty truck ran very rough and stalled in my front yard; and would not crank again. On october 5 2009, i had purchased it pre-owned from dealer, william mizell ford, on conditions and that they agreed to provide a carfax report.well , they hesitated and two months later, after the truck had stalled, i was told too bad it was sold as is.

Car died while going through a intersection, lost power steering causing me to almost hit a pedestrian and wreck in to the curb almost hitting the stop light pole as well.

Takara recall i was driving down the freeway when the check engine light came on i all the sudden had a loss of power and it was like the motor was sputtering like it had a misfire after that it's very hard to start and barely moves it comes up with multiple injector codes that all failed at the same time some high some low

"ficm & icp recall" received a recall notice from ford july 2005 in regards to faulty ficm and icp.the ficm was repaired august 2005 by a ford dealership. Note, we did not have any issues with the truck prior to the fix. January 2006 we had to take the truck into the shop due to the engine running rough while idling and acceling; the ficm was replaced due to a short; the issue that was just fixed on the truck. The truck has been in the shop 5 times since january 2006 and has cost us over $11,000 out of pocket to try and resolve this issue that started after the initial recall fix.we have contacted ford hdqrs and they advised to take the truck into the dealership which we did multiple times. Over the last few months the surging has become increasingly worse.while traveling in heavy traffic on i5 pulling a 30' 5th wheel trailer, the truck surged forward unexpectedly just missing the car in front of us.a few weeks ago i was stopped at an intersection, when i began to take my foot off the brake to move forward the truck surged forward 3 feet.i was lucky there wasn't another car close or a person in the street. Just the other day i was parallel parking and when i took my foot off the gas to back up a little the truck surged backward almost hitting the car in back of the truck.the truck also stalls just before coming to a complete stop occasionally.this issue has become extremely dangerous in that i don't feel safe driving the truck. I looked into the california lemon law and it sounds like the truck might be covered under this.we need to get rid of this truck but feel ford does not stands behind their product. I have attached the recall notice and some of the receipts for the repairs done to the truck just in regards to this surging issue. I was only able to attach 5 documents but have many more if needed. [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2004 ford f-250 sd. The contact stated that while driving in reverse at approximately 2 mph, smoke emitted from under the hood. The engine was turned off and the driver inspected under the hood area, where he noticed oil spraying out of the dip stick tube. A large amount of smoke was present however, a fire did not erupt. The contact planned to take the vehicle to the dealer for diagnosis. The manufacturer was notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 58,000. Driving on the highway , complete loss of throttle but the engine was still running at a low amperage. Was able to pull off the road and turned it off. It wouldn't start back up right away. Had to wait a whileit would start and limped it home. No problems for a few days, then it started acting up again. A couple times it would start, but at a low idle with no response of the gas peddle. The final straw was last week. I was driving on the highway to work. Each time i came to a stop, it would lose throttle. I was able to turn it off and back on to get going. Then at a major intersection of hwy 41 and 145, it wouldn't turn back on and i was in the middle of the hwy. I had to push it to the side of the road and it would turn but not start. I had it towed to my mechanic on saturday and monday when they got to it, after charging the batteries, it started right up and they haven't been able to get it to fail...when this happens, there is no oil pressure on the gauge. This is dangerous and potentially hazardous or deadly. I could have easily been injured or killed if i had been hit.

The contact owns a 2004 ford f-250 sd. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled several times and was unable to restart. In other instances, the vehicle restarted with a delay and the engine was slow to gain speed, but later accelerated at a high rate of speed. Dan collins ford (541-947-4965, located at 351 n o st, lakeview, or 97630) and crown motors (541-947-4965, located at 351 north o. The vehicle was not repaired and was unsafe to be driven. The vehicle was excluded from nhtsa campaign number: 05v270000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 11,686.

Driving on interstate 65mph.engine started binding down and speed dropped to 25mph and finally completely died. Had it towed home. Now won't start.have replaced egr cooler and oil cooler previously .this time replaced fuel pump and all fuel filters.will crank and run for a very short amount of time then will die again- andnot crank back for awhile.just repeats this process.now told that it needs head gaskets or high pressure pump.these problems are very expensive.why will ford not fix these problems that seem to be onall 6.0 diesel models?

Vehicle will stall or no start due to high pressure pump leaving you stranded and could lead to a dangerous situation. There are numerous amount of same issue with this truck and something should be done by ford.

While on a recent trip pulling our 5th wheel travel trailer we noticed on several occasions the smell of anti-freeze while under acceleration(up hills, highway merging). Once at the campground we made a visual check for any leaks and none were found, but the coolant reservoir was at the min mark. I filled to max. On the return trip same thing happened. Once home i checked for leaks and none were found but coolant was back to min mark. At no time during the trip did the truck overheat or run any differently than normal. I made an appointment at our local ford dealership and after they inspected i was told that the turbo had gone south causing an over boost condition that then entered into the combustion chamber and caused the head gaskets to fail. Then i was told that as the head gaskets had failed pressure from the combustion chamber had entered into the coolant system boosting pressure beyond what the pressure relief cap was rated for on the degas(over flow) bottle and spewed anti freeze out of the bottle, which is what we were smelling. The cost for repairs and parts are estimated at 7,000.00 dollars for a truck that has little over 58,000 miles on it. A call to ford customer service(chris) and a follow up call from his supervisor at my request, has netted us nothing as fords stance on this is "there is nothing that ford will or can do". After some research i see that i am not the only consumer being asked to bear the brunt of fords mistakes. Apparently every item that i was told that needed to be replaced is a part that a multitude of consumers are having issues with. This is unacceptable. They know they have an issue yet they do nothing, and no one is holding them accountable. If i wanted to sell my truck after it is repaired i'd be lucky to recoup anything as this issue has grown so large that everyone is selling and the value has dropped.

In addition, the contact stated that the engine would exhibit an unusual increase in rpms yet there was no power to the engine. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the egr valve was repaired. The contact then noticed a massive oil leak and the dealer replaced the injector control press. The contact continued to notice a lack of power and the vehicle would sporadically stall without warning.the dealer inspected the vehicle and replaced the egr cooler and oil cooler. My 2004 f-250 diesel, 79,292 miles, has been at the local ford dealership since sept. 7th. There are so many diesels broken down, mine did not get pulled into the bay for work until the last week in oct. It is still in the bay waiting an engine as of nov. 11th. Over 2 months in the shop.they changed the oil prior to diagnosing blown head gaskets and over boosting turbo, so they could not confirm if water was in the oil pan. Diagnoses was to replace the head bolts, gaskets, egr cooler, rebuild an over boosting turbo, at a cost of about $3,000.00. After the heads were deemed unusable, much pitting, corrosion of the head where the cylinder imprint is located, the cost went to $7,5000. Since they failed to inspect the oil for coolant, i had little alternative than to request an entire engine, at a cost of $15,500.00. I have worked on engines, and know some of the aspects of blown head gaskets.i requested assistance from ford. They said the dealership was willing to take a 10% discount. After more phone calls, they offered an additional $400.00 off after the discount. I am looking at spending $13,500.00 plus $1,205.25 in sales tax, back up to about $15,000.00 for a truck with 79,292 miles. Ford motor corporation did not offer a dime.i am requesting the national transportation safety board investigate, find ford at fault for knowingly not recommending service bulletins for:1)over boosting turbos to be replaced with the new designed ones.2)the head bolts be replaced with the heavier, larger circumference bolts. 3)updated head gaskets.4)stainless egr cooler so much information has been written on the obvious faults, and the corrections that could be made if ford were forth coming in disclosing the problems, before consumers were required to make huge investments on their engines. There is also a safety issue of the over boosting, and engine accelerating uncontrollably.

For the past 4 months we have had our truck in the shop three times, because of the egr valve.truck constantly blows out black smoke and has no pick up speed.still having issues the day after the truck was taken into the shop.

The vehicle stalled at various speeds of 0-15 mph. This condition occurred during stopping or making turns.the vehicle has been to the dealer on four separate occasions. On each occasion the dealer was unable to duplicate the problem. Also, intermittently the vehicle commenced to lurch forward at high speed while the brakes were being applied. The dealer was unable to duplicate this issue as well.

My ford f-250 superduty with 6.0 diesel has a hard starting issue and then the engine go from low idle to high idle causing to have to really apply the brakes in order to keep the vehicle from taking off. You can be just gradually taking off and then it accelerates with out warning. Have had instances when sitting at a stop and the engines rpm's jump causing the truck to start taking off and if not reacting fast enough would have hit a car in front of me. I do have a engine code in the vehicle, p2285 which states injector control pressure sensor circuit low. I have seen reports that have led to safety recalls due to wiring harnesses being faulty. I called the dealer and they said that my truck was not part of the recall, however it sounds real familiar with the problems associated with the recall.

Is there anything that our government can do to helps alot of us with the problem we have with the ford 6.0 powerstroke enginealot of us have had to pay thousand and thousand of dollars to fix their defective diesel engine.just tired !!!!!pay 40,000 to 65,000 for their truck then have to pay thousand move to keep them running. Problems (head gaskets, injector, fuel rail, oil cooler, oil pumps fuel injector control module, pcm, 0 basically the whole 6.0 and components.

I own a 2004 ford f250 sd diesel and on 10/11/08 took a trip to sante fe nm which approx 55 miles and from what they tell me a fuel injector stuck and let fuel into the cyl thus ruining theengine. I believe that this related to the shop replacing the turbo which blew up into pieces and went into the exhaust and possibly into the fuel system jamming up the injector causing the damage. This was the second turbo with in the last 3000 miles. This vehicle has only35400 miles i feel the engine should be covered by warranty due to miles on vehicle and also the original warranty not even a month past.

The contact owns a 2004 ford f-250 super duty. The contactstated that the vehicle was smoking excessively and loosing anti-freeze through the exhaust. The vehicle was taken to the dealer three times within one month to address the failure. The dealer advised the egr valve would need to be replaced. The vehicle was left with the dealer where the contact was awaiting repairs. The failure mileage was 144,000 and the current mileage was 147,000.

Periodic power loss pulling out onto highway and engine stumbles blowing black smoke and leaving you sitting and blocking a highway, after 15 or 20 seconds will accelerate. Happens 2 or 3 times a week. Haven't tried to correct ,don't know what is causing it.

The contact owns a 2004 ford f-250 sd.while driving approximately 65 mph, the engine began to rev excessively high.there was no power response when the accelerator pedal was depressed.in addition, the check engine warning light illuminated on the instrument panel and remained lit until the engine was turned off.the driver pulled over to the side of the road and the vehicle restarted.the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnostic testing and they stated that the failure was contributed to the turbo and engine sensors.the turbo outlet hose, map sensor, and egr throttle body were replaced under warranty; however, the failures recurred on thirty separate occasions.the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and an independent mechanic on three separate occasions, but there were no resolutions.the vehicle has not been repaired.the failure mileage was 77,000 and current mileage was 120,000.

2004 ford f-250 sd. Consumer requests assistance in helping obtain satisfactory attention and results related to recalls and repairs *tgwthe consumer stated the egr valve was bad and needed to be replaced. The vehicle ran fine for awhile, until the egr valve went bad again.the fuses burned out on a consistent basis, the battery died, the fuel gauge did not give accurate readings, the vehicle stalled on several occasions and the crank position sensor failed.

Our family was traveling to the beach on a very busy interstate when our 2004 ford f250 diesel, pulling a 35 foot rv, started running hot.i pulled over in the emergency lane to investigate.let the truck idle and cool for a bit, returned to the interstate to try and get to the next exit for a less dangerous place to work on it.it continued to run hot and upon exiting the interstate on the down ramp the vehicle shutoff, with no power brakes to stop the truck and camper, i was unable to stop the vehicle at the stop sign and blew through it.thank goodness nothing was coming.turns out all the water was gone, due to either a blown head gasket or egr oil cooler failure and the motor overheated and ruined.ford wants to replace the engine for $17,500.the truck has 63,000 miles on it and is just out of warranty.this is a known engine failure problem for ford yet they do not stand behind the problem.if i had known they were having problems i would have had mine fixed or replaced prior to having to pay thousands of dollars to replace the motor.i paid $50,000 for a truck with a premium to get a diesel that is suppose to last forever, and it does not even last more than 63,000 miles.thousands of people have had to face this problem, and have had to spend thousands of dollars to fix it.all you have to do is search blown head gaskets ford f250 on google to find thousands of people with this problem.the extremely hot exhaust gases get recirculation into the intake manifold, but first it has to be cooled.when the cooler fails, all the water from your engine goes out the exhaust, through the turbo (bye bye turbo), then you are pumping extremely hot gases back into the intake manifold which boils the water, creating extremely high pressures, which lifts the heads and blows the head gaskets.what kind of stupid design is that?now i have to pay for all of those design problems?i now have a $50,000 boat anchor, which is not worth repair.help please!!!!!!

The contact owns a 2004 ford f-250 super duty. The contact stated that the environmental regulator (egr) failed and ruined the motor. The contact owns a 2004 ford f-250. The contact stated that while driving in reverse approximately 5 mph, the vehicle suddenly shut down. There were no warning lights prior to or after the failure. She was unable to restart the vehicle after attempting to jump start it. The vehicle was towed to a repair shop where the contact was told that the mechanic could not figure out the problem. The mechanic then towed the vehicle to an authorized dealership where the contact was informed that the needle bearings chewed through the low pressure oil and the metallic pieces dispersed through the engine. The engine needed to be replaced. The contact called the manufacturer who offered no assistance. The vehicle had not been repaired when the complaint was filed. The current and failure mileages were approximately 41,000.

I have a 2004 f 250 super duty. I experienced a blow out of the spark plug on two occasions. The first i was able to put the plug back in and re-thread the plug. It just recently blew out the second time which will result in a greater repair. I have a mechanic whom i regularly use and he has stated to me that he is aware of no less than twenty five fords that he has personal knowledge or has experienced this problem first hand.this should most certainly be a recall.i was not aware of the potential for an engine fire.at first i believed the noise was probably from a blown exhaust gasket.i would have never imagined that a spark plug would have blown out of my engine let alone have any knowledge or concern that fuel vapor is being openly sprayed into the air. Now i realize that i also placed myself in harms way putting myself under the hood trying to locate the source of the noise. What if that vapor had ignited while i was peeking around in the engine?this is a serious hazard. I don't care what ford says or what silly excuse they can make for this.there is simply no reason why a spark plug should be blowing out of an engine like this. For whatever incoherent reasoning ford can derive it is most certainly irrelevant.what is the difference what causes this problem? what relevance does splitting hairs over this have?none because it is all speculation. The fact is that a very serious and dangerous condition is present as a result of this and the overwhelming evidence suggests it is a design flaw at the liability of ford. Will it take someone to be burned over 80% of their body to come to a conclusion that this should be recalled? furthermore ford has a poor track record with recalls. I had a 93 f 250 recalled in 2004 for the draining doublegas tank problem. For ten years i complained about this and ford finally sent me a notice for a recall in 2004.was i suppose to recall my truck from the junk yard?.. Its a great disservice to ford customers.

Engine idle is defective and the vehicle stalls intermittently.dealer serviced the vehicle, but problem recurred.

At onset of cold weather,(below 40f), loud tapping from engine at idle and again at 200 rpms. This lasts until engine is warmed up completely. Ford says piston slap and it is normal. Truck has 20k miles. Unless standard engineering practice has been repealed, piston slap is not normal under any circumstance.

Dt: contact had to replace two clamps on the lower radiator hose on february 15, 2005 at 3,000 miles.contactwas afraid that the other clampswill break as well.contact wanted to replace all of the clamps on the vehicle but the service dealer will replace the clamps only if they break.contact feltthis was a safety concern because neither the dealership nor the manufacturer will agree to replace all of the clamps at one time.

Caller said at the beginning the check engine light would come on, and dealer replaced something to fix that.nothing gives him notice that the engine is going to die.

2004 ford truck f super duty pk, notice of claim (dtpa).the truck does not idle consistently.when the engine is hot the truck lurches forward.the truck has been taken to the dealer.the dealer indicated that there have been significant problem with the engine on that model and that the bugs are still not worked out.

2004 f 250 engine light illuminated , engine surged and ran rough.the vehicle also stalled.the dealer attempted to resolve the problem but each time the problem recurred.

I have a 2004 ford f-250 with a triton 5.4 liter engine.i went out to start the truck and heard a loud boom and then the truck sounded like i had lost the exhaust system.as it turns out the engine pressure blew a spark plug out of the head and also broke the coil pack on top of it.after doing some research on the internet it seems this is a fairly common problem yet ford has not offered to do anything about it blaming it on many issues that simply do not make sense.the government to this point has also not forced a recall on this issue which i find very disheartening as this is a major safety issue.not everyone driving a truck is a mechanic and may not be aware of the fact that this type of problem could lead to a major fire or explosion in the engine compartment.

The contact owns a 2004 ford f250 super duty.the contact stated that the vehicle began to pump out coolant and smoke.the dealer stated that the head gasket needed to be replaced.upon further investigation, the contact found that this was a common issue with this particular vehicle, and was associated with the bolts used for the head gasket.there were no recalls for the vehicle and the manufacturer had not been notified.the vin was unknown.the failure and current mileages were less than 140,000.

2004 ford f250 superduty, 6.0 diesel, towing a 30ft. 5th wheel rv.was traveling south on i95 at 65mph and engine cuts off as if the ignition was turned off with no warning loosing power steering and brakes.truck was towed to ford dealer and repaired at customer's expense.two engine wiring harnesses was replaced at a cost of $1639.00, $104 towing, $289.00 rental car and 6 days in savannah, ga. Unexpected.this has been an ongoing problem as evidenced by earlier safety recall ford #05s34.ford still refuses to do anything about the problem because the truck is 10 months out of warranty with only 51,000 miles on the odometer.safety recall apparently did not solve the problem.

My 2004 ford f-250 5.4l was making a ticking noise for a couple of days then today a big pop and terrible noise from under the hood.i have discovered that it blew a spark plug out of the head.from what i have read this is a common problem with this engine.i am looking at a several thousand dollar repair.

Turbo problem with a 2004 f250 super duty. Most recent on feb 7, 06 the dealer ship replaced the turbo hose with a bigger one, new clamps etc. Dec'05 the sensors went bad on a newly replaced turbo assembly. Replaced the whole turbo assembly oct '05, this happened while towing a trailer. Aug '04 turbo hose blew off while towing a boat. This truck can not handle a load..

Erratic engine rpm stalling as well as sudden acceleration without moving accelerator pedal.

2004 ford 6.0 liter diesel motor- egr cooler cracking and thus causing coolant leaks into the exhaust system and engine cylinders. Egr cooler failure causes coolant to enter engine cylinders thus increasing cylinder pressures on heads. Head bolts stretch and head gaskets fail. Water in cylinder leads to major engine failure.1000's of ford 6.0 liter diesel owners have the same problem.dealers repair them constantly.ford dealer parts dept states that they have parts in stock because they change them out on a daily basis.my vehicle was 2 months out of warranty when part failed at 53,163 miles. Egr cooler cracked, leaked out coolant in the exhaust and into the motor, thus motor failed.dealer says need new motor at $10,000.ford needs to recall the older egr cooler component. Currently when they change them out under warranty, they replace it with a new and improved egr cooler. If it is new and improved, why isn't the old one recalled if they know it is a bad design?

Egr cooler has been replaced 4 times in less than 30,000 miles.

On 10-28-05 driving on 395 in victorville i stopped at a red light, the light turned green i proceeded and at about 30 mph i heard a bang and what seemed to be a real bad exhaust leak. I was close to a ford dealer so i limped it over to them. They told me what it was and gave me an estimate to repair it... $4100.00. It blew the right front plug and coil out. Plugis mia.has not been repaired yet.i am in the process of getting ford to repair it at their expense. The truck has 44,800 miles on it and was purchased newsept 2004. Whether or not ford takes care on my truck there needs to be a safety recall because this is a flying projectile propelled at an extreme rate. This could be a safety problem because if someone is under the hood for what ever reason and one of those things blows, it could be fatal. Or if it shoot out the fender well and hits a passing car or school buss. Why should we wait for a serious injury or death, a life is worth more, we need to act now....thank you.

The contact owns a 2004 ford f250 superduty. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 mph, the engine ejected spark plugs. The vehicle was taken to a licensed mechanic and repaired by adding an insert into the engine head. The failure had occurred again after the repair was performed. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000. The current mileage was approximately 85,400.

Engine revs up at idle and bogging while in motion and when stopping and making turns. Also, the vehicle intermittently lurches (jumps) forward at idle over powering the brakes. Then the vehicle will die completely, leaving me stuck in an intersection. This is a serious safety issue, could cause a major accident!i have had it in the ford dealers service department 3 different times and the dealer was unable to duplicate the problem.

Dt:whenever the callerdrives the vehicle surges forward, and then it losespower and shuts down. When it is sitting still the motor runs fast, shakes and then dies.caller took vehicle to dealerthree times, and has not been able to get it fixed. Dealer said it might be in a recall. Manufacturer has not been contacted yet.

Letter from congressman smith's office on behalf of constituent regarding ongoing issues with his 2004 f250 vehicle *tgwthe consumer stated the vehicle was running rough, there was a severe rattle in the doors, black smoke emitted from the vehicle, the front end was loose, the battery was replaced twice, there was a problem with the steering, transmission and electrical system, the engine light illuminated and ultimately the engine was replaced because it blew a hole through one of the cylinders. Updated 05/03/10.

Engine surges and will increase speed by 700 rpms with no contact to pedal. Taken to dealership several times numerous recalls and repairs to wireharness and erg valve have not cured problem. Vehicle lurched forward while being parked bumper striking light pole minor damage.

The contact owns a 2004 ford f250 super duty diesel.the contact stated that the check engine indicator illuminated on the instrument panel.the dealer advised her to immediately bring in the vehicle for repair and they found an oil leak that leaked into the icp sensor.the contact paid over $600 to have the vehicle repaired. The current and failure mileages were less than 47,000. Updated 12/09/09the dealer informed the consumer that the problem will continue to happen due to a desgin flaw. I get exhaust fumes / diesel smell through my vents.i brought the truck in at 1500 miles and they replaced theexhaust manifold.it didn't help.they said drive it, and see if it gets better.i have brought the truck in 5 times for the smell, and they can not fix the problem.ford is telling me it's normal.i have friends with the same vehicle and they do not get the fumes coming through their vents. Sometimes the fumes are so strong that my eyes burn.my son will say open the windows because his eyes burn from the fumes.

F250 diesel engine has uncommanded throttle advance.in traffic environment, i need to keep a large interval in case truck decides to advance throttle on its own. This situation rules out parking in the garage.truck was purchased new from ford, has been in shop 6 times for same problem.

Diesel engine bucks while in motion and most importantly when stopping.necessary to put truck into neutral to prevent bucking/jumping forward into car in fromt of me.sweet anti freeze smell inside truck.ford refused to acknowledge problem until forced to perform a complete inspection as prescribed by the dispute settlement board.then learned problem with turbo charger, coolant leak into engine.non-performance happened over a 6 month period begining in june, 2004.

Our f250 superduty has left us in the middle of no where 3 times. We would be driving the truck, park it and then try to start it back up and it would do nothing- this has happened twice.once it just shut down while driving.each time road side asst. Has come to get the truck.this purchase has been the biggest mistake and i do spread the word.by the way- it has been the o-rings and gaskets in the motor.

2004 250 super duty diesel pick up. Consumer would like to know if there will be a congressional hearing against ford motor corporation. *tgwthe consumer stated during the summer of 2006, a surging issue started when driving on the freeway and in stop and go traffic.the dealer replaced numerous sensors, but the problem continued. The consumer also stated the vehicle stalled on the highway several times.the dealer was unable to determine the problem.

Egr and oil cooler broken with under 53,000 miles and only two months after purchasing from dealer. Ford refuses to accept responsibility even though they sued the engine maker navistar (international) for a defective engine and won. Ford refuses to help a first time and now last time customer. Please recall these 6.0 diesel engines . Enough is enough

The engine stalled which caused the vehicle to loose power steering and power brakes. This is very hazardous when pulling a fifth wheel camper.there were a number of stalls that seemed to have been different from the original problem in that the vehicle begin to run rough prior to the stalling.the engine alos lost coolant. *sc

Engine stalls, hesitation, rough running, would not start, heavy smoke exhaust

Within two months of driving, experienced engine bogging, stalling, and grinding noises, unpredictable occurrences. Now problems are accompanied by a sweet smelling chemical odor that fills interior of truck cab. Lemon law state arbitrationinitiated after dealer's multiple attempts to repair have failed.

Dt: while driving the truck shut off and just completely died.the driver was unable to control the vehicle because there wereno brakes and no power steering.as a result the truck veered into oncoming traffic.once the vehicle stopped the driver had to restart the truck. The key had to be turned back to neutral ,then try to restart. The truck was just at the dealershipa week before this happened for a blown radiator hose.ford has been notified of this incident, but will not return the consumer's phone call. The consumer is still trying to be in contact withford customer service.

- the contact owns a 2004 ford f-250 super duty and stated that while driving between40-50 mph, the vehicle stalled without prior warning.the stallingseemed to occur when the engine had not warmed up completely.he did research online and feltthat this vehicle should be covered under recall nhtsa campaign id number: 05v270000concerning electrical system: wiring.he took it to the dealer, and they stated that the vehicledid not fall within the recall due to the vin. The current and failure mileage were112000.the consumer stated an accident occurred. The consumer attempted to stoop the vehicle, but the brakes and steering became stiff. Updated 03/07/07.

Vehicle loss of power and whine noise from motor and /or turbo causing truck to have major hesitation and lack of power at freeway and surface street speeds--several time this happens when driving on a regular basis.

Complained of exhaust odor inside vehicle.oil is leaking from the glow plugs onto the exhaust manifold.serious fire hazard.i've taken the vehicle to the dealer to be "fixed" and this is my third trip.

The contact owns a 2004 ford f-250 sd. The contact stated that after several attempts, the engine failed to start. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was found that the fuel injection control module wire harness needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign id number 05v270000 (electrical system:wiring). The approximate failure mileage was 103,000..... Updated 03/08/13

I have an ongoing problem with my 2004 f250 with the 6.0l powerstroke diesel engine.the vehicle has a problem in the mornings after it has not run for several hours, it smokes, runs rough, and has severe hesitation.forb has a tsb regarding this issue but they were unable to fix it.the smoking and rough running is merely an inconvenience, but the hesitation is a huge safety concern.the vehicle will operate at idle speeds but once the throttle is depressed the vehicle will not accelerate.this condition can last as long as several minutes.i have had a number of near accidents upon leaving my driveway or parking lots and pulling into traffic.once in traffic the vehicle wouldn't accelerate.this condition occurs nearly every morning, especially in the winter, and has resulted in a number of near crashes.the tsb states that this is a common problem that mainly occurs after the vehicles have 15000 miles. I first reported my problem to ford at 17,000 miles.i have had the vehicle back to the dealer numerous times and they just don't know what else to do but the dealer admits there is a problem.feel free to contact me for more questions.the service manager, dean, at rio valley ford has extensive knowledge on my truck also.

1.2004 f250 6.0 diesel experienced engine problems in aug 2004.engine backfired on interstate and since time has been worked on multiple times by selling dealership and ford engineers.2.whatever happened to the engine in 2004 caused it to loose power.the truck has been returned to dealership approximately 12 times since then with a power loss complaint that has yet to be fixed.when pulling out into traffic, the truck can and frequently does stall.last month it stalled twice while attempting to cross a set of railroad tracks.3.the dealership has tried multiple remedies but has yet to fix the problem.the truck has been in the shop since nov 6th 2006.they called yesterday to tell me it was fixed.today is nov 22, it is still there.it test drove it today and it stalled multiple times in the dealership parking lot.i left it with them.

I purchased a new 2003 f250 diesel had so many oil leaking problems ford bought that truck back from me and gave me a 2004 f250 diesel.i've been having the same oil leak problems with this truck.everyone i talk too, is aware of this problem thatford is having with these 6.0 diesel engines.why hasn't there been a recall? the engineer from international (they build this engine for ford) told the head mechanic at gulf breeze ford to put lock tight on the rear main seal of my 2003 truck to stop the oil leak.this seems strange to me, i thought lock tight was for bolts. I had the 2nd truck for a week and took it in and lock tight was placed on the rear main seal of this truck.it has leaked since.was back in the shop for the 3rd time, got it back and it is still leaking.another engineer from international is scheduled to look at my 2004 truck and 4 other problem trucks at gulf breeze ford on 1/24/2006.i think it is very sad, i love my truck- but i can't deal with the constant oil leaks.only have 20k on my truck at this time.what happens when there is 100k plus miles on these trucks.thanks.

While accelerating on a hill, the engine would miss, appear to be trying to stall, and black smoke would come out of the tail pipe.the dealer had to replace the icp.since these symptoms are similar to those described in recall #05s34, i thought my truck should be included.it wasn't and i had to pay a $100 deductible to have it repaired.the service rep said they had several of these same problems on other trucks.

2004 king ranch, 6.0 diesel, turbo problems, again.now truck surges at low speeds, in parking lot and at stop light.if my foot is not on the brake, the truck will move forward!almost hit a lady in the shopping center parking lot.serviced for problems 8 times over 36 months.can't fix?

1) while entering interstate and/or traveling at interstate speeds, and hauling a trailer.2) the cac(charge air cooler) duct blows off of the turbo.this leaves the vehicle with a lack of power, requiring finding a safe place to pull off the road.3) existing hardware is re-attached and torqued to spec, and redesigned parts have also been installed.

Ford super duty trucks with the 6-liter diesel engine, generally while towing a heavy trailer uphill, experience a high rate of turbo hoses blowing off. This creates a low power situation that leaves the truck without enough power to safely exit the roadway. On two-lane highways this is a serious safety concern. I have this truck, as do three of my acquaintances. Three out of four of us have had this happen. A search of ford warranty repair records will confirm that this is a very common problem. Several acquaintances have had the problem more than once, in spite of ford having done the repairs. The incident below involves a friend, not my own experience. I feel that this is a safety hazard that should be corrected with a recall of affected vehicles.

Bought 2004 f-250 diesel 4 door lariet in may.we have had nothing but trouble. First it was taken in four times for a rattle had to replace door latch. Next the transmission was slipping was put on computer and was told nothing they could do until it totally broke down. Then the truck would die and i would loose steering and brakes had to replace electrical harness. The best one is the odor coming out the vents. Has been to 3 different shops in texas still not fixed.odor has got so strong that my child has to take migraine pills if she is in the truck more than 30 min. I lend up having headaches, sleepy, sore throat and vomiting. Was told not to run the a/c but to run on max a/c no help from ford company. Please help us. Will it take someone to die before they do something about it.

I bought this 2004 ford f-250,6.0 diesel in may 2010 with 160k miles on it because lots of people told me to buy a diesel it would give me better performance than gas. I have had nothing but troubles ever since. It started not starting about 2 weeks after i bought it. The ford house is no help at all. Ive had it there several times and all it done was cost me money.it has never stopped running driving down the road like the other complaints iv'e read. But it has left me stranded 50 or 75 times, sometimes it will run perfect for months and all at once it wont start.showing no codes ford says they cant do a thing. In july last summer it did it 1500 miles from home on vacation.i had a wrecker take it to a shop and $7500.00 and 6 weeks later they had put a new engine in it (said the camshaft broke and scored the piston wall) i came home now 6 months later its doing it again.i cant afford to take it to ford, i cant trade it.what to do??

1.) we were driving in the pet smart parking lot and the vehicle lurched forward on it"s own and almost ran over a lady and her little dog! i had to slam on the brakes and shut it off!2.) vehicle will stall and accelerate without warning. Very scary and dangerous!!3.) three trips to the dealer and it still has not been repaired.

We own a ford f-250 super duty with a 6.0 diesel motor with a 100,000 mile warranty.twice during that period, i reported that the motor was very noisy when starting on a cold morning.finally at 99,987 miles the local dealer acknowledges that 5 injectors need replacing and & ford will replace them as soon as i prove when every oil change was made.they specifically mentioned bills & receipts.after a few weeks gathering oil change information, a service advisor suggests taking it to the selling dealer, as they would be more disposed to fix the truck.the other service advisor says that they don't want to keep the work order open any more.the selling dealer couldn't help. After a lengthy process i get to the appropriate person at ford who accepts my personal notes on the oil changes.but since the truck now has over 100,000 miles on it, ford won't do the work, even though the problem had been reported several times prior to the 100,000 mile limit.i believe the local dealer set me up so ford wouldn't have to pay for the work.

F250 6.0 powerstroke stalls, misses, and loses all power. Ford dealer has no idea of what could be causing problem. Have been unable to repair. Changed egr valve and a couple of other sensors. No change.

2004 ford f250 sd 6.0l .engine stalls at highway speeds put doesn't die.in 2005 wiring harness was replaced.in may 2007 took to southern ford in manvel, tx they replaced egr valve & performed software update on ecm.problem is worse from a stop accelerator will be depressed but truck will move only 3-5 mph.pumping the pedal a few times will bring back acceleration.happens intermittently almost caused accident as i tried to merge into traffic and engine lost power.

2004 ford-f250 king ranch diesel series:engine revs up at idle over powering the brakes enough to cause the truck to jump forward between 1-2 ft. This is a serious safty issue at intersections. This occurred 1 day after dealership updated the engine computer code. The original cause to take the truck into the dealership was the power loss and massive engine shaking at idle as described by others.

Dt;ever since consumer bought ford f250 it jerks or bucks forward when at a stop or driving slow.dealer basically say if they can't duplicate the problem it is hard for them to fix it.this happens intermittently.it may do this and stop then it will begin again.the most recent episode was last week.consumer called service dept as it was happening, and was told to bring the vehicle in and they would take care of it.actually had to put in neutral for safety because it does this as if the vehicle were stalling and lurches forward even with foot on brake.

Dt:consumerhad has recall work done on2004 ford f250 super duty. The first recall wasin april on the turbo bracket.dealership put the bracket on the turbo charger on the top of the engine. Dealership did not tighten the hose back, and all the oil leaked out. The second recall was on the rear planetary that was mandatory recall. The dealer tried to fix this, but the owner was not satisfied with the repair work. He said that the vehicle vibrated to badly. The next recall was the fuel control module, the dealer repaired the vehicle, and currently the truck was dying in the middle of the road after it warmed up.consumertalked to the dealership where heoriginally bought the truck, and they could notwork on the truck because consumerhad workdone somewhere else. Consumertalked to a regional manager, who said that the truck was operating normally. The truck could sit for a few minutes andwill start back up.. Consumer couldnot have anyone else work on the truck, or ford will void the warranty for one hundred thousand miles on the engine and components and 36,000 miles on the drive train. Consumerwanted to file a complaint. The information about the recall was with the consumers lawyer. The consumer does have pending lawsuit against ford.

- the contact ownsa 2004 ford f250 superduty 6.0l. The contact stated that while driving 50 mph he lost turbo charge trying to accelerate to get onto the freeway.this happened when the vehicle overheated as well. Also, the contactstated that the engine stalled. He had taken the vehicle to the dealership, where they have made repairs 5 times to date. This had been an ongoing problem since the vehicle was purchased. The failure mileage was 15,000, and the current mileage was 23,000.

2004 ford 6.0 diesel - turbo hose keeps coming off when towing. Have had it in the shop at least a dozen times- hose and clamps have all been replaced at great cost each time - still the same problem - dealer says no other fix available - multiple people with same problem reporting on the internet.

I have owned the truck for approx. 9 months, (third owner). While towing my travel trailer or going uphill unloaded, the turbo will howl loudly and the truck will experience a significant power loss (cannot maintain adequate speed above 45 mph). Also i average only 9 mpg city and 11.9 mpg highway unloaded weight. I have taken the truck to antelope valley ford as well as the previous owner and get the same response, "cannot duplicate. It seems as if ford has instructed their technicians to "cannot duplicate" all complaints in an effort to avoid fixing under warranty.

I have a 2004 f250 diesel.the turbo charger was replaced 6/2007 because it was causing the vehicle to surge while driving.the turbo is again causing the vehicle to surge.this is a serious safety problem.

Ficm on my 6.0 super duty is causing running problems this is just another in a long list of issues ford is aware of, if the truck was to stop running during freeway speeds this may cause serious injury to my family due to loss of braking and steering. I use this truck to tow a travel trailer and at this time i do not feel this truck is safe enough to do this. The local dealer wants $1200.00+ to repair this well known problem. I am not in the position to replace this vehicle. Other problems replaced 4 egr in 50,000 miles.

The contact owns a 2004 ford f250 superduty. While driving uphill at 35 mph, the vehicle suddenly lost power. After shifting in and out of gear, the vehicle stalled two to three times. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership where the egc cooler was reprogrammed because it overheated after pulling a load uphill. The contact called the manufacturer who stated that they would decide whether they would cover the repair costs and get back with him. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000. The current mileage was approximately 60,000.

I have a 2004 ford f250 super duty with a 6.0 diesel.the egr cooler was replace twice under warranty and with the truck now out of warranty with 111,000 miles on it, the egr cooler went out once more and ford would not help me out on the repair so i had to pay for it myself. There is a huge problem with the 2003 through 2005 6.0 diesel.it has happened to thousands of owner.owners of these vehicles are being forced to bypass the egr cooler, there by making it inoperable.this is in violation of epa standards and ford should be forced by the government to recall these vehicles and repair them right.this is not only a fairness issue; it is a clean air safety issue.

2004 f250 super duty / engine chokes down and sometimes stalls. Happens often, mostly in city traffic. They claim to have replaced sensors and valves; but, the truck has progressively got worse (2-3 times a week).

2004 f250 crew cab diesel 4x4check engine light cam on at 7,800 mi after truck died when drivingtook it in they said nothing was wrong, 200 miles later i started loosing power , and stalling kept recurring, they got a code that read internal failure, erratic back pressure in exhaust . They put a new sensor in it made no difference still stalling 20,000 mi took it in again, for stalling , lack of power bad fuel mpg, hesitating on take off . Check engine light on , and a loud clunking in the front passenger side . They put a new sensor in , an no differenceat 26,000 they replaced the turboit ran good for a week or so but fuelmpg never improved and it slowly lost power again , and all the other issues still remain the same. I got under the truck and had to locate the problem and found that the leaf spring was loose and caused the bushings to be destroyed, they wouldn't fix any of it, and i paid for a 2000 extended warranty . Im currently trying to get other owners of the 6.0 diesel motors to get together a file a class action suit .

Dt: the contact stated the throttle stuck.when the brake pedal was depressed the vehiclestopped. The vehicle was towed to a certified dealer. Diagnostics were performed.the air mass sensor was cleaned. The vehicle is now driving correctly. Updated 12/27/05.

Consumer had egr sensor replaced. Check engine light came on making vehicle feel like it was going to die. The egr valve has been replaced five times.the vehicle rolled although the parking brake was applied.the dealer adjusted the parking brake.

The contact owns a 2004 ford f-250 super duty. The contact stated while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic where he was advised that the fuel injection control model had failed. The mechanic informed the contact of nhtsa campaign id number: 05v270000 (electrical system wiring ). The contact spoke with the manufacturer and was advised that the recall was performed on the vehicle in 2005 prior to the most recent failure. The manufacturer did not advised whether the fuel injection control module was replaced or the injection control pressure sensor, both of which were included in the recall. The failure and current mileage was 125,000. Update 3/8/11 the consumer stated when he attempted to start the vehicle, it wouldn't start. He noticed the fuel gauge was reading empty. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. It was discovered the fuel injection control module had failed.also, egr valve was replaced three times which caused loss of power and hesitation.updated 05/19/11

The contact owns a 2004 ford f-250 super duty. The contact stated that the turbo component of the diesel engine failed. The component was replaced by an authorized dealer. The manufacturer offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000 and the current mileage was 53,183.

The contact owns a 2004 ford f-250 super duty. The contact stated that while driving 10 mph white smoke began to come from the exhaust and the vehicle started to hesitate and shut off. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who stated that the egr(exhaust gas recirculation system) was not working properly and needed to be replaced. The egr was being replaced by the dealer when the complaint was filed. The egr was replaced twice. The contact stated that the manufacturer needed to issue a recall on the engine since numerous owners has experienced the problem.the failure mileage was 60,000.

The contact owns a 2004 ford f250 super duty.the contact stated that the egr cooler needed to be replaced three times.the vehicle would produce a lot of smoke and fail to accelerate properly once the egr failed.the dealer stated that the manufacturer would not assume liability for the repairs.there was a factory warranty that covered the part for twelve months or 12,000 miles, whichever came first.the failure always occurred outside of the warranty.the vin was unknown.the failure mileages were 99,000, 114,000 and 130,000.the current mileage was 130,000.

Exhaust manifold bolts broken, leading to carbon monoxide (as well as other exhaust gases) being released into passenger compartment.

Exhaust leak entering drivers compartment had this truck in shop four times have been tld to many ahead so it will be days maybe longer think they are wanting the warranty to run out but this leak can cause health problems are maybe an accedent.there has been a lot of the diesel pickups with this problem so i think it needs to be repaired under warranty no matter what the mileage is.

Exhaust manifold bolts rusted/corroded & broken off + rust/corrosion related crack in exhaust manifold itself. This is obviously an ongoing problem with no specific date as to when it happened only when it was discovered. I believe this to be an emissions issue.

Cpsc: heated seat cover was plugged into 2004 ford f250 super duty via the dc 12v. The vehicle was on for 30. *dt

The contact owns a 2004 ford f-250 sd. While the contact was examining his vehicle he noticed that occasionally the rear brake lights failed to operate normally.a local mechanic was unable to diagnose the failure since it could not be duplicated. There were no prior warnings. The current and failure mileages were 88000.

The truck i rented from u haul was unsafe and should have never been released for rental. I paid $795.00. The lefthead light was so far out of adjustment that i could not see the center divider, the air conditioner would not work, the winshield washer resevoir was empty. I paid an additional $110.00 for u haul's safe move- safe tow and because of their negligence the vehicle was unsafe. Contract # 00035048

Was driving my 2004 ford f-250 super duty 6.0l diesel truck with my family when it stalled without warning on a sharp curve. Started looking online and noticed that there were recalls on said trucks concerning ficm wire harnesses and icp sensor connectors.

The engine stalls without warning while driving. There is already a recall but it did not include my vehicle. Nhtsa campaign id number 05v270000 nhtsa action number ea05003. The problem with my vehicle is identical to this and the remedy was identical however, it cost me $350.00 because my vehicle was built a month to late or to early, not sure.

Pulling out onto highway and engine loses power and sometimes stalls. This condition was occasional but now is constant. When i pull onto a roadway and it stalls, cars have to brake to keep from crashing. I understand there is a manufacturer/sponsored recall but when i talked to the service manager at the ford dealership they tell me they don't have a recall listed.

Extreme turbo lag with loss of power which caused vehicle not to shift through the gears, it is an automatic, unable to drive over 25mph and emitting a large cloud of black exhaust.incident occurred at approximately 100,000 milesluckily the turbo was able to be dis-assembled and cleaned with no internal damage at a rather high cost but still cheaper than a replacement.

Engine stalls while driving since 12/06. Missed recall 05s34 by 1 week. Ford replaced icp sensor 4 times since then at our cost. Stalls 2-3 times week. 3-4 missed accidents. Stalled decelerating on freeway today. My son was almost killed. Ford co. Will not assist beyond email to dealer.

I have a problem when my f250 diesel runs at 1200-1500rpm, the engine seems to shutter and loads up. It sometimes seems to start to stall out and lose power. The dealer has had the vehicle in their service department six times and can not find the problem. They have changes the exhaust sensor and remap the computer with no luck. They have test driven the truck and had the problem occur. The vehicle is becoming dangerous to drive because of the lose of power in traffic. I have had a couple of close rearend collisons becasue of the problem.nothing has been done to correct the problem. The dealer can not find the problem and has advised me to keep driving it at my risk. Hoping to find a fault code.

Check engine light came on, i had it checked and found that it was code #p2285 or icp sensor circuit. The truck idles erratic and the motor surges. The ford dealer said that it is not covered under safety recall #05s34 because of the build date. I have not had it repaired yet.

2004 ford f250 diesel truck does not have power to accelerate in the mornings.i can not pull out into traffic with any confidence that you will not be hit.the truck has been taken several times to ford dealerships and they say that there is nothing wrong with the vehicle.the vehicle has many other problems but if the computer can't find them, they do not exist and they will not fix it.i.e.turbo being blown, fuel mileage becoming less and less etc.

2004 f-250 superduty with 6.0 diesel every morning the truck has no acceleration from the start it runs really rough and if i depress the accelerator the truck will not move or it will only go to a speed of 5 to 10 mph this also happens if the truck has been setting for an extended period of time like all day at work i havehad several very close calls with other cars when pulling out into traffic and the truck will not go this has happened numerous times and i have had no help from the local dealer .

Vehicle stalls while driving very frequently, almost every time its driven.very dangerous to lose power while operating.we took the truck to a dealer who is installing new parts, which are covered under a recall of this exact make, model, year.we were informed by ford, that our truck was excluded due to being produced in the month prior to the recall begin date.recall is on 2004 ford f250 super duty 6.0 diesel, my truck exactly.everything stated in the recall is the same.same problem, same answer.it is costing around $1600.00 for the repairs.the recall number is 05v270000.obviously this recall should include a larger number of vehicles.

Multiple failure of turbo charger and connecting hose, have experienced no power, loss of power,back-fire conditions while in traffic. While towing and not towing. No accidents so far but several near misses. Turbo replaced or repaired 3 times, less than 51000 miles on truck. Vehicle has not been modified

No acceleration when throttle pushed.my 2004 ford f-250 has a situation where i can be setting at a intersection getting ready to pull into traffic, and when i press down on the throttle, nothing happens leaving me in the middle of the road.the truck idles pulling me into traffic, no acceleration happens at all.this has occurred 3 times in the last 2 weeks.there is no way to predict when it is going to happen.a major accident could easily occur.

We have terrible gas(diesel) mileage with our truck, can you help? , we've had at least 6 recalls on our truck.

The contact owns a 2004 f-250 super duty diesel.the vehicle stalledand accelerated while sitting at a stop sign. When approaching a stop sign and applying the brakes the vehicle continuedto move forward.a few days ago the contact attempted to stop the vehicle while a pedestrian was walking in front of itandthe vehicle failed to stop.the failure mileage was 20,000. This failure occurred daily. The weather was not a factor.one month after purchasing the vehicle he noticedvibration on the front end of the vehicle.the contact received a second opinion from a dealer, and they informed him that the fuel injection needed to be replaced. The repairs were performed at no cost to the contactdue to the warranty.the current vehicle mileage was 51,000.

My 2004 ford f250 super duty crew-cab truck accelerates and decelerates spontaneously on its own while i am driving at a uniform speed. This can persist for a number of miles before abating.the engine just begins to rev up and then down for no apparent reason.when stopped at a traffic light, with my foot only on the brake, the truck suddenly accelerates and lurches forward.i tried putting it in park while at the traffic light, but it died when i did so. The truck is used for trail fcor two large horses, and should it spontaneously accelerate or completely stop while trailering on the freeway, the results could be disastrous.this significant safety issue is what prompts my complaint to the nhtsa.we took the truck to our ford dealership mechanic, and he said that ford has had a number of similar complaints.

The contact owns a 2004 ford f-250. While driving 20 mph, the contact stated that the fuel injector control module failed and needed to be replaced. The dealer was notified, but offered no assistance. The manufacturer was notified and also offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The current mileage was approximately 94,000.the failure mileage was approximately 93,900.

Vehicle requiring repeat repairs for same problem, 3 injectors replaced on separate occasions, computer reprogramming, egr valve replaced.

I own a 2004 ford f-250 with the 6.0 diesel motor.i have complained that on cold mornings, the motor makes a loud hammering noise, shakes & is very weak.finally, just short of the 1000,000 mile warranty, they agree that in fact it is faulty & needs 5 injectors replaced.however they won't replace them until i prove that every oil change was made on time.who can prove 99,000 miles of oil changes.i believe its an excuse, so they won't have to do the work.

The contact stated that while driving 65 mph, the check engine warning lamp illuminated then the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was moved to the shoulder where the contact attempted to restart it but to no avail. The vehicle was able to be restarted 30 minutes later.the vehicle was personally diagnosed by the contact who found that the fuel injection control module had failed. The vehicle was not repaired.the manufacturer was notified about the issue and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number 05v270000 (electrical system). The approximate failure mileage was 142,200.

Takara recall i was driving down the freeway when the check engine light came on i all the sudden had a loss of power and it was like the motor was sputtering like it had a misfire after that it's very hard to start and barely moves it comes up with multiple injector codes that all failed at the same time some high some low

The contact owns a 2004 ford f-250 sd. After parking the vehicle and attempting to exit, the vehicle began to roll backwards. The contact was able to depress the brake pedal to stop the vehicle, and applied the emergency brake. It was later discovered that the emergency brake would no longer function. On another occasion, the contact parked, turned off the engine, and exited the vehicle. Upon returning to the vehicle, it was discovered that it had rolled approximately 30 feet from the original parked position. The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 124,000.

Consumer had egr sensor replaced. Check engine light came on making vehicle feel like it was going to die. The egr valve has been replaced five times.the vehicle rolled although the parking brake was applied.the dealer adjusted the parking brake.

The contact owns a 2004 ford f 250 sd. While driving 45 mph he heard a loud noise in the rear of the vehicle. After removing the rear tires he found that the brake lining was off of the brake shoe and broke into several pieces. The emergency brake cable caused the failure when it broke. The driver side window was off track and failed to close after it was opened. The transmission made noise while driving at various speeds. The dealer repaired the valve body sensor and the valve train; however, the failure continued to occur. The failure mileage was 12,000 miles and the current mileage was 36,000.

Turbo lag, stall, hesitation, electrical.

While accelerating from a traffic light, the transmission began shifting wildly. Pulled over, restarted and transmission began shifting up and down again with a serious loss of power. Vehicle was limped under its own power back to the dealer with the transmission acting as if it would fail at any time. Dealer found and replaced a solenoid and wiring harness shorting to the transmission pan.

Purchased a ford f250 crew cab 4x4 with 6.0 psd in september 04. In the first part of november 04 used electronic on the fly shift to place in 4 wheel drive, vehicle made a load pop. When i tried to remove from 4x4 it would not release. The truck also had a load popping noise from the left front wheel area. Took truck to dealer, he was suppose to replace both hubs per service paperwork. Along with having to do a front wheel alignment( i had not ran into or hit nothing). Received truck back, still had popping noise in left front wheel area, called dealer was told nothing to worry about. Went to tennessee on vacation, 4x4 locked in 4x4 again, had to drive it back from tennessee that way. Ocne again when turning left or right truck made a aweful noise, along with the popping that was there before. Took back to dealer, again said hubs replaced. Got truck back again no noise when turning but still has popping on starts and stops, also when the tranmission shifts gears theres a klucking noise. Took truck back again, was told they could not find anything wrong. This continued till it got real bad, called dealer, dealer had factory rep on hand to ride with me in the truck, the rep heard the noise and felt it, told dealer to look into driveline problem, truck was kept by dealer recieved it back two day later, dealer again said we can't find anything. Truck is still making the same noise but now has started to get louder, truck also now after the dealer update the flash has no power, and is hard to start. I paid a lot of money for this truck that i am worry about driving because of not knowing whenor if it well break down.

2004 ford f250 6.0 diesel.started shuddering a bit while going from park, drive to reverse.i found transmission fluid on my garage floor, took the truck to the dealer for repair.4000 dollars to fix a hole in the transmission caused by identical circumstances involving ford recall 05b27.the mechanic pulled the "oasis" report and found no recall for my vehicle based on the "vin".i have contacted ford with no satisfaction.i was advised to pay for the repair and maybe there will be a recall at a future date, at which point i would be reimbursed.again, this defect is exactly the same as described in recall 05b27.there is no difference in what happened to my vehicle and what ford tried to stem with the recall.it is an admitted engineering defect which should give cause for an expanded recall.

I own a 2004 ford f250 diesel crew cab 4x4. We have the lariet package along with the camper and off road packages. Current miles are 3600. Ehaven't towed anything behind this new truck yet. On sunday aug. 1,2004, my wife was driving and noticed that the transmission would not shift into overdrive.the tow/haul light on the dash was flashing. I took the truck to mike davidson ford the next morning aug. 2,2004.they dropped the pan off the transmission and found metal shavings along with a bad sensor. The truck is still in the shop. I wanted to know if other new ford trucks equiped the same way were having simular problems.the dealership said this was a rare condition for this type vehicle.

Transmission on 04 f 250 suddenly went into neutral in traffic. I was almost rear ended by a loaded dump truck. The truck is at the dealer ship now and they are telling me a recalled part caused the problem. I have heard of no recalls. Ford customer relations tells me that the program has been out for two weeks . Does someone have to die first come on please help!!!!!!!!

While driving transmission made a loud clanking noise upon pulling out of a parking lot. It sounded like someone hit the vehicle. Vehicle had been to ford4 times.

While driving 70 mph passenger side axle fractured completely. As a result, the passenger tire separated and went up under the vehicle which jammed the door shut . Consumer maintained the vehicle. No injuries reported.

While driving on a 2 lane country road, i went to shift (change gears) my truck, and the clutch pedal fell off.i was able to get it into neutral, and coasted to a stop on the shoulder of the road.upon investigating the cause, i found the pivot pin that the clutch pedal rotates on was missing the retainer and bushing from the right side of the pin, so the pin had moved to the left until the pedal became unattached.after removing the fuse panel from the dash board, and using a hammer handle to reach in and leverage the pedal pin back in place, i was able to drive home.i am an automotive supplier engineer, and do most of my own mechanical repairs on my own vehicles.i have not yet tried to purchase the replacement parts from a ford dealer, but the auto parts store does not have them.my truck is a 2004 ford f250 super duty 4x4, 4 dr, diesel.

Dt*: the contact stated while traveling 65 mph, a vibration was felt from the steering wheel along with the front and rear of the vehicle.the service dealer and manufacturer replaced the entire front end, all axles, rotors, ring and pinion and wheel hubs, but the vibration continued.the manufacturer had an engineer test the vehicle and found the vibration to be within operating standards.the fuel light illuminated, the center console squeaked, the lower ball joints were replaced. Dt*: the contact stated twice the vehicle jumped into four-wheel drive on its own causing the vehicle to lock up.when this occurred, the steering was very difficult to put into gear.the first time this occurred, the dealership installed a vacuum pump assembly.the second time, the dealership determined the motor on the transfer case needed to be replaced.

The front seat passenger wastransported to the hospital and was hospitalized for four months. The injuries sustained consisted of three broken ribs, bruised jaw, shattered heart, and ten stitches in the right temple. A police report was filed for the incident. Vehicle experienced difficulty with the front passenger side seat belt. Each time the brake was applied to turn the corner or hitting a bump in the road the safety belt will tighten. Owner took the vehicle to the dealer andmanufacturer, and was told that there was nothing they could do.consumer stated that the seat belt locked up so tight that it hurt his chest and neck.it would not release until the seat belt was unbuckled.the consumer had to let it retract all the way back, then rebuckle it.

The parking brakes were never very effective and despite being repaired several nothing has been able to improve them.the truck has a manual transmission and disc rear brakes.it is dangerous to park it on a hill even if its left in gear.

The vehicle is a 2004 ford f-250 super dutyi stepped on my brakes and heard a pop. The pedal went to the floor.when i got the vehicle stopped, and investigated, i found that one of the two bolts that mount the master cylinder had broken off.this left the master cylinder hanging by one bent bolt and the brakes were not functioning.very scary. Low grade bolts? i am the original owner of the truck.here is an internet posting of other people having similar problems.http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/690350-broken-master-cylinder-bolts.htmli don't have my vin with me here at work, i can give this to you in a following email if you like.

This failure occurred daily. The weather was not a factor.one month after purchasing the vehicle he noticedvibration on the front end of the vehicle.the contact received a second opinion from a dealer, and they informed him that the fuel injection needed to be replaced. Driving at highway speeds i hit a bump and the front end of the vehicle began shaking violently until i slowed down significantly. This has happened twice in the past month.have done some research and found that this is a common problem in my vehicle type and the reluctance of the manufacturer to find a solution to the problem.afraid of what potentially may happen if this continues to occur with no dealership/manufacturer intervention.

My 2004 f250 2wd superduty pickup shakes violently whenever i hit the smallest pothole or drive over railroad tracks. This caused my right tie rod to separate and run three people off the road. After new tie rods the problem still exist. This truck only has 81,000 miles on it .no one has any explanation as to what to do to fix this other than an after market steering stabilizer. Shouldn't ford be responsible for this fix before someone gets killed?

2004 ford f250sd 78,000 miles, went to drive forward out of a parking spot and there was a loud bang in the front end as if i drove over something. Stopped the truck got out looked underneath and there was nothing there. Got back in to drive out of parking spot, steering wheel would turn, but wheels would not. Had it towed to ford garage and they said the bolts holding the steering box to the frame just snapped off. The ford dealer said they have never had that happen to a truck before and they do not know how it happened. I know if i was driving on the highway at 65mph i probably would of been killed if that had broken at that time. Truck is being repaired, but parts have to be ordered because they are special bolts.

Traveling at regular motorway speeds (55 - 70) the truck vibrates violently and constantly.it stops once the vehicle slows to below 30mph.i have checked other complaints and will be checking tire pressure and seeing it a steering dampener can be added. This vehicle was unloaded at the time of the incident and had about 1/2 a tank of fuel on board.

Front end shakes violently after hitting a rough spot on pavement at highway speed. Continues until speed is reduced to less than 50 mph. There are several other complaints on your database for the same problem, so why isn't something being done about it? this is a very serious issue. My wife would not have been able to handle this happening to her. This happened once before about a year ago and i had the truck checked, but nothing could be found. Even though it's ten years old, truck only has a little over 24,000 miles.

When pulling the truck forward after backing up, there is a popping noise coming from the left front steering mechanism as i drive forward. I have taken the truck to ford service on multiple occasions and they indicated that no problem existed. I called theford motor company in dearborn michigan for help, but they indicated the noise was normal and no other complaints had been filed. I would like someone to look into this as i feel it is a steering component issue and a possible safety item. The popping noise is transmitted and manifests through the steering wheel, and as an experienced professional truck driver i understand that this cannot be a normal situation as ford would like me to believe.

The contact owns a 2004 ford f250 super duty. While driving approximately 45 mph the vehicle suddenly stalled. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnostic testing where the technician stated thefuel injection control module needed to be replaced. The contact stated there was a recall under nhtsa campaign id number: 05v270000 (electrical system:wiring) that may be related to the failure. The dealer informed the contact his the vin was not included in the recall. The vehicle was repaired. The contact also stated the steering wheel locked while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic andsteering control box was replaced twice. The contact continued to experience a failure with the steering. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

Severe problems on 2004 f250 superduty crew cab 4x4. As of 6/11/2010 has only 32,000 miles on vehicle. Steering wheel intermittently locks up at low speed (intersections etc.) and is now locking up at higher speeds (45mph +). Caused truck to veer into oncoming traffic but accident was avoided. Truck also violently vibrates (intermittently) when going over bumps. Truck is becoming too dangerous to drive. I would like to request the nhtsa to take action because many others are experiencing the same problems and ford motor company seemingly claims (through others experiences with service departments at ford dealerships) that no problems exist.

2004 ford f250.gradually over a one year period, then intermittent, power steering gear box shaft locks up at slow speed turns.power steering fluid continuously contaminates even after repeated changes.problem is getting worse causing unsafe driving in intersections, etc.vehicle not drivable at this point.

At about 45 to 55mph truck sometimes develops a light shimmy in the front end. It occasionally becomes very severe feeling like the whole front suspension is about to come apart. It is especially prevalent when there is a slight left pressure on the steering wheel, like when changing lanes. Slowing will eliminate the bounce, but it is difficult to slow quickly when the front end is bouncing and severely vibrating. It causes a near total loss of control.

On 2004 ford super duty, f-250, the dealer service department stated that the left front ball joints were loose. The vehicle has 58,246 miles on it with no accidents or misuse. This is pre-mature failure of major suspension parts. The dealer service department also stated that ford knew there was a problem with the ball joints due to the weight of the engine.

Vehicle shimmy and shake, steering wheel oscillation starts at approx. 50 mph after going over slight bump in roadway. Continues until brakes are applied and speed is reduced to under 45 mph.

My 2004 ford f-250 has a steering problem, the truck occasionally pulls hard to the left especially after i make a sharp right turn. I've talked with some other ford owners and they also have steering problems. It sounds like it may be a problem with the steering box.

The 2004 f250 superduty 4x4trucks need a steering stabilizer on them to stop steering shimmy after hitting bumps in the road

Consumer is concerned with the wide space between the body of the vehicle and the running board. As when his wife exited the vehicle, her foot slipped off the running board and went between the running board and the body of the truck. The consumers wife broke her leg.

Doors on 2004 crewcab f250 lariat 4x4 are squeaking, loose, and very noisy when driving.problem was brought to the attention of several ford dealers in nj area, one of which even replaced the latch on passenger side front door with no effect. (dealer even damaged truck several times while attempting to fix a separate, but related problem-window air leak.)truck has had this problem since new and i have had no satisfaction from any dealer service department.i have owned three new ford trucks and this is by far the poorest quality.reference nhtsa item number:10004948service bulletin number: 17307, dated oct 1, 2003.

I have a ford f250 super duty 4x4 with 94000 miles. I took it to get the tires aligned and was told the upper and lower ball joints were extremely worn. After getting home i found this website [ http://www.topix.com/forum/autos/ford-f-250-super-duty/tjddvleksir1jmv0j ] and it seems this is a common problem that is happening at low mileage on these trucks. This has probably been an on going issue with my truck but i didn't know it until i noticed extreme tire wear then it was to late. I believe this to be a safety hazard because the possibility of lose of control of the vehicle at total failure.

Ford f-250 king ranch i am a 5 time repeat ford customer. My f-250 has a bounce in that cannot be cured. Ford had me replace all 4 tires to correct the problem with no results. After spending the money on the tires, ford tells me it is a normal characteristic of the truck. I have recent service invoices with "checked and ok at this time" ratings on all 4 of the old tires. Ford will not fix the problem, or refund my tires. I have been to 3 dealerships and in communication with ford motor company. This seems to be a common problem that ford does not want to stand behind.

I own a ford 250 super duty 2004.since february 2009 i have sporadically experienced uncontrollable wobbling of the steering wheel.it appears that it happens after making sharp turns or bumps and doesn't matter with the speed.i've taken the truck to a service center and 3 or more times they've taken it apart and can't find anything.they suggested taking it to a ford dealer.i did and explained it to the mechanic upon which he claims he's never heard of such a thing.as a last resort i googled ford 250 shaky steering and found what they call "ford death wobble".to my surprise there are numerous other accounts of this with people as confused as myself and my mechanics.from reading it appears that ford is aware but denies the existence of this happening.also saw that i could at least complain to someone who may listen.my concern is crashing like some of the other unfortunate people and ford getting away with no consequences.

Noticed a clunk in the front end over bumps. Inspected the front suspension and found over 7/16 side to side play in the left lower ball joint, and 3/8 side to side play in the right lower ball joint. I replaced both lower ball joints. I feel this is a very early failure and if left to get worse would cause an accident.

Original factory spark plug ejected from engine on 2004 f250, leaving us stranded.had to have vehicle towed and cylinder damage.helicoil kit installed.

My 2004 ford 250 4 x 4 is surging (taking off) when i am not accelerating the engine. It does this at various speeds. The dealership has tried several fixes and even called their own hotline. Nothing is working to fix the problem.i am at times sitting a red signal light ant the truck wants to take off. My foot was firmly suppressed upon the brake pedal. I travel down a residential street, going at speeds between 25 and 40 miles per hour, and my truck surges forward as though i depressed the accelerator. I did not depressed the accelerator. I can be going speeds between 25 and 75 miles per hour on the highway, whether in stop and go or continuous speed, and the truck surges without the command of my foot on the accelerator. The rpm needle jumps suddenly as well when this occurs. If i am repeating myself, it is because i am very concern for my safety as well as any passengers and the other drivers on the road with me when this problem occurs. I have gone to various website forums and i am seeing other owners complain of the same thing, but ford is not fixing the safety issue.

2004 ford f250 super duty diesel at 11:30 pm had un intended acceleration while traveling in the fog.the vehicle simply took off wide open while in a curve without my foot on the gas pedal at all. This is second instance of this happening. Steve marsh ford dealership was aware of the turbo revving up and had worked on this multiple times prior to the unintended acceleration.i notified my insurance carrier farm bureau agent mark milam 731-855-2591 the next morning.

Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle accelerated on its own at various speeds intermittently.also, this had happened while stopped at a red light.the dealership had seen the vehicle five times.the first two times, the problem could not be duplicated.the third time, an unknown part was replaced.the fourth time, the computer was reprogrammed, but the problem persisted.

Dt: the contact stated the throttle stuck.when the brake pedal was depressed the vehiclestopped. The vehicle was towed to a certified dealer. Diagnostics were performed.the air mass sensor was cleaned. The vehicle is now driving correctly. Updated 12/27/05.

The contact owns a 2004 ford f250 superduty.while idling at a red light, the vehicle unintentionally accelerated.currently, the vehicle constantly accelerates on its own.the vehicle has not been diagnosed by a mechanic or dealer at this time.the current mileage was 92,000 and failure mileage was 90,000.

F250 diesel engine has uncommanded throttle advance.in traffic environment, i need to keep a large interval in case truck decides to advance throttle on its own. This situation rules out parking in the garage.truck was purchased new from ford, has been in shop 6 times for same problem.

Vehicle had no throttle response and the rpm's dropped down to 0. Vehicle just quit, lost power for about 30 seconds. This happened repeatedly at various speeds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer.the dealer replaced several components but the problem recurred.

On saturday, 6/2/18, myself, husband and another passenger were involved in an incident in goochland county, va. Road conditions were normal, no rough road, potholes and no items in roadway. We were traveling on a rural, two lane road with no side shoulders(just trees) when our left rear tire started vibrating and making a strange noise. Before we had time to slow down, we heard loud banging and crunching. Seeing as there was no place to pull over, we had to stop and investigate in the middle of the lane. What we saw was a still fully inflated tire, with the tread torn off and flapping. This completely destroyed the bed and who knows possibly what else of our truck. The tires have good tread life, were inflated to the manufacturer suggested pressure and were not dry rotted or worn unevenly. We had to have the truck towed an hour back home because of the condition. I have reached out to the manufacturer and have not been able to get anywhere with them. This is not a fluke, seeing as i am not the only one complaining on here about this issue. We were extremely lucky that we were not injured or even killed. Ourtires are 33x12.50x16.5 bf goodrich all terrain t/a ko.pictured below is the proof of tire tread separation and damage done to my vehicle.
